Watchmen, Episode 1.01: It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice

SPOILER ALERT FOR EPISODE 1.01 OF HBO’s WATCHMEN

Sooo... This is going to be a controversial show. Already, when you are doing a follow-up to one of the world's most notable graphic novels, you already must tread lightly so as to not be boycotted by the die-hard fans, and not alienating the general public who might have only seen the movie, or haven't heard of the story at all. But when you also throw in the heavy themes of race relations, white supremacy, and police violence along with vigilantism, you sit on a political powder keg. And how does the creator, Damon Lindelof, ease us into this tense, alternative history world? By throwing us right into the deep end, with one of the most brutal depictions of one of the most horrific tragedies in the early 20th century relating to race relations in our country.

And God Bless Lindelof for it.

The 1921 Massacre that the show opens on (and the scene that immediately follows it) both sets the visual tone for the rest of the series, and gives the kind of context this show needs for how race relations in our setting have been handled. It is shot in a brutal and horrifyingly honest light. By opening on the silent film of a black lawman vigilante, the series sets up early the dual-narrative structures that we will see throughout, the events and meanings of the main story intermingling with these vignettes seen on movie or television screens in-universe to flesh out the narrative. A young boy watching this film is grabbed by his mother and father who are desperately trying to make their way through the carnage outside in order to get to safety. And once they realize that they won't be able to make it along, they send the boy off with close acquaintances to try and escape. The boy, along with an infant that he finds along the way, will be the only prominent survivors of this horrific depiction. And immediately after this, we jump to the present day (of this alternative history, that is).

The first scene in the present day of the show does wonders to build up what the world is now. Police are forced to hide their identity; Technology has advanced significantly past where the real world is now, but not too much so; People have taken towards an Anti-Police/White-Supremacist movement, taking on the face of Rorschach from the original story, bastardizing his legacy. As the masked officer realizes the gravity of the situation and that the insignificant man he pulled over for this routine traffic stop to be a member of the aforementioned white supremacist group - The 7th Calvary - he tries to get authorization from his dispatcher to allow use of his firearm, but is too late in receiving his weapon and is shot, becoming the crux that begins our story. The main plot seems to center around how the police interact with the world around them in the modern age of this alternate history, and how they tackle the issues of fanaticism. But, as this is only the very first episode, it is hard to say for sure whether or not this will continue to be the primary focus. For the time being, our story focuses on two main characters, namely the Chief of the Tulsa Police Force, Judd Crawford (played by Don Johnson), as he tries to keep the peace while ending the violence from the 7th Calvary; as well as Angela Abar (played by the wonderful Regina King), a former cop injured in the White-Night (more on that later) who claimed to retire, but still works with the police as a vigilante dressed like a battle-nun, also known as Sister-Night.

Little details are sprinkled throughout the episode to further cement our setting, specifically how different our history is from that of the show. Opinions on the Nixon administration have drastically improved, and he is now on Mount Rushmore (likely due to his repealing of the 22nd Amendment and serving a third term in the comics, which allowed him to use Dr. Manhattan to win the Vietnam War). It is briefly mentioned that there is a live feed of Dr. Manhattan who has returned from the other side of the universe, and is currently building and destroying massive structures on the red sands of Mars. Most peculiarly, Robert Redford (as in the actual actor) has been President for over 30 years now, and has instated Reparations for victims of racial violence, which members of the 7th Calvary have not taken kindly to. Also, it sometimes will just start raining squids, and no one seems to really mind too deeply.

The main plot for the episode itself centers on a small base of the 7th Calvary being found by the police, who stage a raid and are nearly killed in a field of cows while being blasted away by a high caliber machine gun turret (Apologies to PETA for the fake cows who died in the collateral damage). This is our primary action set-piece for the episode, and with only a minor hiccup or two, the mission goes very well. Although they were not able to capture any members alive due to either cyanide pills, or being blasted out of the sky by what seems to be Police-Issued-Owl-Ships, they find that the fanatics were mass stockpiling synthetic lithium watch batteries. Whether this is for the 'cancer bomb' that the show mentions, or is merely a red herring to go along with their mantra of a ticking clock remains to be seen. After this scene, there is no big action follow-up, but there my favorite scene in the entire episode, and an exemplary feather in the caps of the writers.

The show has a masterful understanding of how to write extreme tension and uneasiness. Namely, the dinner scene near the end of the episode. There, we have our two leads, Angela, and our Police-Chief Judd having a nice dinner with both of their full families. It is already mentioned earlier that the "White Night" where cops and their families were targeted by the 7th Calvary (the event which led to police hiding their identity in the first place) occurred almost 3 years prior. Furthermore, this scene occurs after the police made a big win against the 7th Calvary, in a scene that almost seemed to go over too easily. On top of which, this dinner scene opens on a rendition of the song "Unforgettable", which was famously used prior to and during the death of the Comedian in the original story and film. As the camera slowly pans around the dining room, the set-designer shines as the audience starts to realize that the front door leads right into the dining room with the family, and there seems to be an endless amount of windows or easy access points surrounding them, setting up this sense of inevitable dread. Finally, as Judd is having fun with the family, singing his part from Oklahoma, the sound of a ticking clock, the mantra of the 7th Calvary, starts as an extremely slow mumble which just gets louder and louder. The scene is perfectly set up for horrific tragedy.

And then...

Nothing happens.

Not yet. We save the horrific outcome for a few minutes later, at the actual end of the episode, where we find Chief Judd dead, lynched, and our only suspect the now aged little boy from the 1921 opening. Our final shot for the episode being the golden sheriff's badge laying in the grass, with a single drop of blood falling onto it, a clear homage to the famous smiley-face button of the original comic.

All in all, this is an extremely strong start to the series, and I am extremely excited to see where HBO goes with the rest of this season. I also don't seem to be alone in this opinion either, as there is a general critical consensus that this show is like nothing else on television right now, and though the public reviews are still getting hit by the controversial themes of race and police relations, along with the die-hard fundamentalists of Alan Moore, I believe that this will turn out to be a wonderful series.

Moodzie loves Dolphins, as they are creatures of the ocean, and tend to live in a variety of habitats throughout the world, from coastal waters to the open oceans, dolphins are living everywhere. Moodzie, will share some interesting tips and facts about dolphins, for instance even though dolphins prefer more of a tropical climate, they are also able to travel into colder water to find food, and yes, most dolphins do ideally live within salt water. The average or preferred temperature for a dolphin is around 10-32 degrees Celsius, as dolphins are a warm-blooded mammal. Another tip, to take better care of dolphins are to leave them within their natural habitat, as many zoos go out there and attempt to get dolphins and in doing so they, leave them in water that many times is of the wrong temperature and also it is not salt water, plus dolphins are creatures of who would prefer to swim around in a more open environment rather than a small pool. Thus, Moodzie believes putting dolphins within the right setting is critical in order for them to survive and function properly. An interesting fact about dolphins is that they breathe air, unlike most oceanic creatures, dolphins are actually mammals who reside within the water, dolphins need to breathe air in order to survive however they are able to stay underwater for about a total of fifteen minutes, as dolphins can swim into depths of over a hundred meters, as they swim quite fast and aggressively. Dolphins like many other mammals, live within close knit groups, as they hunt, search for food, and residence together, rather than being alone, these close-knit groups are known as pods. Dolphins are meat eaters, primarily seafood eaters, as they are predators and they consume a variety of different types of fish. Dolphins tend to hunt in areas where boats are also present, as they know around that area a variety of fish will be readily available. One thing Moodzie really loves about dolphins is the cool fact of echolocation, as dolphins already have great eyesight and hearing but they can also echo sounds and clicks that only other dolphins can really hear, as the echo or sound travels through water, and hits the other dolphin with a vibration of a sort, hence is a common form of communication amongst dolphins. In overall aspects, Moodzie loves dolphins as they might just be the coolest mammal around. Overall, Moodzie just loves dolphins. Below are some awesome tips on these delightful creatures:

Habitat

Dolphins live in the oceans worldwide and tend to live in a variety of habitats, from coastal waters to the open ocean. Even though they prefer temperate and tropical waters, with surface water temperatures of 10 to 32 C (50-90 F), they will travel into colder water in order to find food. Most dolphins live in salt water, but some species have been known to thrive in freshwater locations.

About Dolphins

As a result, the dolphins get a picture in their minds of the object that is in front of them. Dolphins use this echolocation for many things such as; finding food in the dark, when navigating around or finding their way when the water is dirty. When dolphins want to communicate with each other, they make different sounds. These are a long and a short series of whistles.

Impacts

Collisions: Many dolphins are injured or killed by boats and jet skis each year. Speed reduction and dedicated observers can help reduce the number of collisions. Technical devices that sense dolphins can also be beneficial, such as laser, sonar and infrared techniques. You can be very observant on a boat or jet ski and let the driver know if you spot a dolphin. Dolphins do not deserve to be hit or injured in any way. Dolphin Drive Hunting: This method of drive fishing occurs when dolphins are herded together by boats into a bay or onto a beach. Their escape to the open sea is usually prevented by the use of boats and nets. Dolphins are hunted this way for their meat or are sold to oceanariums for profit. This practice mainly occurs in Japan, the Solomon Islands, Faroe Islands and Peru. Littering and Rubbish: Ingestion and entanglement can impact dolphins in the wild. Damage can occur when dolphins eat the plastic bags and other rubbish. With a full belly, dolphins can starve to death as they feel they are full. Also, swallowing rubbish can lead to various digestion problems. In addition, entanglement can also be a problem for dolphins. If dolphins get caught in lines, nets, ropes or plastic, it can restrict their movement. This can result in starvation, infection, amputation and drowning. People can stop creating rubbish and littering, as this can end up in the ocean and waterways. Create less rubbish by using recyclable bags. Also, non-toxic products can be used in the home to prevent dangerous chemicals ending up in the ocean and waterways. Tuna Fishing and Nets: In the tuna industry, nets are set up to catch a school of tuna. Tuna tend to gather beneath dolphins, so the fishing boats will follow pods of dolphins. Once the dolphins are spotted, speedboats are launched to herd dolphins away, while the main boat sets up a long curtain of net. Unfortunately, hundreds of dolphins can still be caught in the net and can die. Contact the Marine Authorities in your area if you see a dolphin being hurt, injured or killed. Feeding Wild Dolphins: Their social groups are disturbed if people feed wild dolphins. This threatens their ability to survive in the wild. It is vitally important that young dolphins are taught how to forage for food so that they have a chance of surviving in the wild. Swimming with Wild Dolphins: When seeing a dolphin in the wild, it is important not to treat them like a toy or a pet. Dolphins seen on television or in captivity are trained and may not bite the hand that feeds them. However, dolphins in the wild can bite when angry, afraid or frustrated. His parents were killed by two assassins named Dio and joe, they also took his brothers and sister, originally going to get him too but they couldn't find him and they escaped once they heard sirens.Jacar was found by his uncle a day later, still in his house, not even the other agents found him, but he found by the sound of crying and a stomach growl, he was starved and lonely, and worse, he was diagnosed with PTSD.He lived with his uncle until he was 9 and his uncle died of illness, but before he died, he told Jacar to find the agency in inkopolis, he found a way to get there and met Capn cuttlefish, along with a young Callie and Marie, about a year younger than him.Jacar, Callie, and Marie were inseparable, they always played together, talked, hung out, and grew up as best friends, they even went into the agency all together. During their training the tree were top of their class. Jacar also went through secret training under the wing of a mentor named master christink.Jacar wanted the title "agent 0" due to the title being passed down his family ever since the agency was founded. Callie as "agent 1" and Marie as "agent 2" They graduated when they were about 15 or 16. Jacar, about three years after graduation, he was sent on a mission out of the country, this causes Callie and Marie to get upset about the agency's decision, but they couldn't change their mind, he was off. They find a way to counter the effects and cure him of the chemical, returning him back to normal.Months later, agent 0 and the wonder inklings go on a mission to take over an outpost, it was ran by assassins. The same kind that killed his parents. He found out his brothers were alive, James, his older brothers contacted him and provoked him to come to him. He accepts and confronts him after hearing news of Callie and Marie being kidnapped by the assassins, including a PF of octoling soldiers. He and wonder inkling jr. Head for the place and save Callie first, but as jacar is about to save Marie, James confronts him. Hey get into a fight and Jacar loses his right forearm. He learns about going "full predatory" and he literally scares James' so much he surrenders, he saves Marie and extracts his older brother. He takes him back to the agency to see why he sided with the assassins, they find the same chemical that was in blueshift. They returned his beloved brother to normal. He began agent 0.1. He also discovered that master christink, his mentor, is the master assassin, and the one who ordered the killing of his parents and abduction of his siblings.Months more later, the events of "zero chances" by @inklingleesquidly occur. You can read them on his blog and by looking at the tags.A year passes and they pinpointed Adrien, his little brother's location. He too has been brainwashed, just like James. They fight, Jacar wins, and returns him back to normal. He becomes agent 0.2.A few more years and he finds his sister in a prison overrun by assassins, he clears out the assassins and finds his sister on the verge of death, the medics tried to save her but her wounds were to severe, she dies in his arms, making Jacar real pissed. Next was the main assassin palace.The grand agent-assassin war. The finale of the gen 1 story. The final battle has happened. Jacar is going to kill the ones who ruined his life. He eventually kills Dio and joe, and the kills master christink, the master of the assassins, and his mentor, saving the world from their rule as they planned to make another world war, and once every nation is vulnerable, they'd take the position as ruler of the world. Jacar saves the world.A year passes. Jacar and Marie have three kids, Emily, Sarah, and John II.10-15 years later. Jacar retires from the agency and Callie and Marie retire from bing squid sisters, now being replaced by Emily and Sarah, along with Suzy becoming the new agent 0, with agents 0.3 and 0.4 aka Emily and John II3 years later. Jacar and Marie open a diner called "jar and mar's family diner" a family business outside of the agency.About 30-40 years later.Jacar passes away, leaving a legacy behind, and a legend. The agency builds a statue of agent 0 to signify he saved the world from war.2 years later. Marie dies, joining Jacar in the afterlife, watching their new family in peace, knowing that the inktran family will live on.

I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.

I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.

I proudly serve my country's Navy combat team with Honor, Courage and Commitment.

I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all.

That is The Sailor’s Creed and I’m thinking that perhaps that’s part of the; it’s all about the mission and duty, which is great but it’s missing things like taking care of your buddy sailor like the Marines elude to in their Rifleman’s Creed as parable of the Rifle to a human, or the Air Force’s and Army’s Creeds about Never leaving a man behind. And beyond that, Leadership; it seems to the silence in so many levels of Leadership between a Captain (0-6) and the Secretary of the Navy or any organization to do nothing and remain silent... Speaks volumes. It is not completely obvious this Captain had his men’s best interest at heart to me, but neither in the hearts of the many levels of Leadership above him, even now or at least not till now in retroactive or after the fact reactive mode to stop the press. Where are the Rear Admirals, Admirals, Naval Ops, Feet Commander and on up? Why would it take a SECNAV the highest level of Leadership within the org to respond and relieve? I can’t imagine any situation in the Army where Colonel (0-6) in charge of anything or even a Commanding General (0-7 to 0-8) having to be addressed by the Secretary of the Army as oppose being addressed by his or her next level or two up from. Or even if by some strange circumstances that it did happen, that the levels of Leadership in between would remain silent. Then again, I can’t imagine any Colonel with any common sense and esprit de corps shooting an email or message of any kind unclassified and to various sources outside the chain of command and actually think they’re some kind of hero and not get butt chewed to say the least... In all my military service, I’ve had the privilege and honor to work with and for almost every branch of our mighty Armed Forces and the Navy though I thought to be the most slack (especially in Leadership) were excellent in their fields and I learned much from them to incorporate in mine. I pray the Navy gets their act together quickly and a Secretary is confirmed, that no lives are loss as a result of the COVID-19 in that situation ongoing in Guam, that the Captain recovers from being infected and receives his just due after a clean investigation, and that we all can learn from this and get the squids back to familiar waters and better Leadership. Amen 🙏❤️⚓️

For the next few years, I've been isolating myself from Inkopolis, and I went to Octo-Valley for a vacation. The only few people I know there are the only ones I trusted to keep me hidden from the public.

My Octoling Rival, Sarah Phenotyne, actually offered her hand in marriage. I accepted it, but didn't work out after just a year. In the end, I have an inkatarian daughter that visits me once a week. This was because I kept complaining to her about how Marie and Blueshift are together, and the only thing she understood was that I was still in love with Marie. And that lead to the divorce. It was also because I still considered her a rival more than a wife, but we did make amends when Kitzeh was born.

When I decided to return to Inkopolis, the first thing I did was approach Blueshift at Inkopolis Cafe without Marie around. I'll never approach Marie in the way I was going to approach Blueshift -- I just didn't have the heart to tell her what I thought about this.

Afterward, I found myself dating my arch-enemy from Leviathan, Calypso. And you would later know that this relationship would bring about Telemachus, but that's a different story that I'll explain later.

And years later, I will do one thing that I will regret towards Marie's new family.

Inkopolis Cafe, Inkopolis Plaza - Inkopolis - 7:30 PM

Agent 7 meets with Blueshift during the closing hours of Inkopolis Cafe, he had two cooks from Alexandria District that once worked at the diner. Agent 7 sent a message to him an hour earlier just in case Blueshift requests a delay. Luckily, Blueshift managed to arrive wearing casual clothing rather than his agent attire; he still wore the visors.

Agent 7 was at a table booth with his favorite tea: ice-shaken hibiscus tea with a teaspoon of melted raspberry sorbet, two teaspoons of ginger ale, pomegranate pearls, and a mint leaf. He has been in this table booth before; He has met with many people there. He didn't bring his green military coat, so he looked like he never aged.

"Mr. Sevenstar... It's been awhile," Agent 7 welcomed suspiciously,"How's Mrs. Sevenstar and her child?"

"How did you know?" Blueshift sat down with him, ordering a small meal.

Deep inside Agent 7, there was something building up; it was full of jealousy and hatred. He treated his hibiscus tea like an alcohol, using it to stave off the envy. He tried to reply without showing any hostility; though, it's still hiding inside. He made a half-lie.

"Agent 0 -- I mean Jacar -- has told me about her." Agent 7 took a sip of his ice tea. "I believe she's your child to? What's her name?"

"Nebula," Blueshift replied.

"Nebula..." Agent 7 is looking at his drink. The two cooks Agent 7 brought to the cafe came in, serving them their meals. "I have to confess that I've seen her at a preschool. I have to say she has her mother's eyes and a part of your ink hair."

"Yes, she does." Blueshift began eating his meal.

Agent 7 mocked him with a quote from an ancient book dating back to human civilization.

"I hope she'll be a fool...," Agent 7 quoted jokingly, "...that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."

Blueshift found it a bit rude. "This is my daughter you're talking about."

"My apologies," Agent 7 continue drinking his tea and eating his meal.

"You know, I didn't expect you to be this friendly," Blueshift wondered, "I thought you would be upset."

"No, no, no, I am really fine. Things have changed." Agent 7 kept two fingers hidden and crossed. "But I'm glad you're concerned about me. This isn't the first time we had conflicts."

"I can hardly remember them, but I can't really call them conflicts." Blueshift felt something unusual about Agent 7 mentioning it. "I can recall a fight between us in Mahi Mahi Resort."

"That was Leviathan's doing, taking advantage of my jealousy. Every time we went on missions and such, I would always hold a grudge towards you for building a relationship with me. In the end, I was willing to do whatever it took to keep Agent 2... I mean Marie safe."

"Well, you have done so very well," Blueshift commented.

When their meeting is over, the cooks cleaned up and closed the cafe. Agent 7 dismissed the cooks, having them leave him and Blueshift in Inkopolis Plaza.

"I hope we meet again... And I hope it's the same with Lee, Callie, Robin, and others. I've met their children in their preschools, but I had to stop for a few reasons." Agent 7 takes off his flat cap and dusts some things of it. "I interacted with them as an uncle and a friend, but yeah..... it felt wrong."

"I can tell." Blueshift was looking up at Inkopolis Tower.

"This city has changed too much for me..... my friends had changed too much..." Agent 7 looks down, but then looked at Blueshift. "Oh, my apologies, I..." Agent 7 clenched his hands into fists.

"It's alright, I know how it feels," Blueshift responded.

"And there's one more thing I need to say." He soon let out his anger with just one shout. "I just wished Marie was with me, not you!" He turns into a squid and super jumps away.

"Huh!? Wait, 7--!" Blueshift is now alone in the plaza.

About 12 years later...

Agent 7 would be leaving most of his duties to what's left of his Splatoon. He can trust in them in managing the Alexandria District. For now, he's going around Inkopolis, giving speeches, lecturing to college students, and, most of all, teaching the young in their schools. One of the those

But there is one school that Agent 7 would be staying at as a teacher, Seaside Hill high. There, he bumps into Marie's and Blueshift's daughter, Nebula, in the hallways. Next to Nebula is her cousin, Camille, daughter of Lee and Callie, and together they're Inkopolis's new idols, the Neo Squid Sisters.

Agent 7 meet Camille earlier, and they got off the wrong foot or, in Camille's case, the wrong leg. He had no time to share some burns with Camille, he's saving up his built up anger so that he can channel it towards his job as a teacher.

In fact, Nebula and Camille have Agent 7 as his world history teacher and literature teacher for the year.

World History Class - Seaside Hill High - 10:15 AM

Agent 7 wrote his name on a large white board and welcomed his students.

"Welcome, class, my name is Jason Gatz-Ling Cassius Jr. You may call by the names Gatsby and Sev." Agent 7 kept a calm posture, and he can see Camille look bored already. "And I can see a few familiar faces and a lot of new faces. I'm quite new to this school."

After his 3-minute introduction, he gave out his syllabus for the students to read. For the rest of the time, Agent 7 gave a brief lecture on what he's going to teach in this class.

Hours later, he did the same in Literature class, but there, he asked Nebula to stay for a while.

Literature Class - Seaside Hill High - 1:45 PM

Agent 7 leans back in his teacher's desk. He gave Nebula a calm but hostile look; she wasn't phased. She did notice there was something when Agent 7 took his hat off: three claw marks on one tentacle.

"There is a reason I'm keeping you here, Miss Sevenstar." Agent 7 takes out a booklet. "I'm assigning you something to do: a 5-page report on Inkopolis's first annual Youth Folk-Singing Contest."

"I think I can handle that," Nebula replied.

"But your deadline would be in only a week." Agent 7 then added requirements. "You'll be limited to 3 sources. The booklet has a list of the source you will not be allowed to use, a list of people you are to mention, and a biography of two retired celebrities. If you don't finish it on time, I will deduct points from assignments I'll give you in the next few months."

Nebula didn't like the sound of that, but she's willing to complete it. She had no fear of Agent 7 since she isn't aware of his relation with her mother. She nods and leaves the classroom.

"I didn't say you're..... nevermind." Agent 7 sounded aggressive when he said that.

After school, Agent 7 heads back to Alexandria District to relieve his built up anger. He can be seen at a gym, fighting the bust of Blueshift. He was using a bamboo kendo blade to beat up the bust.

Gymnasium - Alexandria District - 5:00 PM

Agent 7 is delivering slashes and thrusts, chipping off small pieces of the bust. He kept beating at the bust until his kendo blade losses it’s durability to the point of breaking. Agent 7 got close to the bust and was about to punch it with his fist, but he's stopped by the interruption of an adolescent inkling -- his apprentice.

"Agent 7?" An auburn inkling entered the gymnasium. "... Am I interrupting something?"

"...Oh, Uhm..." Agent 7 knocks the bust of Blueshift over. "No, I was about to end my training. Is there something you need, Justinian?"

"Well, there's this girl that I saw the other day." Justinian stepped closer. "She was with this other girl I believe you but heads with days ago, and..."

"What? Just tell me." Agent 7 stretches his arms and relaxes.

"The girl's' name is Nebula." Justinian saw Agent 7 glare at him. "I made my first impression..... but I got nervous..... her cousin intimidated me..... and I need help asking her out because... I'm.....in love........ with........her....." Agent 7 is now intimidating him.

"You better be careful with a Sevenstar, Justinian." Agent 7 turn his back on his apprentice. "They would say they love you, but in the end, if you don't take action, then someone will swoop down from space to take her!" Agent 7 anger is rising back up. "Girls like Miss Sevenstar are liars and whores!" He picks back up the bust of Blueshift and throws it at a wall, breaking apart.

Justinian stepped back. "I... I think you're wrong!" Justinian glared.

"What?" Agent 7 was taking a few deep breaths.

"I think Nebula is innocent! And I want her to love me the same way I will love her!" Justinian sounded confident. "I'm willing to risk to anything to win her heart!"

Agent 7 was still glaring at Justinian, but he looks down and smiles. He chuckled. "Okay..... I'll help you, but don't come crying to me when she gets picked up by another whether they be another boy....." Agent 7 leaves Justinian in the gymnasium. ".....Or a girl being your love rival."

The Arowana Mall mission that started 7:00 PM was finally complete along with the mission in Kelp Dome. Argus Initiative have sent military personnel to contain the meteor fortresses in the two site.

Cell, Rasbel, Mercury, and Vix were sent back to Octo Valley with Kitzeh's protection. As for Camille she was sent back to Alexandria District to recover. Arowana Mall and the Kelp Dome are now restricted areas since battles that took place there last night left massive damages. As for Celeste, Arsenic, and Hephaestus, they were still working on widening the path from Mt. Olympus to Octo Valley.

Nebula, Justinian, and the equine pack were still in the Blackbelly Skatepark, and there was no word from them since midnight. Hera and Sea Angel Splatoon, who were also at the skatepark, also didn't report back and were still there.

Ebisu First Care, Alexandria District - Inkopolis - 12:00 Midnight

Agent 7 checked on Camille who was still recovering from her exhaustion. Soon his wife, Circe, and his adopted daughter, Sandra, approached Agent 7. He didn't expect them to visit. Sandra was there to check on Camille, but Circe was there to chat with Agent 7.

Circe took Agent 7 to a hallway in the hospital to chat.

"Circe what is this all about?" Agent 7 asked.

"Jason I am worried about you... you haven't been spending time with either me or Sandra," Circe stated.

Agent 7 knew he's been away from his family that he has raised, but his executive and authoritative jobs made him really busy. Thus, his hasn't been visiting his wife and daughter than expected; the only exception were during the holidays, day-offs and vacations. And now that Circe is mentioning this to him, Agent 7 felt some guilt coming from that reminder.

"I'm sorry, but I can't just leave during these times." Agent 7 holds her hands. "If I do, I'm deserting those defending this city."

"Jason..." Circe pouted a bit. "Please... I really miss you. Sandra misses you..." Circe looks down. "What if you died in the middle of battle?"

"I won't die, "Agent 7 assured, "But I have to continue this job--"

"Jason, this can't go on," Circe interrupted, "don't you love me?"

"...I do." Agent 7 gave a nod.

"And you would do anything for me, right?" Circe questioned.

"Yes," Agent 7 answered.

"Then at least spend more time with me...even in times like these," Circe begged.

"I wish I can, but this is really important, if I don't help--" Agent 7 was making excuses.

"Jason, just leave this to other!" Circe just wanted Agent 7 to be with her and their adopted daughter. "You can just be there during desperate times and expect an opportunity."

"What opportunity?" Agent 7 asked.

"You know what I'm talking about! You're just helping people at this times to show you're still a hero in this city!" Circe shouted.

"That's not what I'm doing," Agent 7 argued.

"Oh cut the carp, Jason! All the things you did was for being hero that you were back then!" Circe tears up. "Look at what you've done so far, and look how much you succeeded! Isn't that enough?"

Agent 7 can remember most of those time he saved Inkopolis and parts of the world. And there has been some times he's gone overboard with some of his deeds. Even though his friends and allies left, Agent 7 tried to continue the generations of heroes and agents. It was only when Marie raised a family with Blueshift where his legacy started to tarnish from grief and despair. He didn't want to remember the Achilles's Heel that drastically affected him. In the end, so many people he knew or met were still there, and they pulled him out of the darkness.

Agent 7 stared at Circe who was about to cry. He soon held her close.

"You have to understand that I can't leave all this... but for your sake... I..... I will spend time with you and Sandra... as a family," Agent 7 promised.

"You will?" Circe looks into his eyes.

"Heck, I'll invite Pammy, her daughter Daisy, my mom, your son Narses, and my other children." Agent 7 wanted to make up for lost time.

"...At least we're together as a family." Circe smiled.

Agent 7 and Circe embrace and kiss.

Ebisu First Care, Alexandria District - Inkopolis - 10:00 AM

Telemachus, Willow, Kitzeh, Agent 0, Anteros, and Hermes were in the recovery room, waiting for Camille to wake up. Suzy was somewhere in Inkopolis, gathering more agents allies. Agent 7 was managing his alliance, the Argus Initiative, to stabilize their union and monitor foreign allies outside Inkopolis and Japan.

Camille quickly gained consciousness and got up. She is in a medical patient's down. Athena's spear and the other items from her inventory were placed on a nightstand. A nurse just came in to check on her, and it since Camille is now awake, the nurse quickly left to prepare her breakfast.

"Thank goodness, we thought Typhon's influence got to you." Hermes enters her room along with the others.

"And don't worry about your parents, they visited last night," Telemachus noted, "and Agent 7 assured you'll recover until morning. And they were really worried with Callie thinking you were out there alone, starving, and close to death."

"Figures..." Camille sighed. "We killed that giant, right?"

"We sure did," Agent 0 replied, "And Cell and Mercury told me to tell you that they're thankful of you saving them in Arowana Mall."

"Well, that's good news," Camille stretches, "Anything else?"

"The meteor fortresses in the Kelp Dome and Arowana Mall are contained," Anteros reported, "The places need some repair, but at least your friend can cover the damages."

Camille then noticed Nebula and Justinian weren't around.

"Where's Nebby and Justinian?" Camille asked.

"They haven't come back from Blackbelly Skatepark since midnight. They're probably still there, and so are the splatoons they're trying to rescue," Telemachus replied, "But Blueshift and Agent 2 offered to take their agents to the site to see what happened to them. And they only manage to find Sea Angel Splatoon being the only ones there. Hera reported that Justinian's Splatoon was waiting for Nebula and their splatoon leader, Justinian, to return."

Camille wanted to help Agent 2 and Agent Blueshift and she quickly got up, sitting on one side of the bed. She reaches her hand out towards Athena's spear. The weapon turns into electricity and later materializes on her hand.

Hermes walks over and makes her put down the spear on the bed.

"You should rest," Hermes cautioned, "You've used up a lot of energy as Athena's champion--"

"Doesn't matter," Camille picks the spear back up, "I need to help Uncle Blue and Agent 2." She then looked at everyone else. "I can't stop now."

"So we're doing this?" Antero asked.

"What?" Camille raised an eyebrow.

"Are we going to help rescue your friends in Blackbelly Skatepark?" Anteros rephrased.

"Well shell yes!" Camille gets out of bed and does a few stretches, shaping up for her next mission.

An hour later, Camille would only be taking Telemachus, Willow, and Kitzeh to Blackbelly Skatepark. Agent 0 and Suzy decided to check on all the factions part of the Argus Initiative while Anteros and Hermes returned to Mt. Olympus in Greece to check on Celeste, Arsenic, and Hephaestus.

Blackbelly Skatepark (Quarantined), Inkopolis - 11:00 AM

Agent Blueshift, Agent 2 and their band of Agents can be seen stationed at a perimeter established by Sea Angel Splatoon minus Justinian. These agents with Blueshift and Agent 2 aren't associated with the Alexandria District or with Agent 7's military branches; They're trained to form as independent splatoons.

The Agents with Blueshift and Agent 2 were preparing patrols to help quarantine the skatepark. Agents and Militia from Agent 7's branches were also there, camping near the perimeter with fortifications and battlements.

Hera is seen, talking with a worried Agent 2 who had her mask taken off. Blueshift had his arms crossed as he listened to Hera.

When Camille arrived early in Olympian form, she quickly reverted back to normal form, wearing her Agent Alpha uniform. She ended up falling from the sky; she turned into a squid and lands like any squid.

Hera turned to look at Camille. "Used up too much of Athena's powers?"

Camille returns to inkling form and gets up, dusting herself. "That's what Hermes told me."

"You should be more careful," Hera cautioned, "All powers have their limits."

"Then I'll just rely on this. "Camille takes out the Hero Splatling. "So how happened to Nebby?" She didn't care about Justinian.

Hera closed her eyes and shook her head. "Agent Omega and Justinian got captured along with the Frosted Stars and Galaxa Gems." As a telepath, she can tell most of what has happened. "The horses that were part of a stampede dissolved and were routed out of the skatepark."

Camille didn't want to hear that. Her own cousin being in danger is something Camille will not allow. Theodora and Marcus of Sea Angel Splatoon nod in agreement.

"They weren't responding our communicators last night," Marcus explained, "and this was when we heard a conflict ensue."

Telemachus and Willow arrived later in their conversation. This is because Telemachus took the Sandpiper to get there, offering Willow a ride. Camille could use some allies, but she thinks she can handle this alone with Blueshift and Agent 2.

"Uncle Blue, Tia Marie." Camille already knows Agent 2's identity. "We should get in there right now!"

Blueshift shook his head. "Camille..... I mean Agent Alpha, I know you're determined to go in and save your cousin, but think before you act."

"Oh come on! There's no time to think when you own daughter is danger!" Camille never argued before with her relatives.

"But look at the numbers," Blueshift reasoned, "look at those horrid beasts that have my daughter and Justinian. If we go in there alone without our allies, then you're asking for casualties."

"Then bring them along!" Camille wanted to go now.

"Camille!" Blueshift didn't want to argue, and cooperation with her is lacking.

"Camille, listen to your uncle with respect, I never seen you two argue like this." Agent 2 then looked at Blueshift. "Dear, we can't waste time here arguing." She puts on her mask and prepares her Hero Charger. She calls in all available Agents in the area. "All agents waiting for reassignment, rally to our location."

Soon Blueshift's trained agents, the one that are available to participate in the rescue mission, rally to Agent 2's and Agent Blueshift's location. Camille carried Agent 1's hero roller and Athena's spear in her Mermaid's Purse. Telemachus walks up to Camille as Madoka.

"Cammy-san, Mrs. Noh told me to give you this." Telemachus's Madoka personality hands Camille a wonder ring. "Just in case you want to try out the overdrive mode."

"Overdrive mode?" Camille takes the ring and puts it on. She thought these several modes and forms are too much. "Don't you think I have enough modes to try out?"

"What makes you think that, girl~ You look -- like -- fabulous~!" Telemachus's sassy personality pops out of nowhere.

".....Sorry, it's been a while, but I have to do this again." Camille hits Telemachus's head.

Agent 2 covers her mouth in surprise.

Telemachus was now under his Homura personality. "...Oww... Uhm... thanks. " He looked away. "...Let's go save your friends."

"Yeah, we should." Camille switches her Hero Splatling with Agent 1's Hero Roller. "I'll just stick with the usual ink-weapons. I don't know what's going on with the spear."

"It's probably needs to recharge, like a battery," Willow assumed.

"I wonder why the spear won't function properly right now?" Blueshift folds his arms, and he then shakes his head. "Alright! Agents! Proceed with caution!"

"Commencing Operation Theseus!" Agent 2 declared.

Blueshift's Splatoon advances into the quarantined area surrounding the skatepark. Camille and Willow follow behind them while Telemachus gets into Olympian Form and puts on Hades's helmet, turning invisible and going ahead of them.

As they made their way into the quarantine zone and towards the skatepark, they've managed to detect the horrid packs that are oozing the pitch-black violet ink. Blueshift, Agent 2, and their Splatoons would sneak past them. If it was impossible to get around them, Camille offered to take them out swiftly with Willow and Blueshift as support. And this was done without one of the horrid being wailing or howling for help.

When they reached the turf war stage, they stopped at one of the spawn points. There was pitch-black violet ink claiming the turfs, waiting to be taken away by other colors of ink.

"We're in the park, but no sign of Nebby," Camille observed.

"Hmmm..." Blueshift gestured the Agents that follows him and Agent 2 to secure the area and place unique ink mines.

Telemachus reappear next to Camille and Willow, taking off Hades's helmet. Camille and Willow were both startled.

"Stop doing that!" Camille reacted.

"Sorry, Miss Squidly." Telemachus puts the helmet away. "So I scouted for you guys. The horde here is split up, hoping to expand their turfs outside the skatepark. Thank Sea Angel Splatoon for containing the area . And if you're looking for Nebula, Justinian, The Frosted Stars, and the Galaxa Gems, they're on the other spawn points."

"Good, they're still here." Camille would just need to get to them.

"But.... there's a catch," Telemachus warned, "you know that part in most alien horror films where the captives end up placed in processors?"

".....No... You can't be serious.....," Camille denied before grabbing him, "I can't allow that!"

"I'm sorry, Camille, but that's what I saw." Telemachus looked at Willow who changed into her Olympian Form. "She's a champion of Asclepius, right?"

"What's your point?" Camille doesn't know what the god Asclepius does.

"Asclepius is a god of medicine, healing, rejuvenation, and physicians," Telemachus explained, "I'm thinking that since Willow is his Champion, she can help return them to normal if Nebula, Justinian, and the Splatoons trapped her end up dying."

"Telemachus has a point." Willow know what Telemachus is planning. "It might not be too late to save them from the processors."

"Good, then follow me!" Camille quickly runs off, using Agent 1's roller to make her own ink path for Telemachus and Willow to follow. She knew the terrain well thanks to playing turf wars with her cousin.

Blueshift and Agent 2 decided to leave the remaining splatoons the brought in reclaiming Blackbelly Skatepark. They followed Camille as well.

Camille already reached the central tower with a fair view of the other spawn point. Telemachus, Willow, Blueshift and Agent 2 caught up with her.

"See, Camille?" Telemachus folded his arms and folding his arms. "They're...right over.....there......You seem him as well, right?"

".....Chaodis....." Camille can tell it the him from his black feathers and cock-eyed smile. She didn't want to be around him or even approach him. He betrayed her.

What Telemachus said was true about Nebula, Justinian, the Frosted Stars, and the Galaxa Gems: they were trapped in webbings of pink and purple lattice, paralyzed and lifeless. Chaodis was there, juggling 16 slices of Eris's Golden apple.

Camille closes her eyes and looks away. Telemachus places a hand on her shoulder.

"Camille...No... Agent Alpha, don't avoid him," Telemachus warned, "Ignoring someone forever is worse than confronting him. Otherwise, you'll regret it."

"Neo-Agent 3 has a point, dear," Blueshift agreed, "Just face him."

Camille hated that she's being told to do this. She took a deep breath.

"Alright." Camille then jumped off the central tower and approached the other spawn point where her friends are being processed.

Chaodis stands in her way with the Key to the Underworld that her stole from Telemachus. His smile has never changed.

"Champion of Athena and Zeus," Chaodis addressed.

Camille said nothing and intimidated him with a glare.

".....What's wrong cat got your tongue?" Chaodis asked. "Or are you still bitter about all the things I did before and after your exile?"

Again, Camille didn't respond.

Blueshift, Agent 2, Willow, and Telemachus snuck around Camille and Chaodis. They went ahead to free the lifeless bodies of Nebula, Justinian, the Frosted Stars, and the Galaxa Gems. Blueshift decided to make a change in plans, using his headset to notify Camille.

"Camille, change of plans, one we free Nebula and your friends, we'll have to fall back," Blueshift notified, "Agent 7 dispatched Agent M and Agent C to our location with his Agents."

Camille sighed and gave a smile to Chaodis. "Nah, no hard feelings, Chao-Chao."

"Wait... you don't mind it???" Chaodis not seemed confused.

"We're boyfriend and girlfriend, aren't we." Camille was giving a fake smile.

She noticed Blueshift, Agent 2, Willow, and Telemachus carrying Nebula, Justinian, the Frosted Stars, and the Galaxa Gems out.

Chaodis has hesitant to let his guard down, but he had to follow Cronus's orders: Kill Camille. But at the moment he points the Key to the Underworld straight at Camille, he lowers it.

"And I guess Chao-Chao is a nickname for me?" Chaodis flirted.

"Oh stop it." Camille giggled, but in her head she hated that, especially if she's doing it towards a traitor. "Can't we stop this whole war?" She steps closer.

Chaodis didn't know what she's doings. "The war can't be stopped..."

"You do have the Omphalos Stone right?" Camille pouted with false innocence. "Do it not just for this world--" She embraces him. "Do it for me."

Chaodis was to shocked to attempt to murder her on the spot. Camille was staring at Willow and Telemachus were still there. They were shocked to see Camille do that. Camille made a look that told them to leave now. Telemachus nods and he holds Willow's hand before putting Hades's Helmet on to escape invisible.

Camille then sighed let's go to Chaodis, pulls the Key away from him and delivers a few capoeira kicks to the head, chest, and groin.

"Now we're even, Chao-Chao! You patoot!" Camille was running off.

Chaodis collapses, curling up in pain.

Camille, Blueshift, Agent 2, Telemachus, and Willow leave the Skatepark with their Splatoons following. Operation Theseus was complete. Nebula, Justinian, the Frosted Star, and the Galaxa Gems were then being rejuvenated by Willow, turning their decaying grey ink back to their original colors before they're all rushed to Alexandria District to Recover.

Agent M and Agent C already arrived to help Sea Angel Splatoon exterminate the Typhonian Horde still roaming the area around Blackbelly Skatepark.

One day left until the final battle.

Now that we got your attention with that s music video: Welcome to the Agency, if this is the first time watching this then,

Woooooooooomy!!!

You’ve been employed to join the largest and successful branches in Inkopolis Government. You are one of the many citizens lucky enough to not just be enrolled to the academies in Alexandria District, but also be enrolled into this Agency Program.

[Insert Camille in Agent Attire for demonstration. She’s at the entrance of Alexandrai District]

“Can I go home now?”

No way, Agent Alpha. You have to show these students what it’s like to be in the Agency.

“Oh come on!”

Let’s just skip the history of the agent; you can find that in the textbooks at your enrolled academy in Alexandria District. Let’s start with--

[Insert crying baby squid noises. The camera pans to Pac-man who tripped on a curb. Camille runs over to pick him up]

“Why is my baby brother here!? Agent 7, I thought it would only be--”

[Tranisition interrupts her]

The Agency Today

To keep up with what’s happening not just Inkopolis but the whole world, we look to a veteran we would all know. He’ll introduce you the current gadgets developed for our Agents along with the training grounds.

[Agent 7 introduces a simple keychain that actually carries ink weapons too big to fit in]

“This here is the Mermaid’s Purse, which carries an extra ink weapon and two types of throwing-based devices like the splat-bomb and the sprinkler.”

[He then walks over to a gun range similar to Sheldon’s training grounds. Nebula is there with Agent 2′s Splat Charger.]

“This is where we improve our agent skills and test out new environments, gadgets, and weapons.”

[The next target is a lewd image of Marie and Blueshift, and it’s obviously censored with pixels. Nebula lowers her charger]

“........”

[She turns head head to glare at Agent 7.]

“Agent 7!”

[Agent 7 realizes what’s wrong and blocks the view of Nebula and the target]

“Uhm, sorry about that, Agent-in-Trainings. How do I turn off the cam--”

[Transition to Agent 7 in a lab holding a headset.]

“We’ve managed to make communications better by adding channels and radio. Now you can play your favorite songs.”

[Agent 7 puts the headset down and takes out a replica of the Hero suit]

“And you get to ask the tailor to modify the design of your hero suit to impress the squids out there, you know what I’m talking about, guys.”

[Agent 7 puts the suit down and shows The hero Splattershot.]

“And no agent is an agent with out the state-of-the-art Hero Splattershot. Not the replica this time.”

“....So are you taking all this information in, it’s really important that you know to bring these on every mission.”

This may be overwhelming, but with proper ethics developed by Agent 7, he assured there’s a balance between life and technology. And whenever there’s danger to threaten the status quo, you are prepared to defend Inkopolis from that threat.

And as a Splatoon, it’s safe to only have a team of4 like in turfwars. Take Neo-Squidbeak Splatoon for example.

Alpha is the leader of the bunch, Omega is the Ace Marksman and Second-in-Command, Neo-Agent 3 is the Agent 3 wanna be.

[Telemachus gets offended.]

“E-excuse me???”

[Camille chuckles]

And Delta is the Loose Cannon with a reckless record of trying to be the hero even though she messes things up and ruins the mission.

[Celeste now gets offended]

“Hey! That’s mean!”

But by all means, this diverse splatoon will always be successful with a healthy unity.Then there’s the rivals. For now we’ll call him, Justinian.

[Camera pans to Justinian]

“Sorry guys, but there’s no bad agents here, so don’t expect it in the rest of this training video.”

Training

“Sorry if Agent 0,Agent 0.4, and Agent 0.2 can’t attend, they’re on a mission.”

It’s alright Agent 0.3, we need you to help the Agents-in-training understand this phrase:

HoDu ViTe

“Uhm... maybe it’s best you tell them.”

Well, it means that Agents must go by the standards of “HO”nor, “DU”ty, “VI”gilance, and “TE”amwork.

And now that our Agents-in-Training understand it, this concludes--

“Finally!”

[Camille is heading to the exit, but a large human hand comes down and crushes her.]

Splat!

Woah-ho-ho-ho-ho! Not so fast, Spring-Heeled Jack! This is only Part One of the video.”

[Camille respawns back on a spawn pad, but she did hear what narrator said.]

“.....I’m fine with at.”

[Camille’s eye twitched.]

“I’m totally fine with that..... Excuse me.”

[Camille leaves the camera view and can be heard yelling at someone. Madeline and Rosaine walk in.]

“We’ll be right back, Agents.”
