Cheryl Bruce
Cheryl Bruce is a 25 year old mixed media artist from South East London. Cheryl’s attention to detail, creative questioning and love for fine art lead her to purse her study within Art & Textile design. During this time she received devastating news, losing her step father to lung cancer she decided to pour that emotion into her F.M.P ‘Untitled Memoir’ a series of garments and textural fabric manipulations highlighting that particular time in her life, celebrating her step fathers life whilst depicting fragments of the destructive effect of the disease on the human mind and body.
Cheryl now combines her love of textile art and design through sampling & photography with her love of baking, creating original, innovative, custom, contemporary cake art! The message behind each piece of work produced is ‘finding the beauty within deterioration’. Her signature style is very much influenced by the breakdown of natural matter, weathering and decomposition, to ‘find the beauty’ is to understand the natural lifecycle of matter, from decomposition new life is born.

Cheryl also enjoys tapping back into her past of spoken word and poetry hoping to share more of her words with the world rather than just in her journals. This year she has also decided to voice more of her personal experiences and has since began a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer support, aiming to raise £2000 a small contribution to an amazing organisation helping families & patients offering emotional and financial support to those living with Cancer and the families of the patients, so far she has managed to raise just over £200 and is still on going until her target is met. Cheryl Bruce aspires to continue her journey within the textile/ interior design industry, by exploring her interests in photography & tv she hopes to one day produce her own show around her unique design ideas and share her craft with a wider audience.
Known for her versatility, willingness to try new ideas and drive she chooses not to limit her artistic flair to only one medium. I solve problems visually, my creativity is fluid’.

Natasha, Author, Teacher, CEO & Head cake designer of nocakesrbetter began her baking business back in 2009 and has since launched an online academy & podcast ‘ncrb.academy’ sharing useful business advice, strategies & courses for those within the baking industry.
Since the out break of the Covid-19 Pandemic hit Britain completely overturning life as we once knew Natasha has become more of a crucial point of contact and mentorship spreading support and encouragement to a community hardest hit, the home bakers, whether it’s through her videos and posts on Instagram or simply responding to you through the DMs.
Within the last 2 weeks of lockdown SUPERWO-MUM Natasha recently launched ‘Quarantine caking’ free weekly baking classes via her YouTube channel held every Friday https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0D7-KnXGLs2Wv4u16fvaEg
The aim of ‘Quarantine caking’ is a way to provide mother’s now at home having to juggle home schooling + work life with an extra activity keeping their children occupied and interactive a great way to bond reducing online activity.
Earlier this week Natasha also managed to organise a video in response to the Tyler Perry ‘He’s got the whole world’ in his hands challenge ‘Bakers edition’ which I was happy to be a part of, further spreading hope and positivity with our local south London Baking community.
