This 2018 Soter North Valley Pinot Noir is ridiculously good. Crunchy red berries, violets, cedar and earth combine for something that reminds me of 1er Cru Volnay. It is more fruit forward than its Burgundian look-alike, but it has the same backbone, acid, balance and seriousness. Considering that this cost me only $27.50, it is a screaming deal and it may still be worth buying at twice this price and it would still cost less than 1er Cru Volnay.
