Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it's hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.
LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we're still contributing to it.
Stop using it. Stop using it for a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. We need to kill it.

hypothetical scenario for you all: the real king arthur returns. you meet him and you welcome him into your home. what is the first thing you do with him? keep in mind, this is a man from the 500s (he died in 542), and you are from the 21st century (2024).

Tip: Just write the scenes you want when you want to.
If you wait around for the inspiration to lead up to the great scene you're imagining, you may never write anything at all. Over the years I've come to realize that writing things in order actually HINDERS my creative process. Since I've given up on writing things in order or even in full context I've been able to get some really awesome scenes and then when I go back to work on the story I'm able to pull myself in and expand on the scenes, creating what happened before and providing context.
Might not work for everyone.
Does mean you'll have to go back to make sure the things you want get written and that it's in the order you want.

What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.
Tumblr media
A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧

And why? Cultural norms? Personal schedule? “Cause I’m always late to everything”?
Bonus points: Region and/or ethnicity?

You know, when I see fictional characters who repress all their emotions, they're usually aloof and very blunt about keeping people at a distance, sometimes to an edgy degree—but what I don't see nearly enough are the emotionally repressed characters who are just…mellow.
Think about it. In real life, the person that's bottling up all their emotions is not the one that's brooding in the corner and snaps at you for trying to befriend them. More often than not, it's that friendly person in your circle who makes easy conversation with you, laughs with you, and listens and gives advice whenever you're upset. But you never see them upset, in fact they seem to have endless patience for you and everything around them—and so you call them their friend, you trust them. And only after months of telling them all your secrets do you realize…
…they've never actually told you anything about themselves.

going to town on yourself after a long, gruelling week of work, legs spread and your face all fucked out as the vibrator between your legs buzzes deliciously against your clit. you were using the sheets to cover yourself, but they're all soaked; oh well, it's getting stuffy anyway. best to kick them off to avoid overheating.
you're so caught up in chasing your fourth orgasm that you don't realise in the fat ass window that grants you a beautiful view of the city are two men standing on top of a suspended platform, looking right at you. the one with the mohawk gawks, his mouth hanging open, maybe even a little bit of drool seeping down as he eyes the mess between your thighs. the bigger one wearing the black disposable mask sucks in a breath, his jaw clenched as he catches sight of your pretty pink tongue sticking out of your mouth.
your glossy eyes blink open; you're so fucking close. all it takes is your focus darting over to the window where those men are intruding on your privacy, and suddenly you're squirting, eyes rolling to the back of your head as you experience the most intense orgasm in your life.
(the two window washers are still staring at you when you take a peek at them, unmoving. their intense gazes manage to snap you out of your daze, and you feel around for the remote to roll down your electric blinds before you hide your face in a pillow, your stomach still fluttering.
good luck trying to go outside to run your errands later on; you don't even make it into your car before you're cornered by the same two creeps in the car park.
maybe you should have closed the blinds before you started. oops.)

My toes strongly disagree, I grew up with claw-footed tables and such and I always, without fail, would stub my toes on the feet.
But I think a side table with cat paw feet would be amazing, so.... I see both sides.
i think furniture legs should be carved into little animal feet again.  i think that would solve a lot of problems.

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? That’s so wonderful! What an innovative construction! Isn't language wonderful?"

I have some first-hand experience of having had two friends who loved me a bunch and would gladly kill one another.
Without going on a long tangent about friendships and stuff... I was a chameleon as a kid and didn't develop my own personality until about 13. I wasn't a follower at all though, I just was nice to everyone and spoke my truth. I learned that people like to talk about themselves and that they felt better when I copied mannerisms or agreed with them on things. Of course, I didn't know that I knew this. I was subconsciously mirroring people since the age of 3. This lead to many people wanting to be my friend and many people fighting over me, tooth and nail when we were really young.
I actually had two kids get sent to the guidance counselor because they didn't want to share me as a friend. They ended up bonding over how much they hated the guidance counselor. They still hated that I liked spending time with both of them and never wanted to give the other person 1-on-1 time with me, but also never were happy if I was with both of them. They did, however, learn to get along if I wasn't there.
I had a similar experience with my cousins as a kid as well. Two cousins that didn't interact much, and I was often the only one they played with when get-togethers would happen, would on occasion meet. They never got along if I was there, but they told me they did just fine when I was gone.
This is long... I could go on forever... gonna stop now. I guess I don't have a point. Just wanted to share the these things happen.
The issue with many posts about platonic relationships in fiction is a lot of them conclude with the assumption that in order for people to care more about friendship, they need to learn that it's just as important or deep as romantic/familial/etc relationships.
Really i think if you want friendship to be explored more, you gotta write about all the ways it can be volatile and weird. We often act like love triangles can only exist as cheap romance plot, as if "friendship love triangles" with two people who hate eachother needing to coexist for a third mutual friend isnt a real phenomina.
