Dean:
dean is scared
idk at first he thought you were gonna die
he was so scared when you curled yourself up in a little ball
he learned to just go with whatever you wanted
cuddles? always. stay the fuck away from you? gladly
literally ask him for anything he will be out and grabbing it for you within two minutes.
he’s always stocked with products for you
he also always has heating pads and medicine for you. he’s so worried about your health
he wants to make sure you’re comfortable
he makes you stay in bed and no hunts until the bleeding stops
he gets you presents
Sam:
sam has a whole bag for you
emergency pads, tampons, extra underwear, medicine
he gets nervous
is ALWAYS right by your side
floods you with compliments and worries
“are you going to be okay?” “yes sam. just like every other month.”
“you’re so pretty, y/n.”
just. ugh. i love him
he will go out and buy you pads or tampons or cups or whatever the fuck you use with no shame
he tries to not make you mad or overwhelm you
he always takes off hunts to be with you
what a cute boy <3
he just wants the best for you
Castiel:
first of all, cas is horrified that you have to go through this
when you explain in detail why you get cramps, he swears he almost passes out
poor boy is so worried about his love
he tracks it on his phone
just so he can stock up on products for you
he writes you love letters and buys you candy
he also will watch all of your silly little movies with you
you don’t ever have to ask
Gabe:
Gabe is always tryna make you laugh
he’s very ill prepared and he dosent know what to do
he annoys you accidentally a lot and then gets scared when you yell/cry/other emotions
he buys you flowers for every day of your period
he also learned somewhere that orgasms help lessen the pain of period cramps so..

he watches your movies with you and cooks food you for constantly
he cried with you at bambi
“the mom dies????”
“Y/N WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME WATCH THIS?”

• When Dean first meets you in the middle of bumfuck nowhere on a hunt, he's not surprised that you know his name
• Afterall, he has brought on the apocalypse more than once, and the hunter community isn't exactly known for its ability for people to keep their mouths shut
• What does surprise him, though, is your knowledge on him as a person
• It's nothing creepy— the thought of someone knowing all about him in that way brings him back to where he first met Becky through Chuck, and the thought makes him shudder —but just enough to where it's obvious you've done some digging and people reading of your own
• "Brought back some pie with dinner; didn't know what you wanted so I got apple."
• "Careful handling this case, it's got some nasty demons. We don't want you diving head first into hell. Again."
• "No no, don't use that. It didn't work on that shape-shifter you ganked last year in Massachusetts, so it won't work on this one. Throw it out." You eventually say one night while looking in Baby's trunk for some ammo, and Dean finally turns to face you
• "How did you know that? How do you know any of these things?" He clears his throat, squinting. You shrug with a barely there smile
• "Who do you think cleans up your messes when you're done, Dean? And what can I say. Word gets around."
• It's a simple case of Dean's reputation preceding him. Although, as you discover, there's a lot more to the Winchester than just his precious car, a strange love for greasy food, and his ability to fight off a demon with his bare hands
• "You sure you aren't obsessed with me? Because its totally fine if you're obsessed. I mean, look at me." Dean asks you at one point while gesturing down at himself. He's leaning on his car door in what he probably thought was a sexy manner, watching as you lugged some equipment out to the vehicle. You manage to press your lips together just in time to hide your amused grin
• "Keep dreaming, man." You shake your head. "There's a difference between reading up on people, and stalking them."
• "So you admit it?" He grins misheviously, pushing himself off Baby. "That you've spent your spare time thinking about me?"
• "Sure. And those witnesses never mentioned you'd be this insufferable." You scoff light heartedly, even though thats exactly what some of them said, and leave it at that. But for the rest of the hunt Dean can't stop elbowing you in the ribs to make a playful remark; something that, strangely, you don't find yourself minding
𝐒𝐚𝐦
• Unlike his brother, Sam takes the information that you practically already knew him with a bit of embarrassment
• Sure, he had been (or was supposed to be) Lucifer's vessel, and sure he also had a habit of being at the center of everything world ending, but he never really conciders him anyone other than a hunter that just happens to get the worst cases
• So when you just offhandedly started dropping these facts about him, he's a little off put
• "How'd you know that?"
• "You're literally one of the most infamous hunters to ever exist, Sam. You tangle with angels. Most of us only ever get to meet a werewolf or two before a friend is organizing our funeral the week after."
• "Oh. Right"
• Gets a little curious after a while as to what you exactly know. It's not like he keeps a journal about his feelings that the public can read, and that this point he's just praying you haven't discovered Chuck's Supernatural series, so he'd probably ask you all of what you know and why you know it
• "So you're telling me you've done research on our hunting styles—" Sam asks you while leaning forward. You nod, so he continues. "—and all the people we've ever pissed off?"
• "Call it too much free time, which I certainly don't have enough of these days, but I knew if I ever ran into you two knuckle heads, and I knew it would happen eventually whether I wanted it to or not, then I would need to be prepared." You dragged a hand down your face and exhaled for a moment. "That meant making a checklist of every vamp, demon, or god you've ever had out for your head. And trust me, it's a lot."
• He's silent for a moment after you finish, but it doesn't take long for him to pipe up again
• "Can I see it?"
• Safe to say, after seeing the list, Sam started to rethink some of his past decisions
• "Seriously, how are we not dead yet??"
• "Buddy, I have no idea."
𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐥
• He does not understand why you seem to know so much about him. Not only as a person, but as an angel
• Castiel is used to the Winchester's asking questions. The first year of knowing them was filled with 'How Did You Do That''s and 'Can You Do This''s. He'd answer all of them, even if he found their questions to be on a kindergarten level most of the time, until eventually they had no more to ask
• You hadn't been like that. Castiel doesn't think he could ever recall you asking him things unless they were about hunts or special circumstances, like the time Sam lost his soul. Hell, you seemed to know more about him than some angels knew about themselves
• Grace knowledge, wing anatomy, biblical lore—you name it and Castiel's probably heard it come out of your mouth at some point
• He gets around to asking you about it one day, albeit very bluntly
• "You don't ask questions." Castiels voice sounds from behind you. You don't even bother to turn around; you heard his wings flutter the moment before he dropped in
• "What do you mean Cas?" You sucked some air between your teeth as you scribbled away at the papers before you. It was something Sam had asked you to follow up on, and you'd been at it for a hot minute now. Hopefully you could make this conversation quick so you could get back to it
• "About angels." A beat of silence. "About me."
• This time you do turn around in your seat to look at him. He's already studying you with that silent squint, and you resist the urge to mirror it
• "Why would I ask questions I already know the answers to?" You parry. The case papers lay on the table, forgotten by now. Your response gets you a rare, but endearing, Cas head tilt
• Upon further questioning, he finds out you'd spent a lot of your early hunting years doing nothing but reading up on anything remotely supernatural. Even calling them 'hunting years' was a stretch. You were more like a crazed researcher that never left the library than a hunter, even resorting to keep mountains upon mountains of notes on ancient lore stored away in the margins of dusty books
• "That's certainly explains why you weren't surprised when we met for the first time and I healed you." Cas's low voice drawled slowly after you gave him a moment to interject. "Or how you knew the symbol for sending us back to heaven before Dean or Sam ever did."
• "Like I said." You smiled to yourself, and Castiel got the feeling he was missing a part of the joke. "Lots of reading."
𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥
• Do not bring up that you used to have an angel phase back in college. Under no circumstances should you reveal that. He will never let you live it down
• Especially if he finds out you used to study artwork and literature about him specifically
• It's all over the moment he finds your old school books. They're stuffed full of old crinkled pages with his name thrown in there. Of course, this was way back when the idea of angels being real was laughable to you and you still had dreams of graduating college, but that doesn't change to fact that the notes are there, and that Gabriel found them
• "Wait wait wait listen to this—" An old binder is clutched in the hands of a very amused and very heavenly being as he paces around your spot at a table. His eyes are skimming the pages as a speed quicker than light, and Gabriel's shit eating smile grows as he continues to read
• "The archangel Gabriel isn't depicted as much as his brothers Micheal or Lucifer in classic literature, but when he is, it is often as a symbol of great power and beauty—"
• "I'm going to kill you." You cut him off and groan with hot cheeks. Your hands had come up to cover your face a while ago in an attempt to keep what little dignity you had, but something told you it wasn't working
• "Glad to know you think I'm beautiful, sweet cheeks." Was all Gabriel said. You could hear the teasing lit in his voice. Sure enough, when you looked up to glare at him, he was already looking at you and wiggling his brows suggestively. It took you a total to three seconds to throw the closest thing at his head
• "Hey hey! Watch the beautiful goods!" He laughed while dodging a pencil. It his his chest anyway and bounced to the ground with a dull thud
• "Gabriel." Your tone was downright murderous
• "Okay, okay! I'll stop!"
• He does, in fact, not stop. Someone restrain him for the love of Chuck, for he is getting way too much enjoyment out of poking fun at you
• You're gonna have to avoid him for the next few weeks after that if you want to keep your embarassment levels to a minimum. No other way around it
• Let's just hope he never realizes you had to spend time in art class analyzing renaissance paintings of him in the nude. Now that would be the conversation to end all conversations
• "Heyyy, you never told me you had an art folder—"
• Oh shit.

Sam and Dean & nephilim!reader, Cas & nephilim!reader
Requested by Anonymous
Synopsis: Gabriel messes around and ends up creating a nephilim, and Cas is tasked with keeping the kid safe.
A/N: guys I finally finished a request! Hopefully the next one won’t take me so long, you guys have been so patient as I start up college again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I need you to do something for me.”
Gabriel’s appearance at the bunker a month after Angel radio went nuts over a nephilim’s creation was unexpected and unwanted, to say the least.
“From us?” Dean narrowed his eyes at the archangel. “Don’t tell me you’re the one who—“
“Not you, Winchesters. I’m talking to Castiel.”
Castiel looked up in surprise at this declaration.
“My help? And why would I—“
“The nephilim is mine. And she’s growing fast.”
“She?” Sam asked. Gabe offered him a half glance.
“Yes, she. I can feel it. And she’s going to be born any day now.”
“What does that have to do with me?” Castiel demanded.
“I can’t keep her safe,” Gabriel admitted after a moment’s hesitation, his features tightened. “If I get anywhere near her, there’s a line of enemies that will follow. I need her somewhere safe, and I can’t take her there.” Gabriel swallowed, glancing at the brothers before looking back at Castiel. “This is the safest place I could think of.” Before Dean could interrupt, Gabriel raised his voice and continued. “The warding will keep out most enemies, and it’s nearly undetectable to angels.”
“We can’t just house a nephilim!” Dean exclaimed. “Not happening. No way.”
“I have no other options, no one else to go to,” Gabriel pleaded. “She’s just a baby—“
“A baby with power,” Sam added. “And we don’t know how much power.”
“She’s innocent,” Gabriel added. “She’s just a baby, and she doesn’t deserve to get hunted down like this. There’s nowhere else she can go—it’s either the bunker, or she’s dead.”
This time, Gabriel’s argument was met with silence. Castiel was the first to break it.
“You want me to retrieve her, and bring her here.”
“It’s her only chance.” None of the boys had ever seen Gabriel look so humble—so vulnerable.
“I’ll do it.”
“Cas—“
“No, Dean,” Cas interrupted him. “I have to do this.”
“Let us come with you,” Sam spoke up.
“Sam!” Dean turned to his brother, thunderstruck.
“No,” Cas said. “I should go alone, it’s safer.”
“You shouldn’t be going at all!” Dean insisted. “We don’t know what—“
“This being deserves a chance,” Cas interrupted. “And I’m going to give it to her.”
Gabriel left quickly to go into hiding, and Cas left soon after. The address Gabriel gave him was only a few hours away, but when Cas got there he arrived to a surprise.
The mother—Cas had no idea who she was—was already dead. Cas was just beginning to panic when he heard crying, and he rounded the bed to see you—a little toddler, crying on the floor at the foot of the bed.
“Hey, hey it’s alright,” Cas soothed as he wrapped a nearby blanket around your shivering, unclothed body. “Hey, you’re safe now.” He had no idea how or why you were already a toddler, but he figured it didn’t matter—as long as he could get you safe.
You stopped crying as soon as you were in Cas’s arms, your big Y/E/C eyes blinking up at the angel.
“You’re going to be alright little one,” Cas said. “I promise.”
Considering the dead woman on the bed not three feet away, Cas felt that his promise was less than convincing, but you relaxed completely into him, your little arms wrapping around his neck and holding on tight.
Cas carried you out to his car—he wasn’t so sure about angel transportation with a newborn nephilim, so human transportation was his choice—while keeping his eyes peeled for any interference, of which there was, thankfully, none.
“I suppose I should get you some food and some clothing,” Castiel said, mostly to himself, although if you spoke up he’d be grateful. You didn’t, though; you just blinked up at him with those big eyes, and Cas felt more lost than ever.
He knew enough about humans—and you were at least half human—to know that babies only drank milk, and as they got older they gained an affinity for solid foods. But you were somewhere between a newborn and a toddler. Would milk be enough to sustain you? Would you even understand how to eat solid foods? It was all confusing for an angel who already felt out of his depth.
Castiel stopped at the first store he came across, and he carried you with him—you were still wrapped in that blanket he had grabbed from your mother’s house—as he started to grab anything he thought he’d need to take care of you, including a lot he probably didn’t need. As soon as he’d paid for everything, he carried you into the family restroom so he could get you into the clothes he’d picked up, as you still seemed too young to be capable of dressing yourself.
“Alright,” Castiel said after you were dressed, looking at you long and hard for a moment before sighing in near-defeat. “I don’t know why your father picked me for this mission, Sam or Dean would be much better at—“ a crash from somewhere outside the restroom had Castiel whipping around, prepared for a threat. But the door remain closed, and whatever had made noise was now silent.
Castiel turned back around only when he felt a tug on his arm. He looked down to see you—but he didn’t have to look as far down as he expected. Cas blinked in surprise, taking in the sight of you, now maybe six inches taller and a few years older, the clothes on you stretched and far too small.
“What…” Cas breathed, unsure what to even ask.
You just tugged at his hand again, gripping it firmly in your shaking hands.
“I’m scared.” It was the first words Cas had heard you speak, and they snapped him back into focus.
“I’m not going to let anyone hurt you. Now how did you get so big?”
You just blinked up at Cas, apparently unwilling to speak again.
“It’s ok,” Cas sighed. “It doesn’t matter, I just…let’s get you some bigger clothes and get you out of here.”
Cas led you out towards the clothing section, turning his back on you for just a second to find the right size. But once he turned around again, you were gone.
“Hey!” Cas realized just then that he didn’t know your name. He whirled around frantically, trying to catch sight of you between the racks of clothing. He rushed down aisle after aisle, freezing when he got to the third one and saw a girl that looked suspiciously like you, but was now three inches taller, being cornered by a large man whose eyes flashed black.
Cas didn’t speak, he just took four large strides, and as soon as the demon turned to look at him, he stretched out his hand and placed it against the demon’s forehead. There was a flash of light behind the demon’s eyes, and he dropped to the floor after only a second. You looked from the dead demon to Castiel in awe.
“Why do you keep getting bigger?” Castiel sighed, bending down slightly to look you in the eye.
“I wasn’t big enough to stop him.” Your voice came out in a quiet whimper—you were shaking in fear. “It was scary, so I wanted to get bigger, and…and then I just did.” Your big eyes were gonna be the death of Cas, he just knew it; especially when they were filled with tears like now. “Did I do something wrong?”
“Hey, no, it’s ok, it’s just…not many people can do that. Most people have to say the size they are until they grow.” You still looked concerned, so Cas waved it off. “It doesn’t matter, you didn’t do anything wrong. Now let’s get you into some bigger clothes and get you safe.”
At this point, you looked like a young teenager, so Castiel went to a different clothes section to find you something. You held his hand the whole way, which Cas was grateful for—he didn’t want to lose you again.
Cas picked up a size for you and sent you off to put it on, making sure he could see you entering and leaving the bathroom. While you were gone, he grabbed about three more sizes in case you spontaneously grew again.
“I’m ready,” you said as you returned to Castiel.
“Ok…” Cas stared at you for a moment. “Do…do you know your name?”
“My name…” you pondered the question for a long moment. “Yes, I…Y/N. I remember my mother calling me that…before I was born. She named me Y/N.”
Cas smiled.
“Ok then. Y/N it is.”
Once you were ready, Cas led you out to his car and the two of you were finally on your way again. The car went along in silence for several miles, but Cas could tell you were contemplating something, and after a while you finally got up the courage to speak.
“Are you my father?”
The question shouldn’t have surprised Cas, but he froze up the moment it left your mouth.
“I…no, I’m not,” he said finally. “Your father’s name is Gabriel. He wanted to be here, really, but it was too dangerous. He…let’s just say he has a lot of enemies.”
“Is that why my mother is dead?” Your voice was more subdued this time, and the question again froze Castiel.
“No, little one,” Cas began hesitantly. How could he tell you that your mother died giving birth to you? “Your mother, she…she chose to save you, rather than herself.”
“Save me?” You prodded. “Is it because I…I can do things, like grow?”
“Kind of.” Castiel ran a hand over his face, willing the car ride to end. “Your father is an archangel, and that makes you a nephilim. But your mother, she was just a human. She…she couldn’t bring you into this world and survive, her body wasn’t strong enough.”
Your silence was starting to scare Cas more than your questions.
“So…so I killed my mom?” It was with tears in your eyes that you finally spoke again.
“No,” Castiel insisted. “No, you did not choose any of this, this isn’t your fault. Your mother and father made their choices, you’re just the result of them. But your mother’s death is not on you.”
“It still feels like it is,” you mumbled. “How…how do I miss someone I’ve never met?” You blinked up at Cas, and he swore he’d never felt more out of his depth.
“Look, I…I know that you don’t have your parents here right now, but I’m going to look after you. I’m going to take you to a safe place, and I promise that you’re going to be alright.”
“Why are you helping me?” You asked. Cas barely had to think about the answer to this.
“Because I believe that you deserve a chance, the same as anyone else. You’ve got powers, little one. Powers that might scare some people. But I think that you’re good, and I’m not scared of you just because of your strength.”
“What if I’m not good?” Your gaze faltered, falling away from Cas’s. “What if you should be scared of me?”
“Good isn’t something that you’re born as,” Cas said. “It’s something you choose. You can choose good, if you want to.”
“I do,” you insisted. “I just…I don’t think I know how.”
A hint of a smile crossed Cas’s lips.
“Well I can try to teach you. And my friends, they will too.”
The rest of the ride to the bunker passed uneventfully, but Cas began to get nervous the closer he got to the bunker. He was all but forcing this nephilim onto Sam and Dean, so how would they react when he arrived? Would they be scared of you, or force Cas to leave? Would they not want to put themselves in danger to help some non-human?
It didn’t seem like the Sam and Dean that Cas knew, but then again they’d never been presented with a nephilim before.
“Your friends.” Your words startled Cas out of his thoughts. “Are they…like you?”
“You mean angels?” Cas had explained who he was to you. “No, no they’re human. But they like to help people. I believe they’ll help you.” Cas had to believe it—he had to.
“You’re back.” Dean’s greeting seemed less then happy as he stared Cas down. “Where’s the—“
“Hello.”
Dean‘s gaze whipped around from Cas to you as you stepped up beside Cas.
“What the—I thought she was just born.” Dean looked back at Cas, questions swimming behind his eyes.
“She was, she uh…she grew up fast,” Cas offered lamely.
“Why?” Sam spoke up for the first time, eying you nervously, but he didn’t look as threatening as Dean.
“I got scared,” you said. “So I had to grow up fast.”
“What’s your name?” Sam asked before Dean could say anything else.
“I’m Y/N.” Sam noticed the way you were almost hiding behind Cas. He couldn’t tell if you were scared of him, or just shy, but either way he tried to make himself look as non threatening as possible.
“Well, I’m Sam and this is my brother, Dean. C’mon down here and we can show you where to sleep.” Sam pointedly ignored Dean’s glare. “Do you need anything to eat?”
“No, I’m not hungry,” you decided after a moment of pondering.
“Good, now you can explain to us what kind of powers you have and how you plan to use them,” Dean cut in, ignoring the glares from Sam and Cas.
“I…” the question froze you, and Cas jumped in.
“Dean, it’s been a long day. Just let her get some sleep.”
“Oh, sure, and while she’s sleeping, every demon and angel on earth is pulling out all the stops to get to her! I mean she could be working with any of them!”
“Why would she work with them?” Sam demanded. “They want her dead.”
“Yeah, or they want to use her powers! She could’ve cut a deal with them.”
“Dean, she’s just a kid,” Cas interjected.
“Yeah, a kid who was a baby a couple hours ago. She’s not normal, she’s a freak! Who knows what else she’ll do?”
“Dean, calm down—“ Sam’s attempt at keeping the peace just made Dean angrier.
“Calm down?! We have a nephilim in our house, and we don’t know what it can do!”
“She’s not an i-“ Cas’s interruption went completely unnoticed by Dean.
“And we don’t know what side it’s on! Gabriel was always switching sides, what makes you think this kid is gonna be any different?”
“Dean, she doesn’t even know Gabriel,” Cas argued.
“But he’s still the father. She could still—“
“Stop it!” Your outburst froze all three men, and it took you a prolonged minute to realize why; they couldn’t move. By just your word, you’d rendered them incapable of doing anything but stare at you—Sam and Cas in amazement, Dean in anger. “I didn’t…” your gaze focused on Cas, almost pleading with him to help you. “I-I didn’t mean to. I didn’t—I don’t know how to stop it.” You stared down at your hands, and then back up. “I didn’t mean it! Let them go!”
The three men moved simultaneously as their joints relaxed and their legs moved. Dean took a half step back from you, Sam stayed where he was, and Cas came up to stand in front of you.
“It’s ok,” he whispered as you started to shake. “I know you didn’t mean to, it’s ok.”
“I’m sorry,” you whimpered. “I don’t think I can control this.”
Cas knelt down, his blue eyes locking onto yours.
“I know you can. I’m going to help you.”
“Me too.” You hadn’t noticed Sam approaching you until his hand was on your shoulder. “I know a little bit about self control.”
Dean lingered in the corner, wariness etched onto his features, but the anger was somewhat dissipated.
“Come with me,” Sam continued—he was still ignoring Dean’s glares. “I’ll get you settled in.”
You let Sam lead you down a hallway. You could hear Dean start to yell at Castiel the moment you left the room, and Cas was yelling right back.
“Uh, this room is empty,” Sam said, stopping in front of a door. “So you can use it.”
“Ok,” you mumbled, standing in front of the door and rocking back and forth on your heels. “I’m sorry for being so much trouble,” you added, your head ducked low.
“Your dad has helped us out before,” Sam said. “So I’m glad you’re here—I want to help you.”
“Dean said my dad did bad stuff, too,” you said.
“Yeah, he…is a complicated man.” Sam shook his head, a wry smile on his face. “Well, anyway…” Sam opened up the door to your room, stepping back so you could go inside. You took a hesitant step inside before turning around and looking up at Sam, as if worried he was going to leave.
“What should I do if the demons or angels come inside?” You asked, your voice tight and high pitched.
“Hey.” Sam put a comforting hand on your shoulder. “You don’t have to worry about that, trust me. They don’t know where this place is, and it’s warded. They can’t get to you, we won’t let them.”
Your features visibly relaxed.
“Ok.” You found yourself wrapping your arms around the kind man before you’d really made the decision to do it. “Thank you.”
He was stiff for a moment, but quickly he reciprocate the hug.
“You’re gonna be ok,” he promised.
The next week passed about as Cas had expected, although even he was surprised at how eager Sam was to help you. Sam hung around the bunker the entire week, getting you used to life on earth and everything you didn’t know.
Dean however, remained fairly hostile. But things weren’t as bad as they’d been the first day, and Cas was even starting to notice Dean warm up to you in little ways; making a little extra food at breakfast, letting you join him in the Dean cave when he was watching something—things like that.
You might have gotten too comfortable around Dean based on his attitude, because when Dean announced to the general area that he had found a hunt you spoke up—
“I’ll help!”
The trio of men looked over at you with varying degrees of surprise.
“Are you sure?” Cas asked.
“No!” Dean insisted. “You’re staying here, I’m not babysitting some kid on the hunt.”
“I don’t want you to babysit me,” you argued. “I want to help.”
“Sam, help me out here,” Dean demanded. When Sam seemed reluctant, Dean groaned, “oh come on!”
“Well, maybe she can help!” Sam offered. “Give her a chance.”
Dean glanced from Sam to Cas, hoping one of them would break. When they didn’t, he huffed in annoyance, but his shoulders slumped.
“Fine.”
The long car ride was going surprisingly well. Dean’s music was your first introduction to the art, and your enthusiastic response instantly gained you brownie points with Dean.
Each and every song that came on elicited the same response from you—
“Is this the best one?”
And every time the brothers would respond at the same time, Dean with a “yes!” And Sam with a “no!” All in all, Cas couldn’t have asked for a better bonding experience.
“Alright,” Dean said after a while, turning the music down. “We’ll be there soon, so we need to talk this out. From all appearances, it’s a vampire—a nest, actually. Now as soon as we locate it, I want Sam and Cas to be ready with the dead man’s blood, and…” Dean seemed to be rethinking his plan for a moment, before he made up his mind… “and I want the kid with me.” Dean’s eyes met yours in the rearview mirror, and his voice was suddenly more firm. “You need to be careful, and you need to not be in the way. Do you understand me?”
You were trying to hide your excited smile as you replied.
“Yes sir.”
You didn’t help. Or stay out of the way. In fact, barring lost limbs or lives, the hunt couldn’t have gone much worse, and you knew it was your fault.
Your first sight of a vampire scared you so much, that some of your nephilim energy came from you without you planning on it, blasting several vamps—and unfortunately Dean—away from you. Unfortunately, that blast of power had you thinking that maybe you could take on the vamps magically. This tactic just meant that you got in Dean’s way, and your magic didn’t respond the way you wanted it to—it didn’t respond at all.
Because of this, nearly half the vampires got away, and the ones that didn’t went straight for the easy target; you.
You were on the floor with a vampire drinking from your neck before Dean was even able to start swinging. He took out the two vampires that went for him before he able to get to you. He pried the vampire away from your neck before taking care of it with a single swing.
“Are you crazy?!” You were gasping for breath, blood mingling with sweat and tears as you tried to calm down while Dean yelled at you. “I told you to be careful! I told you not to get in the way! You could’ve—“ Dean cut himself off with a huff, turning to look for any remaining vampires. “I’ve gotta go find the nest before they get to Cas and Sam. You stay here.” The look Dean gave you before he left ensured your complete obedience to his order.
You slumped down onto the floor, drained and desperate to calm down. How could you have screwed up so badly, and right when Dean was finally starting to trust you?
You were finally able to breathe normally again by the time Dean returned with Sam and Cas in tow.
“A few of them got away,” Dean grumbled. “But they’re long gone now, and without their nest I don’t think they’re coming back.
“Dean, I didn’t—“ you barely got a couple of words out before Dean cut you off.
“Don’t! No, I don’t want to hear it. You could’ve gotten killed, you could’ve gotten one of us killed!”
“Dean,” Sam interrupted. “Dean, we should go. She’s hurt, and so is Cas—he’s too weak to heal, we gotta regroup.”
Dean led the dejected group to the Impala, but as soon as the car was on the road the yelling started up again. Sam and Cas were too tired to stop Dean, so you curled up in your corner of the Impala and listened to Dean’s criticisms of all you had done wrong. Within minutes, the words seemed to blend into each other and all you could hear was the anger in his tone and the harsh beating of your heart. You could feel the adrenaline still pumping in your veins, but it only seemed to highlight your fear and the pain in your neck and the tears that were building behind your eyes. The toxic combination seemed to build up until it was all you could feel, and it felt like anything more would make you snap—
“I mean how could you be so stupid?!”
That was it.
“Stop it!” Dean looked taken aback at your outburst. “I know that I screwed it all up, and I’m sorry! I’m sorry that Cas got hurt, and I’m sorry that the vampires got away. But I can’t fix that now, and I’m freaking out and I’m bleeding and I don’t want to listen to you yell anymore! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I’ll say it as much as you want to hear it, just stop yelling at me!”
It was a good thing that the Impala was nearing the bunker, otherwise the four of you would’ve suffocated on the silence in the car.
“Come with me,” Dean told you as you all stepped out of the car. Cas started forwards, but Dean waved him off. “Go fix that—“ he gestured at the wound on Cas’s side—it wasn’t deep, but it was long. “I’ve got her.”
Neither Cas nor Sam argued; they just went off to their own rooms to get cleaned off. You trailed behind Dean as if you were marching to your death sentence. He noticed this about halfway down the hallway.
“I’m not going to yell at you again,” he insisted. “So relax.”
The tension in your shoulders eased, but you still didn’t speak as Dean led you to his room and instructed you to sit on his bed while he disappeared into the bathroom. He returned a moment later with a first aid kit in hand, the anger on his face all but gone.
“Let me see it.”
You pulled your hair to the side so Dean could get at the bite marks on your neck. You weren’t sure why you couldn’t heal yourself the way Cas sometimes could—maybe you were just too scared to figure out your powers now—but Dean didn’t question it; he just got to fixing the problem.
“This is gonna sting,” he warned you as he soaked a cotton ball with alcohol before pressing it to your neck. You forced yourself not to hiss in pain, but you couldn’t hold back the way your face twitched and your shoulder flinched. Dean didn’t comment, though.
“I am sorry,” you mumbled as Dean quietly continued to clean your wound.
“I know,” he replied simply. “I don’t think I can trust you on hunts anymore, but I do get that you’re sorry. And maybe I went a little too hard on you, ok? So how ‘bout we just forgive each other and move on. Maybe…maybe start over.”
“Ok,” you said, your lips twitching into a smile. “I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you.”
Despite himself, Dean chuckled.
“Don’t be a dork,” he insisted. But after a moment’s pause he continued— “I’m Dean. It’s nice to meet you too.”
And the two of you lapsed into a comfortable silence as Dean finished patching up your neck. His concerned features each time you hissed in pain, and his gentle touch so as not to hurt you, had you thinking one thing;
This is one heck of a second chance.

Waking up in the dark with a body that’s not much taller than yours surprisingly except it was incredibly heavier than expected. When you move, you feel the softest thing on you. You look and it’s a fucking wing, giant golden wings. Your mouth gapes open.
Unknowingly to you, Gabriel has not moved and remains relaxed but his eyes are open and his angelic senses are very much aware of you. He inwardly chuckles and preens at your reaction to his wings.
You slowly turn, shifting slightly to not disturb the wings as much as possible, to see who is cuddling you. “Gabriel?!” You stage whisper, seeing his golden yellow eyes watch you. He smiles softly at you.
“Hey, Sweet pea,” Gabriel quietly greets.
“Why are you in my bed?” You looked down at yourself and felt you were still in your PJs so you didn’t get up and do something stupid. You quirk a questioning brow at him.
“You prayed to me in your sleep,” he stage-whispers back.
You open your mouth to deny it, and then your eyes down towards Gabe’s wing without seeing them. You think about your nightmare, men doing indescribable things to you that make you scream in pain but you don’t remember what you said. It somehow turned good when Gabriel showed up in all his angelic glory and amazing battle armor with his wings out to defeat the bad men hurting you.
“I prayed to you?” You ask him.
He nods.
You roll fully over and get as close as you can to him. Suddenly, you realize he is shirtless and in boxers or shorts, you’re not sure. The heat crawls up your face to your ears.
Gabriel smiles. “I love it when you blush. Your freckles pop.”
This causes you to warm further knowing your face darkens.
“Hey,” he says, gently. “I told you. You call me, I’ll come running as fast as I can. I said I’d be here for you. I am.” He pauses. “I know I can’t be here all the time but I’m trying.”
You grin at his words and move to scoot up to be face-to-face with him.
“Hey, lovely.”
“Hey, flowers.”
Your nickname for him since his eyes match so many yellow flowers. Depending on his mood, the tone changes.
He rolls his eyes and you can’t see it but know he did. You know him pretty well.
“Thank you,” you say barely above a whisper.
“Always.”
Wrapping your arms around him, you lean forward and lightly rub your nose against his with a small smile on your lips. He returns the nose rub in kind.
“Come ‘ere, pumpkin.” He wraps his arms around you, pulling you down then against him, so you can put your ear on his chest and listen to his heartbeat.
“I’m not a pu’kin,” you mumble against him.
“Right, no gords. Check. What about puddin’?”
You sleepily giggle at ‘puddin’’, shaking your head.
“No desserts. Hmm.” He kisses your head and lays his cheek on your head.
“I like honey or, um, sweets.”
“Anything else?”
You press your lips together not wanting to tell him your favorite since you’re embarrassed. You shift up a little, putting your head on his shoulder.
“I can hear your thoughts, you know.”
“That’s cheatin’,” you mumble against his neck.
He grins and chuckles. He lays his cheek on yours. You can feel the smile on his lips as he says it into your ear. You hide a small shiver that runs down your spine, and then he says in your favorite language with a shiver you can’t cover up.
You bite your lower lip and place an awkward, small kiss below his ear as confirmation.
He chuckles, deeply. So much so that you can feel the vibrations in his chest. It’s comforting to hear and feel him talk.
“Are ya stayin’?”
“For as long as I can, Y/N.”
You hum your approval and move down slightly to cuddle against his chest again. “Your wings are soft”
Gabriel hums approvingly with a slight flutter from his wing.

His Favourite Little Human
Tumblr media
@skievers‘ request; Bestie can you write me a Gabriel x Fem reader who is Sam & Dean’s sister and is currently kidnapped as a hostage and Gabriel has to find her? Thanks! 🥰
“Y/N! Breakfast! Bacon’s a bit crispy, hope that’s okay! Cas decided to help” Dean yelled down the bunker hallway.
“Hey!” Cas glared at Dean, “It’s better crispier, Y/N told me that once”
“Sure buddy, she probably only told you that so she didn’t hurt your feelings” Dean said laughing.
Cas crossed his arms over his chest and frowned.
“Y/N! Where are you?” Dean walked down the hallway to your room, he knocked on the door loudly, “Y/N! Wake up sleepyhead!”.
Silence followed Dean’s words, he leant against the wall to the left of the door and rapped his knuckles hard against the wood again. Still nothing.
“Y/N you better be decent, cause I’m coming in!” Dean turned the door handle, pushing the door open slowly. He glanced around the room before him and then stepped in. Your bed had evidently been left untouched since you made it yesterday morning, and you were nowhere to be seen. It was Dean’s turn to frown now and he checked your bedside table to see if your purse and keys were still there. When he didn’t find any evidence that you’d even come home last night he shrugged, expecting you to be with Gabriel, or one of their friends, you didn’t drink so it wasn’t likely that you’d been out all night, so he wasn’t especially worried.
He walked back to the kitchen, finding Sam sat at the table ignoring the tray of bacon in the centre and choosing instead to drink what Dean affectionately referred to as a ‘rabbit food smoothie’, he nodded to his brother as Dean walked back into the room.
“Where’s Y/N?” He said, looking back down to the newspaper he’d been combing for a new case.
“Not been home, I’m willing to bet she’s with Gabriel.”
“Oh yeah, how much are you willing to wager?” Sam smirked.
“$20”
“Deal”
“Okay Cas, you want in?” Dean turned to the angel.
“Dean, I have no use for money, why would I partake in an effort to win any?”
“For fun, I don’t know, do Angels do ‘Fun’?” He teased and Cas looked up at him quizzically, “Don’t answer that, it’s too early in the morning for that conversation.”
Dean grabbed some ketchup and sat at the table across from Sam and pulled the tray of bacon towards him, squirting the ketchup straight onto the tray. Sam rolled his eyes and sighed, and Dean indignantly said “Y/N’s not gonna have any, Mr Molecules over there doesn’t eat, and you’ve got your blended rabbit food, what’s the point using a plate?”
“I didn’t actually say anything,” Sam replied, dryly.
“No, but you were thinking, same thing.”
“Okay, Dean,” Sam rolled his eyes again, which his brother missed as he stood up to grab the pot of coffee he’d been brewing, sitting back down he sighed contentedly and dug into his food.
A loud banging on the front door was the only noise to disturb the peace and quiet.
“I’ll get it” Sam said, picking up his smoothie and taking it with him. Sam walked towards the front of the bunker as the knocking got louder and more frantic.
He opened the door slowly and was surprised to see a rather dishevelled Gabriel standing in the doorway.
“Sam” the angel said.
“Gabriel, uh, come in I guess.” Sam stood to the side to let the man walk past him and then shut and relocked the door behind him.
“No time for pleasantries, have you seen Y/N?”
“No, actually, Dean thought she was with you, why?”
“Haven’t seen her in a couple of days actually, and we were meant to meet up yesterday.”
“Maybe she forgot?”
“Why thank you Sam, I hadn’t possibly considered that scenario, and I felt like walking here from half a mile away just for you to tell me the obvious” Gabriel rolled his eyes.
“Sorry, I, uh, don’t have any other suggestions, let me get Dean to help call around.”
“Thank you.”
The two walked back to the kitchen and Dean mumbled “Who is it?” with a mouthful of food.
“Hello Deano” Gabriel greeted the older Winchester brother.
Dean turned to the doorway, swallowing the mouthful he’d finished chewing. “Sammy who gets the 20 bucks?”
“Not you”
“Son of a bitch!”
“So where is Y/N?” Cas tilted his head into the question and looked to Gabriel for an answer.
“Was hoping she was here.”
“Oh”
“Dean, I said we’d call around and ask if Y/N is with any of our friends, I’ll call Charlie and Garth, can you call Jody and Donna?” Sam pulled out his phone and began dialling as he spoke.
“On it”
A few tense minutes passed as the brothers tried to locate their sister, and when they ended each call with no luck, the atmosphere was thick enough to be cut with a knife.
“Gabriel, you’ve heard nothing for how long?” Dean looked up at the angel.
“Nothing since this time yesterday, Y/N sent me a text telling me she’d see me later on, if you didn’t carve that damned Enochian into her bones I could’ve found her by now!” Gabriel’s final words an accusation directed at Castiel.
“Providing she’s not also being hidden by extra sigils, no need to play the blame game here Gabriel” Dean replied, keen to prevent an argument and focus on finding his little sister.
“Dean, I’m going to call Rowena, hopefully she can help.” Sam said, once again dialling as he spoke.
“Hello Samuel, how can I help you?” came the redheads Scottish drawl through the phone.
“Rowena, hi, we need your help, Y/N is missing, do you know of any way we can locate her?”
“Of course dear, let me just find the spell, are you able to obtain ingredients?”
“Yes, we’re in the bunker, I’ll be able to use the Men of Letters stock.”
“Good, okay, I’ve got the spell here, are you ready?”
“Hold on, I’ll write it down.”
With that Sam left the kitchen, Gabriel and Castiel in tow, heading to the library. Dean looked down at his half finished breakfast and decided it would take Sam a while to locate the ingredients, so he probably had time to finish eating. He scarfed the last of the bacon and then downed the rest of his coffee before heading up to the library himself. By the time he got there, Sam and Gabriel had begun to lay out the ingredients as Rowena explained the steps for they needed to take. Once they’d finished the setup, she told Sam the Latin he would have to repeat in order to complete the spell, and Sam scribbled it down in a notebook. He looked up at Dean who nodded and he started the spell. As he finished repeating the lines Rowena had given him the piece of paper in the centre of the pentagram burned a bright red and Dean looked away as the light threatened to blind him. When he looked back the paper had returned to it’s original state bar two lines of numbers that glistened in the light from the lamps. He stepped closer but Gabriel grabbed the piece of paper first.
“Co-ordinates?” He looked up at Sam for confirmation.
“Looks like, okay, thanks Rowena, I’ll let you know what happens.”
“Not a problem Samuel, I hope you find Y/N safe. Bye for now.” The call disconnected.
Sam and Dean grabbed their gear whilst Castiel and Gabriel stood waiting, Dean checked his guns and Sam grabbed the salt and lighter amongst other weapons and items of protection.
“Ready?” Gabriel questioned, “I’m assuming you want me to get as close to these co-ordinates as possible without being in the building, don’t know what kind of surprises might be in there.”
“I guess so,” Dean said, sighing, “I’m not happy with this method of transportation though, last time he zapped me someplace I didn’t poop for a week.” He pointed at Castiel who’s brow furrowed and he tilted his head to one side.
“That was more information than I wanted, let’s go”, Gabriel clicked his fingers and the four of them were outside a disused factory building.
Dean shuddered, gripping his gun tighter.
“Hold on,” Gabriel held his hand up and his eyes glowed brilliant blue as he searched the building for sigils. Only once he was satisfied they weren’t walking into a trap he motioned for Castiel and Dean to take the left side of the building whilst he and Sam took the right.
The four split off towards their designated search areas and Castiel and Gabriel both drew their Angel Blades. As they crept around the outskirts of the building a yell of pain came from somewhere deep within. Gabriel’s footsteps quickened as he recognised the voice. He and Sam found the nearest entrance and Sam gripped the door handle as Gabriel counted down with one hand. When he hit 0 Sam opened the door, the two slid through the open entryway and they were met with a corridor, off of which 5 more doors stood. Gabriel used his free hand to point to Sam and the rightmost door and then walked to the leftmost himself. They cleared each room with ease, meeting in the middle at the fifth door. Sam nodded as Gabriel reached towards the handle. As he did so another shout indicated that they were in fact at the correct door and Gabriel flung it open, holding his blade ready.
As he took in the scene before him his eyes met yours. You relaxed slightly against the chair you were sat upon and sighed with relief. Blood dripped down your face from your probably broken nose and you bit back a wince as you took in a deep breath.
Gabriel took a step towards you as Sam raised his gun to point it at the single assailant.
“How’s my favourite little human doing?”
“Been better to be honest, I’m a little tied up right now,” You replied, sarcasm dripping from your words. You looked down and made a point to indicate the ropes that bound you to the chair and tied your hands and feet.
He laughed, the sound music to your ears.
“Don’t come any closer!” Your assailant grabbed your head pulling you backwards in the chair and pinning a knife to your throat. You coughed in discomfort, and your eyes widened as you realised the danger wasn’t over yet. You assessed the situation you found yourself in, realising the way your head was positioned wasn’t to your attackers advantage at all. If you ducked to one side you’d be free of the blade and Gabriel realised this too, he caught your eye and mouthed ‘Sleeping Lions’, then he opened his fingers against his weapon, counting down 3, 2, 1, you threw yourself sideways and as soon as his final finger hit the handle you were folded practically in half against your own legs. A startled yelp came from your captor and you turned to see the Angel Blade sticking out of the demon’s chest as his soul stuttered out of existence and an orange glow emitted from every orifice. The now empty vessel fell backwards to the floor and you sat up straight again.
“Nice shot” Sam noted, Gabriel had thrown the blade across 15 feet and hit the demon square in the chest.
“Of course” Gabriel smirked.
“Look, save your ego boost for later and get these dang restraints off me please” You grumbled.
Gabriel laughed again and the pair of your saviours crossed the room towards you. Sam worked on the rope at your feet as Gabriel untied your hands and then your body. You slumped forwards slightly as he released the rope and he caught you, exhaustion setting in as the adrenalin wore off. He turned around to Sam, who grabbed your hand and squeezed it before he left the room in search of his other sibling and their best friend. Gabriel knelt on the floor in front of you and pulled you into a hug.
“Don’t scare me like that again Winchester”
“Can’t make any promises, sorry, I’m just too kidnappable” you mumbled against his chest.
He laughed again, leaning you back against the chair, gently sitting you upright. He put his hand against your face, cupping your cheek tenderly and you looked up at him as his eyes glowed Arctic blue. You felt the warmth of his grace healing you and you relaxed into his touch. When he was done he pulled you back into another hug. Kissing the top of your head as he held you. You wrapped your arms around him and revelled in the safety he brought with him.
“Y/N!” Dean exclaimed and you let go of your angel. You stood up from the chair, feeling as if you could run a few marathons and ran to your brother, who wrapped his arms around you crushing you in his embrace. When he let go it was Sam’s turn, although he was more gentle than Dean. Then you turned to Castiel who looked at you curiously until you pulled him into a hug too. He patted your arm awkwardly before you retreated to Gabriel’s side.
“Let’s get you home”, Gabriel smiled at you, clicking his fingers and you were half a mile up the road from the bunker. “You know this is as close as I can get before I have to walk!” He exclaimed as you looked at him incredulously.
“You’re lucky you’re cute”, you say, starting to walk towards your home.
“You’re lucky she thinks you’re cute”, Dean grumbled and followed after you.
Gabriel hurried forwards and reached into his pocket, handing you one of your favourite candies. You look around at him, smiling and take his hand in yours after you’ve removed the candy from his grasp. You hum contentedly as you continue walking home.

There was a pounding on the front door and you went to answer it, already tense. It was exactly who you expected it to be when you pulled it open.
“Uhhhh why is the house warded?”
You crossed your arms and gave hime a steely stare. “Probably to keep out angels.” “Anyone I know?” he retorted, his lips curving in that wide boyish smile. It faded quickly when there was no sign of amusement on your face. He ran a hand back through his hair and straightened up, relinquishing his hold on the doorframe. “You’re angry,” he observed.
You scoffed. “Where were you? I waited for four fucking hours, Gabe, and you didn’t show up. I was sitting there waiting, and I felt like an idiot! How am I supposed to explain you not showing up to my parents?”
“I—there was a candy store and you know how rabid my sweet tooth is,” he joked, cocking another smile he hoped would disarm you. That wasn’t what happened though.
You swore under your breath and grabbed the door, getting ready to slam it in his face. “You can be such a prick sometimes!” There was a glassiness in your eyes now and he crumbled, his carefree façade falling away. “Whoa, whoa—Wait! WAIT! I’m sorry! I’m really sorry...” It was the softness in his voice that stopped you, but you gave him a hesitant stare. “I just—you know I have... issues with—”
“Gabriel, this was important to me. Regardless of your family issues, I expected you to be there for me with mine. And you weren’t. I honestly don’t know where this leaves us... If I can’t count on you to be there for me when it counts, what are we doing?” Gabriel was staring at you, devastation cresting over his face. His voice was sincere and vulnerable this time. “I know that I screwed up. I know. I’m so sorry. I wish I could go back and kick my own ass and change it but just—just tell me how to make it up to you and I will. I promise it won’t happen again, just tell me what to do—”
You stared at the dewiness in his eyes and the genuine remorse written all over his face. “Figure out how to solve this one on your own. I’m not gonna tell you what to do.”
He straightened up, slightly renewed. “Okay. I can do that. I will. I’m—Y/N, I’m so, so sorry. You have to know that.”
You nodded, feeling yourself wavering as his golden eyes met yours. “I know. Just—do better. And I need some time.” Closing the door again was one of the hardest things you’d ever done. Prompt: “You can be such a prick sometimes!” Happy Supporting Character Saturday Sunday!

Gabriel was an angel. There was no denying that fact.
Not in the metaphorical sense, or the hypothetical sense, or any other sort of sense. He was an honest to god, grace wielding, smirk wearing, heaven sent angel. You didn't have to peek his true form to know any of that. If anything, you'd seen the ghostly shadow of his wings enough times for you to eye him with trepidation, only for the moment to be broken with a snarky quip and a wink afterwards.
It wasn't any of those things that made Gabriel angelic in your eyes, though. In fact, the novelty of angels for you had worn off years ago. Ever since Castiel had shown up in that barn, wearing the tannest of tan of trench coats and directing that righteous gaze of his at Dean, you'd found that your capacity for anything biblical had reached its peak. Anything beyond that had been labeled For Later and shoved deep down in a box with everything else disturbing in your life. To say that the box had been full for a while would be an understatement.
When Gabriel had first been outed as Mr. Archangel himself, you'd shrugged. It made enough sense, you'd thought at the time, looking at him from outside the ring of holy fire you and the brothers had set up in that warehouse. He'd made the three of you run around in TV shows all day, and even if he did appear to have penchant for sweets, upon a closer look he defiantly wasn't just a trickster. If Cas could be an angel, all squinted frowns and tilted heads, then why couldn't Gabriel? Not that he really had a reason to lie that day.
It took you a while to forget about golden hair and pink lips. Even more to forget the stench of burned feathers as the owner of them lay dead on a red carpet floor, slain by the hands of his own brother. The years had come and gone since your less than wonderful trip to that hotel, a number of both new and old companions along with them. Some deaths hit harder than the others, and you had more then enough battle scars to prove it. You were still reeling over the death of Crowley when Ketch had showed up in the bunker, Gabriel trailing along after him, all vacant stares and a downturned
Shame was the first emotion you'd seen from him in years. It was almost appropriate that fear came next.
He'd screamed through bloody stitches for the entire first week. And once Sam had calmed him down enough to get them off, he just refused to speak at all, avoiding everyone gaze as he shut himself in the farthest room down the hall. Under any other circumstance you would have asked why it had to be your room in particular he'd taken refuge in, but the longer your door remained locked and bolted, the more your complaints wilted.
Maybe it was time that helped him to heal, or the knowledge that while he was in the bunker he had three of the deadliest hunters watching his back. A small part of you was selfish enough to think that maybe the sandwiches you'd leave outside his door, just to come back and find missing, was a part of it.
It was only when you'd woken up one day to the smell of waffles coming from the kitchen that you knew Gabriel was back, and this time for the better.
The weeks that followed his return were some of the better one's you'd experienced in nearly half a decade. In between stopping Lucifer twice, as well as the rest of his fucked up family tree, you'd quit taking time for yourself. Little tasks and achievements that seemed insignificant in the face of everything else were suddenly brought back into the limelight per request of Gabriel. Movie marathon nights with buckets of candy, and handmade baked goods were among some of the archangels favorite things to do while stuck in the bunker. At times you wondered if your presence for those things really were necessary, or if Gabriel just liked spending time with you. It wasn't until Dean pointed out that Gabriel was all but back to his normal self that you realized just how impactful your midday rendezvous with the angel had been.
Coming out of the shell Asmodeus had placed him in was hard for him to do, and even harder for you all to watch. He refused to share anything about his time in captivity unless it was of the utmost importance in stopping Lucifer; not that any of you were pushing him to share. If there was anyone out there that could understand the lasting effects that fire and brimstone could leave on someone, it was you three.
You hadn't been foolish enough to think for a moment that he wasn't still broken, even after he shuffled out of your room all those weeks ago. Gabriel still had his moments, and plenty of them. Moments where he wouldn't speak to anyone, or where his playful energy would dissipate at the first signs of anything demonic. He would often pause in his speaking, like a car radio that had lost it's signal, a set of endless whiskey eyes replaying the worst of the worst for an audience of one while you did your best to pull him out of it.
And while you had seen him get lost in himself enough times to practically write a book on trauma victims, Dean was right. He had been getting better. He'd let himself laugh at jokes more often— your jokes —with that boisterous yelp of his. It was always rushed at first, as if he was going to explode if he didn't get the sound out fast enough, before tampering off into a slow round of chuckles that never failed to bring the corners of your lips up into a smile of their own.
Once you discovered how much you loved his laughter, you started noticing all the other little things about him that filled you with warmth. It was only once you realized that you had begun to seek his company out in the dead of night, your own nightmares from hunts passed plaguing you, that you knew, truly, just how deep in you were.
He cornered you one day while you were putting groceries away, a frantic mess of jumbled nerves and unsure fingers twisting around each other. He said that he'd never had to do this before. That he'd never had trouble getting a read on someone else, on their feelings, like he did with you. His worries could always be solved with a snap of his fingers and a flirty wiggle of his eyebrows; or at least they used to be able to. But you weren't just someone else to him anymore. You hadn't been for a long time, and this time, Gabriel wanted to do things properly.
Sam and Dean would be pissed the next morning when they realized that you'd left the beer sitting out all night. But when you were crossing the kitchen in long strides to reach your angel, hands reaching out to tangle themself in Gabriel's hair for purchase, kissing him like the world really was about to end— you couldn't find it in yourself to care.

__________________________________________________________
I awoke to find myself out in a field and the sound of mooing next to me.  I turned with a groan to see a few cows staring at me as they continued their grazing, their deep brown eyes staring deep into my very soul.  Slowly I got up feeling nothing but aches and pains in my body which I found strange.
Normally my body heals on its own pretty fast being an angel and all that but now my powers weren’t working.  Wait, how did I even get down to earth in the first place? Dean didn’t pray for me and Cas wasn’t in trouble nor was big brother Gabriel causing any trouble.
After composing myself I walked out of the field and followed the road to the nearest town where I managed to find a convenient store.  I walked in and saw on the tv above about a meteor shower the like of which these humans had never seen before.  It was then I remembered what had happened.
I—I had fallen.  And not just me but—every angel in heaven had been cast out and fallen to earth.  I tried to tap into the angel radio but I came up with nothing, not even static.  No, no, no, no this couldn’t be happening.
“Miss? Miss? Are you alright?” I turned to see a young man in his young teen years and I asked him.
“Where am I?”
“Miles City, Montana.” He answered.  “Do you uhh—need me to call someone?”
“No, no I….thank you. Forget I was here.” I then walked out of the store and felt a sudden overwhelming feeling after realizing that I had now become a fallen angel, I wasn’t in Kansas, I can’t communicate with any of my brothers and sisters, and I had no access to my powers.  “Why didn’t I accept that cellphone that Dean offered me? I just had to follow the rules. No human technology in heaven. I could’ve played off like big brother Cas but nooo.”
Okay (Y/n) just calm down and think about this.  You’ve got a location, now all you need to do is find a way to get in contact with either Dean, Sam or Cas.  Surely someone will let me use their phone for just a moment or two to make a call.  I saw a group of skater teens gathered by another convenient store and I walked up to them and asked.
“Excuse me, could I use one of your cellphones to call someone?”
“Why can’t you just use your own lady?” asked a rude boy with face acne.
“I—seemed to have misplaced it. Please it’d just be for a minute or two.”
“Sorry lady. We don’t even carry our own phones. Parents tracking us and all that shit. That’s why we just have our go-pros.” Said another boy with long brown hair.
“Your parents only worry for your safety.”
“Jesus Christ another Karen comin to tell us to what to do. Let’s get out of here.” The teens then got on their skateboards and bikes and soon left me in the dust (quite literally as they purposefully kicked up the rocks and debris nearby).
“I swear children today have no respect for anyone. And why do they keep using that term Karen?”
“The rise of social media and technology raising them and careless parents not fit to discipline them.” I jumped at the voice and saw a woman with curly blonde hair.  She appeared to be around her early to mid-40’s but she still held someone of a youthful glow about her.  Her hypnotic green eyes glared out towards the teenagers that had just left me in the dust.
“They do seem to think they’re above authority nowadays don’t they?” I vocalized my thoughts.
“Sorry I didn’t mean to intrude or anything but I had heard you were in a bit of a bind and just thought I’d offer my help.” She said turning toward me.
“I’d greatly appreciate it, thank you Miss…..”
“Agatha. Agatha Dubois.” She extended her hand out and I greatly took it as we shook hands.
“Thank you Miss DuBois, really I do appreciate it. You would not believe that I’ve been through today.”
“From what I heard about those meteor showers, I’d say it was quite an event. Some people have lost their homes due to collateral damage from the explosions that had been happening.” Oh my….I hope I didn’t cause anyone any harm when I had landed.  “If you don’t mind helping me load up some stuff into my truck, I’d be more than willing to allow you to use my telephone. Maybe even get you a nice home-cooked meal. Lord knows you look like you need it.”
Being an angel I’ve never really had the taste for food.  But now with my grace potentially gone and now feeling 100% human, I could feel the extreme hunger that was now knowing at the edges of my stomach.
“Are you sure about all that? All I’d really need is just to use a phone.”
“Ahhh don’t worry about it. Besides, my mama always taught me to help out a stranger in need.”
“Well, thank you Ms. DuBois.”
“Oh you can call me Agatha. Now c’mon, these gas tanks can get pretty heavy and you’d be a life savior if I didn’t have to make more than two trips.” I walked over towards her truck and helped her load up the gas tanks that I’ve seen be used to grills for barbecuing.  Once we were done, I got up in the passenger seat and she drove us towards her cabin out in the woods.
We unloaded her truck and after storing away the last gas tank in her shed, I wiped my forehead of the sweat that now clamped onto my brow.  Whew, who would’ve thought this is what humans feel like after every work day?
“I greatly appreciate you helping me out (Y/n).” Agatha thanked me.
“I’m glad I could help out. Now may I ask where you’re phones at?”
“Come with me to the kitchen and it’ll be right by the sink. Sometimes cell reception gets a little funky so I keep a landline just in case.” She escorted me towards her house and it was like any other home I had seen.
Decent cabin with various trinkets, knick-knacks, furniture and pictures.  Some by herself and others with what appeared to be either friends or family.  We got into the kitchen and she pointed the phone out to me.  And boy I hadn’t seen phones like that since the 1970’s.  I walked over to it, picked it up and began dialing Dean’s number but just as I started to press the last two numbers, I felt something hit the back of my neck and I was knocked out like a light.
*Dean’s POV*
Now we’ve had crazy things happen to us before, hell we started the freakin apocalypse for crying out loud. But this shit…..this was way beyond anything we’ve come across.  To be told that the trials for sealing off Hell for good was nothing but a rouse, a filthy lie.  And now hundreds maybe thousands of angels, including my girl are scattered throughout the world.
“Anything coming up yet?” I asked Sam who was on his laptop typing away.
“Nothing other than the news talking about the supposed ‘Great meteor shower of 2013’.”
“How bout Cas, heard anything from him?”
“No.” I let out a growl as I paced through the motel room.
“I told that girl to keep the damn phone, why doesn’t she ever listen to me?”
“You can’t blame (Y/n) for this.”
“I’m not! She’s not the one who casted the angels out of heaven. And don’t go thinking I’m blaming you either, we both believed that those trials would be for the demons of Hell. If I ever see Metatron again…..”
“You won’t be able to do anything Dean.” We both jumped at the sudden voice of Cas appearing behind us.
“The hell have you been?! We’ve been calling and praying to you and you just ghost us!”
“In case you hadn’t noticed Dean, I’ve been a bit busy as of late.” Cas sneered sarcastically.
“Cas, what exactly is going on out there?” Sam asked him.
“The angel radio has been blaring nonstop of angels in a state of panic. However it’s about half the normal voices I usually hear. I fear that most of the angels that had fallen had also lost their grace. Including (Y/n).” oh fuck no! If she’s lost her grace then…..she’s practically useless out there.
Unlike most angels, she’s more of a diplomat than a soldier, hardly ever really fought unless her life depended on it.  She’s confessed that the only real wars she’s participated in was the 100 years War with Joan of Arc and some battle during the Civil war.  But she’s had her powers to use to take down any demon or monster that came at her, without it she’ll—NO!!
“Do you know where she might be?” I asked.
“I’ve tried everything in whatever power I have left since my own casting out and I’ve come up with….how you guys say, squat.” My breathing sharpened, “However, there might be someone we could see in order to find her.”
“What do you mean Cas?” I asked.
“In her secret visits down here to Earth back during the Civil war, I’m told she once connected with someone who was able to see and know all of the past and the future.”
“What you’re saying she met with a fortune teller?” asked Sam.
“No, not people who claim to know your fortunes I literally mean a deity that can see the past and the future. An oracle.” Said Cas.
“You—you serious? Like an actual oracle?”
“We’ve come across dragons before Dean, oracles don’t seem so farfetched.” Said Sam with a shrug.
“Alright well, how do we get in touch with this oracle?”
“If I recall, their last known location was deep in bayou of New Orleans.”
“Then Louisiana it is. We’re wasting time let’s go!” I ordered as the two of them followed me outside to the car and I floored it till we got to Louisiana.
We reached the city within a day and a half and managed to book a ferry ride down the bayou to where Cas would guide us.  He said the oracle lived on a small island on the bayou known as Moonscar isle.  I leaned up against the railings of the ferry staring out into the murky waters and creepy swamps.  Normally I’d be saying we’re living out an actual Scooby doo location but all my mind was thinking about was (Y/n).
“Dean.” Cas voice called out to me.  I felt his hand on my shoulder, “We’ll find her. She might not be the strongest fighter of my sisters but she is clever. If she does run into trouble, she’ll find a way out of it.”
“You better be right Cas. Cause I don’t know what I’ll do if we find her too late.” We soon reached the dock of Moonscar isle and I drove us through the bumpy roads.  I know you ain’t used to these roads Baby but I promise you, we’ll be back on the smooth road soon.
“Okay Cas did (Y/n) say anything specific on how to find this oracle’s location?” Sam questioned.
“It should be the only thing living on this island. No one has lived here since the days of the Civil War.”
“Seems easy enough.” I floored Baby a bit faster until we hit a hump which caused all of us to hit our heads on the roof.
“Dean I know you want to save (Y/n) but maybe try to go easy on the gas. At least until we hit smoother terrain.” Suggested Sam.  As we drove through the thick mist, we soon caught sight of what appeared to be torches lighting the way.  We followed the light until we came upon a small cabin.
I turned the engine off and the three of us got out of Baby and closed the doors.
“Typical, witchy and spooky. Remind me to question her friends when we find her.” I told them both before trudging through the wet mud and marshes towards the cabin.  I climbed up the ladder which lead to the cabin above and I opened the door only to be greeted by a hissing snake.  “JESUS…..”
“No Jesus Christ be ‘ere. Only the one who speaks between the realms of gods and mortals.” A female Cajun voice spoke up.  The snake retreated backward but kept its unblinking eyes on me as hand reached out and stroked it’s head.
Soon a woman in an old, and when I say old I meant like past century or two old, dress.  Long and elegant yet battered and weathered by time.  Her hair was styled in dreads and styled much like Eddie Van Halen’s hair.  But what had me unsettled was the snake-like eyes that she had.  Give me black, red, yellow, or even white eyes but not snake eyes.
“Calypso.” Cas greeted.
“Castiel.” Her wicked and rotten smile greeted.  Seriously I’ve seen vampires with better dental hygiene than this woman.  “And de Winchester brothers. Calypso ‘erd many tings about you two. Destiny and fate twists around you both like puppets on a string.” Calypso said as the snake that scared me now began wrapping itself around her neck.
“Yeah we uhh—get that a lot. Listen we’ve come to…..”
“I know what it is that you come for cher.” Calypso interrupted my brother.  “Enter but be weary of your step.” Oh yeah sure that’s comforting.  We entered inside the cabin and saw that the entire place was filled with jars, voodoo stuff, jars with the most randomness, weird, freaky and creepy stuff I had only seen be put in movies.  Snakes, bats, and rats also made their home in this cabin.  “Sit down.”
We were lead to a table that held scrolls, maps and books that would make even Bobby’s library seem like the kid’s section at the library.
“You ‘ave come to seek ma Cherie (Y/n).”
“Yeah, do you know where she is?”
“To answer such a question must be bound. For her heart may soon be in de ground. I soon felt my chin being tilted upward as I was now forced to look up at her.  “You above the two share that bond with ma cher.” I forced my way out of her strong grip.
“I may have failed Spanish but I know what that endearment means so don’t be trying to call her any of that when she’s already spoken for.”
“Angels ave lived many lives. To stick to one partner is never just enough.” She said with me with a seductive smirk.  Okay so did she mean that she and (Y/n) once…..okay not that I don’t think it’s hot but c’mon Dean now’s really not the time to be thinking about things like that right now.
“Calypso. We’re worried about her, Cas has said she’s lost touch with angel radio. And if that’s true then that means she’s lost her grace when she fell from Heaven.”
“When de angels fell from the sky, Hell itself shook. More demons seep out now to destroy their lifelong foes. The balance between them has now shifted to Hell’s favor, and if not set straight, all will be lost.” Calypso said as she walked over towards one of her bookshelves and allowed the snake to slither down her arm and track down a rat.
As she spoke, just seeing the snake hunt down the rat and catch it before wrapping itself around it and squeezing it to death made me feel uncomfortable.
“Calypso, you and (Y/n) were close with one another. If you still care for her at all, will you help us find her?” the oracle remained silent before she said.
“I ave wha you seek, but I demand special payment before I can give this precious gift away.”
“What is it that you want?” I demanded.  A slow, wicked smirk came across her face.
*My POV*
I woke up feeling groggy and with a massive headache but I also felt my hands and feet were strapped down.  I struggled to get up but I heard Agatha’s voice.
“There’s no point in struggling.” I turned my head to see her cleaning up an angel blade.  “That there is angel blades mixed with the strongest iron melted and forged into handcuffs.”
“You know what I am?” I asked her.
“Trust me sweetheart, you’re not the first angel we came across.”
“We?” I then thought back to the photo’s I saw in her cabin.  “Your family.”
“Yeah. My husband Frank, and my two boys Nathan and Jake. My husband and I had left the hunter’s life behind in order to raise our two boys. But when word got out that the apocalypse and the end of the world was happening, well…..let’s just say the Winchester’s weren’t the only ones on the demons radar. Soon the angels started coming after us, all because we refused to be their pawns.”
“I take it that the angel that came to you was called Zachariah?”
“Yeah.” She sneered.
“Figures. I hated that douchebag so much. Out of all my brothers, I hated him more than Lucifer and Michael combined.”
“Just because you claim that, doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on you.” She said as she stood over me and placed the angel blade right to my neck.
“Listen Agatha, even if you do kill me it won’t change anything.”
“I’m not gonna kill you. At least not yet. First you’re gonna tell me where I can find that rat bastard, and then once I’m through with him then I’ll kill you. And finally be rid of you angels.”
“I don’t think the angels will be the least of your concern these days. If any hunter out there knows all lore, then they’d know that what they witnessed wasn’t a meteor shower.”
“They were fallen angels yeah, yeah I read up more on the lore once we kept running into Zachariah and after he had killed my boys. That’s why I’ve been hunting down you angels that came here. And you dearie, make number three.”
“Who were the other two?”
“Didn’t care to ask them. But they proved useless to me in the end. But oh do I remember seeing your name in some of the lore books. The Angel of Mercy. So any angel that’s out there, you would know where they are.”
“That was before I had fallen. Now I’m as mortal as you are. I’m of no use to you Agatha. And even if you were to kill me, no angel is going to tell you where to find Zachariah.”
“Then I guess I’ll keep killing your kind until someone screams.” Gunshots suddenly fired just a few feet away from her and I heard Dean’s voice roar out.
“THE HELL YOU WILL!” we looked up to see Dean with his revolver pointed right at Agatha.
“The infamous Dean Winchester.” Agatha mocked in praise.  “Should I be honored by your presence?”
“Cut the small talk you psychotic bitch, I ain’t here to make friends.”
“From one hunter to another, I thought the job was to kill any monster that got in our way? That includes these so called ‘angels’.”
“Look, I’ll admit that most of them were douchebags with wings but the one you’ve got right there. She’s about as harmless as a kitten. So I’m only gonna say this one last time, let her go or I pump you full of lead.” It was then I saw Castiel and Sam sneaking in from the back, when I caught my brother’s eye, he pressed his finger to his lips as I withdrew his own angel blade while Sam took out his own pistol.
“Not until I get what I want. And I’ll kill anyone who gets in my way.” It was then Sam came up and grabbed Agatha in a headlock with the gun placed at her back.
“First rule you should’ve remembered. Never bring a knife to a gun fight.” Sam sneered in her ear.  Castiel then came up and freed me of my bonds and cupped my face checking me for injuries.
“Are you hurt?”
“Besides the ache in my head and the aftermath of falling from heaven, I’m fine.” I brushed his hands away from my face and stood up and walked over to Dean.  I placed my hand over his gun and gave him the look to lower his gun.  He stared at me wide eyed in anger but I gave him a harsh look which got him to obey my order.  “You misunderstood me what I had said earlier.”
“What do you mean?” Agatha snarled as she tried to struggle but Sam kept a firm hold of her.
“When I told you that no angel was going to tell you where Zachariah was. It’s because he’s no longer with us. This man here,” I gestured to Dean. “My boyfriend, he’s the one who killed Zachariah and ended his endless lies and deceit. So your vengeance is wasted.”
The harsh look in Agatha’s eyes slowly began to soften as her struggling ceased.
“He’s…..”
“Yes. He’s dead. And no one is bringing him back, but nor would killing him bring your family back. Ask yourself this Agatha, if your husband and boys could see you now, would they want this from you? To be so consumed by hatred and vengeance that you’d lose yourself to it?”
“So you’re telling me all of this was an Inigo Montoya scenario?” Dean asked incredulously.
“Not now babe.” I hushed him.  “You’ve been consumed by your hate for long enough Agatha, it’s time to let it go.” I then gave Sam a nod and he released Agatha who just fell to her knees.
“Three years felt like an eternity. Everytime I close my eyes I can still see how he did it. He snapped my youngest boys bones like twigs, I can still see his limbs all twisted and contorted. My eldest boy, he stabbed him right through the back. I still can’t get the blood off my face from it spurting out. And Fr—Frank he……” Agatha wept into her hands.
The guys’ anger soon turned to sympathy as they stared at their potential enemy they were so adamant on killing now break down in tears.  I walked over to Agatha and knelt down beside her.  I placed my hand to her head and she looked up at me, tears slipping down past her lashes.
“Know that didn’t blame you. And they’ll always be watching over you until you are all together again.” Agatha crumbled once more as she wept into the floor and I chose to walk out with the guys following behind me.
There was a moment of silence as we walked away from Agatha’s property until Sam spoke up.
“I still sometimes can’t get over how you can still find the mercy and compassion in situations (Y/n).”
“That is who my sister is Sam. As the Angel of Mercy, she knows when force is needed, or when someone needs a compassionate hand. Agatha Morrison was just a grieving wife and mother, not a monster.” Cas explained.
“Doesn’t mean I’ll forgive her for what she did to you.” Dean said to me.
“That is up to you. But if you choose to continuously live with hate in your heart Dean, that’s all your life will ever be. You already carry such a weight of regret on you already Dean. Don’t add hatred to the mix.” I said stopping him as I placed my hand over his heart.  He looked me in the eye and said.
“How is it that you always have to get the last word in whenever we argue?”
“Cause you know I’m always right. Even when I’m wrong, I’m right.”
“But now will this show you to at least carry a phone with you? Not every human is like Agatha. Be thankful she was mourning as you said she was. Next person could’ve been a John Wayne Gacey or Ted Bundy copy-cat.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“No, no thinking about it. I’ll give you one of my old burner phones. You don’t have to upgrade to a smartphone.”
“Fine, I’ll take one of the burners.”
“Thank you.” Dean then brought me into his arms and kissed the top of my head.  “I was so worried about you. And you’re sure you don’t got a concussion or something?”
“I’m fine Dean, really. But question though, how did you guys find me so quickly?”
“We called in a favor from your old…..uhh—lover.” Dean groaned out the last part.
“My old lover? Dean what are you talking about?”
“The Oracle, Calypso.” Sam said.  I bit back my laughter but it soon escaped me as Dean demanded.
“What’s so funny?”
“Oh you guys are a riot! Hahahaha! Calypso and me lovers! Hahaha!”
“Again not to say there’s anything wrong, especially now with people more accepting….”
“Sam, Calypso is just a friend. Nothing more. Being the child of Eros they’re a natural minx and will flirt with just about anyone, including me. But they never take it further than that cause they know I’m straight.”
“So you—you guys weren’t ever…..”
“Dean Winchester were you jealous?” I teased with a raised brow.
“What? No! No! No I’m completely comfortable with my masculinity and won’t be like those insecure bastards that feel the need to be possessive over their girls.”
“Tink again Winchester!” a portal soon opened up to Calypso’s cabin and there stood the old minx themself holding Juju, their albino python around their neck.  “You really got dis one wound up cher! Him really thought he was de only partner you ever had.” They laughed as they stroked Juju’s head with their index and tall fingers.
“Cally you are a card.” I shook my head as I entered through the portal and stood beside them.
“You know I can never resist a good joke mon cher.” I walked through the portal followed by Sam, Cas and Dean who was still flabbergasted.
After finding a motel in New Orleans, Dean lay down on the bed while I brushed through my hair.
“So you had us be sent out while you and Calypso talked. What did she—I mean they want? I mean the way they had it made, it sounded like they wanted something else like…..you know.”
“As I told you, being the child of a God of Love and lust, they can’t help but be attracted to anyone they see. But Calypso and I have no romantic feelings for one another. They merely demanded a poker game rematch.”
“Seriously? A poker game?”
“Yep. Our last poker game I had beaten her 10 games out of 12 and got 20lbs of their weight in gold they had collected. I’m gonna play against them in three days’ time to see if they’ve improved their skill to win back the gold.”
“And that’s all they want?”
“Yes Dean, now will you let this whole thing go?” I walked over to him and lay down beside him cupping the side of his face.  “The only one meant for me is you.”
“Your damn right I am.”
“Whatever happened to ‘not being the possessive boyfriend’ and ‘completely secure about my masculinity’?”
“I swear if you ever tell Sam this, I’ll deny every word of it.”
“Don’t worry, you don’t have to say it. And like I just told you, you don’t have to worry about anything.” I leaned in and gave him a soft kiss which he soon deepened before we proceeded to make love all night long after that.

I Can Still Sense Him
Based on this request: Hey, if requests are still open I was going to ask for a Supernatural request where the reader (fem) is Gabriel’s human mate. When he dies shes devastated and everyone says she’s delusional because she can still…sense him. But then he really is alive and decides he can’t take hiding anymore and just comes back out into the open To be with her
Here you are, lovely! As always, I do not own ANY SPN characters. They belong to the writers/creators of the show.
Warnings: Destined mates, angst(mentions of death), fluff, and it's a little short.
Pairings: Gabriel x fem!reader, The Winchesters.
Tumblr media
Most people would hate someone that caused the "death" of a person they cared for multiple times. But when you officially met Gabriel, you didn't see the same Trickster that the Winchesters saw. You saw someone broken and lonely. Someone a lot like you. You also immediately saw that he was not a typical Trickster. You'd seen his wings. A sign of an angel's destined mate.
So of course, you'd pleaded with the Winchesters to let him go. They had trusted your judgment and did as you asked. After that, Gabriel made a habit of popping in to see you every now and again. You certainly didn't mind. Even if you hadn't known you were destined mates, the connection between you two was undeniable. You spent as much time as you could with him.
He made you laugh, no matter the situation, and after a while, you could not deny that you fell in love with him. You got butterflies whenever he turned those honey-colored eyes on you. Or when he smiled at you. You wanted to be with him as often as possible. But, before you could admit to the mischievous angel that you loved him, he was gone. Taken from you.
After the Winchesters and Castiel told you about Gabriel's death, you were devastated to say the least. You completely shut down. Hardly ate or slept, refused to hunt. You became a shell of yourself for what seemed like a long time. But just when you were at your lowest, you started to feel…something. You couldn't describe it, but it almost felt like Gabriel was still with you in some way. There were times you felt so at ease, like you could feel him hugging you close or hear him whispering in your ear. It brought you peace whenever you were alone.
When the Winchesters questioned why you suddenly started acting like yourself again, you couldn't really explain it. You knew they'd jump to the different, albeit possible, conclusion that you were being haunted by something else. Or they'd think you were crazy. But the two men were very persistent and didn't trust sudden changes in the people they cared about or hunted with. So you had to try and explain.
"I-I don't know how to explain it, guys. I just…started feeling better. Like Gabriel's still with me. Like he's here and helping me." As you suspected, the two exchanged a look like they didn't believe you.
"Gabriel's gone, Y/N," Sam said softly, earning an eye roll from you. "I know that, Sam! Can't you let me have just a little sense of peace for once?! I lost the love of my life, something I thought you of all people would understand!" You didn't wait for him to reply before you got up and stomped out of the room. Was it a low blow? Yes. But you felt Sam had it coming in that moment.
For weeks after that, you didn't speak to Sam at all and talked to Dean only when you had to. He had not said anything to you about your feelings, but you knew he thought you were insane as well. Even Cas thought there was something wrong with you. Still, you held onto that feeling, that sense, that Gabriel was somehow still with you. Even if it was only in spirit. Then, it happened.
You were in Vegas (go figure) with the boys on a hunt. The hunt lead you to a hotel room. Dean wanted to go crashing into the room like an 80s TV cop, but you rolled your eyes and knocked on the door. The door opened and you swore your heart stopped.
          "Hey, Sweetcheeks. Miss me?"
"G-Gabriel?" you squeaked out as tears formed in your eyes and you lowered your weapon. He smiled at you. Turning to Dean beside you, you asked, "Am I dreaming? Am I dead?" Dean simply shook his head, unable to form words. You wasted no time in launching yourself into the archangel's arms. Gabriel let out a huff followed by a light laugh.
"I missed you too, Lollipop." You gripped onto the back of his shirt as he held you. "I knew I felt you." He laughed again. "Sorry I disappeared on you. I had to make dear Luci think I was gone. My…buddy Loki's been letting me hide out as him for a while, but I couldn't take it anymore. I needed to see you again," his whispered to you. "I'm just gonna…" Dean stated, trailing off before turning to leave you and Gabriel alone.
Gabriel lead you fully into the room and shut the door. "The guys thought I was crazy," you stated and Gabriel shook his head. "I wanted to make sure you knew I'd never leave you if I didn't have to." You gripped onto him again. Truthfully, you were terrified to let go. "It's alright," Gabriel whispered, "I'm sticking around for a while. I'm not leaving my mate alone again." And when his lips met yours for the first time in so long, you knew he was telling the truth.
(a/n: I hope you like it! Also, how do we feel about Gabriel calling the reader "Lollipop"? I thought it was a cute nickname, but if you hate it, I won't use it in future Gabriel fics.)
