Welcome!👋
Transcripts aren't always readily available for Supernatural cons and interviews, especially for the older ones.
So I've been slowly but surely, off and on, making J2 SPN transcripts and I wanted to share the ones I've finished transcribing and the sources I've found with those who might be interested.
•If anyone notices a mistake in my transcripts feel free to point it out.
•If anyone can better make out the audio in videos please share your take on it.
•If you know where to find more spn convention and interview footage available online, please share where they can be found.
•If you have old spn convention and interview video files that have been since lost from the internet, please think about re-uploading them to a free video sharing website.
•If anyone has old spn con videos uploaded to YouTube before 2017 that were previously set to unlisted until YouTube's update in 2021 force-changed them to private, please think about making them public or unlisted again.
Thank you! 🫶

Idle curiousity: Is it negotiations that determine who gets a picture featured where in convention promotions? Because in Burbank, for example, Mark Sheppard has been in much more SPN and I've met him frequently at cons. He was frequently featured in the show's promotions. Yet I see that JDM is in the banner in a more prominent spot than everyone, plus Mark is not given a picture at all. To SPN outsiders, JDM might be more widely known (based on imdb stats) but Mark also brings multi franchises.
My experience is the promotional pictures are entirely up to the convention owners/organizers based on what they think will bring them money.
Remember the Jensen & Misha banner debacle for the upcoming Chicago con in 2015? Let me remind you....
05/15/2015 - Jared breaks down and goes social media dark. Six weeks later....
06/29/2015 - Misha and Creation Entertainment registers Stands LLC .
08/16/2015 - Jensen and Misha “wins” TCA for best chemistry and tweet their first and only boat ride.
10/16/2015 - Creation Entertainment advertises the upcoming Chicago con with Jensen and Misha and the AKF tagline in their main banner. Fandom’s outrage forced them to take down the Jensen/Misha banner three days later and replaced it with a Jared/Jensen banner.
02/11/2016 - Jensen and Misha launch the YANA campaign with series of videos filmed on SPN set and lines written by SPN writers.
Conclusion: YANA was a bust and memory holed.

ive actually been thinking about it a lot since i posted that and i agree with you that general rape culture is part of the reason people don't notice that sam gets sexually assaulted
like the scenes that are cut and dry sexual assault scenes (no magic. no hell. no magic potion shit) usually portray the woman like a black widow/femme fatale type i.e meg in nightmare and we're so used to seeing those scenes that they don't even register because its the idea that women get their power from sex and being attractive ya know?
so i do think it's less that male victims are played as jokes since most of the time i think the scenes are played pretty straight (for the most part, they guy in tall tales is a big exception and there are sooooo many rape jokes but actual scenes, we usually see sam and dean as not enjoying these things and the audience are meant to root for them to get away so) and more that we're just used to the idea that this is the way women *can* intimidate men ya know?
(also feel free not to answer if you dont feel comfortable <3)
Yup, I think everything you said here is 100% true, and that there are other factors at play too that fit under the "rape culture" umbrella.
You absolutely will not believe some of the insane, hardcore rape apology shit people will say to me in defense of pretend SA in a silly TV show, even after they know I'm a survivor. Because of the demographic of spn Tumblr fandom, most of these conversation partners are liberal women or AFAB nbs. And apparently honestly unaware what they're saying is deeply offensive and horrifying. Some of them are legitimately Sam fans. And to make matters even more tragic, often they are survivors themselves.
Mostly I think we are all--all genders included--afraid. Afraid we could lose control of our bodies, our relationships, our home inside the vessel where we store our Self. It makes us so defensive that to have someone talk about it without subterfuge is seen as a threat rather than an act of human fellowship.
And then as one big part of the defense against that fear, we often emotionally accept--even if intellectually we know it's not true--the pervasive lie that strong, upstanding people can't be raped, and especially that men can't be raped unless there is something so fundamentally wrong with them that they no longer count as part of the social category "men". And we accept the converse lie too; that good people can't rape, and therefore if someone isn't 100% irredeemable the sexual assault alleged by their victim can't really have happened. I see this in fandom with both on-screen and off-screen SA, with SA jokes, and across male and female perpetrators.
A couple examples under the cut. The cut is there in case you aren't a masochist and don't like the feeling of needing eyeball bleach.
SA happens because you're a bad person:
Tbf to OP, post one is liveblogging 12x02, where we don't know immediately that it's SA. Otoh they felt no need to liveblog the reveal that Sam wasn't in fact a dirty whore who was fucking his torturer because he's just that slutty. And the later post on why Sam gets sexually assaulted so often, is not substantially different reasoning
Or maybe it's not SA at all. Because you're a bad person and also crazy (italics at the beginning are a quote from me):
It's not rape if I like the rapist, plus bonus you made me do it because you're a bad person:
And the all time, best ever, gold metal winners, from Mark P and Sebastian Roche:
Video of the panel is gone, but there is contemporaneous liveblogging:
This is from a con in January 2015. Sooooo right after O Brother Where Art Thou when Lucifer made the rape joke/threat while Sam cried. Could totally have been consensual though, because Lucifer isn't as bad as people make him out to be, dontchaknow. And Mark P is a nice guy who respects women (lol), so obviously it wasn't a rape joke. He would never. (┛`д´)┛彡┻━┻
#thanks for the ask!#sorry it took me a couple days to answer#the rabbit hole was deep and dark lol#long term nuclear waste warning. jpg#except for the mark p one theyre all from conversations i was involved in myself but every extant search engine is now a useless wasteland#cw rape#rape culture#long post#long long ugly post

I just want to applaud your answer. Well said

And to add, there is nothing to let go. Jensen showed us who he was, repeatedly, not just prequel gate, and we believe him. He’s a narcissist that only cares about himself. Some people are fine with that. Others are not.
And honestly, I look through a jaded eye now at all the “help” Jensen gave Jared through the years, and wonder if it was Jensen being a good friend, or if it was to help Jensen. Like telling Jared not to quit in S3. Sure, it helped Jared not get blacklisted, but it also kept Jensen employed.
And when Jared is front of the SPN crowd, he lauds, or Jensen lauds, how Jensen helped Jared. But when Jared doesn’t have that SPN fan pressure, he gives that praise to Gen and how she saved his life. That makes me wonder, honestly.
Thank you! I sometimes wonder if I can get my point across clearly.
There's also a very conspicuous absence of Jensen from Jared's retelling of his breakdown in 2015. No one's been able to really explain that. (Not that they have to, this is just an example.)
I love that Jared and Gen are hitting the con circuit together and having seen them in person, can tell that they are comfortable with each other, they love each other, and they respect each other.

I think anon got a little confused re: J2’s social media. They don’t have someone else running their accounts, they just now have social media contractual obligations. So they have to do X amount of promo posts and are most likely barred from posting anything super inappropriate or following inappropriate/adult content accounts. You can tell by looking at their instagrams.
Jared’s instagram has changed the least because he’s always more or less followed the same format. Log on every once and a while to promote work or charity, and his family posts typically line up with birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and vacations. When he logs on to post he usually reposts content from Gen or Towwn, something social justice related, and something funny on his stories. His Twitter hasn’t been personal in a long time and is used for live tweeting, interacting with fans and occasional updates.
Jensen’s instagram has undergone the most noticeable change. This ended up being super long, so I’ll separate it by year so that it’s easier to follow along. I also won’t include stories/livestreams to simplify things.
From 2015 when he first joined to the first half of 2016 it was very impersonal. Mostly behind the scenes SPN and con content, a couple pictures of JJ, a couple of pictures of Danneel with no sickeningly sweet, over dramatic captions. Then in the summer of 2016 things start to change. Still mostly SPN related, but he starts to post Danneel a little more and announces that they’re expecting twins.
2017 is when he starts promoting himself as a family man and starts pushing Danneel/inserting her in his branding. This is when those over the top captions start appearing in association with Danneel related content. He posts his private life and promotes SPN in equal measure, and slowly the shameless self promotion begins (which he jokingly admits to in a post on July 12, 2017 on a post of J2’s TV Guide cover). This is also when he kind of jumps on Danneel’s slacktivist band wagon and starts promoting charitable causes, all in association with FBBC (which hasn’t opened yet) or his family of course.
In 2018 FBBC opens, and the focus is all on the brewery, his family/Danneel, and himself. The little SPN promo he does is all centered around Dean (it used to be brother focused), and con content turns into photos of him performing (setting the stage for Radio Co). Continues to take a page out of Danneel’s book/special brand of slacktivism where he makes everything about himself or his family. This is also when he starts with the costumes and setting himself up for the superhero roles he wants post-SPN.
In 2019 the Danneel content really ramps ups, plus she starts really getting in on it and commenting on everything like they’re teenagers and he’s her first boyfriend. It’s incredibly cringey. He also continues to promote himself and try and set himself apart from Jared/Sam. If I didn’t know SPN, I would assume he was the lead. Radio Co. is announced. In May 2019, they announce that s15 will be the final season. What’s interesting is his caption– “Though nothing ever really ends in Supernatural…does it? 😉” so some evidence that he’s been planning the prequel/SPN takeover since 2019.
2020 is interesting, because the pandemic clearly put a dent in his networking/self promotion. The start of the year is promotion for both of the Ackles. Very much “look at us! We’re apart of Hollywood but we’re cool and different from those other guys!” When the lockdown happens, he leans even more into the family man and dedicated husband image. A little bit of SPN promo, but not much. Gets really into activism (specifically BLM and voting), just like every other celebrity at the time despite never having cared about it before. He announces his role as Soldier Boy on August 17. Chaos Machine Productions is announced on October 8, he uses a picture of him and Danneel at the GG afterparty (a picture he’s overused, don’t you have other pictures with your wife?). In late 2020, the family and wife content starts to slow down.
In 2021, Jensen starts off the year pretty strong and posts regularly. He posts for the Walker premiere, he posts Danneel a few times, he congratulates himself for his critics choice award, a makes few slacktivism posts, promotes Radio Co. and FBBC, and goes back to promoting himself. Spring of 2021 is when he starts to get really selective about social media, the Jensen we associate with SM today. It’s all work and self-promo. No more Danneel content (though she continues to comment on almost every post), the only family content in the latter half of 2021 are his birthday posts for the kids and the Christmas photo dump. He posts his announces prequel announcement on June 24, does not tag Danneel is the picture or caption.
In 2022, Jensen hires a publicist. This is important to note because this ties directly into how he now uses instagram. Out of the 37 posts in 2022, 15 are promo for The Boys, 3 are promo for Big Sky, 4 are promo for The Winchesters, 1 is promo for Radio Co. Volume III, 1 is promo for the episode of Walker he directed, 11 are self-promo*, 1 post to celebrate the twins birthday, and 1 post to celebrate Danneel’s birthday. No promo for FBBC, no more activism/political posts. So 24/37 were work related because he has to meet a certain promo quota. That’s also why he’s live tweeted for TW and did that awful instagram live, he’s contractually obligated to promote TW. And while a lot of people have speculated that he has someone else running his Twitter, he doesn’t. All of the tweets have his voice (if that makes sense) he just made those mistakes with TW because he doesn’t care about the show and would ignore it completely if he could. He doesn’t have the money to justify the expense of having a social media team, and while he could have an assistant post for him, I don’t think Jensen has an assistant. They’re another expense he’s not busy enough to justify, he’s never told any stories that suggests he has one, and based on his stories seems to handle most assistant things by himself (flights, scheduling, making phone calls, etc).
*Self Promo Posts: Outside of You podcast with MR, HBD post for Dean, Mardi Gras photo dump/HBD to him (no Danneel in pictures despite the fact that they were together), SXSW w/ Batmobile, Man About Town editorial got two posts, CW upfronts (no mention of TW, the cast, or Danneel. Photos are of him in the car leaving for TB promo), Zombies 3 carpet with JJ, Men’s Health diet interview, him outside the Pie shipping container labeled Pie (he tagged BS and TW in this pic), and the Adam Rose sweater thirst trap video.
Yet since he never developed his actor's logline, none of his content is in line with his branding and his branding is unclear so casting will have no idea what Jensen is going for.
I think the anon got confused as well, possibly english is their second language.

tag game!
Rules: list eight shows for your followers to get to know you better.
I was tagged by @st-eve-barnes thank u lovely!!! these are not in any particular order, just what came to mind!
gilmore girls: i watched this for the first time during my last year of high school and it's become one of my comfort shows. definitely my go to when i want to watch something but i'm not in the mood to start something new
teen wolf: shaped the better part of my teenage years, and recently (a year or so ago) rewatched it with my sibling. i miss that era of my life so much lmfao 2015/2016 and comic con interviews etc (for all the big shows at the time, honestly, it was so good)
supernatural: oh my god. watched the bugs and bloody mary episodes in like ?? 2010 when i was eight or something and it was a core memory. properly started watching it when i was 15 i think and i was literally such a die-hard fan of the show. one of my og tumblr blogs was literally just me rb-ing spn self inserts. such a fun time on the internet. bit of a cult tbh but fun times, even though i never finished it.
derry girls: another comfort show!!!! never ever fails to make me giggle and i always return to it every few months. so so so dear to my heart <3333
anne with an e: SO dear to me oh my god. the whimsy! the romanticism! one of the few shows i consistently stuck with through to the end, from release to cancellation. shaped my young adulthood, from i think 15 to 18. came at the perfect time of my life. so so dear to me.
normal people: i think about marianne and connell almost always. came at the perfect time of my life, too. i watched it just before lockdown in 2020, but only the portions set in highschool, i think and then finished it a year later, after so much in my life had happened. i have complex feelings about sally rooney and the book but it never fails to make me feel something, watching paul mescal and daisy edgar jones. the high school portion is what stands out to me most i think, because it was what i remembered so much when lockdown and all that came with it happened.
marianne: i watched this with one of my best friends, and i really really liked the cinematography, and the storytelling. loved the production, and the subtext, all the messy feelings between the protagonists and the themes of friendship and family and love. really creepy and scary, but also felt so human.
the sex lives of college girls: so funny! did not like the ending to the last season, but i liked the characters a lot prior to that. also love ensemble cast shows <3 loved the development of their friendships and their character arcs (leighton!!!!!) watched this during the summer hols this year and stayed up all night watching it hehe
no pressure tagging some of my lovely moots: @theold-ultraviolence @flowerpotmage @oldtowrs

The crazy J1 stan blocked me, so here's my reply to their post.
"mememe12345mememeio
Rewatch the panel... you spread a lot of lias like a typical collins stan... jensen and misha literally are not in contant since spn ended based on their own words beside work... they never had mutual friends, hobbies etc. And ever pics of them are either from cons pkus that pr yana stand in 2015... The hug in this jib you write about was from collins to ackles and right after it ackles said that he did not said those words because he did not...that panel is on youtube my god !!! I ever saw death threats just from collins stans and aa for jared for literally breathing. But sent me what yoi saw in last 4 years...thank you
I have watched the panel. They are mutual friends. Jensen and Misha are close. Jensen has said that he'd call Misha in a pinch. They have been in contact since the show ended. Why do you hate Misha so much that you have to project your hatred onto Jensen?
Are there some crazy Cockles fans out there? Yes, there are. But there are more crazy J2 stans who are very loud, especially about their hatred for Misha. It appears that you are one of them, giving all J2 shippers a bad name.
I have watched the panel in question, and nowhere does Jensen say he hate Misha. The gifs you have shown are just Jensen joking around. That's his sort of humour. He doesn't mean it. He is friends with both Misha and Jared. Can you not comprehend that it's possible to be friends with more than one person?
Stop spreading hate in this fandom. Your blog seems to be centred on hating on Misha and anything related to him. Stop giving J2 fans a bad name. We don't appreciate it. Again - spread love, not hate.

I wonder if Misha and Emily were dating before Misha and Vicki divorced? Misha has certainly known Emily for a decade or longer (she was executive director of Lydia Place in Bellingham from 2012 to 2023 and Misha's been involved with Lydia Place since at least 2015, I think.) I know Misha and Vicki had an open marriage and dated other people when they were married. I wonder if Emily was one of them? It's interesting that Emily still lives in Bellingham and Misha still owns a house there (even though he no longer has to be up there for filming in Vancouver and Vicki and the kids live in Southern California now.) I wonder if Emily is the reason Misha wanted to stay up in Washington state after SPN ended? (and/or perhaps she's the reason Vicki wanted to leave?) Misha is still registered to vote in WA, I think, not in SoCal. And I think he still owns a property out on the islands.
Or maybe Misha and Emily got together after Misha and Vicki separated? Who knows, I guess. 2020-2021 was a shitshow all over. A lot of relationships broke down or changed shape. I HOPE it wasn't a nasty break up, though. Misha and Vicki seemed very much still together and on good terms right up until the end of 2019 (with the promotion of the family cookbook and all. Doing their first ever book signings together and such.) But I guess unless Misha chooses to talk about it more or Vicki writes a divorce memoir (ngl, I would so read that!) we'll probably never know.
But anyway. Emily seems like a great person. She did a lot of great work for people in her community with Lydia Place. I wonder what she's up to now, job-wise? I hope it's something equally as fulfilling. (I'm resisting the urge to snoop on her LinkedIn.)
Hey anon. I really hate to speculate about anything related to those aspects of their relationships. What I know is that Misha and Vicki divorced, and Emily and her husband divorced. All the other details about it, about what happened before, during, or after? You could come up with 100 different scenarios, and still not be close to correct, and everyone involved has their own feelings about how and why things happened. Misha seemed to become active with Lydia Place in 2017, and I know there were events and community projects in 2017 where Misha, Vicki, and Emily were together, and then they were all together at a fundraiser in early 2020. So it's apparent they all knew each other for some time through Lydia Place. I know in late 2021 Misha said at a con that he was seeing someone, saying it was 'not exclusive', but I don't know if he was referring to Emily or someone else at the time. I do hope whatever happened that the ending of their marriages were amicable, or at least has come back to a friendly scenario, especially with all the children involved.
From what Misha has said recently, he is still registered to vote in Whatcom County. He does have homes in both places, and he seems to enjoy time with his kids in both states. There are other ties he has to Washington, related to community outreach and programs he's been involved in. Emily has a position in another organization now, and has been active in further community outreach, so it does look like she's continuing to make a difference.

Hello! I've been scrolling your codependency tag and I saw a mention of Jared 'dragging' Gen to jib and something about her being shaken by almost losing him, and I was wondering what that was in reference to? I'm not as up-to-date with wife/marriage gossip, though I've heard bits and pieces about Gen's family being weird
Gen's family being weird? Gen and her siblings are trust fund babies so they may not act quite like the rest of us due to severe lack of fiscal insecurities.
Anyhoo, here is the short timeline:
March 3, 2015 - Jared outed himself for having clinical depression.
May 10, 2015 - Gen and Jeffry Dean Morgan left a British con early. Reasons unknown but fans overheard arguments.
May 15, 2015 - Jared has a breakdown in Geneva, returns to the U.S for treatment, and cancels his Jib con appearance.
One year-ish later, Jared admitted in a private panel and in a book on the SPN fandom that he was suicidal in Geneva.
May 26, 2016 - Jared returns to Jib con, bringing Gen with him.
While the wives sometimes accompany their husbands to Jib con, it's pretty rare so it raises attention when they are there, especially on stage with "the boys". It's my speculation that Gen would rather not attend Jib cons due to the frat boy atmosphere, complete with drinking and lack of handlers. But nearly losing Jared in Geneva may have compelled Gen to agree to make a rare appearance.

To clarify, when I said Jensen is not a producer, I didn't mean he didn't hold the title or the job. He was given the title and the job, sure. But he has absolutely zero idea how to do it and (going by what I've seen) very little interest, humility, curiosity, or care to actually learn. Never mind the backstabbing part, keeping the idea from Jared was INSANELY stupid from a business perspective. Jared would've helped because he's incredibly generous. Of the two, it's Jared who is the producer. I remember at 2015 Comic Con when Jared was asked if he'd like to direct besides acting he said no, if he was going to do sth else it would be producing. All the way back in 2015 and he already knew what he could do. He's smart & self-aware enough to know his strengths and put effort into cultivating them. Jensen is a passable director who is better than passable when the camera is on Jared, maybe due to what seems like his own weird proprietary-ish obsessive love-hate, admiration-jealousy mess when it comes to Jared. He really should stick to acting & directing. He can make money and minions out of those. Friends, however? Not so much, but he doesn't seem interested in the ONE real friendship we've watched him benefit from over the years, so I'm guessing he's not worried abt friends. He's happy to play up for hellers then sulk when they fall for what is clearly an act, and he's never spoken up abt the hate Jared gets from vocal fans of Jensen. And how many vocal Jared haters has Jensen employed so far? Even creativity isn't his forte: Unlike Jared, Jensen never reads scripts in advance despite complaining (read: throwing ppl under the bus) later and for YEARS abt SPN plots & dialogue. He needs to shut up, stop thinking, accept directing and acting jobs that pay, and bask in the gross horny lies, er, "flattery" from his loon fans. As for Jared, I hope his sympathy, generosity, and kindness don't mean he ends up giving Jensen work on Walker or any other project Jared helms, and I hope Jared never feels he owes it to Jensen to help out by appearing on any fiasco Jensen decides to make. I'm so grateful Jared was never on The Boys or TW. He has ample sense not to, but we've seen how his kindness makes him continue to support Stands to help out. Jared's caption on the latest Instagram post was poignant. Slide through life with people who love you. Not "with good buddies" or "good friends" or even any indication to the bond he and Anson have after surviving that horrible crash. No. He chose to say "people who love you". It's sad that he now knows that there are others who don't and were only ever using him. Remember the cryptic Instagram post a few years ago on his birthday, when he said (paraphrasing here) that it was awful and some people were working against him? I thought it about someone behind the scenes. Now I think it must've been about Jensen. He wouldn't have sounded so hurt if it had been anyone else. Imagine rooming with your costar, discovering you have so much in common, building a beautiful cult show together, starting families and doting on each other's kids, all of it for FIFTEEN years, only to discover the dude you had to create boundaries with wasn't simply too controlling or obsessive because you were his most precious best friend, oh no. It was because he never had any friendship or love for you in the first place. God. I'm so glad he has his family and Gen and his kids and people like Anson. Thank you for allowing me to send you all this. You're a wonderful blogger with a good head on your shoulders and a heart in the right place. I respect you a lot because you keep your criticism where it counts. You don't make fun of people's looks (ppl we hate, like Dmitri, Danneel, etc), for instance. I love your blog. Have a good day or evening, laf-outloud.
Thanks for clarifying the producer part! I totally agree. Obviously, there were issues from even before the announcement, but the fact that Jensen admitted to sitting in his car while everything supposedly ran smoothly on set (and later finding out they had to do a bunch of reshoots), told me all I needed to know about his producing 'skills' early on. And if Jensen decides to continue directing, I hope he takes advantage of some of the directing programs studios offer so he can improve his skills.
I'm truly grateful that Jared's been able to experience a much healthier and loving environment around his family, his true friends, and his coworkers. Every time I see photos of him, he just looks healthier and happier than he seemed to be on the SPN set.
Thank you for sharing everything else, I really have nothing to add because you've said it so much better than I ever could, and especially, thank you for your very kind words! I may get salty sometimes, and don't always get things right, but I do try and stay fair, and I'm glad that you, and hopefully others, see that. Sending love back to you and best wishes for a wonderful weekend!

To go with my earlier anon about Jensen’s instagram, I went through every year and categorized it so that people can see what a stark difference late 2021-2022 was to his earlier years. Also, Jensen posts a lot more than people remember, so I guess he’s a little bit more savvy when it comes to SM than he wants people to think. I can go a little more in depth if anyone has any questions!

He's savvy on how to use Instagram as an app but not teally savvy when it comes to using it for self marketing purposes.
An actor's social media success isn't measured by number of followers or number of posts but by how developed their brand is, each post must be in line with that, down to each comment. Think of it like a persona. Jensen must be in character, meaning he needs to be authentic to his essence, the very one he sells to buyers. Ryan Reynolds is an example I like to mention often, ALL of his posts are always, always on brand. Ryan is ALWAYS working. Why? Because people know who he is and what he is about, they know that if they hire him he will deliver chaos, humor and vulnerability and he will do so in the same unique way he's been constant in all these years.
A successful social media account for an actor has different types of post but all with the same through line. Jensen isn't even close. He is all over the place and doesn't know himself.
CDs, producers, etc could care less about your SM followers if your SM accounts don't properly tell the story about who you are as a person and I mean branding wise not personal, it's ok to have a few personal posts as long as they are on brand. Again, Ryan Reynolds, even when he is talking about family he is craking insane jokes and burns because that's a part of who he is branding wise. In real life he might be the most romantic person on earth, we will never know lol because he is so so damn good at living his brand authentically and he knows to never thread the line where you start to get viewed as a regular person. Actors are not regular people, they are an image, so their SM needs to align with all of the prospects they may have career wise.
The self promotional posts he makes are not well thought out as they come off arrogant. An actor's social media should be 80% industry related, craft, skills demonstration( if you know martial arts then we need to see this on your sm through videos and related posts), languages (if you speak foreign languages then we need to see this on your sm), promotion of others, etc and only 20% self promotion. Why? Because only posting about your work achievements is like those Insta accounts where people only post duck lip selfies and 60 per day. All it tells casting is you are only in it for yourself. Doesn't mean he can't self promote, it's how he does it that matters. For example, he could post about his roles in an entertaining way or by sharing captivating stories rather than just bragging in a stand offish way. All that does is tell people he isn't that important, because if he was he wouldn't need to toot his own horn.
Let me try and give an example: If you are mostly perceived as sensual then people expect posts that embody that essence. Meaning cds and other industry professionals expect to experience feeling captivated by your sensuality with your every post. The types of pictures, stories, self promos you share will match that overall vibe otherwise you will lose credibility and confuse your buyers. If you are The Geek then those posts, stories, experiences, self promos will be extremely different from someone whose main type is the femme fatale.
So yes, you're absolutely right, he is more savvy with social media then he lets on but he's perfectly clueless when it comes to his own industry and applying branding principles to his SM. Even the SM guidelines from his shows, instead of following them he uses these bland captions that border on arrogance and just make him seem disconnected and clueless.
Your post gave idea about a practical SM actor brading post I could write so thank you, anon. Also, I deeply admire your patience, I could never go through all of his posts like that.

Well shit. im currently re-making my old mechanical wings from a few years ago for a Castiel cosplay (I used them for GOmens Crowley back in 2018) And i was literally about to make them in black again but like. Hmmmmm. Maybe i will continue to ignore canon and make them in black anyway <3

does anyone else just like associate each year of their life with like, one big event or defining factor? like when someone says 2020 I’ll obviously think ‘oh yeah, pandemic year’ but if someone says 2019 I’m like ‘ah yes, house year. Year I got a house’. 2018 was moving out year, 2017 was the wild sex year, 2016 for me was Germany year
#personal#i can go back to about 2012#then my memories get too vague#2015 was year of depression and misery#2014 was first spn con year#2013 was self harm year#and 2012 was kinda leaving school/yogscast obsession year
