Imagine: Edward Kenway being impressed with your pirating skills

A large, armored frigate with crimson sails reaching for the sky and proudly waving a black flag with a white skull grinning evily at the world docked into Nassau’s bay. Just the sight of the Gorgon figurehead at the front was enough for the people of Nassau to know that that ship was “Longclaw”, which belonged to Y/N “Spanishbane” S/N L/N - scourge of the Spaniards. A merciless pirate.

She stood proudly at the nose of the ship, her H/L, H/C hair waving as the warm breeze blew through it, her back straight and her head up high with a playful yet haughty look in her eyes. Her swords and pistols were on either side of her, shining, spotless in the sun. Edward found himself staring and was suddenly startled when Benjamin Hornigold nudged him. “If you stare awhile longer, your eyes are gonna bore into her.” he teased. Edward rolled his eyes and downed his mug of rum. “Well, I haven’t seen her in ages,what do you want me to do?” he retorted sarcastically.

Y/N jumped on the dock and made her way towards the nearby tavern where all her alies were gathered. She grabbed a bottle of rum from a nearby man without even looking at him and took a rather large gulp from it. The man watched her with malice and unsheathed his sword. He was just about to swing it, when she smashed the bottle in his head and sent him falling back, unconcious. Ever so calmly, she sat next to Hornigold on the table and ordered another bottle of rum "Captain Kenway." She greeted "Congratulations for taking fort Navassa, as I hear." Edward just smirked proudly and nodded. “So, the ever so uncatchable Spanishbane decided to finally take a break from sending Spanish ships down to the bottom of the sea?” he asked her with amusement. She didn’t answer him immediately, as she was quite captivated by Edward’s gaze and found herself staring back at him. “No, actually.” she finally explained ‘Lately I have greater goals than just sinking ships.’

“And what would those goals be, m’lady?“ Edward smirked at her. She kept her gaze on him awhile longer before answering. “I’m building a fleet.“ she explained “Every Spanish ship that can still float is repaired and sent to that fleet. I intend to gather enough ships and invade Spain in the end.“. Everyone around her whistled or gasped in astonishment. “Those are some big dreams, lass.“ Edward said “But it’s not that easy invading an entire empire. If they are looking for you now, when you arrive there, you’d be knocking on their door to give yourself up,“

“I won’t be waving a black flag then, Kenway.“ she explained, her eyes glittering as she spoke her ambitions into words “I don’t pick only Spanish ships for nothing! I will disguise the ships to look like the king’s ships and I will strike when they least expect it!“ Edward listened to her with astonishment. He had never seen a female pirate captain so fiery and reckless, yet so ambitious ‘You’re insane.‘ he scoffed “And what will you do even if you overtake Spain?“ he asked. “I don’t care what would happen next. The English will probably take the land.“ Y/N shrugged and took another large gulp from the bottle of rum in front of her. “I wish it were that easy. If it were, I would be king of the world!“ Thatch exclaimed with a loud roar of a laugh.

“Just be careful, lass.“ Edward warned “Plunder all the ships you want, kill all the spanishmen you see fit, but I suggest forgetting about this dream of yours before it’s too late. I hear you’re a fiery warrior, a feared pirate and it would be a shame if someone like you hangs on the galoping. A pretty face like that deserves better“ he winked with a cocky smirk

I follow my heart when I date Recently someone asked me what was my type was in dating. I said I no longer had a type and they were taken back and said everyone has a type. He may have been right, at one time I did have a type. I liked tall, dark, good looking Italian men, maybe it was a daddy thing, minus the tall part. But we all change and grow, we all liked things years ago that we may not like anymore. Look when I was a teenager if you were cute and had money to treat me for pizza you were it. Then it was if you we're cute and had a car, in college it was if you were hot and popular and could get us into the club's or good parties. After college I was looking for someone to settle down with, who would be a good supporter, a good father and husband. See the cute and hot part changed for responsible and hard working. But now I'm good, I pay my own bills, I can take care of myself so my wants changed again. Now it's not about looks, (Okay, we all have thing's we like, for me it's eyes and lips) but that's not the end all, be all in my decisions. It's not about how much money you make, it's not about what clubs we are going to, thank God I'm way over that, it's about who you are in your soul. To me it doesn't matter what color you are, how tall you are, (as long as you are taller than me in heels, we are good) It doesn't matter how much money you make, I make my own, it's about if your kind, if your funny, compassionate, if your a man of God, if your a family man. It's about the important things that make you a decent human being. Yes, I've dated black men, White men, Spainsh men, Jewish men, Catholic men, shorter men, tall men, young men and older men, see none of that matters to me anymore. All that matters if you are a good man. Wow, imagine if the whole world operated like this, we could get rid of racism. If we just judged a person on his or her heart, not on anything else. That is how I live my life, I  don't see color, I dont see age. I've had a relationship with a man that was 20 years younger and we could talk about anything for hours on end. Age didn't matter when your soul connects, when you have an undeniable attraction and you click. These are things others have a problem with, others have issues with. Back in the day when my mom was growing up not only didn't you date out of your race and your religion but also you never dated out of your own rationality. My mother's aunt married an Irish man and the family disowned her. My mom for 18 years never told me she was half Puerto Rican because when her first true love's family found that out, they made him break off their engagement. She was so brokenhearted she changed her name and lied to me for 18 years about who she truly was. How sad is that? Growing up I didn't date black men, maybe that's why I stuck with Italian Guido men because of my mom's beliefs but when she passed away and I got divorced, I realized those were her issues and not mine. The first guy I dated when I got divorced was an amazing younger black attorney, who is still a great friend to this day. Thank God we have come along way since those days but there are still some people out there who need to say something about differences in age or race or religion between couples. Look the heart wants what the heart wants, the heart doesn't see all of that nonsense, only small minded people do. So today my friends remember this is your life, do you, follow your heart. Date who your heart wants, who your soul connects with, what differnce does it make, we all bleed red in the end. Do like I do in life and in dating and follow your heart, it will never steer you wrong.
