extremely funny coming from writers whose characters return and play major roles in more than one game. yeah sorry guys we couldnt do anything interesting with the game because we had to protect our fans from the conflict we would write if we did <3
#veilguard spoilers /#these arent my screenshots btw im old and dont know how to use bluesky#weekes REALLY rubs me the wrong way. i dont like their writing enough for them to be acting like this. mary kirby can get away with it#just about because i know she kind of means it but weekes' obsession with being the person that writes drama / twists is kind of juvenile#like we've all had that writing phase lol#likr what is this. you sound like a teenager talking about the supernatural finale#also the alistair comment is kind of not true at all. he can die in dai but his cameo in da2 is a really good example of choices in#the previous game having consequences in the form of a small cutscene? seeing him drunk in the bar the first time#i played da2 and KNOWING it was my fault was so good

like how legitimate are they going to make the fireflies actually being able to develop a vaccine feel like?? and tbh i think itd be rlly cool if we get a mini abbey comeo next to her dad as a hint to season 2 which i rlly rlly hope happens too
thatās something i didnāt really think about! iām very curious how theyāre going to present all that drama
#like. i feel like a big divisive thing between the fandom is the fact that joel isā¦not a good guy#joelās character is at the mercy of the writing depending on how they want to play all that#are they gonna make joel seem like a monster for ruining humanityās opportunity for a vaccine?#or are they gonna make it seem like the legitimacy wasnāt quite there so joel is a good parent figure for saving ellie#ALSO ABBY CAMEO??? that would be SO cool#we better get a season 2 with tlou pt 2 storyline#but i would be curious about the time gap. would they hire a new actor? or just wait a few years? or just try to make bella look older?#fun fact i didnāt play pt 2 until a few months ago. such an Experience#btw i looked it up and weāre getting 9 episodes!#thatās 8 more weeks. 2 months. aaaaa#iām sorry i have a bad habit of just talking in the tags i wish i just said this in the main ask reply agdhfjkfkf#we just got a letter~#tlou spoilers

or maybe Lou was just a bad coworker. He filmed cameos, didn't interact with the cast, gave self-centered interviews praising himself and putting down the plot points, leaked spoilers, etc.
If cameos are such a problem, why didn't anyone raise a fuss when Jennifer filmed one supporting Buddie because the fan wanted her opinion? Or when someone just asked a CHILD his thoughts on the very same ship? Riiiight. Cameos are only a problem when someone makes them about a non-Buddie ship. If he was answering questions about Tommy helping Buck realize he's in love with Eddie, y'all would be putting money in his bank account for ALL his headcanons. Please. "Didn't interact with the cast." It's literally in print that Kenny has stayed friends with him through the years and Oliver decided to let everyone know he and Ryan get along well. The rest of the cast has never been the topic of discussion here. It's always been the guy who can't even say his costars didn't deserve to be harassed. (And this is not about Lou alone. It's about everyone who came before him because of what Oliver said.) "Putting down the plot points"? You mean disagreeing with someone's choices? The same way Peter didn't understand why Bobby was showing up at the firehouse in the finale last season, but just went with it? Or when Aisha said season 5 didn't feel right with all the missing/moving pieces? Or Ryan having to advocate for more scenes of Eddie with people who are not Buck? Or Jennifer saying in a podcast that she needed more excitement in Maddie's story lines because she's been happy for too long and happy is boring? (That one was on video, btw.) And leaking spoilers? Jennifer Love Hewitt filmed a fucking story with Maddie's engagement ring on before the episode was gonna air. She also posted that part of 7x04 that confirmed the basketball scene??? But that was okay, right??? Because she's not Lou??? Oh, wow, look at that. All you did was put your double standards on display!

SPOILERS FOR E4S2 SMILING FRIENDS/ observations and opinions
Charlie has a pacemaker, is a LOTR fan, has a problem with money (shitty apartment yet spent600 dollarsā¦tbf he was drunk but still [he also owns a gaming laptop]) seems to not have a TV(?), has a p0rn poster on his wall, doesnt have an monitor just a laptop, is serious about catholic rituals in regards to demons/ghosts/ghouls, NO BEDFRAME (HURRAY), his uncle is still alive- and he seems close to him, and will very quickly do anything to help his boss. (More of a HC) Charlie also lives super close to the HQ since he walks to work and they immediately went to his house
Its also reslly hrghh like. Pim was really willing to stab a person when Charlie wimped out im going insane.
I really thought the direction on this episode was incredible btw, its probably the best in the whole season next to E1. The animation was also amazing as always. Not to mention TWO cameos. Holy shrimp.
In regards to each of the 3 rooms we have it has excellent visual story telling about the characters. Charlie and Pimās being the saddest so far is so heghh. Like theyre both so empty in different ways.

Kalki 2898 AD thoughts (spoiler-filled and long af)
Ok so.... I watched it in Telugu, and 3D. 3D wasn't that special methinks cz only the huge jaguar jumping scene in the start got me. Nothing much 3D-wise.
Now, watching it in Telugu........... Um... Even the dubbing sounds like wonky Telugu and I didn't like that.
Time for points I liked and didn't like--
Liked:
1. The idea of that world: how Kaasi is the first city and now the last city of this Yuga. Priyanka Dutt really headed a dedicated team. I loved the tarot scene because it reminded me of Godavari and made me want a Shekhar Kammula cameo toošš
2. I liked how the Vyjayanti logo took us into the world. And the whole premise it started off on. Love the Pareekshit and Ashwathhama Athah...! Kunjarah premise references
3. Loved how the Shiva Linga Ashwathama is meditating near is most likely The Kaasi Viswanath Lingam
4. The CGI with Mr. Amitabh Bachhan
5. Bujji. Unpop opinion maybe, but I liked Bujji more than Bhairava. Was I the only one who wanted Bujji to be the genderbent preserved consciousness of Bujjigaadu (Bujjigaadu: Made in Chennai reference š¤)
6. How the flames give way to the bearer of Kalki avataram while just a Yuga before, the sea gave way to Vasudeva - the carrier of Krishna avataram. Nice nice. Probably the thing I liked most about this movie.
7. The cameos (will talk about this later)
8. The scale of the vision.... HATS OFF. I want into that man's head istg. All 3 movies: Yevade Subramanyam, Mahanati and now Kalki 2898 AD are three distinct visions and superb visions. I'd love to even see all the concept art for this movie!!!!
9. Call me silly but APRIL ONE VIDUDALA REUNION!!!! (iykyk)
Didn't like (hyper spoilers ahead):
1. Bhairava's character needs more depth. A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL PROLLY TEASE ME/ DISAGREE WITH ME ON THIS POINT. But he does. He's shown as a selfish mercenary whose aim is to settle in the Complex. (I have dreams like you no really a little less touchy feely. But they mainly happen where it's warm and sunny. On an island that I own tanned and rested and alone surrounded by enormous piles of money). He's got debts all over Kaasi and he uses all his money for things like building Bujji and automobiles and thrusters and stuff. But what makes him tick (other than scratching Bujji who he abandons half the time)? What is he scared of? I feel like it would have worked better if Bhairava didn't go to the Complex at all and was banned from it. It gives his hope to see the Complex a touch of whimsy and desperation.
2. Disha Patani's character. The story just forgets about her after the party song which is the most pointless song of the movie btw. I feel like even Nag Ashwin didn't want it there on first thought.
3. SRI KRISHNA DID NOT REMOVE ASHWATHHAMA'S MANI!!!! It was Arjuna who did it as far as I know. After causing the death of Abhimanyu and fellow warriors and family members by unfairly means, Ashwathama almost faced the wrath of Bheema after being dragged to the Pandavas' tents However, Krishna couldn't let the Pandavas commit a sin to revenge a sin. He said, though Ashwathama caused the death of unarmed unaware Kshatriyas, he himself is a Brahmin by birth and thus killing him would be an unforgivable sin. Therefore, completely cutting his hair and taking his mani would be comparable to death. So it was Arjuna who took out the mani on Sir Krishna's advice. (As far as I read and heard from pravachans since my childhood) I disliked how the story started with this inaccuracy and it took me out of the flow. Or maybe Nag Ashwin wanted to change this part of the story to include the curse and pave the story's base? Dk
4. The fights never stop (not in the good way): Bhairava's first fight was SO. LONG. Actually, Bhairava's every fight was so long. Most unnecessarily so. His fights with Ashwathama go on for so long I actually started wondering why the all powerful giant hadn't killed our hero. I'm mean, I know, but I get annoyed by such drags.
5. Late emotional connect: Mrunal Thakur's character dying didn't even pinch. Because I had no emotional connect to even feel the horror of what had happened. But yes, I did cry when Rajendra Prasad's character died soon after bcz that meant the death of the one character who spoke the best Telugu in the movie.
6. As I mentioned, I watched the Telugu version and was disappointed by the lack of diction, even in the dubbing!š
7. The main point: Almost every scene reminded me of a different movie. A lot of people keep saying it's Dune + Star Wars but here, all I've got to mention -> Loki morphing into many Lokis, Sakaar's neck electrocution thingy (EXACT SAME), Troy: Legacy and Aagardian vehicles with the flying vehicles of that 5000 units bounty hunter. Coco wrt to the city's inner infrastructure (resembles the city in the afterlife, except make it sepia tone). Star Wars with the jedi light saber that Bhairava's dad teaches him to use. Bujji = JARVIS without the English politeness. Prince of Persia: sands of time and John Carter wrt the setting and vibes of the outdoor fight sequences. Mariamma's light rope handles??? From Iron man 2 as well as Wonder Woman. When Sumati imagines everyone dead at her feet it gives Tony from Age of Ultron. The Complex looks a lot like the Singing kingdom from The Marvels. There was an episode of Nebula in Marvel's What If? Animated series -> the concept of the complex or dystopia and the bar seems a lot like it.
8. Ashwathama and Karna weren't friends per the Mahabharatam. "Ashwa uncle" keeps calling Karna "sodara" (pure telugu word for brother) and not "mitrama" (pure telugu word for friend/ally) and it sort of irks me. Also, I think Sri Krishna's voice could have been sweeter (the pitch, Krishna could melt mountains with his voice. Here Krishna's voice sounded something like what we could match to Balarama)
Ok done with that.
Now, cameos..... I mean it's a Nag Ashwin movie and I went in expecting cameos after my experience with Mahanati tbh.
Ones I liked: Malvika Nair as Uttara (that was how I had imagined Shakuntala to look like in Shaakuntalam btw), DQ as Captain/Pilot, Brahmi garu as the fed up landlord, Avasarala Srinivas as gambler (missed him in Mahanati), RGV as the food vendor, Rajendra Prasad bcz the man speaks the best Telugu in this movie (as I mentioned before)
Ones I found Meh: Mrunal Thakur as the pregnant lady (only bcz there was no emotional connect, didn't know anything abt her character except that she's pregnant), Faria Abdullah as the showpiece-angel-dancer??, Disha Patani
Ones I wanted to question: Vijay Devarakonda as Arjuna (like........... I feel like Rana would have been the perfect Arjuna despite that opinion originating from his KVJG days. But maybe Tarak? Maybe you could have CGI-ed NTR sr and reminded us of Nartanasala!!) I have nothing against Vijay Devarakonda, but he just didn't fittttt
Overall: a beautiful effort and a mindblowing idea but the lagging screenplay, some music choices and slight misinformation reduces its impact. Liked it and would recommend bcz this is all people would be talking about and you wouldn't want to stay uninformed on a global phenomenon.

dw empire of death
spoilers ofc
hm. like many RTD finales, a bit of a mixed bag. i feel less certain of my overall thoughts than last week (which i thought was a blast, tbh).
the good: i'm... pretty happy with the ruby mom reveal. this whole mystery box set up turning out to be "she was just a scared young woman who couldn't raise her baby", an ordinary woman mythologized by ruby and the doctor over the season, etc, is an extremely RTD solution. and as a fan of his stuff I liked seeing that... well... pivot to his roots as opposed to her being part of the pantheon or something (which I admit I did wonder about myself).
the *idea* of her pointing at the sign to name the baby is nice, I like the meaning of it and what Ruby takes from it, but it is a bit of a clumsy set up. very dramatic pointing, ms miller.
also as much as i was dying to see what the screen said lol i DID love the character moment of ruby stepping forward to offer the name to sutekh, only to smash it, and then clip his collar (lmfao btw). i thought that was a nice character moment for ruby. in that moment i thought perhaps we'd never find out the answer, and that would be something ruby sacrificed for the greater good. i wasn't sure how satisfying that would be and I guess I'll never have to find out bc it's not what happened lmao, but it is where i thought we might be headed.
i liked seeing the gloves and the rope from TCORR come back. i like surprise tools that will help us later :)
loved the memory tardis from the time window and the use of that tales from the tardis set. how cool.
loved the time window playing clips of classic who that's so fun. mel's moment with six's outfit awwww. and i'm sure i missed some of the namedrops of planets etc that fifteen was going on about but i liked the ones i caught. shan-shen! oodsphere!!
i thought the effects of the dust wave and the insta-crumbling was pretty good and spooky
i really like having mel around! i hope we get to see her cameo again
the mixed bag:
'the death wave is eating memories and going back through family trees in reverse' is pretty cool as a concept, i thought. where i think this hurts the resolution a bit is that in the moment i thought, "ok, well, ruby's "safe" because there's the Mystery, there's no family tree for it to climb!" but like... there was. does sutekh need to personally be aware of your family tree to kill you?
i really liked the moment of fifteen and ruby watching louise outside the coffee shop, and i really liked the moment where ruby sits down across from her and then the barista calls the name ruby and they have this look. i ... kind of found myself wishing that it would stop there? i mean, i'm happy for ruby, and i think "ruby found her bio fam and now ruby and her big family are together" is a nice ending for the character. but there was something so emotional and bittersweet about that split second of wondering and connection between the two, and ruby having that choice to make...
the goodbye between ruby and fifteen was lovely. millie gibson is so good her big watery eyes make me so sad. i've enjoyed the two of them together and i think they have incredible chemistry as characters and actors, like, what a team of besties. i'll miss ruby on the TARDIS. but ... only 10 episodes, a couple of which didn't feature them much at all... a bond that didn't get super developed on screen ... I dunno. Left me wishing we got more from them through the season.
I do know we'll see more of Ruby next season, so I'm excited for that. an s4 Martha situation. but then I also worry about Varada Sethu's character getting development time too...
the not so good:
killing off rose, kate, etc in the first minute removes stakes, because while you might worry about characters like cherry or carla who won't necessarily stick around when ruby leaves or whose deaths will impact ruby, you know rose and kate are not going to stay dead permanently. also very infinity war (derogatory) where there was the same issue -- no these characters won't stay dead and i'm not going to humour it lol
rose temple sweetie it was nice to see you stand in the background and not speak. what was that about. she FINALLY got all of two lines. it just felt like she didn't serve a lot of purpose in this ep. I mean I liked seeing her but she did not do anything to the story in either part of the ep
the solution of "death kills death" was a bit goofy lol but it's doctor who the solution is always goofy. i didn't care too much about that i guess. but it was goofy
i really think we could've used a more decisive scene with carla and ruby. carla seems to understand ruby's desire to know her bio fam and be supportive of it and that's lovely. obviously ruby loves carla and vice versa. but i think it would've been nice to have a moment of on-screen explicit acknowledgment between carla and ruby that there might be weird feelings there, that louise isn't replacing carla, something like that.
related to the above, the Doctor says Ruby redefined the way he thinks of family, which is a huge thing to say, but I don't feel like I ever saw that happening on screen. it COULD have. all the pieces are there with foundlings and foster care and adoption...
#doctor who#dw spoilers#i start every post like 'i don't have much to say' 5000 words later#empire of death

Rewatching Teen Titians Go! To The Movies again (i watched it 3 days ago) and this is literally DCās Deadpool and Wolverine (and it came out first) so Iām gonna compare them while spoiling Deadpool and Wolverine the least amount possible
The āobscureā character references:
ā¢Challengers of the Unknown
ā¢The Atom
ā¢āThat is where the Animaniacs liveā (not DC but still Warner Brothers sort of like Marvel and Disney)
ā¢Literally almost everyone in the background of the movie theater scenes
Poking fun at their old movies:
āThere was a Green Lantern movie, but we donāt talk about that oneā
āMy mommyās name is Martha tooā
āShooting a baby into space what kind of people are you?ā āYou are the terrible parents!ā (referring to supermanās biofamily) + Krypton being saved with EDM
āGolly thanks for taking me to the movies in this dangerous neighborhood, Dadā (Batmanās parents died in crime alley)
The themes of found family
ā¢Itās repeated several times that without Robin, Beastboy would live in a dumpster, Starfire would have to fight in alien gladiator battles, Raven would have to enslave entire planets with her dad and Cyborg would have to play professional football (which he dislikes)
Referring to their characters as characters from the Marvel
āHe should be saying heās not me, I came out like way before him.ā āNah, Iām pretty sure youāre Deadpool.ā (this is a whole scene btw and Sladeās intro)
Breaking the fourth wall:
ā¢āLook into the camera and say something inappropriateā (again when calling Deathstroke Deadpool)
ā¢āThe prefect plot deviceā
ā¢Stan Leeās cameos
ā¢āKIDS! ASK YOUR PARENTS WHERE BABIES COME FROMā
The Meta dancing/songs
ā¢āYou need a Upbeat Inspirational Song About Lifeā
ā¢My Superhero Movie
ā¢Previously mentioned EDM music
šØš ACTUAL SPOILERS FOR DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE BELOW BEWARE!!! ššØ
The meta narratives are the main similarity however, in Deadpool and Wolverine the whole āanchor beingā thing is just a joke about how Foxās media company literally died because Hugh Jackman was no longer there to bring them in the big bucks. In Teen Titans Go! To The Movies the narrative is all about the Teen Titians (Go!) characters being too unserious to get a movie, a real complaint people have had since the inception of their show.
Plus Robin and Deadpool both have abandonment issues and low self worth, Robin has a weird Lion King dream where Batman drops him off a building after other superheroās disapprove of Robin. Deadpool secretly worries that Vanessa doesnāt love him or something???
Also both have the two main villains turn out to be in cahoots in some way, in Deadpool itās revealed that she works for the TVA, and in Teen Titians Go! To The Movies Slade and Jade Wilson are the same person
#teen titans#teen titains go#i feel like they get unnecessary hate when the humor style is literally kid friendly deadpool#dc#detective comics#teen titians go to the movies#deadpool and wolverine#media comparison#deadpool#i think this would be better if i rewatched deadpool to pull quotes and i might later but š¤·

Because I'm on a hyperfixation about the new fop coming who knows when I want to put my hopes / "things I hope they do" list I have. Keep in mind if they don't I'm okay with it because honestly I just want to have a good time and don't take anything too seriously but I still would like if they did this.
Spoilers for the 1st episode
The fact that Hazel does not technically "need" the fairies.
In the 1st episode we met Hazels parents and they don't seem like neglectful/bad parents. However, they were unpacking from the move and haven't settled down into the new routine yet so things could be different. I have 2 theories for how they (the writer) could handle this
1. The parents are workaholics and slowly get to busy for her.
Or
2. Jorgen pays a visit and is like. " I don't except this, she doesn't deserve the fairies" Then we get an episode about why she does.
Personal I would like the 2nd option cause it'd be a cool concept but idk
2. We get cameos of some of the old human kid characters and grown ups
We saw Timmy in the 1 episode as an actor for a crimson chin movie (I love that btw) but they never actually addressed if it was him like it looked like him but they never directly said it. I'd like if they'd do that with the others. But with that same subtlety.
3. The fairies are out of practice and keep screwing up the wishes
Okay this one's a fun idea.
In the episode Cosmo and Wanda state that they've been retired for about 10,000 years as God parents. In the episode Hazel say "I wish I could fly to Antony myself" but the wish kinda backfires and she becomes a fly instead.
I hope that this is a roccurring gag in the show. Because Hazel is said to have a strong sense of moral justice meaning her wishes are more or less going to be her feeling the need to help other people.
For now this is the most of it but I'll add more later. If you have any let me know I'd like to read them

One Piece Chapter 1120 - Initial Thoughts
And we're here again
Back from Break and Ready for a Robot Rumble The transmission continues and the Gorosei are converging, but the crew are still looking for a a way out
Let's see what we have going for us this time
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Relase
Yamato's problem with the kids is swiftly resolved with Denjiro's appearance, now the Daimyo of Kibi
Oda's notes mentions Rayquaza which is my favourite legendary PokƩmon so I gotta shout that out
And with the title being 'Atlas' I think we know what's gonna happen
26 years ago in Punk Hazard, Clover comes to visit Vegapunk to help him research the Void Century
You can see a head at the top of the giant fence, which I would assume is one of the Numbers, the one in the Bruce Lee suit back in Wano I'd guess
Also Vegapunk's artificial dragon is diddy sized
Since he works for the Government, Vegapunk of course says no, wondering why Clover keeps getting released
Of course he's the smartest man in the world, so he quickly surmises that Clover is likely attempted bait for his associates
He insists that the past should be left behind, but Clover has personal reasons for investigating it
He knew someone who was a D. his older brother!
ClaĆomh D. Clover, surprised but should've expected an Irish name from him, ClaĆomh or Claidheamh means 'Sword' btw
His unnamed brother was killed in front of him for being a D, he lied and told the killer it was just a friend
'How am I meant to accept a world where you can die for having the wrong name?' - tragic given that he died uttering a name
Taken aback, Vegapunk tells Clover to leave, forgetting what he heard and telling his old friend to stay safe
'The voices of the past call out to you' - again with the heavy hitters Clover
Insisting that he will uncover history to the point he will be unable to be ignored, we flash forward to the Ohara Incident, where he uncovered history to the point where he was unable to be ignored
Fuck you and your bowl cut Caesar, revelling in the fact that Ohara got nuked
And excuse you that ain't some brat that is Nico Robin my (at that point in time, future) wife
We see another internal thought from Vegapunk while at Ohara, sad that Clover and the scholars chose death, hoping that someone would continue where they left off
And back to the present, Vegapunk's transmission echoes Clover's words about the voices of the past, but also that History is written by the Victors
Zeff cameo, also Tequila Wolf shown again - Oda keeps having it show up what is the secret?
Also my wife Nico Robin, still listening while having to handle her past trauma as Vegapunk notes how history is erased or rewritten, but still lives on in the survivors and the oppressed
Zoro and Jinbe didn't latch onto the ship as planned, because Lilith is objecting the plan to leave now
She has done all the math and the wind direction, calculating that any change of direction caused by V. Nusjuro can be fatal since it'll change the landing position
But up comes Atlas, and she smacks the shit out of Lilith
The crew is naturally confused, but Lilith is KO'd and something switched off in her head
'I'll leave her in your hands, take off! I'll make sure you make it in One Piece' - ...is, is that a roll credits moment?
The KOing of Lilith was tactical though, since she switched off her connection to the main hub - causing York to believe Lilith is dead
V. Nusjuro makes a charge as the Straw Hats ready their Coup de Burst, but is met by a charging Atlas
V. Nusjuro cleanly takes the arm of the Vegapunk of Violence, but she doesn't need that arm to do what needs to be done, as she pulls the Gorosei away for the Sunny to fly off
Back down below the Navy have to take in the fact that it's a full blown Kaiju movie going on right now
Luffy, Sanji, Franky and the Giants have the classic One Piece 'boys love robots' moment
Emeth speaks to Joy Boy, glad to meet them again
Luffy though, confused, doesn't know that he's being addressed
Even centuries old giants are able to do the 'oy' backhand gag
Noting that the Gorosei are Joy Boy's enemies, Emeth resolves that they are their enemy, and they are glad to fight for Joy Boy again
Ju Peter and Warcury are still very willing to put down Emeth, and end Vegapunk's transmission
But Luffy and the Giants are making their leave, as Brogy asks if Emeth's a friend
Luffy notes that it said it was protecting 'some guy called Joy Boy'
But here's the interesting part, the Giants didn't hear a voice: that was the Voice of All Things, perhaps even a voice of the past huh?
Still a kid, Bluegrass attempts to refocus the Navy back on the longboat
Vegapunk's closing words mention that people should have the right to learn from the past, from all perspectives
Ju Peter preps a big human teeth chomp, but Emeth is readying an attack
Sanji and Franky await the beam or a rocket punch, but instead they get a fizzle
Blue balled, Emeth gets its arm bitten off, the 900 years have done a number on the weapons it had
Saturn meanwhile comes charging, leaping off Ju Peter to land on the longboat
His main focus seems to be Kuma and Bonney, but Sanji spots the Sunny taking flight from up above
The trajectory seems good but the distance is still short
and not far behind V. Nusjuro cuts through Atlas, mocking her attempt at a grand sacrifice
but Atlas' expression turns soft, and with a smile she notes she's simply lending a hand
And from her death, the explosion propels the Sunny towards the sea
Usopp and Chopper doing right by thanking Atlas, as York revels in being the 'Last Vegapunk' - only to be corrected by V. Nusjuro
Emeth realises that it has rusted for too long, but there was a time Joy Boy spoke of, and they wonder if they can 'use it' for this moment
During all this, Vegapunk notes how Roger and his crew must know the full story, that they must've heard it from the 'purest source possible', and that it may end up determining how things transpire in the future
Prisoners cover the final panel
Oh shit he did say it, the government did try to keep it under wraps: Gol D. Roger
Well it looks like it's curtains for Emeth. We pour one out for Atlas, the first Vegapunk Luffy met, who was nothing but welcoming to him, who fought even when outmatched against Lucci, and sacrificed themselves to help the Straw Hats, just as Edison did.
Last chapter many were suggesting Bonney4Nakama, but I wonder if this chapter does anything for Lilith4Nakama. She was a bit argumentative, but it is still a hell of a feather in the cap to have a Vegapunk on your team, even if it is Grand Fleet. Plus she is the most pirate of the Punks, looting ships for resources and funding, and as the 'evil' one the WG would spin the story so she can't persuade the world about what truly happened.
This chapter had some good stuff when it came to the importance of history, it could've been very easy for Ohara to have been forgotten to the story, but Oda maintains it as a centerpiece of history, the destruction of Ohara literally triggered so many other smaller events that have snowballed and come to bite the Gorosei. Emeth speaking using the Voice of All Things is interesting too, because Zunesha did that as well, the Sea Kings did that too, did Joy Boy unite all races under this voice perhaps? And what is it really?
Questions upon questions, but now that Luffy has heard the name Joy Boy I wonder if he will at one point try to inquire into it, Robin has been quietly soaking up this knowledge, it is a lot to take in but it also feels like she will have more things she can reveal to the crew from it.
The Sunny makes it to sea though, Saturn seems to be the last obstacle (Egghead has been pretty cyclic; Lilith and Atlas were the first met Vegapunks but were also the last allied Vegapunks, Saturn was the first Gorosei obstacle and now he's the last), who does it fall to in order to stop him? Sanji is due a moment that's not undercut by failure, but it can also fall to Kuma to push away the first true obstacle and mastermind behind every tragedy in his life one last time, his powers are designed to push things away.
There seems a tiny bit left of Vegapunk's transmission and I'm still waiting on why it needed a video feed, but it would bode to finish on a strong closing argument.

You said you saw Deadpool & Wolverine - how did you like it?
Oohh, thanks Nonny! I had been planning on writing my thoughts! :)
I liked it!
I thought it was a very apt bridge between the old Fox films and Deadpool coming into the MCU.
I'm not a huge fan of uber violent things but something I appreciate about the Deadpool films (and Ryan Reynolds' brand of 12yo humor) is that behind it all is a lot of heart. And this film retained that, through all the crudeness, the point is that ultimately, Deadpool/Wade is a really good guy. And I can respect that.
Getting into specifics... which are very spoiler-y
I thought the plot itself was very thin, and this whole thing probably works better as a bunch of sketches, but it's fine. I was never asking for a lot from this film, and it did the only thing I was really asking of it, which was provide entertainment and get Deadpool into the MCU.
I appreciate that they really didn't shit on Logan's legacy while bringing Hugh Jackman back. Jackman seemed to be having a good time of it, which I'm glad to see.
Btw, loved all the musical jokes we got in this! Loved it.
I LOVED the montage of various Wolverines -- I understood most of the references! Yay me for reading X-Men comics for so long!!
The Henry Cavill cameo? Perfect.
I'm not surprised we didn't see a lot of Wade's family and friends, but it is sad they got such a small amount of screen time.
Ooff, Vanessa continues to be the one really weak piece of this whole thing. Does the actress not want to be there? Does she have limited time? Why is her character always being reduced to love interest whom Wade does everything for but there's no development of her character? Idk.
The TVA stuff is fine. I feel like it's so convoluted now that it doesn't really matter that it ultimately doesn't make much sense. I do think the MCU needs to start moving away from the multiverse stuff. It's just getting too mucky and it's lost focus.
Oh, why is Thor holding Deadpool, I'm sure it was just a gag, but oh god would it be hilarious if they brought it back at some point.
The Happy stuff. It's always great to see him, but how did Deadpool end up in the main universe? Why am I even questioning this?
Cracked me up that they hid Peter's face in that picture. Can't give Sony any more money than necessary.
Oh, in general, I love LOVED all the fourth wall breaks. This is why I watch Deadpool movies.
Cassandra Nova was fine as a villain. The actress was great! She just feels... a little too seriously evil to be in this comedy movie. Idk.
All the returning c-list villains were fun!
Having Chris Evans return as Johnny Strom was a brilliant move and I loved it. Having him just be the opposite of Steve Rogers on top of it was hilarious. Perfect use of a cameo, film.
Wesley Snipes returning as Blade. Goddamn. I'm kinda surprised he agreed to do it!
Great to see Jennifer Garner return as Elektra. I'm kinda glad I made myself watch all those marvel movies (which I still need to finish...) I appreciate this cameo more (and the dig at Daredevil).
Yay Laura returning! Could have always used more of her, but she did what she needed to.
Okay. Okay, let's talk about it. Let's talk about Channing Tatum as Gambit...
The Pros : The accent was fun, the way they used his powers was fantastic and original, they didn't make him the butt of jokes or treat him like a joke, there was a general respect for the character overall and I really, really, appreciate that being a Gambit fan
The Cons : Look, I have nothing against Tatum personally. He just doesn't look right. He's too think in body shape (not meant in a derogatory way), and his face just doesn't work in the headsock. Not to mention the costume looked plastic and cheap.
I really hope Gambit is back, but can we have Tatum as Gambit here like we had JKras as Mr. Fantastic in Dr. Strange? Just a one time fun gag? Please??
Remy is having a really good year despite dying everywhere.
The Deadpool squad (or whatever) I'm afraid I haven't read enough Deadpool to really get it, but it was fun. The side scrolling action sequence reminded me of a video game. And honestly, Wolverine with his cowl on, just kind of loosely moving reminded me of a video game as well.
I'm super curious to see how Deadpool plays within the MCU now. Let's go for it.
The credits were a nice touch. I'm glad they could honor those films for what they did, and I'm glad we can now move on from them.
Tl:dr it was fun and I liked it! :)

ok typically first lessons for a new season generally set the stage of where the story goes for the season so!! here are some highlights i think will be worth noting:
[spoilers for nightbringer lesson 41 under the cut]
- the science fair seems to be our main focal point, kinda like how og obey me s2's was the play (which is still my fave season btw). notable each of the branches of science highlighted could have a main driving subplot to weave everything together? we don't have too much to go off of yet though
- it seems we're really going for the "everyone but solomon and mc has forgotten about mc's disappearance", which, considering they put extra focus on the brothers + luke and simeon being extra clingy, i think will be something we'll come back to later on (interestingly, dia + barb hasn't displayed or hinted at feeling like they haven't seen mc in a while)
- thirteen hug scene! i think it's definitely setting up for the non dateables to be romanceable, thirteen especially has displayed a lot of romantic tendencies towards mc in more recent events (mephisto and even raphael too, though they're a lot more lowkey)
- simeon. in one of the chapters they're hinting that there's definitely something wrong/off with him, which i definitely think will be another major subplot. maybe some stuff with michael getting physically involved finally? interestingly raphael's currently at the celestial realm bc michael called for him, which makes me wonder if he's gonna attempt to disguise himself as raphael again (though i doubt it)
- not really anything notable but i was scared they weren't gonna give us a solomon scene but I'm glad they did LMFAO he's so cute. Lucifer kissing mc's head as goodnight for longer than normal right in front him was funny. Also we definitely bang him in our room at the end LMFAO
ok that's all if i missed anything to note lmk š i haven't played hard mode yet (help im still at lesson 20 something over there) and i haven't seen anyone talk about what the story chapter there is so if u know pls lmk š) no mephisto cameo yet too.... sobs....
also i am. so glad i start unlocking my cards' level caps... power scaling is rough out here even with a full team of level 120 cards (+ level 80 memories) i barely reach A rank without the wand boosts

NYX #3 Review!
*Spoilers!*
The issue starts with a phone message to Anole from Kamala, inviting him to the funeral of a recently deceased mutant.
Anole heads to the funeral- which includes Laura, Prodigy, Sophie, and Kamala.
(At the funeral is also Local, which Laura is totally eye-f***ing šš¤£)
Some ātruthseekersā (aka Marvel Universeās version of āQAnonā šš¤£š¤£) are at the funeral as well; screaming them down Westborough Baptist church style.
Caliban shows up at the funeral with new digs while doing a whole ceremony ( Caliban had a major āglow upā and stopped talking in 3rd person) and Anole decides to follow him into the sewersā¦.where he sees Calibanās new version of āthe Morlocksā and their spiffed up sewer/faux Krakoa. (Everyone is apparently obsessed with remaking Krakoa!)
Meanwhile Kamalaās brother, Aamir shows up at the funeral looking for Kamala with their āTrumperā cousin, who is in town (I guess we all have one lol) and gets a mouthful about the dangers of being around mutants.
Sophie loses her cool and flips out on Kamalaās cousin (#thekrakoanwasright).
(Also- OKAY Sophieā¦.we INTERRUPT Davidās carefully planned lectureā¦.but donāt call out Kamala for not standing up for her friends or new identity more?!!)Ā
(Also- the panel with Sophie looks AMAZING!)Ā
As Kamalaās cousin and brother leave, Sophie then alerts Kamala that the truthseekers have followed Anole into the sewers and are planning to attack him.
Back in the sewers, we find out that apparently Anole is dating people on apps with āscaly fetishesā while he is asked to take off his shirt to make sure heās not āwearing a wireā so to speakā¦ š³šš¤£
Anole verbally debates if he belongs more with the X-Men or the Morlocks and says that heās done with the āX-Men lifeā and asks if they asked him to strip to make sure he wasnāt āin costumeāā¦ (this is basically a rip-off of Spykeās arc in āX-Men Evoā btwā¦)
Anoleās internal debate is interrupted by the Truthseekers (apparently working in tandem with the Purifiersā¦itās hard to keep track of all the mutant hate groups honestly), and Anole protects the Morlocks.
The calvary of Ms. Marvel, Sophie, and Wolverine then show upā¦.(Prodigy interestingly nowhere to be seen!)Ā
(Kamala screaming random political slogans in battle IS admittedly funny!)
When they won, Laura debates about killing the truthseekers (damn Laura! Someone is backsliding with Krakoa gone! šš¤£), but Sophie talks her out of it.
Anole and Laura chat, as Anole quips about being a former āHellionā and Laura drags Kamala out to give Anole a minute with the Morlocksā¦.(technically he was in āAlpha Squadronā but whatevsā¦.)
Anole ultimately decides he doesnāt want to hide in a sewer OR be a bartender (tbh I wouldnāt want to bartend in NYC either!) and goes back to the surface with Caliban and co.
We also find out Prodigy is apparently the one tagging Mutant Graffiti, with paint stained hands!
And that Sophie is working for Empath!
Review:
This issue was OKAYā¦.more or less itās just a āfiller issueā.
For being titled āAnoleāā¦we barely got much of him (the one chink in the armor of this book is that I donāt care for how they write Anole- KYOST really wrote the best version of that character!)
I mentioned itās a poor rip-off of Spyke from Evo in the summary and I would argue that the show at least built up to Spykeās internal debate about being an X-Men or a Morlocksā¦this feels a bit left field for Anoleā¦
The things fans WANTED- mentioning of Santoā¦.Anole putting on the X-Dudes costume againā¦Northstar cameoā¦DOESNāT happenā¦and instead we get ANOTHER story about Anole having an existential crisis over having a physical mutationā¦.(sighā¦at least it WASNāT about his love lifeā¦)
This is definitely the weakest issue so farā¦and I think the main issue IS that Kamala is definitely overtaking the book a bitā¦which isnāt great, since this is an X-book, not a Ms. Marvel miniā¦.(Iām saying this as someone who READ G. Willowās run and likes the character!)
Hopefully the next issue with Prodigy will be stronger; it DEFINITELY seems like David is easier for this team to write than Victorā¦.
The reveal of Sophie being the ātraitorā is kind of boringā¦but it makes sense because it would be weird if she didnāt sense what her sisters were up toā¦(although I DO wonder now if thereās more than ONEā¦)
The ART is again SPECTACULAR!! This issue hands down had the strongest art!
Theories/Predictions:
I AM TOTALLY going to laugh if David painted a mural of HELLION! (the colors DO match!) š¤£š¤£š¤£
I kind of wonder if the Cuckoos are āsharingā powers with Hellion and thatās why they have telekinesis suddenly?

Ep. 8 "Bad Territory" Review
This episode was honestly the fluff I needed after last week's tense and crazy two parter. There was the usual action and excitement, but I loved the amount of fluff we got. Omega is forever our little ray of sunshine. I feel a bad feeling that it's going to get much darker after this week so I'll take any fluff I can get.
As always, spoilers below
It was really cool to see Fennec again and it makes senes that out of all the bounty hunters, the boys would choose to seek her out. She was originally after Omega, but she's not needlessly cruel like Cad Bane. If Omega's life were truly in danger, I don't think Fennec would want to see her get hurt. Cad Bane wouldn't give a second thought about it. Speaking of the ending, I definitely think she was talking to Ventress or someone like Quinlan. After all, Ventress is a Force-wielder and could be connected to whatever Hemlock is doing.
Overall, I really liked the interactions between her, Hunter, and Wrecker. Their banter was great and the joke about the Batch being straight up broke had me cackling. Like yes, these 5 guys with a kid are clearly enjoying Space Greece or whatever the fandom calls it. They're not gonna be looking for jobs right now. I also enjoyed seeing the boys use their skills like Wrecker's demolitions knowledge again. It's been so, so long since we've seen the boys go on a classic mission. That's not a bad thing either to have an "adventure of the week" style episode. It was cool to see them back in action (you know, non lethally).
The environment looked great, Wrecker and Hunter throwing hands with gators was pretty epic, and the final fight with the other bounty hunter (?) was exciting. I'll admit, the antagonist's design was cool and it allowed from some fun fight choreography.
Shoutout to the Phee cameo btw! Love seeing her as always. I think she'll be back after the Pabu invasion or she'll be back in time for that event to happen. Crosshair not knowing who she or Fennec was though was pretty funny. He's missed so much. (Also, this is the first time we hear him call Echo by his name fun fact).
Of course, Crosshair and Omega were the standouts because their dynamic is just that good. They're finally getting Crosshair's hand addressed! And I'm so glad Hunter stepped up to make sure it got looked at. Hunter loves Crosshair despite the past and he will look out for him. As many of us thought already, Crosshair's tremors are psychosomatic. We don't what happened on Tantiss (aside from some vague details), but whatever it was, it was bad; real bad. Crosshair is afraid of talking about it because it hurts. His reactions to even thinking about it were heartbreaking.
My theory is that Hemlock did something that broke a part of his identity. Maybe the identity erasure almost worked. Maybe he had Crosshair kill someone during a trial session to see if the reconditioning worked. Whatever it was, it traumatized Crosshair (on top of everything else he went through). For Crosshair to move forward, he's going to have to confront his trauma. He'll need to accept what happened to him and learn that it doesn't define who he is now.
Omega is so gentle and patient with him; I absolutely love it. She doesn't push him nor does she just leave him to get trapped in his mind. Instead, she tries to teach him coping mechanisms. The way he trusts her is so good too. Crosshair doesn't know what to do, but here is sister whom he loves. She's never left his side since they were imprisoned together and she was the only one who really advocated for him back in season 1. This girl loves him and he loves her. The scene where she holds his hand because it won't stop trembling genuinely means so much to me. It's such a small gesture that means so much. I really do appreciate that the writers are taking their time to show Crosshair going through the healing process. His hand doesn't get magically fixed because he escaped Tantiss nor because he redeemed himself. He achieved that. Now, he needs to finish the rest of his journey. AZI even mentions that it could be permanent. Real life mental health issues don't disappear in one night nor do they go away permanently. It comes and goes and that's what Crosshair will have to do. He'll have to cope with his trauma and hopefully the tremor will steady over time.
Many have pointed it out, but I would love to see a scene with him and Echo. Echo understands Crosshair's plight as he too was held captive and subjected to horrific experiments. I hope we get a scene between them where Echo comforts him. It would be a nice moment between two characters who often don't interact much.
Aside from that, the animation and music were great as always. That last scene of Cross and Omega meditating while Pabu's sun begins to set is truly gorgeous and it might be my favorite landscape shot of the show. It's also reminiscent of Hunter and Crosshair together on Barton IV. I am truly so happy to see Crosshair finding peace and happiness after so long. I honestly never thought we'd see him like this. But now, we do. (Side note: he looks so much smaller and vulnerable without his backpack or shoulder pads).
Anyways, I could go on and on about Crosshair. But I'll save that for another post. Can't wait for next week and hopefully we'll see Ventress!
