JUDITH WARD Movie Posters Part 2 - Rising Teen Star [SwMDS]
Judith's teen years were filled with fun and a bit of rule breaking as she tried to tarnish her squeaky clean child star image. She had her first real crush during that time. Co-star Hart Dickerson became her "Showmance " on the young love film ROSS AND OUMOU. Making such films as thriller, THE MIRROR and comedy, IF WE EVER GET THERE also allowed her to stretch artistically. "It was soo much fun playing a 'super-shero' in SUPER WHO!?!." Judith said about her newest action movie. "I don't want to limit myself to any one type of filmmaking." "Doing the independent film musical, FAITH WALKING PEOPLE, was an opportunity to tell a story dear to my heart." she said at the Willow Creek Film Festival.
The Judith Ward Poster Series covers five (5) stages of life, Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elder. Each Life Stage comes with five (5) posters representing various genre of filmmaking, all in Simlish.
Hang these posters in your theatre and community lots to add a bit of fun. Note, posters offer different ambiance based on genre.

I feel like in my mind I have this idea that Z and T (more so T actually) are a lot more modest or reserved (not sure if this is the right word) than other actors their age and actually in a way I like that about them. They are the only ones that haven’t done any racey scenes so far. I know it’s unpopular opinion and probably will be booed but that’s what I personally like. It’s a bit uncomfortable to me when I know every little thing or seen it all and there is so little to the imagination you know. But if one of them were to change towards more “adult” content as you guys call it then I think it would be Z. Just from the pictures she like on IG or the shows or movies she likes/recommends. Do you remember the movie she recommended for the NWH cast to watch and they were all shocked lol. But I don’t know them personally this is just a feeling I get from them.

What on earth is up with the asks today? My gosh lol 😆 I thought it was going to be a chill Friday geez lol.
First of Anon, Z is a grown adult, so if she wants to watch movies about sex or whatever, she can do that? 🤷🏾‍♀️ It's her choice.
I think some fans need to stop viewing Tom and Z as little kids and realize that they are grown adults.
I don't think they're as "squeaky clean" as you THINK they are lol 😆
My motto is: If an actor wants to show everything onscreen, then that's his or her choice. As long as they're FINE with that, and haven't been coerced, forced, or trapped into doing so, then I don't have any issue with what someone else chooses to do with THEIR body in the name of art. It's not my body, so it's not my choice. 🤷🏾‍♀️
Now, if you personally don't like films or content that depicts sex, then that is perfectly FINE. Everyone has their own personal preferences and limits as to what they will watch or fill in their minds, etc. I totally get that.
But please 🙏🏾 don't judge what other people choose to watch or enjoy.

Easy A (2010)
Tumblr media
Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter and John Hughes’s filmography, Easy A takes familiar story elements and makes them its own. Thanks largely to the enormously charismatic Emma Stone, this teenage romantic comedy by Will Gluck offers a lot of laughs while slyly delivering an important message tailored for the modern era.
17-year-old Olive Penderghast (Stone) lies to her best friend Rhiannon (Aly Michalka) about her weekend. She says she lost her virginity to a college boy she went out with. When her story is overheard by the judgmental and prudish Marianne (Amanda Bynes), it spreads around school like wildfire.
Easy A is set in a fantasy world where Emma Stone and Penn Badgley are average teenagers - in fact, Olive says she wasn’t turning any heads before the big lie -, and parents are all delightfully quirky or weird. In its defense, it’s consistent all the way through, and as a high school fantasy, it’s delightful. We could’ve cast someone plainer than Emma Stone (and in recent years, we have, in films like Booksmart) but then we wouldn’t have seen her belting her lungs, singing along with a greeting card, and we wouldn’t have gotten Penn Badgley in a laughably bad woodchuck costume trying in vain to rally up his classmates. As Olive’s parents, Patricia Clarkson and Stanley Tucci are hilarious - you can see where their daughter got her wit from - and the other adults paint this picture of a high school where even when things get bad, they never become THAT bad… until Olive’s lie starts to get so big no one could handle it.
For the most part, Easy A is a light comedy. I wouldn’t say that any scene will have you falling out of your seat but you’ll chuckle a lot and that smile you start wearing just a few minutes in? It only goes away when the film starts to get a little heavier. When I say heavier, I mean heavier for a film that’s perfectly suited for high-schoolers and their slightly cool parents. Now branded as a harlot, Olive decides to use her reputation to help Brandon (Dan Byrd), a classmate who is bullied for being gay. While attending a party, they pretend to have sex. He’s congratulated by his former tormentors. Her reputation is tarnished a bit more… but it’s not like it was squeaky clean anymore, so what’s the harm? You can see how things will escalate from there but it still hurts to see Olive get bullied and endure heartbreaks. It doesn’t matter that a lot of it comes from her own doing because you so easily relate to her situation. Who hasn't wanted to be cool? How many of us lost track of ourselves while trying to be liked? It’s that, combined with that time in 2011 (so 1 year after this movie) when 17-year-old Gaby Rodriguez performed a social experiment at her school by pretending to be pregnant for six months.
If your grandma is a stick in the mud, you probably don’t want to show her this one, and the little kids would have a lot of questions afterward but for everyone else, there’s so much to like about Easy A that its flaws hardly matter. It’s funny and the right amount of insightful without being too heavy. As a bonus, it's got great re-watch value, which means you'll have plenty of opportunities to memorize the snappy dialogue by Bert V. Royal. (On Blu-ray, October 14, 2021)

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022) dir. Sophie Hyde
Tumblr media
Good Luck to You Leo Grande (2022) is an unconventional romantic comedy, sometimes even described specifically as a “sex comedy,” directed by Sophie Hyde. The film consists primarily of intimate conversations and sex between Nancy Stokes, a neurotic older woman with little sexual experience, and Leo Grande, a charismatic young sex worker whom Nancy hires to explore her sexuality. It stars the incomparable Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack, sure to be a star-on-the-rise, who bring to life a witty, provocative screenplay written by Katy Brand. In my video essay, I employed a narrative analysis to discuss the film’s unique four-act structure against the female sexual response cycle. I also observed Hyde’s subversive use of The Gaze in specific scenes of the film. In this analysis, I will use genre studies to compare Good Luck to You Leo Grande to the typical conventions of the Romantic-comedy, then discuss the racial representation of the film against the oppositional gaze.
Tumblr media
Subverting or Evolving the RomCom?
The label of RomCom does not perfectly describe Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, but it also doesn’t not describe it. On one hand, it is romantic, flirtatious, and sexy; it is also comedic, approaching the complex moral qualms of its subject matter with honesty and levity. On the other hand, these same moral themes and Hyde’s more artistic ambitions, such as setting most of the film in one location and the seeming lack of plot, have made it all too easy for viewers to label the film as a work of cinema more “elevated” than a typical RomCom. This assumption not only demeans the hundreds of films in the RomCom genre as somehow “low-brow,” but is also simply a misunderstanding of the romantic comedy as a genre.
In “Genre: The Conventions of Connection,” Leo Braudy boldly defends the cultural importance of genre films, a category which the romantic comedy falls into. He writes “Genre films, in fact, arouse and complicate feelings about the self and society that more serious films, because of their bias toward the unique, may rarely touch” (664). Romantic comedies, at their core, are a digestible way to attempt to make sense of the nebulous concept of love, and the complicated, vulnerable, and often unspoken topic of sex. Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, honors this true nature of the romantic comedy, complicating it one step further by discoursing sex work and daring to represent the desire of an older woman.
Thus the unique “couple” at the heart of Hyde’s film is what sets it apart the most from other RomComs. Popular, mainstream heterosexual romantic comedies nearly always star a man and woman who each absolutely epitomize the beauty standard of the time, and are either young and unstoppable or adults in their thirties with fun yet respectable dream jobs. On romantic comedies, Betty Kaklamanidou writes “One could even argue that the utopian rom com world is the ideal incarnation of a fantasy society where difference is celebrated rather than exorcized, and where every person can truly be equal to the next” (150). It can be said, then, that in this fantasy world, only the most conventionally beautiful people are deserving the most incredible experiences. Good Luck to You Leo Grand abandons this idea of a perfect, utopian world, and exists in a version of the real world. Though unmistakably beautiful, the simple fact of Nancy’s age makes her a subversive RomCom heroine; she is simply an ordinary woman who happens to be older. Leo, too, greatly complicates the squeaky-clean RomCom formula merely in his occupation of a sex-worker. Unlike a certain film known as Pretty Woman and others of its kind, Leo does not need to be “saved” from his lifestyle. In fact, it is Nancy who is framed as needing “saving” and revitalization (something which I will address more in a bit).
Finally, Good Luck to You Leo Grande subverts the romantic comedy in that it does not end as a romance at all! Hyde does not rely on some forbidden romance between Nancy and Leo to keep her film interesting. They begin their relationship as something strictly sexual then form a strong platonic, friendly bond, these two kinds of connection consistently distinguished from romance throughout the film. Still, their once-in-a-lifetime  friendship follows the prototypical trappings of a RomCom romance: the strange meet-cute, the rough patch, the betrayal, and the reunion.
With all this in mind, I ultimately find that Good Luck to You Leo Grande is not a “subversive” or “elevated” RomCom, but simply a sign that female filmmakers are expanding the previously limited notions of what a RomCom can be.
Tumblr media
Laughing Through Color Once Again
There is one unfortunate but crucial aspect of many RomComs that must be discussed within the text of Good Luck to You Leo Grande: the Other. Due to the fact that older women and sex workers are two identity categories which are almost never explored in depth, both stars of the film are relative “Others” within the RomCom canon. Still, the factors of race and class are largely at play within the dynamic between Nancy and Leo.
Leo is a biracial sex worker. Nancy is a white woman hiring Leo for her satisfaction, to feel “young” again. Racial difference is hinted at but not explicitly addressed in the film, though other forms of oppression such as class and misogyny are discussed at length. With these facts in mind, how is the film any different than so many others in which a character of color is used for the development of a leading white character?
I am not the person to provide a sufficient answer to this question. However, I do feel like this generalizing comparison can err on the side of implying that sex work is demeaning, unwanted work. This is a perception of sex work that the film spends so much time and dialogue trying to refute. Leo is proud of his work; he chose this line of work. There are also so many subtle, intersecting power dynamics at play between Leo and Nancy that make it difficult to decipher who is necessarily “in control” in the many sexual scenarios of the film. While Nancy hired Leo and has the ability to refuse his pay or give a negative rating, Leo has much more sexual experience than her, acting as her kind and willing guide as she is in an incredibly vulnerable state.
Still, I think the way that Leo is portrayed and the “colorblind” approach to his race seems to be reinventing the wheel of the “palatable” Other. As Kaklamanidou writes, “This deceptive colour blindness applies to an extent to the Hollywood industry which attempts to metamorphose its ethnic stars into profitable commodities by enhancing and taking advantage of their appealing ethnic characteristics and diminishing and/or defusing those traits that may emphasize
their ‘other’ side” (141). This seems to be a very fitting description of Leo, characterized as a “palatable” Black sex worker. Leo seems to be economically stable and presents himself as classy, presumably appealing to wealthier clients. He also had the ability to choose sex work. Would Leo be portrayed with the same amount of charm and sex appeal if this were not the case?
Finally, the portrayal of postmenopausal feminine sexual desire through the character of Nancy is, undoubtedly, revolutionary and subversive. The film has received several positive reviews from (notably white) older women who never thought they’d be able to see themselves in a RomCom. But the progressive representation in this film only extends to white women. As hooks writes, “Most of the black women I talked with were adamant that they never went to movies expecting to see compelling representations of black femaleness. They were all acutely aware of cinematic racism-its violent erasure of black womanhood” (310). Nearly thirty years after the publication of hooks’ piece, this sentiment has sadly changed very little, and Good Luck to You Leo Grande, though a positive step for some, is no exception.  Ultimately, there is no other film I can think of that is quite likeSophie Hyde’s Good Luck to You Leo Grande. Though it is definitely imperfect, it makes me excited for the future of RomComs.

Book 98 of 2023: A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone
You gotta love this premise: A plus-size adult film star star gets (semi-accidentally) cast in a Hallmark Christmas movie--and falls for her costar. And the execution is honestly flawless! This is the holiday romance of your dreams. Bee (our heroine) and Nolan, the ex-boy-band-star she's falling for, are both well-written, interesting characters; the obstacles to them getting together (they both have to stay squeaky-clean, reputation-wise, in order to make Hallmark movies work for them, career-wise) are believable and practical; and the whole story is sweet, spicy, and very Christmasy. Plus, the "Hopeflix" movie they're making is perfectly, hilariously, Hallmarky. Definitely check this one out if you're looking for a holiday romance.
What to read next: Spoiler Alert, by Olivia Dade, for another completely delightful romance featuring a plus-size heroine and love in the public eye.

Autism Speaks. The worst part about them is that they're the loudest voice out there. So, when parents who are scared and confused about why their kid is not acting like a normal kid should, they swoop in and basically radicalize them with their beliefs. More often than not, they make the parents feel guilty about giving their children milk or vaccines. Worst part about it is, the parents don't actually get the help they need, the kids don't get the help they need, and adults who struggle with autism don't get they help they need since they're left out of the equation entirely. It's this vicious cycle that Autism Speaks started when they decided that autism was a disease that the parents caused that needs to be cured. And since they blame the parents, they can keep their hands and image squeaky clean.
It's particularly hard on the kids. Instead of getting help from an actual autism advocacy group who are trained to deal with this sort of thing and have a passion for helping people afflicted with autism, they get labelled a disease and a set of symptoms. Something that Music, the title character from Sia's movie Music, is reduced to since it's not even about her. It's more about her half sister Kazu and the sister's development in regard to handling Music. The only time we see things from Music's perspective, she's portrayed as living in a fantasyland like an innocent pure child instead of an actual human being. That's practically ableism 101: reducing somebody's humanity in favor of a condition they have.
As for how the sister handles Music...she's encouraged to do something very dangerous for when Music acts out or have a breakdown. Instead of trying to calm Music down or gently keeping her from hitting herself, she forcefully wrestles Music to the ground and presses her body on her chest. This practice has been known to kill people and should never be attempted under any circumstance whatsoever. And it's portrayed as a sign of Kazu's growth.
Even worse, the freakin' actress who played Music wasn't sure if she was qualified for such a role...and in an interview with Variety, Sia admitted that when Maddie (Music's actress) had a meltdown over playing a role in which she was unprepared for, and worse pushed some of responsibility of what made it to the final cut onto Maddie if anything made her feel uncomfortable.
Not only should Sia have KNOWN that this was going to end badly since Maddie was cracking under the backlash this movie was going to generate, not only did she put a child actress in a condition where she was crying, she also pushed the responsibility of a then ELEVEN YEAR OLD of what would make the cut in an ableist depiction of autism, thus putting her even more on the spot.
People...Music is bad. Really bad. Sia acted completely irresponsibly by putting out an offensive film backed by a universally hated group in the autism community, and for putting Maddie through this sort of crap. Top to bottom, this just makes me feel uncomfortable talking about it. Especially as an autistic person who has to deal with this sort of portrayal on a daily basis.
Did Sia insult topic of autism somehow?
Oh honey, it's sooooooooo much worse than that.
Sia wanted to make a movie about an autistic girl that manages to connect to people/feel safe and confident through music. So far, nothing outrageous, just a simple concept that would obviously put Sia's music front and center while doing something nice and educating people on autism.
There was controversy about her not casting an autistic actress as it would have been nice representation, but she could have totally gotten away with that since, come on, hollywood hasn't even figured out Rain Man isn't exactly true to life, they're not ready to have an autistic person playing an autistic character. Baby steps.
The real problem started when Sia started promoting the "charity/support group" that was helping "educate" her on the topic to make the movie. The "charity" in question was Autism Speaks - which is absolutely HATED by the autistic community for things like:
1 - Spreading the myth that autism is a mental illness that one can develop/catch like the freaking flue and potentially be cured of, instead of a neurotype, aka something starts in the woomb and cannot be "cured" because to do that you'd need to replace someone's entire nervous system, which is impossible.
2 - Using that myth to get outrageous amounts of money from people so they "search for a cure" - that doesn't exist and will never exist because curing autism is biologically impossible, AND despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of autistic people don't even want to be "cured" (plus, since said "cure" would essentially mean giving the person a new brain, it leads to the question of "Would I even be the same person, or would that just kill and replace me?")
3 - Using the myth of "We don't know what causes autism" (we do, it's genetic) to, of course, get MORE money from people so they can "do research to find the missing puzzle piece" (if you ever see autistic people complaining about a puzzle piece being used to represent the condition, that's why, it was started by Autism Speak's massive disinformation campains).
4 - Falsely "confirming" things like soy milk cause autism with one of the world's most ridiculous "research", losing only to "vaccines totally make kids autistic, buy MY vaccine instead, guys, I am totally not an unbelievably biased person, it's ALL the other doctors/scientists lying to you. GIVE ME MONEY!"
5 - Pushing the narrative of "autism is inherently a tragedy" to distract from the fact that all the money they waste on stupid shit could be used to help autistic people and their families. Instead, they focus on creating more and more panic, making parents in particular despair even more - to the point that one of their "awareness videos" includes a mother talking about how she wants to murder her autistic daughter and then kill herself... while sitting right next to said daughter.
6 - Promoting ABA "therapy" - which was created by the same guy responsible for the attrocity that is gay conversion "therapy." Both have led to unbelievably high rates of confirmed PTSD and suicidal ideation in patients (victims), and ABA in particular has been compared to literal dog training. Very fitting since it was created by a guy who famously did not believe autistic people truly counted as thinking, feeling human beings, and said as much several times. Despite that, it is still praised by some utter bastards because "it makes the patients act less autistic when they're not crying in the corner or trying to jump out a window"
So yeah, working with these guys is a genuinely horrible thing to do since they're basically a scam/hate group pretending to be a charity - and people were STILL willing to give Sia the benefit of the doubt, since Autism Speak uses all their resources to make sure they're the first thing people see when looking up how to help autistic people.
Lots of Sia's fans, both autistic and allistic, warned her repeatedly, politely, that she needed to supporting them IMMEDIATELY as their goal was the exact opposite of the one she claimed to have - aka raise awareness through an accurate portrail of autism. People were even kind enough to name organizations like ASAN as replacements to help her fix any damage done to the project.
And instead of being a decent human being, Sia decided to cry on twitter about how the mean retar-I mean, autistics were bullying her even when she was so kindly using them for her vanity project.
Because yes, that's how the movie turned out. An unwatcheable piece of garbage, with the autistic "character" being so fucking bad even the people who actively use "autistic" as insulted being offended on our behalf - and of course, she was used just a prop to show how awesome Sia's character was.
Seriously, it was so bad the actress playing the autistic girl was sobbing in between scenes because she knew how it was horrible and she didn't want to insult anyone, but Sia is literally her godmother and helped her career by putting her in nearly all her music videos so she felt obligated to go along with it.
So yeah, fuck Sia and fuck Autism Speaks.

❥ A/N: She's finally here! (I know I say this about all my fics but it's true! she gave me a hard time with feeling like this was just one cheap adult film type of thing, still kinda is but she's pretty) ohh and I'm tagging @deliciousdetectivestranger that asked to be tagged, here you go! The amazing banner credit goes to the lovelies @ilikemesometaetaes and @jimilter
You can't help the jittering of your hands as you– yet again– hold the paper with a rather aesthetic font reading ‘Blissful Hands’, double, even triple checking that you are indeed in the right place, the same font heavy words displayed on the front door of a rather luxury looking building, perhaps getting recommended such a place wasn’t the worst thing that could have happened to you, even if it was so out of your element you had found yourself replaying practised words inside your mind.  You can do this Y/N, just walk up to the front desk and give out your name, it’s all been taken care of, have the massage and be done with it, it’s not like you’ll be coming back, massages aren’t that big of a deal and you’re here to prove as much.
Taking a sharp intake of air that has your head clearing a bit at least for a few seconds, you carry yourself through the small front garden, the sound of the petite zen garden’s fountain calming to your ears. The place is quite intimidating indeed, pristine and with a faint yet very present smell of vanilla that’s probably coming from the humidifier in the middle of the room, the marble floors squeaky clean and surprisingly along with the warm atmosphere once you cross the sliding glass door to the front desk. There’s even some instrumental background music that you’re sure wouldn’t even be heard if it wasn’t for the fact that the place was deadly quiet, aside from the few computer taps from the front desk assistant. Everything’s fine, just say your name and be over with it, try to at least enjoy it. It was an expensive gift.
The front desk lady is quick to notice your presence, voice barely above a whisper when she asks your name and you respond almost too immediately, yet she doesn’t budge or shows any sign of mock at your painfully obvious anxious demeanour “Alright Y/N, change into these, the bathroom’s that way” she momentarily turns around to hand you some beige cloths that are carefully folded in a way that they seem warm to the touch, the fresh linen scent faint yet present enough to have you appreciating it “Then just take a seat over there, I’ll call your name once your session is ready, it won’t be long”
Your smile mimics hers–or at least you hope it does– before you go do as told, clutching the linen to your chest so you don’t accidentally drop them “Thank you”
Truth be told, it was an inner battle getting yourself out there, you would have to congratulate yourself afterwards, your past self didn’t even think you’d get past the main entrance. It had been a tough decision to do so, the idea of your mother spending quite a large amount of money to get you such a present, the way that her eyes got all shiny as she handed you the gift card– she had even placed a small handmade ribbon on it!– overpowered you. It’s not like you needed a relaxing massage, you were completely fine! So what if you were clearly handling work poorly, it’s not like you were the only one out there sleeping at ungodly hours of the night because things just kept piling up to the point where 24 hours a day were no longer enough to get things done. You weren’t even that much into the idea of massages doing the wonders that the internet said they did– as amazingly reviewed as this place was.
You smooth down your robe thrice before heading out the door, absolutely loving the way that the soft fabric feels on your otherwise naked frame, a needed sense of coverage yet not as restricted as clothes were– at least you’ll give them that, the robes felt amazing.
“Y/N?” the desk lady calls, again, voice hushed yet audible enough even as you were seated across the silent room, you lift your gaze at her as she leaves her place, signalling you to a room “Come on up, Seokjin will be with you in a second”
The room is even more dimly lit than the waiting area, closed blinds that barely let the outside natural light seep through the space where they fail to connect with the floor, a pale beige massage table in the middle of the room, not really surrounded by much except for a few dozen candles burning a lavender scent inside the room, giving it an eerily intimate image.
“Hey, sorry, I had to go fill some forms” Seokjin is standing by the door, khaki uniform without a single wrinkle in sight, hugging his form in a rather impressive way, cinching his waist in a way that you hadn’t seen before, long black hair combed back in a casual manner that gives him a rather contrasting look in the way that he youthfully smiles your way “First time?”
“I don’t- “ his eyes don’t leave your frame as you shift your feet somewhat uncomfortably at the playful smile he sports “...is it that obvious?”
“Kind of” he laughs a quieted squeaky laugh before he composes himself “It’s fine, you just gotta relax, it’s what you’re here for. Feel free to get settled on the table, I’ll be right back with my tools”
It proves to be rather challenging– composing yourself, ignoring the fact that you had already been nervous as it was and coming to realise that your assigned masseur looked like that. Now not only were your hands trembling but your heart too. Come on Y/N, would it really be that bad to let such a handsome man massage the stress out of you? If anything, everything seemed to go way better than planned.  You would have to thank your mother the next time you got to see her.
Truth be told, it wasn’t all that intimidating after all, the way that the whole space was minimalistic yet cosy in a way that you did not expect such a clinical environment to be, the few cylindrical candles decorating the room, the faint lavender smell that doesn’t seem quite natural, neither is it quite artificial. The massage table is a bit cold to the touch as you dispose of your robe and settle on it, naked skin against the set of fresh linen, you feel yourself inhaling a deep breath with closed eyes to settle yourself now, there’s really no way back now.
The door faintly clicks open and closed and Seokjin’s steps are muted as he approaches where you are lying down on his work table “Still a bit nervous, I see” his tone is teasing yet warm and comforting, like trying to ease you into it while acknowledging you “It probably doesn’t mean much, but you’ve got no reason to be” you can see him warming up his hands with oil as he carefully gathers some candle vessels, expertly placing the candles inside them and lighting them up so they start warming “You’re in full control of today’s session, we’ll only go as far as you’re comfortable with, alright?”
You nod your head as soon as a smile spreads on his face, you can’t help but fixate your sight on the way that his skin doesn’t seem damaged by the sun in any way, his hair touching the back of his neck, past his ears yet restrained in a way that doesn’t get messed up as he approaches you, taking one of your hands in his, oddly warm as he works it in a way that has you relaxing in his hold long enough for him to work the other one along with your forearms, before he softly speaks up again “Alright now let’s get you on your stomach”
You barely remember having enough mind space to turn yourself over, the sheets beneath your body now warmer as you do so, the one covering your middle part long enough to allow you to move around without risking showing off anything more than the exposed skin from before. You can hear Seokjin moving around and picking some stuff up, the candle vessels, is your first guess, as he towers over you “It’ll be warmer now, not enough to burn so let me know if you’ve got any discomfort please”
Just briefly after the words leave his mouth, you feel the warm liquid dripping from a distance and onto Seokjin’s hands before it drips to your skin just after he lowers the sheet covering you enough to feel the brisk air against your warm skin, the hot sensation of the wax dripping onto your skin easing your muscles immediately even before you feel Seokjin’s hands on you, palms working their way into your skin, massaging the muscles on your back, working the wax in a delicious manner, the relaxing scent of the room amplifying by the second as it engulfs your figure, Seokjin’s expertly adept fingers adding onto the warmth you feel in your lower belly as he starts dropping low enough to cup your waist in between his hands, a breathy intake of air past your lips as he does so.
Soon enough the warmth stops seeping into your skin, Seokjin’s large fingers leaving your back in favour of exposing your legs to the room, the dripping oily substance yet again present on your skin as he starts working your legs, a casual yet compassed motion that alternates to the other side before driving his palms a bit further to your thighs, the way that his fingers caress them, along with the warm wax hitting them, has the pool of warmth inside you increasing by the second, a low breathy moan escaping your lips when one of his hands wanders a bit further to your inner thigh, so close to your heat, you’re almost sure he would be able to feel how wet you had become, a furious blush taking over your face, anxiety skyrocketing as you feel him gripping your thigh as he pauses his venturing fingers, you’re almost sure he’s about to speak but instead a ragged intake of breath– that you can’t recognise as your own– fills the silence of the room before he moves onto the other thigh, biting your lip hard enough not to emit another sound, trying to ignore how deliciously Seokjin keeps on massaging your body, you can swear you feel him lingering further as his fingers accidentally caress too close to your folds and you feel yourself clench around nothing, legs separating on their own before you can feel him retract his hands on his own, mind hazy with what ifs and wanting to be daring for once, you are quick to turn yourself around to stare back at Seokjin, sheet be damned and falling onto the floor, nipples hard in a mix from the exposure and arousal, the look on Seokjin’s face as it morphs from surprised to a cocky grin and lust-ridden eyes as he chuckles, sure enough getting you wetter  if possible.
“So you were doing that on purpose” he makes sure to coat his hands in oil before approaching your sitting form, effectively placing each to your sides as he continues to massage your naked form, looking down at you with a playful smile on his face
You try to blink innocently up at him, playing an act you’re almost sure he won’t buy. “Isn’t  it all about decompressing?” Your hands reach out for him, at the same time as he lowers himself down, breath against yours as your lips almost touch his.
“If that’s what you’re up to” you can see his eyes darkening at the implication of your nod as soon as the words left his mouth “Lay back down, Y/N”
Seokjin makes a quick work to reach behind him to the candle vessel, the melted wax sitting prettily as the candle is still lit, it’s certainly the first time you take a look at the tool, with a leaf-life ladle figure that serves both as a holder and a pitcher as the candle sits on top of it, allowing the wax to slide right off  as he tilts it, the vessel sparkling a pretty golden in the low light of the room as you feel one of Seokjin’s hands start fondling your breasts, nipping at the hard bud jokingly before he starts pouring the wax directly on your nipple, the warmth of the liquid certainly a new sensation that has your mind challenging itself in excitement and confusion as it is now considerably hotter than the way he had done before, with the wax dripping on his hand before it touched your skin, yet your legs try to squeeze shut as he does the same to the other one, placing the holder down so he starts properly massaging them in between both of his hands, the sensation certainly welcoming, you’re almost sure you’re dripping onto the sheets now. It’s not until the third time he pours the wax closer to your nipple, working his way down your stomach, that he notices the way your legs are trying to search for some type of friction to alleviate you that he tuts and uses his free hand to keep them apart just until he can pull you in, manhandling your body so he can position himself in between your legs, knees up, cunt exposed and clenching around nothing in particular as his voice gets lower “Keep them open for me, alright, Y/N?”
You barely have time to register what is going on before he’s diving down to capture your already wet folds in between his lips, a sucking motion that has you throwing your head back in pleasure as ne nips at your clit, tongue licking up your cunt before a cocky smile gets drawn on his face “All of this just from a massage and some lingering touches, Y/N?” two of his fingers come down to separate your folds, his saliva mixing with your juices as he teases your cunt, rubbing  your clit for a few seconds, coating it “How many times do you think I can get you to come before your hour is up, huh?”
He makes sure to alternate expertly between drawing circles with the tip of his tongue on your clit, working you further until your pelvis is rising from the table, before it all dies down with him teasing your entrance, licking all the way up to your clit, slurping noises taking over the room as he seems to be making out with your cunt, just to make it all happen time and time again, the low of his laughter reverberating against your bud deliciously mere seconds before he gently nips at it, your hand coming down to grip at his hair as he rides your orgasm out with his mouth,  your juices coating his chin as soon as you come, Seokjin coming up to plant an open mouthed kiss on your mouth that has you tasting yourself on him, rather exhausted yet igniting the fire all over again at the mess that he appears to be. You can’t even begin to imagine how fucked out you must look.
“Think you can go again?” You want to protest, yet it all dies down as his fingers meet no resistance as he enters you, mind hazy and heat taking over your whole body as you bring his figure down to start kissing him some more, his slender fingers only pushing forward as his thumb starts caressing your clit, squelching noises increasing in volume as he adds another finger, your walls clenching around his digits as he finds your spot, stroking it over and over again, his hand coming down beside you to balance himself as he build a rougher rhythm, his mouth coming down to kiss the side of your jaw down to your neck, teeth sometimes gripping a bit of skin as he keeps his steady rhythm for a few more seconds, increasing the speed as he whispers in your ear “Come on Y/N, let’s bring the number to two” and the way he sucks beneath your ear, along with his hand motions are enough to have you wetting the sheets below you in a  way that leaves you feeling boneless, all ragged breaths and no thoughts inside your mind as you clumsily try to turn yourself over, presenting your wasted cunt to Seokjin as you try to stand on all fours before him, now aching for his cock. Seokjin is quick to dispose of his pants, the rustling behind you telling enough, out of the corner of your eye you watch him stroke himself a few times, half hard as he frees himself from his clothes. His hands suddenly find support on your hips as he brigs you closer to him, testing out the balance before he prodes his hard on to your entrance, your hips bucking back as you hear him chuckle lowly, opting to guide the head in between your folds, coating himself with your juices before he enters you, a languid pace to it that hits all your right spots, head curling into your chest as the discomfort of overexertion mixes with inevitable pleasure, Seokjin is by no means average in size, the way that his cock fits in snuggly inside you, gently kissing your walls as if playfully working them up, leaving them deliciously aching as he builds a teasing rhythm, leaving you clenching around nothing at times before he halts his whole length in with deep forceful thrusts, you’re sure the way his hands keep gripping at your skin will leave marks. You can’t help the moan bubbling from your chest as Seokjin’s clothed torso against your bare back as he starts kissing whatever exposed skin he can reach with the way his hips start buckling faster against yours, the sound of skin slapping skin, ragged breaths and broken moans, the only  things that could be heard within the now stuffy room. The pleasure from Seokjin’s movements distracting enough that you feel yourself clenching around him as you feel an all too familiar warm liquid dripping down from your ass onto the base of Seokjin's cock where you two were connected, the simple reaction eliciting a deep moan from the man behind you that has you gripping at his twitching member for a few seconds before he surges forward and spills inside you, quickly removing himself to stare at the way his cum had began to mix with the melted wax, skilled fingers coming down to spread the mixture in between your folds, the repeated action enough to have you spilling forward with yet another– although less forceful– orgasm on the massage table.
It takes you a few minutes to gather yourself, turning over and realising that Seokjin had taken the initiative to clean both of you up, his figure composed and fully clothed as he sets your folded clothes at the end of the table, you’re quick to hop off the table, legs still quivering lighty as you take the clothes in your hold “So how can I get another voucher for one of those?”
He lets out a rich laugh at the change of demeanour since you first set a foot in his place of work “I’ll see you next month, Y/N”
“I don’t know… I was thinking more along the lines of next week”
Seokjin is quick to press you against the massage table, the end of it pushing into your lower back as his face comes close to yours, enough that you are able to feel his lips on yours, eyes lidded “You really had me fucking you in my place of work” he chuckles as one of his hands cups your chin, mouth hot and heavy against the shell of your ear “Naughty girl”
“Is that a yes for a weekly massage then?” You’re almost sure you’ll get him to break, the look in your eyes equal parts infatuated, innocent and daring and you can see his professionalism slipping.
“Come back next month, Y/N” he secures the loosely tied lace of your robe before he tries to send you towards the closed door, slapping your ass playfully in the process, which in turn makes you laugh before leaning  up to plant a kiss on his plump lips “I’ll see you at home”

Do you mind expanding more on this post (post/657118903103799296/pendraegon-white-people-will-really-be-like)? When you have time/mental energy for it? I guess I follow people who don't really you know, post like this, or just generally miss out on anything that's like this kind of interaction/reaction.
Words are failing me here so I hope I'm making some sense...
hiii anon!! sure thing. i mean, this topic of infantilsation of asian men is quite a complex one bc at surface level, its sorta like, "well what's the big deal in a white person calling a man of colour a baby and treating him like one?" but. there is. and its not a new phenomena either. and being asian myself, i sometimes just .. feel so sorry for asian men when it comes to this.
op's post was, i'm guessing, relating to asian male actors in the cdrama industry. i'd extend that out to male kpop idols too, bc i've seen a Tonne of that happen with them too. this idea of "he's a Baby" and "he can Do No Wrong" and "i Need to protect him!!". like. i understand if that's how a white person may feel towards asian male characters in tv and film, i get that. but towards asian men irl? no, there's really no need for that. they're a grown male adult, they know what they're doing. and it does not help that these grown asian men have to "act cute" and "do aegyo" for fanservice purposes (and you gotta understand that is Very Specific to asian people as a whole tbh), which only further pushes infantilising them/us as a whole, even when they themselves do not wanna do that. but the minute a grown adult asian man wants to be sexy and act his age, its ... too scandalous. biggest example? wonho.
and that then further reiterates my point i made in the tags: that the masses of white people are attracted and drawn to A Certain Type of asian men. they can't be too built and muscular and they can't be too brown or dark skinned and they're iffy about facial hair on them. they have to look "squeaky clean" and "petite" with just enough muscle. and then when these asian men do things that are gnc, which - fyi, has existed in the asian culture for centuries and centuries - white people Lose It. if a skinny looking, lighter skinned asian man decides to wear make up and jewelry and paint their nails and dress in a more feminine/gnc manner, then white people lose it and find that sexy and go on about Genvy. but if a broader, muscular asian man that's darker skinned and has facial hair decides to do that, its unacceptable bc it doesn't Look Right on them. do you see what i mean? they're both asian, so why does it Look Right on one but not the other?
and this isnt even all of it. but yeah, i hope it makes things a little more clearer!

So, I saw this tweet, and it started a conversation about the appeal of Harley Quinn, and I wrote this because I was possessed. It’s long so I put it below the cut. All opinions are my own.
Is Harleen Quinzel overrated? Honestly, I don’t know. Nor do I really care. Plenty of people love characters that others find overdone, and that shouldn’t have any bearing on whether or not they are liked on a personal level. You could equally say that Loki or Deadpool are overrated, and while I do believe race plays a role in why all three of these chaos agents are popular, gender is obviously why more people are vocal about finding Harley played out.
Getting that out of the way, let’s dive into the nitty gritty. What the hell is appealing about this clown to a Black, queer and neurodivergent woman? To start I want to bring into play the idea that what Black women do and don’t enjoy is often put in a narrow box. Growing up I knew my mother liked action movies (even more so than my step-dad- huzzah for breaking gender stereotypes), and in her own words the reason for that is that she likes to see “people who deserve it get their ass kicked”. In our real life, society rarely dishes out justice for Black people the way we deserve, and while the action genre is made up of mostly white dudes, who is good and who is bad are clear cut, and we can always root for someone who punches out racists and misogynists. As a result I should have been less surprised that my mother would like Deadpool, but it still amuses me to this day.
Deadpool, in his sequel film, has a moment when he with no hesitation shoots a man who he knows to be a child abuser, because unlike a traditional heroic figure there’s no question in his mind that that was the right thing to do. Whether this would be good in the real world or not is irrelevant because the catharsis comes from the fact that to Deadpool the child harmed mattered way more than anything other factors in that scenario.
This is the appeal of those types of characters in general. Translating this to Harley Quinn in that way is easy. Evil deeds aside, her initial/general backstory is that she was a doctor (of psychology) that fresh out of grad school was sent to talk to the Joker, who in turn manipulated her compassion and convinced her to free him/join him. In the 90s animated series, which is where she first appears, the episode Mad Love shows us that not only was Harley taken advantage of, but also that she is extremely capable on her own. Batman point blank tells the Joker (after he’s hit her/tossed her out a window) that Harley is the only person that’s come that close to killing him. The Joker (who was initially going to leave her for good) realizes that he’s unleashed someone arguably better than him into the world, and like any abuser decides to get back on her good side to maintain control over her chaos rather than let her realize her worth.
The new animated series dedicated just to Quinn, explores that notion further, and at some point during the second season sees Harley realize that she isn’t a hero or a villain, but rather a reactionary. She seems to have a soft spot for other abuse victims and in the series draws the line at over excessive killing, especially of innocent people. Ivy even states that while Harley is a criminal she is (at least in Ivy’s eyes) a good person. She has after all genuinely helped Ivy, and on occasion has helped save the day of her own free will.
Obviously, like with any comic book character, how she is characterized depends on the writer, but it’s fair to say based on the media I’ve personally consumed putting Harley in a morality box is a wasted effort. What makes her special is that she resides in those grey areas. As I mentioned earlier her ability to reside there and remain popular of course relates to her whiteness, however I do think it’s important to remember that Harley Quinn is also Jewish and is therefore not a complete stranger to concepts of oppression. She is also in recent years officially considered Bisexual, and while all Batman villains are vaguely mental ill, she does fill up that category as well.
I came across a tweet earlier today that suggested her whiteness is why many of her fans have turned her into a girlboss and downplayed her violence. I can certainly see where that person was coming from, but on a personal note, based on the above information that is certainly not the case for me. I know that I would enjoy Harley just as much (if not more) if she was a non-white woman, and that her violence and moral ambiguity are apart of what makes her a fun character. I’d never downplay her evil deeds. Granted, what I consider canon has a lot to do with the stories I’ve consumed (i.e I’ve never read anything about her involvement in the Jason Todd storyline therefore to me it doesn’t really exist), but ultimately Harley is no girlboss. She is a mess, and to quote Marie Kondo, “I love mess.”
To put this further in perspective, when I was a kid I didn’t even know Bisexuality was a thing, but I did know that I liked when Harley and Ivy were together, and now as an adult who is out, seeing them officially canon affected me a bit more than I thought it would. They might not be good people, but I don’t think representation needs to always be about being squeaky clean. And ultimately that’s the rub isn’t it? Harley isn’t exactly like me and I’m not exactly like her, but she represents a level of chaos that yeah, as a marginalized person I’m not allowed to express. She can be a good person, but she can also be extremely outrageous. She shows that being the victim of abuse isn’t about how smart you are and that it can happen to anyone. She also shows that you can leave that behind and get stronger mentally and physically. In the case of the new animated series she does this without motherhood/babies thrust upon her, but through good friends who love her.
Why Harley Quinn? Well, for me my current answer is because she’s complex. If you asked me as a child though, I’d probably say it’s because she was goofy and fun, and I wanted better for her than the Joker. Either way she’s currently being written by a Black, Disabled, Queer writer and as a long time fan, I absolutely look forward to the nuisances that’ll be added to the character as a result.

This ask isnt about taekook, i would just rather not say this on twitter cus twitter armchairs are insane. I dont understand hybe truly. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but the OT7 agenda hybe enforces on the boys is oppressive. I dont like all the pandering they do. The fact theyre only getting freedom now is sad. This is why working for a company like hybe sucks. They look so much happier these days and i find that extremely telling. Finally, they can openly be around the opposite sex and they actually can do things alone. I have a theory actually. Hybe didnt think bts was gonna get as much popularity, i do think bts success was organic. I think if they didnt get as popular, their career trajectory would have been pretty different. I dont think this whole ot7 agenda wouldve been as heavily enforced on the boys. I find it weird that taehyung has acted in one role in 2016 and never did again… like what was the reason? Is it because he really didnt wanna act or because the company didnt let him? Or the fact jin has an acting degree but never acted?
No worries, Twitter is a mess so I totally feel you, and I’m always down to talk about pretty much any topic on here!
There are a lot of interesting ideas in here.  I can’t say I necessarily agree with all of them -- or maybe it would be more accurate to say that I feel like we don’t have enough information for me to agree or disagree -- but I think you’ve brought up some ideas worth considering for sure.
I think you’re probably right about the fact that Big Hit never thought BTS would get as big as they have, and that they probably have had stricter restrictions on them as a direct result of their popularity.  I imagine that’s true of most idol groups, just because the expectations on them seem to be so high.  Look at the backlash Taehyung got from a lot of different factions of fandom just for attending a party in Paris as part of a work event.  He really didn’t do anything very wild at all, but people were acting like he’d been caught doing cocaine in the middle of an orgy.
I think this is an unfortunate feedback loop, where companies put all these restrictions on their idols to make sure their image stays squeaky clean and inoffensive -- but then the fandom expects that all the time, to a degree that’s absurd.  Jungkook having a whole dating scandal because he hugged a girl in public is wild enough, but the obvious other side to that is -- so what?
So what if he was dating her?  Why should that be a big deal to literally anyone?  It’s all part of this weird relationship that the company, idols, and fans have, where they pretend that the idols are literally that: inhuman idols whose whole lives are lived for their fans, or in other words, to make money off of their fans for their company.  It’s a mess, and it seems like it would be difficult to untangle it at this point.
But it certainly does seem that taking a break from group activities for the moment is giving BTS as individuals a bit more freedom -- or in any case that part of entering into this new chapter, as they call it, is getting to have this new freedom.  I wonder if they didn’t just have a talk with the higher-ups at HYBE to basically say that at this point they’re too big to fail and also they’re almost thirty and need to be able to live their lives as adults.  Whatever it is, I’m glad for them.
As for things like working on outside projects, I imagine we’ll never know why most of them haven’t done much of that, how much came from not being “allowed” versus waning interest versus simply not having the time.
Personally, I suspect that in Taehyung’s case, it’s mostly the latter.  I do think BTS has pretty much always been expected to put the group first.  BTS has always been the top priority, until now, so finding the time to work on other things has always been difficult for them, even when those other things were just their own music projects, let alone something as time-consuming as filming something.
With Jin, I think it’s probably more that his interest in doing other things has waned.  Just based on the way he talks about acting, it sounds like the other members are more invested in him trying it out than he is.  I think he got what he wanted from acting by being an idol, and he doesn’t really have the same drive for it anymore.  It will be interesting to see what he does end up doing.  But that’s just my opinion anyway.
Like I said, anon, you brought up a lot of interesting topics here!  Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and of course I’d love to hear more, from you or anyone else!
