Pairing: Spider-Gwen x Fem!Reader
Summary: The request!
Word Count: 2.2k
Authors Note: No need to apologize, anon, don’t worry about it! I hope I did Gwen some justice with this fic! 😊
You were startled awake by three knocks on your bedroom window. With squinted eyes, you sat up slightly and tapped your phone screen to see that it was only a little past five in the morning. Who on earth would even be at your house this early?
Three more knocks sounded on your window, this time louder and seemingly more impatient which prompted you to sit all the way up. You swung your legs over the edge of your bed and made your way over to the window.
When you pulled back the curtains you were surprised to see Gwen crouched down on the roof as she normally didn’t return to you until later in the evening.
Recently, your time together has been limited because Gwen had been so busy with her spider duties, but she somehow always made time to see you everyday even if it wasn’t for that long.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of you as you unlocked your window and opened it, “Hey, baby,” she said with a bright smile.
“Gwen? What’re you doing here? Last night you said you had another mission today.” you asked as she climbed into your room.
“Well, I convinced Miguel to pass the rest of my assignments off to someone else because I wanted to see you. I’ve missed you.”
Gwen stepped closer to wrap her arms around you while your heart fluttered at her words. You relaxed into her embrace and let your head fall to her shoulder while your arms went around her neck, inhaling her familiar scent.
"I've missed you too." you said.
As you stood there in a comfortable silence, her words sank in. It was starting make you feel guilty that Gwen set aside her hero work to be with you while your parent's don't even know about your relationship.
You're not even out to them yet. Of course your parents know Gwen as you had been friends for a while before you began dating, but that's all your parents think it is.
A friendship.
You couldn't help but wonder if she was getting tired of all the secrecy, but you were too worried about your parent's reaction to the confession to do anything about it.
Gwen must've noticed the change in your demeanor because she broke the silence, "What's going on in the pretty head of yours, hm?" she wondered as she pressed a kiss to your hairline.
It took you a moment to gather your thoughts before responding, "Are you not tired of waiting for me?" you asked.
She furrowed her eyebrows at the question, "What do you mean?"
You buried your face in the crook of her neck to avoid her gaze before adding on, “Does it not bother you that my parents don’t know about us? About me?”
She shook her head, “I don’t mind, Y/N. I mean of course I would love for your parents to know about us, but not until you’re ready for them to know. What brought this on?”
You just shrugged your shoulders, “You were ready to take a break from being spider-woman to be able to spend more time with me while I’m too scared to even tell my parents that I also like girls. I’m just worried that you’ll get sick of hiding.”
Gwen rubbed her hand along your back to reassure you. She hated seeing you so worked up. “You don’t have to worry about that, baby. As long as I get to be with you I’m okay with it, and when and only when you’re ready to tell them, I’ll be there with you. I don’t care how long it takes. I’ll wait for you.” she spoke to you ever so softly.
You lifted your head from her neck to look at her.
“There are those beautiful eyes.” she grinned and you giggle.
“Are you sure?” you asked, referring to her assuring statement from just a moment ago.
Gwen gazed at you as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, “Without a doubt in my mind."
You stared into her eyes before leaning in to press your lips against hers. You don't know what you had done to deserve Gwen and her patience, but you were grateful for it nonetheless.
As you pulled away from the kiss, her comforting voice replayed in your mind.
When you're ready to tell them, I'll be there with you.
“I think I’m ready. I want to tell them.” you practically whispered.
Gwen slightly frowned in confusion at your words. She thought the whole reason for this conversation was because you were scared she’d get bored of having to sneak around since you weren’t out to your parents yet.
“Y/N, I don’t want you to feel pressured into saying something if—”
You quickly interrupted her, “No, no. I am ready. I want to tell them about us because I know that no matter their reaction I’ll have you, right?”
A small smile graced her lips, “You’ll always have me, but I want you to be one-hundred percent certain. Are you?”
“Without a doubt in my mind.” you said and she chuckled when she realized you repeated her words from earlier.
You pecked her lips again before bringing her into another hug. Your fingers lovingly grazed the baby hairs growing on the nape of her neck as you yawned, the sleep you were missing out on from being woken up so early now catching up to you.
Gwen laughed and slightly pulled back to look at your tired eyes, “Sleepy?”
You playfully rolled your eyes, “Yeah, because somebody decided to show up at my window at five in the morning like a creep and wake me up.”
You peeled yourself off her and ran a hand through your hair as you moved to close your curtains, effectively blocking out the sunlight from the rising sun.
“Well you do look very cute when you just wake up.”
“I look a mess.” you disagreed.
Gwen watched as you climbed back into your bed and pulled the covers over you, making yourself comfortable.
When you looked back her you raised your eyebrow, 'Well are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come cuddle me. You owe it to me anyway for waking me up this early."
She jokingly scoffed and kicked her shoes off before sliding under the covers next to you, "You're not worried about your parents walking in?" she asked as you situated yourself to curl up to her.
You shook your head, "No, they won't wake up for a few hours. If we decide to fall asleep I'll just set an alarm."
She agreed and wrapped her arms around you, securing you against her, "I love you, Y/N." she whispered, but it was loud enough for you to hear her.
"I love you too, Gwen.
~ ~ ~
This time you woke up to the repetitive chime of your alarm. You groaned and blindly reached over to tap your phone screen, eventually shutting off the alarm.
You rolled back over to look at your girlfriend who was somehow still asleep despite the sudden sound. "Gwen," you whispered.
She hummed, letting you know that she heard you but her eyes remained closed, "Baby," you spoke softly, "We've got to wake up now before my parents do."
Gwen just tightened her arm around you to bring you closer, "We can spare a few more minutes." she mumbled. You were about insist once more until you were interrupted by a loud grumbling of her stomach.
You giggled as she let her eyes flutter open, "Sounds to me like your stomach thinks otherwise." you joked.
Gwen just playfully glared at you. Reaching for your phone you checked the time, "Come on, we still have about an hour before they normally wake up. We can get something to eat real quick."
She groaned as you rolled out of bed and took her hand to pull her up with you before making your way out of your room and down the stairs. When you walked into the kitchen your heart had nearly jumped out of your chest at the sight of your parents sitting at the dining table.
They were sipping on cups of coffee with plates of breakfast sitting in front of them.
"Good morning, dear—” your mom greeted, but her train of thought was quickly lost when she saw the girl next to you, "Gwen? When did you get here? We didn't see you come in."
It wasn't an unusual thing to you parents for Gwen to be at your house often as she was your best friend, but they were confused as to why she was here this early in the morning.
"Oh, not long ago. I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to come over. I came in through the window instead of the front door so I didn't wake anyone else up because it was so early." Gwen quickly came up with some justification for her being here.
Your parents seemed to have bought it because they just nodded their heads and returned to what they were doing before, "There's some extra food on the stove for you girls if you're hungry." your father spoke.
You thanked him and made your way further into the kitchen to get a plate of food with Gwen following behind. You looked at Gwen and flicked your eyes towards the dining table. She nodded, making a silent agreement to join your parents at the table.
They didn't seem to notice when you sat situated yourself in the seats across from them as they appeared to be in their own little worlds. You looked to Gwen once again and she gave you another little nod, placing a comforting hand on your thigh.
You cleared your throat, "Um. Mom, dad," you said and they looked up at you, the sudden attention slightly startling you, "I have something that I want to tell you."
Your parents shared a look before turning back to you, "Are you okay? What is it, honey?" your mother asked.
"I'm fine, it's just— I need to tell you something and I want you to promise me that nothing is gonna change. That you'll still see me the same way you do now and you'll still love me."
The way you were talking was worrying your parents and they looked at each other with concern in their eyes.
"Of course we'll still love you, sweetheart, but was is it? You're starting to scare us."
You glanced at Gwen and she squeezed your thigh. You didn't want to beat around the bush but you also didn't know how you were supposed to say it, so you just blurted it out.
"I like girls." you said.
Silence rang through the room so you continued, "I—I like girls, and guys. I like both, but-- but I wanted to tell you that I like girls too." you were stuttering a ton and your voice was shaking, but you couldn't help it. "And— and Gwen isn't just my friend. We're dating."
You couldn't quite read the expression on your parents face which made you even more anxious. You felt like you could almost cry. Gwen rubbed her hand up and down your thigh, letting you know that she was still here.
"Is that all?" your mom asked.
You gulped and nodded your head, becoming confused when your parents glanced at each other with amusement on their faces.
"Oh, honey, we've been known that." your mom chuckled.
Your eyes widened at her words, "You-- what?"
"Y/N, we're not clueless. We see the way you two look at each other, it's almost obvious, but we were waiting for you to come to us." you father jumped in.
You opened your mouth to speak, but you didn't exactly know what to say, "So, you're not mad?" you eventually wondered.
A smiled spread across your mothers face, "Of course not, Y/N. You're our daughter and we'll always love you. We've known Gwen for a while too and we adore her, so we're relieved you picked someone like her."
It felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off of your shoulders listening to your mom. You were surprised to say the least that they already knew, but you weren't complaining.
"Thank you." was all you managed to get out.
"You don't have to thank us, sweetie. We're your parents, it's what we're supposed to do. Now come here." You let your parents envelope you in a warm hug that made you feel so safe.
Their voices were slightly muffled from the embrace, but you could make out a few "we love you's", and "we'll always be here for you's". When they pulled back your father looked towards Gwen who sat with a big smile on her face.
"Now just because I've known you prior to you dating my daughter, Gwen, doesn't mean you get to escape 'the talk'" he joked and Gwen laughed along with him, "Just take care of my daughter, okay?"
Gwen smiled at you, "I promise I always will."

tasm!peter pushing reader away bc in his mind he should love Gwen more? then he realizes he was stupid and confesses his love to reader?
Hi!!! Sorry this took a while I’ve been on holidays xx (also I changed this just a little at the end because I was running out of time to post it)
w/c: 600
warnings: mentions of death and grief, NOT PROOF READ
“I’m Sorry”
Peter loved y/n he knew that, he loved the way her hair shined in the sun and the way her eyes crinkled when she smiled.
He loved her
But she wasn’t the one…Gwen had been the one, Gwen had been perfect, she had been his other half. Y/n was lovely but he couldn’t help but think he was leading her on.
It took two years for him to finally start dating again and it took him another 6 months to actually treat anyone seriously.
But then came you, it had been a surprise really, but isn’t that how most things are with love? You had been the waitress at the cafe he was meeting one of his tinder date at and it…well something happened. It was friendship at first but two weeks in he found himself deleting tinder and hinge, he told himself it wasn’t like that but both off you knew it was.
So now here he was waiting in a washed out diner to tell her the truth, that nothing could happen between them and that this ‘situationship’ couldn’t go on anymore. He couldn’t do this to you it wasn’t fair, he needed to put an end to whatever this relationship was becoming.
You gazed at your reflection unsure in what you were seeing. You weren’t sure that the pale pink halter top and white maxi skirt did anything for your figure-
No it’s fine, I look fine.
Peter had complimented that skirt before, you knew he liked it, today was going to be good, he said he needed to confess something. Maybe he had decided to finally go a step forward and officially ask you out.
Maybe
You walked along the cobbled pavement your sandals scraping against the stone, these where your favourite shoes; practical, cute and comfy. You had bought them on a shopping trip with Peter, he had insisted on buying them for you. He had claimed that they went with your ‘vibe’ you didn’t really know what he meant by that but you took them anyway happy he was thinking of you.
Finally you reached the diner opening the door with a push.
There he was sitting in a booth by the corner, he was staring out the window watching the people go by.
“Hey”
He looked up
“Hi”
Silence stretched between you both before you took a seat on the other side of the booth.
“So? What’s up?” You tried not to sound to eager, there was every chance this was just a normal hangout.
Peter paused scratching his head before quietly saying
“We need to-I need to stop, I’ve got a lot of shit on right now-“
his voice broke he couldn’t-wouldn’t tell you about Gwen, not after promising it was no longer an issue when you both had first became friends.
You felt your face drop
Of course
It was stupid to get your hopes up, stupid to hope this was going to become something.
“Oh”
you murmured heat rushing to your cheeks as you forced yourself to look away from the brunette.
“I’m sorry”
And that was that, it was over. You stood up embarrassment hot on your face and walked away.
This was so stupid, you were so stupid, why did you let this go on for so long?
Weeks turned into months which eventually turned into a year which eventually turned into a year and a half and Peter still hadn’t heard from you. Of course he didn’t exactly go out of his way to find you either but still he missed you.
He found himself looking for you in everything. A seashell necklace that glittered in the sun or a bouquet of sunflowers that smelt like hope. Every girl he encountered he searched for just a little bit of you in them, their eyes or their hair or even their small mannerisms.
This was a mistake he knew it, he never should have pushed you away.
He loved you
And he needed to find you

SPIDER ROSE🌹🕷️
Father Miguel x Mother Reader
Warning: Mentions of death. Might need tissues for this one🥲
I got a request for this from someone, but it’s taken me a while to get around to it. Sadly the ask disappeared so I don’t know who asked for it🥲.
I hope you enjoy this one-shot.🥰
Wc: 6.6k
————————————————————————
The sky was a vibrant blue, and the sun was bright white as its heat beat down over Nueva York.
It was mid-morning on Saturday when your body felt ready to wake up. You took a deep breath as you sat up in bed. A smile graced your lips as you looked out the window from your brownstone. You looked down at your sleeping husband, arm draped over you. You leaned down and kissed his cheek, gently moving his arm from around you as you got out of bed.
A boost of energy you hadn't felt in a long time washed through you as you got up and dressed. You walked to the bedroom down the hall and gently opened the door. Your heart warmed when you saw the silly way your 8-year-old daughter was sleeping, snoring slightly, just like her father.
You then went to the kitchen, wanting to make a large breakfast for your husband and daughter's two bottomless pit stomachs.
When 30 minutes went by, you heard your husband waking up. You smiled when you felt arms wrapped around your middle and lips on your neck.
"Everything smells amazing, mi amor. How are you feeling today?" Miguel took a piece of bacon from the plate before you could smack his hand with the spatula. "I guess you have some energy today. I'm relieved to see it."
"Actually, I feel really great today. I haven't had this much energy in a while. We should do something fun today, like go to Coney Island. We can go on rides, play games, and go to the beach! And let's just let her eat whatever she wants today." You are suddenly turned around as your husband's hand caresses your cheek as you lean into his touch.
You looked up at him with a small smile, and he looked down at you with worry and fear in his eyes. "Y/n, maybe I should take you—" You placed your hands on his face to stop him from finishing his sentence, shaking your head. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes, and your breathing started to quicken. Fear started to fill the pit of your stomach.
"Honey, I don't want to. We've talked about this. Let's just have an amazing day together as a family. Please." You pleaded as you looked up at him with tearful eyes.
Miguel took a deep breath, tears threatening to leave his own eyes. His heart trying its best to stop it from shattering. He forced a smile to his face as he wrapped his arms around you, bringing you against him.
You wrap your arms around his neck, look up, and kiss his lips deeply, "Thank you."
Moments later, you heard your daughter wake up and walk into the kitchen in her cat PJs. You smiled lovingly at her as she yawned and rubbed sleep out of her eyes.
"Good morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep?"
You place a plate of waffles with a whipped cream smiley face, berries, bacon, and scrambled eggs on it.
You saw her brown eyes light up at the feast before her.
"Good morning! Yay! Waffles! Thanks, Mom." She hugs you tightly from her seat on the stool as you happily hug her back and kiss the top of her head.
"Of course." You smile as you make a plate for Miguel and you as you both sit across from your daughter.
As you eat, Gabi smiles as she sees her father give her mom a piece of his bacon and strawberries, which both her parents love to eat.
She looks at her mom, who gives her father a look only the two know before she kisses his cheek in thanks.
"Hey, Princesa, do you want to go to Coney Island today?" Miguel took the empty plates and put them in the sink.
"Really? Yes, yes, yes! I'll go get ready." Gabi quickly jumped from her chair and rushed to her room. "Don't forget to wear a bathing suit!" you yelled down the hall.
After getting ready and managing through traffic, you finally made it to Coney Island. Gabi excitedly runs ahead with you and Miguel, telling her to stay by your side since it was crowded and you wanted her to stay near you.
"Can we go on this one?" Gabi tugs on your hand as she points to the wooden roller coaster.
"Princesa, I'm not sure-"
"Of course we can!" You interrupt Miguel, who gives you a stern look. You take his hand and give it a love squeeze to reassure your very protective husband that you will be fine. Miguel sighs as he smiles.
"Alright. I'll hold your stuff while you two go on it."
You kissed your husband's cheek as he held the items. You and Gabi happily went on the roller coaster, skipping to the front because you bought fast passes.
As you get situated on the ride and it starts to move, you can see Gabi become nervous as she holds your hand and clings to you. But after that first drop, she became more brave, only needing to hold your hand.
After you left the ride, you made sure to purchase the photo taken while the two of you were on it.
"We look so silly!" Gabi giggled as she looked at the photo. You laugh with her as you see the startled look on both of your faces. You both returned to Miguel, who walked over to you when he saw you in the crowd.
"Dad, look!" Gabi shows Miguel the photo, bringing a wide smile to his face.
"So that's where I heard the screaming from." He chuckled.
"Ooo, let's go on this one next!" Gabi says as she pulls your hand again to move in the direction she wants to go.
After riding all the fun rides, you watched as Gabi and Miguel sat at the chairs with the water gun game. When the buzzer went off, they raced to see which stuffed bear attached to the machine would get to the top first. Of course, Miguel purposely messed up a few times to let Gabi win, as she jumped from her seat when the siren went off.
Gabi chose her prize: a medium-sized, bright blue stuffed animal, a cartoon cat.
"I'm going to name him Sky!" Gabi smiled as she hugged her stuffed animal. She then saw another game in which you use a mallet to try to hit the bell.
"Oh, Dad, can we win something for Mom?" Gabi said as she pointed to the other game.
"Of course we can." Miguel smiled as he winked at you, making you smile with tinted cheeks. Even after being married for 15 years, he still knew how to make you flustered. When it was his turn, he lifted the giant mallet and hit it as hard as he could. Even though his workout regime was a lot less than when he was in his 20s and 30s, his athletic build now, with a dad bod, still could make the bell ring.
After winning a prize, Miguel handed you a stuffed red rose pillow with a cute, happy face.
"Here you go, Hermosa." Miguel wrapped his arm around your shoulders as he victoriously kissed you. His prize for winning the game.
After playing every game possible and eating some carnival food in between, the three of you were now relaxing at the beach.
As you and Miguel watched Gabi play in the water, you leaned your body against him, feeling tired.
You forced your eyes open, the light stinging your eyes a bit, as you saw Gabi hold something up in the air that she had found in the water.
"Mom! Dad! Look what I found!" Gabi happily ran up to the two of you as she sat on the beach blanket, showing you two a beautiful clam that was still shut.
"Wow, princesa, that's a good find." Miguel smiled as he held.
"Can you open it? Maybe there's a pearl!" Gabi couldn't sit still as Miguel opened the clam with a kitchen knife brought for the picnic.
"Here you go."
"Thank you!" Gabi set it down on the blanket as she looked to see if there was a hidden treasure. "Look!" Gabi held up a beautiful white pearl before handing it to you to look closer.
"Oh, it's so beautiful, Gabi. Do you want me to make it a necklace?" Your smile widens when you see her face.
"Yes! Can you keep it safe for me, Mom?"
"Of course, sweetie." You put the pearl in your wallet so it wouldn't get misplaced. As soon as you get home, you will make her the necklace.
After spending a couple more hours at the beach, plus grabbing dinner at your favorite local pizzeria, it was time to head home.
You helped Gabi wash up after playing in the water and sand all day, and then she got into a new pair of pajamas. Then, all three of you got comfortable on the couch watching a movie.
As you were sitting there, you smiled as you heard Gabi's laughter from the movie, trying to imprint it in your mind while you made the necklace. You had taken a sterling silver chain from your jewelry box and made a hole towards the top of the pearl with a needle. You made sure to add stoppers so the pearl stayed in place.
You felt tired after the third movie credits rolled by. "OK, princesa, time for bed."
"Aw, OK." You stand up, take her hand, and walk her to bed. You chuckled when you heard her yawn.
You sit on her bed and help tuck her in for bed. As she sits up, you open your palm to see the necklace in your hand. "Here you go," you say.
"It's so beautiful! Thank you, Mama!" Gabi wrapped her arms around you and hugged you, to which you happily returned. A tear fell down your cheek, but you wiped it away quickly before she could see it.
"You'll grow into it as you age; that's why the chain is a bit longer now." You helped put the necklace on her.
You brush some of her hair back from her face as you take in every detail of her. "Sweetheart, you know I love you, right?"
"Yeah! I love you, too. Can you read me a story?" Gabi takes one of her books and hands it to you. You happily take it from her as you sit fully on the bed next to her, as she places her head on your lap.
After some reading, you notice she has fallen asleep. You carefully place her head on her pillow without waking her, kissing her cheek, "Good night, my baby girl." You look at her for a moment before you slowly walk out of her room. You turn around and look at her one last time.
As soon as her door was closed, you leaned against the door. Exhausted beyond compare, you lean your body on the wall, feeling like you'll collapse to the floor. Before you do, Miguel helps you by letting you lean on him. He was leading you to your shared bedroom; however, you stopped him and gave him a weak smile. "Can we sleep out on the terrace tonight? The sky is so beautiful."
Miguel smiled in agreement as he grabbed all the blankets, pillows, and comforters and brought them outside to the super-soft sofa bed. After making it comfortable, you and Miguel got cozy under the covers. He wrapped his arms around you as he pulled you against him.
"Thank you." You smile as you look up at him. Leaning your head forward, you place your lips on his. His fingers find their way into your hair as he deepens the kiss. You feel water drip on your cheeks. Once you pull away, you see tears fall down his face.
You gently wiped them away with a sad smile as he took your wrist and kissed it. His tear-stained eyes met your teary ones.
"I'm sorry."
"Please, Hermosa. Let me take you to the hospital so you can get treatment. Please."
"Miguel, we've talked about this. When we found out, my cancer came back, and my odds were not good even with treatment. I would have been barely able to get out of bed, sick and miserable, and still would have died. At least I could spend time with you and Gabi like normal. So that the last few months with me wasn't filled with memories of me being sick, but happy memories."
"But there was a small chance." Miguel barely said above a whisper as he began to shake a little, the reality of losing you coming to his mind.
"Miguel, look at me. The chance was less than 5%. Even the doctors were not hopeful. This past year has been an amazing one. And...And you and Gabi will have so many amazing years. Please, Miguel. Don't willow away when I'm gone. Promise me. You won't." You look up at him as your thumb caresses his cheek.
"I promise."
"OK. Now, let's end this fabulous day on a good note. Let this be...let this be a final good memory."
Miguel took your chin, lifting it as he kissed you deeply. Tears fell down your face as you wanted to remember the taste of his lips, the smell of his shampoo and cologne, and how beautifully they mixed together.
For the rest of the night, you talked about memories from the past twenty years—the five years you were college friends and dated and the fifteen years you were married, with eight of them being with your beautiful daughter. More tears were shed, and some laughs as well. You felt him one last time inside you before you ended up cuddling again, looking at the starry night.
Miguel had sworn he would not fall asleep, wanting every second left with you.
You smiled as you brushed some of his hair from his now sleeping face. Your eyes grow heavy as you fall asleep next to your husband.
You woke up to the early rise of the sun. You took a deep, shaky breath in the beauty of the various colors across the sky. Your gaze turned to your still-sleeping husband. If only you could see his beautiful brown eyes one last time. But you decided against waking him.
Your lips met his one last time as you whispered, " I love you, Miguel, in this life and in the next."
You looked to the sun one last time before a sudden wave of fatigue and peace you never felt before washed over you as your eyes closed, entering the eternal slumber.
An hour passed when Miguel's eyes opened. He looked at the sunrise before turning to look at you. The eerie stillness of your body made his heart skyrocket.
"Y/n?" He gently placed his hand on your face. His stomach dropped when he felt how cold your skin was. It was too cold.
"No...no, no.no, no!" Miguel sat up as he lifted your limp body and cradled you in his lap.
"It wasn't time yet. I wasn't ready. Please come back, mi amor. I'm not ready." His breathing couldn't be controlled as panic and pain filled his entire being.
He caressed your face as his forehead was on yours. Brown eyes staring into your closed ones. If only he could see your beautiful eyes one more time.
"Please, mi amor. Please come back to me." Tears fell uncontrollably down his face as he yelled out loud in pain.
...
Gabriella woke up late in the morning. She gently sat up in bed as she rubbed her eyes. Her lips turned into a pout, starting to feel grumpy as her mom usually came in to wake her up.
The house was eerily quiet except for her father's voice and Uncle's. She grabbed her stuffed animal she won yesterday and walked out of her room towards the sound of people talking.
When she entered the living room, she saw her father on the sofa, hands resting on his knees as his face was in his hands. He was crying. And next to him was her Uncle Gabe, who was consoling him.
"Dad? Why are you crying?"
Her father's head shot up as he looked at her with tearful red eyes. "Gabriella? What are you doing up?"
"Mama didn't come in to wake me."
Her words seemed to bring more pain to her father's face. "Gabriella come here."
She went to her father as he sat her on his lap. He wrapped her in his arms as he cried.
"Dad, what's wrong? Where's Mom?"
Miguel looked down at his daughter as he took in the features she had gotten from you.
"There is something that I need to tell you."
...
Gabi held her father's hand as she watched her mother's coffin get lowered into the ground. She looked up at her father, who had tears running down his face. This past week, since she found out about your passing, her father couldn't stop crying.
She couldn't stop crying, either. She missed you terribly—the way you held her, your smile, your voice, the way you comforted her when she was sad, like now. But now you weren't here to comfort her.
...
7 years later
"Gabriella! Come on! Get up! You're going to be late for school!"
Gabriella woke up startled as she heard her father yelling from the kitchen. She winced in pain as she got up too quickly. Grabbing her clothes to get dressed, she groaned out loud. She had stayed up too late last night.
After getting ready, she reached the kitchen, where her father passed her a plate with eggs and toast.
"Shoot. I'm going to be late for work. Are you going to be OK getting to school yourself?" Her father looked at his watch in panic as he quickly moved around the kitchen to find and grab his things. Gabriella's eyes went to the chain around her father's neck, dangling on it a wedding ring.
A painful ache covered her body as she looked at it. It was her mother's ring. Even though both she and her father have gotten the strength to keep on going after these seven years, it still feels like a fresh wound sometimes.
Sometimes, she would lie awake at night, tears streaming down her face as she looked at a picture of her and her mother together.
"I'll be home in time for dinner. Do you want me to pick up Ricky's Diner on my way home?" Miguel kissed the top of his daughter's head as she hugged him.
"Sounds good!" She said with her mouth full. Miguel chuckled as he looked at his daughter's silly face. Gabi smiled when she saw her father smiling. It's not that he hasn't smiled or laughed in a while; she just knew it was the only moment she knew her father briefly felt joy.
Before her father left, he stopped at the front door as he turned around, " Princesa, remember. Be home by dinner. N-"
"No later. I hear you loud and clear." Gabriella finished his sentence as she gave him an extra cheery smile.
Miguel chuckled, opening the door: "Don't be late. Love you."
"Love you too!"
After eating, she grabbed her bag and returned to her bedroom. She opened her window as she hopped out into the escape landing.
"Another day, another place to protect. Isn't that right, Mom?" Gabriella smiled as she looked at the pearl necklace around her neck with an additional piece. She opened up a silver rose locket as her thumb grazed over a photo of her mother.
She pulled the dark purple and light pink mask over her face before she stretched out her arm web, shooting from her wrist as she shot off into the skyline.
...
After a long day at school, which included skipping early when she found out there had been a major robbery, Gabriella swung through the city, almost falling and bumping into a few places.
It had only been 6 months since she was bitten by the radioactive Spider when she visited her Father at Alchamex.
Of course, she hasn't told her father, as he would worry to high heaven that she has been putting herself in constant danger. The only person who does know is her Uncle Gabe, who had accidentally seen her stuck to the ceiling.
She was on her way home with an hour to spare before her father would get home with dinner.
The radio earpiece went off: "Send all available vehicles to Alchemex HQ. A large explosion occurred on the north side of the campus."
Gabriella's stomach dropped as her heart began to beat a mile a minute. She shot out a web towards a building, turning opposite from the house.
Her father worked on that side of Alchemex.
Under the mask, her eyes widened as she saw the massive ball of fire and smoke coming out of the building. She found a way in through a broken window.
She coughed as a gust of smoke blew towards her. Running through, she saved anyone who was stuck or unconscious.
"Help! Please help me!" Gabriella heard a woman's plea as she made her way over there. As she turned the corner, she saw a woman trapped under a fallen ceiling...and a man in a white lab coat trying to lift it off her.
"Da- I'm mean, sir, let me help you lift it."
Gabriella stood by her father as she easily lifted the rubble, thanks to her super strength.
After the rubble was removed, the woman thanked you and Miguel before running towards an exit.
Her father turned to her as his eyes widened.
"What are you doing here? You need to leave immediately. This place is dangerous." Her father grabbed her hand as he tried to lead her out of the burning building.
"What do you mean. There was an explosion." She stopped, making him stop with her. "There could be others in there. Sir, you need to get out safely. I'll be fine."
She removed his hand as she was about to go further into the burning building when she heard a crack above her. Before she could register it, the ceiling collapsed, and everything went black.
Her head was pounding as they opened. She coughed as she slowly got up from the ground. Her body ached everywhere. As her vision returned to focus, she saw the rubble she was supposed to be under.
Her eyes widened as she saw a body lying underneath. "No, no, no, no!" She lifts the fallen ceiling off of him. She checked his pulse and sighed in relief. It was slow. She needed to get him out of here.
She grabbed his arm and hauled his upper body on her back, making her way out of the building as quickly as possible.
She laid him on the ground when she was far away from the building. Her eyes scanned to see how much damage was made.
He then coughed. "S-sir, you'll be alright. I'll take you to the hospital." Gabriella felt a hand on her face as tears streamed down it.
"No need, Princesa. I won't make it in time."
Her eyes widened as she heard the name her father called her.
"Princesa? Sir, I don't know what you-"
"I know, Gabi. I've known for a while." Her father removed her mask, showing her face. He brushed her tears away with his thumb.
"You'll be fine, Dad. Promise me you'll be fine."
"You look so much like her. She would be so proud of you like I am." Gabriella held her father's hand against her cheek as tears streamed faster down her face.
"Please, Dad. I can't lose you too."
"You'll be fine. It might hurt for a while. But I know you'll do great things one day."
"No, please don't say that."
"It's OK, princesa. No matter what, I'll always be with you and love you even if you can't see me."
"I love you too."
...
1 year later
Gabriella sat on the damp grass as her tired eyes gazed at the marble slab before her.
Here lies Y/n O'Hara and her husband, Miguel O'Hara.
Around the carved stone were pink roses, her mother's favorite, as she placed a fresh bouquet in the vase.
Gabriella turned around, surprised, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Her gaze briefly moved towards the man who resembled her father.
"You can't run away like that, Gabi. I was worried sick about you. You've been here for hours in the rain. You'll catch a cold. I promise we can return to see them once you get some rest and food."
She sighed as she wiped away her tears. "Alright. Bye, mom...Dad."
Listening to him, she reluctantly stood up from the grass, wiping away mud from her legs.
"You promise?" Gabriella asked her Uncle, the one her parents named her after. Her Uncle smiled and nodded, placing a hand on her upper back to guide her out of the graveyard.
They arrived at her Uncle's apartment, her home for the past year.
After washing up, she sat on her bed, knees tucked against her, and stared aimlessly at the picture frame on her bedside. It was a picture of her parents on their wedding day.
She heard a knock on her door, followed by her Uncle walking in. "Hey there, Gabs, I have your dinner here. It would really be great if you ate some of it tonight." He set the plate on her desk before standing by the doorway.
"Thanks."
"Is there anything you want to talk about? Getting things off your chest is better than holding them in."
Gabriella lay down away from her Uncle and whispered, "I'm OK. I think I just need to go to sleep. Good night."
Gabriel sighed, "OK. Good night." Before he closed her door, he walked to the sofa and sat down.
"I have no idea what to do, Miguel. What would you have done?"
...
When Gabriela finally woke up and got ready, it was midday. She forced herself out of her room to at least eat something since she hadn't eaten her dinner last night.
"Hey Gabi, how'd you sleep?" her Uncle said from the living room sofa as he sipped his coffee and watched the news.
"Alright. I'll try to get better. I promise." Gabriella took a bite of an apple.
"Hey, don't worry. You have gone through a lot for just a 16-year-old. The only thing I want is for you to be able to try to live as normal of a teenage life as possible." He smiled at her, to which she returned a small smile. "Speaking of not-normal, the news says there is a disturbance by the Brooklyn bridge."
"Shoot!" Gabriella rushed to put on her suit. Before she jumped out, her Uncle yelled, "Please come back home safe!"
"Will do!" She shot her web out as she headed towards the bridge.
When she arrived, she saw people and cars trying to escape the scene as the vulture was creating havoc. But when she got closer, she noticed it wasn't 'her' vulture, which was hard to register in her mind.
The new vulture threw a car off the bridge with people in it. Luckily, Gabi shot a few of her webs out to save the car. Taking all her strength, she pulled the car back on the bridge. A man and a woman rushed out, and the woman went to the back to get something. When the door was closed, she saw it was a little girl. The sight made her heartache.
"Thank you so much Spider-Rose." The man said.
"Of course. Now, please get to a safe distance."
The man then guided his family away as Gabriela went to deal with this weird vulture.
"Hey! Why are you ruining everyone's day today? And it's a bright blue sky and sunny, too." Gabi dangled from her web in front of the vulture, who was freaking out while flying.
"Are you made of clay? Like, what are you?"
"Where am I? What is this place?"
"It's Nueva York?" Gabriela laughed as she swung about and tried to stop the vulture. But he got out of her strings.
"Nueva York? It's New York."
"I think you must have hit your head or something, man. Maybe you should take a chill pill." Gabriela chuckled as she tried again to obtain him. She failed again as he slammed her against the wall.
"You're starting to annoy me." He pushed her more against the wall, which started to hurt her head.
A weird warping noise appeared in the air, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw a weird orange portal open.
A woman in a white and pink suit flew towards her. And did she see a web-shoot from the woman's wrist?
Within seconds, the vulture was thrown off her, knocked out, and captured.
"I didn't think that would be over so quick. This guy is a pretty weak vulture."
Gabriela stared at the woman in awe. The woman noticed as she walked over and offered her hand, "Hi, I'm Gwen."
Gabriela shook her hand. "Gabriela, but everyone calls me Gabi. You're like me."
Gwen chuckled, "This is your first time meeting another Spider-person?"
"I didn't know there were others like me."
"Oh, there is an infinite amount! It's so cool! We have an HQ and everything, and we go on missions to help save the multiverse."
"The multiverse? I thought it was only a theory."
"I haven't seen a spider like you before. You should totally join us." Gwen said as she opened a portal.
"Really?!" Gabriela's eyes widened in excitement as she smiled underneath her mask.
"Sure! I don't see any reason why not? It's weird going through the portal for the first time. But you'll get the gist of it."
As Gwen said, going through the portal was nauseating, but the feeling disappeared as soon as she saw the beauty of Spider HQ.
Everywhere she looked, there were Spider-people. Knowing she wasn't alone brought tears to her eyes.
An older Spiderwoman in a black and red suit walked up to you and Gwen, not happy.
"Girl, You're in big trouble. Recruiting someone? You don't have the authority to do that." The woman scolded Gwen.
"H-how did... this just happen," Gwen asked, astonished that Jess already knew.
"it was Lyla. You're wanted at his office. Both of you. The name's Jess, by the way. It's nice to see another spider woman, even though it wasn't done through proper protocol." Jess glanced at Gwen, who had taken her mask off.
Gabriella decided to keep it on while trying to dry her tears.
"I know it wasn't done the right way. But she has amazing talent! She has to join! Plus, I know you will be on board once you see her skills!" Defended Gwen.
"Well, since you didn't follow protocol, it's not up to me to decide anymore."
Gabriela couldn't contain her excitement as they walked through HQ. She really hoped she could join, and she thought being here could help heal her pain.
They entered a large office filled with projects. Her eyes turned toward an orange glow. A series of computer screens hovered over a large desk where a very large man stood.
The lenses in Gabriella's mask widen when the man turns around.
She thought she was going to burst into tears. It was her father. But a younger version.
"Gwen." He said with a stern voice.
"I know I'm sorry. But my gut was telling me to bring her here."
"You know the rules. I expect you to follow them." The man who looked like her father walked closer.
He really did look like him. Except his eyes were red. He was definitely younger, maybe in his late 20s or early 30s. He was larger than her father, which was shocking as he was already a large man. It must have been from the Spider's DNA.
"She shouldn't be here." He looked towards her, her father staring at her like she was a stranger, which she had to remember that she was.
"Miguel, honey. They're just kids. And everyone makes mistakes. So give them a break."
Gabriella breath hitched when she heard your voice.
It was her mom. It was really you. She hadn't seen you in years. All she wanted to do was run into your arms, but she knew you weren't 'her.'
The woman walks over to Miguel, whose face turns to a loving smile as she wraps around her waist.
"Alright, mi amor. I will."
Gabriella smiled. They were married in this universe, too. Maybe they had a version of her back home that they adored and loved.
Gabriella's breath became uncontrollable as she couldn't handle seeing them anymore.
"I-I'm sorry." She rushes out of the room and goes somewhere where she can be alone to cry.
Little did she know that in you and Miguel's worlds, you had lost your Gabriella. Before joining Spider Society, you were a single mother from a one-night stand. It was your world's Miguel, but he was an asshole. So when you met Miguel at Spider HQ, you assumed he would be the same. Of course, you were very much mistaken as you got to know him. He was only sad after he had lost his version of Gabriella when the world collapsed. Your world collapsed, too, so you live full-time in Miguel's world with him. Of course, now married. But your Gabriella had died long before from an outbreak of a virus.
You gave Miguel a stern look, thinking he had upset the young Spider. But you, being the mother you used to be, ran after her.
Gabriella sat in a corner of the dining hall so that very few others could watch her cry. Maybe she shouldn't be here. Seeing her parents' faces and not being able to run up and hug them would be too much.
"Hey"
Gabriella's head shot up when she heard your voice. You sat right next to her and placed your hand on her back to console her.
"I'm sorry if my husband was rude. He means well but sometimes doesn't show it in the best way."
"No, it's OK. It wasn't that...I saw something that brought up some sensitive memories of my past."
"You know, sometimes it's good to talk things out instead of keeping them locked in. It always helped me," you smile at her.
Gabriella's heart ached from those words. Something her mother would say to her. "It's pretty weird..."
"Trust me. I've seen some pretty weird things." You chuckle, remembering the time you had a mission with the Spider T-Rex.
Gabriella exhaled a shaky breath as she took her mask and lifted it off her face. Her brown eyes took a long pause before looking at you. Your eyes were wide as your gut dropped, and your heart lifted as you placed a shaky hand on her cheek.
"Gabriella? I-I've never seen a version of you as a Spider. I-I've rarely seen another version of you at all. You're older than my Gabi." You pull her into a hug. Gabriella couldn't resist as she wrapped her arms around you, tears streaking down her face.
"I never thought I would see my daughter grown up. She was so young when she died."
You smiled as you looked at your 'daughter.' "
After all these years, I never thought I would see your smiling face again."
"I didn't think so either about you."
Her words made your brows furrow.
"Both my parents are dead. My mother died from a relapse of cancer when I was 8, and my father died last year from saving me from an explosion at his job." Gabriella bit her tongue as she tried her best to hold back her tears as that aching pain began to throb in her heart.
You held her in your arms longer than you realized as you heard large footsteps walking towards you before coming to a sudden halt. You looked up with a happy smile as you saw your husband's shocked face.
"Miguel, our baby girl, came back to us."
Miguel took a few steps forward, not believing who was before him. He fell to his knees before Gabriella, and she couldn't help but wrap her arms around him as she cried louder. Miguel wrapped his arms around her as he combed the back of her hair to calm her down. You go on your knees as you hug her, too, again.
Gabriella cried out loud, as did you and Miguel, not caring what scene they were causing. Miguel kissed the top of your head and Gabriella's as he smiled down at his family, once all broken but now brought together through the mysterious wonders of the multiverse.
"I've missed you both so much. I felt so alone without you."
You and Miguel exchanged a look as if you were communicating with your minds as you smiled at your daughter.
"I know we aren't your parents. But if you wanted, we would love to spend time with you." You wiped away her tears with your thumb.
"Does that mean I'm in?" Gabriella looked at you and Miguel with joy and excitement in her brown eyes.
" Of course." Miguel smiled at her.
" I know I'm not your daughter-"
"Gabi, no matter what universe you're from. You will always be our daughter."
Your words melted away Gabriella's walls and warmed her heart as tears threatened to spill again as she hugged you and Miguel.
...
A month later
"I can't believe in another universe you also tripped into the pond in Central Park on your guys' first date. That was always a funny story my mom would tell, embarrassing my father to high heavens." Gabriella laughed as she placed another dish on the dining room table.
Miguel chuckled as he finished plating the rest of the food from the pan. "What can I say? I was on a date with a beautiful woman and was a little nervous."
"A little? Really, honey? You're in front of family. You can admit you were a nervous wreck on our first date." You laughed, getting a playful glare from your husband in return.
"Ah, I remember my brother walking into our shared apartment drenched to the core after the date but still walking in through the door with a goofy grin." Gabriel laughed as he sat down next to his niece. Gabriella almost spit out her water by her Uncle's comment as she tried to hold in her laughter.
"Did that happen to you too?" She looked up at Miguel.
"Yeah, it did. I thought I had ruined the date, but when I got out, and Y/N kissed me and said she couldn't wait for our second date, I was over the moon happy." Miguel smiled as he looked at you, took your hand, and kissed your knuckles.
Gabriella smiled as she looked at her new family sitting around the table. She looked at her necklace, which now had a photo of her father on the other side of the locket. Gabriella's heart felt a warm sadness wash over her. She smiled to her self. She was finally healing.
As she looked up at the younger versions of her parents talking with happy smiles across the table from her, she thought:
'Mom...Dad. Thank you for helping me find my way back to you.'

__________________________________________________
★彡 SHOW OUT
summary: miles is a simp in private but when he gets in-front of his friends.. he’s a different person
a/n: hope this is okay!! because I can’t see miles genuinely being like that if it’s not to show out in front of his buddies.. I went a lot off request sorry..
_________________________________________________
MILES MORALES ISN’T SOMEONE TOXIC…
let’s make sure we get that straight across right now, he isn’t a toxic man.. just someone who’s been so cold and nonchalant for so long.. he doesn’t know how to make his tone match his feelings, hell he doesn’t even know how to voice the feelings he has much anymore.. but there is one thing that is well known to those he let’s see all the layers that make up.. miles gonzalo morales.
there are more than people think. but we aren’t here to get into the layers of miles morales, but more so.. how he acts when his girl isn’t around. you see, miles is what they call a ‘ fake gangster’ while he grew up in brooklyn and a lot of crazy stuff happens on the streets; when he saw that, he’d run the other direction. he was never a kid who was all about that gangster lifestyle
while he sagged his pants occasionally, and put up gang signs he didn’t even know the true meaning behind, with his friends, mind you. some of his friends actually rolled in ‘ gangs’ that honestly just consisted of teenagers trying to act harder than they actually were, was miles in this so called ‘ gang’ ? no. not by choice, he was a dumb teenaged boy, while he was smart.. a extremely intelligent actually; he still had this thing in the back of his head, something that told him, that this was all he was gonna amount too, because society hated men like him. they hated men of color, holding the stereotype of being in a gang over black & latino men’s heads.
he hated it, he hated it more than he could ever imagine and that’s when the stupidity came in, he always said no to drugs.. to drinking when it came to peer pressure, especially if people he didn’t know were trying to pressure him into it, but when it came to doing what these other fake gangsters, who also grew up in a loving family.. while miles lost his father, that’s true, it changed him..
that doesn’t excuse the way he’s ruining his future, the way he’s rolling with the wrong crowd, his mother & uncle have tried to talk him out of this.. he’s too attached to these so called ‘ homeboys’ some who.. miles didn’t even know their actual name.
worst part of all, miles was ashamed to show off his girlfriend in ways his mother had raised him to show off a woman. while he still did it, he made sure to post her on accounts that were private, that had no indication they belonged to him.
while he called her ‘ his woman’ to his family, and to her face. behind those scenes she was ‘ his bitch’. so, just imagine the poor girl’s surprise when her loving man turned into a hood rat who disrespected her within a matter of minutes..
___________________________________________________
“ hey miles!” one of the young boy’s friends called out to him, miles head turned; a look of panic on his face as he had his arm around his girlfriend, [name]. he never wanted to let those two worlds collide.. he never wanted them to.. he swallowed the nervousness and pulled back from his girl, dapping up his friend, “ aye man.. whaddup?”
[name] gave him a weird look, he never talked like that in front of her and his mother.. in front of his uncle? she didn’t know.. the answer was probably.. she was never around for long when uncle aaron came by.
the friend’s attention turned to her..
the wondering eyes was something that [name] didn’t like, it made her fold her arms over her chest. “ who’s this little lady?” the friend spoke up, his tone was dripping in what [name] thought was either flirtation, playful, or some other kind of tone.. she didn’t wanna decipher it, she had a ma-
“ chill…that’s my bitch..” the way that b word left miles’ lips, it left his tongue so naturally.. like she had been addressed like that before, it was enough to pull her out of her thoughts.
oh hell no..
she furrowed her eyebrows at him, “ who’s a bitch?” she looked around, trying to figure out who he was talking to, because it was honest to god was not her.. “ babe-“ miles started, but her face scrunched up, “ nah.. nigga tell me, honest to god.. who’s the bitch?” the pit of anger was bubbling up in her stomach, she was usually able to wait until she was in a private place so she could calm down and maturely handle the manner.. but now, she didn’t know why.. she just couldn’t.
maybe it was the fact this was her man..
who she expected to respect her, in front of everyone, the man who posted her every second he got.. the man who had her face as his profile picture on Instagram, twitter, tiktok, and even fucking facebook.
but.. the boy who had just disrespected her in her face.. and in front of his friend! embarrassed her in front of her own two eyes!
“ yooo… get your girl, miles.” the friend.. who she still didn’t even know the name of spoke.
“ uh uh..” [name] was fuming with anger, if she was in a cartoon, smoke would be coming out of her ears, “ don’t talk to me like that you fake gangster ass nigga, you don’t be in these streets! your curfew is six pm.” she made sure to check her man about his disrespect, “ you don’t talk to any woman like that, especially not your girlfriend.. which I am.” she put her foot down, a frown on her face.
“ h-hey.. don’t talk to me like-“ miles started before he looked at his friend, and then his pissed-off girlfriend, he pressed his lips together and shook his head.. a friend he didn’t even know the name of wasn’t worth his relationship, “ I’ll catch you around..” he spoke to his friend, who looked more confused than anything. “ uhm.. yeah..” the friend spoke, before walking away.
miles was more.. embarrassed than anything, he knew he deserved the feeling; he knew that much.. he just disrespected [name] in her face.. something he knew triggered her. “ [name], honey I’m sorry,” he spoke as he turned to her
“ nah.. don’t be sorry now.. go back to being a a young blood, a slime or whatever you niggas be doing out here! “ she spoke, the anger clear in her tone.. it was clear in her body language and the way she looked at him.
“ baby.. mami, im sorry.. what if I get you a refill on that dior perfume you like?”
“ where you gon get the money for that?”
that’s when he stayed quiet, he did get a few bucks here and there from the jobs working with uncle aaron, but he couldn’t tell her that!
“ yeah, exactly.” she pointed her finger in his face before she walked off.
__________________________________________________
“ awww…” [name] spoke, miles had just came through her window, holding a bath & body works bag, along with a sephora one.. he didn’t tell her what he did to obtain enough money for this.. but it did include going on more jobs with uncle aaron than he wanted too, he usually mostly did this to help the hospital his mom worked at, to help scrub the streets of New York.
what was he even doing trying to be in a gang, anyway? that wasn’t who he was.. why was he trying to enforce the stereotype he hated so much?
“ ma, im sorry.. i mean it..” he had given her space, he hadn’t talked to her for nearly two weeks at this point, “ I shouldn’t have done that dumb ass shit, ion know-“
“ I don’t..” she corrected.
miles stared at her for a moment, and sighed. [name] was always tryna correct somebody.. she did that shit to be funny.
“ i don’t.. even know why I was rolling with TJ and ‘em. I’m sorry mama.. I will never disrespect you like that again.. or at all.” his eyes showed the sincerity behind his words, she always stared into them just to make sure he meant his apology.. every single time he did.
[name] sucked her teeth, before checking the bags, seeing what they contained.. the bath & body works ones were full of her favorite fragrances and lotions, while the sephora one only had her favorite dior perfume.. was she complaining? hell no.. she loved to smell good.
“ okay… but if you ever call me some sort of bitch again.. ima fuck you up”
miles chuckled at her threat, “ yeah.. [name] I hear you.. loud and clear.” he spoke softly, leaning down to kiss her cheek, a smile making its way to [name]’s face. a giggle leaving her lips. “ you better.” were the last words she spoke before she pressed her lips against his.

genre/warnings: fluff, friends to lovers, i wrote this sleepy i hope it's decent and I don't remember other warnings idk and i wrote it listening to wicked game by chris isaak (so good
note: thank you for your request! I'm sorry i didn't explored the fact of reader being a spiderhero :( if you want one like this specifically please tell me!! hope you like it <3
sinopses: you like your best friend, could it be mutual? actually you're too afraid to find out and instead of confessing you surprise gwen with a gift
for a unknown reason, the patrolling on your city was chill, boring even. you swing between the buildings, analysing every alley you pass by, and nothing was going on, making you stop and sit at a rooftop to look at the horizon. you were feeling lonely lately. gwen was busy with some mission miguel gave her, and you were just taking care of your people.
you missed her, more than you should as the last time you've seen each other was like, 4 days ago, but time was passing agonizingly slow, making you anguished for not being able to talk to your best friend who you liked more than one.. but no one has to know it, right? as long as it stay a secret, your friendship with gwen is safe. but it's not a secret, at least not for hobie, and pavitr, not even for miles. but hobie was the first one to notice your lovesick stares and smiles. you couldn't help to not develop feelings after knowing gwen for almost two years.
just as the thought of her intoxicated your mind, a blip from your watch make you jump a little, taken by surprise, and it's her calling. you quickly adjust your hair looking more presentable. "hey!" you say as you answer the call.
"hey pretty" she replies, with a soft smile on her lips. "what's up? are you busy?" she asks, making your heartbeat increase with just her voice and the thought of being with her again.
"no! no... i'm agonizingly bored, actually" you chuckle, a little embarrassed she was so busy these days and you basically did nothing but chill and punch some purse snatchers. "i miss you, y'know.." you say out of the blue, you couldn't help yourself.
she smiled and you could almost see a tint blush on her cheeks, before the call ended. you were left with just the wind, strands of hair flying with it. you low your head, chuckling humorless at your stupid statement, starting to regret it.
"no need to say more" you heard from behind, making you turn around to see gwen standing, taking off her mask as she smiles adoringly at you. "i missed you too..." she stated, voice a little lower, like she was shy to admit it.
you are quick to stand up and hug her, burying your face on her neck. you feel her tense up at your touch, but seconds after she relaxes and hug you even thighter. you could be like that for days, inhaling her scent and feeling the warmth of her embrace.
before what felt like a amount of time, you shyly back up from the hug, taking a good look at her face tinted with redness. "sorry, i got a bit carried away" you say, breaking eye contact. she mentally thanked you didn't get to see her face got even redder. "why would you be sorry?" she said with a giggle, bumping your shoulder with hers.
you two got a minute staring at the view of the city lighting up with the street lights, as the sun was already set. it was a beautiful view you got to see everyday, but today it looked even prettier, maybe because you have gwen with you.
"actually, i want to take you somewhere" you are quick to take her hand on yours, guiding her to your left side, letting go when you jumped between more buildings. "follow me!" you shouted, voice filled with joy. she obliged and jumped right behind you, shortly joining your side. "what do you got for me, hm?" she asked, her silhouette being hugged by the city lights, making her looks even more heavenly.
"can't tell, or it'll ruin the surprise" you giggled after stating, getting faster to where you were taking gwen. it didn't took long until you two got at what looked like an abandoned place. you quickly got to the ground, gwen following you shortly after.
"excuse me lady, are you trying to kidnap me?" gwen asked playfully, looking at the façade of the building. "I don't know... am i?" you furrow your eyebrows with a grin on your lips. "come on, you can run if you don't like it"
leading the way, you go inside the building, it really was abandoned, but gwen didn't doubt your choice of place, continuing to follow you inside one of the rooms. you opened the door, waiting for her to pass beside you. "i was exploring around here and i found out it was an instruments store... they didn't take eeeeverything.. so i kinda made you a drum"
okay, it wasn't the best instrument ever because first, you didn't know shit about drums and second, it was all different parts of different drums, but with a little help from internet you were able to make a playable one. gwen was silent for a moment, making you look at her and she was completely mesmerized.
"no way, y/n. no way-" she looked at you, her eyes were shining, and your heart started racing so fucking fast- next thing you felt was a crashing encounter of lips. your eyes widened as you realized what was happening. gwen just kissed you. gwen was kissing you right now. your mind started to work again as you kissed her back, your hands going to rest on her waist.
it was a quick kiss, as she leaned back, afraid of making eye contact, looking at the drums. you continued to look at her, hands still resting on her waist. "gwen" you called. still silence and no eye contact. you were burning inside, so scared it might end everything right here, right now. "gwe-"
"i think i've fallen so hard for you" she was now looking directly at you, her voice so soothing and sincere you almost passed out right on. "i'm sorry for kissing you so suddenly and i- i get it.. if you don't feel the same but i- it is the sweetest thing anyone have ever did for me-"
now it was you who kissed her. both hands going to hold her face, the kiss so filled with passion and softness. she instantly reciprocate, letting her arms hold around you in a warm hug. this one kiss was more comfortable and confident, and as it finished you hugged her almost instantly.
"thank you, really" she said, voice muffled in the hug. you nodded while giggling, proud of your creation. "will you teach me how to play it?" you asked playfully, but not entirely, as you were really interested on how gwen played such a complex instrument.
"what if i don't?" she teases, chuckling. "then I'm not giving it to you!" you state while laughing.
"too late!" she finally got off your hold to sit on the stool and get the old drumsticks laying on the floor. "that next song is for my girl" she playfully said as if she was in some concert, poiting at you, then she started playing and humming head over heels. oh she's going to kill you, but first you joined her to sing the lyrics.

Hey there! Can you do a Miguel x spiderwoman reader where during a mission Miguel accidentally hurts you pretty badly while trying to get you out of the way of the anomaly, leaving you in a medically induced coma for a couple days while you heal? I wanna see an incredibly gentle, guilt-ridden Miggy visiting you when you wake up and treating you like you’re made of glass
Calling (just to save you, I'd give all of me)
Miguel O'Hara x reader Oneshot
Words: 6.06k (yeah i know)
Warnings: Graphics depictions of Violence, Angst, Blood and Violence.
Summary:
A mission gone wrong, some crying, more suffering, rocky relationships (emphasis on the rocky part)
And after all of it, you prevailed. With him.
Tl;dr: Miguel is a crybaby
It was a normal Tuesday night at the headquarters. 11 pm to be exact.
God knows why you stayed as long as you did—having to juggle missions upon missions the entire week because Miguel decided to loosely throw them at you.
Capturing what seemed like an endless sea of anomalies.
“You’re our most capable.” He had said, not even facing you when he once again sent you off on another job to fend for yourself.
Trying to ask to be replaced was met with a sounding “No.” from the big guy himself, so you stopped trying altogether.
Less questions, more work.
Even if the side of your ribs were bruised from the last encounter with a previous anomaly.
Whatever. Bringing your injury up would just have you end up being demeaned and insulted like a school kid who skipped last week’s homework. At least that was what you assumed.
You grew tired of it eventually, wanting to have more than 6 hours of sleep per day and being able to actually live your life—the birthday cake for a friend sat comfortably inside the fridge of your apartment lingers on your mind as you swung through the familiar sight of the city; another rendition of New York, another variant of an anomaly.
That wasn’t to say you didn’t enjoy the thrill and adrenaline that came with the job—no, you loved it. No one ever told you how fun being a superhero can be (aside from the decades of trauma you had to go through) and being able to propel yourself into the air with webs as the people below you gawked at your presence.
The New York breeze hit your figure like a welcomed embrace, the moon winked at you behind fading beds of clouds. You continue slingshotting yourself down the streets, deja-vu splashed in your face with how eerily similar the roads were to the ones back home; shaking your head, you let out a soft sigh and relish in the cold night’s wind.
Today’s mission: an unknown entity that plagued Earth 1610, the only information you were given via a loosely thrown together email from Miguel was that the entity could possess powers greater than we all understood—but with a limited amount of time, you would (hopefully) capture it just in time before it discovered its full potential.
You’d think with how smart the boss-man was, he wouldn’t send a sleep-deprived Spider into such missions with how severe things could turn if everything went wrong.
“I’ll send him an email to complain later, for sure.” You promised yourself; because you were supposed to do just that days ago when tasks started rolling in for you without breaks.
Solo-tasks, might you add.
A cherry on top of the already spoiled cake, salt on the wound, a slap to the face. You grunted, and an alarm sounding from nearby caught you by surprise amidst the (somewhat) quiet of the city. In the snap of a finger, you flung yourself in a different direction, changing the tides in the waves while the wind that hit your face came to a halt once you landed on a roof belonging to a rather tall building.
The viewing angle from above gave you a clear look into what had transpired underneath.
You squint, arms folded neatly in between your thighs as you crouched over the ledge of the building; from what you could see, nothing was amiss—everything looked to be in place. Letting out an annoyed scoff, you were about to turn on your tail before the ear-piercing sound of glass shattering into pieces hit your eardrums.
You immediately snapped around, and panic ensued when the people on the streets started screaming, running amok like wild animals scattering away into their safe spaces. You, on the other hand, now have to clean up the mess—you had no clue where this universe’s Spiderman was, nor did anyone brief you on it.
Nonetheless you approached the bust-up shop with a wavy heart, praying to something out there that there weren’t any critically injured persons. As you stalked near the front of the shop, you could hear loud banters inside; curious, you stare into the messy excuse for an interior: broken decors, smashed up shelvings, and items sprawled out across the floor inside.
You took the opportunity and shot yourself up to the ceiling, both your soles and fingertips clutching onto the surface, cautiously crawling further into the shop.
“Please—” a voice yelled out, “Just let me steal your ATM machine!”
Your lips part, dumbfounded.
“No! Ey! Get away from—” You finally managed to grasp the scene that played out in front of you.
The store manager was running around with a bat in his hands, and the other person that seemed to be wearing a costume with black spots, a jean jacket slung over his shoulders and a rather cute bucket hat. To your surprise, the man evaded the attack when a black hole had been summoned under the manager’s feet, causing him to fall into the portal and out of another one…
…Right above you.
You yelped at the sudden contact on your back, the manager’s weight had you both falling face first into the shards-filled floor; his body cushioned by yours.
“Oh for fuck’s sake.”
The man behind you rolled off, allowing you to take a step and collect yourself as you slowly stood up. Debris started filling up your senses, and the pain from having been cut by thousands of glass shards made you wince in response. You pushed it all down, needing to finish the job as soon as possible so you could flee from more missions when you go back to the headquarters.
You even considered retiring from your spot in the team.
Speaking of spots…
You peered up, eyes catching onto the odd appearance of the man in front of you, who was still attempting to find a way to escape with the ATM. If you hadn’t been as irritated and grumpy as you were, you’d have found the situation hilarious.
“You gotta let that go, big man.” He whipped his head around, eyes darting around before locking in on you. “I’m sorry, I can’t—wait, you look different from my Spiderman.” His head tilted in confusion; you only rolled your eyes in retort, not wanting to drag your already long day out. Webs shot out of your wrists, launching them toward the direction of his foot.
Watching in disbelief as another hole appeared right where his foot would’ve been, the webs flinging into the black void and you felt the substance land on your back, knocking your balance forward.
“What the,” confused, you feel around for it, your fingers finding the source, tracing the substance behind you. “How did you fucking do that?” You glared him down, seeing his stature falter and hands thrown up into the air in defense.
“Whoa whoa, language!” He wagged a finger at you, giving you his head shake of disapproval.
“Shut up.”
“That’s just plain rude, young lady—hold on, you’re a lady right?” Your eye twitched in annoyance.
“Has anyone ever said you’re way too chatty?”
He was fidgeting with his hands, looking away and feeling nervous, unsure of how to respond to your jab. Before he could get another word out, the bottom of your feet connected with his chest, sending his body back against the wall with a loud ‘thud’ watching as he fell on his backside.
“Oof.”
He let out a soft grunt, rubbing the sore spot on his butt; right before you did a chain-attack, he caught your foot with another one of his black holes, your foot now appearing on the other side of the store and out of sight.
“That wasn’t very nice. Listen, I just need some money, let me go and—” He threw the ATM onto a pile of cans and started rolling it out of your way, pushing the huge machine as fast as he could. Pulling back your foot in time, your calf connected with his face, making him trip over the cans comically with his arms flailing in the air.
You quickly reached down to fetch your trap to secure your win.
That would be too easy, though.
Side-stepping a portal of void that almost ate you up, you winced at the pain that shot through your ribs due to your rapid movements. Biting through the pain, you maneuvered to where his body laid and tackled him to the ground once more when he tried to stand up; from then on, it was a cat fight. With you trying to get him detained and him attempting to pry you off of him.
Suddenly, another hole manifested beneath the two of you, watching in horror as you both fell through and landed harshly on top of the rooftop you originally occupied prior; the back of your head collided into the concrete ground; a poor excuse for a cushion.
It fucking hurt.
You were pretty sure you smelled blood.
He tried to get up, but you tumbled the two of you near the ledge of the building; in the midst of all the actions, he found dominance over you when he had your upper body hanging off the ledge with his grip on the collar of your suit. Blood thumped through your eardrums along with the loud horns of traffic, your heart racing in a million miles, if anyone looked up, they'd think you were insane for getting yourself in the situation.
Maybe you are.
Call for backup.
It would be so easy; the gizmo hugged your wrist, just one push of a button and someone will be here—
Too late, his grip on you wavered and you plummet into the air.
Fuck.
You quickly attempt to shoot more webs to find purchase on something, anything.
But terror washed over you the second you realized you had conveniently run out of webbing fuel—being the dumbass you were, you had completely forgotten to get it refilled before the mission at the station back in headquarters.
Closing your eyes, you braced yourself for the impact; your body going limp to soften the blow.
You let out a loud yelp when something flew out of the air beside you and clashed against your body, but you don’t feel the shock at the contact—instead, the warmth of a large arm wrapped around your midsection and you feel the cold wind whiplash you.
Opening your eyes, you were (pleasantly) surprised to find that Miguel caught you just in-time, right before you could suffer any more blunt injuries. You almost cried at the sight of him, his name teased the tip of your tongue, wanting to wrap your arms around him for a hug; you pulled yourself back just in time before you could react on your impulse.
You were still mad at Miguel, you have to act like it.
Before you know it, he came to a halt around a corner into an alleyway and swung down to place you down gently on the ground, your feet now free from the feeling of being dangled in the air. His eyes flickered over your face, then down your body; his arm still pressed into your waist as he squeezed your flesh out of instinct.
Bad move, the squeeze, no matter how gentle, pressed into your bruised rib. The pain sending a wave of shocks throughout your torso, you immediately pushed him away with a small hiss. You couldn’t see it, but hurt flashed through his eyes when you forced yourself out of his grip, his arm falling back to his side; unknowing of its purpose.
He wouldn’t willingly admit it, but the rare moments he would get to feel the heat of your body against him sent him to heaven: like that one time your shoulder pressed into his at the cafeteria, the times your naked fingers would brush over his skin, when your back used to press up on his during missions back in the days he went with you. Sinfully, he would recall that specific time your chest pushed into his torso during a stealth mission, the temptation to take you right there and then a devilish thought that circled his mind.
(Don’t ask what he had done in the shower after the mission debrief.)
That was part of the reason he had stopped frequenting jobs with you, even when you came into his office and invited him; you were met with rejections after rejections, soon enough, he noticed that you stopped trying—and the painful gnaw at his chest reminded him of your growing distant attitude with him, too. Miguel refused to let his personal life interfere with his business, and the last person he would want to hurt was you.
Unknowingly, he had done exactly that whenever he would gradually push your presence away.
Having meals weren’t the same anymore, not when you stopped showing up to his office everyday with his favorite food like a routine, he’d eat less and less as the days passed by; without you there to continuously pester him, he found himself reverting back to his old habits—working after late hours, not sleeping enough, not eating enough, barely talking to anyone unless absolutely necessary.
He had came to the realization that somehow, long ago, your presence had become such a grounding part of his life; the gentle yet persistent reminder that he deserved love and care too, to stop hogging all the responsibilities alone and share his burden with someone who he can trust, and it all manifested into you.
Miguel recognized he royally fucked up when you both barely see each other face-to-face anymore, you stopped showing up to debriefings, the only time he’d get to remotely speak to you was when he sent you off to missions.
He knew he was harsh, yes, but he fully believed in your capability to handle yourself—but while he was relentless, he still cared.
Hence why he arrived and interjected your mission, wanting to extend a helping hand.
“Fuck—what are you doing here?!” You shouted over the loud traffic, emotions taking control of your mind, before Miguel could protest, screams broke out from beside you both. “Shit, let’s get this over with, big man.”
You paused, momentarily forgotten that your webbings ran out of fuel and mentally slapped yourself in the face.
As if he read your mind, he fished out a tube from behind him and threw it your way. You caught it just in time and practically rushed to throw the lid off, tipping the mouth over to allow the liquid flow into the web gadget integrated into your suit. You threw a mumbled “thanks” his way and chucked the tube out of sight.
“Come on,” you nod toward the opening of the alleyway with an arm raised and pull yourself upward with your web.
It was supposed to be an easy job: brawl with the anomaly, win the brawl, capture it.
But this one was starting to grate your nerves—and you were sure Miguel felt the same too, you could sense the rage radiating off of his huge stature like sirens; chasing down the guy who had re-introduced himself as the Spot when you caught up with him earlier, unintentionally finding himself falling in and out of accidental portals he materialized.
“Stop running!” Yelling, you proceeded to jump into the portal he went through, he was always barely a hair away; yet as clumsy as he was, managed to get away every single time.
“Stop chasing me!” Spot shouted back, tripping over the back of his foot and almost falling into one of the portals entirely.
He managed to barely swerve out of the way when Miguel lunged at him from behind, his claws swooping in the air where Spot used to be. It became a constant back-and-forth; you would shoot yourself closer to him and Miguel would come from his back, essentially cornering him, then Spot would narrowly escape; rinse and repeat. Exhaustion crept up on you eventually, nagging the back of your mind as you tapped into your adrenaline to stay awake and alerted of your surroundings.
Miguel noticed it, too, and he went even harder—the intensity of his ferocity grew when he realized he had to end things soon before someone gets injured; he prayed to God it wouldn’t be you.
Somehow, more portals had opened up, and all you could do was avoid falling into them; the possibility of coming face first into the asphalt roads were too high for you to take the chance. Miguel almost got caught in one; hardly dodging a portal that conjured on the wall he stuck to. But unlike you, he was willing to test out his theory, reeling his body back to prepare launching himself into the portal. And he did just that—his reward? A high-five of his face with another set of walls.
He grunted, out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted you latching onto Spot’s back; desperately trying to push him down onto a solid surface. You both spun into another portal and crashed on a different rooftop, Miguel rushed over with claws ravaging the innocent bricks he crawled on; when he went up, he saw the two of you gasping for air on the ground.
You clutched the side of your rib, an indescribable amount of pain overtook your senses; you were pretty sure your ankle was broken when it was caught on a pole. Spot got up earlier than you, and was about to speed off before he felt a large hand tugging at the back of his shirt.
It all happened so fast: reeling in a punch, the adrenaline pumping in Miguel’s veins, Spot’s utter shock at the face of Death himself, the supposed impact of the fist with the other’s face…
…Only for the force to be directed to you in the heat of the moment when a portal happened to manifest where Spot’s face would’ve been.
It was an accident, really, an unintentional line of actions from Spot— he was way too out of it when he figured he was about to go through his final moment; his portals shot out in panic, lucky for him, it was the reason he evaded Miguel’s death fist.
Unlucky for you, the other end of the portal had been right in front of you the whole time; yet in the midst of you processing your surroundings, you hadn’t realized quicker that your senses were screaming for you to dodge out of the way.
The conclusion? You, having just been punched in your guts, falling down a building amongst the New York you shouldn’t have stepped a foot in if you knew the outcome at all. The gust of wind pumped in your ears as you fell, and fell.
No worries—you’ve got your handy-dandy webs, right?
Oh how you wished you hadn’t been wrong.
Miguel had snatched a random refill off of his own shelf when he was about to depart, not bothering to check for its content after his recent use; just shy of a quarter, barely enough to last an average Spider’s fill an hour of webbing. In his defense, he had been distraught when Lyla popped in earlier to warn him of your vitals: most specifically your injuries. He would’ve never sent you out in the first place if he knew you suffered from broken ribs.
But all you knew was that you somehow fucked yourself over.
Panic ensued.
And now, you suffered the consequences of his actions.
“Miguel!” A call for help; he was your last hope.
The fall wasn’t a particularly long one, and you normally would breeze through the impact and pain like a champ—except you have never fell from a building with ribs that squeezed your organs tight, ankle that would most likely not support your landing even if you tried, the adrenaline you lived off of now benched on the side leaving you stranded for some form of strength to pull yourself together in the span of a few seconds.
Your shoulder hit the ground first, then your head; the harsh impact created a string of reactions to your already abused body: pain shooting up your nerves, the corners of your eyes dimming despite the bright lights flashing around you.
Unbeknownst to the three of you, policemen started showing up once someone reported a supposed break-in at the shop you investigated; the sound of blaring sirens filled your eardrums like honey whilst the flashing of red and blue assaulted your blurry sight.
Barely able to distinguish what was happening in front, you attempted to prop yourself up on your elbow; but the more you tried, the more lights started diminishing in your vision. Breathing has never felt so difficult, either.
Miguel was a step too late when he came to you; after having realized what had occurred, he dropped Spot in an instant like a hot potato, prioritizing saving you instead of proceeding with the mission’s objective. He was aware of the policemen being present at the scene when they started noticing your slumped body in the middle of the road, crowding together to watch as you struggled to lift yourself up—they all stood and observed, no one reached out to help, none.
He was by your side right away, his one hand supporting the weight of your head while the other clutching at the hem of your mask, lifting it over your eyes.
His hand felt…wet.
As if things couldn’t possibly get worse: he watched the stiff expression on your face contorted with pain, you seemed to have recognized him as you slowly reached a weak arm out to caress his face, your thumb gently glossing over his cheekbone, your touches light like feathers. His mask concealed the despair in his features, the hues of red and blues still shone on his back as everyone else stayed aside and spectated.
Your hand soon dropped to your side, unmoving, your head now heavier than ever in his hand.
It wasn’t supposed to end like this.
Miguel held your small, delicate hand into his, the tears teasing the corner of his eye as he watched your life slipped by those eyes of yours he’d grown to adore.
-
“You can’t live like this, Miguel.”
Lyla crossed her arms over her chest, trailing Miguel’s tiny movements on the desk. His fingers delicately move across the keys on the keyboard, imputing password after password for locked files.
“Seriously,” Lyla sighed, rubbing her temple. “You’re starting to worry me.”
“Nothing to worry about, Lyla, get me the decoded files from yesterday.” Miguel ignored her pestering, choosing to focus on his work and his work only.
That was his routine for the past 5 days or so.
After the entire slip-up in Earth 1610, Miguel had been busting his ass to hunt down the anomaly for every hour he was awake; granted, he did take care of other responsibilities too—babysitting Mayday on Monday, depatching teams to bring back more anomalies, and visiting you every day.
And also dealing with that kid he found out to be the Spider-man from Earth-1610.
He hadn’t missed a single day of visiting you, who still laid in the hospital bed at the infirmary he cleared out for you.
Everyday. On the clock. 5 am when he woke up, when lunchtime struck, and in the late hours of night when he should be spending on getting enough rest.
Lyla had been there through it all, watching Miguel’s tormented back every single minute he was awake as he continuously starved himself off of the bare minimums.
Food, water, sleep, you name it all.
And as his assistant, his well-being was her number one priority—hence the constant pestering that would be swatted away, food that went cold despite Peter having brought them in hours ago upon Lyla’s request and his growing concern for his friend in the chair. Jess’s occasional visits to check up on Miguel, wondering if the day she stepped in would be the day she would see his lifeless body on the desk with how much neglect he reflected on himself. Even the new recruits dropped in to say hello, just to see that he was doing…okay in his book: which was not okay in everyone else’s.
Everyone was worried.
About you, of course, and him too.
The situation had clearly taken a heavy toll on him.
But Lyla understood more than anyone else that it wasn’t because of his work, his dwelling traumatic past, or how he barely had any rest for the past 120 hours.
No one else knew of his infatuation with you except for her—and that was only because she snooped through his things, finding the little knit-knacks he kept from all those times you came and dropped it off: the tiny Miguel plushie you made when you impulsively decided to take up knitting that one time, the shirt of yours you had forgotten to take back when you visited his office at late hours, soaked from the rain outside and sneezing everywhere.
“Hey Mig—“ sneeze. “I came to see y—“ sneeze. “I—“ and you sneezed.
“For the love of God,” Miguel turned around, seeing your soaked clothes that cling to your body, and having to turn away for just a tiny moment to compost himself when he caught sight of your curves.
Groaning, he pulled out one of his drawers and shuffled through and fished out a new shirt—undoubtedly his with how large it was.
His shirt was a sight on you, fitting perfectly yet still draping over your thighs just slightly when you went to get changed.
The image of you that night burned into his head, forever engraved in his brain.
Then there was the polaroid picture of the two of you when you had forced Miguel to “take a selfie with me!” when you picked up a weirdly shaped camera from a thrift store in your universe (something something you saying to be smart and conserve money). “It’s called InstaX, it—here, let me show you” and snapped a picture.
In the picture, his expression was one of annoyance, and you were squeezed against his shoulder with a toothy grin on your face.
Lyla saw how Miguel would come back with tiny frames that he thought would frame the film perfectly, but ultimately was defeated when he decided to just stick it in-between the pages of his files labeled: Classified.
She was the only one ever to know the content inside: mostly pictures of Gabriella’s (poor) baking, first day at school, when Gabriella won her first competitive soccer match; and then there was you.
She knew how important you were to him; yet to her complete and utter confusion, Miguel always kept to himself about his little (big) crush—even though she could clearly tell you were just as interested as he was, too.
He was the densest man you had the pleasure of knowing.
He never made a move; and now, he might never get another chance to.
Now you were reduced to a sitting duck, once a shell of what you were; your body laid in the bed he frequented more than his own, the lively demeanor that you carried with you before turned into a tune of stable heartbeats beeping from the machinery installed next to you: the only indicator you were still alive.
Guilt was the only thing he knew for a while; when he’d step into the shower as the cold water bit the skin of his back, like he was willingly punishing himself for allowing that incident to happen.
Everywhere he went, whatever he did, he was only reminded of your face.
“If only I had been there sooner.”
He’d say to himself while he peered down at your figure, not there but, there. You were barely hanging, and part of him knew that it was your determination to fight through whatever battle was going on inside your head during the coma.
“Por favor,” his hand held yours, careful to avoid the IV’s that pricked your skin, forehead sticky with sweat after having just come back from a specifically tough mission that day.
“Concédeme este deseo.”
He would whisper sweet-nothings to you, praying to himself at night by your bedside that you’d wake up one of these days with that smile he yearned for. And for someone to finally share the extra empanadas he would always bring in, to hope that one day, you’d get to share this joy with him.
The joy of eating together again.
So imagine his surprise when he walked into your room tonight, and found you sat up with the metal frame supporting your back.
You were awake.
And most importantly, you were alive.
He had never sprinted so fast in his life; the warm pack of empanadas he brought from the cafeteria drop to the floor, the gentle ‘thud’ catching your zoned out self by complete surprise, your face softened once your gaze landed on Miguel; who was frantically patting your face and checking your vitals to confirm that yes, you are here.
Your hand reached up to palm his that lingered on your cheek, his eyes finally settled on you, slowly taking in the fact that you were now right there in front of him.
“Miguel,” a small knowing smile tugged at your lips, your eyes the most gentle he’d ever seen. “It’s okay, I’m right here.”
He was still so afraid, so afraid that you would just slip by his fingers again; so he held onto you for dear life, fingers gripping your one cheek and hand with the others.
“Estoy tan contenta de que estés aquí,” You whispered.
A soft quiver of his lips; barely there—that was when the dam broke, and his tears started flowing down his sullen cheeks.
You panicked, wondering if you had butchered your Spanish so bad you shamed him to tears.
“I’m…I’m sorry?” You tilt your head in confusion and worry. Miguel only shook his head, a small chuckle emitted from him; as if he knew what you had been thinking.
“Don’t be sorry, silly.” He looked up at you with those earnest eyes of his; ones that melt your heart and warm your soul. You’d taken a liking to him early on; though you weren’t sure when it started, only where it started: during a mission, when the two of you grew physically close, so close.
His breaths fanning down your face, your breathing grew heavy with each and every second; that was when you knew you were in too deep.
You would know it’d take heaven and hell to pull you apart from this man.
There he kneeled, lips on the back of your hand as his thumb gently caressed your cheekbone, enjoying the way hues of red spread out on your cheeks.
There was no way of escaping it now: the pent up tension of a confession teasing the air around you both, and soon, one of you was bound to crack.
“I have something to tell you—“
“I have something to say—“
Only that you both did it at once, together.
Miguel stared at you, lips slightly parted with the ghost of his words and eyes widened, then he cracked into a fit of roaring laughter—and you joined in.
Laughter filled what was once a room only occupied by the sound of your heartbeats on the machine, the two of you clutched each other’s hand, the high soon dying down to mere giggles; as if you two were high-school sweethearts with muffled chuckles thrown at each other in the back of the class.
You two were in your own little world, a bubble that secured around your bodies, forever molding the shape of what once was and what will be.
Wiping away the happy tear in your eye, you stared at Miguel’s devilishly handsome face, and the gorgeous smile you oh-so-rarely get the privilege of seeing. The muted rhythm of his chest rising and falling, in sync to yours, like two lovers on the dance floor—not even the sky could stop your love for each other.
“I love you.”
You blurted out; sure, you were 98% certain Miguel reciprocated your feelings, but that small node of anxiety still tugged at the back of your mind, terrified that you misunderstood his gestures all these times.
But wouldn’t the words he whispered to you during your sleep be all washed away if that was true?
It was a risk, and you took it; it was now or never.
“I—“ Miguel stammered, his heart screaming at him to just lean in and—
—kiss you.
His lips were nothing like you’d ever imagine; it was all the best parts multiplied by infinity: soft, full of all the love he had to give, and passionate.
The kiss lasted for what felt like eternity—part of you wished it did, and you’d be content to die like this, your lips forever engraved on his.
Miguel swore he heard the choir sung to him, albeit with crooked notes; but maybe because he did.
He slowly turned around, and you, who also does the same.
His colleagues had been quietly watching all this time from behind the doors: Peter with Mayday in tow as she cooed at the sight, Jess and that motherly smile of hers—Miles, Gwen, Hobie and Pavitr all stood with heads peeking through the gap of the doors. Even Lyla was there, although she simply floated over Peter's shoulder, joining in on the choir; their mouths agape with barely harmonized tunes of a holy song slipping out of their mouths. Amateur at best, unbearable at worst.
Pavitr carried with the vocals, as always.
They only stopped once they realized they had been caught; thinking that you two were in too deep to notice that there were more guests coming.
“What…are you guys doing here?” Miguel asked, his tone more of a threat than a genuine question.
“We got some food—“ Peter perked up, but was instantly cut off by Hobie.
“‘o watch some sappy romance, ‘ey boss man?” Hobie high-fived Lyla's glitchy hologram, the latter wearing a smirk too wide for her face and nodding aggressively.
“Do the shoulder trick!” Miles yelled out; Gwen looked at him in horror then back to Miguel, this time, it was her who was shaking her head aggressively while crossing her arms into a giant X shape.
Miguel snarled at Miles, not appreciating the cheesy suggestion of a pick-up line while everything went so well for him before they all busted in.
“Remember to host a Sangeet bro! Oh Gayatri is super good at doing Henna—“
“Hey I wanna be the flower girl!” Gwen piped up.
“No, Miguel told me long ago Mayday would be—“
“She’s not even old enough, Peter, can she even throw a fistful of flowers?” Gwen crossed her arms in protest.
“I’ll have you know she’s an extremely capable baby, right, Mayday?” Peter looked down, only to see that Mayday had once again been chewing on his pink robe like always, blabbering with spit foaming at her mouth.
“Oh Christ—“ Jess chuckled at the absurdity of the sight, a hand on her hip and the other tracing soothing circles on her belly; just as Miguel had been doing it with your hand the entire time.
Miguel pinched the bridge of his nose, a frustrated sigh knowing that the special moment between the two of you had been ruined by a bunch of nosy gremlins.
Your hand went up to remove his hand from his face, and even with how (incredibly) noisy the room became with banters and bickering thrown around; it was all quiet with him, only the stable heartbeats of you both reached your ears.
For once, your life was complete.
Miguel glanced into your eyes, the adoration swarmed your orbs; behind them, he could see far into the future where you both exist, always beside each other like glue to a paper—with you on his hips and his on yours.
And at last, Miguel had found what he had been missing from his life.

the swan and her princess (part 1)
summary: Swan Lake isn’t all beauty and grace, contrary to popular belief. And you experience firsthand that as you wage a one-sided war with your “rival” for the role of the Swan Princess, Odette.
pairing: Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman) x fem!Ballerina!Reader
word count: 842
warnings: uses of Y/N, lots of ballet terms and references, the teacher displaying blatant favouritism ig?, mildly petty reader 💀
a/n: I finally got around to doing it! yay :D academic rivals to lovers ftw honestly
gearing up for my first official chapter-based fanfic WHOOOOOOOOO
dividers by me btw! it’s my first time doing dividers so any feedback would be appreciated <3
part 1 // part 2 (pending)
glossary:
Swan Lake: Swan Lake, Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. It is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The ballet is based on a German fairy tale, and tells the story of a prince named Siegfried who falls in love with Odette, a princess who has been turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer
Odette: Odette is the main female protagonist in the ballet "Swan Lake," which is composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. She is the White Swan, also known as the Swan Princess/Swan Queen.
Anna Pavlova: Anna Pavlovna Pavlova was a Russian prima ballerina of the late 19th and the early 20th centuries. She was a principal artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet and the Ballets Russes of Sergei Diaghilev. (basically, every ballerina’s idol)
first position: In the first position, the heels are together, with toes turned out until the feet are in a large, open V or a straight line.
relevé: Relevé is a French term meaning "raised up." It is one of the basic ballet moves. The dancer starts in a demi-plié (a move where the dancer bends their knees halfway while keeping their feet on the ground) and then rises up into demi-pointe (on the balls of the feet) or en pointe (on the toes), either on one foot or both feet.
“Let’s take it from the top, Y/N. More turned out this time. And your ‘wings’ aren’t flowy enough. You are the very Swan Princess, not a struggling cygnet. You die gracefully.”
You blew air threw your nose a little more forcefully than you usually would, trying your best to follow your ballet teacher’s instructions.
“Ah, Gwendolyn! So nice of you to join us.”
That statement was usually used sarcastically in most settings. So why did your teacher’s voice take on a note of adoration? You resisted the urge to roll your eyes, not even looking at the new arrival. All she ever did was drop into class half an hour late - without even doing her hair in a proper bun - and get showered with praises for everything she did. Always Gwen this, Gwen that. You were so sick of it.
“Gwen, if you decide to try out, you would be a perfect fit for the White Swan,” Your teacher eagerly told her, and your ‘flowy feathers’ tightened into fists. Just brilliant. In her eyes, you had no chance at Odette, did you? Once again, Gwendolyn Stacy would swoop in and snatch up something you had worked so hard for, spending hours upon hours on late nights at the studio practising alone, all because the teacher thought she was the next Anna Pavlova. But every time, you bit your tongue and kept your head down. One day, you would show them. You would show them all how good you were. And little Gwendolyn Stacy, the number one teacher’s pet, would watch and weep.
You cleared your throat to jolt your teacher out of her rambling. “Miss? My audition?”
She blinked as if she were just noticing you. “Ah, right. Yes, you may continue.”
You were ready to hurl your pointe shoes at both of their annoying faces, but you focused on making yourself extra turned out and extra graceful. Oh, how the tables would turn when you got this role.
You risked a glance out of the corner of your eye and noticed with a smug satisfaction that Gwen was staring at you, eyes wide. Completely enthralled.
Ha-ha, Gwendolyn Stacy. Look upon actual, hard-earned talent and despair.
You finished the Dying Swan - the Swan Lake piece you were doing for your audition - and bowed, standing in first position with your head held high.
“Thank you, Y/N. That was very nice. Everyone, let’s get started. Get your shoes on and get into your positions at the barre, please.”
Ugh, the barre positions. Your arch-nemesis, apart from a certain Gwen Stacy. Well, maybe not apart from her, since your barre position was right in front of her.
“One, two, three, four - hold, two, three four…”
You tuned out the voice of your ballet teacher; the exercise was purely muscle memory to you by now, and her voice was only distracting you at the moment.
“Hey, Y/N.”
You were pulled out of your intense focus by the voice behind you. Once you realised who it was, you had to resist the urge to scoff. “What is it?”
“I, uh… I just wanted to say that you did amazing. It was very graceful. You’ll make a good White Swan.” That almost made you lose your balance in a relevé and twist your ankle, because what?
Gwen Stacy thought that you’d get the role?
Oh. That was new.
Or maybe it wasn’t, and you were just imagining the whole ‘undeserving slacker’ thing and painting her as the bad guy…?
You almost giggled at that. Nah. This was definitely some ploy to get you to relax a little, to stop practising almost obsessively. Yeah, she was just trying to ensure you weren’t a threat. The moment you let down your guard, she would snatch up the role of Odette. You just knew it. Well, she could try all she wanted; you would not make it easy for her.
“Oh, I know,” You replied coolly, ending the exercise with everyone else and turning to offer her a politely bored smile. “But thank you.”
Gwen’s smile dropped a little and her eyebrows scrunched together slightly, her piercings glinting in the studio’s warm light. “Okay, well… I’ll see you around, I guess.”
She reached down and grabbed her duffel bag, unceremoniously dropping her teal pointe shoes into the mess of clothes and who knows what else she kept in it.
You kept your eyes on her until she disappeared out the studio’s door after a quick goodbye to the teacher. She was like a ghost, always appearing and flickering out just as quickly as one. And somehow always getting away with it, every single time. Not to mention… she was also somehow really good. Despite missing classes and coming late.
“Remember, class. Now that I’ve seen all your auditions, the roles will be up next week. Don’t be late,” your teacher called as you all left the building.
You kissed your teeth in annoyance. Yeah, don’t be late. Unless you’re Gwen Stacy.
Good grief, that girl would be the death of you.

Hobart “Hobie” Brown x Spider!Fem!Reader
Author’s Note: I just want to sincerely apologize for the delay in this post, as I have been traveling out of my hometown the past few days. However, my favorite punk is still my current brain rot lmao. The second installation is already in progress, and hopefully as I have planned, it will be out by the date I posted below( after the conclusion of the first chapter). Thank you all for for love you showed on the series announcement! As I have stated in my earlier post, I haven’t written a fan fiction in over two years, dealing with school and other things in life. Please express your thoughts throughout the series and comment! I was a little nervous because I’ve never written anyone from the UK, especially with such a thick accent. Please, share your thoughts. Thank you for your understanding, and you may begin reading.
With Love,
— Turquoizxe.
Installation (1/5) : ‘Dodgy’
Rating ― Mature (17+)
➝ Hobie has been distancing himself quite a bit lately. You feel froggy enough to follow him and enter the world, to what is known to be the Spiderverse. He seems to enjoy your brave gesture, but he quickly realizes why you weren’t invited to join the club.
𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 ―fluff, heavily plot based, meeting existing ATSV Characters…
𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 ― ATSV SPOILERS! Minor use of language and swearing, romantic tension, minor acts of violence, Hobie’s teasing, Miguel being himself, Beef w/ Jessica Drew…
𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 ― 3.6k
Dodgy; can be a synonym for dangerous, bad or untrustworthy
As much as you kept to yourself, it was hard to imagine that you would make any friends outside of your suite mates. Your eyes were always harassing a piece of literature, involved in extracurricular activities, and keeping track of random facts no one would need in their everyday lives. Nothing short of the perfect student.
"[Name], this is the fifth time you’ve been in my office in two weeks-”
“Okay, four if you don’t count the rant about my psychology professor.”
You were always an academic achiever, graduating with honors and holding the title of salutatorian in your class. Being accepted into your dream school, earning enough scholarships to cover most of your tuition.
Yet, here you were, looking for ways to save your grades with finals around the corner. Had it been a year ago, you wouldn’t have to worry. That was until you were bit by a radioactive spider the one time you decided to skip studying and attend the most underwhelming frat party that your suite was raving about.
“You’re on the verge of losing your scholarships. $25,000 a year on the line, and you tell me all the time about how hard to your parents are working to cover the rest of your tuition.”
And you knew you couldn’t afford to stay if you didn’t work your ass off to pull through. You didn’t think being spider-woman could be so stressful. Patrols have gotten more hectic, and the late nights have been affecting your attention span in class, and even less energy to do your work. It felt so easy in the beginning, and everything was good until it wasn’t.
You felt a sting on your cheek, your tears sliding past your injury from patrol, and you felt yourself become small as you placed your face in your hands, wondering how something you’ve worked so hard for is a letter grade away from being lost.
Your counselor heaves a heavy sigh, sliding tissues across their desk to you. In just a few weeks you went from acquaintances to friends.
“Look, you’re a great kid, we didn’t have this issue your freshmen year. I know it only gets tougher from here, but you can’t fight this on your own. It’s never too late to accept help.” They started typing on their computer, ringing up your transcript and current grades for the semester. A sudden swish of wind flows through the office, following the trills of birds off in the distance your counselor scoffs at the noise and walks over to close the window. They return back to their seat, muttering intelligible, the only word you could pick up, ‘spiderwoman’.
“What about spiderwoman?”
“Oh! I just kinda thought how weird it was for another spiderman to show up when we already have a hero. Funny, I didn’t know there could be multip-”
“There’s a spider-man?”
You stammered. You felt a heat in your body, another superhero here that you weren’t even sure about.
“As much as you know about everything, I thought you would hear about the spotting of a spider-man in the city. They seem to stick close to campus.”
“Any proof?”
“No. Just words, but if there’s one spider-person, why not two?”
You could feel your blood course through your veins from the new information. It was just you, unless your old mentor, Peter, came to visit. You were knocked out of your thoughts when your name was called.
“As of now, you have a 2.0,″ your counselor stated. “Your classes seem more work oriented, and out of your five classes, you only have two finals.”
You slowly looked up from your lap.
“I’ve read the syllabus, taken notes of what to study for and what to work on. It’s just-”, you stammer, not able to give them the honest truth.
“See? You already took the steps to better yourself, don’t stress, and pace yourself, you have a month left kid.”
You let out a small chuckle. More than 20 missing assignments shouldn’t be too bad to juggle, right?
You were lying to yourself, you were going to suffer, but for a positive outcome, you didn’t mind. You got yourself together, sniffling softly as you packed your things.
“I don’t wanna kick you out, but I do have to meet with the Dean-”
“You mean your lov-”
You were cut short by a small stuffed animal flying towards you, your reflexes doing you justice before the soft material made contact with your face, slamming the door, gaining a small audience as eyes turned to you.
“Sorry everyone.”
Now, for the real fun to begin, you can at least spend some time with a special someone before your academic weapon tendencies are in full force.
The night you met him, it felt like one of those nightmares that would be impossible to wake from. To you, it was a dream.
His aura, and appearance on that stage. You were enamored with his attitude. His thick accent, strumming his guitar as his eyes bored into yours. This was one of the few times you didn’t mind that you skipped class for.
After the concert, you went to refill your water bottle before your walk back to your apartment in the damning heat. You saw him, drenched in sweat, guitar on his back, hunched over, and visibly upset that the water fountain was not doing it’s job. He looks in your direction, his expression making you anxious. Yet, you were still willing to help. You essentially escorted him to your dorm, where the water system was in a decent condition. He had pretty strong opinions about the education system and society in general, though you did appreciate his intellect.
“It’s a load of tosh for ya’ to pay so much for a piece of rubbish.”
The ways he seemed so sure of himself more often than not made you intrigued, and he was more than happy to indulge you, being nearly distracted from the fact that Satan decided to sit his bare ass cheeks on the Earth that day. He gave you his number, and from then on, he would come see you whenever you both had the time, which was rough, considering the current mess that was your life. He was the only person you felt cared enough to step you out of your comfort zone.
The night walks on campus, your medusa piercing that he compliments all the time.
“It accentuates your features. Peng ting you are, yeah?”
Your eyebrows furrowed, a deep chuckle erupting from his throat
“Means you’re hot.”
He gets it. He gets you. And sometimes, you thought that maybe what you were feeling would never go away when you’re with him. Your hangouts were more often casual, leading to more intimate moments, mentioning him to your family, and him teaching you how to play his guitar. You began to feel it linger, when you knew you both didn’t want to say goodnight.
The immediate thought of it also breaks you.
You’ve felt that he’s been dodging you and your attempts to reach out as of late. It’s been weeks since you’ve last seen Hobie, and this time, he initiates to meet. It’s late in the night, and he’s late. You couldn’t remember the last time you were this mad at him, or if you ever got upset with him at all. You didn’t like how he started to drift away with no explanation, and instead of anger, you were filled with worry, wondering if the time you were spending together was beginning to put a strain on him. You paced around your living room, muttering words and contemplating sending an annoyingly long paragraph of a text that would make it seem like you were dumping him.
“S’mitten for me, are you love?”
You looked up at your window, the tall brit leaning on the emergency stairs, making himself at home as you pulled away.
“In your dreams, Brown.”
He walks up to you, his lanky frame hovering over you so expectantly. You looked down at your feet, almost embarrassed of your newfound feelings, and you feel even more giddy when he stands close to you. He knew that you liked him, but teasing you was his second favorite pastime besides hanging out with you. You walked away to your kitchen, grabbing an energy drink for the both of you. Silence did not exist when you were together, and the awkwardness of it all was not helping. He bit his lip, his teeth caught in his piercing. He knew he was in trouble.
“I know you’re upset.”
“Hobs, you were supposed to be here 2 hours ago, I understand being busy but I thought you were seriously hurt or something”, you exclaimed, turning away from him. Showing up late was a recurring issue with him, and you’ve had just about enough.
“Oh don’t get cheeky now. You’ve been neglectin’ your studies. A bit daft if you ask me.”
You’re eye twitched at his use of his slang, sometimes you didn’t always need him to explain to know that what he was saying had negative connotations.
“That’s none of your concern, it’s you I’m worried about.”
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” he smirks. There wouldn’t be a point in arguing with him about this, handing him his drink, turning on your television, starting the episode of your favorite series where you had both left off.
You sat farther away from him than usual, occasionally glancing in his direction, and unfortunately, he was staring right back at you, even more intense.
“I don’t bite, unless ya’ ask,” he teases, softly patting a seat closer to him, and you oblige. It wasn’t like you weren’t happy to see him, and he chuckles at your annoyed compliance. It was becoming an awkward staring contest, and you quickly lost track of the media playing on your screen. You open your mouth, just out of curiosity.
“So, how’s life treating you?”
“Fighting fascists, new piercings, performin’, ” he looks over to you, taking another sip of his drink, awaiting for a life update on your part. You bit your lip, anxiety getting the best of you. Despite the closer proximity, you still felt to far away from him. He sighs, using his leg to move your body to face him. You quiver, tears threatening to spill from your face once again, but you still looked up.
He looked at you, seeming nonchalant, but you still felt the worry in his aura.
“I know you want me to squash it, but it’s obvious s’omething bigger is bothering you,” he softly speaks, his thumb circling into your knee. “You act as if you’re scared of somethin’— of someone.”
Hobie scoots closer to you, using guiding your chin to make you look at him directly for the first time tonight.
“Talk t’me.”
You shake away from him, that feeling in the pit of your stomach only becoming more intense.
“I can’t tell you everything, Hobs.”
“But you can tell me anythin’, yeah?”
You look up, his face was close to you now, not realizing that you were nothing leaning into each other the more you spoke. His hand, slowly sliding to your hips, slowly stroking your stretch marks that your shirt wasn’t covering. You looked into his eyes, a small smile showing.
“There she is,” he exaggerates, giving you a soft squeeze, and you let out a giggle. The moment was yet again, cut short by that annoying ass beep from his wristwatch, that has interrupted your meaningful conversations countless times. Hobie curses from under his breath, backing away from you, the light illuminating his flawless features. And just like that, the moment has passed. His eyes look up to you, disproval in your expression, and you knew what was coming next, so you did it for him.
“Just go.”
Hobie let out a deep sigh before apologizing for what felt like the thousandth time, knowing he would do this the next time you make an attempt to make time for each other.
But this time, you were going to figure out why.
—
As soon as he had left, your senses went off. And this was the last time you were going to ignore them.
You had quickly went off into your room after he left, frantically throwing around your belongings to find your suit before Hobie got too far from you. You had followed him, all the way to an one of the abandoned buildings on campus that was currently under renovation. You stood behind a slab of concrete, peeking from the side, watching as he walked through a portal as if it were just another day.
But you saw, and now you knew. Your suspicions proved you right once again.
You flicked your wrist, webbing into the portal before it closed in on you.
And now, there you were, caught by Hobie after catching your ankle so you wouldn’t plunge to certain death after following him through his portal, seeking nothing but a dark abyss before you, seeming bottomless.
You turned towards him, a smirk plastered across his face.
“I fuckin’ knew it.”
You webbed free from his grip, finding ground. You looked at his appearance, and now you knew why he wore such familiar colors. Your suit hugged your body, adorned in your favorite colors, riddled with black accents. Hobie looked you up and down, whistling in admiration, while you took in your surroundings. HQ did not look like this at all when you first arrived.
“Place look familiar?”
You had brushed yourself off, taking in the countless people that had suits similar to yours. The unique design of the interior, and many, many, familiar faces.
“The Spiderverse.”
“Hey I call it the same thing!”
You turned in the direction of the speaker, a young boy standing in front of you. He had a black suit, red accents riddled across, two other spider men following behind you, staring at you in admiration.
“I’m Miles!”
You were still floored by all that had occurred in just a few moments. Slowly, you raised your hand, waving to the kid, smiling at him.
“Hi Miles, I’m [Name].”
“Oh, Hobie! Did we get a new recruit?”
A spider woman in a white suit walked up behind him, her pink hair flowing, and eyes that could manipulate a way to your heart.
“I’m Gwen, and this one here Is Pavitr!” Both greet themselves which such joy to see you. You almost felt as if you were back home, introducing yourself to who seemed to be Hobie’s colleagues. You expected him to be upset with you for following him, or keeping your identity as spiderwoman a secret, or vice versa. Yet, he’s seeing you in a new light, a personality that didn’t exist in your world. You would only ever smile like this if it was truly something or someone you cared about. You both would know that.
“Alright kids, follow me!”
The voice felt all too familiar, the oozing confidence in her demands making you cringe instantly, and you turn to see no other than Jessica Drew herself. You stared blankly, a sigh of irritation, your bubbly personality disappearing almost instantly.
“Jessica..”
She started at you, her face turning into a small scowl before turning back around, motioning the group of teens to follow her, but not before throwing a day pass in your direction. It was hard for them to pay attention when they were too focused on your sudden change of demeanor. Hobie walked beside you, brushing against your hand to catch your attention.
“What’s the tea with you two, ey?”
Your side eye is critical when you look towards him, signaling that you didn’t want to talk about it. He grunts before shrugging it off, still walking close to you. You watched Miles as he introduced himself to everyone, completely enamored with his surroundings. All that you could conclude from this, is that he was new. But while he was looking at everyone else, they were all looking at you. You heard the mutters and whispers amongst them as the HQ went into a deafening silence. You could feel Hobie’s gaze on you, sliding his arm around your waist for comfort.
“Piss off. Go back to what you were doin’.”
Quickly, they did what they were told, but you could still hear the voices of some conversing about you. And Hobie could hear it too.
“I didn’t think they’d let her come back.”
“Maybe they caught her sneaking in, they did say she never gave her watch back.”
He looks to your side, still silent as he watches your body tense up from their words. Maybe he wasn’t the only one acting dodgy.
You look ahead, looking at the lair that belongs to the man you used to call your boss. You felt Hobie release his grip from you to catch up with Miles, watching closely as he walked around him, fidgeting with materials and grabbing small objects. The young teen seemed stressed about something, making you just as anxious. You heard him expressing his frustrations about not having a watch, Hobie suggesting to Miles that he make his own.
You had forgotten how big this room was, and you wished it was longer by the time you got to the main event. He descended from his pad, multiple screens could be seen, one of which you could see showed your last conversation with Hobie at your apartment. Miles and Gwen walked up to him, Miles eager to introduce himself, holding a small box of food. Hobie held you back, watching you stare at the sight before you in amazement.
The moment quickly dissipated once you saw the Miguel everyone knew, his violence showing its face rather quickly, throwing an item in Miles direction. With quick reaction, your web caught onto the object, throwing it to a forgotten corner, showing yourself to him. He chuckled, his expression gleamed with frustrations and anger.
“I knew you would be here.”
“Your favorite disappointment could never miss out on a good time.”
Glaring at one another, everyone could feel the tension, so thick it was possible to cut it with a knife. Hobie watched from afar, reading for whatever should come next. That is until you felt the joyous cries of a child, turning to see a grown man in a pink robe. Instantly, you felt a wave of tears washing over you, Peter calling your name as soon as you ran into his arms.
“I missed you kid.”
Miles shared the excitement, walking up to Peter, also capturing him in an embrace. Miles looked at you in awe once more, wondering how you knew him.
“He was my mentor.”
“That’s crazy, me too!”
You heard Miguel groan, echoing throughout the room, Peter ignoring him, and telling you and Miles to do the same. You once again here the coos of a child, looking in the direction, a baby crawling across the wall. You excitedly exclaim with Miles, “You had a baby!”
Peter laughs sheepishly, yelling for his daughter, telling her to make sure she kept her day pass on, clearly in her own world.
Once again, the atmosphere changed dramatically, Miguel stepping down from his pad, Miles following, both engaging in a rather lengthy conversation about canon events. That’s when you started to shake, Gwen and Hobie looking at you with worry. Still, you held your ground, listening to Miguel explain the Spiderverse to Miles, the timelines, and the unfortunate events that occurs to just about every Spider-person. You saw the young teen grow anxious, beginning to mention his dad, and how he becomes captain in just a few days. Miles grows impatient and restless, and arguing that he shouldn’t sit here and let his father die. Miles looked to his colleagues, searching for confirmation. They all looked away, proving the timeline to be correct. Miguel turns toward you, motioning Miles to look in your direction.
“Your friend here believed the same thing.”
You felt everyone’s eyes on you, feeling as small as Miguel once made you feel. You looked at Miles, ready to hang onto every word you as you began to open your mouth to speak, but you looked away.
“Go on, tell him, [Name].”
You sucked up your sniffles, having to relive that memory constantly felt dehumanizing.
“I….I had a friend, who believed the same thing you did. She wanted to be able to save her parents, to be able to do both, and live the perfect life.”
You felt your chest tighten, yet urged yourself to continue.
“I ended up getting her killed, and destroyed her Universe.”
You heard Miles let out a gasp, you looked to Hobie, his eyes wide, and you couldn’t decipher his emotion. Miles turned back to Miguel, demanding that he be returned home. He refused, locking him in. They had all began to walk away, apologizing that it had to end like this. Well, not on your watch, but it seems that Hobie beat you to it.
A flash of light, knocking everything and everyone on their ass, you chuckled at the gesture. Miles was still in shock, quickly recovering, running off into the headquarters. Miguel runs after the kid, everyone following behind. You felt a arm wrap around your waist, a portal opening. Before pulling you both through, Hobie declaring his standing with the league.
“And for the record, I quit.”
—
You were back in the comfort of your own home, dressed in your lounge clothes, while your suit in the washer. Hobie had flew you home, as there was no reason to hide it anymore. Now, it was an uncomfortable silence, the two of you haven’t spoke since you left the headquarters. Hobie was getting ready to head out, his back turned to you, but not until you made yourself clear.
“We can’t come back from this.”
You looked up, his eyes staring back at you as he turned to you. The moon illuminated his smile, responding casually.
“Maybe that’s a good thing.”
And then he was gone, and you didn’t know when he would be back.
Or if he ever would be.

Hey, could you write spider-Gwen x fem reader jealous headcanons?
Coming right up!
Gwen Stacy X Jealous Fem! Reader
Characters: Gwen Stacy, Miles Morales and Hobie Brown
Tags: Established Relationship, jealous!Gwen Stacy, reassurance, fluff, oblivious nature and self esteem issues.
Warning: Mild Cussing, but SFW.
A/N: Gwen is a beautiful woman, does she know that? Like damn!
So Gwen isn’t the heavy jealous type.
Would she be upset if someone’s flirting with you knowing you’re dating her? Absolutely.
But is she going to kick someone’s ass for doing it? No.
If there’s touching involved? Maybe.
But all in all, she was a chill girlfriend.
But you? Hooo boy!
You are aware Gwen is kind of a bombshell.
If the way Miles drools over her and the way Hobie talks to her didn’t make you realize that, someone else would.
At first you were okay with it, thinking they were only like this because she was beautiful.
But more men and women started to hit on her. And the more she got compliments, the more it fuelled your jealousy.
Gwen didn’t think much of it though, always brushing off the flirting as mindless compliments.
It wasn’t until your unspoken frustration started translating in your body language did she get a clue into your jealousy.
It had gotten to the point where she sat the both of you down to talk about it.
She didn’t understand initially though.
She thought it was an issue of trust and that hurt her. But the real reason hurt more;
Your esteem was starting to get low and grew lower to where you felt you weren’t good enough for her.
You felt like she deserves someone better. More attractive, more social, more perfect.
But Gwen would say otherwise.
And she did.
“Y/N. I love you. No one could ever compare to you because you are everything I could ever ask for. You’re perfect and I could only love you. Don’t ever forget that, okay?”
Ever since, she makes sure to tell you everyday how much she loves you.
If someone tries to flirt with her, it’ll go in one ear and out the other.
She’ll even go as far as telling that person that she’s taken or to cease their advances.
There’s only one person who can flirt with her. And that's you.
Spider-Verse Requests are open!
Likes and retweets are always appreciated! I love you all, stay hydrated and have a good day! <3

can you make a headcannon of gwen having a introvert or super shy girlfriend?
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend
Gwen Stacy x Fem!Reader
Tw: Nothing, basically just cuteness (not revised)
(English is not my first language)
I feel like this could be better, but honestly I'm not at my best... so I guess that's it, I still hope you like it ❤️
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend------------ I feel like Gwen is an ambivert type of person, so she can kind of be on both sides of the coin depending on the situation or her mood in day. Either way, this girl would be super understanding with you, always trying her best to make sure you are comfortable in her surroundings.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend------------ If you were in a circle of people talking and she noticed that you had something to say, she would do her best to help you to integrate into the conversation, in addition to listening carefully to what you have to say.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend----------- Whenever you are in very crowded places, she keeps her hand firmly attached to yours, arms intertwined, hand in your back pocket, around your shoulder, on your waist or belt strap, in general anything that helps her stay close and not end up losing you in the middle of so many people (she also wants you to have this guarantee that it is there and not going anywhere).
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend----------- If you're the type who's too embarrassed to ask for directions on the street or order your own food, she wouldn't mind doing it for you. But she always tries to encourage you in a healthy way, obviously, to do it alone and be SUPER proud when you succeed, even if you stutter or fumble a little while speaking she still couldn't be most proud of your girl😭 she is your number one supporter.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend-------- I imagine a scenario where you would have to present a project in class, in front of the whole class and you're like: Internal screams, anxiety, hyperventilating, wanting to faint, cry and vomit all at once. But Gwen is such a supportive and understanding girlfriend that she would never diminish the way you feel about it, and instead of saying it's silly and that you need to learn to deal, she tries her best to set aside at least one hour a day (either in person or via video calls), to help you practice your lines, comforting you and giving you words of support.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend-------- Who when the dreaded presentation day finally arrived, would sit with you under the stairs about an hour early and just She would let you go over your lines if things were really bad for you, she would help you with breathing exercises and even hold your hair if you were the kind of person who needed to throw up. Regardless of anything, when the time finally came she would be right up front to hear everything you had to say, sussurrando palavras de conforto sempre que você gaguejasse, now...if by chance she doesn't have that particular class with you, make SURE she would be standing at the room window or opening the door to watch the presentation, with a big proud smile and a thumbs up as confirmation that you are doing well.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend-------- No matter what grade the teacher gave you on that presentation paper, she would be there for you congratulate you and tell you that you were incredible simply for having the courage to go in front of everyone to speak, that this is how you start and that soon you would be doing it to the letter.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend-------- The beginning of the relationship would be so weirdly cute and funny, this girl is crazy and hungry for physical touch, but you don't know exactly how comfortable you are with that, you're both a shy mess and too embarrassed to ask each other.
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend—------- But things start to flow and work naturally little by little, until you finally reach your first kiss. Gwen would probably be the one to initiate it... and you to walk away, not because you didn't like it but because it was unexpected, like, you were casually at her house at a sleepover, talking and being silly teenagers when suddenly she He leaned over and kissed you, more like a peck since you got scared and went to the other side of the room 😭😭 (you didn't talk about it for about three days).
Gwen with a super shy girlfriend-------- The first time the two of you actually kiss without running away from each other is at an even more random moment, you're in the bathroom, Gwen leaning against the sink counter as you fix your makeup in the mirror. As soon as you finish, you approach Gwen softly, both of you with a silly smile on your face when she compliments some of your makeup, it's just a super sweet interaction before you realize how close you are to each other, how you wouldn't need to lean in so much for touching your lips and how your breaths seem to mix perfectly.
Then they both go in for the kiss…and damn, that's awkward.
A small shy peck, followed by lots of silly giggles that barely allow you to put your lips together properly, hands shaking and not knowing where to rest, your teeth they probably clash a little...but at the same time as it's strange it's also so adorable. Soon you find a little rhythm that is still shy, but more comfortable for both of them, with Gwen holding her face with an almost crushing softness and her (very shaky) hands resting and delicately gripping her waist her. Anyway, a student ends up getting in the middle of this, disrupting this little moment and making the two of them separate like scared cats (you still laugh about that whenever you remember)

Bruh here's a thought what if Miles had an Aunt or a godmother who knows about him being spider man and finds out about what Miguel did than start's cussing him out in a different language which ends up scaring the poor man also the person who told was Peter but it was an accident he was trying to help by talking about how great of a guy Miguel was because the poor idiot liked you but was to scared to show it which didn't work because only ended up talking about Miguel going on a rampage on Miles chasing him and hurting him because of the Spider-verse thing so yeah it took Miles putting a good word in for Miguel to get you to calm down and which Miles helped Miguel ask you out for dinner to get to know him a bit more which you agreed only because of Miles, oh and Peter has been avoiding Miguel ever since

42!Miles x Sleepy!Reader
Ms. Rio loooovvveeessss reader and she even comes over when Miles isn’t there to hang out with her on days she’s not working
Most of the time reader takes naps in Miles bed with his shirts on and that’s when he usually gets home <33
(•̀ᴗ•́)و SLEEPY..
MILES G. MORALES X SLEEPY! READER
headcanons!
whenever you come to the house, mama rio welcomes you with open arms, now she isn’t gonna lie and say she liked you from the jump because she didn’t; it took some getting used too, before she even trusted you.. miles is her little boy and she loves him more than she loves anything. she just wants the best for him.
but after the three month anniversary, you had asked her about her dislike about you, and nervously gave her this big speech about how much you loved her son, and how you would do nothing but love him.. do nothing but show him how much you love him and show her how much you love her son.. is when she finally loosened up.
she feeds you, she has a photo of you and miles in her phone case, telling others..
“ this is mi mijo and his girlfriend! she’s beautiful isn’t she?”
whenever you come over, and you’re sleepy, she tries her best to keep you up until miles comes home
“ ah mija.. you wanna help me cook?”
“ I’m trying to learn how to knit… you wanna watch tutorials with me?”
“ let’s take a walk!”
it doesn’t take long before she’s giving up though, you’re a growing girl, and also a student at Vision’s Academy! It’s where you and miles met; she knows from a few sleepless nights her son has had that that school is tough, that doesn’t stop her from encouraging you two to do your best for your future.
so, now whenever she sees you walk through the door, with your bonnet in hand.. she sends a simple greeting
“ hey.. you sleepy? miles isn’t here right now.. I’ll tell him to get you when he comes back.”
“ okay mama.”
“ I love you.”
“ thank you, love you too.”
and then you’d be going into miles’ room; bonnet over your afro and falling down into his bed
the sleep would usually only last about a few hours before you feel the bed weigh down, your body going on high alert and waking you up, just to see your boyfriend in front of you.
“ woah.. mami, what’s wrong with you?”
“ nothing.. I just got a little scared.”
he would chuckle at your words, giving you a kiss on the cheek, his own bonnet on his own head as he laid down next to you
something he did whenever he got home and saw you fast asleep in his bed, he loved sleeping next to you.
BUT…
when he finds you in his shirts, is when he’s usually nothing but a giggling mess; the shirts go to your mid thigh, it’s never you wearing JUST his shirt, you always have a pair of his sweatpants on as well..
but he takes pictures of you, sleeping in his clothes ( sometimes even in his bonnet when you forget yours or come straight to his home on fridays)
he definitely sends the pictures to ganke; teasing him about how he has a beautiful girlfriend who wears his clothes & ganke doesn’t
“ look at my mami in my clothes..”
“ oh sorry.. I forgot you don’t know what it’s like..”
“ okay.. you know what-“
he had made it his profile picture on Instagram for a few hours.. a picture of you dressed in clothes that belonged to him, with drool running down your face, and sprawled out all crazy.. he only changed it after one of the guys from his old school that followed him said you were a baddie even while dressed casual
Yeah.. he wasn’t playing that, he loves to show you off, but if these niggas that was supposed to be his friends was showing out like that.. he was gonna keep his girl hidden from then on.
waking up in his arms though >>>
although when you first wake up, he’s sleep his damn self, and it’s a bit of a jumpscare; because miles is a guy who snores.. I will die on this, he snores.
it’s loud and obnoxious to the point he has to force himself to stay up so he doesn’t get on your nerves.
but you love him nonetheless.. and you love waking up to his gorgeous face too

what do you think about maybe an one shot of gwen accompanying her gf to get a piercing? it can be any piercing, up to you 🫶 doesn’t have to be long or anything just something that came to mind
Just a pinch
pairing: Gwen Stacy x Fem! Reader
warnings: pure fluff, needles, wholesomeness, Gwen being an amazing gf, cursing, the piercer is a real one fr
genre: fluff + comfort
words: 2.4k+
a/n: I can't write anything short, apologies-This idea is so cute! I love Gwen sm, she is an absolute sweetheart; I can see her doing something like this for sure. She'd be your biggest fan! <3
"Okay, brace yourself! You will soon be entering the land of pain and sparkle!"
"Oh joy, Gwen."
A piercing was not meant to be on the agenda for the day. It was supposed to be, in fact, a fun day out; that consisted of hanging out with your girlfriend at the local mall downtown. Most of your time was spent in the arcade, where Gwen refused to move from her spot at one of the claw machines until she won you a spiderman-themed teddy bear.
After that was all said and done, the two of you had continued on your way throughout the mall, stopping in many of the various shops to explore any of the little wonders they provided. You were able to prevent Gwen from spending all of her available cash on gifts for you despite her complaining, reminding her that she already broke a sweat for you when trying to get the teddy bear from the claw machine. She relented eventually, but as soon as the both of you came across the small piercing shop, Gwen instantly pulled you inside and straight to the front desk, hand tightly gripping yours.
Of course, she had asked you first before even speaking to the worker, but when you said you'd love to get a matching piercing with her, you could've sworn her whole face lit up. For the longest time she had been trying to get you to also get your eyebrow pierced; it was almost like a moment in history for her. She wasted no time in requesting an appointment upfront for you after that; she then quickly ushered you to a seat in the waiting area.
Many thoughts were swirling throughout your head as you silently assessed the situation you found yourself in, heart beginning to pick up speed as the minutes ticked by. Somehow, Gwen had managed to convince you to get an eyebrow piercing; the same as what she had, so the two of you could be 'brow bros'. Her words, not yours.
And now here you both found yourselves.
Currently sitting in the waiting area, awaiting the call of your name from the woman who claimed to be the one in charge of your appointment; to come out from the back of the shop and alert you that it was indeed your turn to stick a needle in dangerously close proximity to your eyeball.
"I am so excited for you! You're going to look great!" Gwen said, ecstatically smiling in your direction. She had been trying to encourage you for the past ten minutes, as she attempted to calm any last minute nerves you might be clinging on to whilst you waited.
"Are you sure its not going to hurt a whole bunch?" You asked, an eyebrow raised in an almost skeptical mannerism. You trusted Gwen with your whole heart, but sometimes she tended to underexaggerate certain situations. "They are putting a needle pretty close to my eye, y'know? Last time I checked, the two don't necessarily form a good blend."
"I promise, it feels like nothing. Just a pinch!"
"Just a pinch? Really?"
"Really! When have I ever lied to you?"
"You really can't just let me win one debate, can you?"
"Maybe if you asked nicely I'd be more willing."
"Shut up."
You could practically hear Gwen smirking from right beside you without even having to turn your head; the thought made you smirk as well. Your fingers twiddled around one another at an attempt of distracting yourself from the nerves bubbling up within your chest. Whether it was your first piercing or not, the anticipation of waiting to get a needle stuck in your skin was enough to get anyone antsy.
How long had it been since you'd sat down? Five minutes? Ten? Fifteen? However many, you didn't really want to think about it. The longer you had to wait, the worse the nerves buzzed.
Without warning, Gwen gently grabbed your fidgety hands in her own, giving them a gentle squeeze of what was probably meant to be comfort. A quizzical look overcame your features when you looked up and saw her seemingly serious expression.
"Hey...you don't have to do this, you know? If its making you too nervous or anything, we can always come back another time." She said, affection lacing with concern within her eyes.
You looked around the expanse of the small store then back to her, confused by her sudden change in behavior. "What? Why-"
"I know you only do that when you get stressed out or nervous." She explained, referring to all the movements you'd been making with your fingers only seconds prior. "I'm sorry if I pressured or pushed you into this; you don't have to go through with it if you're not ready or don't want to.
"Oh. Gwen-"
"You won't hurt my feelings!" She quickly assured you, holding her palms up as if in a mock surrender. "I can go up to the desk right now and tell them-"
"Gwen!" You said, louder now than you'd previously been speaking. She looked at you surprised, then bashfully, realizing she had begun to ramble. You never did like it when she tended to get too deep into her own head; but you also liked to remind her that it's what made her so unique.
A deep breath came and left your lungs as you looked her over briefly, seeing as her hands were practically crushing yours in their grip. You offered a squeeze of your own, helping release some of the tension from your knuckles.
"I want to do this, okay?" You looked at her for a good second, wanting to be sure she heard the affirmation. "You didn't push me into anything. I agreed, did I not?" A knowing smile made it's way onto your lips. "You of all people should know that I won't let anyone pressure me into doing anything I'm not comfortable with. You said it yourself; it's why you love me."
Gwen had her mouth slightly agape, almost like she was surprised you were able to use her own words of affection towards you in such a way to prove your point. You just continued to smile at her.
" I would love to be your 'brow bro'." You finished, knowing those were the words she really wanted to hear above all else.
Gwen suddenly laughed and pulled you into a tight hug, which you reciprocated almost immediately.
"I knew it! I knew you couldn't resist!" She said through her soft laughter.
"Oh, come on. I love you too much, how could I resist? Besides, being a 'brow bro' sounds totally badass if you ask me." You said, grinning like a dork. "You always manage to come up with the strangest names for things, Gwen Stacy."
"It truly is a gift, isn't it?"
While the two of you were busy cracking stupid jokes and giggling like school-girls, the piercer responsible for your appointment finally called out your name, causing both you and Gwen to jolt upwards. Your girlfriend gave you an encouraging look, gripping your hand as she assisted you in standing from your chair. She made an effort of handing you the teddy bear she had won you from the arcade earlier, as it had been sitting on its own chair besides your own. You gladly took it from her and tucked it under your arm with a grin and quick roll of your eyes. Your affection for one another was unmatched.
"C'mon," She said, grinning. "let's make it official."
You sat on a comfortable lounge-like chair in one of the back rooms of the small shop, where they did the piercings. Gwen was beside you, sat atop one of the extra chairs provided for bystanders in the room. She held your hand in her own, smiling reassuringly at you as the worker who would be administering the piercing sterilized a needle for the job, humming softly to herself as she glanced at the two of you.
"It's okay to be nervous." Gwen told you softly, running her thumb over your knuckles. "I was terrified to get mine done, but hey, it looks cool, right?"
"You weren't scared at all, were you?" You deadpanned.
Gwen rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly as you looked at her. "Well to be honest, no." She took a breath and let a bright smile fill her face. "But hey! I forced my dad to hold my hand, so that's got to count for something, right?"
You rolled your eyes with a soft chuckle, noticing the proud gleam of pride in Gwen's eyes at being able to make you less nervous about the whole situation. It was her forte after all.
"Alright, missy. You ready?" The piercer had turned away from the counter full of sterile tools and was now looking at the both of you, surveying the situation as Gwen tried to calm you in any way she possibly could; yet she spoke to you specifically.
"Yep. This one here has been hyping me up for the past half-hour." You said, tilting your head in Gwen's direction. She offered that same bright smile to the worker, even offering a small wave of her hand that was not yet occupied with holding one of your own.
"Well then, hopefully this all goes smoothly for you. Though I like to think I'm pretty good at my job; no one has died yet." The worker said with a grin of her own, obviously finding the two of you to be humorous; something she could learn to appreciate after dealing with not-so cooperative clients. It was always a breath of fresh air to see young adults trying a new sort of style, and it kept the shop in business. The small piercing shop was most likely the only one in New York that did not require adult supervision to get a piercing(unless you went to some back alley, which wasn't ideal), so keeping up was never usually an issue.
Gwen and you both chuckled at that, feeling the blonde pat you hand she already held within her own.
"I'm right here. You're going to be fine, I promise." Gwen told you softly, watching as the worker approached you and stood on your other side with the sterilized needle ready. You nodded, silently thanking your girlfriend for her never-ending support in the moment, taking a few deep breaths as you turned your head to face the worker when she asked you, positioning the needle right on your eyebrow.
Within the count of three seconds, she had pushed the needle through the delicate skin of your eyebrow, causing your nose to scrunch up a bit in discomfort but stay still as a rock nonetheless. You could feel Gwen's grip tighten on your hand, and hear her praises towards you as the piercing process commenced.
"You're okay, you're doing great!"
"It's almost over, just a second more."
"I love it already, babe!"
As soon as the process had begun, it was over. After assuring that the jewelry piece was firmly set how it should be in your eyebrow, the worker complimented you on your bravery and ability to stay still with an almost proud, parent-like smile, before busying herself with cleaning the needle once more and getting everything set up again for any other clients she may be seeing that day, if any.
You got out of the chair, and, with Gwen's hand still in yours, made your way out of the room and up to the front desk in order to pay. The piercer had given you a discount for your appointment, claiming it's because it took her longer than usual to get set up and get the two of you back to the room; but both you and Gwen knew it was most likely because she found your dynamic to be the most wholesome she had yet to witness, especially when getting a piercing. Hey, neither of you were about to protest; 50 percent off was 50 percent off.
"Ahh- I love it!" Gwen exclaimed excitedly, grinning like she'd just won a million bucks. To her, your company and happiness were worth just that.
Seeing you adjust and examine the small piece of jewelry now stuck in your eyebrow with an awe and undoubtable joy, using her cars rearview mirror to see yourself, just made her heart melt. She remembered feeling the same way when she first got hers done. It made you feel brand new, in a sense.
"I love it, too!" You said, grinning as the two of you agreed. You delicately pushed the mirror back into place as you settled comfortably back down in the passenger seat. "Guess this officially makes us 'brow bros', huh?"
This earned a genuine laugh from Gwen, as she gently grabbed the rearview mirror after you finished using it, adjusting it to her liking before letting her hand fall back onto the steering wheel. She just playfully shook her head, loose strands of her hair moving to fall slightly over her beautiful blue eyes.
"You look amazing, you know? It really suits you." She admitted, a shy expression overtaking her features, causing your newly pierced eyebrow to lift.
"You've only been telling me since we left the shop." You responded, smiling as she laughed again, watching as her ears turned a light shade of crimson. "Though I am so lucky to have you as my personal cheerleader." You softly elbowed her in the ribs and she swatted your arm away.
"I'm being serious!" She exclaimed, trying to stop laughing. "Shit looks badass!"
You snorted, amused. "I will admit, it was very well worth it. Not as bad as I previously thought."
"Duh." She replied, rolling her eyes like you had earlier, in a teasing manner. "I told you, didn't I? Just a pinch."
You held up your hands in mock surrender, smirking at her. "Just a pinch."
She shot you a smug grin. "You do know this means you're stuck with me, right? I mean, I can't have my 'brow bro' up and leaving me, y'know?"
You laughed loudly and put an arm around her shoulders, leaning over the divide between your two seats to give her a quick, affectionate kiss on the cheek, looking triumphantly on as her cheeks filled with color and she leaned into your touch.
"And you know I wouldn't have it any other way."
