As someone who works in the animation industry...I have complicated feelings when I see people comment on queer TV episodes made by big media entities saying "well nothing they made was ever going to be sincere or mean it because they're [big media entity]. This is why we should support indie artists instead."

Yes, to a certain degree, it is true that these big corporations love to take the credit for being "brave" and talking about human rights. And of course indie artists need to be supported. But the problem I have with these statements is thag it seems to dismiss all of the actual individual people involved in the process of making these shows. There are very few animators who are able to make a living in indie. It's only recently that this has started to become a more viable source of income, and even then it isn't a reliable one. Most animators need to work for these corporations to survive and afford to live. We have rent to pay, mortgages, families, pets. Disney or whoever isn't this shadow entity that came up with the plot of a show. It's the show runners and the artists who happened to have their show picked up by Disney. It's the writers who sat in the writing room, probably either being trans or knowing someone in their life who is trans. It's the storyboard artists and designers who all got together and decided to include these things. It's the director who approved it and decided this was something worth fighting for. And the animators who lovingly brought it all to life. There is a crew of a hundred people that came together and wanted to make something with love. And maybe one or 2 people who ultimately made the call to not release it. So it isn't just a matter of "well whatever, don't be too upset because it's not like they'd ever mean anything by it." I DO feel upset because there were many queer people who I will have the privilege to work with in my life time who have had their work completely canceled and told that No, the world isn't ready for you yet. Go back in the closet. These shows are made by human beings, and I think that shouldn't be forgotten.

The main character I love she gives me autistic vibes I’m autistic. The show has interesting characters, action ,great music, and animation ,good themes and representation, Anime references, plenty of Sailor Moon references too it even has an eyecatch season 2 is going to be more story driven if you find that interesting. It also shares the same animation studio as rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

It be good if you also watch the season 2 episodes when they air so the ratings will be higher. 

I think Disney might be trying to sabotage the show with them dropping 14 episodes on Disney +  Feb 3 which has passed.and it’s only half of season 2. We have a week or two to binge it.They did similar with season 1 and the ratings where low ,please watch season 2 episodes when they air on. But more importantly also watch it on Disney + in feb and when they air it on YouTube. Unfortunately they dropped 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in a day if you can but also when they air the first time if you have cable.

Hey there, you aren't being a bother. Sorry it's taking me some time to answer this.

I have heard of the show, but haven't watched it myself. It has been recommended to me by my sister, who is a very good judge of things I would enjoy.

There's not really anyone outside of my family that I know who would watch it, or they already are watching it/have seen it. So there aren't a lot of people I can suggest it to watch.

I'm not really watching anything new at the moment because I'm trying to work on things I've already been putting off in books and games right now.

Oh yes! I've heard really good things about this show when it first started airing!

Although I remembering having trouble finding a way to watch it since it did not locally stream on Disney+ but I will give it another try since it genuinely seems charming and well animated. Perhaps my followers will help pass the word along as well! Best of luck, dear!

I love to draw, sing, and dance. My drawings are kinda 2 sided, I love drawing cutesy things that appeal to my more innocent/agere side, but I also love drawing spooky, creepy stuff that appeals to my dark/spooky-loving side. My favorite singers are Annapanstu, Caleb Hyles, Lydia The Bard, and Taylor Swift. (sorry if I spelled any of those wrong.)

I'm into more things than just Bluey and Resident Evil. I really like The Sims 3 & 4, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, My Little Pony, FNAF, Paw Patrol, 101 Dalmatian Street, Helluva Boss, Disney stuff, Two Sentence Horror Stories, Justice League Action, Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated, The Good Place, Batman The Animated Series, Octonauts, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Poppy Playtime (especially the Smiling Critters), Justice League Unlimited, and Sonic Prime. My all-time favorite movie is Resident Evil: Retribution. My favorite actor is Milla Jovovich (sorry if I spelled it wrong).

I also like just about everything the stereotypical girl likes: makeup designs, decorating, stickers, dresses, feminine hair styles, boys. But I'm a guy -ish (agender)

I love anything horror: horror games, horror movies/shows, horror stories/creepypastas, etc. I also love Sci-fi and fantasy, and I love sitcoms (I love the drama).

I've been watching Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and I simply must gush

I keep thinking about how the very first episode, Moon Girl Landing, is a better Phantom Planet in every conceivable way. Spoilers down below.

Lunella has to give up because her and Devil's first fight against a REAL supervillain goes terribly, shooting Lunella's confidence in being a hero down. (Not to knock Danny's situation; he was cornered. That was like one of the few OK parts of Planet)

The aftermath of which is actually the dismal low-point of the plot that it should be. Without Moon Girl, Lower East Side is very clearly in bad shape. It's genuinely heartbreaking to see it in contrast to how thriving it was back in the intro. This is the exact scenario that Sam tries to describe, but we don't get in Planet beyond "total background character hands Plasmius's industry plants a wad of cash"

Finally, the climax... I cannot understate how much this part SLAPS and RULES! The thrilling rematch against Aftershock where Devil comes back because "this town is worth fighting for", the music that plays (an extended version of the theme song 'Moon Girl Magic') is such an awesome track, and then with the help of the entire community, they stop Aftershock for good! This show is as much about the people in Lower East Side as it is about our main hero duo, and this part really shows it.

I like Danny's rogues gallery; I'm a total sucker for ghossts and such, but I'm sorry, any reason they have to help is as strong as a wet paper bag. The argument that the Ghosst Zone perishes with Earth comes from one thing Tucker said in Living Large, and that's it. Not only that, but most of the ghossts could (and otherwise would) just kill Danny and do the Phantom Planet without him.

Ok, long post complete. I'm not entirely sure on how I wrote this, but I got my point across. Seriously, I just love Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. I need to talk about it lots...

Hello! Thank you for the ask. I had been planning on watching Moon Girl for a while due to how amazing the clips of it I saw were but unfortunately due to current events I will not be watching it. Due to Israel’s current genocide against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, me and many other people are participating in the BDS movement. A boycott campaign in order to divest funds from Israel. Here’s a link to it.

As people found out more about this many of us, including myself, have canceled our Disney + subscriptions as solidarity to this movement and because Disney is listed as a pressure target. Now recently they have also announced to FULLY boycott any marvel products because currently in the new Captain America 4 movie there is a character named Sabra who is an IDF soldier/terrorist and is essentially a PR Zionist “hero” for Israel. Because of this people have been telling Marvel to take her out COMPLETELY from the movie but they have currently not budged. So BDS has since called to boycott ALL things Marvel until this character is taken out. And that includes comics, movies, merchandise, and of course TV shows. Which means most likely Moon Girl is a part of the boycott list especially considering her show is on Disney + too. So the only way I would be watching this show would be through pirating. After this post I will not be promoting any Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur or any Marvel Content until Marvel removes the character Sabra from Captain America 4. I’m sorry if this isn’t the response you were hoping for but I hope this may lead you to joining this boycott as well and maybe even incline you to start educating yourself more on the genocide that is taking place right now as well as helping in ending Israeli occupation of Palestine.

If you are in the US like me you can actually download the 5 calls app in order to call our congress people and government to call for a permanent ceasefire and to not use our tax money to keep funding this white supremacist settler colony into existence. It even gives you a script on exactly what to say when you call.

Unfortunately, while I've certainly heard good things about Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur it's not really my type of show. I've never really been particularly enamored with superheroes. [She says, despite having grown up watching Danny Phantom and whose fandom prior to TOH was frigging Darkwing Duck.]

That being said, it pleases me to hear that the protagonist of Moon Girl gives off autistic vibes. Goodness only knows that we need more representation that isn't stereotypical or worse, outright inaccurate or offensive! However, it wouldn't surprise me if Disney is sabotaging the show, at least to some degree. Especially given that one of the claims made about why TOH was cut short was because Disney wanted to dump all of their story-driven shows onto Disney+. Such behavior is not uncommon for family-friendly media, sadly. I've watched it happen to countless shows, every network now having their own streaming service has certainly seemed to make it worse though.

While I doubt that I'll watch it, I'm more than happy to spread your words of support for Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur around.

I don't care about a... satanic dinosaur or a space girl and if they give support to that... thing... it just seems normal to me like the Star vs the Forces of Evil series , that's what I see in that, I mean that it doesn't interest me or attract my attention, from here I see it very... normal with random things... I have seen bits and pieces, and to be honest what I have seen I didn't like. It's not bad, just not my tastes. I personally don't like the animation, but as for the content I can't say, I haven't seen enough. Disney and pretty much every platform nowadays doesn't advertise their media at all and then is surprised when it flops. Thanks for being this to my attention. Yes I have seen the show first seasons and I love it too! As a Marvel fan this shows is great. I love the stories of friendship, being a hero, and to never face things alone!

I’m really excited for season 2 which yes I have heard the news on Twitter that Disney plus is putting 14 episodes in Feduray. At first I was excited but then realized that this will negatively impact the show. I always feel that Disney is putting a burden in us fans to watch Israel favorite shows be making sure the view counts are up. But Bill who created The Ghost and Molly McGee (If you haven’t seen the show please go watch it. It’s just as great!) says that watching a show should be fun and not a burden. It’s sad that Disney doesn’t have a clear or fair plan to make sure of the shows success and the marketing for sed shows is not great. The 14 episodes all at once seems really extreme and honestly take away the fun of waiting. When you have 14 episodes to binge you basically have just watch half the season and it takes away the fun of waiting for a new episode each week. Yes I’ll have fun watching them but I fear me and so many fans may get MGADD fatigue.

Yes I’ll be happy o watch the 14 episodes to help and support the amazing people and crew because they deserve it and yes I’ll spread the word as well in Trumblr and Twitter when I find the time (Probably this week). I unfortunately due to my current life am not sure I cant watch all 14 episodes in one day. But I plan to at least watch all them either in 2 days or on the week of launch.

I’m honestly scared of the future of Disney animation. These shows are not getting treated the way they desvenes and not given a chance because of Disney’s poor market and strategies. Now I don’t want to point the finger and say their sabotaging shows like Moon Girl but it sure does seem like it.

At the end of the day the sad truth is Disney’s choices may be based off money. I have to be honest, as much as I love to do what it takes to support the shows I love, it’s shouldn’t feel like a burden or a chore. I want to support the creators of my favorite shows on Disney the right way. Disney should leave us to market the show, they shouldn’t leave us to takes a lot of time out of our days to binge a show.

As much as I love to tell my friends and family to watch the show, I feel like Disney saying, “Hey kid in college, wanna market our show?”

And I say, “We’ll…yes but your not going to put all that on me right and many of fans right?”.

“Right?”

It just sad. I want to go back tot he times where we can just have fun watching our favorite shows. We don’t need to worry about view counts, times watched, and etc. We just get to have you know fun. That what entertainment is after all, to have fun.

That being said I’ll watch the episodes when they come out, I’ll promote the show and support in any way I can! I love this show as much as I love Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House and the Ghost and Molly McGee and I hate for this amazing show to be cut short too. I’m just going to say, “I’m going to support this show but I’m going to have fun while doing it!”. I’ll make my friends rewatch the show with me, tell others agouti the show! Do watch parties! These are ways to have fun and support the show!

And if we unite as fans together we can tell Disney to reconsider there strategies and give these shows they may think will not give them money like Marvel a chance. These shows where made with love from very talented people, they just end up in the wrong company.

Hey! I actually watched all of the first and second season with my mom! It was amazing and I do recommend watching it. However, the thing hurting this show most is the strikes on Disney currently due to them supporting Isreal.

So watch the show yes, but! If possible do that by "sailing the high seas"

If your not interested it’s fine but Have you heard of or watched moon girl and devil dinosaur? Season 2 premier happened

The main character i love she gives me autistic vibes I’m autistic. The show has interesting characters, action ,great music, and animation ,good themes and representation, Anime references, plenty of Sailor Moon references too it even has an eyecatch season 2 is going to be more story driven if you find that interesting. It also shares the same animation studio as rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

It be good if you watch the season 2 episodes when they air so the ratings will be higher. 

I think Disney might be trying to sabotage the show with them probably dropping 14 episodes on Disney + on February 3 which has passed. They did similar with season 1 and the ratings where low ,please watch season 2 episodes when they air on. But more importantly also watch it on Disney + in February and when they air it on YouTube. Unfortunately they are dropping 14 episodes on Disney + so watch them all in one day but also when they air the first time.

Yes, I have heard of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur! I've heard amazing things about it, too! Unfortunately, I don't have Disney+ and don't really have the budget to pick up another streaming service, but I'll see what I can do. It looks like they have some episodes uploaded to YouTube (as you said), and maybe I can catch it on Disney Channel when I come home for the weekends.

You bet I'll spread the word, too. As an avid ROTTMNT fan and casual Inside Job enjoyer, I know the pain of a high-potential show being snubbed by executives. I may only be one person, but I'll do my part in making sure Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur doesn't meet as miserable of a fate. Plus, it looks like a show that will appeal to a lot of my friends (and my army of cousins).

I’ve seen things around for it, but I haven’t watched it myself yet, I’ve been wanting to for a while, it looks so fun!!!

I’ll definitely watch it when I get the chance to, which (by how things are going for me) might be today :DDD
