kpop fandom is incredibly strange bc it views "stanning" a group as being more about the people in the group and not the music. which leads to an environment where it's totally normal to see people proclaiming themselves to be fans of a group that hasn't actually released music yet, and on the flip side of things, people in youtube comments of more established groups will regularly say that they aren't a fan of this group but they have listened to and loved literally every song by that group so they're thinking about "getting into them"

For me, they're also the first kpop ship (over 10 years of kpop lmao) that makes me raise my eyebrows. (almost all of shipping analysis videos I've seen consist of over editing moments to make them seem more intimate than they actually are or doing some crazy mental gymnastics from words that the members of the ship in question say and then you go back and watch the original content and then you're like "tf there's nothing really going on here???")

But that year was actually insane and what really sparked my 🤨 about them. Ironically it's not the moments that the majority fans know of (even the song, though it cements a lot of things); it was actually a series of moments throughout the Maniac Tour that completely went under most peoples' radars when put together.

You don't have to do things like slow-mo all of the skinship moments they have/force certain narratives of them and the other members. To me, the footage over the years as is (especially the less curated ones where they interact more spontaneously like concerts, vlives, and even a couple of the early fansigns) says enough.

I haven't done lists in a while and there's a lot pilling up just this week so it's time to bring it back.

1. I'm revisting Old Hollywood again now that I've watched most of the films nominated for Oscar this year. The Be Kind Rewind youtube channel has been sort of the trigger for going back to the past and for that I have to thank @shimako for the recommendation 🩷 I've watched the 2 hour and a half video essays on the Valley of The Dolls and the behind the scenes story is far more interesting that the film itself.

Not to say that the themes addressed in the film wouldn't be, like disillusionment in Hollywood, personal grievances, what it means to be an actress and especially not a really succesful one. It reminded me of Didion's Play It As It Lays (which I think it's a better piece of literature although the film adaption seems to have turned into a failure?)

2. Anyway, that made me go down the rabbit hole and watch other essays on Ruth Gordon (amazing woman) and Katharine Hepburn.

3 . Speaking of Hepburn, I realized yesterday that I've only seen her paired on screen with Cary Grant and not with Spencer Tracy (I know!). So I rectified that mistake and I watched Adam's Rib (George Cukor, 1949) and I finally understood what all the fuss was about and I have some sort of theory. Grant and Hepburn together are like this very performative version of a couple in which the constant bickering takes center stage, but even when they do get together, it lacks something. A bit of authenticity. But with the Hepburn-Tracy duo, you can almost feel it. It's right there in the small, natural gestures. Instant chemistry and love. They work so well together. I guess the off screen affair of 26 years helped that as well.

3. I love Mommy Dearest and Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford. The screaming, the crying, the makeup, "No wire hangers!". Poor baby Christina. It's a shame though that Faye Dunaway distanced herself from it because of how "bad" it turned out, but I understand why she felt she had to do it.

But I also couldn't help but think of DeNiro in Cape Fear and his own campy performance in a very 90s ridiculous film that allowed Scorsese to try his hand at that type of thriller. DeNiro's career didn't suffer because of it, as opposed to Dunaway's version of camp, which I prefer actually. It may have been hated at that time, but Mommie Dearest is a cult classic.

8. Stans of all types are stanning and fighting. One day 🐥 girlies, the next day 🐰 girlies and all the other crazies all week long, no break. I do read the stuff in my inbox, but I'm really not in a mood to comment on every shitty thing that happens so often. I know that once I do it, then I just invite more and it's just pointless. There's no actual JM and JK which is frustrating enough and no travel show on the horizon and it's just too bleak at this point.

We're waiting, clock is ticking. At least release a travel show as a summer content, ok?

9. I did see that Billboard kpop 100 top. Yeah, I don't understand the logic of including individual artists if they haven't charted on their own. Don't these people have editors to point out the flaws in the listicles? It's just dumb.

I've been binge-watching all NCT MVs, stages and dance practice videos, again :p Doyoung really has something that intrigues everytime I watch though he is not my bias. I have a soft spot for him since I watched some of NCT life seasons but I follow him just lil bit then. I have the complex that I can't leave the ones that I have so much time invested to watch them, even when sometimes I find other members much more intrigue me.

Ermm, when is the exact moment that you know Do is your ult bias and just focus on him? You are keen to observe him mature as an artist but also as a person, I mean both on cam and off cam. You must have a strong faith in who he is and what he gonna offer next I guess... Sometimes I realize that I am toxic to expect my biases to go the way I want and achieve this n that, kind of living by proxy mental. That's frustrated! Do you ever expect anything from being a Do bias? For me I think I am about to give up on the idol-fangirl relationship.. I mean I would still support them but I want to observe many other things besides that I don't notice be4 instead of screaming and crazily watch tons of videos with guilty pleasure. That's normal. When humans invest a lot in something, they have hard time abandoning it. It's a problem in business. Most can't terminate a project in progress even if it becomes evident it will fail and won't be profitable (so it's better to drop it and stop spending money on it).

Life hack. If you'll make people help you somehow, they will be more ready to care about you, heh. You will make them be invested in you. Literally.

Anyhow.

You can take a break with your biases though? And comeback with renewed interest after some time. The good thing about k-pop is that content is saved on platforms. No problem in catching up after a few years. The time you invested in them won't become a waste of time in any case, your gained knowledge about them won't dissapear.

When I asked what should I watch to get to know NCT, I was directed to Idol Weekly with NCT2018. I'd already singled out Jaehyun, Doyoung and Taeyong after watching a few MVs and dance practices, but I hadn't memorised their names yet. By the end of the programme I was sure Doyoung will be my bias. You can read this tag for more info.

I usually "fall in love" very quickly and don't get dissapointed. Eventhough it happens when I warm up to celebreties/fictional characters with time, after getting to know them better, such cases never turn into a new obsession. So Doyoung wasn't an exception. And the fact that in Wish I like the members, but noone hooked me, most probably mean that there won't be a second Doyoung. On the other hand, it's nice to have a whole group to be appealing for a change.

Hm, eventhough I want Doyoung to achieve this and that, I'm still a passive observer, so I won't be dissapointed with any outcome. I'm an admirer, not an "idol-producer". Doyoung does, I observe and marvel. Whatever he wins in life are his achievements. I get from him the process, the journey to those mountain picks. A life story of an ambitious person and an artist. There are no other types of parasocial relationships and co-dependencies.

If you understood your problem of an unhealthy fan-idol relationship (living vicariously through someone is bad), you have the power to change yourself and your attitude. The first step to solving an issue is a recognition of the said issue. Likewise, if you feel like you outgrew fangirling, then move on to newer pastures.

Eventhough I can safely call myself a stan, I'm an active participant in the fandom, my interest in NCT (and Doyoung) is supported by much more than a pretty face and a nice voice. It's showbusiness, it's social dynamics, leadership, stage outfits, concept development, Korean culture and mentality, Korean variety, the fandom itself, afterall. Doyoung is the White rabbit that leads me to Wonderland where I encounter all other interesting things.

As for content. I skip "empty" content and make sure to watch "informative" programmes. Those that will show me the members from a new side, or provide me with a better understanding of them.

Pick up a topic that is either very interesting to you (brings satisfaction, joy) or can be very useful to you (develop you) and dig. If anything, you'll practice active search and choosing your own direction. In this age of algorythms offering us stuff and deciding for us, it's a needed skill. How to be proactive and be a manager of one's own life.

Chapter 1 and 2 of the prince and me and my cellphone A Bangchan x Reader

Chapter one

The crowd was screaming and chanting as Stray Kids got on stage. I spent most of my savings to come here. I gasped as they got on stage. It seemed so surreal. My eyes never left Bangchan. His perfect hair and eyes and body. My heart skipped a beat I could almost feel our eyes meet. Logically I know that's not possible but, in my head, I felt it.

No one in my life understands my love for Stray Kids. Everyone just thinks I’m some crazy fan girl that is obsessed with them because I think they’re hot. That’s not the truth. They don’t understand that they were there when no one else was. Through all the bullying and abuse they were there. Their music and videos helped me through it all.

“Y/N...” my friend, Alice, whispered from next to me. Her long blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail that showed off her beautiful, and gentle face. “Can we leave? I’m bored and I don’t want to be here anymore...”

“You can leave. I want to see them perform.” I said with a smile. Alice rolled her eyes but nodded.

“Okay just...be careful.” She said before leaving. Alice and I are complete opposites. Alice is confident and outgoing and popular. I was shy and insecure and the only friend I had was Alice. I honestly don’t know why she remains friends with me. We’ve known each other since diapers so I guess that’s why.

I watched as Alice left. I was a little disappointed because I wanted her to stay but as soon as my attention went back to Bangchan my disappointment left me. He was so attractive. I wanted to be with someone like him so bad. Someone as kind and as good of a leader as him. I sometimes fantasize about us getting married.

By the time the show ended the only thing I could think of was food. I left the concert and went to Alice’s and I’s favorite restaurant. It was a little Italian place. It was cheap and didn’t always smell great, but it had the best food I’ve ever tasted. While I sat waiting for my order, I heard a familiar voice.

“I don’t know why I hang out with Y/N. She’s so annoying. All she wants to do is talk about her kpop boy bands.” It was Alice. She sounded so mad. I continued to listen.

“Then just stop talking to her.” Sophia, a girl we went to high school with, said.

“I’m afraid she’d hurt herself.” Alice said with a sigh.

“I wouldn’t hurt myself.” I said standing up and going to walk out.

“Y/N!!” Alice said and followed me out.

“Your highness?” A soft voice said as I woke up slowly looking around. The sun light is shining in through a window. The bed was comfortable and warm. I didn’t want to move. “Your highness.” The voice repeated. “it’s time for breakfast.”

“Hm?” I look in the direction of the man standing next to my bed and I scream. His hands were gentle as he grabbed me.

“whats wrong your highness?” his eyes were a gentle blue. His skin was tan and his hair was long and black. “why are you screaming?”

“Who are you? Where am I?” I am backing away from him in fear.

“Well I’m Vincent. And you’re in the princes’ palace. The place you’ve been for the past year your highness.” His words were kind and gentle.

hiiii today's reminder is i did in fact end up getting my sister's birthday gift at a store and now part of me is lowkey annoyed because i could've put it off for another couple of days because they had it in stock, i thought I'd have to go ask them to order it (yes i could get it on amazon but amazon creeps me out for some reason so i don't. i think it's the logo but i just hate it)

also to explain why I'm annoyed: it's very very very cold out. it's like 3 degrees celcius (i don't understand fahrenheit I'm sorry) with zero visibility and the wind feels like it's cutting slices out of you. there's literally an orange alert out for the weather and my hr was nice enough to send a long list of reasons we should stay indoors and ended it with "see you at the office then :) drive safe :))". once again. literally zero visibility. i sense a massive avoidable accident forcing the local authorities to step in and let us work remotely any time now. speaking of which, a few weeks ago, in the building right opposite my office, a bunch of people got trapped in an elevator that fell from the eighth floor. I'm now too scared to get in elevators, I've had awful luck all year I'm not risking this shit

Hiii, oh yay that's great but I totally understand about the Amazon logo I don't like when it moves in commercials something about that doesn't sit right with me. Why is it smiling? 3⁰C is 37⁰ F which my goodness I haven't even been in weather lower than maybe 50⁰F (10⁰C) so I can't even imagine how cold it must be and no one should be on the road under thise conditions. Hopefully they could make that decision before anything bad happens. Just stay safe and extra warm if you have to go outsidr. And no nope elevators, falling, getting stuck, breaking is so terrifying I totally get you not worth the risk. Same i just want to go to one kpop concert. I wish I wore a different outfit but if I get to see NCT or Stray Kids I'm definitely gonna choose the perfect outfit. Though for stray kids I will wear a white hoodie and white skirt cause I had a dream about Hyunjin in that specific outfit and I'm totally and completely normal. Still looking for a skirt I don't wanna cop out and get it from shein. It needs to be perfect. Preferably a tennis skort.

so, so I've been trying to gather the courage to tell you the truth 😶 I hardly know anything about Twice and Red Velvet. I do recognize the members' names only because of Tumblr...I'm pretty sure I can name all the members of Red Velvet. I kinda only follow certain kpop blogs for the photography, and Red Velvet's aesthetic is always on point. I think I've listened to at least 1 song by both groups. By appearance alone, my favorite is Seulgi (something about the way she looks at the camera), but I also think Yeri is really pretty. I cannot name a single song by either group. I sometimes listen to Blackpink (I'm a casual Rose and Jisoo fan).

Anyway, that's what I wanted to confess to you 😳 Feel free to recommend a Twice and/or Red Velvet song that you think I must listen to.

Well, I'm not also deep into Red Velvet's nor Twice's discography but I knew almost all of their Popular Songs (which is redundant but hey, they're still fun to sing and dance to).

Now that you mentioned Seulgi's Appearance, I recommend you to listen to her solo album (although I haven't yet, I'm pretty sure it's good!) but first, check out the lead or title track of that album, "28 reasons" , check its mv, I think somehow, you'll love it (even the teaser..)

But if you really want to hear first the whole group's discography, check out Red Velvet's Russian Roulette (the mv too), Psycho (with it's pretty and aesthetic music video elements that I think will suit you taste, perhaps), or Bad Boy (I think it's also beautiful in its own way). Or if you want you can also watch Red Velvet's Peek-a-boo with it's kind of dark concept in its music video.

They have a more cutesy concept back in their debut days, but they also do some dark concepts into their songs. They are quite versatile too, just check out the audio of Cry For Me by Twice, but you don't have to force yourself, step by step, you can try watching little by little of their songs, to find what's to your liking..

Even now, they're still soaring high as one of the 3rd Generation Girl Kpop Idol (mind you, we're already in the start of 5th gen kpop, I feel old), their new title tracks songs would be "Talk & Talk", "Moonlight Sunrise".. that's all I know, sorry 😢✨

Each point of this post will speak to different demographics but:

Jimin's Getting Ready with Jimin video for Dior was so incredibly fake. I expected something cute but he was given a whole script by Dior, about Dior. Did they really think that was an effective way to promote the brand? Giving the man who made their stocks reach an all-time high with just an announcement awkward lines about practical boots that resemble gardening boots, hence Monsieur Dior must've been a fan of gardening, and how Jimin's suit was in Dior gray lmao.

I was watching the Mnet stage for Viviz's Pull Up and it strongly reminded me of WJSN The Black's Easy and Twice's I Can't Stop Me, both in terms of styling and choreo. The song sounds a lot like older gens gg music, but I like that it's different from Bop Bop and Loveade. While it's nice (I like the rap parts in particular because they were surprising), it's not that great and some parts sound too dated. Same goes for the choreo. The MV is, well, an MV. Like 90% of kpop MVs, I don't understand how they were put together, what kind of story or timeline they follow, or how anyone thought they'd be visually pleasing. It's clear who's sponsoring them though.

NCT 127's Ay-Yo is one of their most "normal", least cringey tracks I've heard in a while. Of course there had to be some part that was cringe, which is why they had Jaehyun sexily whisper "Ay-Yo", but, dude, I'm sorry to tell you, I don't care how handsome you are, you cannot pull that off. Honestly, the song sounds pretty familiar, like an NCT/EXO hybrid, but I like it. I don't know them very well (I liked Favorite a lot), but their songs are rarely bad - it's the cringe lyrics that ruin them (WTF is "Two Baddies, Two Baddies, One Porsche"). I probably won't listen to their album though, because the last time I did it was like listening to Red Velvet'- generic and soulless RnB (like DJ was, though, again, it wasn't bad).

Overall Favorites were "Black or White" by Cross Gene, "BEcause" by Dreamcatcher, and "Voodoo Doll" by Vixx.

My reasonings for black or white & voodoo doll are pretty similar as in i am a sucker for violence and gore. ehehe. predictable choices there

black or white had a STUNNING video, the lighting of the whole thing was so delightful, i loved the contrast between the warm red oranges, cool blues, and the very bright white towards the end. Some of the violence and graphics made me shudder but i mean that in a great way. it made me so happy i had to rewrite the note because i was shaking so much from stimming lmao

the effects in voodoo doll went so hard actually, quite a few of the scenes actually remind me of how some of the original hellraiser was shot which was exciting to me because i heart hellraiser. i loved the effects and body movements that went into showing them being controlled in a voodoo doll sense and i LOVED the makeup quite a bit. also the choreography went so hard i need to see if there's a dance practice vid for that, i love dance practices

AND BECAUSE WAS LIKE. MADE FOR ME RIGHT. slash not serious BUT i LOVE fucked up hotel and carnival imagery (which is something i commented and made notes about in other vids as well) and combining the two and making it a little mind fucky was SO NICE. AUGH. genuinely such a pleasure to watch.

some other vids i really liked were "Piri" by Dreamcatcher, "Hate You" by Ladies Code, "Poison" by Pink Fantasy, "Monster" by Irene & Seulgi, "Girls" by Nature, "Monster" by EXO, "Witch" by Boyfriend, "V" by Lee Jung Hyun, and "Midnight Circus" by Sunny Hill.

Despite that list i liked most of them! there were some that weren't bad but overall just not my thing so i wasn't really the target audience to enjoy them. there were also some where the videos were GREAT but the songs weren't really my thing so there was a mix match of feelings there but still fun

this is unrelated to your ask so feel free to ignore but i've actually only been like. really getting into kpop and stuff for a few weeks now (i had a few songs i've liked for years but i'm only recently getting super into it) and it's been so fun finding new music and stuff! i love it so much because i LOVE watching the choreography and performances and people's stage presences and AUGH. i definitely prefer more upbeat & faster & rap and/or rock heavier songs but sometimes even if the songs aren't my things, the videos and performances just make it so fun and enjoyable anyway (like some of the videos you listed here) and augh. music :•)

yes exactly!! it's freeing to do stuff alone sometimes, it kinda started bc one summer i wanted to watch a scary movie that came out (hereditary) but no one would watch it with me LOL so i decided i'll just go by myself. i used to worry what other people would think but i realized i quite enjoy my own company so now i'm more comfortable doing it! Oh nice! For me it started in college, just with how classes and stuff worked out, I spent most of my time alone and had to go out of my way to hang out with friends, and I started to enjoy some of that alone time, I like just vibing sometimes.

Jongdae is my bias <333 I love him so much T_T who is your bias? or biases? I know some people have multiple, especially in bigger bands. To be honest, my ult top 10 has several EXO members! But Jongdae will always be my EXO bias, and my ult bias across all of kpop!

I've been an EXOL since... Tempo! While I enjoyed their title tracks before then, bought their songs and listened to their MVs etc, I didn't truly appreciate them until I listened to the Don't Mess Up My Tempo album. Everything clicked then, and I realised I had been so wrong about them before T_T and after listening to all their previous music it became evident that they'd always be my number one~

I do have some other interests. Like you saw, I enjoy gaming. The Mass Effect and Far Cry franchises are my everything <3 no matter what else is happening, I can always return to them and find some semblance of peace... it's hard to explain. But you can fish in FC5! Sometimes I just pop the game on to do that. Or turn on ME:A to travel between planets - it has this awesome feature where it's kinda like you're piloting the ship to each one. I've been thinking of Feros and Noveria again, which are missions in the first Mass Effect. They are my favourites! and I also need to finish my AC Syndicate playthrough so I can move forward to the next--

It hasn't been long since we've known each other. I know that now, after the semester of Junior year ends, we won't be able to see each other. The only way I was able to see you was because we took a performing arts class together this semester. Next semester, after winter break, I'm taking music.

I want to tell you this but even now, during winter break, I'm still not sure. Maybe if we had more time to spend together, I would have the courage to talk to you and develop a better relationship with you. I'm not sure if you know, but I think I liked you. Or, I admired you at least.

Soonyoung, you may be the craziest boy I've ever seen in my life. When I took performing arts with you, you were timid at first, which I found cute. Now, you have no trouble talking to me at all. I realized that once you talk to a person once, you can talk to them a million times again. Thank you for talking with me.

You're cool. Whenever someone in the class feels discouraged because the teacher is being strict, you always remind them that it's fine and you nicely correct them. That happened to me too. I know that I'm probably not that good at dancing but because of your help, I could find the difference of very small details like which angle I'm facing, the angle of my hands, all that. You're sharp and concise when it comes to dancing and that makes you cool.

I appreciate you for helping me dance. I'm quite a hard worker so whenever I couldn't get something right, I would keep practicing. Everyone would be resting at the side when it was time to rest, but I couldn't rest unless I perfected a move. Thank you for always dancing with me. I know you're always tired after dancing but you manage to make it seem as if you're always full of energy and sometimes, you really are filled with energy.

I think the reason for falling for you was because of your personality and how you took care of everyone. You were a kind guy that wasn't afraid to stand up for other people. My heart especially fluttered when I saw you asking the teacher to stop yelling at the students for not getting the moves right. I like you a lot and respect you too, Soonyoung.

I also really liked how you danced. I still remember that first time our teacher put on some random music and asked us individually to freestyle. Almost everyone didn't know what to do so we just moved our bodies. I'm pretty sure I looked like a complete idiot while freestyling at first, right?

Well, compared to you, all of us seemed like complete noobs. The way you read the music and moved your body to the beat and rhythm of the song you heard for the first time was mesmerizing. Whenever I think about it, my jaw always drops. You were so cool and my heart was racing. Your hand movements were sharp and the amount of body control you had was truly amazing, Soonyoung.

That's the true reason why I wanted you to teach me to dance. That's the true reason why I asked you to watch my freestyle. I admired you so much, Soonyoung. I really respected you and your dancing. I felt so inspired by it.

I just know it, that day when I walked up to you in the classroom, fumbling with my hands, I must've looked like a complete weirdo, right? Since we didn't talk much, I didn't expect you to remember my name. I don't know if you saw me blushing, but I was.

“I have a request... Can you watch my freestyle?”

Your flustered expression was really cute. Your eyes widened a little and I think I saw your ears turn pink too. You went like “hm?”

When you watched my freestyle, I'm sure you were disgusted, but I'm thankful that you didn't walk say because it probably looked as if I had no potential to be a dancer (yes, this made me fall for you as well). You helped me learn to read beats and continued to tell me which parts of my freestyle were good. You taught me a lot of things regarding freestyle and quickly, I was able to find my style and improve overall as a dancer.

You also started recording me dance. I was shy at first, but I'm thankful you did it. I don't know if you still have the videos on your phone because we don't communicate outside of school, but I hope you don't have the ones when I was still beginning to freestyle!!! Gosh, it's like haunting me just thinking that you still have the videos!!!

I also want to thank you for this hehe... During the days when we were given free time to dance, talk, and practice, I saw you dancing to SHINEE. I want to thank you for that. I was just practicing my freestyle but then you invited me to learn a dance by SHINEE. When I first saw their dance, I was immediately hooked. You then taught me slowly, step by step, for the days when we had break time. Now I know so many SHINEE dances that I've begun learning to dance to different kpop songs in my room.

All this time, I've just been talking about how kind, caring, and cool you are because that's what I thought of you. You were so cool, Soonyoung. I admired you but I also know that I liked you. To me, you felt like a friend but at the same, it seemed like weren't close enough to be that. We were hovering in the middle of classmates and friends.

I'm pretty sure that you don't think of me the same way I think of you. To you, I'm probably like a pupil. We got along well though. I got to see your cool side through dancing and you also had a shy side too. When you finish performing your freestyle and realize everyone's looking at you in awe, you get so shy. I don't know but I find that so cute.

It was a bit of a pity that I only saw you once every few days a week. I wanted to see you more often and possibly, we could have been dancing buddies too. I've learned to love dance because of you. If only... Sadly, we aren't in the same classes this semester. I sort of predicted it.

The school is pretty big so seeing you isn't easy. Plus, aside from learning dances together and caring for each other as classmates, we didn't have anything special, did we? I mean, whenever you moved my arms while behind me, I'm pretty sure that I was the only one who had my heart racing. Seriously, you shouldn't do that to people! I don't think you're aware of how attractive you are, Soonyoung.

Each time you hover behind me and take my hands or stand behind me to help me adjust my arm's position, I always get flushed with butterflies. Like, you could do it from the front, but the back brings you so much closer to me that I get so flustered. Every. Single. Time.

You're close enough for me to smell your scent, hear your breath, and feel your breath on my neck. It's extremely ticklish too. Do you know that I like you!?

I find it to be a pity that we didn't have any classes together aside from the dance class. If we did, maybe we would have gotten a bit closer to each other. I don't only want romantic relationships that's not even my goal with you. I want to be your friend and dance buddy but we still aren't close enough for that, are we?

So, if I ever happen to bump into you again whether it's in the hallways or by pure coincidence, I don't think I'd be able to say something to you. Sorry, Soonyoung, I'm a coward. I'm constantly driven by the negative thoughts and the possibility that you don't think of me as a friend or dancing buddy but just someone who learned a dance from you. I'm still extremely grateful to you though and I won't care if your true intentions for teaching me were to train yourself. I still like you a lot even though I'm sure it'll fade.

To me, you don't seem like a bad person. You seemed to always be passionate and genuine about dancing. You're kind too. I liked you a lot because you were genuine, passionate, bright, and kind. You were cool, inspiring, and showed me so many new things.

I know this letter to you had mainly just been contaminated with me telling you how grateful I am toward you, but trust me, this is a love letter to you. I did like you. I liked you because you showed me new things and because of all your other qualities. I don't know, I'm a confusing fool.

In the end, we are probably just like strangers to each other, but that's okay. We only spent a semester together, meeting twice a week, so knowing you would have been equal to not enough time anyway. Because I'm sure you probably don't like me the same way I like you, I can rest assured in my head that this letter would just make you proud of yourself. Of course, you should be proud of yourself.

sfdlsdjflksj yes I am a new Deobi now - the surest sign of this is I literally just started a new sideblog for them 😭😭😭 (going to shamelessly plug that it's @l33hyunjaes and setup is a work in progress - and yes, I know I said before that Juyeon was probably my bias but like ... I reallllyyyyyy like Hyunjae HAHAHAHAHAHA and also it was too difficult to come up with a sideblog name for Juyeon that hadn't been used LOL)

I am so not surprised that footballer!Juyeon went viral with Christmassy hahaah the whole MV was truly something out of a fanfic!

I watched the 210812 Thrill Ride MCountdown performance and just!! all the arms on display!!!!!!! And those dang singlets ... (Hyunjae also does a 'call me' gesture and winks at the end and I may or may not have just passed out) and I watched the behind video too and it's just A LOT! But Eric's loose singlet with nothing underneath is doing nothing to help my biaswrecker list haha Also! Hyunjae has very nice arms 👀

Yeah I think Hypnotized is my fave from the Maverick album! There's just something super special about it hehe Nuuuuu that interview with vampire teaser for Drink It??!! What are you doing to me!! Also actor!Juyeon RISE! And yeah Sunwoo's whisper in that! And also in Thrill Ride!! They don't know what they do to me~ And the Maverick and Thrilling albums just keep getting better the more I listen to them! I've also been really enjoying Wings, Spring Snow, Prism (every time they say 'baby girl' I break down huhu) and Clover!

And yep, I watched Kingdom for SKZ - I got into them in late 2020 so still a relatively new-ish Stay, I guess. I apparently have this thing for liking massive groups - first SJ, then SEVENTEEN, then SKZ and now apparently TBZ too! Just counting active members in each group, that would mean that I like 10 + 13 + 8 + 11 = 42 guys ...😭

SJ was the first KPop group that I reallllyyyy actively stanned - there was a school performance for 'International Day' in 2012 and a group of students danced to KPop songs including Sorry Sorry and Gee, and I told one of my friends that I liked Sorry Sorry (she was always saying how much she liked KPop), then she gave me some other song / MV recommendations, and I liked Kyuhyun and Ryeowook's voices a lot. But it wasn't until I watched a KDrama with Donghae that I actually became and ELF and very much Donghae-biased (as of June 2013)!

Oooh yes well, SSTBZ is going well! Currently in Bronze II and I'm managing a total weekly score of about 10m as well. Don't really have many LEs because it's just too hard lol but I am trying for this week's event LE - I've always been a strictly F2P player but I've saved so much money over the last 2 years from working from home during the pandemic that I have decided to splurge a bit and see how paying for event LE packs goes haha. Ommgggg OOC in hard mode ... is awful ... I always just end up spamming! Also Hyunjae was very cutely embarrassed at one point in that video~

And also! The one for the Hyunjae 'Bad at being bad' fic - were Chan's lines about Hyunjae being handsome inspired by that one vlive Chan did? I saw a post about it a few days ago and was like wait! That sounds familiar! Lol I've been rereading some of your fics and I can honestly say they hit different when you become invested in the boys hahaha

Oooooh I also watched an interview with Juyeon and Hyunjae when they did a photoshoot for W and !! Hyunjae's blond (?) hair!!! It was a look ™️

I have no idea if I have a type when it comes to biases lol but I've noticed Eric (one of my current biaswreckers) looks a bit like NCT's Jeno (I like him and Jaemin best there), who looks a bit like Donghae lol Hm I don't really think I have a clear type when it comes to picking biases though ... although I'd be interested to hear what you think? My main biases are SJ's Donghae, SVT's DK and SKZ's Lee Know! (TBZ bias still to be officially confirmed lol) It's a bit funny because I'm currently seeing Juyeon as an objectively handsome guy, and Younghoon seems super sweet, and Eric is really funny but when I see Hyunjae? Kind of thinking that he's the type of guy I want to marry HAHAHAAHHAHAAH 😂😂 Sorry, I'm being very delusional here but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

Love you lots (❣️‿❣️) and I don’t really wanna pressure you to write something that you feel uncomfortable with or just don’t feel like writing .. I did requested a couple of times from the ppl you recommended remember? and since I’m anon to another writer as well and they tried to write with fem idol .. but at the end they were just feeding me hopes and one never happened and the one they write let’s say I could see that .. okay it was a failure (;﹏;) saying as it is ..

Also I am kinda heartbroken… I got disappointed in my ult and I feel sad , but I can’t stop loving them kinda?୧(ಠ⌣ಠ)୨ .. I know nobody is perfect that’s why I cannot support them or just close my eyes on their behaviour even tho I got so attached to her. I don’t know how to stop thinking about her it’s just feels that I am betraying my best friend.. do you know Angel it’s all just an illusion , we aren’t friends and we can choose our idols and make good choices.. even with all of those thoughts in my head it’s still so hard to unbias her.. I keep deleting her pictures from my phone.. still plenty left ..any advice on how to stop liking someone ?

Also I am consuming a lot of information about Korea , K-pop idols and things that are happening behind closed doors and everything just seems fake and disappointing..  people around me just look for an excuse to just ruin my “happy relationship”with kpop… I’m so alone in this , I have nobody to share this love to kpop.. and if I just share anything good like the music video that I like or anything .. people just bring up some downfall or some bad side of Korea or just Koreans in general.. oh I mean for me kpop and all this is my pink bubble and I admit it makes my life better and easier .. but my friends and family around me … just people around me , they think that they have to destroy it like I’m better without it.. I like to share things , show my emotions and happiness and whatever it is .. but seems like I have to learn how to stop showing this .. and as an extravert it’s so hard for me.. 〳 ‾́ ﹏ ‾́ 〵

Aww baby, I know how you're feeling. Who's your ult love? I mean, don't tell me if it makes you uncomfortable, but I know how you must be feeling. We just keep loving and supporting our ults like they're these angels who can never do anything wrong, and while they're actually often good people, that doesn't make them immune to messing up or making mistakes. And if that does happen, it hurts. It hurts real bad, bc it feels like they broke our trust. It might feel like by being hurt, you're "betraying" them, but trust me, that would have been the right way to go even if they were actually your best friend. It's not right to support ANYONE'S ill or problematic behavior, and idols are no exception.

But that doesn't mean you stop believing that they're normal people like you and me, or stop watching them just bc others want to call it an "illusion." Like sure, I know that the closest I'm gonna get to them is through the screen or maybe through a concert one day, but that doesn't give anyone the right to undermine the joy they bring me. Sure, I don't know them personally, but that doesn't mean they haven't helped me more than my own family at times. And it's the same for you, so don't let the words of the people around you be a bother, bc you do you. If they don't take an interest in your likes, then let them be. Save your likes for yourself and yourself only. I know you might want to show them off to the world, bc I do too. But then wait for someone who will accept your likes and dislikes without judging.
