FUN FACTS ABOUT THE MUN:

Name is Claudia Lucia, and everyone in my family has two names, even three! I don’t want to be a latinx stereotype, but it seems that one thing is true.

Most people call me Clau or Calu though. Also ‘Gordu’ which means ‘chubby’ but like, in a lovable way in spanish. My best friend is ‘flaqui’ which basically means skinny but, again, lovable, hard to explain.

I’m from Uruguay, right in the middle of Argentina and Brasil. 

Yes, it is true when people confuse an Uruguayian for an Argentinian we get mad for some reason.

Uruguay has the longest Carnaval ever. A month.

Studying to become a Film and Media Expert. Hopefully I finish this semester and then I can go work outside my country.

I know Spanish, obviously, English is my second language, been studying since I was 3 and I know some words in Italian because my grandma (my nona) was, of course, Italian.

Would like to have a podcast or a youtube channel someday, but i don’t have the money or the time atm.

Just because I look white doesn’t mean I am. In fact, most people are surprised when they get to Uruguay because everyone here looks rather, white. And that’s simply because most people here are from European descent. Spanish and Portuguese killed most natives during the invasions. There is like, 0.02 percent of natives. 

The reason above is also why Europe and USA sometimes come to film commercials here, because it’s cheaper and the extras look like people from their countries.

Watching a documentary about the tragedy of the andes is what made me want to be a film director.

Where you’re from?: I was Born in New Jeasey in North America, So im a American. But i currently live in Chile Santiago in South America. So i can speak both English and Spanish.
