BOO!

Harry sighed. “I hate reading!” He closed his current case file and face-planted his desk.

“Potter, please kindly shut up!” Draco snarled, Harry had been complaining for the last half an hour and it was worsening Draco’s already bad mood.

“But Draaacoooo, I want to go home!” Harry whined for the 40thtime. “It’s Halloween! Please let me goooooooooooo!”

Draco sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to deter his current headache from forming into a migraine. ‘How did this become my life again? Oh, that’s right, Lord Potter and his merry band of fools are throwing a Halloween party for Teddy, and Harry keeps getting into the decorations like an unsupervised kitten and wrecking everything’.

“Potter, for the last time, you cannot go home right now as you have been banished until Uncle deems it time that you can without ruining everything!” Draco leaned back in his chair and runs his hand over his face and through his hair, ruffling the once perfectly styled coif again.

Harry raised his head and turned his full force pout at Draco, kicking his feet in the air beneath his chair.

Draco left to get a cup of coffee from the kitchen before he gave up and just blasted Potter through the wall.

Severus stood in the doorway looking into the living room, surveying the decorations, food, and furniture placement. He nodded in satisfaction at a day’s good work, and walked towards to kitchen for a cup of tea, after warding the living room from any… disturbances.

Hearing the floo go in the kitchen, he rushed to the fireplace where an uncoordinated Harry stumbled out, catching him at the last second and placing him on his feet.

“Hiya!” Harry chirped happily and jumped into Severus’ arms.

“Hello love. How was your day?” Severus wrapped his arms tightly around the younger man, lifting him up and placing him on his hip. Harry wrapped his legs around Severus’ waist, tucked his thumb in his mouth and nuzzled into Severus’ neck with a sleepy sigh.

“I think it’s time for sleepy little boys to take a nap.”

“Nooooooooooooooooo”

“Harry…”

“Ooooooooooooo”

Severus tapped Harry’s bum in warning and the little bugger yelped dramatically as if Severus had hit him with a wooden spoon, and brought a hand down to rub his bum, lip trembling.

“Oh Dear, it’s definitely time for a rest. Come on mister, let’s get you into some nice comfy jammies.”

“Snitches!” Harry brightened instantly at the thought of his favourite jammies, and maybe snuggling with his bestest teddy, a black dog stuffy called Snuffles Jr.

Severus smiled indulgently and carried the adorable menace to the bedroom.

Severus was sitting in the kitchen, waiting for Harry to wake up from his nap, when he felt the charm alert him to movement upstairs. He stood up, placed his newspaper on the table, and made his way upstairs to get the little blighter into his costume ready for the party.

Severus paused at the top of the stairs, listening intently.

Thump… thump… rustle… squeak… giggle.

Severus looked toward the ceiling, praying for strength, so he could deal with an obviously younger than expected Harry. He purposely stepped on a squeaky floorboard, alerting the other man to his presence.

He heard a gasp and some more thuds, as though someone was rushing to hide.

Severus grasped the doorknob and slowly opened the door, stepping over the threshold, to see a duvet covered lump in the middle of the bed.

“Oh dear, where has Harry gone? I can’t see him anywhere!” Severus fake gasped, creeping closer to the bed. The lump on the bed wriggled and giggled. “Is he in the bathroom? No, could he be in the closet? Hmmm, not here either.” Severus reached the bed as the giggling got louder and higher. He placed his hands just above the duvet, prepared to attack, when he found himself on the floor, a duvet covered Harry on his stomach.

“BOOO!”

Severus laughed joyfully. A happy partner is a happy home.
