Okay, let’s get this horror story on the road.

There is going to be a lot going on in these next few chapters when it comes to horror and also when it comes to motherhood.

Chapter Twenty Two

''You left town to lead Edie away from us,'' he says. ''She's back now and so are you. It's a moot point.''

''Dean, you know it's not just about - ''

''Relax,'' he cuts in tersely. ''I'm not asking you to come home.''

She knows that she has no right to be upset by the dismissal, but she is. ''Oh.''

''But you're back in town, you seem to be sticking around, and Mary needs you,'' he says. ''She needs to be able to see you and hear your voice. I get that you're not ready to come home and I'm trying to respect that, but it's been over a week since you got back and if this separation is going to last however long it's going to last, we have to figure out a way to get you to her. I know you're worried about Edie and what could happen, so it's - I mean, I'll be there too. If you feel like something's about to go down, I'll get her out of there. But she needs you.'' He is steady as he says this, resolute, determined, but calm, like maybe he has practiced this speech, thought long and hard about it. But she likes to think she knows him pretty well by now and she knows how to hear what's simmering underneath. There is desperation in his voice.

Something has spooked him.

That makes two of them.

''Laurel?'' His voice is gentle, but exasperated. ''You still there?''

''I'm here,'' she says. ''I'm here. I'm just, uh, a little...'' She drops her head into her hand briefly, palm pressed against her forehead. ''What are you thinking? Like a... a supervised visitation kind of thing?'' She lifts her head and looks up at the ceiling, shaking her head, pushing away the tears.

Last month, they were in California, just the three of them, their little family, walking the beach at sunset, taking five thousand pictures of Mary in her puffy blue coat over her purple sparkly dress making sandcastles. They listened to old records and ate good food and slept peacefully. The sun shone on them. They were the calmest they had ever been.

Last April, she was happy. She had moved past her birth trauma, she thought she had moved past her postpartum depression, she was looking forward to having more children, doing it all over again, moving into a bigger house, living the life she had always wanted with everything she could have hoped for. She was sober, employed, working hard at being a good mom, a good wife, a good person. She was, in a lot of ways, peaceful. She was working on a happy ending.

Now she gets supervised visitation.

A/n: Felt the itch to write for Sam again and here we are, after not writing for this fandom in literal years.. I was craving comfort of some kind so bear with me </3 Feel free to drop by SPN drabble ideas

“Sam-”

“How long before you just be honest with yourself?” he asked with a pained grunt, not one of physical kind but a deep corner from within his lungs where his bleeding heart attempted to take refuge from the world, from you. His eyes held unshed tears and the sight unsettled you. It sets a deep ache in your chest, somewhere right below your sternum.   “It had almost killed Dean, it almost killed you! And I had done nothing about it, I could have only watched you two get gutted!”  Words are spilling out of him in a torrent and you attempt to cup his face but Sam squirmed away, shoulders set square and body rigid and his eyes fall from your face in a guilty stare directed at your shoulder instead.

“Listen to me, hey.. Keep still” you take half a breath, feeling the space between your brows crease and tighten. “You didn’t know, none of us did. You can’t blame yourself for this, hey- Don’t.” By then he has already begun to turn away from you, standing up to leave the cheap motel bed you were patching him up on. He winces, his gaze snapping back to you as you follow after him. 

“You had to call for help because I couldn’t do anything! What if this happens again, who are you going to call then? I can’t- No, I can’t, I CAN’T lose you too” He said as he backed himself up, shaking his head and looking everywhere and nowhere all at once, as if to show you he wished there was a world’s distance between the two of you.

And you would have accepted that as truth had he not met your touch with a subtle lean in, seeking more of the warmth of your hand that graced his shoulder. He crumbled, sliding down the wall as one frail hand grasped around your wrist and you followed him down to the floor. 

“You’re not going to lose me, Sam-” you said, your other hand finding purchase upon his other shoulder as you pulled him forward, hoping he’d pick his head up and look at you. His ruffled hair is the sight you’re met with, and quiet sounds of crying met your ears like a lament of the future that might’ve come to pass, as if it already happened and you were a mere ghost haunting him for all he did to wrong you. He was muttering under his breath barely comprehensible words and broken sentences about loss and his distrust of his ability to protect. There was naught you could’ve said in that moment as crystalline tears began to drop to the floor, nothing that he’d be able to hear and follow.

With whatever courage you could muster and all the kindness you had for him, you drew yourself closer and pulled him into you, arms circling around him, allowing his head to rest at your clavicle. 

Your fingers find their way to his hair, carding through over and over again in slow motions until they smoothed out, and then some more. Cooing and hushing, your lips pressed against the crown of his head; perhaps a gentle touch would be enough to shatter this illusion of failure that he put all his faith in. What ghost he conjured would ever be so gentle on him?

“Sammy..” it was a whisper of your voice, a breath of his name, that came a few moments after his sobs subsided. By then his arms were circled around your waist, loose but sure in their hold, tying you to him for just a moment longer. “I’m here.. and you did your best.. and that best was more than enough..”

He inhaled a shaky breath, nuzzling into the crook of your neck as you continued after a pause. “You could have died..” He breathed into your skin before his hold pulled you closer into his warmth, fleeting hold that meant as a motion to suck out poison from a wound.

You could have died, there was no denying that, but a foolish, naive part of you, the stubborn little voice reared its head and told you that you would have prevailed either way, for this crumbling man before you if no one else.

“Maybe.. I sure could’ve died yesterday as well in that traffic, but I don’t hear you talking about not being my driver..” At that you heard him puff, half a laugh, half a sorrow of a sound. “I could die any day, Sam, but that doesn’t make it your fault.. I’m okay, can’t you see? Can’t you feel me, hm?” The hand that was combing through his hair adjusted his head, guiding it so it pressed against your chest, his ears listening to the beat of your heart.

Lup-dup.. lup-dup..lup-dup…

The sound echoed in his ear, and his eyes welled with tears again. This time due to relief. His arms tightened once more and your own arms went wholly around him, holding him just as close.

“I’m here..”  Your lips kissed the top of his head again just as his own lips shakily found the pulse point at your neck, leaving a butterfly kiss, as frail as it was meaningful, and another kiss just below it. 

You are here. Alive. That’s all he can ask for.

Okay, I know I'm putting myself out there. And out of my comfort zone really, but please help me out. ❤️

This is for all my fellow Jensen/Smallville fans, circa early-2000s, pre-Arrow and Flash and all these DC shows. Smallville paved the way for everybody in that verse.

(Jensen was on this show in season 4, the year before SPN got picked up for its first season.)

So I've been thinking about writing some Jason Teague fanfic. Because look at him. Look at that soft lil' former rich boi.

But I'm wondering how to (or even if I should) handle the Lana Lang of it all.

It's been a while for us all, so I'll try to (quickly) recap: Jason and Lana meet the summer before her senior year, when she's studying abroad in Paris. He's implied to be about 20-21, in college. She turns 18 the summer they meet.

Jason later becomes the assistant football coach at Smallville High, and has many a locker room chat with Clark Kent (AKA: love rival for Lana's affections). Now, Jason does eventually get fired from the school for dating Lana. She's 18, but she's still a student and he's a coach.

It was taboo even then, but...less so in my mind when I first watched the show as a teenager. It was more unbelievable that he was the assistant coach at such a young age, to be honest.

Now in my late 20s rewatching S4, part of me goes "eeech." 😬😬

But again, it's a 2-3 year age gap at most. A lot of us are over here writing 15+ age gaps with this man/his characters. 🤣

My question is: is it "ick" to still like the Jason x Lana relationship?

I personally think they had a lot of sweet moments. And I could write a full essay on why Lana sort of used Jason to try to get over Clark. (Until she couldn't anymore. And then it was all, "I'm still in love with you Clark" subtext.)

😅 Again, help me out...

J2 Chicon Gold Panel 2023

The boys are looking gorgeous, Jared's hair has gotten longer and is so fluffy it’s very Sam Winchester 😍 

Let’s hop right into the questions!

The first one isn't really a question it’s a fan letting them know what they'd like to see in a 16th season which is pretty much everything but the kitchen sink including the Walkerverse cast making guest appearances. Jensen says that would be an interesting challenge to pull off, he’s not sure how that would work. Jared says he’s gonna be really honest that now that he’s gainfully unemployed for the foreseeable future he’s thought it’d be fun to start trying to think of stuff but legitimately they can’t talk to writers because of the strike, they can’t have creative conversations right now but hopefully they [the writers] come to terms that are agreeable for everybody and they can start developing it while still looking like Sam and Dean. Jensen echoes that, and says that they have some time on their hands and think let’s make some phone calls then remembers they can’t, nobody will take their calls right now because everybody’s on strike. x

There were a lot of little nods to different shows in SPN, what other shows would they have liked to have given a nod to in the show?

Jared says it would have been fun to show up on TVD or Arrow, that they had buddies on all sorts of networks. Jensen says that they would always joke about the last episode of TVD just being the Impala rolling into town, and they often joke too about Sam and Dean showing up on TWD and just dealing with zombies in such an easy way by just walking away from them and they give an example of this, he also says that some didn’t even have lower halves they were just crawling how does that pose a threat to anything- I don't watch Walking Dead but I know those zombies have evolved so I wouldn't be so confident about being able to just walk away from them boys  x

Were there any characters, like guest stars, that they wish had had a bigger role?

Jared answers that it would have been great to have JDM around more, and he thinks JDM wanted to be around but Grey’s Anatomy picked him up before they could, Grey’s made an offer and SPN didn’t know where s1 was going yet, and although selfishly he would have like to have had the dynamic of dad and sons more it’s kind of perfect for what the story became; looking at the show as a whole it’s like well that’s great cause it made Jared as Sam kinda want his dad more without being willing to say it so when they had JDM come back and at this point he starts laughing as he recalls that he hit Jeffrey in the balls by mistake which he says was the most epic shot in all years of SPN. Seriously, if you have somehow not seen that blooper look it up it's so funny.

Jensen would say there are kinda two lists. There are actors they would love to have come back and then there’s the list of the characters they would love to have come back and a lot of times they coincide for instance an actor and character he would have liked to have had explore the story more is Benny. He was such a unique character in that situation especially given that Dean has always been so black and white about if it’s a monster it had to die and here you have somebody who was a monster but was also a friend to him so he thought that posed some really good issues. But ultimately it’s a show about two brothers and that’s where it always kinda came back to; Jared mentions Sully, Jensen agrees, says again both the actor and the character were fantastic. 

They ask the fan who they would have liked more of and the fan replies Charlie, Jensen says to have her more involved with the brothers story would have been great. x

If they could add another ep to SPN what would it be about?

Jensen would have just added one scene, in the scene where Sam and Dean get out of the Impala next to the barn when they go into the fight he would have just had Dean put on a backpack. Would have just added that little nugget. So it would have been like ow instead of 💀

Jared says they should have had an alternate ending where Jensen was like 'oh that could have been bad', and Jensen says were the rebar would have gone in the space between his arm and his torso.

Jensen feels like they did every episode imaginable, they did a musical episode, they did an episode with dancing like Fred Astire, they did one from the car’s POV there wasn’t a lot left unturned after 15 seasons. 

A fan screams out gender swap and they reply they did a body swap but Jared adds that while he thinks it would have been amazing to do a gender swap and he bets the writers probably thought about it to be brutally honest he thinks it would have been really difficult to try and make sure that everybody knew it was in good fun, that they weren’t making fun of men or women. Fans would have known but maybe a broader audience wouldn’t have. x

What’s been their favorite fan interaction?

Jared can’t think of a specific instance off hand but something that has happened a couple of times is he’ll get the chance to talk to a fan and they’re with a friend and it seems like they’ve known each other their whole lives and they’ll be like ‘yeah we met on a chatline 5yrs ago, then met up at a con 2yrs ago and we’re best friends’. So seeing connection just seeing how the show has helped not just people enjoy it by themselves but strengthen their relationships. Sidenote: chatline my boy 😂

Jensen shares that Make-A-Wish would go to their set maybe like once or twice a year and that’s always a real treat and they try to make it as special as possible but the’s one that will always stand out to him and he doesn’t know if he can get through it without getting emotional but there was a youg lady about 13-14 yrs old and she had Leukimia or something- it was terminal and she went with her family, and her dad who was a firefighter he had a really beautiful ornate tattoo on his arm that was like a rose that went down to where he was holding it that represented her essentially but what really stood out about that visit was that he pulled them aside and he said through tears that there’s only so much that he can do as a father for his daughter but the smiles that they bring her on a daily basis when she watches their show that’s something he can’t bring and so he hugged them and said thank you for making his daughter smile even though she was dying essentialy, and that meant a lot to he and Jared and it’s one of those things that's like 'oh what we do here it does truly affect people', and there’s a saying in the industry 'we’re not curing cancer' and they’re not but what they might be doing is giving somebody a little bit of hope, giving somebody an escape from dealing with that; it just really hit home for him, it means a lot and it left a big impression. 😭

If they were a muppet which muppet would they be?

Jared would be Big Bird. Jensen would be Oscar the Grouch. And here’s your fun fact of the day, because when Jared answered Big Bird Jensen said that’s Sesame Street not Muppets before the fan said it counted, and it does because Sesame Street characters are technically Muppets! They were created by Jim Henson, and over the years there were actually crossovers between the Muppets and Sesame Street characters my personal favorite instance of this is the Muppet Family Christmas special from '87. And if you wanna bawl your eyes out you can see Big Bird pay homage to Jim Henson in his memorial by singing It’s Not Easy Being Green, both the Christmas special and that are available on youtube. x

Back to the boys, knowing what they know now were they to go to school tomorrow where would they go? And for what?

Jared quips the fan might not be far off because their industry is a little interesting right now. He thinks if he could go back to school there’s so much he’d love to learn, so many things he’s fascinated with he wishes there were 11 of him that could go and earn different degrees. One of the things he’s fascinated by is history and he thinks he would learn a lot about people and himself even from history, and that’s kinda what he tends to read is historical nonfiction, as of right now that would be his answer but ask him tomorrow and he might say French 😆 But he would love to learn more about history.

Jensen doesn’t know maybe a mechanics class, or they were just talking a little bit that morning about neuroscience and it’s just kinda fascinating what we know and what we don’t know about how the human brain works and functions, and another fascinating thing too is astrophysics. He says he and Jared were talking about this last night at which point Jared says Jensen has them in a rabbit hole but basically it was a conversation between Neil deGrasse Tyson and another astrophysicist and he was asking of what we can see and what we know of the universe how much has been researched in the last 50 years, and the professor said that if you were to take the universe and make it the size of the oceans on earth what we know and what we can see would be the equivalent of a 12oz glass of ocean water, and so if you were to say is there life out there well what we can see is no but that would be like taking your glass of water out of the ocean and being like there's no fish so that must mean there’s no fish in the ocean but clearly that’s not true, and Jensen finds that mindblowing.

Jared jokes this is why you don't want to be friends with Jensen cause you stay up all night trying to figure out what the hell he just showed you. x

I do like writing long essays about characters and bonds just to get thoughts out sometimes so I’ll probably be sharing them at somepoint (my goal is to start a YT channel to talk about them but I don’t know if I’ll ever have the time and commitment).

I live for character essays and observations and parrells (they usually tear out my heart and stomp it to peices on the ground)!

Shows I have never seen, have never been into, and you will probably gasp about:

SPN, Dr. Who, X Files, BtVS, Angel, Firefly (though I did see the movie), Xena, Charmed, Babylon 5, Stargate, Lexx, Sliders, Farscape, Roswell, Smallville, Arrow, Lost\

A couple of these I've seen an episode or two (like "Once More, With Feeling" bc I do love a musical) but they've just never interested me beyond that.

I was only really ever casually into Star Trek, because it was on daytime reruns. I watched like all of TNG, and most of DS9 and V'ger, plus all of the movies bc the movies are pretty good.

I think that Creation has the right-ish idea, at the wrong time. They should've begun experimenting with the broader CW brand's convention potential back when the Arrowverse and TVDverse were hot. Maybe even shuffle a few actors from The 100 into the deck. Replace some SPN actors with some other actors at a few conventions, see how sales compare to SPN-only cons. I'm actually surprised that that didn't happen back in the 2010s. In particular, it blows my mind that they never tried to monetize Katie Cassidy's status as a former member of the regular cast on SPN and ongoing member of the regular cast on Arrow.

Now, that strategy may or may not have worked, but it would've been a better bet than "Jensen and related IPs." At least people had a rough idea of what a CW show was, and many people watched SPN + other CW show(s), as evidenced by SPN's value when paired with them (x). For the most part, The CW made shows about dark themes and imaginary situations. At their best, these featured believable characters, yet remained escapist in the particulars of their plots. AND OH, THE ANGST. Maybe the network was the equivalent of fast food rather than fine dining, but, like successful franchise restaurants, it had more or less consistent products in just enough varieties to keep a broad crowd coming back.

"Jensen and associates from shows he's been in" is a tougher sell, at least at CE prices. I liked his performance as Soldier Boy in The Boys, but it's a wildly different show from SPN, and he didn't get enough great scenes with other characters to justify multiple panels with his co-stars. (I'm still irked by how little screen time he shared with Crimson Countess.) Smallville? Well, they can try, but it's a pretty deep cut, from a different era/iteration of the network, and his character doesn't even seem to be popular. Dark Angel? Good luck convincing personal-care maven Jessica Alba that she should take time off to sit on stage with a colleague, that she didn't even get along with, from 20 years ago.

SPN isn't a family show in the sense of "watch it all with your kindergarteners," but it's a show that many people remember fondly from middle and high school, and that many people now watch with their own middle- and high-school kids. And it's very much about the devastating/transcendent nature of intense relationships. The Boys is a satire of contemporary politics, with a heavy dose of shock value. It doesn't demand investment in any particular relationship, it's gross rather than spooky, and I'd certainly feel weird about watching it with a middle-schooler. At ComicCon or DragonCon, these two shows' audiences would spend most of their time in separate rooms. I don't think that, outside of a Jensen solo panel, fans are going to be happy troopers at a convention built around his résumé.

That could, of course, change, should Jensen get another role more compatible with SPN's brand. But for now, I think that his best bet is the same as Jared's: Do press for current roles, book solo panels at multi-fandom conventions, and avoid cons where he has to carry the interest of all the attendees.

So apparently, per a CE email, they are full on rebranding the 2024 SPN Con Tour as Jensen's:

So now Jared is included in the "amazing SPN guests"??? F*ck off. I know he isn't doing them all but this is just… a low blow tbh. This feels like CE's 'f*ck you' to Jared for branching out and essentially screwing them over.

I'm sure AA's and Jared antis will be celebrating int he streets, but Jared isn't doing less cons, he's just doing less CE cons. Also he's actually working.

Oh this is so funny! Always be careful of what you wish for because Jensen finally got his Dean show and the AAs finally got their Jensen-centric show but we all know AAs are actually sweating bullets that Jared won't be around to save Jensen from himself, and hellers will wonder which one of them is going to ruin Misha's reputation......

But seriously, clearly Creation Entertainment saw the math on the wall and the sum of which is a Jared-shaped-hole where money used to be. Jared actually has a career outside of Supernatural , so he Fox-Muldered himself. For reference...

But for Jensen and most alumni, Supernatural will be their best-known gigs. I said here and here 5 years ago that "Misha and the rest of the one hit wonders may have 5 years of con circuit to rake in the money, after that it’s Meet & Greets at strip malls". And that was assuming Jared would still be co-heading with Jensen.

So by now attendances are peeling off and a few actors apparently told their fans that CE reduced their salary to the point that either working at CE is no longer viable or CE essentially fired them. CE is desperate to attract new con-goers by throwing out The Boys mentions and adding Smallville actors and rebranding as "J1 and friends convention"! I wonder if CE is still demanding the same outrageous price for the privilege of a J2 event without one of the Js.

"Every time I heard the ice cream truck, it reminded me of home."

YN opened the front door of the Ackles home and walked inside with JJ right behind her. JJ immediately ran into the living room where Danneel was playing with the twins.

"Hi, JJ. How was school?" she asked the 7-year-old.

"It was great! We worked on adding and minusing things in math," JJ replied.

Danneel chuckled, "I think what you meant is addition and subtraction. Go on upstairs and get started on your homework. Daddy will be home from work soon and we're going out for dinner."

"Yay!" JJ yelled as she ran upstairs to her bedroom.

Danneel turned and saw YN standing by the door, "YN? Is everything okay?"

YN nodded in silence and walked down the hallway towards her room. Once she was in her room, she shut the door behind her and leaned against it, sliding down to the floor.

She sat there for a bit, contemplating everything that had happened at school that day: being pushed into her locker and on the ground, her lunch being thrown across the cafeteria, and not to mention her failed Algebra and Science exams.

Most of the bullying from school, of course, was because she was "the new Ackles kid". She got told day after day how she'd never live up to the standards of the Ackles family.

It surely didn't help the depression she had.

Her mother died roughly 5 years prior and she had been put into foster care. The Ackles family was the first she had known since being put in the system.

They were a nice family, very open and welcoming. But that didn't mean YN was going to be that way.

She kept to herself more than she should: hides the bullying and bad grades from Danneel and Jensen, doesn't have any friends at school, and really doesn't speak all that often.

A startled gasp escaped her lips when a sudden knock at the door snapped her from her thoughts. Her hand jumped to her chest as her breathing was rapid.

"Hey, YN? Are you in there?" Jensen yelled through the door.

YN didn't move or speak. She stayed perfectly still against the door.

"Well, we're thinking about going out to dinner. And if we did so, we thought you'd like to choose where we go," he explained.

YN took a deep breath as she stood on her feet. She turned and opened the door, but her eyes stayed on the ground.

"There you are, kiddo," Jensen smiled.

YN sighed, "You guys should go to dinner. I've got too much homework to do."

"Not an option, YN. You can do some of your homework now, come to dinner, and finish when we get back."

"Please, I just want to-"

"No, YN. You're not going to hide out in your room tonight."

"Jensen, I really need to get this done-"

"It wont' kill you to hang out with your family for one night."

"You are not my family!"

Jensen was taken aback from YN's outburst. She had never lashed out like that. In fact, she had never raised her voice period.

"YN...is everything...all right?" Jensen asked cautiously.

Suddenly realizing she had yelled at him, YN took a step back from the door as tears filled her eyes, "I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean...I j-just...I..."

Jensen walked into her room and knelt down on the ground, "YN, talk to me. What's going on?"

YN shrugged, "Nothing. Just an off day, that's all. It's nothing."

"You know you can tell me anything, YN. You can trust me."

He stared at her for a moment, trying to understand what had gotten her so upset. He reached up, wiped the tears from her eyes and squeezed her shoulder.

"Is there something happening at school? Is it us? Are we doing something wrong?" Jensen asked.

YN closed her eyes, "I just..." tears poured over her eyes and down her face, "I really miss my mom. And I miss my old house and my old life. I feel like everything I do here is wrong. I'm failing classes and I get pushed around at school. JJ and the twins don't want anything to do with me-"

"Now hold on a second. I know for a fact that JJ, Arrow, and Zeppelin love you. And as for the bullies at school, they're just jealous because you are so loved here by us. If you need help in your classes, I can help. I'm not the greatest tutor, but I can do my best."

"And...and my old life and home? My mom?"

Jensen smiled, "Why don't you and I hang out tonight? You can tell me all about her. I'd love to know what she was like. Maybe then I can try and do more things that she did? Or maybe I can talk to Danneel and she could try?"

YN didn't raise her head or make any sort of eye contact, but she did give him a small nod.

"Good. Let's go to the living room then, okay?" Jensen stood on his feet.

He held out his hand to YN, she took it, and they both walked out of her room. They walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.

For the next couple hours, YN told Jensen story after story about things with her mom, her old school and friends, and her old home.

"On hot days in the summer, my mom and I would heard the ice cream truck driving outside. She's always get a bomb pop and I'd get an ice cream sandwich," YN smiled about the memory.

Jensen chuckled, "So that's why I always see you look up when you hear the truck outside."

"Every time I heard the ice cream truck, it reminded me of home," YN replied.

"You and your mom were really close, huh?"

"Closer than close. She was my best friend."

Jensen hugged her, "I'm glad you have such great memories of her."

"Jensen?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm really happy you and Danneel brought me into your home. It's been really hard for me to cope and move on, but it's starting to get easier," YN beamed.

"I'm glad, kiddo. I'm happy you're apart of our family. It wasn't complete without you."

''Canary!'' Sin comes running, dropping to her side, grabbing onto her arm. She looks like she is about to start crying. ''You're hurt.''

''I'm okay,'' Laurel assures her. ''I'm fine. You need to get out of here.''

''No!'' Sin shakes her head adamantly, eyes wide. ''I'm not leaving you!''

''Oh, look at that,'' Shiva says, pulling herself to her hands and knees. ''Your silly little fan has no idea what a bumbling fool you are, does she?''

''She's not,'' Sin cries out, clenching her hands into fists. ''She's the Black Canary!''

''And I,'' Shiva begins, rising effortlessly to her feet, ''am Lady Shiva. You'd do well to remember that, little Piglet.''

''So what?'' Sin's face contorts into anger. ''Nobody cares about Lady Shiva,'' she shrieks out, with the audacity only a child could have. ''Black Canary's better than you ever could be!''

Laurel blinks.

Oh my god, she's about to be murdered in an alley because her deranged cousin's mercenary girlfriend has beef with a six year old.

In all fairness, that does sound like something that would happen to her. Last year, she was murdered by some sad little loser who thought of himself as a wizard and only jabbed her with an arrow to punish the men around her. That was arguably a worse way to die.

Wonder of You and more!

So I’m working on the next chapter. I’ve gotten a TON of likes and reblogs, but not much feedback.

Is there anything you want to see happen? Anything you don’t want to see.

I have an idea of where I’m going and certain things for later on in the series....I’m really using the events of the first couple of seasons to establish Blake and her relationships with the boys, John, etc.

So it’ll be cannonish. Obviously with an OC it never stays 💯 cannon.

I am on a Marvel hiatus right now. I’m still healing from End Game. I really hate what they did with Steve. It was so out of character for him. CE could have exited the MCU with a different end. Hell, I would have rather he snapped Thanos out of existence and sacrificed himself and Tony really retire with Pepper and Morgan. I just...Tony Starks death devastated me. He and Steve are my favorite characters.

I have some TVD stuff to brush off and my Arrow story as well.

I had some health issues that really destroyed my ability to function so my writing fell by the wayside. Both my own works and FanFiction. But I’m slowly crawling back!
