Since I’ll be here, I suppose I might as well contribute in someway to the camp and lend out my services.

I’m planning on doing an etiquette class/session/whatever you want to call it. I’m going to go over proper dining etiquette, manners, etc. It won’t be fun and I will more than likely be yelling at you if you eat with the wrong fork, but at least you will walk away being able to dine at a 5-star restaurant without embarrassing your date. I’m sure some, if not all of you, can benefit from some manners. We may live in Lima, but we don’t have to act like it. 

Now, that all being said, can’t wait to spend my summer with all of you instead of being on a beach sipping cocktails.

When the chalk hit the side way, Sébastien could hardly stop himself from gathering up all the colors. The week before, he took the liberty of ordering an entire box so share with everybody. With glee, Sébastien got to work. He took the chalk in his left hand and started to trace out his vision for the Earth Day drawing. Just like every time he started to paint, draw, or do general art, Sébastien was lost. His brain completely ignored anything and everything (part of what made him an easy target for anybody to sneak up on him). Hours passed. The sun was beating down on the back of his pale neck. Finally, he finished with the fine details and he looked up at the whole picture. He was covered in sweat and colorful chalky ash. He sat like a child on the concrete, his legs long legs were tucked underneath him. It was when he stood up that he started to look around confused, like he didn’t know where he was for a moment.

And the flames went higher..!

This week, the McKinley staff thought it would be a smashing idea to burn a huge campfire at both campsites every single night.. and all day, every day! After all, who doesn’t like staring into a huge wall of flames and contemplating every single mistake you have ever made in life? Not this gal!

And it totally absolutely definitely does not have anything to do with the fact that we are currently burning everything that was inside that run-down old double wide that sits between the boys’ and girls’ camps. Not. At. All.

But what’s that smell?...

I think we made a horrible mistake.

HOW IT WORKS

This week, there will be constant campfires by burning the contents of that mysterious old double wide trailer that sits between the two camps.

Because of this... CHARACTERS ARE POISONED BY THE SMOKE TO BE TRULY HONEST.

When your favorite dice gives you a one on a saving throw

That’s right, I’m doing a Dungeons & Dragons teaching exercise, since this summer. If you don’t know how to play, come and I’ll teach you. If you do and want to learn the ins and outs of being a Dungeon Master, I will teach you that as well, since I am an experienced and seasoned one.

This whole camp thing sounds cool, as long as it doesn’t interfere with my D&D nights.

Okay, hear me out. Shrek. 

Yes, Shrek.

It has everything. An iconic cast. Life lessons. An outstanding soundtrack. Humour. A talking Donkey. A feminist icon that is Fiona. Lord Farquad.

It is hands down the best movie, ever, and there are several articles to back that point up. I think we should definitely watch Shrek because it is something everyone can enjoy and if you say you don’t like it, you’re lying. (Kidding. Sort of.) 

It’s a fairytale parody and that alone makes it the best movie because it tells a story involving a concept we are all aware of; of characters we grew up with, but it tells it in a funny and original way. Plus, did I mention Donkey?

It’s not too serious that it’ll bore people, but has some awesome messages in it; it’s not too lovey dovey that people against love and feelings will feel nauseous; but Fiona and Shrek are goals; it’s funny in all the right places, and witty, it makes you laugh and cry (or at least it does me) and you can also have a little bit of a sing along. It’s got everything and it’s just a fun little film. 

10/10 dentists recommend.

Since no one else is going to mention it, I will. Believe me, I love all of the choices of the movies and everything else, but let’s be real. We need to watch Legally Blonde for movie night. Why you might ask? Because not only it shows a strong ass woman, who undermines ( I hope I used the right word) an asshole like Warn, but it has female empowerment. It also shows an independent woman making it into Harvard Law when everything is against her. For today’s society, we need to remind ourselves that the future is Female and that is what exactly Legally Blonde shows.

It also shows not only one, but two women leaving their men after getting treated like shit. Also, who doesn’t love Reese Witherspoon? Sure she was in Cruel Intentions but this movie put her on the map and as a society, we owe her a lot of things.

As he charged out of the room, Sébastien stumbled over the body from earlier. Confused, he looked back at the girl moaning on the floor. He reached down and turned her over and jumped at the site of her pale face. “This is not real.” He whispered to himself. He left her there and traveled through the hallways, looking for a way out and avoiding the blanked face students. 

He got to a door and attempted to push it open. He tried the one next to it. Nothing. His eyes scanned the hallways to see one particular student crying in the corner. He stepped forward toward her. “Suzy?” He asked when he recognized her bright red hair. “Are you okay?”

Lights, camera.. ACTION!

You heard it here first. Dean Figgy has nabbed us a pretty sweet retired drive in projector so we can chill out together and watch a movie. Now we are settled into our gorgeous little cabins, it’s what we need.

One catch though? We can only show one before curfew on Saturday night so we gotta pick our cinematic masterpiece.

I’m ready to hear all your ideas, kiddos. 

HOW IT WORKS

This week, characters are going to be able to put their best foot forward and throw in an idea for movie night. 

Your character is going to make a post announcement about their favorite movie, and why it should be THE movie that everyone can enjoy this weekend.
