Paranormal Humanstuck Style AU: Dave Strider Edition

This blog is going to be experimental on my part. I wanna try writing some more, use this to test out art styles on occasion, etc. and I just think it would be fun!!! I used to have some ask blogs waaaay back when, I have old art of them too haha, but forgot all my old passwords. The gist of this is; Dave survives jumping off his roof top and winds up with ghost powers. Danny phantom style! He remembers dying, he’s sure he did, but now he’s in a hospital?? The fuck? Now he’s living with Dirk and his boyfriend Jake in a city over, and they run a paranormal investigators company! And by company it’s just the two of them. They’re working on it. Dirk does coding work on the side and Jake is a substitute research teacher for a nearby college. Over time, as Dave gets better, gets medicated, works through his shit, he discovers he can,, phase through things. Wanders the city at night in his dreams, and even sees full apparitions in his new house. Will he tell Dirk and Jake? Probably not anytime soon, he doesn’t want to worry them right now with everything going on. So he’s gonna do what all Striders love to do and ignore a problem until it’s too late. I’m planning for this blog to be formatted as his video diaries and anonymous blog and such. That might change later, as I add in more characters and such. Any triggering content I’ll put behind big disclaimers! It won’t be all serious though, so don't worry. I’ll probs make a mod blog later, and I’ll do a proper introduction post,, at some point haha. DS9 2x09 Second Sight thoughts (rewatching, so possible future spoilers)

Jake and Sisko scenes are always wonderful, he's such a lovely dad

Lofton's such a good actor! For a kid!

I kind of do forget how much Jake and Sisko lost, this is one of the times when you remember how big a deal it is to them, when it is such a little part of DS9 to us

OH, IT'S THIS ONE! Always excited when I realise I know an ep XD

I remember when I thought she was going to be Kasidy XD Not knowing the first time I watched this anything about Kasidy apart from her name and her relationship with Sisko

This episode is actually just sad when you already know the outcome of the weird spoopy mystery

Haha, Kira looks SO WORRIED that Sisko is cheerful in the morning XD

Jake just knowing that Sisko is in love

LOVE seeing the everyday working of DS9 - Odo telling his security about a telepath risk we never (?) see

Odo's frustration at Sisko's awful description of the woman he wants Odo to look for XD

Sisko definitely has weird energy this episode, usually when Sisko is like this he's possessed or something

Really not sure how Julian can be enjoying this, does the man not suffer from second-hand embarrassment? (Tbf, this is Julian, it might explain a lot if he just doesn't suffer from embarassment?) Or maybe he's enjoying everyone being annoyed at someone who's not him? XD

LOVE how Dax realises instantly that Sisko's woman is Nidell, barely even a glance needed!

Quark trying to lend a listening ear to Sisko XD Is he just trying to make an easy sale to a sad boi?

"So disappointed Sisko finished his sentence" > I don't for the life of me know what I meant by that, okay past Andi...

Okay, I really hate this "she mates for life and can't leave me" thing - why marry her if you know that? (Yes, he might have told her about his past wives and she may have made an informed choice about marrying him > but I still feel like it was taking advantage of her, seeing as he clearly has the self-awareness to know that he's an ass)

Not really sure how to feel about this guy in the end, but I'm kinda glad he's dead? Well done for being not totally awful I guess?

It's just a bit of a weird episode really, isn't it, although there are some great parts.

Ok, I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but I need to know I'm not crazy so you all get to hear about this weird ad I got while watching a YouTube video for...something. I can't for the life of me remember what it was for ( so not very effective ad ).

Anyhoo, it opened on a haunted house kind of shot and zoomed into a dark room where the mascots of different insurance companies (think the Geico gecko, Jake from State Farm, ect.) were gathered around the table, but they were actually showing an evil side to them, so they had slightly different names and looks but you could easily guess who was who. The Geico Gecko (dunno if it has a name, never thought that much about it.) called the meeting to order and, after a few seconds, asked Mayhem (Allstate-forgot which one he was,had to look that up. Remebered the commercials though) and Doug (Liberty Mutual-knew that one) role played a customer and company. Mayhem (customer) was trying to file a claim but Doug (company) was making it difficult and Mayhem eventually said the word Lawyer which all companies panicked over acting as if it were a curse. New guy (State farm) said it again, got the table panicked again saying not to say that word then the ad ended.

Again, I don't recall what it was trying to sell me, I think it was for a lawyer based on context, but yea, I don't remember that. I just remember the characters who, honestly, were kind of fun to watch. Did anyone else get this ad or did I weirdly imagine it? Pretty sure it was real, probably made for spoopy season, but I...yea. it was weird.
