whats ur spe swap au?

speswap is just like. the spe version of my swap au (which was the first one I made so thats why thatone doesnt have a prefix. special treatment I know sorry) so like. everyones personalities get reversed you knowthe deal.

its kanjoh (emphasis on the joh) centric because they gaveme diseases. Im going to just put their descriptions in a list now

speswap!red "the planner": super calculating, views everything in a strictly logical way and as a result is kinda cold and distant from everything around him. also highly prefers to let someone else do all the physically demanding work Hes not even good at it anyway yknow...

speswap!green "the heart": emotional core of kantrio, wears his heart on his sleeve and is so Incredibly Genuine all the time. also hes just like.. completely useless in battle. like thats not being mean its just true. his pokemon are there to save him from dying which he is in constant danger of nearly all the time somehow. also hes extremely sheltered and constantly coddled by those around him

speswap!blue "the warrior": no thoughts only DO STUFF NOW!!! NOW!!!!!! constantly rushing into things and constantly having to be reined back in. brutally honest (emphasis on the brutal) and makes her thoughts VERY known. dislikes those who are dishonest not because of any moral code about lying or anything but just because shes like. damn get to the POINT already

speswap!yellow (no title they arent a dexholder): possibly one of the worst and annoying people in kanjoh, absolutely TERRIFIED of pokemon and in order to not show her weakness he instead expresses that fear as vitriolic hatred instead. believes that pokemon should be completely eradicated actually

speswap!gold "the conformer": new bark's pride and joy, the Perfect™ role model for all of your children, the ever so polite and helpful gold! forced to bottle up any and all of his negative emotions he is constantly seething with hatred just under his perfect persona and he will not be expressing any of his feelings in a straightforward way Anytime soon,

speswap!silver "the adapter": silver-tongued (ha) conartist who portrays himself as a bright eyed, naiive kid in order to gain peoples' pity and trust but he is NEITHER of those things. he's living to survive he's living out of spite

speswap!crystal "the challenger": #1 authority HATER. will not do work and will instead complain at the mere suggestion that she should. also very good at being an enabler of others' more rebellious qualities but tends to dip before things get "too serious" (that meaning requiring too much actual effort on her end) for her

also kantrios new titles refer to how they work together while johtrios new titles refer to how they interact with the environment around them :) yeah Iknow thats not how the titles are supposed to work. however. its my au I do what I want. ok.

do you have any thoughts on swapspe blue and silver's backstories? is the masked man still a problem or is he out of their lives entirely?

honestly I have not thought about speswap pryce all that much… since like Everyone gets reversed hes just back to being a regular gym leader. Im sure hes a nice fella. so yeah there isnt any child kidnapping or anything coming from him

however since EVERYONE gets reversed that means . speswap silver and speswap blue’s original home lives??? uhhhhhhh. well. Not the Best! Could Be Better! infact they both end up disassociating from their respective families and opt to just become like. wandering trainers instead… kinda like how their canon counterparts were after escaping from the masked man except they. Dont. have eachother this time. DONT WORRY ABOUT ITTTTT

oh I have THOUGHTS. swap silver would win a pokemon battle between them no question but that isnt like. a drag on speswap silver or anything I just dont think hed like.. try very hard? hed just be fucking around the whole time

their dynamic in my head is funny to me in general. because like swap silver kinda IS the whole bright-eyed childish one that speswap silver pretends to be to get other peoples guards down. and because swap silver is Way Too Trusting For His Own Good he really does just think speswap silver is like him. theyre "Friends". kinda. ish. mostly on swap silvers end.

What's the dynamic like between swap spe gold and silver

speswap gold and speswap silver's dynamic is very funny to me. they absolutely despise eachother. both of them know the other is a fake ass bitch (takes one to know one) but neither are willing to back down. I think speswap gold gets more and more passive aggressive and speswap silver in response continues to pretend to not notice because hes just sooooo naiive and trusting and nice (hes not. he knows. he does it on purpose bc it irritates gold)

they Very begrudgingly work together (alongside speswap crys shes also here) because dexholders are Supposed to do that or whatever. but make no mistake all of them would absolutely take the first chance to betray eachother. and someone probably does. I dont know I havent rewritten most the plot yet

ooooh you wanna talk about speswap green and swap silver parallels so bad and also the way that the near-universal rule of silver characterization is having every reason to turn evil and deciding not to and

GLDFKJGD speswap green 🤝 swap silver (like the singular good person in their aus) (ok well maybe theres like a couple other good people but half of those character arcs were driven by green or silver anyway)

also I dont think. the last thing exactly applies anymore (hey speswap silver) though I guess if you reword it into like "having a path set for them by others but deciding to do their own thing" it still works. for better or for worse...

Hiiii I'm the anon before about the speswap headcanon stuff I'm just very shy and needed the time to come back ngl also it's mostly Gold related sorry I play favorites—

Anyway um. If all personalities are swapped I have this thought of the Pkmn House being used for profit rather than just a fun house full of Pokémon? Gold's mother is *very* strict and formal and uptight and that's why Gold tries to be such a perfectionist and the pride of New Bark Town. It's to drawn in tourists and money so his mother can basically scam them over a daycare type setting. Gold is left with most of the tasks and responsibilities while his mother puts on a nice face and makes him do the same to keep up their reputation.

This is a major reason why Gold is so angry and kinda violent(? I'm just basing that on your bday art for Gold where he's holding up a bat to og Gold). Cause [cough cough much like gv Ethan] most of his childhood has been ripped from him in favor of putting on a show to keep others happy (and possibly to keep himself safe from the potential wrath of his mother) leading to built up rage over the course of possible years.

Kris can see right through the mask he puts on obviously and they've almost gotten him to crack a few times but nothing has worked so far.

Also Gold's mother absolutely adores Silver and compares the two a lot (mainly putting Gold in a negative light) and Silver sometimes helps out to gain her trust more

oh you got alot of details abt speswap golds home life correct actually!! got me questioning whether Ive posted about it on here before…

yeah his mom is like. super duper strict and has extremely high expectations for him and thats why hes all perfectly polite and formal all the time. admittedly I havent put much thought into what happens to the pkmn house in speswapverse but your thoughts are super interesting to think abt… hrmmmm

also yes all of his pent up rage is the direct result of his idealistic perfect child facade requiring him to Never express any remotely negative emotions At All. and I think he’s had to do this for mmmost of his life. he got shoved into the perfect child mold at a very very young age I fear.. I dont think he has a Specific disdain for his Situation though. his inner hatred is kind of directionless and just targets the general people around him (except his mom. something something mother knows best) and also probably himself but Dont worry about it

HOWEVER… speswap crys is actually the only person to be successful in cracking gold’s facade even if only a little. even after leaving the direct supervision of his mother to do dexholder stuff he continues to be Inoffensive and Polite and Perfect to everyone EXCEPT crys. well he keeps the facade up as best as he can but she has gotten numerous Actually Rude comments from him which is a wild departure from the attitude he usually displays

and also idk if there would be a scenario where the others would get to meet golds mother (and also crys would probably try jumping her if Im gonna be honest) but it is a funny thought…
