Hey there! Whatcha doing this weekend? What did you think of the new LU update?

Hi!

I've been working on a couple different fics, editing and stuff, and picked up sewing again in the form of adding flowers to my petticoat for a upcoming Renaissance fair!

Here's what I'm going for, and my mix of flowers.

As far as LU? I'm still processing, but I adore all the dynamics between Time and Twilight, as well as Older Brother Wars with the gremlin trio!

Time is a total Dad in this, and the references to the Hero's Shade were just 🤌🤌🤌

Don't ask me how, but Malon KNOWS. And since she can't be there in person, she's making sure Time is mother-henning him in the meantime.

(if there was also a part in there about a certain new addition to the family, I wouldn't be surprised...)

Four being the emotionally mature one is surprisingly on brand, and I am here for it! Super excited to see the dynamics there with him and Twi, and I hope to see more in the future!

What is your favorite Halloween candy ?

What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? And/or what would be your dream Halloween costume now?

Hi Kat! Boo to you too! 👻 Sorry this took me eighty seven years to answer and thank you so much for sending it!!

My favorite Halloween candy was always Snickers or Mr. Goodbar - I’m a sucker for a peanut. I am also one of those delulus who actually truly loves candy corn. 🤍💛🧡

My favorite costume growing up… oh man, this one’s hard. Here’s the thing - my mom made all my costumes and she was like a one woman costuming department (she did, in fact, make all the costumes for my 8th grade Christmas pageant.) So there were soooooo many good ones. I think looking back on them it was either Catwoman (we had family friends with two boys my age who went as Batman and Robin that year) or Princess Jasmine. Honorable mention to the Stegosaurus, complete with spiky tail.

My favorite costume I’ve worn as an adult was when I was Medusa about 15 years ago. Dream costume is Carmen Sandiego.

Annnnnd my favorite spooky TV show is American Horror Story. There are a few seasons I like less than others (Freakshow, Cult and Apocalypse, I’m looking at you!) But there are a few seasons that I watch annually - Murder House, Asylum, Hotel & Roanoke. Fun fact, I was watching Hotel when I first texted @something-tofightfor about Aphelion. I wanted to hate Delicate because I’m not a Kim K fan, but I actually ended up liking it. The AHS shorts are way more hit or miss for me but there are a few really good ones - Feral, Dollhouse, Drive-In, Daphne, Backrooms, Clone and X were the ones I liked most.

I also fucking loved Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix. I thought all the Poe stories woven together like that was super well done.

I need to read more spooky books. New mission.

🖤 What horror movie villain terrifies you the most? Why?

Jason Voorhees😭 I haven't watched many horror movies (I would love to watch all of them but I'm SO easy to scare🥲) but I've seen Friday the 13th and him not speaking but just being there all of a sudden scared the living shit out of me (I was definitely too young when I watched it at my friends house. She had to go to the bathroom with me bc I was too scared to go alone lmao)

🎬 What horror movie messed you up as a kid? What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve ever seen? Why did it mess with your head?

Same as 🖤... She only convinced me to watch it because Jared Padelecki was in it😂 (right after watching Conjuring, like- what was I thinking? But it reminded me of supernatural so that one was fine lmaoo)

1- What is your favourite piece of spooky folklore or mythology?

uhhh idk if this counts but there was that tumblr post that went around forever again about werewolves and old women going into the woods and calling the werewolves by name and it causes the men to return to their normal form bc of the love and acceptance and it has fucking STUCK with me i love it so much i think about that concept on like, a daily basis and wrote a mcshep fic about it

i just think it's fun

if that doesn't count then i'm going with slenderman bc it terrifies me and when i watched the videos about it i couldn't sleep for a week but also its fascinating to me

Um. I'm going to go with no here. I mean, I don't casually offer strangers on the street a cup of tea.

Now, a vampire? I mean, I'm going to go with I can tell it's a vampire...we talking silly Halloween costume here or like Buffy the Vampire Slayer style vampire that is very much an apex predator out or blood...literally. Yeah nope.

Can you explain to me how the mechanics of Legend's mermaid tail works? Need to know for fanfic reasons.

Uhhh, I'll give it a shot? Never really put a lot of thought into it?

So Legend thought it was just an outfit that could be removed whenever at first, but turned out to be a cursed item? It can never be removed, but the curse is only active if he's in a body of water. (We don't subscribe to H²O mermaid magic where it only takes a single drop of water. That's impractical.)

When the curse triggers, it causes a full body anatomy shift. It's not pleasant, but I'll leave that up to you 😉
