tell me why i saw this and immediately thought joexloe where she’s talking with matty and joe’s there trying so hard to not be jealous and trying to figure out if her and matty are #just friends and matty tries to include him in the convo but sees the glances joe’s sending to loela and is like instant overprotective bestie/brother vibes

yes! because even though matty moved out, he and loela still formed a bond because of how close they were in age and she was basically always around. so anytime she sees him she gets excited and asks about his family, even if she was talking about dinner plans with joseph after she was done with the tavares kids that night.

matthew’s not immune to the annoyed look on his teammates face, so he tries to smooth things over with, “have you been to that burger place downtown yet?”

“oh, the one we went to? i’ve been wanting to go back so bad,” loela groans and joseph rolls his eyes. loela spots it this time and she quickly says, “we talked about this.”

before going back to asking matthew about when his mom was coming back into town because she the woman owed her lunch for helping her son decorate his apartment. joseph feels his cheeks burn as he reaches out a careful hand to wrap around her leg and pull her closer, a subtle gesture. he worries she may pull away, but she leans into his body and rests her hand in his hair as she starts making plans with matthew for a double date the next time his girlfriend was in town.

and joseph was just so excited for that one.
