The Titanoboa, is a 48ft long snake dating from around 60-58million years ago. It had a rib cage 2ft wide, allowing it to eat whole crocodiles, and surrounding the ribcage were muscles so powerful that it could crush a rhino. Titanoboa was so big it couldn’t even spend long amounts of time on land, because the force of gravity acting on it would cause it to suffocate under its own weight.

The use of ekyogero is widespread in Uganda, but it is more common among tribes from central, western and south-western Uganda. Rose Namuli, an elderly Muganda woman, says according to the Kiganda culture, the herbal bath is a must for a newborn baby. Traditionally, the baby's grandmother gathered particular herbs like olweza, ebombo, omwolola and omwetango. In addition, she had the responsibility of teaching her daughter-in-law how to boil the herbs and bathe the baby, she explains. According to Namuli, not only is the herbal bath used to cleanse and give the baby a smooth skin, it is also believed to bring good luck to the baby and ward off curses. She adds that ekyogero prevents skin rash (enoga). Norah Ahabwe, an elderly woman from Mbarara, says when a newborn baby is bathed in ekyogero, she gets good luck and is given some to drink to protect it against diseases like malaria. She says the herbal concoction also boosts appetite and cleans the digestive system. Jolly Byenkya, the minister of culture in Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, says about 10 herbs are gathered and boiled to make ekyogero. She says the baby is bathed in the herbs from the first day of birth up to three months. The family and community are the principal context for human development. Of all the settings that help make us human, the family provides the most important developmental conditions: the love and care of that a child needs to live. A healthy child and future adult is one who has such a devoted people actively engage in its life – those who love it, spend time with it, challenge it, and are interested in what it does and wants to do, and what it accomplishes day to day. Hence, the family becomes the starting point for restoring our people to their traditional greatness. Like a set of Russian doll, the context of human development work in a nested fashion, each one expanding beyond but containing the smaller one. Each one simultaneously influences and is influenced by the others. Thus the context of family fits into that of the neighborhood, and the context of the neighborhood into the larger context society and culture.
