I wish ErynCerise didn't end Mahou Profile a history of magical girls. it was so good and informative and fun and she stopped mid way through Cutie Honey.
It had to take up a lot of time and energy to watch all those classic shows that weren't even subbed and do all the background research. I hope she returns to it some day
I'm gonna rewatch.

Hello! I’m the anon that’s been sending those questions recently about what manga you plan on covering, (I didn’t send the Majokko Ruruku one tho, I tried googling it and I can’t seem to find it anywhere). I thought I’d take your advice and make a list, the reason I didn’t think of it sooner was because the ideas just kept coming to me, silly me. Anyways, here you go!
1. Scissor Sisters by Daigo, Eiki Eiki, and Marico
2. Love Witch by Naoko Takeuchi
3. PQ Angels by Naoko Takeuchi
4. Brat Hunt Chu by Daisy Yamada
5. Fairy Idol Kanon by Mera Hakamada
6. The Big Adventures of Majoko by Machiko Fuji and Tomomi Mizuna
7. Pixie Pop by Ema Toyama
8. Yume Yume☆You You by Pink Hanamori
9. Mistress☆Fortune by Arina Tanemura
10. Koi Cupid by Mia Ikumi
11. Saint Dragon Girl and it’s sequel Miracle by Natsumi Matsumoto
12. Zodiac P.I by Natsumi Ando
13. The magic of chocolate Mizuho Rino
(One thing I’ve noticed it that someone who’s made a magical girl manga usually has atleast one other, Naoko Takeuchi, CLAMP, Arina Tanemura, Pink Hanamori, Go Navai, Natsumi Matsumoto, Go Nagai, probably more..)
Hello again! Apologies for the delayed response.
Almost all of these are on my list, but unfortunately I don't know which Ciao magical girl horror manga you're referring to (probably because I'm nowhere near caught up on Sparkleside Chats), but that sounds right up my alley so if you remember the name of it I would love to hear more!
Other than that the only one I hadn't heard of Majigawa! (so thanks for the rec!), and the only one that doesn't meet my criteria for inclusion in this project is The Magic of Chocolate because it got a short direct-to-video anime in 2011. Still a super neat series from what little I've seen of it.
Thank you as always for your suggestions, and let me know if there are any that I have missed (I know tumblr has a tendency to eat asks). Here's wishing all of us the best!

Podcast!
I was recently on a podcast episode as part of the team working on the Andromeda Star webcomic. You should definitely check it out if you’re a fan of the magical girl/boy genre. Still oofed by the fact my voice doesn’t feel deep enough yet, but I had a lot of fun regardless.
Hit it up over at Sparkleside Chats!

My friend Ayumi Shinozaki recently had me on her podcast to talk about my favorite thing ever; Cutie Honey! This is actually my second time on her show, the first time I discussed Honey as a whole franchise. This episode I talk solely about the original anime TV series. Please check it out!

Episode 37 - Star Darlings with Angie V
In this episode, magical girl Ayu talks with magical illustrator Angie V about the web series/book series/doll line, Star Darlings (2015-2017).
I was featured as this weeks guest of Sparkleside Chats to talk about one of my favorite western magical girl series, Star Darlings!
And even if you don’t want to listen to me, Sparkleside Chats has a lot of great different series episodes to choose from to!
#shamless plug#podcasts#magical girls#star darlings#i'm at work and can't listen to it until later but#this is also my first time doing anything like this so i'm sure I must sound awful but i love this series to much to stay silent about it
