Oh my god there really is a shortage of outlaws fans out here so here's a question. Who is your favourite underrated character?

This is a really tough question, tbh. There's a lot of characters in The Outlaws and a lot of them don't get as much love from the fans as the others. Whether this depends on sceentime or just them being overshadowed by the main characters (who are fabulous btw), I'm not sure.

Does Spencer count? He's a total jerk but honestly he's pretty entertaining. Don't get me wrong, he needs to leave Greg alone, but aside from this he has some REALLY funny moments (and he's totally based off Ricky, huh?). Other than this, uhh..

Hmm.. I might have to say Tori? She doesn't get much in but I feel like from what we saw we still found out lots about her, and I really love her character over all. From the moment she was on screen with those rollerskates I just knew she was gonna be one of my underrated faves, lmao.

Also idk if you'd class Christian Taylor as underrated but if you do, then him also. The power in the moment where he threw away the drug line was CRAZY good, and how he redeems himself in Season 3 is so insanely cool.

ALSO yk what. I think Rani's parents are really interesting characters too, but I should stop now or I'll just ramble all day, LMAO.

Greg still works in the office and sits opposite Spencer (@spencer-fitzwilliam), but is slowly attempting to transition out into Freelance.

Greg currently resides in flat 13 in the divorcees apartment building, and lives with Lady Gabby (@gabbypenhowe).

Greg is not dating Anne-Marie.

Greg is overly insecure, especially about his lawyer-ing abilities, and tries to talk around this as much as possible.

I also enjoyed Atlanta and, while it’s been a while since I’ve seen Bride and Prejudice, it’s got Indian musical numbers so c’mon, one gotta watch it.

Back to the closer adaptions, despite its age, 1980 is also good! 1940 is...very different, but fun in its own way.

In fact, while I find some of these versions weaker, I could find enjoyment in all of them - but maybe that’s cause I’m a sucker for P&P.

My dear friend @inmediasras linked me to this character personality survey and I was really entertained by the results, especially once I did the 140-question version (which did somewhat alter the results, though the top ones remained similar—all my friends who took the quiz got a ton of female characters, while my results were very noticeably more "masculine", and doing the more detailed version only made my results even more dominated by dudes, lol).

I wasn't familiar with some of the characters, but the quiz has an option where you can break down your results by the source texts/media in addition to the overall lists of the most highly-correlated characters. Predictably, I vacillated between report methods (based on Pearson correlation or mean difference) and also about what should be my lowest threshold for "counting" the results. I settled on a threshold of 65% for counting any result and excluded characters from texts I'm not familiar with.

In light of all the horrid stuff going on in this country lately, I would just like to remind everyone that england isn’t a totally terrible place!!

This country is full of beautiful architecture, art, literature, and natural beauties that are sometimes hard to believe are real.

This is the Major Oak of Sherwood Forest, and is estimated to be as much as 1100 years old!! It is estimated at 23 tons, and is 33 feet in girth/10 metres. According to local folklore, it is the tree where Robin Hood and his merry men slept when in the forest.

This is Durdle Door, in Dorset. It’s a natural limestone formation on the jurrassic coast, which was deemed “of such international geographic importance” that it was England’s first foray natural World Heritage site with UNESCO in 2001, joining the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef (visit-dorset.com)

As for architecture, we have the iconic Highclere Castle

Most well known for its use in iconic historical drama Downton Abbey, first written records of the Highclere estate date back to the year 749 when the estate was granted to the bishops of Winchester. In the late 14th century the bishop of Winchester William of Wykeham built himself a palace on the property, and was taken by Edward VI during the reformation in 1551. It was then granted to the Fitzwilliam family, rebuilt in 1679 by then owner Sir Robert Sawyer, who then bequeathed it to his daughter Margaret, first wife to the 8th earl of Pembroke, Thomas herbert, and it remains in the hands of the Herbert family to date, albeit the branch that resulted in the current Earl of Carnarvon. It was redesigned in the years 1842-49 to the facade we know today. (Quick side note, I am directly related to the herbert family through my great grandfather, so carnarvon I’m coming for you watch out)

We also have of course, the ever iconic Chatsworth house

IYKYK. Jk this incredible house is most well known for its use as Pemberley, the Derbyshire residence of Mr Darcy in the 2005 production of Pride and Prejudice (the best film ever made thank you very much).

The Manor of Chetesuorde is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as property of the crown in the custody of William de Peverel. Chatsworth ceased to be a large estate until the 15th century when it was purchased by the Leche family. They enclosed the first park and built a house on what is now the south east part of the gardens. The lands were sold in 1549 to Sir William Cavendish, husband of Bess of Hardwick (who was the “keeper” of Mary Queen of Scots while imprisoned. Also apparently her grandson married ANOTHER of my ancestors so I’m related to her too?? What the fuck I need to stop learning family history on the fly). Bess began to build her own home on the property from 1553 to the 1560s.

The home was renovated a truly mindboggling amount of times, as is the amount of times it changed hands. So I’ll keep it simple. A great number of important changes were made by the 4th duke of Devonshire, greatly changing the layout of the home. His son would marry Georgiana Spencer, 4 times great aunt of princess Diana (and YET ANOTHER RELATIVE OF MINE! From another branch of the family!! I need to call my mother. And update my ancestry.com).

In 1811 the 6th duke of Devonshire inherited Chatsworth, and proceeded to transform it into the wonderful beacon of regency romance we know and adore today over the course of his stewardship over the property.

These are only four incredible natural and historical landmarks in England. There are so many more that I could spend 3 life times researching!! (And so many more that have nothing to do with my family history, I promise. Swear I wasn’t doing this on purpose lmao)

This country can be a fucking nightmare, but it’s also a beautiful country with incredible sights and history, and I think we do ourselves a disservice when we forget that. It’s okay to love England (I fucking adore this country you have no idea, wouldn’t be running a blog if I didn’t!), you aren’t a bad person or supporting the bad shit we’ve done if you are proud of being English.

Because don’t get me wrong this country has perpetrated some of the worst shit in history, but we’ve also contributed some of the most important literature and scientific discoveries ever!!

Mary Anning revolutionised the field of paleontology!! Mary Shelley started the entire sci fi genre. Steven hawkin, Charles Darwin, Dorothy Hodgkin and Rosalind franklin discovered DNA! Isaac Newton, William Blake, John Keats, Byron, Alan Turing, Branwell, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne bronte, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, John Everett Millais, John William Waterhouse, to name a few merely off the top of my head!

England can be a wonderful place, and our heritage can be incredible and a legacy to be truly proud of. It would not do to forget, however, that a lot of our history would not have been possible without queer and ethnic minority groups. We all know a good deal of English wealth came from the slave trade, female scientists and artists often had credit for their work stripped from them and given to husbands or even strangers, and a good number of our most influential scientists and artists were very notably queer who were treated incredibly poorly and sometimes killed, and these are facts that can and do exist simultaneously.

Our heritage is wonderful, but it is still being made today. Things that we do now will be landmark events for our descendants, and it is our duty to do better for this country than our ancestors.

In case you didn’t know, former President Donald Trump is releasing another book by April 25, and this one is bringing in a lot of attention because it isn’t an autobiography or another business-based guide; it's a book of letters he’s gotten over at Letters to a lot of famous figures, whose letters to him will be seen in the public eye—including past ones from Princess Diana.

Per Newsweek, many sources are claiming these letters have the potential to cause “embarrassment,” with royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams saying, “It is possible that [the letter] might contain embarrassing material, though it is highly unlikely they will contain anything compromising as [Diana] apparently viewed him with disdain.”

Along with Diana, letters from Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II, and Kim Jong Un are said to also be in the upcoming book. But many are interested to see what Diana wrote to the former President in 2022; the biography The King: The Life of Charles III claimed that Trump had "aggressively pursued" Diana after she and King Charles III divorced in 1996, and it’s not the only one.

"He bombarded Diana at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets of flowers, each worth hundreds of pounds, and clearly saw Diana as the ultimate trophy wife. As the flowers piled up at her apartment, she became increasingly concerned about what she should do and had begun to feel as if Trump was stalking her," wrote journalist Selena Scott for the Sunday Times in 2015. They met back in the 1990s since they ran in the same social circle and would bump into one another through charity functions. He’s made vulgar comments about her in the past and even wrote in his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, "I only have one regret in the women department—that I never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer."

The book is set to be released in a little over a month, and truly, no one knows what to expect.

If The Outlaws Had YouTube Channels (Part 3)

LADY GABBY • Gabby started her channel a few weeks after her Instagram started to pick up, as anyone does, and started advertising her channel through her other socials, gaining it some leverage on the platform. • She posts anything and everything she feels like, when she wants, when she thinks of it. Anything from positivity videos, to life updates and storytimes, to make-up tutorials, all of which have a very successful view count. • She's livestreamed on the platform a few times, most often for charity streams and drumming up support for sponsors or organisations, but rarely does these out of her own free will, as she prefers the live options of Instagram and TikTok. • After moving in with Greg, he was in more and more of her videos, and it's painfully obvious that a lot of the time he was not made aware of this fact before Gabby started reocording. He tries his best to make it work, though - anything for his best friend, and Gabby appreciates the gesture (the Q&As are especially fun!). • Gabby's subscriber count rapidly increases all the time, but now stands at around 1.8 million; a lot of which came over from her Instagram to get more content. • She does find herself getting hate comments from time to time, and in th past would've dwelled on them, but now in an attempt to better herself, tries to ignore or delete them. She tries to like a lot of the positive comments she recieves, but if Greg has commented on a video, you know it's getting pinned - he's become somewhat of a channel highlight.

GREG • Greg did not want to start a YouTube channel. "I don't really want my face out there," he explains, only for Spencer to refute, "I'm sure a lot of people also don't." • In the end, he was pressured into it - no, not by Gabby, but by Spencer, who was hoping to get a few cheap laughs out of Greg making a fool of himself and potentially going viral for it. More Greg content is more Greg content, after all. • He eventually decided it could be somewhat therapeutic to just talk to the camera sometimes, and get things out (and uploads these privately), and otherwise he makes little vlog-like videos of his and Gabby's outings, so they can have a record of the good times (these are usually more popular). • Greg does fairly well for himself at 2k subscribers, consisting of Gabby, Spencer and his alt account, Community Service friends, and majorly subscribers of Gabby's who also really like him. The number intimidates him quite a lot, though. So many people...

SPENCER • Spencer started his channel when YouTube was becoming popular, completely convinced that the up and coming platform would flop lifeless without his cool and suave presence... It would not have, but let him think what he wants to think, I suppose. • His early videos are mostly of him playing guitar and singing - the first of which was that old classic "Wonderwall", which he's sure people will love only because he's singing it this time. • As well as this, he eventually starts making videos talking about his cases but moreso events that have occured in real life, usually revolving around putting Greg down. • Whenever transcripts of Greg's cases become available, he gets his hands on them as soon as possible, and does a live reading and reaction, if you will, pointing out and teasing where Greg has gone wrong. He's basically just a Greg reaction channel that does singing on the side. • Spencer's channel is not as popular as he'd like it to be, and he chalks it down to the bad algorithm; he currently has 30 subscribers, and some of those are his alt accounts that he uses to anonymously comment on Greg's videos.

A bit of a recap, but P&P fics I’ve been thinking of over the last few weeks:

1. Love, Pride & Delicacy: the f!Darcy/Elizabeth period-set femslash AU that I’m still hammering out the details of. I haven’t posted new chapters lately, but I am working on it!

2. Darcy/Elizabeth pining AU: everything is the same as in P&P (the book) except that Lady Catherine never hears the speculation about a potential Darcy/Elizabeth match and never comes to Longbourn, and Darcy doesn’t have enough hope to propose until his and Elizabeth’s paths cross in London several months later, when she’s on her usual visit to the Gardiners while he’s on visiting terms with them. Intense yearning, poor communication, and UST ensue (and are inevitably resolved in a HEA, but it takes more time).

3. Gardiners at Longbourn earlier AU: Mr and Mrs Gardiner visit Longbourn earlier than in canon, and are able to personally interact with Darcy and Bingley from early on. Darcy is initially wary but does end up liking them fairly quickly (and is both uncomfortable and inconsiderate enough to make zero attempt to hide his preference for them over Mr and Mrs Bennet), to Elizabeth’s surprise and discomfiture.

4. Post-P&P fic in which Elizabeth takes really well to the political aspect of the Darcy-Fitzwilliam-de Bourgh clan’s lives as 1790s big name Whigs, and specifically in which she, Darcy, and Georgiana have to deal with their even more big-name Whig neighbors: William Cavendish, Duke of Devonshire; his wife Georgiana; and his mistress Elizabeth Foster.

4b: Colonel Fitzwilliam/Darcy/Elizabeth fic (technically not an AU as I imagine the Darcy/Fitzwilliam + Fitzwilliam/Elizabeth developments mainly take place after canon) in which they have to put up with the much inferior throuple down the road (Devonshire/Georgiana Spencer/Elizabeth Foster) for political reasons. A terrible dinner party ensues.

5. My personal take on the inevitable modern US American AU with political undercurrents: Republican Darcy is a) terrible and b) doesn’t make a lot of sense for his canonical character, in which he’s fairly progressive for his time but elitist with a blind spot about class/socioeconomics, which is actually very common among US progressives anyway; his powerful family = a Democratic political dynasty, his uncle is a senator (federal not state), etc.

5b. Okay, my actual personal take: Darcy, in addition to having ties to politically powerful people, is a wealthy lesbian from Seattle who, per 5a, is genuinely pretty progressive but woefully out of touch when it comes to class/money issues (obviously bigoted laws are intrinsically wrong and should be fought, but why don’t people just... move???). Elizabeth (bi) kind of wants to murder her in her sleep; she is personally comfortable enough for the moment, but comes from a formerly rural area gradually becoming unaffordable to its own residents. Bingley is a Californian tech bro (better-natured than most...) who buys up/rents one of these now-unaffordable properties and thus brings himself and Darcy into contact with the Bennets.
