More hetalia highschool AU, 🌟magic team🌟 edition :)
Under the cut bc it is long ❤️
Vladimir is that one kid obsessed with Twilight but only for the vampires; it was his first ever exposure to vampires thanks to his dad thinking Twilight was an appropriate book for a 11 year old. Team Edward going strong for five years, he'd proudly declare like it actually mattered. He tries his best to dress goth at school even though his uniform gets in the way. Fake ear piercings(his parents won't let him pierce them yet), over the top makeup, he's dyed the top half of his shoes black because his parents were concerned about his obsession with black and wouldn't buy him the black tennies he wanted— "mom look, these are marked down for back to school! Can I pleeeease get them???" "....may I know why the black ones specifically?" "They match the ever nothingness of my soul." "Yep! The white ones it is then!" "Mooooooooooom!"— Vladimir has been dubbed the cringy vampire kid of course.
Lukas is into pretty much anything concerning cryptids and magical creatures because they can't be proven to be fake or real, which intrigues him. He carries a book about mushrooms at all times and info dumps on pretty much anyone about identifying poisonous mushrooms and which mushrooms are safe to eat. His backpack is covered in buttons and pins to show off his interests. He keeps an amethyst in the front pocket of his backpack, reason unknown other than to just randomly pull it out and let Mikkel look at it. He's that kid that always wears his hoodie no matter the season, he never takes it off. Under his hoodie is always a crude worded t-shirt that the school would not approve of, much less his parents. He's relatively quiet and because he's quiet he's considered a weird kid.
Arthur can't decide if punk is his style or if goth is. Either way, his way of self expression at school in addition to the uniform is horrible. Checkered black/red shoes his grandma got him with his older brother's hand me down worn out greying socks—"can I PLEASE just have my own clothes???" "we have perfectly good clothes for you in the garage! I can fix them up to fit you better and everything!" "but I want cool NEW clothes!" "those are cool clothes and as far as the other kids know, they're also new. Now get your transformer backpack and get to the car. I put a new patch on it last night so that should hold it for the rest of the year."— Old Pierce the veil shirt, with holes chewed into the collar from his older brother Dillan, peeking out from under his white polo. A black and red choker to match his black and red slowly tearing apart too big flannel on top of a black pull over. A deep blue beanie, the hoodie of his pull over almost constantly on top when outside the school. He dyes a part of his hair a different color every month. He spikes his hair using too much gel and is convinced he looks good. He talks too much about bands and always gets Vlad and Lukas going on and on about fictional creatures he does not FULLY believe in himself. He does, however, believe in magic and loves Harry Potter, more specifically the Weaselys, to bits.
Natalya is a sophomore, a year behind the boys, and she just kinda pushed her way into the friend group until they eventually accepted her into it. They were the only three she knew who liked occult related topics. She's on the baseball team because she wanted an excuse to hit things with another thing and NOT get detention because of it. She wears the khaki uniform skirt and takes full advantage over being able to wear any kind of tights underneath; skull pattern, plain black, blood splatter pattern, fire pattern. Anything that makes her feel like a badass. She's always talking about antiques and forging weapons, more specifically knives. She has a whole collection of fidget toys but her favorite is this pea pod keychain her father gave her. She's always talking about how she'd like to be a medical examiner and to just prove that she's serious, she'll bring up a picture of a human model and point out the difference between a self inflicted fatal wound and a homicide. She puts up a charade of being able to see and talk to ghosts to freak out Alfred, her extended friend first met through Tolys.
They collectively believe they're cool and that other people know this. They're genuinely blind to the obvious snickers sent their way, being called losers and nerds. They're really knowm for like really pathetic things like; Natalya is Ivan's, tallest and most intimidating member of the wrestling team, weird younger sister by a year. Lukas is just the weird quiet kid that reads by the courtyard garden during lunch. Vladimir is not only the vampire goth kid but the kid who's parents believe the teachers are giving his son low grades on purpose and will yell at them for it. And Arthur is just. He's another Kirkland, immediately assumed to be a massive trouble maker because of his now graduated brother Alistair and one grade above him brother Dillan. Everyone loved his eldest brother Darick and sometimes compare him to Darick.
Compared to what others THINK they do, such as witch craft for some odd reason, the four of them do pretty typical teen activities. Like hang out at the mall. Do their honework together. Play video games and D&D when they have the chance. The boys do have sleepovers still as they have since meeting each other in middle school, Nat not really being a fan of sleeping where she doesn't live but comfortable enough to go to their houses and just chill for the day. They have become friends because of their related interests but thats not what they're ALL ABOUT.
Fun facts/stories about these losers I thought about while bored as fuck:
• Lukas, in his freshman year, went on a nature hike field trip with his lit class after reading Into The Wild. And he brought his mushroom book of course. They walked around, looking at the sights, talked about the book. Lukas just stops at one point, falling behind the class. He picks up a mushroom, goes to the teacher and is like "You see this? Its not poisonous." And straight up fucking eats it without warning. The teacher called an ambulance even though Lukas kept telling him he was fine and that that mushroom was 100% okay to eat raw, but for sure better off cooked. Lukas calmly shows the paramedics his book and they're like "yeah that actually was safe to eat, we don't need the book to confirm that, but um. Please don't ever pick something off the ground and eat it again. Just. Please don't do that, son." .....he did it again before leaving to go back to school but this time he didn't tell anyone.
• In elementary school, Natalya brought in a model of the human brain she asked her dad to borrow. He had to say yes because she was his only child genuinely interested, not bored of, his medical profession and he found it very cute and honoring. So she's at show and tell, its her turn right, and she silently goes up to the front of the class and pulls out the model brain. Teacher tries to step in because, hey, these are 6 year olds—AND WHY DOES THIS 6 YEAR OLD HAVE A PLASTIC BRAIN??? But Nat just shooshes her. In surprised shock, the teacher is just quiet as Nat begins to explain parts of the brain and their function— which was all wrong actually. She knew the words and everything but she didn't get the locations right. She sounded confident and smart and she was telling this to a bunch of 6 year olds so they believed her of course. End of the school day, her dad is having a hilarious conference with his youngest's teacher about the brain incident.
• Vladimir loves reading. He's loved it since he began to learn how, even if his dyslexia gives him grief along the way. So since he loves to read he'll always get excited and read ahead in class or in the public library reading club. One summer, the reading club was reading The Giver and it was getting really good. Vlad was loving the story, so much so that Vlad began to read ahead in his own time when he really wasn't supposed to be, the club was reading it together out loud and discussing it. Now he's read enough and worked hard enough to figure out how to help himself focus better and understand each word and sentence without having to reread it all multiple times over or get stuck. But sometimes the meaning and context to what he's reading doesn't ALWAYS process with the words as he's too focused on reading the words right and it passes right over his head. So Vlad is reading ahead and he's getting to the part where The Giver has given Jonas the memory of the sled again. And Vlad just sits there after reading that paragraph. He rereads it. And rereads it again. And then he leaves his book on his bed, goes to the the hall closet and takes out the ironing board. He grabs a plastic container to use as an ill attempt of a helmet and he just. Rockets down the staircase and hits the wall. He screams and cries and his parents rush in from the livingroom. When asked what happened he just says "I wanted to understand the sled scene better! Now I do and I feel really bad for Jonas!" He just couldn't quite grasp WHY the sled accident hurt, never had a broken bone nor sled afterall, and needed to find out. And that's how Vlad got his first broken arm at the age of 12.
• When Alfred and Matthew moved in with Arthur's family, Arthur didn't like it. He was a moody young teen but he was also just tired of the full house. His cousins were loud and nosey. He had to share a room with his four older brothers already and now with Matthew while Kathleen and Alfred got a room to themselves. Arthur thought this was so unfair. So his solution was to run away. He was 13, he needed a place to have some peace and quiet for once. So he texts Francis and Lukas, the only two of his friends living in his neighnorhood. Francis is not on board with helping him run away at first but then Lukas brings literally all his camping gear for Arthur's use and then Francis is on board because he had the feeling Arthur was going to get himself killed somehow. So as the elder one of the group he accompanied Arthur and Lukas out to the short stretch of woods behind the last street of their neighborhood, intending to go to the big clearing before hitting the roads leading to the airport and whatever else buildings. They're out there setting everything up together and they're done by like 4 pm. They sit down and talk, munch on oreos and other snacks Arthur deemed as essential survival foods. Then Francis looks at his cell and remarks "wow its already 6! Ah, Lukas, we should get home. Afterall, neither of us ran away so we still have supper to eat. Come on Lukas, let's go before our parents come looking for us." They exchange goodbyes, Francis trying his best to hide his cocky smirk. So Lukas and Francis start walking off, Arthur crawls into the tent and eats half a cookie before frowning and feeling too alone. He didn't expect to feel alone because all he wanted was to BE ALONE. Before he knows it, he's running out of the tent yelling after his friends to stop and wait up. "Oh whats wrong, Arthur? I thought you wanted to run away." "I— I forgot I hadn't fed my rabbit is all! I'll run away tomorrow! I'm not... Feeling lonely if.. If that's what you think...." Arthur did not run away the next day. Buuuuuut the three plus Vlad made a tree house together in the Kirkland backyard that they still use today!
#if you thought these four would be cool kids in this au then you thought wrong#hetalia#hetalia au#hetalia england#hetalia belarus#hetalia norway#hetalia romania#hetalia magic team#there should be more content of the magic losers + belarus tbh magic team is a bad group name but so fits their collective vibes so well

Minatozaki Sana
The youngest daughter from a very famous Author. Her father specialises in writing Horror- romance stories. He gained a lot of attention and praise for his book ("Midnight Dancing" a story about a stalker who films his coworker every day at midnight when she's dancing to music...). The emotions felt so real, was said by everyone. Little did they know that "story" was how her parents met. Her father loves her mother while she's afraid of him.
Everyone in school knows her as cute and creative. She's a wonderful student and person to be around. No one knows that her own mother thinks the opposite of her. Sana has a long scar on the left side of her head, it spreads from her hairline to her mouth. The cause was that her mother threw a porcelain vase at her, hitting her head. A shard sliced the left side of her face, leaving the scar behind.
Im Nayeon
As the Principals daughter and Student council Vice-president everyone has a lot of respect for her. She follows rules strictly and makes sure others as well. Despite that strict behind of hers, she still is very helpful and friendly. Many people love her because she's reliable and diligent.
She developed a secret hatred for Kim Namjoon, the Student Council President, for winning the vote leaving her as Vice-president. She loves to make life fore difficult for him in subtle ways zuch as misplacing the papers, losing an important letter from her father, making a mess etc. But he always manages to fulfill his part perfectly no matter what she tries.
Park Jihyo
She is everyone's first choice when they have a problem and need to talk about it. Always ready to listen and give advice when needed. In her free time she volunteers as a private tutor for all subjects but specifically biology, language and history. Her family has a very average income with her parents owning a small flower shop across the city. The only way she got accepted into Bulsajo High was through a scholarship.
The reason Jihyo has always been so motherly and protective was her little sister. She loved that little dumbling with all her heart but one day they went out shopping. While she was paying she left her little sister unattended. She couldn't find her anywhere. The police couldn't find her. Jihyo was desperate and restored to finding someone in the dark web, someone who can help her. And she did find someone. They send her the address of an old abandoned warehouse and that's where she went. But the sight that she saw was horrific. Her little sister's body was completely torn up while some guy cleaned knives in silence. Jihyo couldn't think she grabbed the nearest knife and... She could never forget what she saw. She still has nightmares from that day.
Yoo Jeongyeon
A strong, independent and funny girl. She was always known for being the popular, sporty tomboy. Many girls have crushed on her yet no one actually dared to confess. She's a good team player and loves challenges. It was a surprise to many when she joined the gardening club as she never showed any interest in gardening before. Turns out she just wanted to try something new and felt like doing something in nature that she hadn't tried before. Everyone envies her for her good relationship with her parents who seem to support every decision she makes. Jeongyeon loves them with all her heart and is very thankful to have them.
She has a strong hatred towards Jimin, no one knows why. Except for Jimin himself. Jimin used to be friends with Jeongyeon in their first year. But then she met someone very special, they made her heart flutter in ways no one has ever. But obe day both wabted to tell the other about their crush when something Jimin said ruined everything. "Look, there they are!" Pointing at HER Y/n! "No! That's my crush!" From that day their friendship was over. Now both do even to ruin the others chances with Y/n.
Kim Dahyun
She is a sweet but often overlooked girl. Her loce for flowers lead her to the gardening club, although it's more of a love for taking pictures of flowers. Dahyun was the first to fall for Y/n actually. She, just like Y/n, got into the school through a scholarship. But before that the two were neighbour's. Since Dahyun could think she was always peeking through the fence to see if the neighbour kid was there. She loved to watch them all day long but never actually went up to them.
It was as she's cursed. Even though she lived next to them, was in the same daycare, Kindergarten, elementary school and middle school tgey never noticed her. She even visited the same classes they did yet nothing. Every time they so much as glance into her direction she breaks out into shivers and excited giggles while covering her mouth wide eyed. In case you're wondering, yes, she is Taehyung's cousin.
Chou Tzuyu
As the daughter of two famous actresses she was always admired by everyone. Her beauty was beoned compare, her voice stunning to the ear, so nice and gentle it feels impossible. everything about her just seems too perfect, almost unreal. But the sad truth is, Tzuyu's parents always had to move from place to place, she never fekt home anywhere. People were intimidated by her status and appearance so they never approached her.
Secretly she's always been a hopeless romantic who believes innlove at first sight. The lack of affection made her desperate for a partner, it made her feel as if that's the only thing that will make her happy. And when she met that gorgeous, kind, strong individual, she just didn't want to look away ever!
Hirai Momo
The most cold member of the gardening club. As a famous gymnastic champion her focus layed on training and winning, not making friends. But Mina ended up in the same dance school as her, only that she majored ballet. Mina didn't know where to go so she asked for Momo's help. After that these two some how became friends. Momo has a secret soft spot for Mina and agreed to join the gardening club with her. There she found out her passion for gardening.
She is the most rough and honest in the group, never once lying about anything to the other girls. When spotting a rival she's commonly thecone to abduct them and bring them to a secluded place.
Myoui Mina
A classic, well mannered, feminine lady. Her mother was also a famous ballerina, known all over the globe for her incredible performances. Mina was raised with strict rules and goals. Her parents wanted their child to be the perfect ballerina, no mistakes, no hesitation. If she'd have the slightest slip up they would shout at her and shame her for it. They would make her train, even if her feet were aching and stinging, she needed to be perfect. So by now all her moves are perfected. Even though her feet scream for release she wil continue untill it's all over.
She met Momo at her new dance school after she transferred from Japan to Korea. They got along so well and soon became friends. When it was time to choose a club to join in school she decided, because there wasn't a ballet club, gardening wouldn't be too stressful. She met the love of her life while she was in the garden with the other girls. She found out that they wanted to give Nayeon something from Namjoon (a few copies) and then left. But thst split second they made eye contact had her heart beating so fast. She couldn't believe it.
Son Chaeyoung
While she is more on the shy side when it comes to meeting bew people, she is a very sweet girl. She is the gardening club's favourite member. With her eye for detail and colour, she always manages to make the best flower arrangements in town. Chae lives with her father and mother, both have a more average income. She knows that her father was with another woman and had a child before he married her mother. She's never meet her half brother but knows he took on his mothers last name, Min.
She is very stealthy which helps her wgen out to gather information. She loves to follow Y/n, a student from her mathematics and history class, around and gather Information about their day. Chae doesn't know what she's doing could be classified as strange or even creepy to some.
If you enjoyed reading my work, please reblog it. Thank you for reading!

the c̶o̶c̶a̶i̶n̶e̶ crayon dealer pt.?
“it’s not as scary as you think, it can be fun, really.”
“really?”
“well, minus the realization of a five-hundred-word essay due in two days; which you can solve with grabbing a nice cup of coffee before screaming to yourself in front of the mirror, that’s all.”
the idea of college doesn’t seem to convince jungkook entirely, not when he has cousin namjoon video-calling him every two weeks to show him that everything’s fine when, in reality, everything is all but. honestly, jungkook appreciates the effort; namjoon calling despite his busy schedule, namjoon telling him about joining the book club, namjoon sharing stories about how his life goes in college now with his roommate, who’s part-time music-student, part-time soundcloud celebrity. but of course, to soothe the whirling storm of his beating heart, he went for final advice from cousin seokjin, currently in his senior year, and namjoon’s ancient older brother.
which is, to quote their youngest brother taehyung, “ a big mistake”.
regardless, jungkook is thankful for his cousins. seokjin, for his brutal honesty about college life. namjoon, for his effort of showing him that college life can be better. and taehyung, as an example of what not to do in college, especially when you’re just a freshman.
“so, what’s your room number?”
“um, hold on, i’m in 218, building b.” jungkook says to namjoon on the other side, dropping his last stack of cardboard boxes.
“okay, i’ll visit you later. is it alright if yoongi comes along? he’s been saying he needs a specific smell right now, as a motivation to write his essay. i’m thinking of cardboard.”
“oh, yeah, sure.” this yoongi guy probably gets high easily. “see you later.”
the first day of college is in three days. orientation week starts off with students’ exhibitions, with sports teams and organizations lining up like lemonade stands at the local fair and numerous upperclassmen tailing your butt, waiting for you to fill up club applications.
“stay off the council!” taehyung warned him last summer. jungkook straightened his posture as the older motions him to lean closer. it must be important, since taehyung had put down his glass of orange juice, and taehyung loves orange juice. “most of them are super-strict and if you’re caught partying past midnight on a weekday..” he made a slicing gesture across his neck with a solemn expression, if not grave, before snapping it sideways.
“that’s because you nearly burned the lawn, taehyung.” sitting across them was namjoon, closing his eyes for the umpteenth time of his life thanks to his younger brother’s antics. “i still don’t understand--”
“alcohol is flammable. i’ve done my research on google. i’m completely innocent.”
namjoon looked like he would’ve popped a vein if it weren’t for seokjin's arrival. “just make sure your roommate isn’t too much of a pain.” he said, stirring the straw of his iced coffee. “in freshman year, i ended up with one acapella kid.”
“how did it go?” jungkook asked. seokjin shrugged, though his face seemed sullen. “oh, man, kept him up all night!” taehyung winked, making finger guns.
“let’s just say i would’ve slept at taehyung’s burning lawn if offered.”
“you’re such a drama queen, i’m surprised no theater kid has never publicly begged you to star in a role.”
“not to worry.” jungkook whispers to himself, content with the fact that he won’t wind up with someone unknown. a reservation for room 217 and 218 has been made under the name of jeon jungkook and park jimin, taehyung’s high-school classmate and lifelong best friend, and jungkook’s acquaintance from summer camp.
it’s going to be a great year, he reassures himself. he and jimin are going to apply for the track team together. taehyung has connections for parties he doesn’t know existed. he has his band of crackhead cousins at college. everything is going to be just fine.
“yes, hoseok. i’m at 217 if you ever need me.”
you can say someone’s looking super excited to see someone, other than you, that is.
as soon as he exits his own room to take a quick peek at what would be jimin’s room, jungkook’s eyebrows did a perfect illustration of how the trigonometric graph of y = cos x would look like. did jimin undergo a complete makeover after his exchange trip to germany?
“uh, hoseok, i’ll call you back.” you say to your phone before glancing back at the boy with the mustard-colored hoodie in front of you. “sorry to ruin your day, you’re of room 218?”
the person in question blinks a few times instead of answering. this is probably why you should’ve taken your eye medication regularly, jungkook. “j--jimin?” he meekly asks, half praying that this is just a prank his cousins decided to play upon him.
“who the hell is jimin?” you retort. “and what are you doing here, jeon jungkook?”
alright. if this is supposed to be a mean prank, it’s a hideous, diabolical one that involves an enemy from elementary school.
standing in front of jungkook is you. you from elementary, specifically from 3rd all the way to 7th grade. your hair might be different, and you might be taller, and unfortunately, more fashionable than the last time he’d seen you. but jungkook vowed he would never forget the eyes of a school thief.
“i’m supposed to be asking that.” jungkook replies, after regaining his composure. of all people, why you? the sight of even your backpack tingles his memory of his favored item that has been regrettably snatched from his hands. “you here to steal another thing of mine?”
your eyes dilated at the mention of that. “i didn’t steal it.” you hiss. “stop feeding lies into your childhood fantasy. i was never that jealous of your goddamn possession, yet you’re still spiteful after all this time. besides, i thought i don’t have to share an indoor bathroom with anyone..?”
“yeah, you don’t.” jungkook points accusingly. “because i’ll be sharing it with jimin.”
“look, i just finished moving in, and i bet you just did, too. i’m not in the mood to argue right now, so let’s settle this quick.”
“i agree. i’m going to be civil and help you move your stuff to the next floor. let’s go.” jungkook rolls the sleeves of his hoodie, but that doesn’t last too long. “whoa, who says i’m moving anywhere?” you stop him dead in his tracks. “if anything, you’ve got the wrong room.”
jungkook rolls his eyes. “no way. my neighbor is jimin, i’m sharing a bathroom with him. you have no neighbor, or whatsoever. you don't belong here.”
“why don’t we ask that person? pretty sure she’s the RA?” you point to a figure with a blue t-shirt and headphones at the end of the hallway, shuffling throughout her clipboard frantically. jungkook squints for a moment, before almost breaking into a sprint.
“dude!” you run to catch up with him. “are you that desperate not to share a room with me?”
“no, i’m just imagining how i would end up in a track team with my roommate, jimin,” he grunts, emphasis on what jimin’s status is to the both of you.
“hi, something i can help you with?” the RA asks, a faint smile across her lips, though both of you know better judging by the creases of her shirt and unruliness of her hair. “hi, yeah, i’m jeon jungkook of room 218. i’m supposed to be sharing an indoor bathroom with park jimin?”
“of course. and you?” the RA gestures to you to continue. “______, i’m assigned to room 217. i’m informed that i will have no roommate for this semester?”
the RA flips through a few papers before smiling delightfully. okay, maybe this nightmare will end quicker than expected, jungkook thinks. “i’m sorry,” what even--”park jimin have already moved to our campus yesterday, but unfortunately this area has particularly stimulated his allergy. his parents requested for residential relocation.” the RA throws you a sympathetic smile. “he’s been transferred to building d, which stands for don’t worry!” she ends with a laugh.
it would’ve been funny if jungkook isn’t so caught up with the fact that he’s lost a potential golden roommate.
“and me?” you ask, though somehow, you’ve already known the answer.
“i apologize for the fact that we often cause miscommunications in residential relocations. every new academic year is always hectic, after all.” she goes through her papers for the second time, a burst of shrill laughter trailed before ending in a disappointed sigh. “i’m sorry to say that we have no more empty rooms in this building.”
what is that? right, the sound of your heart plunging to the depths of your niches. you’re sure it would be ending in an echo audible enough for even jungkook to hear.
“unless you have a problem with your current room?” she offers you.
allergy, you force a smile. fictional bugs, jungkook would like to add. nonexistent odor, you come up with an idea. the wrong roommate, jungkook concludes.
“that’s all. thanks.” jungkook says halfheartedly, the freshman spirit long gone at the disappearance of the thought of track-teammates him and jimin being roommates, and the fact that now he probably has to share a hairdryer with you.
“hey, hoseok, we have a situation.” you say dejectedly to your phone. “i’ve been assigned a roommate who's accused me of stealing his goddamned. red. crayon.”

T A S K #2
- character development survey / questionnaire
describe your character in a few words.
eclectic, gregarious, fickle, imaginative, impulsive, loyal, bratty, attention seeking, loving
what do you know about your character that they don’t know yet?
They should be appreciating what they have now more. It isn’t going to last forever.
what are your character’s major flaws?
Sidney seeks attention, even negative attention. They often act out, occasionally just as the typical class clown, but they can take things too far. Especially on someone else’s behalf, and were something of a bully in highschool. Sidney is also deeply irresponsible, and always wants to take the easy way out.
what is your character’s greatest asset?
While their personality isn’t always to everyone’s taste, they have an affable and playful energy and it draws them a certain amount of fond affection and leeway, even from relative strangers. They’re also think quickly on their feet, and are a good judge of character, meaning they can often talk themselves out of situations that might have otherwise been much worse.
What would completely break your character?
If Sidney were to completely lose their support system, they would be likely spiral into a dark hole of drugs & alcohol and destructive relationships. Sidney doesn’t handle rejection well, and feeling betrayed or abandoned by the people they trusted, would be what broke them. Having never actually lost anyone close to them before, the death of someone close to Sidney would also have the same effect.
describe your character’s family.
Sidney is the youngest of four, his older sister bracketed between their two brothers. By the time Sidney came along, both of their parents careers had just begun to pick up and they could afford to hire nannies to shuffle their children between extracurricular. Their father, Landon Daines, came from money. He met his wife, Isabelle, when she was 16, and he was 23, seven years older. By the time she was that age, they were expecting their eldest.
Though some sense of obligation (or reluctance to use birth control), kept giving them more children, neither of the Daines had particularly strong parental drives. As long as they were behaved, the kids were allowed to their own devices. Sidney acted out instead, disruptive and destructive in class and at home. It had some short term effect, the anger and frustration were at least attention. However, soon it only landed them enrolled into private school, to be at home as little as possible.
Sidney’s middle brother was only three years older, but he was always closer to their eldest brother than Sidney and their sister shared too much in common with their mother for them to ever really be close. Out of anyone in the house, Sidney’s relationship with their mother was always the most volatile. Around the time they were enrolled into private school, Sidney changed their name and started wanting to avoid their parents attention instead of attract it. Of course, this was when their mother hyperfocused in on Sidney’s behavior, and wardrobe, and the people they were hanging around with.
Their parents were unable to see Sidney’s exploration of their gender and sexuality as anything but another form of rebellion. To them, it was an attempt to stir up ire and cause embarrassment, and Sidney’s refusal to hide it was just an extension of that. Frequent screaming matches made their household a chilling and uncomfortable place for Sidney, and drove a wedge further between them and the rest of their siblings, who hated the horrible atmosphere that suddenly followed them.
Sidney’s only places of refuge were school and the Kim household. Their families might have been friends, but the Kims never seemed to question why Sidney showed up at their place to change outfits. Sidney appreciated it more than he can express, but always makes sure to send Olivia Kim flowers for mothers day. For most of their life, Ollie has been the only family that’s really mattered to Sidney and so by extension, any of Ollie’s family is also his own.
Kat was the first person that has been expanded to in a long time, and then Jonah by default. Sidney’s never been particularly fond of children in large doses, but he loves his friends enough to adore their kid. Jamie rounded out their little family, and being surrounded by people he loves, has made the last few years the best of Sidney’s life.
name your character’s favorite person and why.
Oliver Kim has been Sidney’s favorite person for a long time. They’ve been a step behind him and at his right hand for most of their lives, and wouldn’t trade that place for anything. However, in the last few years, both their horizons have broadened to included others into their world, and often Sidney isn’t even sure if they’re jealous or happy about it.
what seemingly insignificant memories stuck with your character?
An early memory, one of their first. A day at the playground, and they become the type of instant friends only children can be. She introduces herself as Sidney, leads him up to conquer the jungle-gym, long dark hair streaming behind her. They part ways to go home that night. Sidney’s nanny quits a few days later, and they never go back to that park.
Elementary school wasn’t kind to Sidney. They hadn’t figured out yet how to weaponize the jagged edges of their personality. The bullying is relentless, until they stomp on one’s hand and break one of their fingers. After that, it tapers off. Sidney makes friends. They’re suspended for a week, but their parents take turns working from home to be with Sidney, and it’s still the most individual time he’s spent with either in his life.
They are sixteen, the first time someone wolf whistles from a passing car. Their hair is long, and they’ve borrowed a classmates skirt. Shopping that afternoon, Sidney buys another skirt, and a backless dress.
what is your character reluctant to tell people?
As much as Sidney likes to been seen, they prefer to only allow a specific, carefully constructed version of themselves to shine through to the outside world. Treating life as a performance is easier than facing it with their entire truth. There are very few people that Sidney is entirely honest with. Even those closest to him, he may only let down some of his walls, and not all of the time. Around strangers, Sidney prefers to talk a lot and say little.
what makes this character angry? what calms them?
Though Sidney is occasionally prone to tempers and foul moods that are largely disconnected from real cause, they’re otherwise fairly friendly and personable. They desperately want people to like them, though they’ll still give a big fuck you to anyone that doesn’t. The real hot button for Sidney, is disrespecting their friends or being any kind of bigot. Calming Sidney can be as fickle as they are. Sometimes there’s nothing to it but letting him work through to the meltdown’s conclusion, and tire out their anger. Others, a gentle hand or a sharp word are all it takes to snap them quickly out of their pique.
how does your character really feel about sex?
Sidney’s relationship with sex has been long and complicated. They started young, with an early boyfriend a few grades older, and then when they started to party in highshool, drinking too much and taking drugs, they often found themselves waking up in unfamiliar beds. Sidney has used sex as an instrument of self harm in the past and currently, and it is often less about seeking physical pleasure for Sidney than it is a deep longing for connection. While they certainly enjoy the act, they often go into it uncaring of their own enjoyment or safety. Sex is also a heightened point of dysphoria for them, especially with women, though Sidney is attracted to all genders. They are also a submissive, and like to be taken out of their/heady body during sex, especially by an experienced Dom, though they’re almost as happy having fairly vanilla sex with someone, as long as the person is still attentive with them.
how does your character really feel about love? do they want it?
Sidney has always been overflowing with more affection than they know how to share. They love love. They love romance, and to be in it, and the sappier the better. However, Sidney’s honeymoon adoration isn’t sustainable, and they’re often quick to bore themselves of relationships once that spark has begun to fade. Those people that do work themselves deep into his heart, Sidney is incapable of ever letting go.
what is your character’s most noticeable trait and most noticeable physical feature?
They choose for the day. Some it’s bright red lipstick and others an understated silver pin, keeping their hair up in place. Their fashion is also often enough of a statement to draw the eye, and make it linger, from long outlandish coats to croc skin belts.
plot specific questions ;
how does your character feel about their major and school in general?
Poorly. They like school because gotten them away from home, but Sidney is bored with their major but can’t make any decisions about what they want to switch to. They don’t take school nearly as seriously they should, though so far they’ve managed to keep their grades from flagging to far by buying tests and other ‘work arounds’
what is your character’s plan for after graduation? does that scare them?
They’re terrified of it. Sidney has no plans at all for what they’ll do after graduation, and frankly are pretending that isn’t a possibility. Frankly, they’re considering switching their major and starting over, stretching the years out.
what was your character’s relationship to manon and how exactly did they feel about her?
Sidney met manon at a party not too long before her death, and they hit it off. Sidney enjoyed her larger than life personality, and they’d started to hang out even outside of parties. However, they weren’t particularly close, the relationship was shallow and mostly based on partying and gossip, and Sidney was shaken by her death but not that broken up overall.
what is your character’s opinion on the pact as a whole? do they think they should just tell, are the willing to do what to take to keep other in to keep others in line, etc.
Sidney thinks the pact might have been stupid at first, but now it’s far too late to back down. They’re terrified of facing consequences for their actions, and barely remember the night well enough to say what those actions were. They’re trying to distance themselves from it as much as possible, but also keep an ear out for what’s happening and if anyone is going to spill.
are there any secrets your character is scared the west bridge liars blog might leak?
It would probably be bad for Sidney if anyone knew they were cheating on their school work and rarely going to class.
how is your character handling the stress of keeping the secret?
They’ve been trying to pretend it’s not happening, and going about life as usual. However, it’s led to an increase in their nerves, and they’re drinking/smoking more to cope, and going to class less. They have started to get jumpy, as though convinced things are going to come crashing down any moment.

My 4 AM sleepless night rant
The topic: People
Just people in general.
I don't hate people, but I really don't like them. Coming from someone with aspergers, a more common sight these day, people are a nightmare. I'm terrible with people, I'm terrible with talking, I'm terrible with talking to people, and worst of all is arguing with people, which is a living hell. I've unfortunately been cursed to primarily have jobs that deal with customer interaction. Even when I specifically apply for jobs that involve data entry and dealing with paperwork, I still end up having to be the csr (customer service representative).
I'm so worn out having to deal with idiots, people with anger issues, victim mentalities, elitism, those who think they are entitled to anything and everything, hypocrites, liars, scammers, the list goes on, and yes, I have had to deal with all of these kinds of people in the past; some in my job, and some in my personal life.
People have brought me nothing but pain. As a kid, all of the people I called friend eventually moved away after 1-4 years with them due to living in a military area. Now that's not their fault, they can't help it that they have to get relocated several times, but for me, being the kid whose friends all moved away and never saw again, it's heartbreaking. I never had any real long lasting friends going through school, and was always jealous of those who did, wondering what it's actually like to have someone you could just call up and hang out for the day or weekend. I really wish I had that experience.
School wasn't any better either. Because of zone relocations, I had my elementary school years split into two different schools. I liked my first school, but I hated the second. My only memory of that school was being bullied by the other kids because I played by myself with toys and props instead of with other kids. More specifically, I remember during recess, I would take a jump rope, tie it around this giant rubber fish (I don't know why we had it, but we did) and I would drag it around the lot, sit down and talk to it and feed and pet it as if it was my own pet. Then some kids came up and laughed at me, pointing and exclaiming how I was so weird for doing that. I never did it again.
Middle school was weird but also very depressing. After my failures with public elementary school, my parents decided to try out private schools, which were separated into primary and secondary campuses or school days. I never really attended proper middle or high schools from this point onwards, just primary and secondary school separated at 7th and 8th grade. 6th and 7th I went to this one private school, but I was still bullied by kids most every day. My mother told me that it was almost an everyday occurrence for her to have to pick me up from school early and take me home because I was stuck in the principal's office crying over the things that happened to me today. I really did not enjoy going there.
From 8th grade onwards though, I attended a different private school where for the first time in my life, I was accepted. The kids didn't bully or harass me, and I actually became the most popular kid in school during 8th grade (I even had a day named after me, no joke). Once 9th grade came around, I had lost my popularity and became more of that sweet kid that nobody disliked, which was fine by me. I never really enjoyed being popular.
While high school was great and all, it was also when people were starting to get interested in each other, and boy has then been quite a ride. To keep things short, over my 5 years I spent at that school, I had gotten rejected 10 times, primarily friendzoned, but sometimes they just left. Like literally, they said nothing to me after a certain point and literally left the area and I never heard from them again.
My first experience with a "girlfriend" was actually rather depressing. I got approached out of the blue by a girl who asked if she could be my girlfriend. I was taken aback at first, but I said sure. She was cute, why not? I'll spend the time to get to know her, find out what she likes, be sweet to her. Her friends even told me to say or certain things to make her happy, which I did, but I didn't get the response I was expecting. She hated it when I did anything with her, sat next to her, called her by the nickname her friends advised me to use. I thought it was odd. I found out through a third party that she never liked me in the first place. She was dared to ask me out, and she did. I was rather heartbroken; I felt played with and treated like a toy.
From there, I tried to pursue other girls only to get rejection after rejection after rejection from every single girl. Naturally, I gave up. I must not be attractive. I'm probably a huge loser. I don't have any friends, why should I even think I could get a girlfriend? I didn't bother even trying to get close with anyone until a few years later at college, but it was essentially the same thing with being ignored, avoided, and rejected.
So far, people suck. We can also throw in my poor relationships with my father, brothers, and grandfather too. I hated men, I didn't want anything to do with women, and I didn't trust anyone. As bad as that was, it was nothing compared to the workplace.
Nothing really tells you how much you suck like losing your job, or rather, all your jobs. All the jobs I had I either quit because of customers harassing me, got let go because it was a temp job, had to leave because of school relocation, and terminated because I couldn't perform as well as they wanted me to and made too many mistakes. The school relocation was me moving away to college to get that "real college experience". Halfway through the year, I return home after the semester to a wonderful surprise: my parents are getting a divorce! Wew!
After that heartbreak, I go back to college for the second semester, stupidly fall for girls again, and once again get depressed over another crushing failure. My grades start dropping, and I eventually stopped attending classes and wouldn't get out of bed or even eat food for most of the day. I flunked every single class. I'm not even allowed to return to that college either until I prove I can get good grades again. I also got 12k in debt from tuition. Including my on and off community college class failures while working, I spent roughly 3 years in college, learned nothing of value, and got 12k in debt, right in time for me to not have any job after returning home. Wonderful.
I get to return home to my dad now living in a different house, and my mother crying a lot about it. Out of my siblings, one of them has already moved out and doesn't talk. One of them is a narcissistic prick, one of them is just difficult, and one is problematic, but a sweetheart. I don't get along very well with any of them except the youngest, who is really my only sibling who tells me they love me. Being the oldest and the most level headed kid in the house, I get to be the one to hear everyone's pains and problems, but to be honest, it feels like it's because I'm the only one who will actually listen. My siblings basically only live for themselves.
The most heartbreaking thing I had to witness was the last time I went to my father's house with my mother. It was around Christmas, and our biannual vacation got cancelled because if all the drama, so we were at home still. We went to my father's house, and that's when he gave my mother the divorce papers.
It was gut wrenching. Its night, and all my siblings (bar the one who moved away) are in the car, ready to go home. I'm in the passenger seat, and we're all waiting for our mother to come outside and drive home. It's been about 10 minutes, and I knew that shit was going down inside. I knew that mother wasn't going to come out there smiling and happy, so I slid into the driver's seat, knowing I was going to have to drive this time. I wanted to be wrong, I wanted it to all be a lie, but my mother comes out, gets in the passenger's seat, and says absolutely nothing. My siblings, who are typically very chatty, and I could just feel the depression when she got in, and we all knew what happened inside dad's house. I spent the next 10-15 minutes driving home, everyone dead silent, my mother trying her best not to cry. I turned on the radio because it was too much to bear.
And now I'm here, stuck losing all my jobs, never having money to go or do anything outside of paying my stupid debts and bills, no friends, a broken family, no real relationship with most of my siblings, and no defined goal or future. My parents don't like the things I like or make me happy, every time my mother enters the same room as me, I'm scared she is going to get mad at me, I wake up every morning with dread, expecting some kind of note telling me something I did wrong or didn't do correctly, and the only time my family ever wants to talk to me is when they want me to drive somewhere to pick up or drop off or take someone somewhere.
I spend almost every waking moment either in a game or on YouTube because I don't want anything to do with real life. Truth be told, I actually get nervous twitches, panic attacks, and have even completely broken down screaming and crying while curled up on the floor from just thinking about living here in this world, all the shit that I have to deal with, and all the debts, failures, and expectations that have been set on me.
I cut off all my emotions and my ability to speak when I get overwhelmed like this, and the only way I've ever really been able to open my heart and mind is when I can put pen to paper, whether it be physically or digitally. This is my cry for help. I don't expect anyone to listen. I don't expect anyone to help. But I don't want to go unheard and forgotten...

“My childhood spat back out the monster that you see.”
NAME: Oliver Samuel Lahey AGE: 18 GRADE: Senior BIRTHDAY: January 15 FACECLAIM: Ross Butler
b a c k g r o u n d .
Oliver was a good child growing up, having a mother and father who both worked hard and kept their little family together. Being an only child was definitely lonely but it had its perks; it meant that the youngest Lahey got the chance to spend time with himself and somewhat show his parents, as well as his tutors, that he was gifted child. His knowledge excelled the vast majority of all the other children his age, raising the attention of several learning institutions, wanting him to be a part of their schools. His parents politely declined, wanting him to grow up academically with the other children his age, even if that meant burying his true potential.
When he was 7, something completely unexpected happened. While walking home from school, having done so since he had started Elementary School, a woman and a man stepped into his path and blocked him from continuing on with his journey home. Smart enough to know, Oliver gave them a tiny smile and turned around, now trying to head back to school, seeing as he was only a bit away from there. Before he could actually get away, he was scooped up and thrown into a car. Screaming his lungs out, no one came to his rescue, leading the young Oliver to drill into his mind that he, himself, was his only saviour.
Days passed and he, along with other children, were just kept together in a dark attic-like place. Having only being fed juice boxes and cold pizza lead to a lot of malnourishment, one of his unlucky captives dying before him and the others. All forms of hope had died, Oliver becoming somewhat bitter that no one had come to save him; even his parents. Whatever forms of love he had for them before being locked up in such terrible place had turned to negativity, the young boy wanting nothing than to just go home and be alone.
Angry, he dared to question his captors even as the other children begged for him to close his mouth, asking why it had to be them. He earned a slap to the mouth, lip bleeding lightly. ‘Shut up, you little person!’ The comeback had Oliver laughing, only because it was completely dull. “Little person? Is that all you’ve got to say, Mr? Shows how much of a small and underdeveloped mind you have, am I correct?” Completely caught off guard, Oliver shoved the older male as hard as he could towards the doorway he had just come through, the force not enough to do anything but the other children, as if on cue, joined in and they all managed to push him through the door and down the hatch which led to a barn.
Once they were all down, he convinced himself to sneak into the house of the captors and call the police. Getting inside was easy; it was getting out that was the difficult part. Two people, who seemed to be probably a husband and wife, had picked up the phone while Oliver was in the middle of the call, just managing to keep the cop on the phone longer than a minute in order to give them a chance to trace the call. He didn’t know the address and having read a book or two on how tracers worked in relation to satellites had finally proven itself useful. He ran through the house, practically running to save his life, literally dodging bullets and unfortunately ran right into his captors’ grasps. Oliver was lucky enough to have outrun the bullets seeing as now, their guns were useless.
Their knives, however, still remained sharp. Just about to carve their initials into his stomach – a bloody 7-year-old—a child! – sirens sounded and the couple got mad. They managed to slice through the skin on his chest, Oliver screaming in pain. In attempt to shut his mouth, the older woman dropped the knife and the older man tried to smother him with his dirty, bloody hand. Just as he started to see stars, a police officer barged through the door and pretty much saved his life.
They soon learnt that Oliver, along with all the other children, were soon-to-be victims of child trafficking.
Going back home to his parents, he felt as if he didn’t belong. Still bitter and refusing to be shown affection from the two people he trusted so much, Oliver specifically requested that he go to a boarding school.
Hello Fairfield Prep.
p e r s o n a l i t y .
Oliver is easy to get along with and is sometimes a total headache. He likes to break rules, getting the thrill out of seeing teachers annoyed, as well as the Headmistress whenever she plans little meetings with him. Oliver is a smarty pants and likes to let everyone know that he did his homework, or that he aced the tests, or anything, smiling brightly at those who didn’t do too well, or hoped that the teacher wouldn’t bring up the homework. He is pretty friendly and if he knows the person well, will happily try to leave them with a smile upon their own face. He can be a clown as well as being one’s reason to frown.
