Parties were never your thing. Not really. But, having a frat boy as your boyfriend changed that. A little. Kyle would happily take an evening binge watching something like Supernatural with you in your dorm over a party.

"Okay, are you sure? Cause, we can leave right now and go to make those gingerbread cookies you've been talking about recently?" Kyle asked quietly, as the both of you stood outside the frat house. The bass pounding itself already into your heart despite not even being close to the doorway yet.

A small smile graced your face, and nodding, you took Kyle's hands. "I'm 100% sure. I want to do something that makes you happy too darling. And this party is one of them." The both of you headed inside where LEDs blinded you for a few moments. The seizure inducing flashes of colour burning into your retinas. Fuck it, you'll get used to it over the night. Kyle held you close, hand tight on the small of your back as he led you through the house to a crowded kitchen.

A drink in your hand, the other resting on Kyle's hand that had snaked around your front. He had a drink himself in his free hand. "Okay, we got drinks...where to sweetheart?"

"...Let's find a crowd to slip into." Kyle nodded once you suggested some mingling. The blonde lead you into a crowd of his frat friends, each guy seeming bigger and beefier than the last. So intimidating. However, Kyle was stuck by you. His hand was comfortably around your front as he kept you against his back, conversations waving past your ears from time to time. But you still managed to get a word in, happily talking to the frat boys about whatever show you were watching, that wasn't Supernatural.

Kyle occasionally pressed a kiss to your cheek, and smiled against your skin. Seeing you get on with others, and in general have fun made him happy. "You having fun then?" He asked with a chuckle, putting a few more kisses to your cheek.

Your reply was a quick nod as you turned your head slightly. "Definitely."

The evening continued on with Kyle never leaving your side. Music never stopped in your ears, and your eyes did get used to the occasional flashing LEDs. Eventually. Your drink had been discarded, mainly because use you were finished, and happily wrapped your arms around Kyle's shoulders. He kept an arm firmly around your back, determined to never let you out of your sight. His eyes never left you as he watched you dance. A small smile still playing on your lips that never left.

God. You were the prettiest person he'd ever seen. No one could take that from him.

"You're truly... beautiful.." Kyle whispered, taking a moment to find the right word.

While you were used to his compliments, it didn't stop your cheeks feeling warm under the lights and the smile on your face widening a little. Of course, you didn't fully accept the compliment. He was too pretty in his own right. "Says you, pretty boy."

"Says me?" He gasped slightly, immediately grinning.

"Yeah, says you!"

Kyle's next response was just a kiss. Bringing you flush against him as your hand found his hair, playing with some strands when the kiss continued. "You're so sweet." He complimented quietly, gazing into your eyes like the lovesick golden retriever he was.

"nuh uh.."

"...yuh huh!" He nodded eagerly, chuckling as he retorted your denial.

The both of you ended up in a small fit of giggles in the corner of the living room, happily ignoring the others at the party. Too perfect. You stayed in that corner for the rest of the night, watching everyone else party contentedly. It was perfect. "I'm glad you convinced me to come."

Kyle looked over to you, his arm now around your shoulders. "Yeah? Aw, I'm glad. Can I convince you to come to another then soon?"

It seemed to be warn, loved through time and cared for through the ages

When you told him the story of the cute thing, Macaque was impressed

Keeping something like that for years surely wasn't as easy as it seemed, and finding comfort in something so simple wasn't expected by the shadow demon

Yet, it fit you just wonderfully, how you had an eternal friend watching over you that helped you through rough patches in life

He offers to wash the plush carefully, even to replace the stuffing if you'd like (like those stuffed toy hospitals)

He's always gentle around your plush if you let him hold it

“Alright love, I will see you later.” You can hear the grin in his voice, laced with mischief and a little laughter. You turn to see him walk away and question his tone only for him to run up to you, steal a quick kiss, and run away. 

“I- Oh you little” A smile graces your lips as you run after him through the halls.

“Garrick! Get back here!” Irritation starts to melt away and giddiness replaces it. You know you won’t catch him but there's hope in your mind to catch up and get him back. As you round the corner he jumps out and grabs you laughing and you punch his arm.

and when they were far enough that gunshots sounded so far away, reader took off their helmet and leaned back against Gaz with a deep sigh.

Gaz didn't miss how they would rub the back of their head against his chest, or how they would turn their head to the side and try to bury their face between his pecs, even though it was practically impossible in the tiny space the car had.

Here’s a little snippet from a oneshot I’m cooking up about Wilbur Cross’ shitty diner, focused on Brenda working there as she copes with the changes in her life after graduating high school.

Summary: While most of her friends have moved on to bigger and better things, Brenda’s stuck in Hatchetfield working at Uncle Wiley’s Downtown Diner. She feels lost and left behind, but she finds a certain solace in her daily routine at work, and a certain sense of belonging at this weird, cursed place, even if she can’t shake the feeling that something is deeply wrong with it.

The interior of Uncle Wiley’s Downtown Diner looks so identical to that of a Denny’s that Brenda always half-expects to see a cease and desist letter from them when she checks the mail. The pies here are so stale that the one time Brenda sampled one, her mouth was bone-dry no matter how much water she drank and tasted of sawdust for a week straight. The coffee she has no choice but to chug to stay awake for her five a.m. opening shifts or late-night closing shifts (which are often placed so close together that it’s just plain cruel) is always lukewarm, bordering on cold, even when it’s just been brewed. She’s tried fiddling around with the coffee machines to see if it’s some problem with them. She’s tried convincing her creepy, cheapass boss to buy new equipment, which he refused. She can’t blame him. Without fail, their handful of loyal regulars come flocking back to this place no matter how bad the food and drinks are. As they say, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Whatever he’s doing is working. Somehow.

She wipes her hands on her apron, the only part of her uniform that isn’t made of stiff, starchy denim. The skirt, button-up shirt and jacket that she’s required to wear here are all the same dark blue wash. When she started here, she even ordered some denim bows and scrunchies online, figuring that if she was going to wear triple denim she might as well go all-in. It’s disgusting—double denim is already a disgrace—but she makes it look cute, if the generous tips she regularly receives are any indication. She might be stuck in her dumb hometown while her best friend lives it up at one of the most prestigious colleges in the country in one of the most exciting cities in the world, but at least she has that going for her.

Although, can Stacy even be considered her best friend anymore? With each passing week, the length of time between their text messages has gotten longer. At some point, Stacy stopped initiating them and then it was always on Brenda. Now, she’s lucky to get an Oh, sorry, I’ve been meaning to reply to this I’ve just been so busy!!! Miss u three days after she sends one. Stacy should actually be on winter break now, but if she’s in town, she hasn’t bothered to reach out and make any plans. She knows Brenda works here, she could at least stop in and say hi.

She knows the resentment isn’t completely fair. It’s normal for friends to grow apart after high school, and Stacy probably actually is “just so busy” as she always says. It just stings that she’s probably spending all of her time with her new friends, who were good enough to get out of their shit hometowns and go to a prestigious school, who are also from wealthy families and probably get her in a way Brenda never really could and can do all the things with her that Brenda couldn’t, even if she were there. She probably barely thinks about Brenda, probably has a new best friend and, therefore, doesn’t consider Brenda to be hers anymore.

It’s more or less the same with Kyle. They at least tried to stay in touch, but it was just too awkward, the wound of their breakup too fresh. All they ever wanted in high school was to be together, and now they’re basically strangers. Something about that makes Brenda’s chest feel hollow if she thinks about it for too long. Jason at least reaches out to catch up from time to time. He doesn’t do it often, but when he does, it’s genuine, and his detailed questions leave Brenda feeling like he really does care what’s going on with her, even if they aren’t as close anymore. He always was such a sweet guy beneath all the bullying Max forced him to do.

Speak of the devil. The door swings open and he enters, strolling over to the counter over which Brenda’s currently leaning. He’s dressed in all black and has aviator sunglasses propped up on his head, which probably means he’s about to head into work. He started as the bouncer for this new nightclub down the street, and it seems to be working out alright. At the very least, he hasn’t gotten himself fired yet. It’s an improvement over the first few jobs he had out of high school. She isn’t exactly sure what went down, but now he has to go two towns over when he needs car repairs because he’s banned from Tony Green’s shop. He also only buys groceries at the expensive organic store; he insists that it’s because clean nutrition is important to his physical fitness, but the regular grocery store has vegetables and shit, too. In reality, there’s probably some sort of bad blood from the two weeks he was working there. He’s either banned or wisely choosing not to show his face there.

It took some trial and error, but it seems to be finally sinking in that the stuff he pulled in high school isn’t going to fly in the real world. He’s mellowed out considerably. Brenda would eat a whole slice of that disgusting sawdust pie and chug a whole pot of that gross, cold coffee (which she and her coworkers take a cue from the Beanie’s girls and spit in sometimes) before admitting this, but she’s actually sort of proud of him. That’s probably the weirdest development in all of this: Max might technically be her best friend now? She looks forward to his visits to her work, especially on painfully slow, boring days like this one (all the freaky regulars must be busy; literally two people have come by today). She spends time with him outside of work. Willingly. Like, she actually picks up her phone, texts him, and makes plans to go see a movie at the Cineplex or go to Beanie’s for slightly less awful coffee than they have here.

Over years you put many blood, sweat and tears into your friendship, and you're glued by hip. Kyle won't ever pick between you and Stan who is his closer friend, it would be even cruel to ask.

You two got along decently, good, not badly, but it always seemed you're more closer with Kyle than Stan.

You grew beside each other and your families became one, big family because of how close you've gotten between each other and made them grow closer. (Or not if your relation with them is bad)

No matter your family (or your own) relligion, you spend Hanukkah with Kyle and it's almost a norm of you being around.

You enjoy your WHOLE drive there, time spent in bigger city, it all was just amazing.

When you walked out of cinema you whipped your tears out of your eyes, so did Kyle, as you giggled and gushed about the ending of your beloved series.

Ride home was mixed, going from peaceful to chaotic, just atosphere was...magical. Lights of highway, music blasting loudly and Kyle jamming to it, while you take a glance with full adoration at him.

You sing a little, then you rest and sooner than later end up in South Park.

Kyle drives to your house first to drop you off, walks out of car to walk you to your door, and gazes at you.

"Thank you...for today. I had fun! I hope you did too."

"I did, you kidding me? Thanks for even offering. I...really appreciate it."

Kyle seems to hesitate, and then sighs deeply.

" Yeah, good night to you too man- oh wait what the fuck-??"

"I...wanted to say so, and today's spent time with you made me realise I'd hate you to spend the day out of South Park with someone else. I'd hate for you to have late-night drives with somebody else, I'd hate to see you happy with somebody else because...well, I wish you stayed with me. sometimes when scrolling past kyman analysises i get a little worried that people genuinely don't think kyle has the right to be upset with cartman, because he does! And that (+them caring for eachother regardless of anything) is why i like their dynamic:

because even if or when eric changes despite kyle having very much the right to atleast not forgive him.

having cartman become the person kyle always wanted him to be (maybe still being a dick but atleast a more ethical dick) and still holding onto those feelings of resentment is complicated for him, his own morals and both of their progresses!!

it's not something someone can easily forgive or probably won't ever. Like all the shit Kyle had to endure? Yeah.. but mostly for a character as strong and hotheaded as Kyle. I feel everyone has it easy to forgive Cartman (Stan, Kenny) but Kyle? Fuck even Butters would even struggle. Like you said, resentment. I can see Kyle having to force "growing up" from that bc either his friends persistent on accepting Cartman's changes or because he does feel it's right to do. But those feelings of resentment remain inside.

I think there would be parts of Kyle who'd be overwhelmed by those changes on Cartman, not knowing how to react probably even denial and also fear. And maybe for Kyle, being vulnerable and for Cartman of all people has his alarms going crazy. But there's also this Kyle who's proud for what Cartman archived? Bc in some way he witness that change, he contribute to it. Something he fight for. Something he wanted for Cartman and now that he's seeing actual progress it frightens him which takes away all the hits he was willing to take just to be able to see that happened for granted.

It's a "I endure hell to see you grow" type of cycle. Hope that it'd be better. For them to leave all of it aside and actually be friends. Even if that meant being hurt, humiliated in the process. Sacrifices he was willing to take. And it did but now Kyle remains resentful for it. For all of it.

I like to reflect on Kyle somehow. I went through a lot of emotional abuse for a long period of my life from someone close and I couldn't just back away from. I had to live with them around. There were times that it was great being around them, it was fun, comfortable and then, again a reminder of why I couldn't stand them. Because of all the hurt they gave me. And I just couldn't no matter how many apologies I received from the same person they meant nothing after a long period of abuse. Claims of wanting to "change" but never actually attempting to make that happen. I was hopeful things would be better but it never did, it worsen and I became more bitter about it than apologetic. I forgave but never forgot. And now that they're out from my life I can't ever forgive. Ofcourse this has nothing to do with Cartman and Kyle (it's a show after all) but it's what I use to put myself in Kyle's shoes. And if it weren't for it being fictional I honestly wouldn't be shipping them. But it is fictional and something about their relationship it's different from the rest of the other characters. It's different in the show. They work. I'm not saying Kyle's a victim cause he's fucking not.

They're both in a cycle they created. Kyle ain't no little angel early seasons show a whole other side of him that he outgrew from (not entirely). Kyle can fight back. And Cartman wasn't always some messed up kid just a dumb one. I'm not justifying his actions he's a dick. But I personally see them both in the wrong in the situation they're in.

Besides, their relationship feels more like the show puts them as "rivals". They can hangout, stand each other, be on equal ground, fight, tease, go against each other, get along. Hate is a strong word to use but I can't see them hating each other. Mostly bc we seen Stan telling Kyle to not go along with Cartman's shit if he doesn't want to deal with it, and he does that when he isn't feeling like it! (Tsss is a good example of that) also that episode where Kyle was rejected from the basketball team, Cartman stops his shit the moment he realizes Kyle isn't fighting back. Kyle is complying not standing his ground. It's no longer fun for him. Their relationship feels playful in a sense. That's toxic but that's what they grew use to and it's hard to break a toxic cycle like whatever shit they have going on.

If you hate someone you wouldn't care for what they do outside of you, you wouldn't save their life, you wouldn't be able to fight with them on one side and be friends on the other, you wouldn't rely of the other when things hit the fan/go wrong. These two are something else.

Pretty much their actions say otherwise.

Hahshaha dude I can talk about them all day, this thing is long but this is just me talking in the perspective I see Kyle on. Cartman is a whole other story😭😭

ok so. mayhaps i am talking out of my ass here, i havent rly fathomed the whole album yet, and there are songs i associate w/ a variety of ships/fic ideas. BUT more songs fic sargewood than any other ship so. allow me to explain.

this is all speculative to taylor swift’s life so its not #confirmed but allegedly this album is abt leaving long term relationship she felt trapped in (joe), and then rebounding in a short term fling (matty). if we look at these songs through the lens of joe=f1 and matty=indycar, therefore kyle, this is how i fathom these songs in a sargewood way.

OBVIOUSLY this does not work for many of the songs, but for the ones it does it is so compelling. also she broke up with matty anyway and he allegedly SUCKS so i’m only rly considering “early relationship” songs here.

Fresh out the slammer is probably the best example: leaving a relationship and immediately knowing where you’re going next. if logan doesn’t have a future in f1, indycar /is/ the place to go, and kyle is his connection. if he gets dropped, you KNOW kyle is one of the first people he’s calling

In So Long, London, London not only represents the place, but also Joe and their relationship. I did not come up with this, but I saw people on tiktok saying that while joe=london, matty=florida. the entire song is abt being trapped monotony of her old life (london/joe) and escaping to the new exciting florida(matty).

this fits logan just as florida proper—he can always go home and relax to take a break from the stress of f1. BUT if u wanna see it in a sargewood way--they can both escape their stressful racing lives, come back to florida, to EACHOTHER. this song makes me insane abt them fr. I also like to hear “fuck me up, florida” as “fuck me in florida” AND YOU CAN TOO

LAST SONG i’m using for this thesis, but i’m not ruling out fathoming more as sargewood through the joe=f1 matty=indy/kyle lens. it’s a long ass album, i’m employed, i can only do so much

BUT LETS TALK FORTNIGHT

this fathoming was key to me liking this song. HOWEVER while the last two can be fathomed as sargewood in general, fortnight fits a specific fic idea i have where i need to explain some lore first.

logirlie historians will know how after the 2020 f3 season, logan was in a sort of a limbo career wise before he got the call from williams and we know where it goes from there. in this time he was testing for indy, thinking his european racing career was basically over.

so the fic idea. kyle & logan have always had a bit of a ~non platonic connection~ but neither has acted on it due to the distance etc etc. but in this short period of time (a fortnight, perhaps 👀), when its looking like logan might be heading to indycar, the dam breaks and they have a short fling that is more serious than either will admit after, when it ends when logan goes back to f3.

The ACTUAL fic would be years later, where logan leaves f1 and goes to indycar in 2025(?). years have passed, and they've stayed friends this whole time so it /should/ be fine, but now that the distance is no longer an issue all those old feelings come bubbling right up to the surface. they could, of course, just communicate and get together easy peasy but that wouldn't be a fun fic would it? of COURSE it'd be messy.

I haven't written anything, it's more of just a nebulous concept rn and idk if it'll ever go anywhere but it is ALL i think abt when listening to fortnight. The florida and car reference in the bridge is just the cherry on top
