that’s really the core of lucifer, i suppose. he knows that something horribly, desperately, unspeakably wrong was done to him. and god did that. so. there’s nothing that can be done but to accept it as it is.

5x19 Hammer of Gods
I haven't watched this episode, I never will.
I knew about it, but I first time I read the plot and transcript when I was ploting Cauldron of Ink Verse. I logged out that day, and I was just so angry,
There are two Hindu gods in this episode, lord Ganesha and goddess Kali and lord krishna is mentioned.
I am religious, my faith may not drive me, but it keeps me afloat when things get bad.
Kali Mata is an avatar of goddess Parvati. She is firece, she is symbol of woman power and anger. When Maa Parvati went on a rampage as Kali Mata, no one knew how to stop her, God's were scared of stepping in her way, until until lord Shiva took form of a child and appealed to Maa Parvati.
The way she is presented in that episode fills me with rage and disgust, and I know it's a Me problem and I know that the makers of SPN don't share my faith but I can't just ignore that. I already ignore a LOT of problems I have with show, especially the way women are treated. This just too personal, it hurts
People in India would have killed makers and writers of that episode with bare hands. And this is not an exaggeration

I keep thinking of this, really. From 11x22:
DEAN: Couldn't you just compel them? CHUCK: I invented free will for a reason...No, you can't make an effective soldier by force. They have to choose this fight.
From 8x12:
HENRY : [laughs] You're not. Are you? Hunters? Well, hunters are... Hunters are apes. You're supposed to – you're legacies.
///
DEAN: Why, because we're hunters? What do you have against us? HENRY: Aside from the unthinking, unwashed, shoot-first-and-don't-bother-to-ask-questions-later part, not much, really.
///
SAM: You know what? Wait a second. We're also John's children. HENRY: You're more than that, actually. My father and his father before him were both Men of Letters, as John and you two should have been. We're preceptors, beholders, chroniclers of all that which man does not understand. We share our findings with a few trusted hunters – the very elite. They do the rest.
///
From 12x17
British MoL from 12x17: Hunters are dogs, Mr. Davies. You give them an order, and they obey. That's how it works. So tell me, do they? Do they obey you?
"Military men are just dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy." -Henry Kissinger
///
And 7x17:
DEAN: You know, I used to be able to just shake this stuff off. You know, whatever it was. It might take me some time, but... I always could. What Cas did... I just can't – I don't know why. EMMANUEL/CASTIEL: Well, it doesn't matter why. DEAN: Of course it matters. EMMANUEL/CASTIEL: No. You're not a machine, Dean. You're human.
///
And 8x21:
CASTIEL: We aren't machines for them to program and reprogram. That wasn't what this was meant to be. ION: Nothing matters. CASTIEL: You are so wrong, brother. It all matters.
(13x14 script:)

Do you think the writers knew by rewriting the Prose Edda the way they did that they’ve reframed the narrative to make Gabriel Loki’s wife?

gabriel's death in 5.19 not having any real ramifications for the world did weaken the apocalypse plot quite a bit tbh...just letting the apocalypse proceed as planned, with lucifer and michael fighting and michael presumably winning, would be basically ok if not for the implication that them fighting would wipe out huge swaths of people. sam dying would suck but it would be better than the cage, as long as it was just sam and lucifer dying — but they keep telling us that it wouldn't just be sam and lucifer; the prize fight would be devastating at a population scale even if lucifer lost. and it was easy to imagine that a showdown between two archangels would be massive at that scale, up until we saw a showdown between two archangels that wasn't massive. lucifer and gabriel fought, gabriel died, that was that. how much more dramatic would a michael-lucifer fight be? even if it was a few times worse, it seems like it might only affect the immediately surrounding area. gabriel's death (or even "death") should have been bigger, if they were going to kill an archangel and still keep the stakes high enough to justify all of that
