Imagine you are Phoenix Wright, ex-art student, now fairly successful lawyer. Things are going great for you. You're happy, you have great friends and you're finally very competent at your job.
As you've grown up, you've slowly drifted apart from the childhood friend who got you your first case as an attorney because hes slowly become a worse and worse friend over the years. You don't think about it much anymore but you've changed and he hasn't so you just don't see each other much anymore.
Then, your best friend gets you to go on this dumb vacation (one that will become one of the hardest cases of your life) and suddenly your childhood friend is back for the first time in months and now he is parading around calling himself an artist. He'd never done art before, so its a weird choice of career, especially since he never seemed like the creative type. What your years as an art major has taught you is he has potential but currently sucks ass. Luckily, this isn't something you would be prone to get jealous over.
Anyway its all still annoying as fuck (because he's annoying as fuck) but then after shit goes down and you're hospitalised for a day or two (long story), the previously mentioned case begins. When you are finally well enough to try and return to the case you look back at the files of what your other childhood friend has achieved on your behalf in your absence. You find that the "artist" friend took the stand and his testimony is riddled with bullshit.
... But something about it hurts. You don't think about it much until you realise how love-struck he is, over this girl that looks so similar to your murderous ex girlfriend in college too (even longer story). And then it hits your dazed flu addled brain that of course the emotional artist, head over heals for a beautiful girl with a serene smile would hurt deeper than you could ever imagine.
That was you. Before all this.
You look at your other childhood friend's notes on the testimony. The snide remarks in the margin are warranted. Later that day the friend decides to look into the case of your ex-girlfriend. You wonder if he will look at your testimony back then and think the same as he does about the man who had tried to convince him less than 24 hours ago that flying is real. If what he reads will change his perception of you.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID THE TRUTH.
I admit that i enjoyed act 3 but it feels like really rushed i have so much complain with that.
The build up until act 2 was so good it give us so much premise but the final blow si meh. Sorry that i want to share thing long rant with you
1. Why the final talk is with yae, no offense to her but we need ei to explain not to mention she witness khaenriah downfall so she can give us more information, i feel like they do it for the plot armor so they can just keep dragging this
2. So many things that quite inconsistant, the shogun is show no mercy to anyone that even did a little thing outside what she think its right, how come she can still have a talk with signora, when sara is falling like that, and also there is no clarification about sara right now.
The traveler was so done at first they refuse to help thoma and ayaka at the beginning. But they seem so happy and forget everything how come they are not RAGE ( okay maybe this is to bias and personal) when this nation provide nothing about our siblings information and also why they are not mention anything about their problem in ei stroy quest. Its nonsense! She is right in front of youu, ask about your siblings, ask about khaenriah, ask about ukmown god!!. How come they can just forget like that. Also mihoyo really waste the potential about twin things i thing ei will give us so much help bcs of the sympathy that we both rn lost our twin but noooo.
3. Kokomi seem lost some brain cell, she make a very succesfull grand intro but she become meh in act 3, how come a great strategist like her let the sus sponsorship slip just bcs they are desperate, not to mention her screen time is really small and her role seem so unsignificant and it feels lile she is a plain npc.
4. The awesome world quest that we have done doesnt get any mention at all! Inazuma owe us so much with cleansing sakura, thunder sakura, tatarigami, obarashi quest. It has so much potential that yae or ei or anyone else aknowledge what traveler has been done but nooo.
cracks knuckles... i suppose it's time for my promised dissertation. interestingly enough, you touched on a lot of the main issues i had with chapter III.
i think that if i had to pin the main issue, it's a lack of overall cohesiveness? we were jumping all over the place without the chance to ever flesh things out. inazuma is a smaller cast, but i feel like we didn't get to see any of them shine. since i'm most interested in the genshin characters, i'll break down my problems by going over everyone and their (lack) of impact on the story.
was ayaka not questioned or placed under suspicion for being close to thoma before his escape? i wanted to see her broken up over her duties as they relate to the yashiro commission, paired with having someone she genuinely cares about in danger. it would've been an interesting struggle if she was forced to choose one or the other. instead she just kinda took a back seat.
speaking of thoma, i don't even have anything to say, because he just... was there? for .0001 seconds. said "lol this sucks ig" and that's about it. i know we're going to get a story for him in the future since he's a 5* but i'm not getting my hopes up š then in the raiden shogun's character story, man is peachy keen! be upset with the raiden shogun! have some inner conflict! even if it's just using loaded language because he's under surveillance for going against the raiden shogun, that'd be so cool. saying something like,
"Traveler, what's with that expression? Oh please, there's nothing to worry about. We're under the Statue of the Omnipresent God's protection. Nothing bad has ever happened here." *wink*
i also don't know what to say about gorou. he was... there....... i think. what is he fighting for? what are the stakes for him? what makes him place so much trust into kokomi? i'm out of things to say about him because i don't remember anything he did or said.
kokomi... oh kokomi... i was so hyped. so excited. i thought that maybe we could see a foil to the raiden shogun. that she'd have a moment where she's forced to realize, just like her opponent, sacrifices must be made that will hurt people who will never understand why she made them. or maybe something to show her military prowess. but instead she just accepts a mysterious patron's help (?), sees her people aging like the grateful dead from JJBA, and goes oh well. that sucks. what can ya do. oh bye traveler i guess, good luck with that. ????????????? HUH... similar case to thoma where she's gonna get a character story but like. she won't be the leader of the resistance anymore. that was her whole shtick. they took her shtick away. also she forced me to interact with more NPCs whose names i've already forgotten so i'm tilted about that still.
KUJOU SARA... AN INJUSTICE. A DISGRACE. a slap to my woman loving face. the build up was there. yae miko's comments about sara probably knowing the tenryou commission is involved in shady dealings, but is choosing not to think about it. sara being forced to confront reality and challenge her adopted father with the truth. being able to blaze a new path for herself in the process. when she started running to the raiden shogun i was ultra hyped up. sara, a devotee to the shogun for so long, was about to see her god interacting with the same people who led inazuma to this awful state. how would she react? would she stay ignorant, like yae miko so coyly said, choosing to look away in favor of following her god's footsteps? or would she be forced to recognize the raiden shogun isn't as divine as she once thought, and challenge her belief system?
we open the door to see the raiden shogun. the loading screen ensues. the camera pans to the ominous room, clouded in darkness, hinting at the ominous confrontation that is to come. the music takes a serious timbre. and then...
well fuck that potential character arc i guess. (we still don't know what sara made of any of this since she poofed out of existence from the story at this point)
kazuha also was handed a similar treatment. we've been with him for a while longer now. he is our introduction into inazuma, the one who first gets us emotionally involved by regaling us with the bittersweet tale of friendship that led him to becoming a wanted criminal. a kind soul who loves nature yet was dealt a cruel hand by fate, forced to watch his home nation turn into a hostile place, where his dear friend ultimately perished as a result. we get the scene with his friend's vision lighting back up. he parries a block from the raiden shogun, in the same area where his friend was killed by her. the parallels. the drama. except this time, he wasn't too late. he protected the traveler where he "failed" to protect his friend in the past. did he feel redemption at this? or was it a bittersweet reminder of what could've been?
WELL i guess we'll never know because we didn't get to talk to him again š idk who got a bait and switch worse, him or sara. jesus christ mihoyo.
then we have signora. why is the raiden shogun talking to her? does she know about the gnosis being taken, and if she doesn't, what was her plan to get it from the archon? what does she think about scaramouche? and oh, okay, we're fighting here now. good fight + god tier music. pog pog. okay, now we've beaten her up, and raiden shogun wydā wait no not signora her lore is still on CUPS not YET raiden shogun andā ah she's dead. okay. non nerds who didn't read artifact lore are going to know nothing about her. signora has such an interesting story, and yet... well. ok.
then we get raiden shogun redemption (?) arc. i was hype for this as well, though at that point, idk why i bothered being hype. i knew they were gonna do a cute power of friendship something or another, and i'm good with that, so long as it's executed well. what i was envisioning was like seven different buffs to correspond with the seven different visions, the dreams of those whose ambitions were stolen serving as the spear to penetrate the raiden shogun's heart of stone. maybe a hydro vision giving us extra healing for a time, with the voice acting over it being like,
"Even if the rest of the world forgets us, let our will carry you through this one final time. Succeed where we couldn't, Traveler."
so on and so forth.
but instead we gotā you get the idea at this point. why bother spelling it out anymore.
at that point i was surprised the raiden shogun didn't go "oopsie woopsie!! we made a fucky wucky!!!" because that was the vibe i was getting. i love ei, don't get me wrong, but i wanted to see her challenged with what she had done to inazuma in the past year. maybe meeting NPC #2345259 who lost her sister to the vision decree or something, reminding ei of the love she held for her sister... being forced to come to terms with the extent of what she's done in pursuit of eternity.
anyway. please for the love of god mihoyo hire better writers for the main story. that is all i ask. thank you.

Reki and Langaās dynamic
Itās speculation at my part and a shameless rant on what i like about sk8 just to get it off my chest Iāve been so fixated help
itās 5am Iām at uni and i have a shit ton to do, am I really gonna make an essay about sk8 instead? yes abso-fucking-lutely. strap on to your metaphorical skateboards kids. this is going to be long ride
this isnāt to call out anyone lol so in case you get that impression Iām sorry. I understand everyone is out to interpret media in whatever they like and thatās fine, but sometimes i feel like either some missed some points of the story? anyway here are my thoughts tho
alright so what i absolutely love about sk8 is how they didnāt make anyone into a genius.Genius is a mockery of the hardships everyone does to attain that level of skills. And no Langa is not a genius or a prodigy which I will explain later. Iāve seen enough shounen animes back in the day and usually itās āannoying heart of gold beginner vs. calm and collected geniusā they usually hate each otherās guts and bicker all the time though secretly, deep down care for each other but would rather die than admit it dynamic. While Iām glad weāre moving past that, I really thought Reki and Langa would be like that so....
imagine my surprise when Langa was the ābeginnerā in skating. He has the potential to be a second sasuke here lol. (blue, handsome, cool) but no he isnāt. heās an adorable idiot, an airhead, head empty only skating dude and i love it.Ā
Reki as well. He could have been the usual protagonist. (sucks at his sport, loud, hardworking, and by the power of friendship he suddenly beats everyone else which i think is pretty overused at this point, donāt you think?) some people complain how Reki despite being the MC isnāt given screentime and hasnāt won a single beef. (and sure thatās true. he should have won some and langa lose some but we only have 12 eps so lol) but heās not the usual protagonist you know? and sk8 isnāt about winning. if it was, I think they would have focused on the techniques. the hows and the what to do.
Idk if you noticed, but sports anime with winning in its goal would often explain in detail certain techniques. (see haikyuu) but shows like Free and Yuri on Ice isnāt exactly talking about how to win that seriously as Haikyuu did. Itās more focusing on the feelings and how their lives are affected with their passion for this sport. itās about the character development!!! and i think SK8 is something like that too. It explores the characterās feelings rather than sport. (like what i tell my sister, they use the sport as a character device if that makes sense?)
this was literally in the opening lol. itās really about the feelings you know?
so anyway itās been pointed out several times that Reki was already feeling insecure about his skills in skating since ep 1 way before Langa came. But he still likes to skate and despite feeling never enough, he still enjoyed it. (some also pointed out that Rekiās reason of going into a beef against Shadow has been because he insulted his way of skating not because he wanted to be the best) so the show from the get go was already hinting at his self esteem issues.
this also implies that Reki has always been feeling like this in a while, added with his tendencies to bottle things up, it makes sense that heāll blow up at some point and heāll need to release all of those feelings. (so yeah i think this is just the right amount of eps for their fall out. i see some people complaining shush. otherwise it would also feel too rushed. this is years weighing him)
and i guess itās also implied in here heās had days like these too in the past! seriously itās an ongoing problem heās been carrying. i think 3 eps is pretty good enough pace to internalize it
so point: Reki was already down way before Langa came. langa just added to that. And donāt go blaming Langa cause the boy did nothing wrong.
Consider that Langa just lost his dad (i think we need more backstory on this though. please sdsjkdksl i need little Langa and his dad interactions) he just moved countries, and the only connection to his dad (snowboarding) is gone cause it doesnāt snow in OKinawa
though one also argues that Langa hasnāt been snowboarding since his dad was gone.
so for Langa, Reki introducing skating to him was revolutionary. Youāre someone grieving over the death of what is probably the most important person in your life, the thing you love the most no longer gives you joy (as was shown in the flashbacks and basically Langa going āitās the sameā) and youāre in a new country with a language you barely are fluent. you canāt even read or write, and you barely have friends granted you donāt have much back in the day. itās horrible.
and then this guy you barely know talks to you, befriends you, helps you get a job, and teaches you something you thought youāve lost and through that you made more friends??
yeah you see why Langa likes Reki. You also see why heās obsessed with skating. Itās kind of like a coping, a fixation. plus heās bad with social cues i guess? the interview says heās likely to get dumped for being too inattentive lmao and thatās what makes him interesting!
also the thing that really surprised me when they first interacted was how supportive Reki is to Langa. it also got to me with how much Langa thinks highly of Reki. Again a deviation to the āi say i hate you but deep down i care for youā trope. theyāre full on supportive and protective. i like that. itās fresh to me. I thought Reki was going to the tsundere āhmph thatās not a big dealā route at the start of ep 2 but heās really amazed. (kinda also says heās been very desperate for someone to share skating with but thatās another topic)
so Reki teaches Langa how to skate. and Langa sucks. Which was interesting to me because I thought Langa would be some flawless prince-like character. But nah. He trips and faints at his own blood lol. Heās so uncool and i love it.
Some people say Langa is over powered with a thick ass plot armor which gets him to win (which is why i see people saying he should have won against Joe and I actually agree that Langa should lose some beefs but again only 12 eps, so little time)
but I still wanna talk about it anyway so itās revealed Langa was snowboarding since 2. Thatās 15 years. I think that should be around the same time Joe and Cherry should be skating. and i think if you start earlier as a kid, your body develops differently. (should Langa, āan amateurā win against Joe a pro? the question falls more on whether you can classify Langa as an amateur) i think itās like Langa being very used to motorcycle tricks from age 2 then suddenly heās using a regular bicycle, and sure the feeling is mostly the same but thereās just something off. Your body doesnāt easily forget what you know, especially if it did it for 15 years. and so Reki customizes a board for Langa so itāll feel exactly like snowboarding
So Langa has a customized board that he needed to get used to before he went pro. He really sucked the first few eps lmao. but thatās more of him getting used to the new rules. he pretty much told Reki in ep 2 that he canāt do a skateboard ollie, but he can do a snowboard one bec itās attached to his feet.
(i may just want to add that one thing i also like about sk8 is that it really doesnāt care what you need for accommodation? if thatās how you do it best, then go for it. When Langa says to Reki he canāt do the ollie without the board attached to his feet, Reki immediately goes his way to accommodate him. usually people in real life might say āitās not real skateboarding if you need a modification etc. but look at Cherry with a freaking AI board and people are like yeah whatever do what you want man. whatever rolls your board.)
so anyway Langa vs. Joe with Langa winning despite being an amateur? if you can even call him an amateur that is. Plus all his tricks are snowboarding tricks lol. everything heās done is testament to his 15 years of snowboarding?? We donāt even know how good Langa is in snowboarding. Someone make a post about how difficult the snowboarding equivalent of those tricks Langa has done just to show people it means heās pretty pro (Iāll even argue maybe Langaās real talent is his creative ways of going around things which kind of why Adam is highkey obsessed, and calls Cherry who calculates everything to the last second boring but thatās a different can of worms Iām opening later) plus Langa barely won against Joe so thereās not much difference in level i think. Should Langa have lost though?
I think some have missed the point of that beef in Rekiās pov. and if the Renga reconciliation is done well, it would be worth it.
that beef got Reki to realize he what he really wants! that itāll kill him if he canāt skate anymore! that he doesnāt wanna only cheer on for others and be a support! THAT HE WANTS TO SKATE BY LANGAāS SIDE WHICH IS THE REASON FOR ALL THIS INSECURITIES if Langa lost, that cathartic realization might not have happened. He might have gone to Langa and cheered him up, brushed off his insecurities and, made up with Langa halfheartedly without addressing his problems
Iām going to go back to Rekiās insecurities. In ep 6 heās been afraid of being left behind, and sure Langa came back for him but he still forgot until midway. (will that parallel how Langa got too excited with the idea of skating, the same feeling he thought he lost forever. The same thing that he thinks connects him with his dad, and might have left Reki behind, but later remembers and goes back to chase him? hopefully) in ep 4 itās obvious heās afraid of the near death experience Adam gave him, and heās just realized how different their skills were. in ep 5 he worries about Langa, enough to get nightmares about it. mixed with his friend getting hurt. itās obvious the feelings are very very muddled there.
So he begs Langa not to skate with Adam.
And what did Langa do? say that he wanted to skate with Adam. (again heās not the most attentive. he probably thinks heās just skating with his best friend, all is good then boom. Reki leaves. as a person shit with dealing with other people, i donāt blame him at all) heās trying to fix it though, but his bond with Reki primarily revolves around skating! how else was he going to warm up with Reki? He also doesnāt know that Reki has self esteem issues thatās always been there since the beginning. He probably doesnāt understand it too because he holds Reki up highly. in ep 6 when Reki was going over his board, Langa thinks heās pretty cool. he didnāt hear what other said to Reki. Heās earnestly having fun with his friend
We should also note that Reki was never angry at Langaās skills, he wasnāt resentful that Langa was far ahead. Again heās been nothing but supportive. He doesnāt want to pull Langa down. He wasnāt like Miyaās friends that lashed out at Miya for being better. in ep 7 he tries his best to follow Langa
it feels like heās mostly regretful that he canāt catch up. he doesnāt want Langa to slow down, he wants to go faster and meet him where he was. So it makes the realization that all he wants to do was be in equal with Langa more frustrating because he thinks he canāt keep up. (and this only ever started when he heard heās like Langaās plus one. thereās that daunting feeling about being pulled around. not being his equal)Ā
if you need further proof, when Langa and Joe were having a beef, he wasnāt aggressively hoping Langa would lose. in fact he encouraged him. He worries deeply He calls him out when he was doing badly. Still very supportive as ever. So really the frustration isnāt to Langa, again, itās all internal. He wants to be better
so heās feeling shit and Langa goes to him in the middle of the rain, bless langa for trying, thinking talking about skating (what he thinks Reki loves and would probably cheer him up, not knowing thatās exactly his problem) tells him
which is probably the worst he could say.
THATāS what got Reki mad, not really Reki being insecure though thatās part of it, thatās what theyāre fighting about, Reki is angry heās breaking his promise. He thinks Langa doesnāt care about Reki, that heāll easily break a promise between them that Reki obviously cares about just so he can go skate with Adam who is way better than him. It blows to the self esteem. Reki probably also think that if only he was better, langa wouldnāt bother skating with someone that dangerous. it doesnāt help at all.
but langa doesnāt know this. he doesnāt see all this. Langa might have been too up the high of skating like in ep 6, he sorta left Reki behind again.
it kinda makes Langaās momās words hit harder though
and he did just that. he got too engrossed.
It parallels adam, cherry and joeās friendship then probably tadahsiās too but who knows? reki and langa, and tadashi and adam might parallel too, the master and the student thingy Adam might have gotten too obsessed. So Joe trying his best to make sure Reki and Langa wonāt end up like them hits a little harder in my chest ;ā)
but Langa wonāt be to engrossed i think
because unlike Adam whoās aggressively looking for his āequalā, Langa is just looking for someone who makes his heart beat, to make him feel like heās skating with his dad again, someone he loves dearly. (thereās a parallel about loves here too between Adamās and Langaās. but I canāt write it now) and he probably already thinks Reki is his equal anyway. He just wants to have fun. he doesnāt think much about the skills.
maybe at first he does. thatās why heās drawn to Adam but from ep 9, it was pretty much shown that skills really doesnāt matter from when he skated against Joe
if Adam easily discarded his friends because he think theyāre boring (which was why the whole skateboard to the face thing with Cherry), langa doesnāt think like that
if anything Reki is important to Langa because he only has fun skating with Reki, who taught him how to skate and made his board. (his board that was customized to fit his style btw, and arguably the only reason he could skate that well. without it, he might as well be a beginner once again.) so without reki, langa is left with nothing. especially with his broken board
no fun in skating, no way of skating. Heās only manage to get this far because of Reki and he knows that now. All of it would be pointless if he doesnāt have Reki (and either he gets so obsessed in chasing that feeling again, or he stops completely) but in case you havenāt noticed it, Langaās motivation revolves around having fun with skating no matter the skill or place. And heās having most fun with Reki.
But Reki obviously doesn't know Langaās feelings. He thinks Langa was forever looking for someone better. So heās still caught up in the idea that Langa wonāt want to skate with him (even though Langa has never shown this) and he left S entirely, thinking what he wants is impossible. fucking just talk you two motherfucker
(I also wanna point out that Reki has always been shown from episode one to be good at making boards. And thatās amazing? We need some support recognition and appreciation, seriously) I think maybe most who find problem with Reki not winning beefs like the usual shounen protags arenāt used to the nuance and perspective of being someone āordinaryā. Rekiās character is relatable because most of us feel ordinary, never enough, surrounded by geniuses, āinferiorā. And if weāre being realistic since a lot are saying joe should have won because langa winning is unrealistic and you want realism so bad no Iām not salty at all there will always be someone better than you. ALWAYS. but whatās important is for you to have fun in what you love! in what makes you happy! AND even if youāre not good at one thing (in Rekiās part, skating) heās also good at other things (making boards) so does he need to stop one for the other? no. Heās shown to enjoy skating with Langa, he doesnāt wanna stop it hurts him so much he quit. But he can also hone his skills in making boards as well as skate. Heās equal with Langa in a way he doesnāt even notice when he made that board for Langa, but even Rekiās presence alone makes Langa enjoy skating the way Reki also wants Langa by his side.
So I think the next ep is the best time to confront all these feelings. And how it happens might be whatās tricky. Like romantic or not, i personally can read it both ways though i prefer if they do become canon. (idk if itās queerbaiting. i guess friends can care as deeply as that but ngl, these shounen bestfriends having deep connections that are written off as friends while also giving us bland af hetero love interests who did nothing but exist and be straight really is messing with my perception of romantic and platonic love irl) anyway their talk better be done really well, or else all those episodes of tension would be for nothing
Itās a nice perspective to give a shounen protagonist this time. Itās new, itās fresh. How many incarnations of underdog turned the best at their craft can you take? variety is nice! and if you donāt like it, there are always a dozen other animes like that for you to turn to. to conclude, IT ALL GOES BACK TO THE START: WHAT IS YOUR HAPPINESS???! AND FOR THEM ITāS THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP BUT IN A VERY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. FRIENDSHIP DOESNāT Ā SUDDENLY GET YOU TO LEVEL 100000000000 TO DEFEAT THE FINAL BOSS. FRIENDSHIP IS WHAT MAKES DEFEATING THE FINAL BOSS WORTHWHILE
Anyway tldr; maybe the real Eve is the friends we made along the way :DĀ and idk if Iām making sense but obviously Iām head empty only sk8. Renga needs to talk, i canāt believe they have the audacity to make a recap episode as if i wasnāt head empty only sk8 since february, and if thereās more emotional edging to come, i will burn some of the palm trees outside my house
#sk8 the infinity#sk8 anime#sk8 infinity#sk8 the infinity meta#sk8 meta#reki kyan#langa hasegawa#sk8 reki#sk8 langa#renga#reki x langa#just my thoughts#it's a long ass essay who am i kidding#i have 99 problems and renga is half of them#I'd like more characterizations though but it's like adam's story is the main focus of this thing#how fucked can you get that 3 people has issues with you directly?#3 indirectly?#while shadow is just there vibing#lmaoo#anyway long ass rant#this meta is for me anyway for when i start writing fics for this fandom#you're all just welcome to read it if you want#sk8 joe#Sk8 cherry#sk8 adam#kaoru sakurayashiki#kojiro nanjo#shindo ainosuke#tadashi kikuchi

Thanks for rebloging my Post about The Ring and how we need flashbacks of it. I'm gonna keep ranting about it to you because I want to. I want to see EXACTLY WHY Emori and Murphy broke up too??? Because we never got that and it makes me so upset. But at least this way I can headcanon that it wasn't mostly Murphy's fault and I bet the show would have made it his fault if they showed us it. I really want to see more of Murphy's time alone, because it would have been an interesting parallel to 1/?
His time alone in The Lighthouse bunker! They could have done so much with The Ring, like showing us MURPHYS COMA!!! (Which I know the post you reblogged already talked About that but oh well) and showing us how Monty perfected his algae. And shoe us hoe Emori learned SO MUCH in FIVE FUCKING YEARS. (Was it 5 or 6? I don't remember whoops). I'm just so upset. THERE WAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
Sorry for going off here, the last message should have said 2/? On it. also?? We got to see how Finn got arrested but we didnt get to see what Murohy did. Yes we heard it from people but i WANT TO SEE IT. I want to SEE him do it not just hear some second hand accounts. I want RECEIPTS. I want to see my baby be pissednoff AND DESTRUCTIVE... WHY COULDNT I GET THAT 3/3 (maybe idk maybe I'll think of more to rant about lol)
ā¢ā¢ā¢
Keep ranting Ry! Everything youāre saying, I completely agree!!! They need flashbacks! They need to show us important things! Like ffs they spent 6 years on the ring and theyāre just going to talk about it? Like come on! First of all most of them are like what? 23 or 24 after the ring? Thatās literally a quarter of their lives and WE DONT GET TO SEE ANYTHING IMPORTANT! AND YES THE FUCKING BUNKER! Like let me watch Murphy go crazy! Let me see MORE MURPHY!
And yes! Itās not just Murphy! Let me see Emori struggling to understand Raven teaching her! Let me see Emori getting worked up one day and arguing with Murphy because heās making stupid remarks!
THERE WAS SO MANY THINGS WE COULDāVE SEEN AND YET THEY JUST TALKED ABOUT IT!

The 100 6x12 Thoughts
So, Abby. *cringe*
Do I appreciate that the character from season 1, 2, 3 got to make some semblance of peace with her daughter and newish daughterish person before her death? Yes.
Am I glad the dumpster fire of a character from seasons 4, 5 and 6 thus far is finally not causing eye -rolling drama? Yes.
Do I agree with their choice to have Raven forgive Abby when all she did was say some nice stuff and a few emotional sorries? No. I think if Raven was gonna forgive Abby, Abby should have had to earn her "redemption" just like everyone else, even though the only real slow forgiveness we've ever seen on this show is Octavia to Bellamy and that's it's own dumpster fire in and of itself.
Do I think Abby's whole relationship with Clarke and Raven is a whole special kind of fucked up? M'yes.
Do I agree with any of her choices throughout the show? Honestly, I can't recall any other than opening the bunker and that's simply because a) skaikru, float yourselves and b) Although it went horribly wrong and for survival's sake and, honestly, everyone's sanity, it would've been better to just keep the bunker for Skaikru, but Octavia, Kane, Monty, Indra, etc DESERVED to be in the bunker at the time.
Do I think Abby was a bad CHARACTER? No. I think for the kind of show this is, where sometimes these characters make decisions based on experiences that we never saw, and therefore we feel like they come out of left field, she was good. This show doesn't allow for a lot of emotional chats or the characters dealing with a ton of fallout, unless that's the entire next season plot (looking at you, S4, ish). I think her evolution, although uncomfortable and morally wrong, was a somewhat solid evolution. She was a mom, trying to save an entire people, and making morally awful choices because she felt like those were the only choices. As the show goes. And she kept trying to "do better" and failing either because of the impossible choices or because the above mentioned off-screen developments. As the show goes. And, like Jasper, she let it consume her. She got a somewhat happier ending than Jasper, if you consider murder and body snatching happier than suicide-by-praimfaya.
Regardless, scene made me uncomfortable, mostly because it felt forced from a writing stand point. And I'm glad the Abby drama is gone, but I'm sad for the character she was before the Nightblood serum and pills.
Paige Turco, Eliza Taylor, and Lindsey Morgan were brilliant.
Bellarke/Becho
M'kay, so I'm gonna say this right off; I am a Bellarke shipper. Like damn, look at them. Look at those shots. Look at those camera zooms. BUT, this is not a gush about Bellarke.
I do not think that Bellamy-looking-at-Clarke-while-he-hugs-Echo-and-Clarke-looks-at-him means what you think it means. Yes, he's done it a few times before, but I don't think those times are all they're cracked up to be either.
Don't get me wrong, I am HERE for the parallels, and this is really the first time I felt like it's been a SUPER good thing rather than some resentment or annoyance on Bellamy's part. So yay, Bellarke! But really, I think they were just happy to see each other alive. Bellamy only looked at Clarke after she said something, and the way it was cut together, it's almost like she said it AS they were going in for a hug. So, like, she was saying it AND they went in for a hug. And as we saw, Clarke and Echo are cool (which btw, I didn't know I wanted it, but I doooooo) so I don't think she would intentionally cut in on them. And she knows how committed and loyal Bellamy is and she admires that about him, so I don't think she would be messing with that, especially when they've got shit to do.
Also, my legs quiver heart stutters at the trope of Bellamy and Clarke having feelings for each other so he watches her over people's shoulders as he hugs them, and vice versa (see "awkward hugging/patting Madi as she sees Becho jog to each other"). But, unfortunately, I...really...š don't think any of the times he's done it are because *feelings*. Like, MAYBE, this time...but only because my heart yearns for it. Not because I think it's real. And her face, although not as happy as it could be, DOES look happy to me. Her lips are upturned. A little, not a lot, hence why my 'MAYBE' is in caps, but she does look happy. He's alive, he's there with the calvary. Her 'heart' is back. And that shit's cannon so fight me š§āāļø
Also, can I just say. I do not want Echo's (is it respectful or disrespectful to put '/Ash'? Genuinely asking....*cough* for a friend) character or Tasya Teles to be done any kind of disservice however this shakes out. The Echo we're seeing now lends to the full potential of the character she may have been and could be in the future. She respects strong, go for the throat and deal with the repercussions later at the benefit of your people above everything else. š That's who Clarke IS. The ONLY difference is Clarke was leading and Echo was never on the same side. Can you IMAGINE if Clarke had (somehow in fanfic-land) been the Queen of Azgeda? Or Echo had been, like, a Trikru friend of the Delinquents? Echo would have burned the world at Clarke's mere turn of a brow if it meant protecting their people. And I'm not saying this to bash Echo or make Clarke seem like an amazing leader. I'm just talking fanfic-land. But *shivers* Bellamy who? Anyway, just saying, I feel like if Clarke and Echo, and the rest of the delinquents ever get in sync, they could rule the world.
So, yeah. That's my one rant I think I've ever made about The 100.
