Lock is asleep and I'm supposed to be writing but I dun wanna so I'm gonna ramble about That One TAMN AU where the zombies never happen.

So the recent TAMN chapter where Grian does his little thought experiment where he broke up with Scar before he ever cheated and he thinks that maybe they could've been friends again one day reminded me of this AU again. And while like, the AU where he never cheated is arguably the best one, the one where he cheats but the zombies never happen is (imo) way more interesting.

Because, just like TAMN, just because they're broken up doesn't meant that Grian like... Gets It? So I imagine that, in that little period where it's been long enough after their break-up for the initial big hurt to pass, but not yet long enough for Scar (or Grian tbh) to have moved on, Grian does... the kinda dumbass shit he does in TAMN. Where he like... tries to come onto Scar repeatedly lmao

AND TO BE FAIR TO HIM LIKE. IT'S NOT LIKE SCAR ALWAYS SHUTS IT DOWN. Yeah he probably closes the door in Grian's face more than once, but Scar has bad days, lonely days, days where he wishes he felt loved again, and hell. If Grian turns up on one of those days... so long as he's gone by morning, Scar lets him in for the night, you know?

ANYWAYS. All this to say that I was going thru the TAMN playlist Lock and I have, and this was one of the songs I chose for the No Zombies AU, and god, it fits so well.

Tossing around some beezelpunk concepts drawing heavily on dieselpunk both because of the etymological roots but also because I think the combination of the heavier machinery (as opposed to prefix-punks like steampunk or solarpunk) with bees makes for an interesting dynamic!

Those cigarettes are made with flowers and while I cannot convey smell via sight, the entire time I was drawing this I was imagining a pervasive cloying sweetness associated with machinery

Just got back from Comifuro!! It was incredibly fun and I got to meet some very cool people!!

It was like 5 hours of nonstop walking but it was worth it imo

So my sister, partner and I went after-christmas shopping bc walmart had everything xmas 50% off and candy 25% of right

They had these large kids squishmallow chairs right, and I was like Oh! Those are cute! And my sister looked at it and asked if I was going to buy it bc it was an axolotl and I love axolotls (used to have one before he passed). I told her no bc it was $35 even on sale and I didn't feel comfortable spending that much money on something like that with as little money as I have right now.

Y'all- My sister bought me the squishmallow kids chair. She told me to sit in it and try it out and when I confirmed I fit and it was comfortable she told me she'd buy it for me if I wanted (with the rule of 'if you ever get rid of it I want it back' bc cute.)

For size reference in case no one's seen them in stores, it's sitting on a regular sized wingback chair. that's how big if is lmao. The filling is a mix of the squishmallow fluff and medium sized foam beads, but it's p comfortable to sit on and I'm not a small person by any means.

I made some things this and last year that I’m still so unbelievably proud of. These are things that are emotional and meaningful to me. The best part of it all is since making this Fae’s design, I’ve not felt the itch to change a thing. It’s like this one just hit all the marks.

Rainbow Road, the ETD hub world, Pac-Bat, all these things are so close to my heart. I wish i would take Fae’s (and Bat’s) form and hop into those worlds, but i’ll settle for illustrating her in them!
