Granted, it was a cos test of sorts, so I still gotta finish some things and I plan on remaking the wig. But so far I'm quite happy with it!

You bite your lip in frustration as you try a combination of backing up, turning the wheel, going forward, and turning the wheel again, concentrated on inching your way into the tight parking space. After being in the state of half being inside the parking space and half out, you take a break to bang your head against the wheel, cursing Shoko for leaving you alone when she insisted on catching up with you at the hotel when she saw a pizza place she’s wanted to go to. The Hawaiian pizza she abandoned you for better be really fucking good.

As you ready for yourself to struggle through finishing parking properly, your soul almost leaves your body as you hear an assertive knock against your window. You pinch your eyes for a bit, steeling yourself for the mortification you’re about to bear, and then turn. Your eyes widen.

Looking at you through your window was a tall man, hunched over with an amused smile. He had blue eyes and white hair---hair you would’ve normally thought looked weird on people because you refused to dye yours with anything but naturally occurring colors, but it just worked on him. Without making him look like he was a weird otaku cosplaying an anime character.

Needless to say, you’re nervous and feel your face burning up as you roll down your window. “Hi, I know that I’m taking up a lot of space, but I’m just struggling through parking this right now. I’m really sorry. They did not teach this to me in driver’s ed---”

“Hey, hey. Calm down. You’re okay,” he chuckled. Wow, his voice was deep. Not crazy deep that he sounded like those TikTok guys straining their voice for their thirst traps or anything, but enough to definitely be deemed a panty wetter. “I’m Satoru. Let me park your car for you.”

Oh. Well, that was helpful. Kind of overwhelmed, you choke out a “oh, thank you” and get out of the car. Hey there lovelies! I saw so much continuous clowning today! 2-3 days in a row? It's been a while since we've had that much all at once! I'm so happy to see people feeling the love and camaraderie with each other again! I hope that continues even if we see things calm down! Something I heard in WJW today that really stuck with me was "We just want YOU Kristian", something David said when Kristian kept asking if his Belfast accent was okay for the role. How absolutely heartwarming is that? We knew that David and the rest of the cast and crew were kind and wanted everyone to be themselves, but to hear that out of the mouth of Kristian and how it affected him, in his book where he poured out his soul-- just hit so much harder. That really is one of the major values that drew me, and I know quite a few others of the crew to OFMD so hard. Acceptance and celebration of individual uniqueness is at the core of OFMD-- it's part of the building blocks that makes our show so special. Each crew member has their own skills they bring to the table, and we can feel safe when we're allowed to be our true selves around others.

OFMD exudes that kind of acceptance in droves. We can hear it in their varying accents, in the wide array of queer portrayal, in the character's love and acceptance and forgiveness of each other-- in the music, the stage decoration, and the cinematography. We each are different, and we all bring things to the table that make the fandom, or the world a better place. We may not always get along, but it is in the uniqueness of so many crew we find creativity, love, kindness, acceptance, and a place where we can feel safe and learn to be more of our true and authentic selves. Embrace your uniqueness lovelies. You are different from me, from your moots, from your favorite fan artist/writer and that's fucking beautiful. We want YOU, crew. Be YOU in everything you do. Hello! A random and specific question has occurred to me, and I think you might have some thoughts, if you're ok with answering!

So, most of the time Judaism is passed down matrilineally. I know there are some exceptions, and some groups that believe Judaism can be passed down through either parent, but generally it's just through the mother. This is how dc accidentally made Bruce Jewish.

However, is it the birthing parent who makes a child Jewish? Or is it strictly the mother, regardless of if she gives birth to the child or not?

I know that sounds like I'm asking about trans Jewish people, but I'm actually curious how this would play out in a world where mpreg is normalized, like in an abo alternate universe. For instance, if Bruce is Jewish and gets pregnant as an omega, would his kids also be Jewish? I did look up perspectives on trans Jewish people having kids, and unsurprisingly views are divided but it seemed like people mostly consider the birthing parent being important, i.e. a trans Jewish man would have Jewish children regardless of the other parent. What are your thoughts on this, if you're open to sharing?

(This ask got longer than I meant, sorry I wrote you a whole essay lol. Also I really hope this doesn't come across as rude, and I sincerely apologize if it does. Tone is difficult on the internet!)

Oh, that's a very very interesting question. Another one I'd like to ask my rabbi if I ever work up the nerve.

I'm no scholar, so if someone else wants to correct me on this one, feel free. But here's my best guess:

The gist of matrilineal descent is that it emerged from a time when the only way you could guarantee that a child was Jewish was to witness the birth from a Jewish mother. Rape, missing fathers, etc all made it a grey area, and back then, it was the only way to be "sure" that a child was halachically Jewish.

The interesting thing is, this was a change from patrilineal descent, but people still argue about when that change happened. Depending on the denomination, matrilineal descent is very very important beyond just determining Judaism, or it's a vestigial practice that has stuck around because it's, well, tradition.

Now, origin and existence are two different things. While it might have emerged for certain reasons, modern standards have obviously changed. We can do DNA tests and other rituals. But a lot of major denominations will turn away patrilineal Jews or hold those with Jewish DNA at arm's length until their Jewishness has been determined. That's only changed recently, and even then very slowly.

So, now that that's out of the way -- how does this relate to omegaverse? I suppose carriers in a/b/o universes would be considered de facto mothers, because they give birth. From my (limited) understanding, the core of most strict matrilineal arguments are 1) we've always done it this way post reception of the Torah 2) it was the only way to ensure someone was Jewish and 3) there are inherent attributes to mothers/the feminine that Rabbis argue are metaphysical and important to consider.

But it depends on how you write omegas. Are they defined by their ability to birth? Are they dual sex or single sex? Do they have the ability to sire offspring in addition to carrying them? Do they serve a "motherly" role in addition to giving birth? All things to consider.

Me personally, I'm a big proponent of accepting all Jews as they are, as long as they're not proselytizing or cosplaying as Jewish from another religion. It's a closed practice but we're also dwindling in number, so turning away people because their father was Jewish and not their mother is bizarre to me. Especially if they were raised in the religion -- at that point it's a technicality, but many rabbis will still make you go through a conversion which is wild to me.

I would throw out there, for the sake of omegaverse -- if the carrier is Jewish, generally, in most cases, the pups are Jewish. That makes sense to me.

Oopsie, I'm a tiny bit late replying to this ask, I'm sorry, I was on the Luffy vs Katakuri mission :D but even if it's one day late it still counts anyway! I hope? :3

I think Law would probably not pay much attention to his own birthday. It's possible it reminds him of how he celebrated it with his parents and little sister, and maybe he wouldn't really be ready to celebrate it without them for quite some time. I bet Bepo, Penguin and Shachi had to work around that a lot, like claiming it's a "joined" birthday celebration of some kind, so they could make it easier for Law to accept it as fine again. After some time it would become a sacred tradition on Polar Tang to celebrate everyone's birthdays whenever they come by, Law's as well of course. Law would be always like "I don't need a big celebration party", but he would still accept the cakes and the gifts. Whenever someone asks him what he would want for his birthday he would just go with some easy answer like "anything is good" or "another coin for collection".

Of course, don't think Penguin and Shachi (and Bepo, he would be dragged into their antics 100%) would declare defeat that easily. Once in a while they would try to make Law's birthday more special than that and they would use all the possible resources to achieve it. Normal surprise party wouldn't work on Law, because he would expect a celebration to happen, and they can pull the "we forgot this year, captain, we're sorry" stunt only so many times before it stops working altogether. But let's say they caught a wind about Sora convention or some other Sora related big event happening somewhere. Of course they didn't miss the spark in Law's eyes when he first found out about it, but he denied and said it's for kids and he's good, and he definitely won't drag the whole crew to some silly event like that. That's the moment Penguin and Shachi decided THIS IS IT and they will make this event into next surprise party for their beloved captain. They're gonna kidnap his ass and bring him there so he can have the best day of his life!

They would conspire with the Strawhats for that, because damn, they're desperate to make it work, and they have to make sure Law has no idea about their sneaky little plan. They would dump their captain on Sunny for a week (officially Luffy was in trouble or something like that) so they scramble leaving him there, using some very thorough excuse (nothing less than that could fool Law), while in reality they will work on all the preparations. They also made sure to let the Strawhats know their meeting point and gave them the special mission they just Can't Fail No Matter What, which is to put Law to sleep somehow the night before their big meetup and Not Let Him Know About The Secret Plan. Knowing Strawhats, it would end in some disaster and Law would get a pretty good idea that something is fishy, at the very least. He would never guess it's for his birthday though, because it's not the correct month (it would be too much of a coincidence if the event happens in October, right?).

On the fated day they arrive at the venue where the Sora con is gonna happen and Law is dumbfounded. He noticed for a few days already that they're getting suspiciously close to the event (yes, he told his crew he's not interested, but he still remembered where the event was gonna be held and even traced down the island on the map before, ofc when he was alone). But he never expected to wake up to see his Hearts welcoming him on the island, all wearing self-made Germa and Sora cosplays, shouting a Happy Birthday to him, out of the season. Strawhats tease Law to death that he's such a fanboy and when Law sees his present (a Sora costume) he gets too embarrassed and refuses to wear it. Luffy notices that, takes it and wears it instead, even though it's too big on him, but he thinks it makes Law happy (it actually kinda does lol).

Law realizes he might as well get along with it, if only not to destroy Hearts efforts (he can tell how much work they put into it). And so they spend a whole weekend in the venue filled to the brim with celebratory stuff, Sora merchandise, Sora-themed arcade machines, Sora-themed cafes, cosplay contests (Hearts win it easily and they even manage to bring Law cosplayed on the stage too, but he refuses to later admit that it was actually him haha. Only Luffy knows, because Law needed the costume back for an hour). And there's that big screen in the venue ready for announcements, and they had a surprise big news to share, and it turns out Sora is getting an anime adaptation. Law malfunctions at that (by freezing in spot) from joy while Hearts make the loudest applaud the world has ever seen (Strawhats join in just because of the shared excitement, because they're Strawhats and that's what they do :D). Law spends the whole day being either dragged by Hearts around or dragged by Luffy to play with him on the arcades (Luffy sucks at it and insists he wants to get better and Law is stuck with him for most of the day as the result, not counting the food breaks and big announcements stuff Law refuses to skip no matter what). Law ends up skipping one of the meals just to stroll around on his own for once. He soon is found anyway and dragged along.

The day ends with special fireworks show at night, and some of the fireworks are forming the infamous 66 logo (damn Germa, Law would comment on it under his nose) and Sora's robot doing a laser attack at it (everyone's eyes would sparkle for a good hour afterwards). And while sitting there watching the show, Law would peek at everyone. At his Hearts rehearsing some cosplay skit they will do for one of tomorrow's contests (probably trying to recreate one of their favourite gags from Sora comics, and Yamato is apparently joining them for some reason), at Jean Bart who gets very excited too despite having never read any Sora comic before (he's cosplaying as Sora's robot companion and Law thinks he looks very cool), at Bepo who probably doesn't get all the details they're discussing but it makes him all very excited (he's cosplaying the Sora's seagull companion, that's why he's wearing a cap with a seagull sitting on top of his head. He even has a special string attached to it and when he pulls on it, the wings flap up and down, but he did it so many times today that it already broke). Ikkaku is of course cosplaying Poison Pink and she's selling it so well Law caught himself not recognizing her a few times already through the day.

Then he looks at the Strawhats. Chopper munches on some cotton candy he got from one of many food stalls outside (cotton candy comes in all the representative Germa's colors), Franky apparently got inspired by the fireworks show and all the cosplayers from earlier and is trying to create a Sora's robot miniature at the moment from the scraps he took from Sunny, Jimbei is just drinking one of the many cocktails (also based on Germa's color schemes and named after some of their cool attacks, damn that Germa) together with Zoro, Sanji is apparently trying his hand on preparing his very own variation of Sora-inspired recipe on quickly arranged half-borrowed equipment (bless him, he's the only one who understands Sora is cooler than Germa! Why are all the foods inspired only by Germa?! It's a Sora event!), Nami and Robin just enjoy the show, discussing something (Law has no idea they're actually talking about the gifts they got for him and will give him tomorrow, even though it's technically not his birthday). Brook falls paralyzed to the ground when Franky's laser from the tiny robot hits him, and he pretends to be a corpse (he's pretty good at it, too), only to get back up again a moment later and repeat it again and again, clearly having fun.

Meanwhile Usopp is nowhere to be found, but suddenly Sogeking is here and is trying to sell some tall tale to the Hearts that Sogeking is a long-lost friend of Sora Warrior of the Sea (that picks Law's interest for a moment, but he's sure he would have heard about that before if that was the case). And then there's Luffy who apparently tries to learn how to make one of Sora's attacks from one of the Heart Pirates. When Luffy spots Law looking at him he beams him a smile and gestures a surprise attack in his direction, which Law pretends to effortlessly dodge.

And when Law looks at all of them in this moment, he thinks he's kinda happy and that maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't avoid his birthdays anymore. Also, technically, it's not his birthday, so it's okay. He feels a bit like a kid again, celebrating with his beloved family, and even though they're not here with him, his other two families are instead. He also realizes this is probably the first time in his life when he just celebrated something for two days in a row, no attention divided by anything else, no work to be done in-between. And he finds himself really looking forward to another day of this event.

Little does he know the next day he is gonna be showered with gifts from everyone. His crew gives him a complete edition of every Sora comic ever released, in hardcover, and looots of cool looking Sora and Germa figurines. There's so many of them they each have to hold a few as they all approach closer to give it to him. Bepo though apparently missed the memo and gave him a T-shirt with a Sora's portrait on it instead (with the well-known credo of his "I will punish you in the name of the moon!" written on it as well), making Penguin and Shachi laugh (they all know Law prefers to customize his own clothes so no one dares to gift him any garments). Yet, contrary to their expectations, Law wears this particular T-shirt every other day on Polar Tang from now on. Penguin and Shachi also give him a commemorative coin from the event, one they custom-made so it's the only one in the whole world (if Law got touched by that he tried to hide it very, very well under his hat).

But Strawhats also gave him some gifts, which is something he never expected to happen. Franky gave him (a self-made!) projector so Law can watch the upcoming Sora anime on big screen/wall and added the tiny Sora's robot he was making yesterday (he indeed can shoot freaking lasers!). Zoro gave Law some really cool looking alcohol he apparently won in one of the competitions. It was produced in the year when the very first Sora's strip came out (Zoro of course had no idea, he just gave it to him because it looked pricey and he was looking for a gift anyway). Sanji brings him a definitely self-made but most impressive birthday cake Law has ever seen, on top of which small figurine (made out of sugar) of Sora is stomping over defeated Germa (he refused to give Law the recipe though, damn Kuroashi-ya). Chopper gave Law Sora's gun replica, because he thought it looked cool and it reminded him of Hiluluk's modified aneasthesia gun. He said he had to use his Strong Point and Horn Point to fight other people trying to land their hands on it, because apparently they were sold in extremely limited supply.

Robin gave Law a book that they sold only at this venue, documenting all the history of Sora's publication, trivias, interviews with the author etc. Most of things Law already knew, but never had them collected in one handy (and very thick) volume, and it becomes one of his most browsed books on his shelf from now on. Usopp and Nami queued through a number of lottery tickets to win a special price for Law and proudly present him a winning ticket. They probably spent a whole day yesterday exchanging and collecting receipts from people buying merchandise and food so they could get a decent shot at that. Brook hands him an autograph from Sora's author (with a small handrawn picture of Sora!) with dedication to no one else but Law written on it. Upon being questioned how he got it, he refused to share his secret, yohohoho. Coincidentally, the next day the event reveals a special guest on the stage, who happens to be the author of the Sora comics in person.

Jimbei is a simple man so he just got the commemorative set of cups and plates they sold at the event, for Law and all of his Heart Pirates (Shachi and Penguin thanked him with tears spilling out of their eyes like waterfalls). Yamato, who shares the same passion and fanboyish spirit (to Oden, not Sora, but still), went through all the amateur artists and bought the most interesting looking dojins. He couldn't decide which are the best, so Law is now getting three huge cardboard boxes filled to the brim, Yamato was carrying two under his arms, and one on top of his head as well.

Luffy saw a 1:1 replica of Sora's figurine and decided that will be his gift to Law (it probably wasn't for sale and Luffy stole it, now it has a sloppily wrapped ribbon around it, probably not Luffy's idea but someone clumsily trying to help him make it look more like a gift). Luffy thought it's the perfect idea, because he also dreams of having his own statue on Sunny. Law keeps it and doesn't allow Nami and the others attempt to return it where it came from.

In exchange for all the love he received, Law bought them anything they wanted as well, and paid for the food party they did at the end of the day. He also found out what was the special price he got the ticket for, which turned out to be a voucher he can redeem in all the places around the world related to Sora's adventures in the comics, it comes together with a treasure map marking all the related locations.

And that's how Law's room on Polar Tang turned into a huge Sora fanboy's display. Law of course bought some merchandise for himself as well, including the official poster for the upcoming anime, coasters, notebooks and pens with Sora's pictures on it (all very practical things). He was too embarrassed to hang the poster though, so it was sitting neatly rolled up in the corner of his room, until one day Luffy visited, found it and sticked it to the wall with superglue, and of course he made it very visibly crooked to the side, because Luffy has never hanged any poster before.

When the event finished and it was time to part their ways again, Strawhats and Hearts would make a promise to repeat this the next year, because the organizators already decided they will do another Sora event like this after the success of first edition. Law secretly thinks that day seems like an eternity away in the future.

WIBTA for unfollowing my friend-groups insta account?

When I was still in school my friend group (me, my gf, my bestie, his gf and 2 other friends) started cosplaying. We used to make CMVs and got a youtube account to share those, later we got an insta and a tumblr acc.

After school everybody besides my gf and me went to the nearest bigger city for university reasons. My gf and me decided to stay close to the town we grew up in. (We found jobs here and she couldn't really go too far away for longer time bc family reasons.)

So the friends live about an hour away now, that's fine, we can still visit on weekends, totally chill.

We also spent time at conventions together even though our cosplays didn't always match up.

A bit into this the friends start making new friends, which is obviously perfectly okay, I want them to be happy and the bigger the friend group the better.

But then our original friends stopped inviting me and gf along if they planned things.

If we were like "hey, next weekend we could come visit" everything was cool, we'd meet up, have a good time and we'd all say we'll have to meet up more often but then the friends never call again.

Instead they started doing little parties with their new friends and posting about it on our group's insta-account.

At conventions they always hang out and cosplay things with their new friends and only talk about their dnd group's adventures (which we also used to play together over discord during lockdown but now they only play with their new friends).

And honestly, yeah I'm kinda jealous but mostly I'm really fucking hurt.

Their new friends are amazing, don't get me wrong. New friends, gf and me get along perfectly fine. (Didn't spend enough time with them to call them our friends yet but they're super fun to hang out with at cons.)

But it hurts to see that some of their new friends have a longer way to get to them (one actually has to drive through our hometown) but they get invited to birthdays/halloween/new year's/... but we don't.

Gf and me also stopped telling our friends if we visit their city because we don't want to put in the only effort to keep the friendship going but we feel like absolute shit about it.

So now I'm thinking about at least unfollowing our group account on insta.

They only ever post pics & stories of their new friends and their fun time hanging out and I don't really wanna see that and feel left out anymore.

Would it be petty/asshole-y of me to unfollow since we're friends and we started the account together?

You refused to go against his wishes and instead tolerated Donatello's new attempt at gaining your attention. He splayed outfits that he and April picked out in front of you and examined them closely. You were more interested in the cuff around your leg than the suits and dresses....

"Alright... how about this one?"

You allowed him to force you into outfit after outfit. He cooes at you each time as if you're some sort of doll. You let him as you don't have much of a choice in the matter.

Donatello mumbles to himself before picking an outfit for himself to wear. You recall him dressing up with his brothers before. You just had no idea he was this into it.

Despite what he may think, cosplay was not going to fix his mistakes. No matter how much he tried to pry you from your shell of a mind, he was not going to make you like him again. Those days were over.

They were dead once he put that cuff on you like a prisoner.

You saw how happy you made Donatello. You just wished he didn't lose it. Despite his intelligence, he isn't okay up there in the mental stability area.

Donatello had freaked out when you tried to go home one night due to having a vacation coming up and locked you in the lair...

His smile is bright and his eyes are gleaming. You make him ecstatic even if it's his delusional thoughts taking hold. To him... you aren't cuffed and a prisoner to his whims.

Even when you jingle the cuff against the floor, he pretends not to hear. He's too busy picking out an outfit to match you while you, most likely, play video games and eat pizza. You sigh....

(I tried to post this last night but the app hates me. I don't know if that post got lost in the void and will reapear one of this days but just in case here it goes again).

So I went to the ConComics in Guadalajara. The tickets for the meet with Steve J. Ward were sold out for weeks and I was resigned to just see him hugging people from afar. I was NOT prepared for seeing him appeared on stage just at the end of the One Piece cosplay catwalk and give a live Q&A!!! He appeared just right there in front of me D:

For the photo with the cosplayers, he sat right in front of my friend cosplayed as Nami. All the other were trying to be as close to him as posible and she fought for staying in her place and succeeded. We're waiting for the official photos to be released.

For the Q&A he interacted with the public, was super fun and sweet. The AMOUNT of giggles and girls who lost it when he gave them the microphone for questions. Like 2 or 3 times, a girl got all asdsadsafd and wasn't capable of speak and he was all cute just smiling them and sitting at the stage with his hands on his face like "go on, you can do it".

I GOT TO ASK A QUESTION!

Thank god I did not lost it. I was sure I was going to forget english like some aquaintances who got to meet him for photo who were just capable to smile and nod like crazy when he asked them if they wanted a hug XDDDD

But I put it together and asked him which future scene from the anime he was eager to film. I'm pretty sure it was poorly structured but he got it and said he want to film the scenes of Mihawk and Perona because they're so different.

Sorry, I in fact did not have the guts to send him greetings from Tumblr XD And sorry if I don't have many videos or photos. I can't hold a phone and pay attention at the same time.

Am I an asshole for being upset at my bf for laughing at me?

My (F20) Boyfriend (M23) and I haven't been together for very long, but even despite that I currently live with him and his family so I can help his family with cleaning and taking care of their multiple pets.

Since it's so close to Halloween, I got really excited and have been talking about wanting to dress up as one of those sexy Scream girls, like on Tiktok and such. He was excited when I told him that I was going to dress up as one of them. After all, he's always said he liked chubby and curvy women, and I'm a curvy woman so I got even more excited!

Yesterday, since I couldn't find a Scream mask anywhere, I ended up buying a little cat masquerade mask just to at least have something for a costume. I tried it on in front of him after I bought it and he just kind of burst out laughing. When I asked him what was so funny, he just kept fumbling his words while laughing his ass off, so I calmly told him that I didn't appreciate being laughed at like that.

All he said was "Sorry, sorry" before going back to watching his anime.

Today, his mom went out of her way to find me a Scream mask and brought it home for me, I was so happy about it because I had kind of gotten a bit more self conscious already due to the day before. She told me to go try on my costume and show the family since they all wanted to see it, so I happily obliged and went back to my and my boyfriend's room to try on the costume in full.

The costume itself is a white blouse underneath bodycon black dress with lace and ruffles over the stomach (the bodycon dress is made for plus size people like myself). I figured the dress was too short to be appropriate so I ended up putting on a dark cool-gray skirt over the bottom half, and it looked adorable in my own opinion as I put on the mask. All of the clothes are in my size (I'm a size L, and I the clothes were all L to XL)

That's when my BF walked into the room and just looked at me for a moment while holding my phone. I think he was trying to show me a message I'd gotten, but I'm not entirely sure, but after a few seconds, he started openly laughing at me again.

Not like a friendly little flirty chuckle, but we're talking a FULL BELLY LAUGH. This man found something about me in my costume genuinely hilarious, and when I asked him what was so funny again, he just responded with:

"What are you trying to do? Cosplay a goth sausage by fitting into it?"

I immediately just went quiet and let him leave the room without saying anything, and I very quickly took the costume off and changed back into my normal clothes. He was still laughing as he went back to the living room.

Here's where I might be the AH. I went back out to the living room to retrieve my laptop and earbuds from the couch, and I told him, VERY CALMLY, that I did not appreciate being laughed at and that I wouldn't be going anywhere with him on Halloween as I no longer felt comfortable.

My BF got really upset at that and just threw his hands up, huffing and puffing while saying "FINE! FORGET IT!" Now, he's sitting out there and messaging my discord server with vague posts about how he's utterly useless and how he's been proven time and time again to be a failure. I never called him any of these things, nor did I even imply that.

AITA For getting upset when my BF laughed at me? Be honest, I'd rather know the truth so I can mend this situation.

Team Sky Anon: Chiaki what's your thoughts on the Minecraft movie trailer? I'm personally excited for it

Alright, I knew people were going to ask me about this...Strap in boys and girls. I'm gonna try and make this brief, but fair warning, you might not like what I'm about to say.

I'm going to explain something VERY CAREFULLY before I give my take on this movie.

Because more often than not, I don't have heavy, or strong opinions on things, especially games. I enjoy games, regardless of how good or bad they are, and the same applies to movies or TV shows based on those games.

But when I DO have an opinion on something, and people ask for me to explain it, I try to remain 100% completely honest when I give my takes, regardless of the risk of getting backlash, or starting arguments. I just straight up avoid these sorts of conflicts, like I should, but I'm never afraid to state what I believe.

Because at the end of the day, it's my opinion, and if you disagree, that's totally fine, because it's just a game/movie. We're not talking about genuine politics here.

This time is no different, so all I can request is that you hear me out, because it's of my understanding that the internet absolutely despises this trailer, and...it's not like I don't understand why. It's just another case of Warner Bros being stupid and problematic.

But...when I watched the Minecraft movie trailer for the first time...I really, REALLY liked it...!

And that's basically my take in a nutshell. I don't think this trailer comes anywhere CLOSE to how amazing the trailer for Sonic 3 was, but I still think it was a great teaser.

I definitely have some concerns and questions, like why aren't the human's blocky, why do the greenscreen effects look so...off, and why does Jason Momoa look like he's trying to cosplay a Barbie Girl?

But this is just a TEASER trailer. This won't give us any of the answers we're looking for. The OFFICIAL trailer will.

But besides the point, let me just try my hardest to explain myself, and explain why it is I like this trailer.

So, right off the bat, the first thing I love is the world. Minecraft itself. Everything in here looks so detailed, and the production design is fantastic.

Another thing I like is also the cast. The main 5 actors that we see in the trailer are Jack Black as Steve, Jason Momoa as Garrett, Emma Myers as Natalie, Danielle Brooks as Dawn, and Sebastian Eugine Hanson as Henry.

Sebastian is relatively new to the acting scene, and I know people have their concerns about the way this cast is presented in the teaser, but as a reminder, it's very rare for Jack Black and Jason Momoa to phone in a bad performance, Emma Myers is incredibly famous for A Good Girls Guide to Murder and Wednesday, in both of which she's awesome, and Danielle Brooks is an actual Oscar Nominee.

All in all, I like this cast, and I think they're gonna give us a really fun show.

And the last thing I love, as a gamer, is the Minecraft easter eggs in the teaser. Such as breaking down a block and having it turn small, crafting stuff on a crafting table...

E-Even if that looks a little funky...

And the creatures too. People keep dissing the sheep online, but I'm sorry to break it to you, if a Minecraft sheep was real, THAT'S what it WOULD look like. And the Creeper too! The Creeper gave me a huge smile!

But again, the hate for this trailer is astounding, and again, I understand it. But also, at the same time, I think it's a little overblown. All of this discourse and for what? Because people don't want a live action movie cast in an uncanny valley world made of cubes? Because the mobs look "ugly?"

I understand that I probably just look pretty simple minded right now, and for the record, I would prefer an animated Minecraft movie, but let me make it clear that I don't hate this.

And I am more than open to talking about this movie, and people's opinions on it, but my biggest question is...what exactly was everyone expecting? I know people are mad, but we got basically exactly what we were promised from this trailer, and this is exactly what it would be like if humans entered the Minecraft world.

How dare you! The love shared between them are nothing indecent like that. The love between them are wholesome and perfect. The Knight Janus and Princess Rose does not need to "bang" to confirm their love for one another. Instead they only need to look each other in the eyes and see each other soul reflected through them. Their love for each other so pure that anyone watching... I mean reading them will feel mentally and spiritually fulfilled.

Tukson: All right. I didn't mean anything by it.... Oh right, I almost forgot. The two people you hired to cosplay as the characters you just said will be late.

Ruby: I know right! Both princess Rose and Janus are my OTP. I mean how stupid could she be for not realizing it sooner. She clearly only seen to be comfortable with him. My favorite part is when Rose gives Janus the encouragement he needed to keep going.

Blake:

Thank you for the meal....

Narrator: While Blake is enjoying the sight in front of her eyes. A wicked thought starts to enter her mind.

Blake: Oh my adoring fans I would love to give you my autograph, but you have to do something for me first.

Jaune&Ruby: Of course!

Blake: I want you to cosplay as Rose and Janus for my book signing.

Jaune&Ruby: We're in!

Tukson: Wait a second... Bla. I mean Madame Noir can we talk for a minute, alone.

Blake: I'll be be back my children and the costumes are in the back. Don't forget to put it on...

Tukson: Blake... Did you use real life people as inspiration to write your book?

Blake: ...Yesn't.

Tukson: Blake. This is not right.

Blake: I'll tell you what isn't right! Seeing them day in day out. Interacting with each other without seeing any pay off. That isn't right. They have feelings for each other I knew it in my heart. But they refuse to admit it. So in desperation I wrote a fanfic of them finally being together and it ended up becoming a best selling series.

Tukson: Wait. So they're not actually together?

Blake: Enough! I will not have my ship be questioned. They are together and I refuse to believe anything that says otherwise. *Walks out of the door*

Jaune: Excuse me Madame Noir we finished wearing the costumes. So where do you want us to help you out?

Ruby: I must say this dress is not so bad. This is Princess Rose's combat dress from book one right? And Jaune. You look so cool. You're actually wearing a full body armor now and not just wearing it in some parts of you.

Jaune: Thanks Ruby... And you actually look very pretty in that dress.

Ruby: I am? Well thank you Jaune ☺

Blake:

*drop dead on the spot*

Tukson: Oh brothers. Wake up Bla- I mean wake up Madame Noir. Wake up!

Some times later

Narrator: After slowly waking up from a shipping related coma. Blake or Madame Noir can be seen later signing books for her adoring fans. While Ruby and Jaune poses with their costumes.

Fan: I can't believe I just met the Author of my favorite series.

Blake: Thank you for supporting me.

Fan: OMG can I ask the Princess Rose and Knight Janus cosplayers to enact a scene from the novel.

Blake: Hmmm. I don't know. Rose, Janus what do you think. You all okay with it?

(Rose:) Oh we won't mind. Do we Janus?

(Janus:) Of course my princess. I will obey your order no matter what.

Fans: Squee!

Blake: 😻

(Rose:) Now tell us what scene would you like us to reenact?

Fan: How about when Princess Rose and Janus "eloped" together to get away from Rose's fiance Garmin Westchester.

(Rose:) Ah. I like that scene too...

"My brave Knight. Why are you entering my room this late at Night?"

(Janus:)

"I beg your forgiveness my lady. But I cannot let you marry that cad Garmin. If my lady wants it I can get my lady out of here right away. "

(Ruby:)

"Oh, do tell me sir, Knight. Why would I want to run away from here? My duty is to my kingdom and if my duty is to marry Lord Westchester's son then I will do as duty commands it."

(Janus:)

"Then why do you said it with your back turned against me?"

(Ruby:)

"Because, because I have no need to do so. You should watch your tongue, Knight. You are speaking out of line."

(Janus:)

"Then, do you not mind his hands when he touches you? Caresses you? His breath as he said he loves you? And would you not mind it when his body and yours joined together?

If you say you want to marry Garmin, then I will leave you alone my princess. And I will not mentioned it ever again."

(Rose:)

"N-no, of course not. But I have my duty...."

(Janus:)

"Then turns and look at me in the eyes when you said that my princess."

(Rose:)

😭"I-I-I'd rather die than to marry that pig.

You were right Janus. I don't want to marry him but I can't just leave. I have my responsibility."

(Janus:)

"Then I will kidnap you, take you far away from here."

(Rose:)

"Then it will no longer be you helping me to escape. It will just be you taking me from my will. "

(Janus:)

"I would rather you hate me, but be happy and free in returns."

(Rose:)

"Even if we managed to escape my father will find and kill you."

(Janus:)

"A small price to pay. For my lady's happiness. But I will say this. I am not afraid to break my vow to your father. Because I swore my loyalty to lady Rose not the King."

(Rose:)

"Why would you go so far for me?"

(Janus:)

"Because we're friend... And mostly because I don't want to see you marrying someone you don't like"

(Rose:)

"What you are suggesting can be seen as elopement. And does that means I should marry someone like you?"

(Janus:)

"No my lady. Marry anyone that makes you happy. I am but a Knight with a meager land to my name. I can't possibly make you happy. "

(Rose:)

"But what if I say, I really do wanted to marry you. What will you do?"

(Janus:)

"Then... I would make you the most happiest woman in the world. I will never falter in my marriage to you and I will only have my eyes on you."

Narrator: Everyone that watches the scene suddenly founds themselves on the floor unable to process what just happened.

We're to even begin with meeting this beautiful pair. The closer I got to the front the more I could feel a panic attack coming my breathing started getting heavy and I was shaking. I cant thank the staff I wish I knew her name enough for being so patient and understanding. I sat down right outside the entrance where I couldn't see inside but knowing I was so close was not helping I was just completely overwhelmed emotionally.

I've been waiting to meet jared since the show came out and I've missed him and jensen every single time they have come to the uk due to the costs.

I honestly never thought I would get to meet either of them and the amount of times I've cried when I've missed meeting them.

I finally got up and tried so hard to hold it together but as soon as I Walked in and saw them I just cried I kept saying sorry I explained I'm so overwhelmed and that I've been waiting to meet them since the show started but have never been able to due to the expense, gen said "your here now" and they both kept saying its ok. I explained to them how much supernatural helps me being an escape with all my mental health problems and Jared said "good" they were both so patient with me jared even asked me if I want to sit down for a bit but I knew I would just be crying sat in the chair in the same space as them.

I said I dont want to cry in my photo and gen bless her placed her fingers under my eyes to sort my make up out. I explained how I wanted my photo and said "if it's ok with you" they were both totally on board and I'm so glad with how it came out especially getting to hold Jared's hands 🥰🤩

I cant thank everyone who was there enough for not rushing me and being understanding in regards to mental health and giving me time to get through the photo and meeting them.

2005 supernatural started that's alot of years waiting dreaming and almost giving up and it finally happened

Despite major organisational issues from Wales Comic Con (Sort it out lads) Jared was absolutely lovely in both photo ops and our autograph. He took time to talk to us despite mahoosive queues and was really complementary about our cosplays!

By Blood or By Choice pt. 5

The gym was buzzing with excitement. The anime party was all set, and the atmosphere was electric. King Hippo had arrived and was stationed at the refreshments table, where Little Mac and Star Mika were doing their best to protect the snacks from his voracious appetite. 

Glass Joe was cosplaying as Arsene Lupin III, the blue jacket attire, and was engaged in a lively conversation with Bald Bull and Cutie Hondo. Niki Binary was getting to know Little Mac’s fiancé Allie Treape while cuing up the first episode of the anime they were about to watch.

Just then, the gym door swung open, and a young woman backed into the room, talking animatedly to her phone, which was mounted on a selfie stick.

"Okay, my Luna-tics, here we are! Last stop, the WVBA gym. This is where all the magic happens, where the grind turns into glory, where punches fly and sweat drips. And let me tell you, the energy here is just—wow! It’s like walking into a guild house, but for real!"

It was clear that she was live-streaming a tour of the campus. Her eyes were bright, and her voice was filled with enthusiasm. 

"Look at this place, guys! Everything a boxer could dream of. All different kinds of bags, weights, cardio… check the rings! Can you imagine the epic battles that have taken place here? It's like a real-life RPG arena, but with boxing gloves instead of swords! And… is that a snack table?! Score!"

Everyone in the gym stopped what they were doing and watched as the young woman continued to stream, engaging with her audience and reading out comments.

"‘Hey, Luna! Where are you?’ Hey, c.i.cool101! I'm at the WVBA Campus gym, guys! Isn't it awesome? This is where sweat and tears turn into KO’s and titles."

“Aww, thanks for the 6 month sub, pip1026! Welcome to the #Hitmaker family, the coolest community on the internet!”

"’Who are all those people?’ Good to see you, bakaboxingfan706! Oh, they're just some of the boxers and staff, I guess. We’ll go meet them all in a bit!"

Niki, intrigued and slightly puzzled, walked over to the young woman and tapped her on the shoulder. "Um, excuse me, can I help you?"

The young woman turned around, her eyes widening in surprise. "Oh, hey! I didn't see you there. I'm Luna Doll, a content creator and a new WVBA boxer. You guys are live on my stream right now. Everyone, say hi to…" then she realized she didn't know who Niki was. "I’m sorry, would you mind introducing yourself to my chat."

"Um, sure? Hi! I'm Niki Binary, also a boxer here. But, uh, the gym is actually closed today for a private event," Niki said, pointing around the room.

Luna looked around, finally noticing the anime decorations, the snacks, and the general party vibe. "Oh, snap! I totally didn't realize I walked into a party. I am so embarrassed! My bad!"

“No worries,” Niki assured her. “It happens.”

"Alright, chat, I'm gonna sign off for now, but I'll be back on tonight for my Legend of Dragoon stream. We hit disc 3 tonight! Don't forget to like, hit that subscribe button, and ring the bell so you don't miss a thing on the channel. Thanks, fam, and I’m out Luna-tics!" She ended the stream, and her demeanor instantly changed. 

She was now more relaxed and laid back. "I'm so sorry I crashed your party, guys. I honestly had no idea the gym was closed today. I'll get out of your hair," Luna said, her voice carrying genuine regret.

Just then, Mika and King Hippo walked over. "Teka! Hey, no need to leave," Mika said, “I’m Star Mika and this is King Hippo. You're welcome to stay. We're having an anime party. It's a great way to get to know everyone. We’ll introduce you around."

Luna looked around, her eyes meeting the curious gazes in the room. "Well, when you put it that way, how can I say no?” Then, with a mischievous glint in her eyes and a light tone to her voice, she added, “Besides, it's a great chance to get to know the faces I'll be punching later."

Cutie’s eyes widened in amusement and Mika stifled a laugh. Niki chuckled, "You know what? You're gonna fit in just fine."

As Mika and Niki went to find seats, King Hippo stepped closer and extended his hand for a handshake, finally breaking his silence. "Um, hello. I'm King Hippo. Big fan of your streams. I'm actually one of your subscribers, hippoquest86."

Luna's eyes widened in delight. "Dude, no way! Hippoquest86? You’re one of my OG subscribers! It's so cool to meet you in person!"

As Luna shook King Hippo's hand, she couldn't help but think how surreal and fantastic this all was. From streaming in my room to shaking hands with a boxing legend who's also a fan. Life is strange, but also pretty amazing.

And just like that, Luna Doll felt the warmth of this eclectic, passionate community wrapping around her. It was a promising start to an interesting journey, to friendships and fights that lay ahead.
