[A TRAGEDY TURNED COMEDY] PT 1
[notes, chapter will be written the the 3rd perspective and percys perspective / the gods are based on both epic and pjo first one to tell me how many words there are gets to have their oc in the story/ can decide what oneshoti write, same goes to the first person who likes this post!] @dayz72,tagged as requested!
CHAPTER ONE: HOW IT ALL UNFOLDS:
3prs pov:
It was a normal day in camp halfblood, well, atleast as normal as a day in camp could be.
Could you blame them? Near all of the kids were war veterans and most likely traumatised! So naturally they were in the mood for relaxing, doing chores and playing game.
But none of them would expect that camp life would change in just an hour, taking an unexpected yet fun twist:
For no one knew what the gods were debating up in Olympus, all exept for one percy jackson
percy pov:
I sighed as I stood in the throne room of the gods, they were debating something and I, for some weird reason, had to join.
The gods looked different today, I noticed.
My dad had blueish hair and skit, so longer looking like a complete mortal and wearing -oh my gods is that some kind of a speedo?!
I shook my head and looked around still, hephastios stayed in his regular clothes, if you could even call it that, they were tattered, torn and covered in oil stains
Ares still wore his armour, no surprise there, and surprisingly , so did athena, still scrutinising me with that stern look that I was still somewhat afraid of.
Again my eyes wandered, Aphrodite and demeter seemed normal so did Dionysius
-wait, what in the hades is hermes wearing?!
It was far more extravagant then the joggingwear or Mailman outfit I usually saw him in: a fur coat, sunglasses-
He reminded me of a sixties cult-leader- rich person.
Apollo was in his lester form, wearing a chiron and absent-mindedly strumming his lyre.
I looked around still , trying to find the next big change, and that was zeus and hera
-what the hell, why is my dad and zeus wearing something like speedos hera?? Why does she looks like a disco lady?????
Zeus' booming voice echoed through the hall:
《 Gods of Olympus! And visitor percy jackson-》
I scoffed under my breath, -seriously?
《The council has made a decision! Dionysius' curse has been lifted!-》
I grinned
-I didn't have to deal with Mr.D anymore?! Finaly my name would be memorised!
《And in his place-》 zeus glanced at athena and sighed, gesturing her to continue
《and in his place will be-》 athena smiled. And I had to do a double take, athena was smiling?!
《None other than Odysseus!》
Odysseus. That name certainly rang a bell, considering Annabeth told me all about it, after all. Nobody. The husband of penelope . Father of telemachus. That Odysseus, who else would it be?
My father grumbled, huffing and looking away.
Apparently he didn't like Odysseus too much for poking polyphemus eye out. Favouritism, he gets mad when someone pokes my mean rude and murderous brothers eye, but not when I have to fight wars.
Like I said, favouritism.
But one question still remained:
《Lord zeus, why do I have to be here? Annabeth would be thrilled to hear this, while im....uh...not so much》
My dad sighed once more 《Percy, me and Odysseus....have....painful history-》
Athena glared at him
-ah, there was the Athena I knew
He continued 《-and so the others thought that you would be our best bet to...let's say, mend that relationship》
Athena nodded 《correct, and with that, Hades, it's your turn.》
I looked puzzled for a moment, untill Hades summoned a whole bunch of people, and a man with shaggy brown hair, who was most likely Odysseus, spoke up:
《Where....where are we?》

i was playing splatoon and thinking about motorcity... and u know what happens when you think of two things at the same time lol take these messy sketches!
Summarized ID: Multiple sketches of Motorcity characters as if they were in the splatoon universe, most are octolings but others are different species
FULL ID UNDER CUT:
First image has Mike Chilton, here named "Mike Chilfin" with his back to the camera, smirking over his shoulder. He's an octoling, with his canon hairstyle except instead of two little hair tufts at the top, it's a tentacle sucker. There's an ink tank on his back and he's holding a staff with two Splatana Stampers on the ends. It's modified and held together by tape. Beside him is his octopus form, with a square head and brown ink.
Next to him, weilding a five pronged Tri-Stringer, is Chuck. Here named "Muck". His ink colour is yellow and his octopus form has long, curling, tentacles.
On the left side of the page is two drawings. One of a Salmonid with one eye missing, and another of a Sanitized Octocopter (Green Octarian with flying device on head) with one eye. Notes beside it say: "Reef?" "Salmonid Roth or Octo Roth?"
Second image shows a bust of Kane. He's an Inkling, and here named "Abalone Kane." His squid form has two long tentacles in the back and two short ones in the front. His rattail is a tentacle with a sucker on the inside.
There's a bust of Julie. Her hair is long tentacles. She's an inkling. Her Squid form has two long tentacles and then slightly shorter ones in the front. There's a note beside her that says "uses dualies"
Then an almost full body of Mike Chilfin but in Octoling armour. He's wearing goggles, a black crop top with silver plates over it, black shorts, black elbow-length fingerless gloves, and is holding an Octoshot. Seaweed is placed behind his ears and curves upwards above his head.
A headshot of Dutch, with the Octoling Afro hairstyle. And a headshot of Claire, who is an Inkling. Her square bun is now a tentacle tied around itself and she has earrings in her triangular ears.
Third image shows Jacob as a shrimp much like Crusty Sean. He has two claws instead of hands and six little arms in the front of his fried-looking shrimp body. Hard to explain. Imagine a shrimp fried in breadcrumbs. That's his body. Two legs on the bottom.
There's a half finished drawing of Texas but as a Inkling Salmonid hybrid. He's got a connected eyemask, fins for ears, and a tail. There's a red X next to him. Then a small drawing of a Texas starfish with a hat on it.
On the left of the page is Texas as a Mussel. His body is how it looks in the show, humanoid and muscular, but his head is a clam with cartoony eyes and a little hat on top. His mouth is open. There's a green checkmark next to him and an arrow pointing to him labelled "Mussel!" Above him is the Mussel Texas but in a sexy "paint me like your french girls pose". He's wearing a black speedo.
Fourth image shows the Duke of Detroit, here named "The Duke of Detrout" in the right hand corner is a turnaround of The Duke of Detroit in the show, and below it is a picture of a Lionfish. Scattered around the page are Duke as a Lionfish. His hair is striped and prongs stick out of him, mimicking his cape and the Lionfish's fins. His arms are elongated fins and his eyes are black. Instead of facial hair, there are stripes on his face mimicking the goatee and mustache.

I think people here are confused about how endorsements work. “Fanatics exclusive” athletes are under contract with Fanatics for memorabilia - signed helmets, jerseys, etc. But that doesn’t cover other categories. Joe for example has a deal with Nike because he wears their shoes. And seemingly also now has a deal with Alo to wear their leisurewear.
These contracts can get quite complicated in terms of overlap and non compete clauses. Michael Phelps had a “pool deck” agreement with Speedo and Under Armour where he wore some Speedo stuff while actually competing (on the “pool deck”) but otherwise was a spokesperson for UA.
Yes, Joe has the power in this because he can take his memorabilia to another vendor if he wanted to. Michael Rubin isn't out here demanding Joe come to his party or he's canceling the deal. Joe went because he wanted to be there not because he felt an obligation to the CEO of the company that helps him sell his autograph.
Joe makes Fanatics money.

Favorite Namor costume other than the classic?
The problem is I admire the classic silver age design- green Speedo, gold bracelets, buccaneer earring if you're lucky- so much for its elegant simplicity. It updates the golden age costume (which is even simpler, the black or red speedo with stylish stripe) with a more fantasy aesthetic while maintaining its character.
His dress-up formalwear is a highlight, such as for re-coronations, tyrannical rule or weddings. His silly helmet-crown makes me laugh but a grand cape suits him.
Tumblr media
In terms of superhero costumes, I am fond of his rehydrating Reed Richards-designed black seventies suit.
Tumblr media
It maintains the crucial aspect of Namor's design, cleanliness and simplicity, but it adds a little structure with the shoulders that adds a regal quality. The shininess makes it wetsuit-like which is important. The other most important aspect of a Namor costume, in my opinion, is practicality. Namor's classic design is a swimsuit (he's not in his underwear!) because he is an aquatic hero and swims all the time. The weird gold armpit wings look like flippers or fish fins and I also like how even the big belt looks like a wrestling trophy. This costume encapsulates Namor's main activities, swimming and fighting. In fact, you could tell that just by looking at it if you never seen Namor before. You look at this guy and you know he's a swimmer and you know he's a bare knuckle brawler.
Honourable mention: his short-lived X-Men costume from X-Men Red!
Tumblr media
Possibly a few too many panels and colours to count as simple, however very practical and the short sleeves and wrist warmers are very sporty, very him.
Now for some self indulgent complaining 😈
The two criteria we've gathered for a good Namor costume are: 1) simplicity, 2) practicality.
Tumblr media
This thing is 1) complicated, so much so that no artist has ever drawn it the same way as another, and 2) impractical, as he is covered in heavy armour stupid for swimming (setting aside his superstrength) and dangling chains for enemies to grab onto. What is with that gap between the... Belt? And the buckle??? Is the stylised seashell emblem glued to his skin? I understand the royal -> armour instinct but I think it must be resisted in Namor's case, based on the criteria we've set out but also because Namor's powerset leaves him far less vulnerable to the injuries armour protects you from. (Unless it's a special powerup like the sacred armour of Atlantis from the 90s series, of course, which is just rad).
In addition I notice that in a great many AU designs or fan redesigns of Namor's costume, artists will frequently give him a panel of additional fabric on the front of his swimsuit for no reason, I suppose to look archaic but it always pisses me off. For instance ultimate Namor has one (but I won't post any pictures because those issues are shit and Greg Land is garbage).

New AU... Again
So, I was looking through tv tropes and found a "My Hero Academia" fanfic in which several of Class 1-A are revealed to be reincarnations and got to thinking: How would a similar concept with fewer crossovers work for MHA?
Here's how I think it goes: Izuku wakes up after a villain attack on Aldera Middle School to find himself in a strange red-colored place that looks similar to the subway system. The first person he sees is a girl about one year older than him trying to fight off an adult male in... a PINK SPEEDO?!?! Somehow this unlocks Izuku's memories from his previous life and goes completely feral on the perverted adult, who strangely evaporates into black mist after getting beaten up. The girl thanks Izuku and introduces herself as Kairi Aizawa, the adopted daughter of Eraserhead. But when they go to shake hands, their memories fully awaken.
Who the reincarnations are:
Izuku Midoriya, formally Akira Kurusu aka Joker of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Awakens Arsene as both his persona and his quirk. Hero costume is his phantom thief attire but more armoured. Uses a combat knife, grappling hook and specialized face mask as support gear. Still gets One for All from All Might.
Tenya Iida, formally Ryuji Sakamoto aka Skull. Quirk is still Engine but gets his original persona Captain Kidd back. Hero costume is similar to his canon one but looks like it was made from pieces of scrap and the helmet is replaced by his thief mask and a red bandana on his head. Uses collapsible mace as support gear. Dyes a blond streak into his hair, much to his parent's chagrin.
Ochako Uraraka, formally Ann Takamaki aka Panther. Has canon quirk but gets the persona Carmen. Hero costume is the same but has some red instead of pink and helmet is replaced with her thief mask. Uses a whip as support gear. Becomes Mineta's worst nightmare.
Eijiro Kirishima, formally Yusuke Kitagawa aka Fox. Had his original quirk stolen by All for One at age six but had a second one in the form of Ink Control/Celestial Brush. Regains persona Goemon. Uses a katana and collapsible gaint calligraphy brush as support gear. Does commissioned artwork for civilians and heroes alike.
Toru Hagakure, formally Makoto Niijima aka Queen. Also had her quirk stolen but trained hard in martial arts to compensate. Gets Johanna as her persona again. Uses knuckle dusters and armoured boots as support gear.
Mei Hatsume-Shirokumo, formally Futaba Sakura aka Oracle. Pretty much like canon but with Necronomicon added in. Inventions don't blow up and isn't as crazy in canon. If needing to fight, she uses original thief attire and a modified stun gun.
Momo Yaoyorozu, formally Haru Okumura aka Noire. Hero costume is thief attire with zippers for access to her quirk. Regains Milady. Uses battle axe as support gear. Finds it funny that she's rich in both lives and that the Okumura fortune was added to the Yaoyorozu fortune.
Hitoshi Shinso-Yamada, formally Goro Akechi aka Crow aka Black Mask. Brainwashing quirk was replaced with Raven Wings. Hero costume is dark, tattered version of his Crow attire. Persona is Robin Hood. Has collapsible sword for support gear. Is discovered to be Hawks' younger brother who was sold off by their parents.
Kairi Aizawa, formally Zenkichi Hasagawa aka Wolf. Quirk is Energy Chains. Persona is Valjean. Uses European long sword as support gear. Hero costume is thief attire. Was orphaned at age two and adopted by Aizawa at age ten. Is supposed to be a second year but was held back for some reason. (No one tries to understand Nedzu's reason for it)
Inasa Yoarashi, formally Morgana aka Mona. Has Zorro as persona. Has original wind quirk but also gained cat features from Grandmother's Jaguar quirk. Hates Bakugo from start as Bakugo taunted him saying stupid cats like him need to go back to the alleyways where they belong; Inasa turned Bakugo into a scratching post. Has a cutlass as support gear. Hero name is Slate, referencing his past life's status as a blank slate at first meeting Akira and Ryuji.
Himiko Toga, formally Sumire Yoshizawa aka Violet. Hates her quirk but is learning to control both it and her obsession with blood. Regains Cendrillon as persona and uses a rapier. Has taken up gymnastics and ballet.
Melissa Shields, formally Sophia aka Sophie. Gets Pandora as persona. Still quirkless. Uses combat yo-yos.
Other reincarnations are:
Tensei Iida, formally Kanji Tatsumi. Is unable to summon it but can talk to former persona, Take-Mikazuchi. Finds it hilarious that he and his brother were punks who dyed their hair blond, really cared about their moms, had skull motifs in their personas and used Zio(lightning) spells.#
Toshinori Yagi aka All Might, formally Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th. Met Izuku same way in canon but was surprised by Arsene's appearance. Learns about personas that day. Give One for All to Izuku to regain full use of the Wild Card ability.+
Shouta Aizawa aka Eraserhead, formally Shinjiro Aragaki. Has Castor. Hates himself for dying like he did but consuls himself that he was a hero. In a three-way relationship with Present Mic and Loud Cloud. Adopted Kairi.*
Hizashi Yamada aka Present Mic, formally Akihiko Sanada. Has Polydeuces. Has nightmares of when Shinjiro and Miki died but they are replaced with Shouta or their kids. In a three-way relationship with Eraserhead and Loud Cloud. Adopted Hitoshi.*
Oboro Shirokumo aka Loud Cloud, formally Minato Arisato. Has Orpheus. Has nightmares of his near death experience. In a three-way relationship with Present Mic and Eraserhead. Adopted Mei after her parents resigned custody over her to the foster system for her "worthless quirk".*
@@@@@@
#= hit to the head awakened memories
+= gained memories over time
*= awakened through trauma

Smart Watch Series 7 : A Luxury Brand For All Mankind
Tumblr media
Fortunately for you a new brand has emerged “Address Tech” With Smart wearable Gadgets including Smart Watches at a very competitive prices with only 4,999 INR Giving you complete features and look alike feel of top brands in the industry
This review is focused on Smart Watch Ultra for Men and Women.
Tumblr media
Although the 46mm version is a little bigger, I found it to be pretty comfortable on my wrist, and the advantages are rather clear: A larger screen and a longer battery life are two things that are particularly essential to me. And occasionally, the stainless-steel silver shine still manages to capture my eye. in light of this, regardless of your wrist or gender
Our new Smart Watch Series 7 and Series 8 is all equipped with Latest 1.15GHz Exynos 9110 dual-core processor and 4GB of storage. The noncellular editions, however, have 748MB of RAM while the LTE editions come with 1.5GB.
Main difference between the Smart watch Series 7 New Smart Watch Series 8 series are the new founf GPS Tracking System and Bluetooth Calling Features found in the inside
The Smart Watch for men Series 8 Ultra is waterproof up to 50 meters. This Smart Watch for women is specially designed to be swim-proof, detect their periods including those who love to swim in salt water. Rinse a little your Smart Watch belt or strap and Display after swimming in such conditions.
You will get around four days of battery Life in Series 8 and 3 days of Battery life from Series 7 Smart Watch models. I will provide more details of Smart Watch Series 7 battery life further below.
The fact that former Smart Watch FK88 models now track 39 tracked workouts in total and 21 indoor exercises is a result of significant upgrade in the technology. The Address Tech Smart Watch — Health app is connected to the fitness and sleep tracking functions, and there are also tie-ins to other well-known fitness applications like Under Armour, MayMyRun, Speedo, and others. As promised, Your Smart Watch Amoled Display is Crack Proof and also comes with a stress-management software that I have undoubtedly found helpful when situations call for a few deep breaths.
I’ve used this smart watch for kids at my homes for my offsprings specifically, and over that time I’ve seen the sleep-tracking feature get better thanks to recurring upgrades. When your Smart Watch monito heart rater continually as opposed to the battery-saving once every ten-minute setting, I found it to be more accurate. Although the Smart Watch for men, women and kids performs admirably overall, keep in mind that BoAt and Garmin watches offer less accurate sleep tracking for people for whom this feature is important.
The same caution applies to exercise experts who, for a variety of reasons, strive for perfection in their Smart watch Fitness workout monitoring. All of these watches are undoubtedly a motivational component to meet daily goals for steps taken, activity performed, and calories burned. Additionally, to better understand the relationship between your calorie intake and burns, I advise manually recording your intake of food, water, and coffee. For those Apple Watch devotees, I must say that the step and distance monitoring in Address tech Smart Watch needs no improvement to match that of Apple or Samsung For that matter.
Adequately tracked by Address Tech Smart Watch Workout regime of 3–4 mile runs along with a few simple workouts, especially with its software update improved GPS performance. With a weekly and monthly schedule, I am always motivated to accomplish my daily goals as well as make them better. I do have to admit, though, that the hourly reminders to get up from my desk and move around are far simpler than the 250 steps required by Firebolt.
To those who like to use voice commands, Edith is AddressTechs voice assistant at your service in the New Smart Watch Limited Edition. You can voice various commands such as “Play music” and “Start workout,” and also ask questions such as “What’s the weather?” To the delight of many — especially my neighbor’s kids who like to bug me by answering to text messages on my watch — you can reply to text messages. Search on Google Smart Watch Series 8 Ultra on Flipkart and Amazon with your voice command and Book your colour of choice today.
If you have a Smart Watch Series 7 , you’ll be just fine with a variety of different pairings and apps with your Kids Smart Watch Series 7. The optimization is also good with other Android phones and to some degree with iPhones.
Like me, you could have the impression that the smart watch industry is intensifying its competition with the Apple Watch by introducing a number of mobile brand items to entice consumers to buy their goods in bundles. Apple and Samsung are the market leaders for wearable goods and have achieved extraordinary success in this area. However, Apple and Samsung are both becoming aware that consumers’ attention is turning away from traditional fitness trackers and toward the new Series 7 and Series 8 smartwatches, which offer an all-in-one, variety of everything in a single gadget package.
There are already some areas where the AddressTech Smart Watch outperforms the Apple Watch and still draws buyers. The primary characteristic and distinction between AddressTech watches and Apple watches is their circular faces as opposed to their square counterparts. Simply a question of taste, this is a contentious subject among my friends. Numerous round-table arguments at dinner have really caused some of my friends to stop talking to me for a few days! I’m kidding, but it’s still the subject of a heated discussion.

Tips for Finding the Perfect Fit
To ensure you find the perfect fit in designer swimwear for your athletic body, consider these essential tips that focus on comfort, functionality, and style to complement your active lifestyle.
One key factor to keep in mind when choosing workout-friendly swimwear is the fabric. Opt for materials that are durable, quick-drying, and provide ample support. Look for features like adjustable straps, underwire, or built-in bras for added comfort and security during your activities.
Consider the design elements such as racerback styles for enhanced mobility and high-waisted bottoms for a flattering look that stays in place during movement.
By paying attention to these details, you can find swimwear that not only fits well but also enhances your performance in and out of the water.
Know Your Measurements
One of the key tips for finding the perfect fit in designer swimwear is to know your measurements accurately, ensuring that you select sizes that align with your body proportions and offer the right level of support for your active lifestyle.
When it comes to swimwear for active lifestyles, understanding your body measurements is crucial as it can significantly impact how comfortable and functional your swimsuit will be. To measure accurately, use a soft measuring tape and follow a guide to determine your bust, waist, and hip measurements. Choosing the right size based on these measurements ensures that your swimwear fits properly, allowing you to move freely and confidently during your water activities. Paying attention to sizing charts provided by swimwear brands can help you make informed decisions when selecting swimwear designs that suit your body type.
Read Reviews
Reading reviews from other customers can be a helpful way to gauge the fit, quality, and performance of designer swimwear, providing insights that can guide your purchasing decisions for swimwear that suits your athletic body type.
By delving into customer reviews, you can uncover details about how a specific swimsuit conforms to various body shapes and sizes, ensuring that your final choice not only aligns with your style preferences but also complements your physique.
These reviews often shed light on important aspects such as the fabric's comfort level, the durability of the stitching, and how well the swimsuit holds up after repeated wear and washing.
Taking the time to sift through these experiences shared by fellow shoppers can empower you to make informed decisions when selecting the perfect designer swimwear for your active lifestyle.
Consider Mix and Match Options
Opting for mix and match swimwear options allows you to customize your ensemble to suit your athletic body type, offering flexibility in selecting tops and bottoms that provide the perfect fit and style for your active lifestyle.
Mix and match swimwear sets are ideal for those with athletic figures as they give you the freedom to mix different colors, patterns, and styles. By choosing separate tops and bottoms, you can create a personalized look that complements your body shape and preferences. This versatility is perfect for active individuals who engage in various water activities, ensuring they have the right combination of pieces for each occasion. Mix and match sets can help you achieve the ideal fit, as you can select different sizes for the top and bottom, catering to your unique proportions.
How to Care for Your Designer Swimwear?
Proper care and maintenance are crucial for preserving the quality and longevity of your designer swimwear, so follow these essential tips to ensure your athletic swimwear stays in top condition season after season.
To start, after each use, be sure to rinse your swimwear in cool water to remove any chlorine, saltwater, or sunscreen residue that can damage the fabric over time.
Hand washing your designer swimwear with a mild detergent is highly recommended; avoid harsh detergents or machine washing as they can weaken the fibers and affect the elasticity of the material.
Protect your swimwear from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent colors from fading and fabric from deteriorating.
When storing your swimsuit, always lay it flat to avoid stretching and keep it away from rough surfaces to prevent snags and tears.
Rinse After Each Use
After each use, it's essential to rinse your designer swimwear thoroughly to remove salt, chlorine, and other residues that can damage the fabric and affect the color and elasticity of your athletic swimwear.
Neglecting to rinse your swimwear properly can lead to a host of issues. Salt can weaken the fibers, causing them to break down over time. Chlorine, often found in pools, can fade colors and make the material more prone to stretching. Residues from sweat and sunscreen can also build up, compromising the fabric's integrity.
By taking a few extra minutes to rinse your swimwear after each wear, you can significantly prolong its lifespan and keep it looking as good as new for many beach seasons to come.
Hand Wash with Mild Detergent
To maintain the integrity of your designer swimwear, hand washing with a mild detergent is recommended, as this gentle method helps preserve the fabric, colors, and overall quality of your athletic swimwear.
When you opt for hand washing your swimwear with a mild detergent, you are essentially giving your favorite pieces the royal treatment they deserve. This gentle approach not only ensures that the delicate fabrics retain their shape and softness but also helps to prevent any harsh chemical damage that could occur in machine washing. By taking the time to care for your designer swimwear in this manner, you are investing in their long-term durability and keeping them looking fresh season after season.
Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure
Excessive sun exposure can cause fading, stretching, and damage to your designer swimwear, so it's advisable to limit prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to maintain the color and shape of your athletic swimwear.
To protect your stylish swim pieces from sun damage, consider wearing a cover-up when not in the water to shield them from the harsh UV rays. Opt for fabrics with built-in SPF protection for added defense against sun-induced wear and tear.
Rinsing your swimwear in cool water after each wear can help remove salt, chlorine, and other residues that can lead to discoloration and deterioration. Storing your swimwear away from direct sunlight and heat sources can also extend its lifespan, keeping it looking vibrant and fitting well for many beach days to come.
Store Properly
Proper storage is essential for preserving the shape and quality of your designer swimwear, so be sure to air dry and store your athletic swimwear in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Allowing your swimwear to air dry naturally after each use helps to prevent moisture build-up, which can lead to mold and mildew growth. Avoid wringing out your designer swimwear vigorously, as this can distort the fabric and shape.
Opt for flat drying or hanging them on a clothesline to maintain their elasticity and color vibrancy. By storing your swimwear properly, you can ensure that your favorite pieces stay in top condition for many beach days to come.

W h a l e S h a r k
Whether it could be called a ‘beach’ was up for debate; erosion had long ago tightened its grip on the narrow inlet and worn away at the low sand banks so that harried parents struggling to watch their various children, flailing like tentacles in all directions, and easy lean sinuous sunbathers alike came to resent the theft of their precious sanctuaries and had resolved to deal with the problem decades earlier. The clumsy solution was two long grey slabs which tried their best to do a convincing impression of sand banks. Visually they were not successful, but the groups that gathered on the north and south sides seemed happy enough, and if the ground was a little harsh and unyielding, it was at least sand free and predictable in all weather conditions. The water too offered predictability, rarely rousing itself to a full swell but instead bobbing the swimmers gently while providing ample depths for environmentally conscious amateur snorkelers hoping to catch a glimpse of a blue groper, stringaree or elusive goatfish.
Standing on one of the slate banks at midday, the gently undulating lid of the water revealed and also concealed things within it, seeming utterly transparent and yet allowing things to carry on their silent,  solitary lives until a few inches from below the surface at which point it would be too late to do anything but gape in awe at the oncoming assault. Smaller children edged gingerly towards the sheer sides of the bank to ogle at the ocean and consider these possibilities.
✳ ✳ ✳
Day broke grey and still that day, hazy but sunlit, save for the slight menace of dark clouds remote and distant on the horizon. It was warm enough, and plenty of beachgoers thronged either side of the slice of water, darker and more ominous than usual in the clutch of its concrete arms. If it were a clearer day, the runes of the whale shark might have been noticed earlier, an exquisite dot painting gliding towards the bay, a messenger bearing correspondence no witness could have deciphered. In the harsh low overcast light though, the beast, no more than a shadow on the tide, was able to slip by eyes trained on its position, shielded by a bright glare that bounced off the gently bobbing peaks. It arrived in the corridor without any fanfare whatsoever, and by the time anyone had noticed the manmade banks enclosed him completely, providing awkward context for his size which now appeared ridiculous and overwhelming away from the vastness of the ocean proper.
The giant (for it was a giant) seemed so serene, carried as if by some inexorable momentum — but purposefully — through the water. Surely it couldn't be as calm as the sleek movement suggested though.  A thin and yet unfathomably deep barrier of cold blue water contained or deadened any effort on the giant’s part,  but still seemed ready at any moment to break and give way to the behemoth, revealing what would surely be its terrible, powerful true nature. Even the kinder members of its audience, gathered to the lip of the concrete, felt a strange tugging at the peripheries of their perception. It was at once sacred and profane to behold the creature, sacred in the open ocean but now framed like a horrible relief by their plinths, its beauty rendering their incursions into the headland all the more grotesque. It was an unwelcome, unsettling presence that everyone felt, from the leathery grandfathers in their speedos to the tots bedraggled by their wetsuits of armour. It didn’t seem likely to stop anytime soon.
Suddenly, with the smooth swiftness that all underwater things seem to have over their land locked counterparts, the head of the giant feinted an ascent towards the surface. It’s aura displaced the liquid around it, the surface tension of the water flexing and bending with the shape of it but not yet breaking forth and allowing the shark to pierce the air. Indigo clouds surged forward from the horizon, the sun dimmed or hid itself altogether and for a moment both sides of the banks formed a bridge over the enemy like a furrowed scowling brow, gripped with a sudden and singular purpose.
As the whale shark drifted finally into the sandy shallows at the end of its corridor procession, the north and south banks descended upon the beach. Spear fishers, fathers armed with plastic pails and spades, young women with parasols, elderly figures with orthopedic sandals fell upon the creature, bringing down as hammers of doom their full strength upon its back. Bird squawks carried on the wind, though what creature made them now no one could rightly say. Only when the frenzy had subsided did the shrieking seem to also die down into still silence.
✳ ✳ ✳
The sky, now darkened completely, allowed the depths of the whale shark’s eyes to perform their mirror trick to perfection. Each attacker, winded by the departure of the vehemence that had gripped them so abruptly, saw themselves reflected in those dark pools in the creature’s head. The seething pattern of its back was now a tawdry canvas, ripped and torn in long shredding motions down its length, its harmonious colour scheme punctuated by dark red hues of sagging wounds. Soon the sun would climb above the clouds once more, and a reeking stench would begin to rise up in wafting waves above the giant’s form. The harsh bright light beamed down upon the throng of the sand, piercing them all with its gaze, and they all averted their eyes from the deep reflecting pools, unable to face what they saw in there.
✳ ✳ ✳
These things cannot be allowed to fester
