tell me about castor :D
Tumblr media
HOOKAY, HI. The floodgates have been opened, folks! It’s about to be walls of text!
So you wanna hear about my son! I have waited so long to tell almost his entire life story here on Tumblr. Many on Discord have heard, but not much has been told on my blog. Today, that changes!
LET’S DO THIS!
(Please note: The Spellcastor AU is still under development and details may be changed)
Full Name: Castor Windchime.
Nicknames: Spellcastor (Eda), Window decor (also Eda, upon first meeting).
Parents: Quince and Layla Windchime (May Layla rest in peace? Still iffy on that decision).
Age: Somewhere in his 40s, who knows.
Occupation: Supplier of potion ingredients (former), Seller of human collectibles (current), Another job that I will not reveal at this time for spoiler reasons (REDACTED).
Hexside Track: Illusions, Bard (behind closed doors).
Sexuality: Pan.
Wild Witch: Yes.
Likes: Storytelling and using his magic to do so, music, Boiling Isles history, cookie dough eye-scream, boiling rainstorms, goreberries, his morning coffee, being with loved ones.
Dislikes: Belos, Odalia, the coven system, anyone who threatens his friends and family, when his ears get cold on the knee, goreberry flavored anything.
First off, WHO is Castor? As stated before, I see him as my son, but in reality, he is my Owl House OC! Originally intended to be my self insert/witchsona, he quickly snowballed into his own character entirely with his own AU in the works. This boy and his story are my pride and joy.
His story is a long one, and while there are a handful of details and even chunks that I won’t be talking about for the purposes of avoiding spoilers, I am warning that you may wanna stop here in case you wanna find out everything once the fic comes out. At some point. Eventually. Let’s go!
While this AU focuses on present day Owl House, from Luz finding herself in the demon realm, to taking down Belos once and for all, Castor’s story began decades ago. Let’s go back a ways… reaches the Deadwardian era Too far! Too far! *Ahem!* Let’s go back…less far than that.
The dawn of Belos’ reign and the beginnings of the coven system. (This is when the timeline starts to get a bit funky but it doesn’t matter much. I am about ramble about Castor’s parents as I am equally passionate about them)
Castor’s parents, Quince and Layla, met in a pretty standard way. They found each other when they weren’t in the best places in life. To start, Quince was forced by their parents to become a scout for the Emperor’s Coven the moment they were qualified to do so. Most of their teen years were spent training, something they didn’t wanna do. Their family wasn’t the most savory of Belos supporters, and Quince began to resent them for it. But sure enough, once the day came, Quince passed coven tryouts and was soon to cross the threshold of the Emperor’s Castle. Rumor has it they even went on some missions alongside Steve’s father.
Layla on the other hand made her choice. Not many in the BI would know it, but Layla was at one point a wild witch. Unfortunately, when Belos set to outlaw wild magic, she feared for her future. Her entire family did. She saw no other choice but to pick a coven, and stick with it. To stay safe. Especially when the risk of petrification grew. She specialized in beast keeping, turning her home into a sanctuary of sorts when she would bring creatures back with her to take care of them.
But of course, being in the coven system was a tough, arduous job. With the power to drain you mentally. Everyone needs their break every once in a while. Quince and Layla would one night take theirs at Grimgrub’s Pub, after a particularly long day. Which is exactly where they met, spotting each other from across the room. Nothing new for Quince, they had met a couple new people this way. The two hit it off that night, an almost instant connection. Sounds like the start of a beautiful friendship, wouldn’t you say?
It soon enough became a blossoming romance, Quince and Layla having to develop ways to see each other in secret, and away from the prying eyes of Belos and the scouts. Think sneaking in through their bedroom windows kind of a deal. By the time they married, they had both been in their covens for many years, and it did have an effect on them. But once they had Castor? Quince and Layla knew their coven days were over. Knowing that it was no place to raise a child, especially once Belos would inevitably get involved, Quince grabbed their wife and infant son, and the three made a run for it to the right arm of the Titan. Far enough away from Belos to at least try to get things in order. Within the walls of this new cozy home that is still under the Windchime name to this day, the family of three started their completely new life.
(Putting the continue reading here because this is when I get way in detail about Castor’s life story. Last chance to turn back!)
When he was a toddler, there was no telling what track Castor would pick when he’d go to Hexside. Later on though, Castor had actually grown a love for storytelling. From fiction and even Boiling Isles history, he found that illusion magic allowed him to make his stories come to life, a clear picture of the perfect scene. He had a knack for this since he was little, it coming as no surprise to his parents when he immediately picked illusions at Hexside. At school he was your average student. He got good grades, practiced at home, went to an after school writing club. Even began to study bard magic once he gained an interest. But this doesn’t mean everything was good. Castor, sadly, didn’t have much of a social life. All he had were a few acquaintances in class.
Other students often looked down on him and fellow illusion track kids for their choice of magic. Not many people saw illusions as interesting or useful. The distaste for illusion magic was worse than in Gus’ time. Most days, Castor was alone. That is, until a certain “Lord Calamity” came a knocking. You see, Eda was an infamous figure of chaos at school, and she had made one hell of a name for herself. It was a common occurrence for students to hear the end result of one of her pranks or schemes at random points of the day. And Castor would often see a yellow school uniform and ginger hair pass by in a blur as Eda fled the scene. He usually tried his best not to get caught in one, not wanting to get in trouble, or at worst, lose a limb.
As you can probably guess, Castor was one day picked by Eda to play a signature role in her latest scheme. It required illusion magic, and judging by the light blue sleeves of Castor’s uniform, she felt he’d be perfect for the job. Castor agreed, albeit reluctantly, and what followed was some of the most fun he ever had. The storyteller and bringer of chaos found that they got along quite well! Castor was called to action again soon after, Eda bringing her sister Lilith along for the action this time, and Eda had set the standard for how things would be for these three from here on out. Before long, they were suddenly sitting at the same lunch table together, hanging out after school, being study buddies, practicing magic, you name it! Castor finally had people he could call friends.
Fast forward a few years, about 7 months before the curse. The trio had been best friends for a long time, doing almost everything together. Eda and Castor would meet in their hideout (the one with all the doors) and plan out schemes of all sorts, mostly just to get on Faust's nerves. Eda had even invited Castor to her house to learn how to carve a palisman with her father, Del. Castor emerged from the Clawthorne house with a small, orange mouse sitting in his shirt pocket. A mouse named Munchkin. Lilith had gotten him even more involved in Boiling Isles history, welcoming him to the inner circle of history nerds. And of course, you could find Castor in the stands, cheering on the Banshees and supporting the Clawthorne sisters nearly every grudgby game. Everything was going to be just fine! That is, until Eda almost got expelled. Once word had gotten out, Castor was the first to hear every little detail of Eda's day at HECK, and thus, the first to hear about Eda's new friend, Raine Whispers.
Understandably, Castor was ecstatic to hear of Raine's bard status, having been practicing at home since he got an interest. Surely, a few tips and maybe even some in person lessons would help him improve on his work! Raine sounded like a charming fellow Castor would love being around, and was really excited to meet them sometime. But what Eda didn't expect was to see a familiar face show up at the lunch table the very next day. Castor and Raine hit off right from the get go, becoming closer as time went on, from bard private bard lessons (with Eda joining in, too), to collaborating on Eda's pranks since they had gotten more complex with two people helping her. Castor's bard skills had improved A LOT, and soon, he would be able to wield and play his flute with ease. Including Lilith, it was the perfect team of best friends, along with acquaintances in Darius, Alador and Perry Porter.
Before long, Castor and Lilith had begun to notice some sparks flying between the young bard and wild witch. They knew there was something between them. Castor thought it was adorable and wanted nothing but happiness for them. Lilith had even coined their ship name, Raeda. She and Castor would sometimes talk about Raeda's pining, with Darius often joining in. Eda and Raine were completely oblivious to their crushes on each other. Neither of them knew, despite it being painfully obvious. Which lead to some folks, mostly Darius, getting annoyed with the pining.
I'd say more, but the next big chunks are the ones I won't be giving. The biggest spoilers possible. But really, what else needs to be said? Castor and Lilith rejoiced when Raeda finally got together, Faust retired and made Bump principal, Castor and everyone were all there for Eda in the first months of the curse, Castor and Raeda's best friendship stood for many years, Castor still kept in a little bit of contact with Lilith even after she joined the EC, was heartbroken when Raeda broke up, and moved in with Eda a decade later when he faced some troubling times. He met King, opened up the Human Collectibles stand with Eda, and felt that all would be well for years to come. That is, until one fateful day...
"And this...well this'll make good kindling." "Excuse me, sorry, that's mine, thank you!"
Was that...a human?!
(End ridiculously long backstory!)
Thank you, and goodnight!

The binding ritual…
What exactly was the magic/spell/ritual the Bishops did to imprison TOWW. I speculate a bit on the nature of magic resources and the power source for TOWW imprisoning.
WARNING: PURE SPECULATION BASED ON MY KNOWLEDGE OF FANTASY MAGIC SYSTEMS. READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
Tumblr media
Theory/Hypothesis
I think the Bishops used their *bodies* as the binding to keep him sealed and not their souls.
Interpretation
In fantasy, mana/magicka is usually the energy used to power magic in its respective world. It's is kept in reserve until required. It kinda like fat storages in the body. It's necessary to have as once depleted magic begins to use a spellcastors life force to substain itself.
In COTL fervor and devotion seem to be the mana equivalent although I think these are reserved for Gods and crown bearers. The Lamb ability to gather fervor is tied to a Crown ability, the use of curses. Fervor specifically because it's actually generated by the person's emotions toward their enemy.
Fervor = internal source
Tumblr media
Devotion = external source
Tumblr media
In game the Bishops use Ferver to power their transformations.
Tumblr media
During TOWW's fight, the crucified followers generate fervor which is quite strange. But as fervor is generated by someone upon inflicting damage on an other, it can be assumed the fervor here is caused by *TOWW's* emotions toward the lamb and their followers. As the lamb isn't the one 'attacking' the followers. It seems like it's being literally *squeezed* out of them.
But devotion and fervor aren't the only magical power source of power in COTL. Most of our rituals are primarily powered by bones. Specifically the "desecrated bones of fallen enemies". It can be assumed that this resource is specific to *our* cult as Sozo's ritual uses mushrooms. Also the symbols on the crown trophy statues implies that each crown has a specific resource for powering it's rituals
This doesn't mean these resources were created their respective crown bearer. Only that it's the preferred ritual power source. These are some of the more obvious magic power sources in COTL.
Tumblr media
Back to the Bishops' ritual/spell that they used to trap TOWW.
With what I've explained about ritual power sources, I concluded that the bishops were using their BONES as a power source to keep TOWW imprisoned. With their souls being the "focus". Like the concentration spells in BG3. Once the two were seperated, the concentration being broken, the binding spell comes undone.
The spell is seemingly undone upon their deaths. At first I thought it was their souls that was used as the power source. But with the addition of the DLC, we learn that their souls were technically 'alive' in purgatory causing trouble. Not "gone" just somewhere else.
I said somewhere before that maybe their grief at Narinder's "betrayal" was the reason their wounds didn't heal. But maybe it was because their bodies physically *couldn't* recover due to it being used as a battery to keep TOWW trapped...
No energy left for healing...
Nor respite due to TOWW NEEDING to stay imprisoned...
Image the fear and terror one would feel. Having to constantly be concentrating on a spell to keep your super pissed and very large brother with the ability to control death and souls in time out. Knowing that any broken focus could allow him to escape.
And dying was NOT an option because then they'd be at the absolute mercy of said very angry brother. Who's also analogous to our world's satan/devil…
I wonder if stopping TOWW was worth an eternity of existing in sheer terror…

So people’s magic can change colour depending on if their intention is different? - 🌫️
(Roman shakes his head,)
Roman: Not really. Children's magic changes sometimes, but it's rare for a grown spellcastors's personality and intentions to change that drastically, I guess? Though, magic is rare enough on its own...

working on Pep-Squeak’s Rogue’s Gallery. from left to right we have
- Pep-Squeak (not a villain just here for reference)
- The Pie Piper
- Cheesemongrel
- Nanny Rouge
- Spellcastor and The Appalling Light
fitting their mousey adversary, they’re basically all C-to-D list losers at best.

I don't play with supernatural sims (other than Ghosts) very often, but my Current Legacy just happens to have Magic in the veins and I if my Gen 10 Heir still has it I want them to really embrace the Spellcaster lifestyle so I'm trying to be more friendly to the paranormal types in the game. I've deleted Vlad/the Vamps, the Spellcasters/the 3 Sages, and the Aliens in the past and then the game just gives me new ones that I have to ID so I figured for my new Save File I'd just give the Maxis Sims a makeover so they fit my aesthetics better. I was just in CAS working with L. Faba one of the Spellcastor Sages- I have never liked how she looked so she was the first of the Witches I needed to "fix". I Googled her because I wasn't sure which magic she taught and found out her name is a take on Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, so in addition to ditching the AWFUL base game hair they gave her I made her green in her makeover. I don't know if I'm going to keep the hair or the green skin, but my younger son thought I should.

Today’s very special species spotlight is True Gargoyles/Goblin Gargoyles/Sea Gargoyles/Mimic Gargoyles/Gargoyles Curse! That’s right we’re covering all things gargoyles and their subsequent subspecies! Lets see what our stone friends have going on Omegaverse wise.
Societal Stuff: Gargoyles typically have a bad rep in many societies outside their own and those that frequently see them. This whole of course prejudice being the biggest factor, is also due to many myths surrounding them. You see, there are spellcastors with the ability to curse individuals and turn them into ferocious monsters/familiars simply known as the Gargoyles Curse. However the only resemblance they actually have to said gargoyles is their stone-like appearance. The easiest way to tell a cursed one apart from all others is that they are always on all fours, lack any sort of wings, only have red glowing eyes and look like a mix between a hound and a lion with small curled horns and large fangs growing out from their lower jaw like upside down tusks. They too however also flee to the darkness but unlike the rest of them they stay active and never need sleep nor to hibernate. They also are the only ones that posses the power to breathe fire. They often smoke up a place to ambush people and hide in it. Another reason maybe due to some of the Goblin Gargoyles ancestors having very little intelligence and acting like wild animals. Their ancestors are still around today though in fewer numbers but will absolutely terrorize any and all who enter their territories. Plus any creature who is nocturnal or prefer the cover of night will always have a bed rep among humans unfortunately. However in some places (especially those with magic users) they believe them to be guardians. Scaring away any threats that could harm their homes. This is probably due to their commonplace as familiars and them often forming their homes in and around important structures in many places. And they seem to be associated by travelers as “living umbrellas” as they often are seen protecting themselves and others from the heavy rains. Using their wings as big covers.
Packs and their structures: For True Gargoyles, their packs are usually between 4-9 members. Any less than that may be a sign that something has gone wrong. All gargoyles are very pack oriented and will be seldom seen alone or without one. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t ever happen it’s just rare. Right the pack, out of those members its a singular alpha that is in charge. Often being responsible for deciding where to live and just bigger life decisions for the pack as a whole. There also is typically only one alpha in the pack. The beta males or beta females will often have the responsibility of keeping track of where everyone is. Making sure everyone makes it to safety before sunrise. The other second genders (besides omega tyrants and omegas which I’ll come back to) are simply responsible for themselves. Now omegas are definitely gonna be on marble duty. They refer to their pups as marbles which is both funny and adorable. They are responsible for making sure both their eggs and marbles are safe and will not roam as freely as the others. Omega tyrants when they are in a pack often form them without alphas and will be in charge of practically everything. Thus they seldom leave and track the others whereabouts as well as make all important decisions. Goblin Gargoyles are the most loose with their pack structures and they all leave and do their own things at night. They leave any eggs they have at the nests and take pups with them as they do any jobs or tasks. Not making one more responsible than the other. They also have 4-16 members. Now that’s a lot of packmates. For Sea Gargoyles they have 10-20 members and always have two alphas instead of one. Their structure is also more akin to the true gargoyles so the responsibilities are dealt out the same as theirs to each respective second gender. So yes it could also just be two omega tyrants but also never a omega tyrant and alpha situation as it has to be both. Probably due to how they will always clash to prove who is superior. Mimic gargoyles actually are the only ones known to go in without a pack for their entire lives. Sometimes they form one and sometimes they stay individually. More often than not individually. But when they do form packs it’s normally if they are mimicking the same species or similar species. And their pack structure is akin to the goblin gargoyles. The only difference being each individual has to be responsible for at least one egg or marble. Those under the gargoyles curse do not form packs period.
Raising of Marbles: For true gargoyles as mentioned in the packs and their structure section they leave most of the care to the omegas. Doesn’t mean the others aren’t involved in any way but the omegas are doing most of it for sure. As eggs they really only need to make sure they stay in the nests and are kept dry from any rain. Omegas often have to be their eggs and marbles umbrella. For young marbles they need to be able to teach them how to fly. Gliding from one building over to the next back and forth in practice. The omega will grab them with their feet and fly them back up when done. They also have to make sure they don’t stray too far out of their territory. They have amazing vision and could see others from miles away. They start trusting them to fend for themselves when about 16 and can fully fly without any help. Goblin gargoyles don’t look after any eggs and simply trust the safety and security of the nests and that no threat enters the territory as it’s usually hidden. Now as for their marbles… they actually are born practically knowing how to fly already! They bring them along with them during the night and they keep an eye on them until they start presenting then they are are able to watch themselves. Wild. What most would call irresponsible parenting they would call about average. Sea gargoyles will watch the eggs but once they hatch out they have to look out for themselves when they’re gone. Trusting them to not leave their territory. They don’t even bring em along. Poor marbles. You’d think for the one that has the biggest pack formations they’d have at least one person watching them but nope. Once fully grown they can venture out. Mimic gargoyles always carry their eggs and marbles with them. Which may seem a bit dangerous but you know. They don’t ever let em out of their sights. Each one caring for one until they reach adulthood (18). Those with the curse can have marbles but don’t raise them and their fate would be left to the world or their master taking care of them. They are born with the curse as well.
Territories: True gargoyles most always seem to form any territories around cities or citadels. Occasionally small towns but most often they look for places to build dens/master bedrooms/fortresses/nests. Which for them is any tall structures or buildings. Varying in size and often are marked and drawn out like airspace’s. Goblin gargoyles prefer cities and towns as well but instead make their homes underground. Usually residing in subways or caves. Their territories are defined by the whole of the city or town. Sea gargoyles often reside in shorelines and their territory consists of a shoreline. Mimic gargoyles don’t maintain any consistent territories and normally instead travel place to place. Those with the gargoyles curse guard territories of their master. If they do not have a master they simply don’t have any.
Dens/nests/fortresses/master bedrooms: (The following is true for true gargoyles) Alphas often build their dens at the highest point of their building and are built wide and deck like. Often built from stone, concrete or rubble they happen upon. They dedicate only a tiny portion to shelter and the rest go to having a lot of space for others to walk around or land on. Omegas build theirs on the lowest level (lowest for them being 10 stories up) and have the same materials being used by alphas only with the added comfort of having tarp like bedding. How soft. Fortresses are often built only slightly above nests and are fully encased in those materials with seemingly no point of entry. They often seal themselves inside and then break it open to let themselves and others in. Though this maybe why they often are waking up frequently during what is supposed to be a hibernation stage because their bodies simply can’t tell if it is summer or not. For the master bedrooms they simply take up vacant rooms of the building above the other two but below the alphas. (Goblin Gargoyles) They actually only build fortresses no matter what the second gender and they all sleep together in there. Sealing it like the true gargoyles would. However their internal clocks seem to be way better at guessing when to awake. (Sea gargoyles) They all only nest no matter what the second gender and will make it out of sand. Almost burying themselves during the day. For mimics this depends on what species they mimic! As for the ones that are cursed they don’t build anything. Though they do have a habit of staying just outside of buildings and sleeping there.
Heat/rut cycles and the number of marbles per second gender: For true gargoyles heat/rut cycles happen for alphas/betas/omegas every 3 weeks and they last about 4-7 days. The marquesses have theirs every week or two and aren’t really consistent in duration and have mainly ruts but also go through heats where as for marchionesses have mainly heats but also go through ruts. The tyrants all only happen once a month and last for 2 days. For goblin gargoyles alphas/betas/omegas have them once a week and last two days! For the other second genders though it remains the same as the other. (This will also be true for the rest of the ones I mention except for the cursed ones which I will get to.) For sea gargoyles their alphas/betas/omegas have their heat/ruts every month and last 4-7 days. For mimics this heavily depends on what species they are mimicking! And cursed ones actually do go through them and are typically the same as humans. (Which is mentioned in my Omegaverse AU/headcanons ultimate edition post which is pinned if ya wanna check it out) During hibernation all their bodies turn fully into pure stone and thus they actually don’t have to deal with heats/ruts at all during the summer months! This is again true for all except the cursed ones which stay active all throughout the year.
Fertility: (True gargoyles) Alphas can lay 1-5 eggs at a time with the most common number being 5. Beta males can lay 1-2 eggs at a time with the most common number being 2. Beta females can lay 1-3 eggs at a time with the most common number being 1. Omegas can lay 1-14 eggs at a time with the most common number being 1. Marquesses can lay 1-10 with the most common number being 3. Marchionesses can lay 1-10 with the most common number being 3. Tyrant alphas can lay 1-23 eggs with the most common number being 23. Tyrant betas can lay 1-23 eggs with the most common number being 13. Tyrant omegas can never lay eggs. (Goblin gargoyles) All second genders except tyrant omegas can lay 1-3 eggs with the most common number being 3. Tyrant omegas never lay eggs. (Sea gargoyles) All second genders except tyrant omegas can lay 1-2 with the most common number being 1. Tyrant omegas never lay eggs. (Mimic gargoyles) This yet again depends upon which species they are mimicking. Cursed ones no matter what will only have 1 unless of course they are a tyrant omega and won’t have any.
Presenting: For all species they start presenting at 10. For true gargoyles their wings are fully grown by this point and look much bigger than they are for a long while until they grow more into them. For goblin gargoyles by this time they will have been on their own a lot and have a lot of independence but also get a bit full of themselves at this time. Sea gargoyles will have learned how to swim much faster utilizing their back fins that are also now slowly developing thin layers of scales that will be used for gliding just above the water. Mimic gargoyles start feeling less clingy to their parents and will want to walk beside them instead of being carried. Though may frequently go for piggyback rides anyways. For cursed ones this simply means the start of annoying cycles and are still stuck with a smooth spot on their necks for being picked up.
Scenting/marking: They all mark both each other and the spaces they live in. Sea gargoyles have the most peculiar habits however. They not only tend to scent each other each day but also don’t mark around their territories at all! Bizarre right? Not even the nests they reside in. Now why is it that they find it’s more important to mark each other rather than anything else? Not sure. However they also value doing that to things they own as well. Not unique to them of course but it’s weird its only those two things.
Bond bites: With all gargoyles apart from goblin gargoyles and true gargoyles they actually seem to hold no value in forging bond bites and will simply not do so. Seeing it as more of a hindrance. Goblin gargoyles (especially the male betas which is interesting) like to bond bite or be bond bitten by their many partners. True gargoyles are more a one true pair sort of species and will often treat bond bites as a major commitment. And have it only be one partner typically.
Genetic stuff: For all species of gargoyles (minus cursed ones) there seems to be a 5% chance that any born that reach adulthood and enter hibernation may end up staying stone! A very scary genetic to have indeed and unfortunately the whole population carries it. Luckily it’s super recessive and like I said only affects 5% but yes very unfortunate nonetheless. Good luck sleeping knowing that.
And that’s all for this special species spotlight! As usual let me know if you want to see a certain species or subspecies covered and of course feel free to ask any questions you may have remaining regarding this or any other one I have mentioned previously!

• The Luciferian spellcastors have been manipulating the American psyche. They have secretly downloaded a cache of programming deep in the recesses of people's subconscious mind. And now the world's psyche is filled with an irrational hatred for the true Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. A hatred for His Laws, His Son and, His chosen people. But the Most High Ruakh is being poured out in this last days, so we know we have the victory. So we know it's just a matter of time before the Kingdom of heaven is manifest on earth as it is in the Shamain.
We must pray that we be granted Spiritual discernment and Holy Spirit inspired vigilance so we will be able to see things as they truly are , and not just as they appear to be.

The Spellcastor AU!
I’m happy to announce that outlining for my Castor Windchime AU of the Owl House is now underway!
The story is will be largely the same as in canon, but with the major addition of my TOH OC, Castor Windchime! A witch who was once in the illusions track with a love of storytelling and was childhood best friends with Eda, Lilith, and Raine! He and Eda live together at the Owl House and run the human collectibles stand, and all is fairly simple in their lives. That is, until a curious human with a dream to become a witch shows up through their portal.
I’m so so so so excited to start writing and sharing this with all of you! To see everyone’s adventures unfold with Castor in the mix is going to be so much fun, and very rewarding!
Stay tuned!

there was a boy meets world & sabrina the teenage witch crossover. not exactly horror, but canon that magic, witches, and a whole secret world of spellcastors with their own society, laws, and expectations exist in secret alongside these normal kids and mr. feeny.
I spend a lot of time thinking about that fact that any sitcom could be in the same universe as any modern horror setting without contradicting the canon of either franchise.
Friends is actually set in the World Of Darkness. Modern Family is actually set in Call Of Cthulhu. Bob’s Burgers is actually set in Kult. Prove me wrong, fuckers. Prove me wrong.

Man I hope Brondhar and his friends win the war they’re in, we whispers will wish them the best of luck. And if they ever need any help at all to call in us and we whispers shall be there for them (or they can call the others which also works to)
(Brondhar laughs,)
Brondhar: The best thing you lot can do for this war is to keep Virgil out of it! Things got a lot easier once he stopped batting for his home country, I'll tell you that.
Brondhar: He was a decent contact for our spy network, but we knew we would never get him to betray his family for us. Tazén died trying. And then, somehow, he found his way out of the underdark anyway!
Brondhar: They lost one of their most terrifying generals, and many of their greatest spies and spellcastors — his delightful sisters and brothers — have been scrambling over it ever since. Some have even gone missing looking for 'im.
(On the word "delightful," the dwarf's voice drips with sarcasm.)

There are probably a million reasons why sometimes spells just don’t work. Most of the time it comes down to needing to do the inner work or just waiting a little longer than you thought necessary for the magic to happen. Just like anything else, witchcraft is a practice and spell work takes time. So if you’ve been feeling out of focus with your casting there’s probably a reason why your spells aren’t checking out.
Read below for my top ten reasons why sometimes spells just don’t budge.
1 You didn’t do the inner work
The number one reason why magical intention doesn’t move the energy you wanted it to is because there are blocks, energy blocks. All these blocks are blocking up your ability to push forward to what you really want. Want to focus on more of your magic? Do the work to remove the blocks so you can forge ahead.
2 Your spell doesn't align with your highest intention
Yes we all have the greatest potential, but what if what you’re asking for isn’t really aligning with that? Maybe you’re destined for bigger things…like owning that big company but you’re asking for a small fry raise at a place that drives you crazy with a toxic boss instead? If you have a calling go for it, don’t settle for second best. Your magic will help you more when you’re aligned with what you’re supposed to do.
3 You don’t have enough focus
Spells are hard to perform. They’re even harder with kids, siblings, noisey housemates or any other interruptions bargingin in during your ritual work. If you really think you weren’t focusing enough, don’t force it. Just try the spell again when you can get a little quiet time instead.
4 It just didn’t work
For reasons beyond understanding it just wasn’t meant for you (or me). I like to think of cases like this where my spirits are looking down the tunnel of my future and saving me from some really horrible outcome. So I say in instances like these, don’t force it, just go with the flow.
5 You’re meant to focus your energy elsewhere
Just like the spell not aligning with your highest intention, it could be that your energy is needed elsewhere. Pay attention to where you are being drawn to. Something better could be waiting around the corner.
6 You just need to practice
Pushing your magical energy out there to attract what you want in your life is not an easy task. It takes many years of dedication and practice to get it right. No one is perfect at it, and especially if you’re just starting out you may just need to practice. Don’t get frustrated, just like anything else, practice makes spells perfect.
7 You really don’t want it
Did someone beg you to perform the spell (the worst). Or is it something you really don’t want to do or happen? Dig deep and really ask yourself those hard questions. Are you manifesting what you truly want for yourself?
8 The spell you used was off
Spells are weird. And there are a LOT of bad spells. Sometimes it’s hard to see which spells are not it and maybe the one you’re using just isn’t vibing with your energy. If it’s something you really want, switch up the spell and try again.
9 You don’t believe
Belief is the number one drive in your magical force. If you don’t believe it's like driving a car with no gas in the tank. Believe, believe, believe.
10 You’re just having an off day
Maybe you're just having an off day. It could be the planetary alignment, some funky person bothering your vibe at the gym, or a multitude of reasons why your energy was off. Even the best witches have off days. Dust off your spell and try again.

While everyone else sleeps, the sorcerer goes to visit the warlock. She goes to his home and finds out he is in the library of the living manor. She finds him there and explains what he missed, while she explains that he finds three crystals and a fourth one forming, hidden in a wall behind some books. They touch them and find the true name of the magician and musician, unspeakable in mortal tongue. They also take some phycic damage.
They find a picture book for the gardener as well as the gardener who explains happily to the warlock in Celestial that the picture book is about her father's toy John who wandered into the plane of madness a millenia ago and has been sculpted by her father in many ways since. The warlock doesn't understand Celestial bit the sorcerer does so she just stands there in horror listening to this.
They leave to the plane of madness to search for the musician and accidentally draw the full attention of the fate eater, the get many points of Insanity as well as phycic damage. She informs them that she has learned of her grandsons treachery and has blocked him from the plane of madness, but she has a hostage. The gardener.
They run back to the (no longer) empire. The warlock watches as a child mage hands the sorcerer's necklace of interdimensional travel off of her. He chases after her and all of them jump through the portal the child opened to the plane of madness. The warlock slaps the child then feels bad immediately. The child (like 13) explains that her brother got one of those necklaces and disappeared and she had tracked him here, the sorcerer and warlock agree to go with her into the immortal labyrinth.
They all have to roll death saving throws when they encounter three mimics. These are two level 8 spellcastors.
They return to the dragon dimension (the sorcerer's monestary). And find that the forest is still on fire, many people were injured in an attempt to put out the flames. Two clerics are nearby, a Cleric of the dragon of fate who they met earlier, who fails to heal them, and a Cleric of the dragon of death, who heals them easily. They take a long rest. The warlock asks a deer "hey! What happened to the forest?" The deer says "the same thing that always happened, foolish men and their hubris. They leave a spark out, a tortch, a campfire, and let the flame consume our land and my brothers." The warlock replies "Oh! I'm sorry did you see what started it?" The deer says, "yes me and my brothers observed the cult of the fate eater from the treeline, they carved names into the trees. I do not care for the names and I do not care for the trees, who am I to judge what they deign to carve? Then three women came and spoke with the leader in her tent. We watched them leave as her tent burned, the cult tried to chase after them but returned to try and douse the flames. The flames consumed my brothers and I still remember the smell of their burning flesh and the sound of their screams as I fled. And now I have one of my brothers fouls, and that is why I do not attack the woman with you who I know is responsibly for the hell that my home has become. The forest is angry with her." And the warlock says "okay!" And walks away. The sorcerer, the warlock and the child return to the (former) empire to get help and watch the musician break free from the castle and approach the town.
End session
Just a little dnd recap for the vibes. I haven't DMed in a while and I'm excited.
So our charecters are
Half elf sorcerer
Dwaven rogue
Knome warlock
I started them out all in different universes with their own NPCs and plot hooks. And them I had them all be visited by a man in a tophat and tailcoats called the magician. Then they traveled to a place I call The Living Manor in my notes it's a way to big manor with other buildings inside and there is alot to explore there but they were very excited for their magical keys and did alot of universe hopping and testing the rules.
So our warlock is insane but has a magical feild where someone would have to beat a DC 18 wisdom check to notice. He does not know what deal he made, but he ran into his nephew in the manor who started telling him that his sister is very sick and probably won't make it. Which our warlock barely processes.
Our rogue steals two definitely cursed gems from the manor and our sorcerer takes lots of books (they are rebuilding a library she burnt down). They all follow our warlocks nephew through a door and end up back in his universe.
They meet an important family (the dragontamers, I adore them.) The rogue pawns off a cursed gem. Warlock runs into his husband, momentarily has his sanity back tries to tell his husband that something is very wrong with him. But his husband failed the roll. The warlock remembers his sister and goes to see her and she succeeds her roll the second time and they talk it out in a rushed panic for a while.
Meanwhile our sorcerer steals from a library and our rogue learns all the gossip in town while trying to contact her friend and putting together that they are in another dimension.
They barter for a comprehend languages spell and sleep in the home of the matriarch of the dragontamer family. Then they journey to the rogues dimension to discover that her friend has been tortured in a strange way, he tries to tell them all he can but his memory has been modified, something with the nobility and a cult and a ruby.
They heal him up, he reveals that he has been to the manor. They talk to the magician again who heals the sorcerer after she hurts herself trying to read his thoughts. He mentions that he doesn't controll the nobility nor does he own the manor.
They go back to the rogues dimension, she enters the home of the nobility she knows stole the ruby, finds his wife laying in bed, stabs her, gets blasted to hell. Steals a painting but not the ruby, and escapes. The others go to a library and steal more books. Then the rogue requests the magician heal her in exchange for a favor, he does so and requests she steal back a cursed book from the bartender of the Litches Brew. She seduces the bartender and steals the book, the bartender knows she is stealing it but let's her off just this once.
They return to the rogues world and talk to her friend to discover that the nobility have been buying up organs and corpses of powerful wizards. He says he has heard about some cult stuff. They investigate the churches of Pelor and the Matron of Ravens who both feel uneasy about the people not from their dimension and make it clear. They summon the magician to see if he can walk inside the Temples and he cannot.
Then they go to the library, talk to the librarian, learn about a broken into crypt. The crypt is supposed to be magically sealed. The door is ajar, they venture down to find all of the traps have been sprung and the corpse of the wizard is gone.
Session ends!

RASAERI a.k.a. EERIE: Druid badass working as a self employed craft master of the magical arts ✨My first OC 🌚 if you become her enemy, she'll make you pay. She only trusts a few people. But if you need help with capturing dark creatures/ breaking curses/ casting spells, she’ll deliver. The gazelle eye tattoo is her connection to her animal familiar with whom she shares power. Together, they are a force to reckon with. (NOT MY ART) Credit to @maeeeng (check her out on instagram) for sketching out my OC!
