HI!!!!! omg adljkfas what douaka thoughts do i have that i don't want to spill out like a fucking water fountain.

Ok so I just think that Douma would worship the ground akaza walks on. Like this man loves akaza and yes i know he doesnt experience emotions but consider this, i dont care i think akaza really makes something spark inside of douma because at first douma probably was only mildly entertained by messing around with akaza and making him mad, but after a while, the routine of trying to rile him up becomes a comforting thing and a challenge at the same time. And every time douma manages to get a reaction out of akaza its like sparks going off inside his chest and huh, thats weird, thats never happened before. And it really just becomes a case of like, douma living a monochrome type of life because all of his emotions are dulled. And even though he smiles and makes jokes and is friendly and upbeat, he feels empty inside. But then theres akaza and his vivid and passionate reactions are like splashes of color in douma's life. He finds himself looking forward to seeing akaza and making him mad because theres just so much emotion in those eyes of his. And yes its anger and hatred directed at him but its so intense and douma eats it up. He wants to be the cause of that passion, of that emotion, that wells up and spills out of akaza like waves. And he doesnt really realize it, doesn't really know what to call this feeling (and isn't that amazing? hes feeling something) inside of him but he slowly and then suddenly falls in love with akaza. It's like a steady decent before finally falling off a cliff, and once it happens theres no going back.

I have so much more but i will end it here. im legit writing this out like fucking prose because i have no self control. and it sucks that i can't write multichapter fics to save my life because i want to write so much about them. so you get my word vomit, and maybe at some point ill make it into an actual story ( っ´ω｀c)

Tanjiro helped (name) change their little fabric diapers "how can such little bodies produce so much poop..." (Name) mumbled to the beta who laughed "they are little poop machines, my siblings weren't much better" Tanjiro said as nezuko watched curiously "they're going to be strong, I can tell" Tanjiro said sweetly to the Omega "you think?" (Name) asked softly and both Tanjiro and Nezuko nodded.

The siblings felt pity for the omega, they knew (name) wanted to find love with rengoku but...they also knew the Alpha never said how he felt to poor (name) who had no option but to give up on his feelings.

And then to be soulmates with his natural and literal enemy?

It was just cruel.

"How do you deal with this (name)?" Tanjiro asked genuinely as he looked at the other "..." (Name) was quiet as he gently traced his pups cheeks, noting how much they bare resemblance to their father "I want to scream and cry but... I'm also so happy? I can't describe it" (name) said genuinely "my entire life was changed and I had zero options but to adapt or die, I haven't had a second to process... If i wasn't trying not to die I was busy handling other things..." (Name) said genuinely "I know I'm asking for something unfair and impossible, it's unfair to ask if anyone but... I just I want my pups to grow up with both sides, I don't want to deny them that"

Tanjiro hugged (name) gently and Nezuko placed her hand on the omegas knee, the siblings comforting their friend, knowing (name) just wanted to be happy.

Rengoku was deeply uncomfortable as he stood beside Kokushibo, the demon silent as they stood guard in front of the only entrance of the home, both men having their hands on their swords in case anything were to happen.

He heard the crying and the grip on his blade tightned, it took everything for him to not leave his post and comfort the Omega that was almost his.

The pups that should have been his.

"Your self deprecation will not change events, so cease" Kokushibos words were blunt and cold to the Slayer, annoyed by his pharamones that were leaking everywhere.

"You wouldn't understand" Rengoku spat at the demon who rolled.his eyes "nor do I care, control your pharamones"

"I loved him but I missed my opportunity" rengoku said and Kokushibo tried so hard not to kill him right then and there "I knew he loved me and I never said anything! I suck!"

"You were a coward" kokushibo said bluntly "now he is someone else's Omega, you must move on"

"I-I know..." Rengoku couldnt be the one (name) could be with but... He will be the one that can help (name).

(Name) did let Muzan see his pups, he was angry not a monster, watching the demon interact with the tiny bundles of joy who immediately recognized their dad though (child A) kept grabbing at his hair.

"They're so weak..." Muzan fondly and (name) huffed "they're babies, if course they're weak" (name) said softly as he scented one of the pups though Muzan could feel the tension from the omega.

Sadly Muzan was far to prideful to give into his omegas demands.

Muzan left (name) scented items that the Omega begrudgingly accepted and added to his nest, the pups enjoying the scent of their papa.

(Name) got used to the demons and slayer's as a routine, finding company with Doma again as the demon visited his "favorite human" as he liked to say, ignoring how delicious the Omega smelt.

"He's really serious about this" Tengen mumbled as Giyu nodded "he wants his children to have a functional childhood, he's a good Dam"

"He's asking us to be friends with demons!"

"He's not asking you to be friends, he's asking all of us not to kill each other for his pups wellbeing"

"I would rather die than befriend those monsters"

Shinobu remembers her sister talking fondly of wanting demons and humans to live in harmony, she held her beliefs too deep down.

Then she met Doma.

Then she was reminded about how much she hated demons.

But (name)...

He reminded her so much of her beloved sister Kanae, the Omega sharing the same desire for demons and humans to co exist.

A small part of her rooted for his dreams, wanting the fighting... The suffering... For it all to stop.

(Name) remembered when he was little, tengen would sneak him little treats when their father would shame him for not being a good Omega, the boy just wanting to hang out with his brothers...

"I will never treat you how my father treated my siblings and I, whatever you want to do... I will support" (name) said softly to the sleeping pups who clung to each other so helplessly "who knows what's to come in the future but I know you both will thrive..."

A knock came at the door, Rengoku opening it at the soft 'enter' with food for the Omega as Kokushibo kept guard, once the next team arrived they were off duty.

(Name) perked up at the other, a slightly sad smile on his face as he offered the Alpha to sit "come... Meet my pups" (name)s words kind as Rengoku looked heartbroken at the pups, the tiny bundles of innocence that should have been his...

It was almost painful as he watched the Omega soothe and scent the pups.

God, if he was just (name)s soulmate... Everything would be better.

(Name) would be happy, provided for and never a worry in his mind.

He could see his brother and friends whenever he wanted, their pups would thrive.

Yet here he was, useless.

He tried to move on but seeing him like this... It killed him.

"(Child A) kind of looks like you when you accidentally spilt Shinobus tea" (name) commented as the pup yawned and it did look like he was screaming in fear "I was not that scared!" Rengoku laughed as the pup snuggled back in the nest "you hid from her for a week" (name) teased and the blond pouted playfully "they're cute kids" he comments genuinely and (name) beams "they're my world!"

The two chatted like the old friends they were as (name) ate happily.

(Name) needed Muzan.

Bad.

The Omega whined when he woke up and he wasn't there holding him or reading but (name) did this to himself.

He's the one who booted his alpha out.

(Name) found himself crying as his pups slept, not hearing Muzan enter with his breakfast "why are you crying?" The demon asked, crouching before the Omega and setting the food to the side "alpha..." (Name) mumbled, feeling just overwhelmed as the pups kept him up all night and day, needing to be fed more due to them being half demon.

"Alphas here now" Muzan said kissing his mate gently, pulling him close and scenting him and Muzan could feel the exhaustion radiate off him in heavy waves "my omegas putting to much on himself" Muzan said almost playfully, a tone (name)s never heard "I just...want everyone to get along... It's all I ask"

"How about you see them once a month... Do whatever you humans do and then return back with me to the infinity castle" Muzan asked as if he didn't have plans to remove the problem from the equation, he knew the slayer's were planning something as well.

They were just waiting.

"That place is far to dangerous for pups!" (Name) grumbled out as he played with his mates sleeve "I'm building a new home for us, so you can play with our pups... The castle will be temporary besides the pups can't even hold their heads up"

"..." (Name) was quiet as he wiped the tears from his eyes "do you promise to keep your word?"

"If course beloved" until his plan goes as he wants of course.

You see, humans are predictable and he's waiting till one of them slips up so it seems they attacked the demons against (name)s wishes.

And he just had to wait.

Both parties gathered as (name) spoke of the compromise, Muzan playing supportive husband and watching them seethe.

It was phenomenal.

The slayer's obviously argued but (name) chirped "Muzan wouldn't lie!" The Alpha wouldn't lie per day but he did keep secrets and manipulate but his sweet Omega didn't need to know that.

He just needed to be his perfect little mate and one day his little Emperor consort to Muzans emperor.

Muzan had a nursery set up when they returned to the infinity castle, the pups set in and the Alpha having his mate relax on their bed, kissing (name)s swollen ankle as he rubbed his feet.

He was doing anything to get (name) to be happy with him, the two seperate for far to long and the poor Omega needed to be reminded he only needed Muzan.

He doted completely on (name) and the pups, making it well aware his priorities were them so when he went to see his family, the hostility would make (name) mad.

And come to Muzan for comfort.

All he had to do was wait.

Y'zel Tia

My main character and subject of most of my writing. He is pointedly not the Warrior of Light. As of Dawntrail, he has settled in as Hien's husband in Doma, taking a teaching job at the enclave while also maintaining his relationship with his soulmate, Claudien. On top of his duties as the Doman Consort, he returns to Old Sharlayan to further his studies under the Anthropology department on the reflections of Hydaelyn and continues to curate for Gage Acquisitions in partnership with Gubal.

The Warriors of Light

For my WoL line, I have three warriors of Light!

Violet Fisher - A former student of Louisioux disillusioned after his sacrifice. She worked odd jobs to fund her drinking and sailing until called to adventure by the Mothercrystal. Try as she did to resist, she eventually found herself with family and friendship she long needed. As of Dawntrail, she's recently found Hien to be her half-brother and has started a relationship with Riol Forest. U'rahn Nuhn -Son of U'odh Nuhn. He set forth on an adventure to prove himself a hero and worthy of becoming of a Nuhn. While he stumbled all the way, he more than proved himself alongside his sisters-in-light. As of Dawntrail, he's proposed to his girlfriend, @driftward 's Nyx Blackmoon, sired eight daughters, and has embarked on a new relationship with Erenville.

Jannie Eyradoux Fortemps -Once engaged to one of the Heavenward, she fled to seek a life of being simple governess in Gridania but was bound by duty to answer the call of the Mothercrystal. As of Dawntrail, has married Artoirel Fortemps and has one son, Haurchefaunt.

How do they feel about unrequited love?

Naru had an "unrequited love" like one time

And it was teenage "love." before ARR she was hanging around in Doma, and Hien was having her help out with the Doman resistance because Naru is, and always has been, a very vicious fighter. And during the time she was following his guidance, picking up the sword from him (and surpassing him in skill almost instantly) she started to have the inkling that he was her Nhaama

well, she was a dumb little teen.. and she kissed him, and he rejected her. After this, she took it as a sign that when she met her soulmate, she would instantly know it. She then proceeded to turn down many people throughout the years until she met Elidibus ^^;;;; so to her unrequited love isn't 'real' because she has a really (toxic and unhealthy) strong belief in soulmates

after EW and everything now, she probably doesn't feel the same >.>;;; as she's grown out of the soulmates fixation thankfully. but I think she simply wouldn't know how to feel about it at this point, she is still trying to learn to have a healthy relationship with the concept of love itself

i tend to default to co-wol interactions because i don't have a non-wol verse, so that's what i've kept in mind while answering this!!

honestly, i think iriste and koharu would really get along well. both are incredibly empathetic and while it might take a little bit for them to get past each others' defenses, ultimately would be very good support for the other. a prime example of this is: where iriste isn't especially temperamental, koharu can be, and in that sense i think iriste could be very good for helping to keep her in check. both have similar dispositions, so i think they'd also find a nice quiet solace in each others' company in whatever capacity that may be

potential bonding moments outside of having a shared occupation:

growing up in garlean-occupied doma meant that much of her culture was outlawed and, as a result, koharu is very attached to it. for this reason alone, she would be very excited to share it with iriste as soon as koharu realizes how receptive to learning about it she is.

koharu is... not great at cooking — not bad per se, just not great — but she excels when it comes to making sweets. she knows enough about cooking to get by and isn't especially picky so she never felt the need to really develop the skill, but her sweet tooth demands more of her. she has priorities, okay? the point here is that iriste can teach her to be Better™.

additionally, both have a bit of experience with alchemy, and can trade tips and recipes. koharu tends to make her own potions and certain oils needed for weapon/armor care, but she's also surprisingly vain and would love to learn about the fragrances iriste makes.

Summary: On the eve of Ala Mhigo’s long-awaited freedom, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the Crystal Keepers enjoy a well-deserved respite from the battles they endured.

Rhalgr’s Reach was, surprisingly, mostly quiet for the first night of the freed Ala Mhigo. Most of the Resistance was in the Lochs, either celebrating the night away in the newly christened capital of Ala Mhigo or searching for any Garlean stragglers.

But, in the leader’s tent, all was not so quiet.

Lily looked around the brightly colored tent, smiling softly as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and the Crystal Keepers were happily in conversation about the trials and tribulations they had gone through, what good memories they could share about the war for Ala Mhigan and Doman independence. Those that weren’t so inclined to speak kept themselves busy by other means, such as the elezen bard Virberos Autumnstar, who was playing softly on a harp. As of the moment, Ophelia held the metaphorical stage, telling the Scions and the Keepers about her adventures in the Azim Steppe, mostly with finding out about her Au Ra heritage and how she promptly got into a martial match with an Au Ra named Magnai about the whole thing.

“He said that, if I wasn’t a half-breed, he could’ve entertained the possibility of me being his soulmate. I said ‘Maybe you should stop proposing to every woman who kicks your ass!’ You should’ve seen the look on his face!” Ophelia punched her hand. “And for that, he charged himself right into a jug of water!”

“I’m surprised you weren’t kicked out for that.” Alphinaud said, eyes wide.

“Eh, this was after I proved myself strong enough to be ‘a warrior of the Steppe’, nevermind the fact that I only went through that trial just to get more information about my dad and uncle’s heritage.” Ophelia shrugged. “But I figured out some stuff about myself along the way.” She lifted up her sleeve, revealing pitch-black scales, similar to the Au Ra. “Apparently, my dad and uncle’s ancestors came from the same tribe Magnai leads today; the Oronir. Not that I’m yearning for a run for his position...but I’m not going to say no to kicking his ass again. That was fun!”

“Reckless as usual…” Y’shtola sighed.

“But I looked cool!” Ophelia pointed out. “You’re starting to sound like Master Matoya.” That comment came with an even heavier sigh.

“Now now, let’s not tease the only one who can heal you in the field of combat.” Came the gentle chiding of the Miqo’te samurai, Khona’to Akhabila. One of the oldest in terms of age, his aged amber eyes peered at the young red mage with amusement. “I am verrry certain that Lady Y'shtola would leave you without healing for that.”

“Aw, come oon.” Ophelia pouted. “You’re starting to sound like my dad.”

“That’s because he is.” Thancred cheekily pointed out. “A father, I mean.” He turned to Khona’to. “You went out adventuring well after your own kids were grown.”

“Yes. I believe the Hyurs called it wanderrrlust.” Khona’to smiled. “Whatever you wish to call it, it led me here. And I could not be happier to share this victorrry with all of you.”

“You’re going to make me blush!” Lyse giggled. Lily glanced over to her, noticing the pugilist's face was already flushed from the alcohol. It seemed that making her blush was already done. Lyse glanced over to the mage before her blue eyes glanced down to her hands. “I was wondering something, actually. You got a new ring on and I’ve never seen it before. Some sort of good luck charm?” She asked. Lily glanced at the ring, the signet ring of House de Borel, before smiling.

“Something to that effect.” She turned to the Scions and the Keepers, fully aware that their attention was on her. “I’m pleased to announce that I’m engaged to Ser Aymeric.” A quiet fell in the room for a moment before Lily noticed their faces weren’t exactly as surprised as she expected.

“Finally.” Thancred broke the silence with an exasperated (but still playful) sigh. Lily whipped her gaze to him.

“What do you mean finally!?” Lily demanded, earning laughter from the others. “I thought it’d be more...surprising, you know! Not every woman gets to claim they’re engaged to a leader of a city state-”

“That’s true, unless you’re Ser Aymeric. Do you remember what I told you, before the grand melee?” Thancred asked.

“That one would think a politician more practiced at concealing his emotion?” She paused. “No, a bit before that-”

“That it was love.” Thancred finished her sentence. Lily frowned at him.

“Ok, now you’re just cheating.” The rogue held up his hands.

“Well.” A new voice spoke up. Lily glanced over, watching as the elezen dancer Syldove Wavesinger stepped forth. “Regardless of how obvious the blooming romance was, a new engagement is something to be celebrated.” She settled down on the floor, pushing back her striking red hair. “A word of advice, Lily: Cherish every moment you have with him. It’ll be those memories that’ll keep you moving even in the darkest hour.”

“...mildly cryptic, as usual.” Alphinaud commented. Syldove shrugged.

“I’m saying this from experience, Alphie. All of us are deeply entwined with the fate of Eorzea and the star we all live on.” Syldove pointed out. “There’s work to do beyond freeing Ala Mhigo and Doma. Who knows where it’ll take us?”

“Hopefully to a place where you can stop being cryptic.” Virberos spoke up. “We should enjoy the night while we can, not worry over future trials and toils.” Syldove scowled at him before sighing.

“Undone by a bard, woe is me.” With that, merriment began to fill the air once more. Lily chuckled and leaned back against a plush pillow, her gaze settling on the signet ring as Syldove recounted her experiences in Doma.

the Fire Nation is an island nation that has to have had every bit as much cultural veneration of the ocean as the Water Tribes, and so what the fuck was Zhao thinking killing the Moon Spirit and potentially destroying not only their primary non-colonized food supply, but the source of their military power (the Fire Navy) as well

dovetailing with that: aside from the time Azula electrocuted him, every time the Fire Nation seriously threatens Aang, the Avatar, they get their asses comprehensively handed to them. The Spirit World (as much as there is ever consensus) stands emphatically against them. It’s not a very safe stance to take, disregarding your own religion when your gods are verifiable forces of nature who furiously oppose you

Azula and Zuko and the Golden Child/Scapegoat method of child-rearing

Dovetailing with that: Azulon, Ozai and Iroh, and inter-generational trauma. Also, Iroh was the prodigy to Ozai’s average, and this was relevant to how Ozai treated his own children

the fucking timeline doesn’t add up: either all three Firelords were popping out kids in their sixties or there’s a generation gap in there somewhere, probably between Sozin and Azulon (I posit a missing daughter, one who opposed her father’s genocide of the Air Temples and abdicated/was forced out, whose son, Azulon, Sozin raised as his own son and heir rather than grandchild)

waterbenders should be able to lightning bend I’m right and you all know it

(the predictably controversial) Aang and Zuko have all of the narrative beats of an epic enemies to lovers soulmate plot, and this did not occur to the writers at the time of writing because it was 2005 and a children’s show and DOMA was still a thing. If atla was airing now, post-Steven Universe, post-She-ra, hell post-Korra, people would legitimately feel queerbaited by the story as presented. (Don’t argue w me on this one, I’m not even talking about shipping them per say, I’m talking about narrative beats and storylines and the drastic change in audience expectation in the 15 years since the show premiered. I don’t care if you think it’s problematic, that’s not why I’m here)

my intense FEELINGS about the Southern Water Tribe throwing itself into a war that they easily could’ve avoided on the moral grounds that genocide and land theft are abhorrent, and must be opposed, and how the North fucking abandoned them in their own self-protective isolation, and so they prospered while the South dwindled, and look I have a lot of feelings and opinions about it ok?

Mai/Zuko is good actually

the Earth Kingdom wasn’t an “earth” “kingdom” before Chin the Conqueror, and the swamp benders aren’t the only micronation of non-earth benders living in secluded parts of the continent. Also the Kyoshi Islanders might be devotees of an earth bending native Avatar, but they have more cultural ties to the Southern Water Tribe at this point. Also minority bending cultures like the swamp benders, sand benders, and sun warriors imply a minority air bending culture (possibly Guru Pathik’s culture) that (maybe) Sozin and the Fire Nation never found.

hanami very rarely remembers her dreams, but the ones she does remember are usually very disjointed and weird. she dreams of her old house in monzen--what she can remember of it, anyway--but it’s way bigger than it should be, more the size of ishgardian manor houses, and she’s an adult, even though she left monzen as a child. and she’s wearing her coerthan winter layers even though it’s high summer in yanxia and she’s super hot but for some reason her house doesn’t have a front door so she can’t go inside to change and she can’t just take her clothes off in the garden (but she’s wearing a lot of layers, and she could, but it’s absolutely not allowed for reasons she can’t figure out) and then an amaro flies by and offers to pour a bucket of water over her head but if he does that it’ll ruin her makeup and she has to stand guard at the throne room in doma castle with ran’jit and he’ll make fun of her if she looks disheveled.

she suspects, sometimes, that the echo lets details bleed in either from the dreams of people around her or from her literal soulmates, because she didn’t used to dream of climbing scaffolding to watch the stars and she definitely never dreamed of flying on amaro. but they’re nice dreams, so she doesn’t mind too much.

The first time Daniel Le Domas meets Grace Quincy, he knows he’s fucked. 

But that’s because she says his Words. The ones that had showed up on his arm when he was seven. The ones that simultaneously made fear churn his stomach (because their timing couldn’t have been a coincidence), while hope made it a little bit easier to breathe (because that meant he had a soulmate (which meant he couldn’t be as bad as what his family thought of him, especially after that night, right?) and that meant he was still capable of loving and being loved).

“You’re a douchebag,” she’s laughing at the playful jabbing Alex lets him get away with whenever they see each other. They’ve gentled over time, but it’s not often that he sees his brother, what with both of them having their separate lives and Alex getting out from under their parent’s thumb. Daniel’s not so lucky. 

Even less lucky in love, it seems. 

“Oh, fuck me.” he’s stunned, even moreso when Grace’s face falls and her hand goes to her side, palm cupping over the area that he can only guess where her words reside. And it's obvious Alex doesn’t know them by how he hasn’t reacted at all.
