Update: making my bf watch SPN

He will only watch 150 episodes, so this weekend we have watched 8.11 (LARP and the real girl), 8.13 (everybody hates nazis), 8.17 (goodbye, stranger), and 8.19 (taxi driver).

He loves Charlie. He wishes she was as prevalent in the show as Cas bc shes awesome. He is worried about her future on the show… as he should be. 8.13 was one of his favorite episodes so far, if not favorite.

He sees Dean as bi. Between Benny and Aaron and Cas… my bf just feels bad for Dean this season bc he can’t keep a man.

He was thrilled to see his favorite character Bobby make an appearance.

He LOVES Crowley. He very much dislikes the show overall, with some episode exceptions. But he thinks Crowley is one of his favorite TV villains. This is definitely going to help him tolerate the rest of the show. Thank god for Mark.

He loved Benny. He was really upset when Dean and Benny said their final goodbyes, he TEARED UP even.

The main reason for his sadness over Benny is bc he thinks Benny is the man Dean deserves. But instead Dean just keeps going back to his “toxic, abusive relationship” with Cas. And… i know there are a lot of people who share this take but this is the first time I am really seeing it too... Lmao. He hates Cas bc he treats Dean like crap and I mean… he isn’t wrong but it’s more complicated than that imo but i love their fucked up love so I’m biased.

He still dislikes Sam but isn’t as angry about him being on screen in S8 since his sideburns are under control. He said “wow, he’s actually handsome now.”

I am dreading Charlie’s death, he is gonna be pissed. But looking forward to some of the higher points of Destiel to try and sell him on them.

Sam's reaction to seeing the library in the MoL Bunker for the first time is adorable. He swears, does a double take at Dean, and looks like a kid on Christmas morning.

Them finding and spending time in the bunker. Dean getting SO flustered when a guy flirts with him. “He was my gay thing”. Golem. “These guys are psychopaths”.

About Aaron Bass: We know he canonically tailed Dean and when Dean confronted him about it, Aaron pretended to flirt with him to throw him off.

So the flirting was simply a tactic (which worked).

Ok, so maybe not a big deal, but I love that they moved into the bunker. I love the idea that they have a home, finally, after all these years of going from motel to motel.

Granted, they’ll stay at motels from time to time when they’re out of town, but the point is, that they have a home base. Something that they haven’t had since Dean was 4 and Sam was 6 months old - something that’s finally their very own. I love that for them.

bunker reveal? also that dude tromping around was very mr x from resident evil. this is so weird. i'm feeling Feelings because of how much fic i've read that takes place in the bunker LOL

are they gonna have this echo in every scene in this place? it's a lot. very... museum. and with the old music in the background. the amped up foley on everything but especially on the pages turning in the book. the sound on this scene is overwhelming my brain. making emotions fire willynilly. smashing nostalgia and deja vu and can't you smell it with a wallop of the shining like ?????

not to mention how rich and resonant their voices are sounding. and callin sam 'little brother'. to quote the venerable trent reznor "well i want to wrap it up and swim in it until i drown"

sigh, all right. this dude flirting with him. ha ha dean feeling awkward because of the gay. but really real world for a second. it's hard for me to believe that mister dean winchester, looking like he does, going through life spending a lot of time in bars etc, can't smoothly handle a dude openly asking him out.

oh and another chance to make it awkward having the dude be part of the case and he wasn't actually flirting. double your no homo for one low price

this plot is something. the mr x golem is kinda neat but this whole men of letters nazi necromancer thing is A Lot. we're just gonna keep making up societies

sam lookin good with the twilight complexion

the actor playing the golem, john desantis, was lurch in the new addams family series (late 90s) and is 6'9". nice that he has an actually decent amount of lines too! not just lumbering around being a monster. not very golem like though, but hey! and adam rose, the name is familiar and i have seen his face before, but i'm not sure i've seen anything he's been in. ditto for hal linden who played rabbi bass. he was in barney miller

good grief. that whole scene was so terribly sweet it made me cry haha. dean happy, proud, encouraging sam... having a home. ack
