Photos of a 20 year old Lionel Messi with 6 month old Lamine Yamal and Yamal’s mother, Sheila Ebana taken in September 2007 in Barcelona, Spain during a photo session in the dressing room of the Camp Nou stadium. In 2007, Messi had began his Barcelona career in 2004 at age 17 and now Yamal, starting at 15 (now 17) has become a football sensation for Spain and Barcelona.

Euro 2020 Pics Part 3!
MD4 - Semi-Final 1: Italy v Spain
So this match was so fun because a bunch of us got tickets and we got to see that match!!! Sadly it wasn't everyone and just a chunk of the Mobility Makers which was a shame, but it ended up being my first ever in-person football match which I was and still am so stupidly grateful for.
But before that I was back on Wembley way and back with another megaphone (it was so intimidating at first but after my shift at the previous match I just had a ball). The vibes for this match were def the best, not that many people were drunk to the point of being rowdy and everyone was just really excited. When I wasn't on megaphone duty I was once again taking pictures of people in front of the Wembley arch and giving people directions.
But the match... it was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. None of us found out until the week before that UEFA had given spare tickets to the volunteers so were were all so excited and the atmosphere was just beyond unreal.
And Wembley is just such a gorgeous stadium, the darker is got the arch was lit up in the tournament colours like all the other matches but there was ever more lights inside and it was just so so pretty. Our seats were at the Spanish end so when Italy scored the first goal we all saw the other side of the stadium just bounce, it was incredible.
(As we had to cover up our uniforms, I wore my Germany MNT top so technically, Germany did make the Semis if you squint).
And as it was the business end of the tournament I wore a very sparkly purple nail polish for both semi-finals bc football tournaments should have more glitter, actually.

MD5 - Semi-Final 2: England v Denmark
I'd say the calm before the final but... ehhhhh. The vibes in the air for this match we're definitely slightly off. Obviously not every England fan was the total worst, but there was enough of them to make things feel just a bit tense.
There wasn't much to say for SF2 as by now everything was more of the same, but I did get to see some pretty parts of Wembley Park! And by this point there was a screen in the volunteer centre so we could watch the match while we had dinner, though again I ended up have to leave before egress because nobody knew how to win in normal match time.
I kept the sparkly purple nail polish as I was wiped from the day before and didn't have the time to change it since I'd slept in and wanted to get to the stadium extra early.

I know they’ve played there before on occasion and that’s great. And it is certainly not impossible for them to play a game per year there, regardless of men’s games, grass, concerts. If the women’s team is always the last priority and a game per year is impossible, than it’s not the grass that’s the problem, it’s the will to make it happen and belief in their women’s team from the federation.
Swedish journalists (some) are crazy. They’re looking with a search light for reasons to criticize and undermine the women’s team. Soon they’ll be saying that the women missing the Olympics is as big a failure as the men failing to reach the Euros. Which is totally not true. It’s almost impossible to make the Olympics. The Euros is the easiest international tournament to make, it has the most slots.
Another journalist was saying that we should have ”the same expectations” on the women as on the men, since women want equal treatment. Ok. Then he said maybe the women should have as much resources as they do, because they drew Italy 1-1. I can promise you he would never think the mnt had done a bad job if they drew Italy 1-1, it would be seen as a victory. So he actually has higher expectations for the women than the men. He also completely ignored the fact that the women’s game is growing. It’s not 2003 anymore where you could expect Sweden to steamroll Spain, Italy or England, because they barely had teams, certainly not professional players.
Yeah sometimes I just have to laugh at some of the takes that come out because they're so outlandish just not in line with what we know this team is about and everything around us

Huh, so Luis Enrique doesn’t believe De Gea should be the starting keeper either. The English media strikes again. 😂🙄

@weareunited It’s just horrendous and people will say we’re ungrateful, but the thing is if I were one of those women, I’d totally take the MNT’s words of encouragement, pride and them standing with the girls over receiving the money. It’s solidarity in a way, but not the kind that is critically needed.
BUT most of all now I look into the events properly, I’m angry with the Danish FA. They got to the final of the Euros this year for goodness sake, they deserve their pay, not a pay dispute and the men should not have to be covering for the FA because the FA are so greedy! And apparently ofc the FA have rejected both offers, including the proposal for the men to give a part of their pay agreement (60k) over to the women’s team. And like you said really, 60k between them is still so little considering how much men in football get, albeit this is Denmark so a little different to leagues like Spain, England, France, USA etc.
