"Transformers" (2007) is a spectacular action movie by Michael Bay with impressive special effects and robot transformations, which set a new standard for the genre. The film thrills with spectacular battles and energetic music, but often suffers from a weak plot and superficial characters. Spectacular, but more focused on action than on the depth of the story.

Three stars - excellent action, but with flaws in the plot.
