BBN (BuiltByNim) Linear Switch x Ciel65
Because I missed last Saturdays post and was being a bit lazy until now y'all get a twofer from me today with both a build and a switch post in one!
I'll get into the meat of the switch below the cut, but I got a 90 pack of these curious fellas as part of mykeyboard.eu's surprise switches round 5 offering for just 17 euro, which is a steal compared to the normal 6.81 euro price tag on a pack of 10.
Before I start rambling on any longer, here's the specifics on the Ciel65 Build you're seeing in the picture at the top:

With that out of the way, let's dive a little deeper into the specifics of the BBN Linears starting with their rough specs:

Now, these are fairly common materials that are being used here, but what I find particularly interesting is the deviation from the norm of using using transparent polycarbonate as the material for the bottom housing when it's usually used for the top housing. This makes me want to toy around with different plate and keycap materials to see what sounds I can get out of them.
When I got them, considering I got them as part of what's essentially a switch lootbox, I didn't know what the specs of these were, nor if they came factory lubed or dry and from initial playing around with them I was sure they were very lightly factory lubed from the rather slick push feel and lack of any pinging from the leaf and spring. Now imagine my surprise when I opened them up to a completely dry stem and spring!
The stem tolerances are fairly tight with a slight bit of wobble and the housing fits really tightly into the alu plate of the Ciel65, so much so that my thumbs are a little sore from trying to get them into the board.
I quite enjoy these, even if the flat sound profile isn't 100% my thing and I bet you could get them smoother with either a light lube job or some breaking-in. Having the option for rather clear RGB lighting due to the clear bottom housing and plain white top housing for those people who love their light machines is a neat bonus. If you like this kind of linear switch then they should be worth the full price.

"Last call for coffee!" Nina called, pad of paper in hand as she walked through the kitchen. It was still early in the morning. Price had everyone come in early to learn the new menu for Spring. As a treat he offered to buy everyone coffee from the cafe down the street along with taste testing the new seasonal pastries from Los Vaqueros bakery. He and Simon were currently making eggs and sausages for everyone.
"We really need to get an espresso machine," Price chuckled, looking at the list over her shoulder. "Put an extra shot in my americano, would you, love?"
"We are leaving!" Kyle came up behind her and lifted her by the waist. He carried her to the back door as she fought to be put down. "Your carriage awaits."
They decided to take Kyle's car just so they wouldn't have to carry twenty coffees back.
They'd just pulled out of the parking lot when they were struck, another car slammed into the front and door of Kyle's side. Their car was pushed into a light pole on the pavement.
"Nina! Look at me. We're okay. We're okay." Kyle cupped her face. She was hyperventilating, her whole body shaking. She'd been terrified of accidents since her family's passing in one a few years ago.
"Rudy! Get Price!" Alejandro yelled, having pulled over to the side of the road. He opened up Nina's door.
"You two okay?" He was already set on unbuckling Nina. "I got you, Cariño."
He lifted her up and out bridal style. Kyle unbuckled and crawled over the seats.
"I got you, mate." Simon appeared and hooked his arms under Kyle's and lifted him out.
"You broken?" Price asked, a small flashlight already in hand to check Kyle's eye movements. "Concussion."
“Where’s Kyle?” Nina cried. Alejandro had set her down in the drivers seat of his delivery van.
“He’s okay. He’s right over there.”
Kyle locked eyes with her and mouthed “I’m okay. I’m okay.”
He felt dizzy and unstable, clinging to Ghost.
“John, I’m sorry. I… I didn’t see it. I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to apologize for, son. This is not your fault.” Price held his shoulders reassuringly. “You’re both okay. That’s what matters.”
He turned to Ghost.
“Simon, take him inside. I’ll check on Nina then we’ll take them both to hospital.” He leaned in, lowering his voice. “Cunt drove away. Find him.”
Ghost nodded. Johnny, the new bartender, met them at the door.
“C’mon mate, let’s get you water.”
He was always impressed by Price’s ability to keep his cool, go “captain mode” when needed even when he could tell how scared he was. He could hear Nina sobbing until the restaurant doors shut.
“I think her head hit the window. She has a bump growing.” Alejandro said as he stepped aside for Price.
“I’m gonna check if you have a concussion, okay love?” He cupped Nina’s face, she did have a bump just above her ear. She was still watching Kyle be taken inside. “Kyle’s okay. We need to check on you, now.”
She nodded, holding his forearms tightly. Her eyes didn’t dilate as he shown the flashlight.
“You have a concussion, too. How do you feel?” He wiped some of the tears from her face. It drove him mad, seeing her cry. She looked so much like her mother.
“I… I’m… I don’t know,” she broke down into tears again, hiccuping softly.
“I got you. You’re okay.” John pulled her into his arms. He kissed the good side of her head and rubbed her back.
“Dad, I’m scared.” It was a mumble from him, he could have been wrong in what he heard. Her brain had just been rocked around in her skull. She didn’t know what she was saying.
He forced himself to regain composure in a moment. He couldn’t get emotional. She and Kyle needed to go to the hospital. Kyle’s parents needed to be called. The car moved.
“It’ll be okay, Nina. I got you.” Your dad’s got you. “Let’s get you some water, yeah?”
He picked her up, holding her to his chest, the same way he did when she was little.

Tommykaira M30&M20 Evolution has been released by Tomita Auto. Here, let's focus on the M20 and introduce the evolved form that lives up to its name.
Before we talk about the Evolution, let's first add a little explanation about the M20. The base vehicle is the Skyline GTS-t, and the suspension and engine are tuned based on this. However, with regard to the engine, the minimum tuning is a self-imposed task, and basically only the engine control unit and the intercooler have been replaced. Furthermore, even the muffler has not been modified for boost pressure.
With this basic tuning menu, it delivers a maximum output of 250ps/6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28.0kgm. Suspension changes include strut tower bars, Nismo dampers, reinforced springs, and reinforced stabilizers.
In addition, it is equipped with original aluminum road wheels (7JJ x 16), aero parts, steering, and shift knob (this is also Tommykaira's identity).
The Evolution is characterized by changes to the exterior design based on the M20. Fluid form is adopted for the front and rear spoilers, and the know-how for the rear spoiler has been cultivated in the touring car race Gr A M3. It has movable flaps.
The test car also had two Recaro bucket seats, an exhaust temperature gauge, an inside/outside temperature gauge, and an oil temperature gauge were added to the center console, and the speedometer was also replaced with a 300km/h scale.

In particular, the feeling of torque from 4500 to 6500 rpm far surpasses that of the normal skyline, and the test drive on winding roads was all about the fun of drawing out that power.
The engine, which dislikes high-power machines that consume gasoline like hot water, and has been kept to a minimum of tuning, can certainly be increased in power by replacing the muffler and increasing the amount of fuel in the high rotation range. I think that especially at 7000-7500 rpm, I was puzzled at first because the power didn't follow, but the engine doesn't just run. If you run according to the characteristics of the engine, you can freely drive the car so that it hits the counter lightly when entering 3rd gear.
The engine has a power band of 4500-6800 rpm. 3000 rpm or less can not be used for anything other than running around the city. However, this is the same for normal cars. In this powerband, the 205/55R16 Botenza RE71 can take the slide wherever you want it.
What's more, the rear slide doesn't slide indiscriminately, and the tires are well in contact with the road surface even when pushing into corners. Basically, it has a very high stability, and even if you start sliding, the traction will be sideways.
I can't run away
If you apply power, you can drift freely, but if you change the way you drive and save your step on the accelerator, you can enjoy stable grip driving and enjoy fast driving.
For the M20 , it would be a mistake to stop at just talking about the engine. Mr. Kaira's magic as a tuner extends to suspension tuning. Suspensions with high roll stiffness probably use springs with fairly hard spring rates.
The reason why it's so comfortable and surprisingly comfortable is that it's done with straight springs. In the low-speed range, the shock when driving over rough roads is milder than that of a normal car, and the reaction force is stronger in proportion to the contraction of the spring.
The balance with the damping rate is something where you can feel the reaction force of the spring while running.
And, of course, the damper capacity must not be exceeded.
For example, when the accelerator is turned off, the rear end is swung with all one's might, the car changes direction, and the accelerator is turned on again to restore grip and go up a corner. I don't think so. The attitude of the car is very stable.
The response to steering is also accurate, and you can put the car on the line you want. The handling is slightly under-under, which is very close to neutral. Therefore, even if you push into a corner while gripping, you can feel that the rear suspension is firmly gripping the road surface, making it easy to determine the accelerator step and steering angle. To put it another way, you can get a clear picture of your current situation because you receive reliable information from your car.
The Skyline is a very well made car. That's why it's much more fun to ride a normal car than to do half-hearted tuning, but if you ask me, I want a little more power and torque. That makes running even more fun. Of course, the speed range will increase, so I would like to make some adjustments to the suspension. The M20 Evolution fulfills that desire at a very high level. Bio: Not much is known about Jedikiah's parents or childhood, but his young brother Roger 'broke out' in his teens, which prompted Jed to study him and his kind, wanting to help him. This led him into the field of Genetics, completing his undergrad at Columbia and his doctorate at Yale. During college in 1989, Jedikiah met a vivacious young woman on Spring break. Unknowingly, he impregnated her.
The Founder hints that Jedikiah was jealous of his brother's abilities; this is also strongly suggested by flashbacks. In Thanatos, it is also shown that Roger taught Jedikiah tricks about how to resist having his mind read. The fact that they shared this and worked together in later life suggests that they were close in childhood.
However, as adults, the brothers’ relationship began to deteriorate. Jedikiah’s desire to understand the evolutionary miracle of his brother’s gifts (and how he could attain them) often went opposed to Roger’s sense of purpose to protect people like him and develop his gifts as far as possible.
After an introduction, Hugh Bathory, the brothers, and old mentor Aldus Crick started Ultra with the intention of studying the homosuperior/tomorrow people. It seemed it would be an organization for the good of the homosuperior kind.
But there was a darkness festering. Roger found out Bathory had been testing on their kind, with Jedikiah’s study of the results. This lead to both Roger and Crick leaving Ultra and disappearing into the wind. Jedikiah lost contact with his brother and his family, only seeing his brother briefly as Roger began to destroy Ultra from both outside and within (sometimes literally), due to the experiments Bathory was employing-- with intention to eradicate the human race.
During this time, Jed took on a new trainees, significantly Killian McCrane, John Young, and Liam McKinley.
He connected especially with John, seeing him as the son he never had, often treating him as his favorite young agent and protecting him from severe consequences in his adolescence.
After putting Killian through the Anax product-- and Killian subsequently 'losing it', the plan his brother and him had was quickly falling to pieces. Until John turned out to be the perfect subject. While Jed didn't want to put John through the regimen, John insisted. John survived, and was competent with no signs of mental deterioration such as Killian had suffered.
The plan was back on. Jed had John kill Roger, successfully initiating an avalanche of events which ended with Roger's 'death', John defecting from Ultra, and Bathory's plans put on hold. Jed stayed at Ultra, turning the program from a study to a paramilitary operation. The new Ultra detained homosuperiors deemed 'threats' to exposure and humans, removing their powers or killing them.
When Roger's oldest son broke out, Jed was ready, testing the strength of the Tomorrow People by letting them rescue Stephen, recruiting Stephen to Ultra in the aftermath, and setting up the pieces on the board to play out to his ultimate goal-- End Hugh Bathory, his Machine, and go back to his science.
There were several unexpected complications, of course, but like any decent chess player, Jed was aware of Zugzwang. And utilized it, no matter the cost, until Bathory was gone.
He was last seen escorting a brain washed and re-powered John out of the office of a senator they had just threatened.
And Jed gave John has a list of recruits, the Tomorrow People... John's old friends. And Jed's daughter that the younger man never knew he'd been protecting all these years.
It was time to get back to work.
