jsyk i’ll be not blogging about nick going to sxsw, i know he’s contractually obligated to attend the festival, but i’m not going to support his presence at an event whose sponsor gives isr*el weapons to keep killing innocent people in palestine.

i was already prepared to ignore the movie since it comes from a very very problematic book, but the fact that they decided to present it at sxsw is the last straw to me.

Hot Summer Nights is a 2017 film written and directed by Elijah Bynum, in his film debut, starring Timothée Chalamet.

On March 26, 2015, the debut of Elijah Bynum was announced with his screenplay Hot Summer Nights, set in 1991 on Cape Cod, which ended up in the 2013 Black List of the best screenplays ever produced.

The film had its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 13, 2017 and was released in US theaters starting on July 27, 2018.
