Prompt: Surprising your partner by randomly peppering their face with kisses rapidly then acting like nothing happened.

Needless to say Jean wasn’t prepared. She was mid head turn when your hand held her head in place as you covered her face with kisses, leaving no patch unkissed. You pulled away abruptly as you handed her the bouquet behind your back.

“Love you dear, don’t overwork yourself okay?” You said as you set it on the table casually. She was stunned before her brain started to process it all, blush crept up her cheeks.

“I- won’t thank you dear. Just give me a warning next time.” She said fixing her hair as you smiled victoriously.

“My humble servant, it has been approximately 2 hours since I have seen you!~ i demand attention this instant!” Furina proclaimed as she held onto the groceries bags, Crabletta, Chevalmarin, an Usher carrying the rest. Before she could even set them down you launched your attack. Holding her face gently as she closed her eyes leaning her cheek out to accept your onslaught. Her small smile grew as she readily accepted each smooch. You kissed her nose, her forehead, each cheek, her temples, her lips, anywhere that you could. You pulled away as you wiped your lips, taking some of the bags with a smile. “Welcome home dear.” You gave her one last kiss as she smiled.

“Did I say you could stop?”

“I understand that you’ve missed me dear bu-mm could you at least let me- finish my sentence.” Neuvillette was used to your antics at this rate, although he was s little nervous with it being in his office. There wasn’t anything wrong with kisses, but he didn’t want people to get the wrong idea. He is a ‘man’ of many things, justice, refinement, respect and power, how would anyone react to seeing how he lets his partner overpower him him, pinning him to his chair as they lavish him with kisses?

“No.” You spoke quickly as you immediately continued your work. He tried to lean his head to watch the door but you simply followed it to continue the smooching. He sighed in defeat, but you knew he was enjoying every moment of contact between you, wether or not he’d admit it. You heard a little rumble in chest confirming your suspicions.

“I suppose as long as no one is watching. I have a reputation to maintain.”

“When others are around you are the iudex, but alone you are my canvas and I will lather my lipstick onto you until you are undoubtedly mine.” You smiled at your attempt to speak the way he does. He chuckled slightly as he moved some hair out your face.

“I see, its a possessive behavior on your part, then I shall reciprocate the gesture with my own.”

You thought you could just leave so easily? Ambush Navia with a smooch fest then ditch? Absolutely not! You hardly got one inch away before she hooked her fingers around your hair and tugged you back, turning you and surprising you with her own smooch ambush! Kisses upon kisses with little time inbetween! Her lipstick smudged as she held you to the wall not allowing you to escape your karma! After some time she pulled away with a smug look in her eyes.

“Prepare yourself, I’m not done just yet!” She triumphantly proclaimed as she dove back in.

“In surprised you were able to hold back for so long.” Kamisato Ayato was many things, rich, well known, powerful, but being a sucker for his dearest’s antics wasn’t a widely known attribute. But it was the truth. Your arms wrapped around his neck as you two were seated on the floor. He merely smiled as you raided his face with your lips. Although the gloss on your lips wasn’t as noticeable as lipstick, the glitter would prove difficult for so long.

It is standard practice in Inazuma to not show alot of PDA when guests are present, so you always saved ever urge and every intrusive thought for the moment you two were alone. He wasn’t one to complain, not one bit.

“Should I return the favor? We have about a hour or so before the next meeting.” He said softly as his hand nestled in your hair.

“If only it was the whole day.” You pouted. He smiled as he laid a smooch onto your lips.

“We’ll continue afterwards if you like. Just let me take control for a bit.” He spoke.

“I can’t get it off!” Thoma stared at the mirror as he dabbed the cloth in the bucket and scrubbed his face. the many many lipstick marks were stubborn and refused to come off. You smirked as he struggled to remove it.

“Your face is red enough now, they’ve completely blended in.” You tease, laying a kiss to his neck, at this rate however your lipstick had been worn out so it only left a faint mark as he groaned.

“I love you too but I have to train new staff today! You could’ve warned me that you were going to wear lipstick when you did this.” He sighed,unable to hold any annoyance towards you.

No one wanted to ask. Someone had to. It was terrifying. But it made sense.

Of course humanity finally abandoned its planet. Everyone was surprised they hadn’t abandoned it sooner. Still, the concern was there.

What made humanity abandon their planet in a mass event? What thing was finally found to scare them off their favorite death world?

Of course not every last human abandoned the planet, but enough did that Earth was no longer considered ‘inhabited’. Humans flocked to other worlds, most choosing death worlds with similar biomes to the ones they preferred. (And there was a suspiciously armored ship heading towards Disney planet.)

The concerning thing was the humans kept going back. Never landing. Never breaking the atmosphere. Just driving by.

Finally, a delegate was chosen to ask the human council member. Poor Laeri was nervous, but they had been called friend by council member Daryl before. Surely this question wouldn’t be an offense.

“Daryl, may I speak with you a moment?”

Daryl paused, and nodded, careful not to smile. He was well practiced in the art of not offending. “Of course Laeri. What is the matter?”

“Humanity has recently applied for habitation permits for a dozen planets. As soon as the permits were awarded, humans left very quickly.”

“Well sure. The permits took three earth years to be approved. Most of the planet had been preparing for over five years at that point,” Daryl explained.

“Yes, that is not my question. The question is why?”

“Why were they ready?”

Laeri shook their head. “Why did they leave Earth? Humans have made it a point to ‘stick it out’ despite better options being available. Why leave now?”

“Oh, that. Well.” Daryl paused. He knew he didn’t have to report officially yet, but his friend wanted to know. “Will you keep it a secret from the council?”

Laeri paused. The answer being a secret did not occur to them. What could the humans possibly be hiding? Would they be able to hide it as well?

“I do not think I can keep any dangerous thing a secret,” Laeri finally admitted.

Daryl nodded. “Nor would I ask you to. It’s not dangerous, just a little experiment more like.”

“If it is an experiment, then you should speak with-“

“No Laeri.” Daryl interrupted calmly. “This isn’t something we want help with. That’s why we haven’t mentioned anything to the Viyon Academics. We just need time to see if it works.”

Their curiosity finally got the better of them.

“If what works?”

“A new society. A new civilized species.”

Laeri didn’t speak, but either from awe or concern, they weren’t sure. Daryl continued.

“We believe a species evolves when they start to take care of their injured and impaired. It means they have compassion. Well an intelligent species on earth has been observed showing compassion. We simply want to give them the space they require to evolve.”

Laeri considered the intelligent species that lived on earth. They were suddenly very concerned. Had the humans been duped?

“The dolphi are showing compassion?” Laeri asked.

Daryl almost laughed. “Not even close. No, we wouldn’t break the agreement we made. They’re not escaping earth anytime soon.”

Laeri felt immediate relief. “Then which species is it?”

Daryl smiled. He couldn’t help it. He liked birds. “Corvids.”

“But, but they’re so small.”

“We know. That’s why some humans are still there, zoologist types to help them grow, learn, and show them the way.”

“What if another species wipes them out before they get the chance?”

Daryl shrugged. “Well that’s why we left some warriors behind, to help keep the corvids alive while they grow. And of course to keep the dolphins contained. We do take that assignment very seriously.”

Laeri was excited now. Another avian species may be joining the galaxy soon. They wanted to tell everyone.

“Promise you’ll keep the secret?” Daryl asked.

Laeri felt their excitement dash upon the cruel rocks of reality. “I will.”

“Good. Here.” Daryl held out a small computer drive.

Laeri took the drive. “What is this?”

“The live feed of the experiment. You really think we wouldn’t watch? As soon as they reach civilized status, I have to report them. Until then, they’ve been completing some very complex puzzles and problem solving lately. You’ll want to start at the beginning but they post new information all the time.”

Laeri clutched the drive to their feathered tunic. Suddenly the small drive was priceless. “I, must go now.”

Laeri took off as fast as would be ignored by others. Daryl watched his friend, surprised by how excited they were. His watch gave him an alert.

“Ooh, a group puzzle. Wonder if they managed it this time.”

Daryl walked off to his own private quarters to watch the newest update on the corvids.

Mhmm I sure love thinking of the reality where we did get more time to really know Karai and her dynamics with the bros. Losing her hit hard in the finale, but it would’ve hit much, much harder had we known Karai longer and really saw her relationships develop with everyone.

I especially would have been interested in her dynamic with Leo, as past iterations often have the two of them clash in ideals and the like while still sharing many characteristics. Two sides of the same coin, and all that. Her specifically being the bros’ Gram-Gram also adds a whole new dynamic as well.

Imagine how interesting it would be, to have Karai start off on Leo’s side for once, showing wholly just how alike the two are at their cores and bonding as family without the worry of betrayal or animosity that other iterations suffer through, only to have Karai die anyway. Their parting hug and the desperate look of horror Leo wears later on would have hit that much harder, I feel.

A bead of sweat dripped down your forehead, stinging your eyes as you swiped it away. The dirt stained jumpsuit you were sporting smeared a new line of dark brown/orange across your face. "Jesus Christ.."

'Yeah yeah whatever. I know how to do my job.' You thought to yourself, rolling your eyes before throwing a thumbs up in the air to your boss. "Yes Sir! Everything is fastened I'm back on my way down as we speak!"

Maneuvering down the side of the half built building, you made sure to watch your feet, wary of the placement of loose nails, sharp edged beams, and other construction workers as well. "No, I know I've been working everyday but I really just need the money right now. Especially with rent coming up." Your boss looked at you and crossed his arms. "Listen, Y/N. You drug your feet all the way to the clock out station, making every last second of your time count before submitting your time card. You walked to your locker and pulled out your bag, grabbing your car keys and walking to the parking lot of the building you were helping build. You unlocked the car and began your journey home, the sun finally setting as you began the long drive out of the city and into the desert, where your home was located and far from the shining bright lights of the city.

Pulling into your driveway, you turned off the car and headed up the stairs to your house, unlocking the door and pulling your grimy work boots off to leave outside by the front door.

Once inside you flipped some of the lights on and walked to your bathroom, stripping naked to shower and get all the dirt and nastiness off of you from work. The steam from the shower quickly filled the room and you brushed your teeth before hopping in the shower and relaxing as the warmth of the water poured down your back.

You closed your eyes, letting yourself relax before a loud boom rang through your ears. “What the hell?!” You quickly turned off the water and wrapped a towel around yourself, looking outside to try and see what the noise was.

The darkness made it hard to see, even though the moon had fully risen by this point. In the shadows though you saw what looked like a giant crater in the ground, some brush around the area glowing like it had almost caught on fire. You squinted and gasped when you began to hear helicopters in the distance, shutting the curtain and all the lights off in the house so they would leave you alone.

‘What in the hell is going on? Did a piece of a satellite just fall in my yard?’

You threw on a loose night shirt and climbed into bed, pulling your covers up over you and relaxing into the mattress, your eyes beginning to feel heavy almost immediately.

‘If a satellite fell then the government better be willing to pay me for the damage to my property..’

You closed your eyes and fell asleep, only slightly annoyed by the sound of helicopter blades above your house.
