musings because i can’t stop developing cleo
cannot believe i’ve never contemplated how cleo feels about death as a concept. loss is such an important part of her character and yet i’ve never thought about her own relationship with death. i know what i’m pondering tonight boys
i think she’d be scared of dying. really scared. she’s seen it happen to so many people. never once has she wanted to die, but given the opportunity she would’ve taken her sister’s place in a heartbeat. i think that makes her mindset more impactful. she’s been doing everything in her power to survive despite everything.
and she’s so vulnerable compared to her companions. she has to be more careful than them in terms of monitoring her exposure to the infection. because she isn’t like them. if she breathes too much rot she’ll actually fully turn.
blah blah v and jo are physically marked by the infection and serve as persistent terrible reminders that break the veil of normalcy in domestic moments or something like that
cleo has never once wanted to die. she has never stopped trying to survive, and i think that’s why she’s made it so long. she’s gotten lucky sure, but she’s also made decisions in the past that put aside her comfort for her own survival. once the cult wasn’t safe anymore, she fled. she joined v and jo because she felt threatened and because it was objectively safer with them. she has fought, ran, bargained, pleaded, lied, and confessed in situations where it would’ve been easiest and least painful to just gice up and hide away until she starved to death. all to live.
she’s so persistent. that’s one of her best qualities. no matter what happens to her or the world around her she keep going. she will do whatever it takes to keep living.
but god does she need combat training. last time jo tried to rope her into training they ended up playing just dance for 3 hours. they both sucked.
someday i’ll stop needlessly fleshing out this character more. i mean cmon i have her parents professions figured out this is getting ridiculous. she does not have an age tho i didn’t even realize that. because like. when we first made the guys we had like general ages. not like V would like remember and i fully believe that jo would just forget normally. never picked a number. never really settled right. i’d say cleo is no older than 20, since she was in her first year of college at the time of the outbreak iirc. i don’t remember if she ever took a gap year or whatever.
Tumblr media
man please know that she will still try to talk her way out of everything ever (learned skill from cas) despite the first meeting writing done by the lad she was so out of it at that time she was like peak pathetic.
i think she steals normal shit around the base. she deffo stashes food when she first moves in w undeadduo. imagine going to take a shower and u open the towel cabinet and 3 cans of pineapple fall onto your foot in rapid succession.
Tumblr media
zero idea how i missed this. she’s like 18-19 at the start of the apox then. the age i’ll be my first year of college just so i can keep it straight in my head.
picks her up by the back of her cloak like one would scruff a cat. she yells “WOAH WHATS OVER THERE” and you do not fall for it but she kicks you in the balls and hides under the couch.
a lot of these rant posts r me trying to get my character consistent because she changes so much in my brain. i am going to chalk it up to emotional versatility that stems from emotional guy has to oppress emotions for survival
the second she has any space to breathe she’s going to actually lose it
but also like a side effect of developing the fuck out of her is that i feel like i keep front and centering her. but she’s the only character that’s mine so tf else am i supposed to do other than front and center her. i just post a lot sharing pretty much every step of her development and story in these exposition dumps that’s the only difference really.
it’s collaborative so i can’t go and change the world every time i want. but i can think about and develop her because she’s the more independent aspect of the project. i do what i want ig fiwb

Day 17. Monster-kinktober: Full moon + Swallowing/Cock Warming
A/N: Inspired by this post by @davinawritings. Also sorry (not sorry) because I feel like this is the 4th werewolf this month but I just fucking love werewolves. Enjoy!
Werewolf x fem!reader || cock-warming, teasing, oral sex, (lowkey) dirty talk
Your boyfriend usually had an incredible stamina, but full moon fucks were out of this world. You always ended up exhausted and so fucked out you couldn’t sit properly for the next couple days. Thanks the goddess it only happened once a month or you’d be fucked… in a bad way (and in a good way).
That’s why you don’t act surprised when he appears in the door of your home office, a huge erection in his gray sweats and the biggest smile on his lips. He looks obscene like that, your wettest of dreams… and he’s all yours.
“You know I need to prep you so you are ready for the full moon tonight,” he offers as an explanation for his sudden appearance.
“I know you do, but I can’t do it right now, I have work!” You try to argue, just for him to walk to you and pull you off your chair, sitting there himself and then sitting you back onto his lap.
You are still facing the computer, but the cock under your hot center is so hard and tempting that you can’t avoid rolling your hips to create a bit of friction. You groan and curse him for chuckling.
“See? Now you can do both,” he smiles and kisses your neck as you try to focus your attention back to the screen.
His hands pull your legs apart as he starts rubbing your clit slowly over your pants. You try to focus on your work, but you are completely unable to read a single line on the email because he’s so distracting. It’s not your fault that dating a werewolf has turned you into a desperate mess every time his dick was involved. He shouldn’t be so good at it if he wanted you to be normal about it.
“You are distracting me!” He chuckles but doesn’t stop, his fingers pressing hard against your clit through the fabric, so good, but not nearly enough. “Ugh, fine. Let me take the pants off first at least, I don’t want them ripped open like last time.” You tell him, your hand stopping his when he tries to open your pants to slip his hand inside.
He laughs at your acceptance, caressing your ass as soon as you uncover it. Your tiny thong doesn’t get the best of treatments, being ripped away in one fast movement before you can take it off. Fucking wolves.
He keeps moving his hand in the way that drives you completely insane, his fingers probing and touching, rubbing and fingering… You are dripping wet around his hand and trying to respond to the damn email. He doesn’t say anything, but he starts breathing harder and harder behind you, his hips pushing up in tiny thrusts that tease you with the promise of a good dicking.
“I need to work,” you remind him, frustrated in every way possible. Especially sexually.
“Sorry, sorry, I’ll stop. Let me just…” You hear the sound of a zipper being pulled down, and then something pressing against your pussy.
“Don’t you-” Your phrase is cut short when he pushes his dick inside your wet heat and you groan. “Fuck, okay, but don’t move, I need to work.” You remind him, again.
You’ve played cock-warming before, he loves to feel you stretched around him, and loves even more when you fall asleep with him inside of you, so he can fuck you as soon as he wakes up. The little somno fantasy was one of yours, but he indulges in it more than enough.
He kisses your neck tenderly. “Okay, honey, I’ll be quiet and still. Do your thing.”
But he’s neither quiet or still. He moves his hips in tiny circles, he “accidentally” rubs your clit with his thumb with the excuse of readjusting your hips for more comfort. He caresses the insides of your thighs until you are panting, his dick buried inside of you.
When you let out a groan, he chuckles, his finger instantly finding your clit and rubbing it until you are coming apart over him. He doesn’t come, he doesn’t say anything. He just stays inside of you as you try to re-focus on the work.
It takes you twice the amount of time as it should to answer all the emails. You know you won’t be able to focus anymore with him there, especially being a full moon. Without saying anything, you stand up before him, his dick still hard as you turn and look down at him. He looks wild, his eyes unfocused and his dick leaking profusely. He’s feral in the prettiest way possible.
He looks at you with reverence. “Please, please, please, honey… I need, I need…” He doesn’t get to finish his phrase, your brain already knowing exactly what he needs. Your pussy is not ready, but you have other perfectly fine holes, and his dick always tastes better when he’s been inside of you anyway.
You fall to your knees in front of him and smile at his leaking cock, your lips coming around his tip instantly. His hips move imperceptibly under you, trying to remain as still as possible as you suck him slowly, drawing his pleasure until he has tears in his eyes and you feel like a goddess. He doesn’t say anything, tries to remain in his best behaviour as you swallow around him, making him moan your name in a filthy way.
“Do you… Can I? Are you gonna swallow, honey?” He asks.
You nod around his shaft, your hand squeezing on his knot as he cries out over your head and spills his seed deep in your throat, making you choke slightly and pull out. It always amazes you how much he can come during the full moon. He ends up coming all over your chin and tits, making a mess out of you (like always).
“Fuck, you look indecent like that,” he says in the most broken way he can muster. You smile, your tongue darting out to lick some of his come out of your lower lip. He groans and picks you up, throwing you over his shoulder and walking you to the bed, his dick hard once again.
Full moon days are awesome.
(You don’t get to go out and run under the full moon because by that time, your pussy is already overflowing with his seed and you are so exhausted you pass out… with his cock still inside of you.)

parings: matt x fem!reader
warnings: SMUT, mdni!!, cheating(i do not condone this), oral receiving, p in v, yea you know already..
summary: matt can’t keep his hands off of his friend, knowing she has a boyfriend. he tries to forget her but she keeps making an appearance.
lowkey inspired by tell your girlfriend by lay bankz
{the bf in this has a random name}
Tumblr media
the first
being around the triplets since her junior year of high school created a close bond. nick being the one who introduced himself to her, seeing her alone sitting in the cafeteria mindlessly scrolling through nothing wanting to be anywhere but that place.
ever since, they’ve treated her like another sibling from what she thought.
“hi guys!” she exclaimed, walking up the stairs of their home. “this is my boyfriend, kian!”
a boy followed behind her appearing after coming up the stairs.
“y/n! hey, kian, i’ve heard so much about you!” nick came over to greet. she gave him a ‘stfu’ look, remembering all the facetime calls and snaps about her drooling over him.
“yoo! i’m chris, nice to meet you.” the pair joined matt on the couch where he greeted them with a smile.
“this is matt! he’s shy.” she poked introducing him.
“i’m not!”
“yea, even knowing them for years, i could tell them apart from the moment i met them.” she added to the conversation.
they were all sat at a table at top golf, eating and talking about things that made the others around them glare.
“i mean, there’s definitely features that y’all share, but i can tell-“ kian was interrupted by his phone loudly ringing. “my fault, excuse me.” turning away in his seat to not intrude on the side conversations as he answered the call.
the others remained talking about their looks and making inappropriate comments and jokes.
“sorry y/n, i have to go. my brothers car broke down again and he’s stranded.” kian explained gathering his belongings.
“again? he really needs to retire ol’ reliable. but that’s fine, just let me know when you get situated!” she replied receiving a hug and kiss on the forehead.
“it was real cool meeting you guys!” he farewelled, leaving the area after receiving goodbyes.
“wait.. now i have to uber home!”
“girl, you know you’re welcome to stay the night at ours if you want to.” nick reminded his friend as he wiped him mouth with a napkin. she smiled and nodded agreeing to his offer.
“you’re still hungry after all you ate at top golf?” matt teased at chris who was devouring the microwaved popcorn in his lap as the brothers sat around the living room with their friend as a movie lit up the room.
“mind your business!” chris remarked with a full mouth, throwing a handful in his direction accidentally hitting the girl beside matt.
“dude!” she screeched. he covered his mouth and looked away trying to play it off.
she poked matt quietly giggling as she pointed to nick on the loveseat who was fast asleep. chris took notice as well, laughing and decided to throw his snack at him.
nick jumped awake, searching for what just hit him. “chris- i swear! can’t even rest my eyes around you.”
nick stood up with the blanket wrapped around him.
“i’m gonna go lay down, y/n you can come in when you’re ready.” with that disappearing to his bedroom.
eventually, after finishing his snack, chris went to bed after the movie finished. matt glanced at his friend who was indulged in her phone.
“how aren’t you tired yet?” he asked.
“oh trust me i am.” she put her phone down and rubbed her eyes. he smiled, quickly looking away. she got up, making her way to nicks bedroom before quietly shouting, “night, matt!”
reaching nicks door, she softly turned the knob incase he was already asleep. the knob became stiff and wouldn’t turn fully. it was locked.
confused, she assumed nick just wanted to sleep.
the lights in the living room were off. she thought about going to chris but soon remembered he was most definitely knocked out.
matt couldn’t have been asleep that quickly. she tip toed to his door, lightly patting on the door. almost immediately it opened revealing matt in just his underwear. his eyes became wide unexpecting her to be at his door.
“um.. nicks door is locked. can i sleep with you?”
it wasn’t unusual, they all slept in the same bed once when their manager had messed up their hotel booking. this time matt felt different.
“sure, cmon..” he let her in the room. going straight for the bed, she layed down on the left side getting under the covers as he joined her with a slight dip in the bed.
the room was silent. the blowing of the air conditioner and occasional traffic noise cutting the silence. she trembled from the coldness even under the thick comforter.
she didn’t even know her actions were obvious until matt spoke, “you cold?” with a slight chuckle in his voice.
“a little- sorry.” she whispered turning to face him. “i usually cuddle with my plushies at home, don’t judge.”
his breathing picked up suddenly as he thought about his next question.
“do you wanna.. um- cuddle with me?”
she hesitated, but thought it was a good idea so she shifted closer indicating agreement. he wrapped his arms around her gently, taking in the various smells of expensive shampoo and sweet perfume. her head lied under his chin smothered into his chest, hearing his rapid heartbeat.
neither of them knew why their anxiety skyrocketed in the moment.
he couldn’t help but notice the subtle lighting from his window glistening on her face. it was so faint, he didn’t even realize she was staring at his gaze.
thank goodness for the angle, otherwise she would see his pink washed cheeks from embarrassment as he looked away. she tilted her head upwards, grinning as he drew his focus back to her, admiring her distinguished features.
something sprung his confidence strong enough to overpower the racing of his heart as he placed a hand under her chin, bringing her face closer. she didn’t react, assuming she was okay with the actions, he placed his lips onto hers.
the kiss was soft and loving. it almost felt like electricity through their bodies. she didn’t even think she liked him. maybe she just ignored the feeling, knowing his popularity wouldn’t allow them to form a decent relationship. she felt grateful enough to be as close with him and his brothers. forcing herself onto them was never the intention.
matt on the other hand knew from the start. they way she showed no deeper interest made him hesitant. he loved her personality and how she was introverted. it was easy to talk to her. once she announced her new relationship, his heart stung knowing he’d lost his opportunity.
she pulled back first. he thought he’d fucked up.
“i’m- im so sorry, y/n..” she was still in his embrace, not tense but comfortable and safe. he was confused.
“it’s okay. goodnight matt” she smiled and nestled into his chest.
he knew he wasn’t gonna get any ounce of sleep after that.
“chris! go get some napkin, i am not cleaning this up!” nicks voice was loud enough to wake matt up after hazily falling asleep a few hours later.
he had forgotten for not much longer about what had happened when he realized y/n wasn’t in his bed. he checked his phone on his nightstand seeing it was noon.
“where’s y/n?” he made his way to the kitchen where nick sat on his laptop while chris was soaking up an orange liquid off the counter with paper towels, seemingly close to nicks workspace.
“goodmorning to you too, matt!” chris mocked.
“she left early this morning. went to breakfast with kian to make up for yesterday or something. she didn’t tell you?” nick spoke not looking up from his screen.
matt leaned his body over the counter, “no- she slept in my room last night, since you were sleeping.” he felt a hot flash in his body remembering the moment before you fell asleep.
nick finally looked matt in the eye, “i wasn’t sleeping? i waited for her and she never came.”
“what? she said your door was locked!” he grew confused. did she lie? no she couldn’t have, it’s not like she meant to sleep in his room.
nick stood quiet for a few seconds. his face displaying confusion as if he was trying to solve the hardest equation ever. he grew excited once he figured out the answer.
“oh! i must’ve forgot to unlock it after i changed.” he exclaimed as calmly as he could.
“dude!”
matt thought he was angry for a second. this whole situation could’ve been avoided. was it a good thing? did he ruin everything?
the fall
“happy birthday dear y/n, happy birthday to you!”
her friends were gathered around the kitchen island of her cozy apartment. kian planned a small surprise get together for her birthday since she was far from her family and would celebrate with them separately.
she thanked the group and blew out the gold number candles as she cheered for herself gaining giggles from around her.
she went about the room, hugging each of her guest and thanking them for being there. once she got to the triplets she embraced them individually as she got to matt and he stopped her.
“y/n, i got you something- i think you should open it right away” he held a pink box with a white ribbon. it was oddly shaped and seemed fragile so she had him bring it over to her small brown sofa.
he placed it on the seat before sitting opposite to her to watch her reaction. the other brothers followed along standing over her to see what was inside.
she slowly pulled the ribbon until matt spoke, “i really hope it’s not too much, i just know you’ve been wanting one for this longest..”
the flaps lifted on their own as she jumped back, revealing a small gray kitten with green eyes.
her jaw dropped as her eyes began to water with joy. “no- you didn’t!” lifting the kitten free from the box. “matt! you’re unbelievable!” she pushed the container to the rug and moved closer to hug him.
“you’ve been posting a lot about wanting a kitten and i really didn’t know what else to get you- oh, and he’s a boy by the way..” he laughed watching her childlike expression.
“kian! come look what matt got me!” she called for her boyfriend who was chatting with some of their mutual friends. he made his way over as she held the kitten up in the air.
matt’s heart sunk slightly as she shared her happiness with kian instead of him.
no one was paying attention to nick and chris’s shocked reactions.
“aww, how cute.. damn i kinda look like a shitty boyfriend now!” kian joked obviously as she giggled along with him.
“what’s wrong?” she looked to the two brothers who were still confused.
“we had no idea he was getting you that!” chris mentioned as nick agreed.
“honestly, i didn’t want you guys to ruin the surprise with your big mouths!” matt argued playfully.
the night grew old as the guest died down leaving just the triplets and kian in her apartment. it wasn’t long until kian bid farewell explaining his early morning work schedule.
she already changed into plaid pajama pants and a white tank sweatshirt as she curled up on the couch petting her new addition.
“still not over this!” she referred to her present.
matt grinned feeling warm and accomplished knowing he made her happy. he couldn’t help but watch as she stroked the bundle of fur, giggling at each movement he made.
each person in the room jumped as a sudden clap of thunder roared. the rain was unexpected and loud enough to tell it was dangerous driving conditions.
“guys, you can’t drive in that. it’s storming,” her voice was of concern. “just wait until it dies down.”
just as she spoke the room became black as everything went silent. the power went out.
“shit! that scared the hell out of me.” nick yelled from his place on the couch.
“dude it’s freezing in here!” chris complained, although he wore the most layers than anyone preset. she had an idea.
“i’ll go get us blankets.” standing and turning her phones flashlight on.
“i’ll come help you..” a voice behind her spike as she shined the light right into his face making him cover his eyes.
“thanks, matt! chris hold my kitty.” she placed the kitten on his lap with no warning. he giggled at her choice of words as nick scoffed.
“okay, do you think that’s good enough?” matt was holding atleast 10 blankets in various fabrics and materials.
“definitely- why do you even have so many?” matt asked struggling to balance them all.
“i’m just a girl, don’t ask me!” she closed the closet door when her flashlight turned off on its own. she stumbled to find her phone before tripping over it on the floor, falling into matt causing him to drop all the blankets. they both landed on the bed not being too far a distance from the closet.
“i- ow, i’m sorry..” she apologized.
a flash of lighting shined into the bedroom window giving them both a view of each others face.
matt felt the familiar feeling in his chest, as well as a new one in his pants. she was lying right on top of him.
this time it was her who initiated it.
leaning in, she pressed a kiss to his lips to see his reaction.
he was taken back but knew what he wanted. he gripped her waist lifting her off of him and placing her fully on the bed. this time he placed his weight over top of her gently and moved his lips onto hers.
the kiss was different this time.
instead of loving and warm, it was lustful and rough.
it didn’t stop there, she wrapped her legs around him pulling his hips to hers. she felt his crotch solid against hers as he grinded into her.
they were so hungry for eachother they didn’t notice the light pattering of little paws stumble into the room.
continuing to make out, matt tugged on her tank top begging for it to come off. just before she started lifting her arms for him to remove it, larger footsteps entered the dark room along with a hushed voice.
“shadow- come back!”
matt leaped onto his feet after hearing his brothers voice. light beamed into the room as chris walked in flashing his phones light to find the kitten that hopped off his lap to explore his new home.
“there you are! oh- and there you are too” chris aimed the light to his brother and friend who was sitting on her bed. the blankets were scattered on the floor, but it was too dark for chris to realize.
“did- did you just name my cat?” she asked remembering him calling for shadow.
“i mean.. it’s fitting..” he said picking up the small feline.
“i love that! his name is shadow.” she cheered walking over to pet the kitten as if nothing happened. she didn’t want to act suspicious so she quickly changed her demeanor while matt stood frozen in his place unsatisfied.
a buzzing sound took place as the lights began to flicker back on along with the air system.
nick could be heard shouting in relief in the living room. “well.. i guess that’s our cue.” chris joked walking out the bedroom after handing y/n her kitten.
she glanced at matt, a soft expression on her face. he was flushed with red cheeks and puffy lips, his hair messy. she decided to walk out the room, leaving the awkward silence as he followed behind her.
“okay, i’ll see you boys soon- text me when you get home!” she demanded watching them collect themselves ready to head out.
chris and nick were already out the door just when matt was leaving when she called, “matt!” he turned with sudden movement, “hm?” he responded.
“um.. thanks.. for shadow” hesitating at her words.
he nodded. a grin forming on his face as he quickly turned away to leave her apartment.
the following
ding
the chime of her phone was loud and the light lit up the room. she was a light sleeper, but she always made sure her phone ringer was on full volume at night, in case of emergencies.
groaning, she turned on her side. grabbing her phone from her nightstand to check as shadow moved away from her chest to lay down at the foot of the bed, annoyed at the movements she was making.
matty: y/n?
she grew fully conscious seeing a text from him. eyes flickering to the left corner reading 3:15AM.
:yes?
the message bubble popped up almost immediately after being read.
matty: can we talk
she knew this would come eventually. though she wasn’t quite sure what part he wanted to discuss. it’s been 3 days since her birthday. 3 days since the incident in her room. the room she was currently in, on the bed she was currently laying on.
:??
matty: about thursday y/n
she sighed.
: matt it was a mistake
matty: in person
matty: can we talk in person
:it’s 3am
matty: i’ll come get you
matty: please
matty: i can’t sleep
she felt guilty. he couldn’t sleep, too busy having her run through his mind. she was tired, but if she didn’t settle this now, it would ruin everything.
: alright fine
the time flew by quickly. she found herself in an oversized gray hoodie, waiting for his text. it was long enough to cover her down to her knees, so she didn’t bother wearing pants thinking it would be a quick chat in the car.
headlights shined through her window before she received a message telling her matt had arrived.
she grabbed shadow and held him close, his little bell chiming as she bounced with each step down her apartment complex stairs. he was too young to be left alone, and who knows how long this talk would be.
the car door opened as matt nearly broke his neck to see her coming in.
“hey.. it’s cool if we go to my place?” he suggested, reaching over to pet shadow who was on her lap.
she wasn’t expecting a trip. nor did she dress for one. but it was a better idea than staying out in a car at 3AM. she nodded.
the drive was silent besides the radio playing lowly.
he let her in. “let’s go to my room- nick and chris are asleep,” whispering as he placed a hand on her back making her shudder.
matt and y/n were sat in the red sheets of his bed. shadow never left her lap, afraid of being in a new house.
“y/n.. i r-”
“it was a mistake, matt.” she assured him sternly. why did she feel like crying? she loved kian. though she was forcing herself to think about him in that moment.
“i don’t think it was.. i don’t think it was a mistake” matt pleaded. his voice was low but his tone made her swallow a her feelings down.
it was quiet.
“i love him-“ she chocked.
he shifted closer to her causing shadow to scurry off the bed.
“i.. i know.. but i can’t help it y/n, i want you.. crave you.” his tone softened as he cupped her face.
her eyes were glossy staring into his as he brushed his nose against hers wanting more.
she did it again.
it was her who pushed her lips to his. moving slowly with rhythm. now it was different again. this time they both felt careless. kian was far back in her mind, ignoring any thoughts of him.
matt was in a rush. he moved in front of her making her lay back. it was like her birthday all over again. he hovered over her between her legs, not asking this time and pulling her hoodie over her body.
he pulled back a little shocked as he scanned her figure in just a bra and panties. pupils enlarged with lust as he felt himself stiffen in his sweatpants.
she was flustered feeling so exposed to him. tugging at his clothing now, begging for his exposure so she wasn’t the only one.
he leaned back and undressed fully.
she was going crazy. he looked down her figure to her clothed heat, glancing back at her glistening eyes as he moved down on the bed. he was positioned between her legs, face above her area.
“can i..?” he asked, warm breath against her thighs as he gripped them.
“mhmm” she hummed eagerly.
he buried his head in her legs leaving kisses and bite marks all over. he slid his finger over her panties feeling her folds through the thin material.
he felt his nerves in his stomach, unsure if he really wanted this. he knew he did, but the thought of her ghosting him for kian raced his mind as he sat there hesitantly.
shadows bell snapped him out of his thoughts as he realized where he was. he knew he had to fall through, this was his only chance.
he hooked his fingers onto the waistband of her underwear, sliding it down her legs painfully slow.
placing them next to her, he moved her legs up spreading them wide.
she was sweating from the anticipation when he used two fingers to spread her folds, dragging his tongue from her entrance to her clit.
he sucked on the sensitive spot gaining a moan from the back of her throat.
“shhh, nick and chris are asleep..” he hushed. “you don’t want me to stop, do you?”
her head shook vigorously as she covered her mouth. he dove back in, continuing his previous actions. she whined behind her hand.
he removed a hand from her leg and sucked on his middle and ring finger before sliding them into her hole. he groaned at how tight she felt just on his fingers.
pushing them in, he licked her clit in circles quickly making her arch her back and roll her eyes. helpless to the whimpers that escaped her vocal cords muffled from her hand.
“‘s so good, baby- fuck” he grumbled against her setting her on edge.
her legs trembled and squeezed his head near suffocating him. she grasped the bed sheets tightly and her mouth flew open with no sound coming out.
he shook his head in a fast motion in between her legs helping her ride out her orgasm.
panting and trying to catch her breath when he came back up to hover over her body and kissed her with her own juices all over his face.
she pushed him away, forcing him to lay on his back and climbing over to straddle him. taking hold of his dick and aligning it with her entrance as he watched with his bottom lip between his teeth.
she sunk down with a whine. his eye brows furrowed at the tightness around his member and groaned.
“holy sh-” he could barley get out as she bounced herself on him.
they tried so hard to be quiet during the whole experience but couldn’t help letting out a few moans here and there. the bed was creaking with her movements. he felt his core heat up while his dick started to tingle with sensation as he lifted his hips harder into her.
he knew it wouldn’t be right to cum inside of her when she was with someone. she wasn’t his after all.
but the way he was feeling he couldn’t stop.
he threw his head back on his pillows letting out shaky breaths and grunts as he emptied his load into her feeling her clench around him.
she slowed her movements after realizing what he’d done. finally climbing off of him and laying down next to him.
it felt.. weird.
not awkward, but not wrong either. matt slowly got up from the bed and into the connected bathroom. she watched as the light flicked on and the sink ran.
he came back out with a white rag in his hand, “open,” he demanded getting closer to her legs as she bent her knees to spread them. he cleaned her up as well as himself.
when he went to toss the rag in his sink, he came back out to see her covered in his sheets fast asleep, shadow already curled up by her chest.
he admired how she looked so peaceful even after the unholy events that just took place.
he joined her carefully in bed, exhaustively forcing himself to fall asleep before he regretted what happened.
“yo, matt have you-” the door to matt’s room busted open as the pair in bed jumped out of their sleep snapping to the commotion. sunlight took over as they realized it was the next day. “y/n?”
chris was stood in the door frame. luckily she was fully covered by the blanket for him to see she was only in her under garments and gain suspicion.
“bro- what! what do you need?!” matt’s voice was mixed with annoyance and fear, a little embarrassed that chris came in the room.
“i was looking for my blue hoodie, but what’s up, y/n?” he seemed concerned at the fact she stayed the night, something she would do with nick when she was going through something.
“yea- i, um-”
“it’s behind the door man- her air wasn’t working in her apartment so i brought her over last night without waking you or nick” matt made up a story shooing chris away.
“ohhh- shadow!” he spotted the gray kitten who was now on the floor after hiding when chris scared them.
“dude- go!” matt shouted, still tired in his voice.
chris scoffed leaving the room when he took his hoodie from the rack behind the door, slamming it shut. he was definitely going to nicks room to tell him y/n was there.
the pair looked to eachother. she looked away to find her phone on the nightstand checking to see the time was past noon.
“shit! i have to go..” she almost tripped over her own feet trying to find her clothes not remembering she showed up in just a hoodie.
“wait- let me give you a ride,” matt insisted.
“it’s fine, um.. kians picking me up..” she tried to whisper but it was loud and clear.
matt’s heart sunk. he didn’t know why, he should’ve expected her to go back to him after this but he wanted so badly for her to just forget him and stay.
he didn’t say anything while she gathered shadow and gave matt a quick hug, something she always did before she left their home, and walked out.
it’s been 6 days. no texts. no calls. not even a post on social media.
he hadn’t heard from her at all. he didn’t wanna intrude either. his heart kept telling him to call her, call her and tell her to just love him, not kian.
but he knew better.
or did he? because he found himself driving to her apartment.
the whole ride he wanted to throw up. he was so nervous and didn’t know why. he pulled up to her complex, seeing the parking spaces in front of her building were empty besides her car that he recognized. it was still early afternoon and people were at work. but there was on car. he payed no mind to it, pulling into the spot next to hers.
he sat in the car a few minutes to collect himself.
mentally hyping himself up and making his way to the door, he pressed the buzzer.
nothing.
he tried again, sure he had the right one.
finally hearing the clicks of the lock, the door slowly creaked open revealing her face.
“oh.. what’s wrong?” her voice was a bit hoarse yet filled with confusion.
“i-i missed you..”
she leaned against the wall, her body came into frame enough for him to see she was wrapped in a blanket. clear that nothing was underneath.
“matt, i’m a little busy-“
“who is it, babe?” a voice echoed in her apartment.
matt wanted to break down when he recognized the voice. it made sense now. the other car was kians.
“you should go..” she whispered. he peered over her head seeing shadow stop in his tracks while walking through the living room and stare at him.
matt nodded. he felt crushed and defeated.
maybe he should just let go.
the finale
“hello?” matt answered a facetime call from his brother.
“heyyy, you good?” chris asked.
him and nick went to a party while matt stayed home.
“yeah i’m fine” he had a little attitude in his voice.
he had a rough week. after he left y/ns apartment, he cried in his room. he couldn’t hold it in anymore. he hated how she loved kian and not him. he wished he wasn’t too late. he wished he told her how he felt before she got with him. then fucking her just made him more attached.
“matt?” nick said through the phone, music blared loudly in the background. he snapped out of it.
“what?”
“i asked if you wanted us to bring you fo- oh look who it is!” nick was interrupted, seen hugging someone in frame. a small girl. oh great it was her.
he wanted to just hang up until chris pointed the phone at her. she turned to see matt on the screen.
she almost punched chris in the arm. she felt disgusting. she knew what she did and she knew it was wrong. she couldn’t stand to see him and it wasn’t his fault.
“hi, matt..” she tried to sound as polite at she could but it came out a bit shallow.
all he did was nod his head in return. seeing she went off with nick, he told chris he was going to sleep and to not bother him before hanging up.
“girl- be quiet, i think matt is sleeping,” nick whisper-yelled. matt could hear him from his room. he ignored it knowing he would probably bring a friend home from the party. he went to back to sleep.
he woke up again. this time feeling hungry.
he didn’t bother checking the time, it was still dark out. he made his way down the hall until he bumped into something hard, jumping when he realized it was a person.
“ow- sorry,” he heard a girly voice from the darkness. a sudden light beamed as she turned on her phone flashlight. it was y/n.
he almost gasped in her face. her eyes went wide.
“i’m sorry, i was just going to pee..” she explained. still standing in front of him.
neither of them moved, just staring at eachother.
he couldn’t take it anymore. he grabbed her waist and pressed her against the wall of the hallway, kissing her passionately.
her arms wrapped around his neck.
why did she keep doing this..
matt dragged her by her hips to his room, pushing her to the bed as he shut the door. she tossed her phone somewhere on the bed, he was already in just his underwear from when he went to sleep so he forcefully removed the shirt she had on that belonged to nick.
he was on top of her now, sucking on her neck sure to leave marks. he was fed up with the games she would play.
this time he didn’t care, he was rough and demanding. “turn around, ass up”
she waited as she contemplated her movements. not for long when he raised his voice, “now!”
she jumped, getting into the position where her bare chest was squished into the mattress. she could feel his fingers roam her area until he pushed two digits into her hole making her gasp.
he smacked her ass while he fingered her, the slippery sounds as she clenched around them. he pulled his hand away and used her juices to coat his dick as a lubricant. he pumped a few times grunting at the wet feeling.
she sat in anticipation until feeling his tip finding its way to her entrance, he slowly pushed in once found.
“matt- please!” she moaned into the sheets.
he smirked and slammed fully into her gaining a moan from both their mouths. the feeling of him in her lower abdomen had her nearly screaming, if it wasn’t for nick and chris being home.
the sound of wet skin slapping against eachother filled the room as matt thrusted into her from the back at a fast pace.
suddenly the sounds of a electric tune caused them both to flinch while her phone lit up indicating a call. she wanted to just ignore it. matt leaned over her body to see who it was as his breath hitched in his throat nearly making him choke on his own saliva.
he seen a photo of y/n and kian cuddled up on the screen along with his name flashing with a heart emoji next to it.
“pick it up.” he demanded. was he insane? maybe just a little. feeling euphoric in the moment he didn’t care if kian found out, he kinda wanted him to.
she ignored him and pushed her hips backward trying to get him to continue but he pulled out fully.
she reached for her phone sliding the call button over.
“hello..” she whispered.
kians voice could be heard over the silent room. “hey- you alright? why do you sound like that?”
matt didn’t know if he was pissed or jealous. probably both as he decided to push back into her while she was on the phone.
she held her breath, “i- i’m just tired-“ she let out while matt was pounding into her. she clicked the mute button on the call.
“oh, how was the party? you’re at the triplets house i see” kian noted as he checked her shared location before calling. he just wanted to check on her and make sure everything was good. nothing was wrong about that but what was wrong is she was being unfaithful on the other line. even worse, she enjoyed it.
clicking to unmute, “mm- it was good- it was good i had fun and yea- i’m here,” she drew out trying not to sound too wasted in matt.
she felt her core growing tighter with each blow knowing she was close. she hit mute before his next line.
matt grew impatient, gripping her ass intensely digging his nails in making her whimper, “tell him, y/n”
something about his words made her feral, her eyes rolling back.
“that’s good. i’m glad you have such good friends that’ll take care of you,” kian spoke. oh they took care of her that’s for sure.
“tell him” matt repeated in a more demanding tone, “tell him how good i make you feel”
still thrusting into her, she couldn’t take it much longer feeling the knot about to snap inside of her.
“you there?” kian asked with a yawn.
she unmuted finally, “yes! yes- i’m sorry- i’m so- so tired” stuttering while holding back moans.
“alright i’ll let you go, i love you”
she almost didn’t make her words out in time, “i love you too” hanging up immediately as her orgasm washed over, making her moan loudly and tremble beneath his touch.
he did the same, pulling out right before his load spurted out on her back and ass, dripping down her legs. they both were panting and sweating.
neither of them moved.
“i’m sorry..” her voice cracked with each syllable, “but i can’t..”

wc: 1.9k content warning: smut, post-time skip, established relationship, shower sex, small mention of slapping, oral (m!receiving), reader x kiyoomi sakusa, oneshot, not proofread
note: to be honest. this plot and like little scenario has BEEN simmering in my mind since like 2020 LMFAO i jsut never started writing until this summer..
ꕮ * ׂ.﹑
It was currently 7:33 PM, and the other day you invited your boyfriend, Kiyoomi Sakusa, to sleep over at your place for the night since he’s got volleyball practice near where you resided. He’s supposed to arrive around eight which is usually the time he gets out.
Twenty-seven minutes.. Good amount of time for an everything shower before he gets here, you thought to yourself. You’re grabbing the cute pjs you saved to wear for the night you invited him over, along with a pair of some lacy panties to add with your sleepwear if things get a bit intimate.
The cold bathroom air hits your face when you twist open the knob and set your clothes on the marble counter. Turning on the water, as you wait for it to get warmer you start stripping yourself naked before hopping in and closing the glass door.
You do the usual routine starting with double shampooing, a nice and hydrating hair mask, wash it off before letting your condition sit in your hair. Despite hearing all of the water shooting down onto you and the hitting the tiles, you heard something else from another part of your house. The front door. Someone got into your house. Fuck.. Is this gonna end up like that one movie where that girl dies in the bathroom?? Keep in mind, you lived alone. The door creaked to a close when you heard a heavy thud and footsteps heading towards the noise you created in the bathroom.
You were just halfway into your everything shower when you saw the doorknob move side to side through the glass walls of your shower. The clunk of your handle slowly twisted the door open, from outside you’re staring at an eye that pierced back at you to which you knew who it was. Oh thank god, It’s just Kiyoomi!! Sighing in relief before you realized you’re completely left exposed, vulnerable and completely wet, trying to hastily cover up with just your hands.
“O-Oh.. I’m sorry” his husky voices mutters out, realizing you’re helpless naked and showering while he slams the door shut in awkwardness, still standing right outside. Both of you were in a bit of shock at the sudden interaction, the tension rose to its high even though you were separated by the door.
“Wait Omi! Do you… wanna join me? You just got back from practice so you must be feeling really sweaty and gross right now!” peering your head out of the glass door to stare back at the blank wall that’s dividing you two. His head hung back up to ask through the walls if it was okay, to which you obliged.
He creaks back open a sliver while asking you to excuse him for his intrusion. His tall muscular body walks in, dark eyes wide open, face slightly flushed and tried their hardest to resist seeing your bare figure covered with the sheen layer of water that glistened with every movement.
Kiyoomi brought in his clothing and set it aside next to yours as he began to undress in front of you, to which you watched from the corner of your eye while he strips his articles of clothing one by one. His lean long torso, and toned arms left you salivating. Especially when he slid down his boxers to reveal that he already had an erection that coiled out, a large and tall one at that, leaving you in shock while he’s a bit ashamed.
“I can’t help myself.” He’s standing face to face with you with the glass shower somewhat opened, looking down at you and your perky, shiny breasts. You let out a subtle giggle as you grabbed his hand to lead him in the shower with you. His deep black curls, saturated and drooped down as the water catches onto his thick hair.
Turning around to face the showerhead as you wash out the conditioner that was in your hair for a while, you felt Kiyoomi’s large hands hover around your slick waist. His head, in the crook of your neck planting a soft peck on your jaw. You felt his bare cock press and increase in size along the curve of your ass.
“Did you miss me at practice, Omi?” you could feel his mouth form into a small grin along your neck. He’s gradually sliding his dick up and down on the crevice of your ass, as he nods into you. One of his hands let go from your waist and slide up to your boob, feeling it up and flicking around your nipple as you let out small whines from his cheeky antics.
“How’d you know?” he’s moving his hand up from your nipple to your chin to position you for a kiss on the lips as you gaze back at his eyes that’re filled to the brim with lust and desire. The tapping sounds coming from the water hitting onto you two and the floor made it inaudible when you and Kiyoomi started to full on make out in the shower.
His hand on your waist eventually slid down to your slippery clit, rubbing it in slow sensational circles while you continue to receive his loving, sloppy kisses that enhanced your experience. You were the first to pull away from him to catch your breath while you turned around and kneeled in front of him to face his raging boner. He’s flushed to a rosy pink hue as you started to stroke his cock aggressively since the water made it easier to slide your fingers around his dick.
“Shit.. if you do that, I don’t know what I’m gonna end up doing with you.” His thumb reaches down once more, but to open your mouth while your undivided attention was set on him as he’s toying with your warm tongue that swirls around his calloused digit. When he took out his thumb from your slobbering mouth was when you started going down on his length.
The warmth your mouth provided him was overwhelming, his hot breathless puffs ringing in the little heated glass room and mixed with the humidity. The amount of slick your cunt produced kept getting washed down by the water, but sucking him off made you feral and crave him even more as you bobbed your head repeatedly on it. His long fingers were buried in your sopping wet hair as he held your head to use your mouth like his own personal flesh toy.
His dick twitched like crazy in your mouth from the unbearable pleasure that he had to pull out before he came in your mouth. But you absolutely refused, you wanted all of his release in your mouth.
“Ha.. you’re kidding me…” he snickered whilst holding eye contact with you, your eyes penetrated his while he pumped his warm gooey cum into your mouth before taking it out while he watched you swallow it all down. Sticking your tongue out to playfully taunt him, he can’t help but snicker at how you just took it all like that down your throat.
“Put it in please, I can’t wait any longer Omi.. it’s been so long since you’ve been back” stepping closer to the glass wall of the shower, your hands spread across the glass that fogged, ass sticking out with the water shimmering as it runs down your back, your head is turnt to peep at him with eyes that begged with sin.
“You’ll get what you want.” Kiyoomi splashed behind you as he closes in between the gap, his hands gripping your hips to get closer to his. You watch impatiently from behind as he’s lining up his tip with your slick entrance, the water making it a bit slippery before you felt your hole widen as his head presses into you, letting out an immense moan that rippled along the walls.
“O-Omi..!” Moaning out his name as he starts to thrust his size into you, creating banging sounds that recoiled with the water that hits from above.
The side of your face pressed against the shower to watch him at work drilling into your pussy with all the wet squelching that echoed and mixed with sounds of the downpour. Your tits were pressed against the glass and moved whenever he pounded into you, creating foggy looking silhouettes around you. The shadows and your nipples squished around, as you’re able to watch this all go down in the mirror across from you.
His tightening grip was bruising, but you loved it. You also loved whenever he lands a finishing strike across your ass that stings a bright red on your cheek as if your ass was a volleyball that he spiked. Your whimpers and that lewd look on your face powers him further to fuck you even harder. Whenever you call out for him, he can’t help himself but pick up the pace to pleasure you even further.
Kiyoomi’s watching you get pounded by him in the mirror, enjoying every second of it. His soaking wet hair brushes against your skin whenever he peppers kisses along your back, while he smells the scent of clean soap wash off your body the more he pounds into you.
“You feel so fucking good you know that?” You babble out words that you couldn’t even make out the moment your slurred speech comes out of your mouth. Your hand reaches down for your clit to stimulate you further to get closer to your release which he noticed. Kiyoomi’s quick to grab ahold of your hand and keep it pressed against the glass as he continues to groan into your ear, saying you don’t need to do that when you’ve got him.
“M’not letting you cum alone.” Kiyoomi pauses for a brief moment before taking out his cock from your gaping hole, causing you to whimper from feeling so empty without him being in you.
When you turn around to face him with a slight pout on your face, he picks you up and slams you against the cold glass. Awoken from the mind numbing pleasure, your headspace is in for a slight shock when his slightly swollen lips meet yours for another long kiss as if he were a starved animal.
He’s backing away to slip back in his throbbing cock into your dripping entrance as he’s pressing your back further onto the glass walls of your shower. Kiyoomi’s holding onto you so tight, not letting you go anywhere as he continues to fuck you brainless, feeling all the sensations when your bodies continue to rub up against each other.
His twitching dick and your throbbing cunt, the lust in the atmosphere, the sounds that echo off your wet bodies as the shower runs, Kiyoomi’s almost at his end point. Both of you are sore and stimulated to the max as he releases his white cum into you, coating your plush gummy walls with his white paint. You’re both still, trying to pick back up your unmatched breathing.
“I’m sorry.. I got carried away,” he’s panting while pulling out, kissing your forehead as a gesture to ask for your forgiveness as you continue to cling onto his broad shoulders.
His essence seeps out of you and drips onto the bathroom tiles as it gets washed away due to the warm running water. You’re trying to regain your composure as he continues to hold you in his arms, Kiyoomi’s fingers moving away the stray wet hairs that clung onto your forehead while looking into your starry, but droopy eyes peer back into his while you mumble out an it’s okay.
“You’re too beautiful” he whispers to you before setting you down to help finish washing you up before bed.

HIS MOUTH presses against hers with an intensity that makes Dani stiffen. Beau kisses her with a hunger that she doesn’t feel, his hands cupping her face, fingers in her hair, deepening it. His lips are rough, insistent, like he’s trying to draw something out of her that she doesn’t want to give.
Dani kisses him back because she knows she should. She tries to match his urgency, his need. But it feels all wrong, like she’s wearing someone else’s skin. Her heart isn’t in the kiss, isn’t with Beau at all. It drifts to other places—another person—and she can’t shake the growing discomfort building in her chest.
Beau’s hands roam lower, sliding from her face to her waist, gripping her hips firmly as he presses closer. The position is uncomfortable in the small confines of his car, and she shifts slightly. She thinks he takes that as an invitation, because he moves closer, his mouth trailing from her lips to her neck, kissing a path down to her collarbone, closer to her chest. The top she’s wearing leaves little to the imagination there, and he seems to like that. Dani’s breath hitches, body tensing. She isn’t here. She doesn’t want this.
But Beau doesn’t pay attention to the way her body recoils. He doesn’t notice how she stiffens under his touch. He’s too focused on his own need, his mouth feverish against her skin as he starts fumbling with the button of her jeans, eager to go further.
“Beau, stop,” Dani says softly, voice barely above a whisper.
He doesn’t stop. His hands are moving too fast, his breath hot and uneven against her neck as he presses harder to her.
“Beau, stop,” she repeats, more forceful this time, her hands pushing at his chest.
He ignores her, his hand still tugging at her jeans, more urgent now. “You can’t just keep doing this. We haven’t—” He pulls back just enough to look at her, frustration written all over his face. “You barely even let me kiss you anymore. What’s the point of us if you’re just gonna shut down every time I try to get close?”
She slaps at his hand now, and he finally retracts it. “I said stop,” she mumbles, breath quickening.
Beau sits back in his seat, his face darkening slightly. He runs a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. “Jesus Christ, Dani. What the hell is your problem? We haven’t fucked in weeks. You won’t even touch me, and now this? What, do you not even want me anymore?” His voice grows louder, harsher with each word.
Dani stares at him, her chest tight, her hands trembling in her lap. She doesn’t have the words to explain it to him, can’t tell him how disgusted she feels with herself every time they’re together. How she feels like she’s living a lie, forcing herself into a relationship she doesn’t want, creating a life that isn’t meant to be hers. But all she can manage is a weak, “I just… I don’t feel like it, okay? Can’t you respect that?”
“Respect that?” Beau’s eyes narrow, and he scoffs, shaking his head. “How the hell am I supposed to respect that when you don’t give me anything to work with? I’ve been patient, Dani. I’ve tried to give you space. But I’m not one of your fucking Catholic saints. I have needs, too.”
Dani winces at his words, feeling the sting of guilt and shame twist in her stomach. She hates this, hates the way he makes it sound like she’s failing him by not being able to give him what he wanted. But at the same time, she hates herself more for letting it get this far—for pretending she can be someone she’s not.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers, her voice cracking. “I’m sorry, okay? I just—”
“Sorry doesn’t cut it,” Beau snaps, cutting her off. “I’ve been dealing with your bullshit for weeks now, Dani. You’re distant, you’re cold, you won’t even look me in the eyes half the time. If this is how it’s gonna be, then maybe we shouldn’t go to the Halloween party together tomorrow. Hell, maybe you shouldn’t come at all.”
Dani’s throat tightens, and she feels the hot prickle of tears burning behind her eyes. “Beau, I—”
“No.” His voice is sharp, final. “You need to figure your shit out. Because I can’t keep doing this.” He unlocks the car doors, staring at her expectantly. “Get out.”
Dani blinks, stunned, thinking she may have misheard. “What?”
“Get out of the car.” His eyes are hard, cold. “If you’re gonna be like this, then just… go. Walk home. Maybe that’ll give you time to think about what you really want.”
“Are you serious?” Dani’s snaps, looking at him in disbelief. They’re parked in some random lot, miles away from her house. It’s dark, and she has no way of getting home except by walking. She can’t even call someone to come pick her up, because her phone died a little bit ago.
“I said get out,” Beau repeats, his voice like ice.
Dani swallows hard, before scoffing, opening the passenger door. She steps out into the chilly night air, and, immediately, she wishes she brought a jacket, the small cropped shirt she’s got on not doing anything to shield the cold.
Before she can say anything else, Beau reaches over and slams the door shut from the inside. He speeds off, leaving her standing alone in the dark parking lot, the distant sound of his car’s engine fading into the night.
The silence around her is deafening. Dani stands frozen for a moment, her arms wrapped around herself as the cold wind bites at her skin. She blinks back the tears that blur her vision, the ones she desperately tried to keep in so that he couldn’t see them, her mind racing with thoughts of everything that led her to this moment.
She wants to scream. To sob. To fall apart. But there’s no one here to see it, no one to hear her.
With a deep, shuddering breath, she starts walking.
PAIGE’S HANDS lazily hold the steering wheel as she drives down the empty, dim lit street, the hum of her car’s engine and the quiet voice of Drake the only sounds to keep her company. She’s just left Thaliah’s house after a low-key night spent playing Fortnite, and she’s thankful now that she finally has her license—no more relying on her friends or her dad for rides. The freedom is nice, the kind of feeling she’s been craving for a while.
As she continues driving along the road, something flickers at the edge of her vision, pulling her from her thoughts. A figure. A lone person walking down the sidewalk. Paige furrows her brows as she drives past, the figure just barely visible under the faint glow of the streetlamp. She turns her head a little, squinting as she stares at her side mirrors. All she really sees from that view is long hair blowing in the wind. A girl. It’s late—after midnight—and what girl would be stupid enough to be walking alone at this time?
Paige’s mind runs through the possibilities, but something gnaws at her. The silhouette looked familiar, like someone she knows. Someone with a very specific walk, a hunched posture, a familiar dip of the head, long hair…
No way. No fucking way.
She’s driven past already, but the doubt lingers in her mind, tugging at her. Paige’s hands hover over the wheel, her foot still on the gas as she debates with herself. But her gut is screaming—if it had vocal chords, they would be shredded by now. Because if it’s who she thinks it is, she can’t just leave it alone. She can’t ignore it.
With a frustrated groan, Paige quickly makes a sharp U-turn to go back the way she came. The street is dead silent, save for the crunch of her tires on the pavement. As she nears the figure again, her heart rate speeds up. Please don’t let it be her. Please don’t let it be Dani.
But as she slows down, pulling up alongside the sidewalk, her breath catches in her throat. She should’ve known all along, shouldn’t have even questioned herself. Because consciously, subconsciously, in any way possible—Paige always knows Dani. She can pick her out in any crowd, so doing it on a deserted street isn’t so hard. And she’s very right, because this is Dani. Walking alone. And it’s cold as hell out, too. She’s wearing nothing but ripped jeans and a cropped t-shirt. What the fuck is she doing?
Paige slows to a stop, rolling down the passenger window. Dani immediately stiffens, her head whipping toward the car, eyes wide. Paige leans over, her voice cutting through the silence.
“Dani, what’re you doing?” she asks, her voice sharp with concern and an edge of accusation.
Dani stares at her in disbelief, her brows knitting together in surprise. “Fuck, I thought you were some old man about to kidnap me,” she mutters, wrapping her arms around herself as a gust of wind whips through the air.
Paige rolls her eyes, the tension easing from her chest just a bit. “No, I’m not gonna kidnap you,” she says flatly. “But someone else fucking might. Get in the car.”
Dani hesitates, her gaze flicking between Paige and the road ahead. Her lips press into a thin line, and for a moment, Paige thinks she might refuse. There’s a tension in Dani’s stance, a stubbornness that Paige knows all too well.
“Dani, seriously,” Paige presses, her tone firm, leaving no room for argument. “It’s freezing out. I’m not leaving you out here alone.”
Dani sighs, a puff of visible breath in the chilly air, before muttering, “Fine.” She reaches for the door handle, and with a click, the door swings open, and Dani slides into the passenger seat.
Paige immediately turns the heat up, casting a quick glance at Dani. Her arms are crossed, her shoulders hunched, and Paige can see her shivering, despite the attempt to seem unbothered. Paige’s chest tightens with concern as she wonders what the hell could’ve happened to land Dani in this situation.
For a few moments, the car is filled with an awkward silence, broken only by the sound of the heater kicking in. Paige tries to focus on the road, but her mind races with a million questions on why Dani’s out here in the first place, why she was walking all alone in the dark as a teenager girl that most certainly could not defend herself should a kidnapper find her.
“What were you doing out there?” Paige finally asks, her voice more gentle this time, though still laced with concern. “Why are you out this late by yourself?”
Dani shakes her head, her eyes fixed on the dashboard in front of her. “It’s nothing,” she mumbles, her voice flat, detached.
Paige frowns, tightening her grip on the wheel. “It’s not nothing. It’s past midnight, and you’re walking around in the cold like it’s the middle of the day. What happened?” she presses, sending a glance at her ex-best friend.
Dani stays silent for a moment, then scoffs lightly, turning to look at Paige. “When’d you get your license? I thought you couldn’t drive?”
Paige rolls her eyes, biting back her frustration. “Don’t change the subject, Dani.”
Dani shifts in her seat, clearly uncomfortable, her arms tightening around her body like she’s trying to make herself smaller. “Just… drop it, Paige,” she replies, dismissive.
Paige exhales sharply, shifting her eyes over at her again. Dani’s walls are up, higher than ever. It isn’t like her to be this closed off with Paige. Or, at least, it hadn’t been like this before… before everything went sideways between them. No matter how much she hates it, Paige supposes she should get used to it—this is their new normal, after all.
“I’m not dropping it,” Paige shoots back, keeping her voice steady. “Not when I find you walking around alone at night looking like…” She trails off, unsure how to finish that sentence without pushing too far.
Dani’s jaw clenches. “Like what?” she snaps, her eyes flashing with an edge of anger.
“Like you’re not okay,” Paige says, softer now, her eyes darting between Dani and the road. “Just tell me what’s going on.”
Dani lets out a harsh breath, her fingers digging into her arms as she stares out the window. “I’m fine, Paige. Seriously.”
Paige doesn’t buy it for a second. Not with the way Dani’s sitting there, tense and cold and distant and—no matter how much she tries to hide it—vulnerable.
“Fine? Really? Because it sure doesn’t look like it,” Paige mutters. She knows she’s walking a fine line—at this point, Paige is probably the last person Dani wants to open up to right now, and pushing her too hard could make her shut down even more. But Paige can’t just sit there and pretend like everything is okay when it clearly isn’t.
Dani shakes her head again, more forcefully this time. “I’m fine. I just—” She cuts herself off, biting her lip, like she doesn’t even believe her own words.
Paige isn’t sure what it is, but something about Dani’s demeanor—the way she’s hunched over, trying to make herself disappear—makes her feel sick. Dani’s so different from the girl Paige used to know. Something’s wrong. Something’s been wrong for months now.
“Did Beau do something?” Paige asks quietly. It’s probably not the long term issue, the reason for the girl’s whole switch up, but Paige thinks it damn well could be the reason Dani’s in this situation tonight—and the thought makes the blonde’s stomach sick.
Dani stiffens immediately at the name. That reaction tells Paige everything she needs to know.
Nonetheless, Dani’s laugh is bitter, a sharp sound that cuts through the quiet car. “You really don’t know when to stop, do you?”
Paige’s heart drops, her pulse quickening. “Dani…”
But Dani turns her head away, staring out the window like she can’t bear to look at Paige anymore. “Just drive me home, okay?”
Paige hesitates, her throat tight, but eventually, she nods, pressing her foot down on the gas. The tension in the car is palpable, and Paige hates it—hates the silence, hates the distance between them. But she feels like she’s exhausted all she can do to try and repair it between them, so she leaves it be, and turns up the music just slightly.
The road stretches out ahead, leading them back toward their neighborhood, toward the familiarity of home. But as the houses grow closer, Paige can’t shake the feeling that something is just deeply wrong. And this isn’t just about tonight. It isn’t just about Dani walking alone in the dark.
This is about everything that’s happened between them—everything that’s changed since Dani was sent to that camp over the summer. Since Dani had come back different. Closed off. Dani hasn’t been the same since she returned, and even though Paige doesn’t know the full story—well, doesn’t even know an ounce of if, actually—she can still feel the weight of it.
Paige glances over at Dani once more, but Dani’s back to staring out the window, her arms still wrapped tightly around herself. In spite of everything, Dani’s still shivering, and Paige knows it’s not from the cold—the heat has surrounded her car by now. It’s about everything else.
They turn down their street, the familiar houses coming into view, bathed in the soft glow of porch lights. Paige can see her house up ahead, just a few doors down from Dani’s. Normally, this is where they’d share a goodbye, a see-you-later. But nothing is normal anymore.
Paige slows as they near Dani’s house, and for a moment, she considers just pulling into her own driveway, since their houses are right next to each other. But something stops her. Even if they live right next door, this still feels different. Dani needs more from her than just a quick drop-off. Paige needs to make sure Dani knows she’s not alone, even if she can’t fix whatever’s going on.
So, she pulls into Dani’s driveway instead, parking right next to Dani’s car. Paige’s car idles for a second, the engine’s soft hum the only sound between them. Paige shifts in her seat, looking over at Dani, who still hadn’t moved.
“You’re home,” Paige says quietly, breaking the silence.
Dani finally tears her eyes away from the window and sets her eyes on Paige, her expression guarded, tired. For a second, Paige thinks Dani’s just going to get out without a word, like every other time they’ve had one of these stilted, painful interactions. But then, Dani surprises her.
Dani shifts in her seat, turning slightly so she can look at Paige more directly. Her eyes soften, just for a moment, as she holds the blonde’s gaze. “Thank you,” she says quietly, her voice low but sincere. “For picking me up.”
Paige blinks, caught off guard by the sudden change in Dani’s tone. There’s no anger, no sarcasm, no bitterness in her voice. It’s raw, earnest. And for the first time in what feels like forever, Paige sees a glimpse of the old Dani—the one who didn’t have walls up between them. The one who trusted her.
Paige nods, unable to find her voice for a second. “Yeah. Of course,” she manages to say, her heart aching at how much she misses that side of Dani. The side that isn’t buried under layers of pain and fear.
Dani lingers for a moment, her eyes searching Paige’s face, like there’s something she wants to say but can’t find the words. Then, without another word, she reaches for the door handle and steps out of the car. Paige watches as Dani walks toward her front door, her shoulders hunched against the cold, but there’s something softer in her movements now. Something less defensive.
Paige stays in the car, watching as Dani unlocks her door and steps inside, the porch light flickering off as the door clicks shut behind her. The house swallows her up, and Paige is left sitting there in the quiet, her mind racing with everything that’s just happened.
It isn’t much. A simple thank you. But it’s the first real crack in the wall Dani’s built between them, and Paige can’t help but hold on to that. Maybe it’s a start.
She sighs softly, leaning back in her seat for a moment before putting the car in reverse and pulling out of the driveway. As she makes her way back to her own house, just a few yards away, Paige can’t shake the feeling that things are far from okay between them. But for the first time in a long time, she feels like maybe there’s hope.
And for now, that’s enough.
PAIGE SITS cross-legged on Thaliah’s bed, absentmindedly picking at the hem of her shirt, while Jalen lounges next to her, scrolling through his phone. Both of them are already dressed in their costumes, though neither put in much effort. Paige went the simple route—she’s wearing an old basketball jersey with some fake blood smeared across her face, playing the part of some sort of dead or zombie hooper—she doesn’t even really know herself, if she’s honest. Jalen wears a black hoodie and he’s got a plastic scythe, calling himself the Grim Reaper. Basic, but effective.
Thaliah, on the other hand, is still in front of her vanity, meticulously applying the finishing touches to her makeup. She’s going all out, dressed as a witch, complete with dramatic eye shadow, dark lipstick, and glitter cascading along her cheekbones. Her hair is done up in some complicated updo, and Paige is sure Thaliah will be the best dressed person at the party. As usual.
Paige leans back, resting on her hands, eyes distant as she vents, her voice low but agitated. “I just don’t get it. Like, why the hell would Dani even doing out there last night? Alone? She was walking by herself literally at twelve-thirty, J. She could’ve gotten kidnapped or murdered or—or something!” Her voice wavered with frustration and disbelief, and she glances at Jalen, hoping he’ll give some sort of input.
Jalen shrugs a little, tossing his phone aside and turning toward her. His brows are furrowed in the way they are only when he’s concerned. “Yeah, it’s fuckin’ weird, P. Did you ask her what happened?”
Paige lets out a sigh, her frustration evident. “Of course I did. She just brushed it off, said it was ‘nothing’—like that’s supposed to make me feel better about it.” She throws her hands up in the air, expressing the confusion she’s feeling. “And I swear, she looked like she hadn’t slept in days. She was, like, literally freezing and she looked so sad and I’m just like—what the hell happened?”
Thaliah, still working on her eyeliner, chimes in from the vanity, not looking up but clearly listening. “Dani’s been distant for months, Paige. It’s been off ever since she got back from camp. I don’t think it’s just about last night. Something’s been wrong for a while now.”
Paige nods, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her jersey. “I know. But last night just made it so much more real. I feel like—I don’t know—I feel like something happened. Maybe it was Beau. Maybe he did something to her.”
At that, Jalen’s eyes narrow slightly. He’s always quick to jump to conclusions when it comes to Beau Hudson, a guy that he’s had problems with for years now. “You think he hurt her? I mean, he is the type.”
Paige bites her lip, her mind racing with the possibilities. “I don’t know. Maybe? It’s not like Dani would tell me, though. She doesn’t talk to me anymore.”
There’s a long pause as all three of them sit in the heavy silence, the weight of the situation pressing down on them. They’s all thinking the same thing—what the hell happened to Dani? The girl they all knew so well has practically disappeared, replaced by someone colder, someone more distant, someone more shallow.
Thaliah finally puts down her eyeliner, spinning around in her chair to face them. “Something’s definitely up with her. But I don’t think it’s Beau that’s the main problem. I mean, she started acting like this before she and that bitch boy got together. Paige, I know you weren’t here when it happened, but she started dating Beau after she cut J and I off,” Thaliah points out, staring at the pair of her friend son the bed expectantly. But then she sighs, shaking her head, adding, “But if she’s not talking, what are we supposed to do? Just keep watching her spiral and probably ruin her life? Like, I don’t even know.”
Paige clenches her jaw, her mind racing with the memory of Dani walking along that dark sidewalk, looking so alone, so vulnerable. “I don’t want to just sit back and do nothing.” But she knows Thaliah is right—there’s really not much they can do if Dani won’t give them the light of day.
Thaliah shakes her head a little before standing up and moving toward her bed, where Paige and Jalen sit. She grabs her vape off the nightstand and takes a long drag, blowing the smoke out in a cloud that lingers in the air before dissipating. “Look, Dani’s been different for a while, but we can’t fix it tonight. We can’t fix her tonight.”
Paige frowns, her stomach sinking at those words. Fix her. It isn’t like Dani’s broken, but she isn’t herself either. Still, she understands what Thaliah is saying. She just doesn’t like it.
Thaliah hands the vape to Paige, raising her eyebrows when Paige hesitates before taking it. “C’mon, you need to relax. It’s Halloween. We’re supposed to be having fun, not stressing out over all this. Dani’s a tomorrow problem.”
Paige rolls her eyes but accepts the vape anyway, taking a small hit and handing it back. The familiar burn fills her lungs for a moment before she exhales, watching the smoke curl up toward the ceiling. “I just hate that we don’t know what’s going on with her.”
Jalen sits up straighter, crossing his arms over his chest. “We’ll figure it out, P. We just have to give her time. Maybe tonight, she’ll show up at the party, and we can talk to her then.”
Thaliah shakes her head, leaning back against her vanity. “Doubt it. She’s been avoiding us for weeks. Even if she shows, it’ll be with Hudson and that prissy Serena girl, and it’ll end in shit like it did last time.”
Paige knows Thaliah’s probably right. They’ve gone to the same parties a couple times since school started, and each time, Dani stays closed to Beau Hudson and Serena Corren’s sides, not bothering to give any attention to Paige. The odds of her suddenly showing up and deciding to speak to them at tonight’s Halloween thing seems slim. Still, Paige can’t help but hope that maybe, just maybe, Dani will surprise her.
Thaliah takes another drag from the vape before offering it back to Paige, who takes another hit, letting the smoke relax her nerves just a bit. “But seriously,” Thaliah says as she exhales, “tonight’s about us. Let’s just have fun, forget about all the drama, and worry about Dani tomorrow. It’s Halloween! We deserve a good night.”
Paige smiles faintly, nodding. Thaliah’s right. Tonight is supposed to be fun. Maybe she can take a break from worrying for one night. Maybe.
And, she thinks maybe she really actually can, because the party does turn out to be fun. It’s a lot different from the last party she went to, the one where she drank herself stupid and fought Beau Hudson. She doesn’t regret the second part… just thinks she could’ve found a better way to do it. But tonight, she’s the designated driver, meaning she’s sticking to her Sprite, laying off the alcohol. But it doesn’t really matter. She doesn’t need to drink to have fun with her friends—especially on Halloween.
The house is decked out for Halloween—fake spider webs hanging from the ceiling, carved pumpkins in every corner, and purple lights casting shadows along the walls. Most people are dressed in costumes, though a lot are half-assed like Paige and Jalen’s. Paige gets a laugh out of a guy dressed in a banana costume, dancing on a table, though.
Eventually, Paige, Jalen, and Thaliah settle in the living room, perching on the couches and standing with some of their other friends from school and basketball and such. It’s easy, it’s fun, the atmosphere is lively but not chaotic. Paige enjoys it.
That is, until out of the corner of her eye, she spots them.
Beau Hudson, Serena Corren, and the rest of that group Dani’s been hanging around with lately are clustered near the kitchen, laughing and talking amongst themselves. Paige’s stomach tightens, her eyes scanning the group for one specific person. Dani. But as she searches, she realizes with a sinking feeling that Dani isn’t here.
Paige narrows her eyes slightly, confused. Dani’s always with them—whenever Beau and his friends show up to a party, the girl’s practically glued to his side. But tonight, she’s nowhere around.
Paige glances over at Thaliah, who’s too busy chatting with some girls to notice her. So, the blonde taps Jalen on the shoulder, nodding toward Beau and his friends. “Hudson’s here,” she acknowledges.
Jalen follows her gaze, rolling his eyes. “Dick,” he mutters, his disdain for the quarterback evident. He stares at the group for a second longer before Paige watches a familiar flicker of confusion cross along his face. “Dani’s not with ‘em?”
Paige shakes her head, mind racing. It’s so weird. Ever since Dani started dating Beau, they‘be been almost inseparable, especially at parties like this. But now, Dani just… gone. And it doesn’t sit right with Paige. Especially not after what happened last night.
However, before she can dwell on it too long, nature calls. She needs to pee. Paige stands up, muttering something to Jalen about finding the bathroom. As she makes her way through the crowded house, her mind stays locked on the thought of the Callan girl. Maybe Paige is just being dramatic. Maybe Dani is here and she just hasn’t seen her and she’s worrying for no reason.
When she finally finds the hallway leading to the bathroom, she groans. There’s a line.
And the person standing at the back of the line? None other than Beau Hudson himself.
Paige’s eyes narrow as she approaches, trying to play it casual. She leans against the wall, taking Thaliah’s vape out of her pocket and bringing it to her lips. She inhales, letting the vapor fill her lungs as she stares at the back of Beau’s head. He hasn’t noticed her yet, so she waits a beat before speaking.
“Dani here?” she asks, her tone nonchalant.
Beau turns slightly, glancing over his shoulder at her. His expression is somewhere between annoyed and smug, like he can’t be bothered with her question. “Nope,” he replies shortly, turning back to face the bathroom door as if that’s the end of the conversation.
But Paige isn’t done. She presses, “How come?”
Beau scoffs, a low, bitter sound that grates on Paige’s nerves. “You’re fuckin’ nosy, Bueckers,” he mutters, barely looking at her.
Paige raises an eyebrow, not backing down. “Well, when it comes to Dani, yeah. I am.” Her voice is sharp, but controlled. She isn’t about to let him dismiss her like that.
Beau finally turns to face her fully, his expression twisted with irritation. “Why do you care, anyway? You’re not even friends anymore.”
Paige clenches her jaw, holding his gaze. “Doesn’t mean I don’t care.”
For a moment, there’s a tense silence between them, the music and chatter from the party seeming distant in comparison to the charged atmosphere in the hallway. Paige can feel her heart racing, could feel the anger bubbling under the surface.
Beau breaks the silence first, rolling his eyes as if he can’t be bothered with her anymore. “She’s probably rotting in her bedroom right now. I told her not to come.”
Paige blinks, caught off guard by the harshness in his voice. “What? Why?”
Beau shrugs, leaning casually against the wall as if what he’s saying is no big deal. Which, to him, it probably isn’t. “She’s been a bitch lately. Told her to stay home.”
Paige’s grip on the vape tightens as a rush of anger surges through her. She hates him. She hates how he talks about Dani like that, like she’s just some inconvenience instead of his girlfriend. The same girlfriend he’s never deserved.
The same girlfriend that Paige picked up in the middle of the night last night.
Her gaze slides to Beau, and before she can stop herself, the words are out of her mouth. “Did you do something to Dani last night?”
Beau’s head snaps toward her, his eyes narrowing. “What the fuck are you talking about?” His tone is defensive, a little too defensive for someone who’s supposedly innocent.
Paige doesn’t back down, her pulse quickening as the frustration bubbles to the surface. “Last night,” she repeats, her voice steady. “I found her walking home alone in the middle of the night. She wouldn’t even tell me what was going on. So I’m asking you, Beau—did you leave her out there?”
Beau’s expression shifts, his jaw tightening as he stands up straighter, his arms dropping to his sides. “Are you seriously accusing me of something?” he snaps, his voice low and threatening. “I didn’t leave her anywhere.”
Paige scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest as she stares him down. “Then why was she out there, alone? She looked like she’d been crying.”
Beau rolls his eyes, but there’s something uneasy in the way he shifts on his feet, something that makes Paige’s stomach twist. “I don’t know, Paige. Maybe she was crying because she’s a fucking mess lately.”
Paige’s eyes flash with anger. “She’s a mess? You’re her boyfriend. Aren’t you supposed to, I don’t know, give a shit?”
Beau’s lips curl into a sneer. “You don’t know anything about our relationship, so maybe you should keep your nose out of it.”
Paige takes a step closer, her voice lowering as she looks down on him ever so slightly—having those couple inches on him. “I know enough to know something’s wrong with her. She’s not herself, and you’re just standing here acting like you don’t care.”
Beau’s face hardens, and for a second, Paige thinks he might actually shove her away. They’ve had a physical fight before—what’s another one? But instead, he takes a step back, exhaling sharply as he glares at her. “You think this is my fault? You think I’m the one who’s making her act like this? You have no idea what she’s like, Bueckers. You only ever saw the good parts of her.”
Paige’s heart skips a beat, but she doesn’t flinch. “And what’s that supposed to mean?” she reports.
Beau huffs out a humorless laugh, his gaze flicking to the bathroom door as it remains stubbornly closed. “It means that she’s been a bitch lately, okay? Just like I said before. Moody as hell. I’m not her fuckin’ babysitter, like, Jesus Christ.”
Paige feels her hands clench into fists at her sides. “So you’re just going to leave her to deal with whatever’s going on by herself? Real classy, Hudson.”
Before Beau can respond, the bathroom door swings open, and a couple stumbles out, laughing drunkenly and clinging to each other. Paige shoots them a disgusted look—God only knows what they had been doing in there. Beau takes advantage of the distraction, slipping past her and heading straight for the open bathroom.
Before he disappears inside, he shoots Paige one last glance, his expression dark and full of resentment. “Stay out of it, Paige.”
The door slams shut behind him, leaving Paige standing in the hallway, her heart racing with anger and confusion. She leans against the wall, lifting Thaliah’s vape to her lips and taking another long drag, the vapor filling her lungs as she tries to calm herself down.
Stay out of it? He’s fucking stupid if he thinks that’ll stop her from doing anything.
She exhales slowly, her mind still spinning with everything that just happened. Beau’s words leave a bitter taste in her mouth, but more than that, they leave her with an even deeper sense of worry for Dani. There’s something wrong, and Beau either doesn’t know how to handle it or simply doesn’t care enough to try.
Paige closes her eyes for a moment, leaning her head back against the wall as the sound of the party buzzes around her. Halloween is Dani’s favorite holiday. Dani’s always, always loved it, always got excited about dressing up, about watching horror movies and going to parties with their friends. She and Paige have done coordinating costumes every year since forever. But this year? Dani’s sitting at home, probably miserable by the sound of things, and Paige wants to help. To do anything to help.
She takes another drag, and thinks.
DANI LAYS on her bed, staring up at the ceiling, feeling the weight of the silence in the room pressing down on her. Halloween has always been her favorite day of the year, the one she looks forward to the most. But tonight, it feels hollow. She glances around her bedroom—dimly lit, the shadows from her string lights casting a soft glow on the walls. It’s quiet, too quiet, and that’s the problem. Her friends are all probably at a party somewhere, dressed up in ridiculous costumes, laughing, drinking, having the time of their lives.
But she isn’t there. Not with Beau and Serena and everyone else she was meant to go out with tonight.
And certainly not with Paige and Thaliah and Jalen, who she’s spent every Halloween with for years.
The thought stings like an open wound. Halloween’s always been something she and Paige share—whether it was sneaking candy at sleepovers when they were younger or staying up late to watch horror movies that terrified them both, or—more recently—attending the dumbest parties and getting shit-faced. But this year, Dani’s alone, cut off from everything and everyone that once made her feel like herself.
She lets out a long sigh, sitting up in bed. She decides to be masochistic, and pulls one of her old scrapbooks from her the drawer in her bedside table. This is so stupid, she thought, thumbing through the pages. She hasn’t added to it in months, not since before everything changed. Not since her dad sent her to that place. She flips through the pages, her eyes scanning the scrawled handwriting, the cut photos, the scattered tape, reliving bits and pieces of her old life—laughing with Thaliah, playing (and losing) basketball with Jalen, sneaking out with Paige, pretending nothing could ever come between them.
Before camp. Before everything got fucked up.
Her heart clenches as she turns to an old picture tucked between the pages. It’s the two of them—her and Paige. Taken last Halloween, in matching costumes they’d thrown together at the last minute. Dani smiles faintly at the memory, the way Paige had made her laugh so hard that night she thought she’d never catch her breath. It had been one of the best nights of her life, but now it feels like a lifetime ago, like it belongs to a different version of her—a version of Dani that no longer exists.
Dani’s throat tightens as the memories overwhelmed her. She drops the scrapbook on the bed and covers her face with her hands, her shoulders trembling. I still love her. The realization hits her like a ton of bricks, the words echoing in her mind over and over. She loves Paige. She always has. But it feels so impossible now, so wrong, so tainted. After everything that’s happened, after the months apart, after the cold distance between them, after everything that’s been cemented into Dani’s head, how can they ever get back to what they used to be?
Tears blur Dani’s vision as she buries her face in her hands, her body shaking with quiet sobs. She wants to be the girl she used to be—the carefree, happy, whole version of herself that hadn’t been shattered by her father’s cruelty, by the camp, by the guilt that now consumes her every waking thought. She wants to go back to the way things were before her mind became warped and twisted by everything she‘a been forced to believe.
But she can’t. She doesn’t know how.
She cries until her chest aches, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps. She feels like she’s drowning, and there’s no one there to pull her out of the deep end. She’s lost so much—her friends, her sense of self, her relationship with Paige. Who is she now? She doesn’t even know anymore.
Suddenly, the sound of the doorbell echoes through the empty house, pulling Dani out of her thoughts. She wipes at her tear-streaked face, frowning as she glances at the clock on her nightstand. It’s way too late for trick-or-treaters, and no one else os home. Her dad is out for the night, and the house has been dead quiet for hours.
Confused, Dani gets up from her bed, pulling on her hoodie as she makes her way downstairs. The doorbell rings again just as she reaches the bottom of the staircase, and she hesitates for a moment before opening the door.
The porch is empty.
Dani blinks, her heart racing as she stepped outside and glances around. There was no one in sight—just the dark, empty street in front of her house. She thinks maybe it’s just some stupid Halloween prank until she looks down. There’s a small basket sitting on the porch, filled with Twix and Sour Patch Kids and Snickers—all of her favorite candies. Her breath catches in her throat as she crouches down, her fingers trembling as she picks it up.
Sitting on top of the candy is a folded note.
Dani’s heart pounds in her chest as she opens the note, her eyes scanning the familiar handwriting:
Dan,
Please know that if you ever need to talk to anyone, I am always here for you. I hope this basket makes your Halloween a little better.
P <3
Dani’s vision blurs with tears again, but this time, they aren’t necessarily tears of sadness. They’re something else—something warmer, softer. Paige left this for her. Paige went out of her way to make sure Dani wasn’t completely alone tonight.
She clutches the note to her chest, her heart aching in a way that feels both painful and comforting all at once. Paige has always been there for her, even now, even when everything is so broken, so different. Dani stands on the porch for a long moment, the cool night air brushing against her skin as she stares down at the basket.
She lets herself be a little optimistic. She thinks that maybe not everything is lost.

Like they don’t think they’re pretty enough bc of their friends and stuff. Thank you !! Take your time and have a nice day <3
Tumblr media
I needed something like this rn so I’m almost glad it took so long for me to get to (though I am sorry, i have been so busy) a lil hard to be positive right now but i tried my best!!

Contents: fluff, insecure reader

Tumblr media
Your friends are beautiful, handsome. They truly are. Your girlfriend, Arlecchino, is stunning too. It seems everyone around you has the perfect face, looks utterly amazing. You find yourself admiring them whenever you’re around them. Yet, you, yourself, are not any of those things. Not in your own mind. You can’t even look at yourself in the mirror, at least, not recently. You find your eyes burning with hot tears the second you catch a glimpse, and you find yourself growing bitter at the sight of anyone who doesn’t look like you. At least before it got so bad you could joke about how you wanted to be them, and now jealousy has given way to hatred, even if they’ve done nothing wrong.
It isn’t like Arlecchino hasn’t noticed, either. The way your makeup mirror has been flipped around so you don’t have to see yourself, or the way you purposely avoid looking towards any reflective surface, even during intimate activities. And if we’re honest, Arlecchino loves to make you look at yourself while you’re coming undone because of her, except her recent advances have been met with a firm ‘no’.
She can’t figure out why you suddenly began acting like this. Any mention of either your frame or your face turns you angry and silent, with your fists clenching. You aren’t angry really though, you’re just sad. Sad you won’t ever look like the people you wish you could look like. Devastated at the thought that Arlecchino will one day see sense and leave you for one of them. The thought of that hurts you so much you begin distancing yourself from her, too. Arlecchino, at first, is confused. She, for the life of her, cannot understand any of this. Yet, the day comes where you can’t even bring yourself to look at her while she speaks to you, and she can’t seem to keep herself quiet anymore.
“Look at me,” she snaps. She tries not to lose her temper with you, not when she knows there’s a clear reason why you’re acting the way you’re acting, but you’re not saying anything, you won’t even look at her.
You feel your own jaw setting, all of your negative feelings bubbling up for no reason. Unfortunately this time, she seems to be the target. “Or what, you’ll leave me for someone prettier?”
Arlecchino doesn’t flinch, but her expression, the one that’s usually so graceful and emotionless, crumples into a frown of pure disbelief and confusion. Her voice this time comes out as a quiet hiss. “What? You doubt my affection for you after all this time? Is that what this is about?”
When you go to argue back, and your voice breaks into a cry, she softens as much as someone like Arlecchino can soften. “I see,” she murmurs, sitting down next to you. Her hand softly lands on your knee, squeezing it gently. “This again, is it? I have told you countless times—“
“It doesn’t help. I still feel this way.” Your attempt at a venomous response does nothing but highlight how you’re feeling, the exact opposite effect you wanted. Still, you sniffle, your hands curled in on themselves as you talk. “No words will help that I want to rip off my own skin because it feels like I am the ugliest creature to ever walk the earth, or that I feel like I have been created for the universe to be amused at my torment.”
“Yet to me, you are a creature full of beauty and grace. You are wonderful, your face is, too. Do you not think I would have left if I wanted to?” Your response to her words is silence. Unfortunately for your brain, she has a point. She could leave in a heartbeat, you couldn’t stop her if you pleaded. She stays, though. Doesn’t that say enough?
“If I didn’t know better, I would say you are a descendant of a goddess. So, how dare you speak about yourself in that way? I did not fall for your friends, or some girl on the street. I demand nothing but the best for myself, and that is exactly what I have. Next time you feel this way, you come to me.”

summary: You and Hamzah were put together for a video idea. The only issue is that you have to stay alone in the same small hotel room, and with Martin and Mandy’s teasing truth or dares for the video, you and Hamzah share a little more than was expected.
note: still working on my hamzah x love island pt.2 but wanted to post so i hope you enjoy!!
With the growth of the channel, Hamzah and Martin wanted to create higher-budget content for their new subscribers. This time, they decided to film a budget hotel compared to an expensive hotel video like many YouTubers had been doing recently. They realized that with the influx in followers, they would have to separate themselves to create a more exciting video. While Martin was set to bring Mandy along for the luxurious stay, Hamzah found himself without a filming partner for the budget hotel.
You and Hamzah had known each other through Martin when you were in school together. You were a help for the channel for a while, not necessarily an editor, but you would always be there to be a second set of eyes for any videos the channel would release. You had helped them because of your close relationship with Martin, but it would be a lie to say that you didn’t enjoy the nights you would be left alone on call with Hamzah while you went over video ideas when Martin was gone.
Nervous excitement coursed through you as you thought of him. You couldn't help but feel delighted that they would invite you along; it felt like the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better. You thought well of Hamzah; you always saw him as hardworking and dedicated to the channel, but you wished you could know more about him. He was always quite awkward sometimes on call when it was just the two of you, and you hoped that any nerves you were worried about would be smoothed out by the time the video came around.
———
The café was buzzing with chatter as you walked in, scanning the room for familiar faces. Mandy and Martin had chosen a cozy corner table by the window, and you spotted them immediately. Hamzah was already there, sitting across from them, nursing a coffee. The sight of him sent a little flutter through your stomach.
“Hey, sorry I’m late!” you called out as you approached the table.
Mandy waved you over with a big smile. “No worries! We just got here ourselves. Grab a seat!”
You slid into the chair next to Hamzah, feeling a slight thrill as your knees brushed under the table. “Hey, Hamzah,” you said, trying to keep your tone casual.
“Hey,” he replied, giving you a warm smile. His eyes lingered on you for a moment longer than necessary, and you felt a blush creep onto your face.
Martin leaned back in his chair, looking relaxed. “So, you guys ready for this? Epic, cool, rich, amazing me and Mandy versus you two. Should be interesting, still can’t believe that you agreed for me and Mandy get the better one.”
“It’s just cause I actually like Mandy and want her to have a nice room, unlike you,” you joked, nudging Hamzah playfully.
Hamzah chuckled, though you could sense a bit of his usual nervousness with you. “Yeah, I’m sure Mandy and Martin will still find a way to complain though, especially Martin cause that’s literally all he knows.”
Mandy rolled her eyes good-naturedly. “Oh, come on, Hamzah. You’ll have fun too. Just think of it as an experience.”
Hamzah nodded, taking a sip of his drink. “Yeah, I know. It’ll be fine.”
Martin leaned forward, excitement in his eyes. “Alright, so here’s the plan. We’ll check into our respective hotels, get some footage of the rooms and our first impressions. Then, we’ll each order room service and document what we get. Should give us a good comparison I think.”
“How do we even know that we can get room service?” Hamzah questioned
“Well that would be even better! Maybe you’d actually spend your money on getting dinner with a girl instead of just talking about it all the time” Mandy laughed
“I literally didn’t even ask you” Hamzah bickered back.
Everyone agreed, the plan seeming solid. As the conversation continued, you couldn’t help but notice how Hamzah’s gaze kept drifting toward you. The four of you spent the next hour discussing the logistics of the video, what shots to capture, and how to compare the two hotels effectively. Despite the casual nature of the conversation, you felt a growing sense of anticipation for the evening ahead.
As you all stood up to leave, Mandy gave you a sly smile. “You two have fun tonight. And Hamzah, take care of our girl here.”
Hamzah blushed slightly, scratching the back of his neck. “Yeah, of course. We’ll be fine.”
Martin placed his hand on Hamzah’s back. “Just think of it as another mukbang for the channel. And remember, we can always edit out any embarrassing moments.”
Hamzah laughed, though you could see the tension in his eyes. “Got it. No pressure, right?”
As you walked out of the café, you fell into step beside Hamzah. “You okay?” you asked softly.
He glanced at you, a small smile playing on his lips. “Yeah, just... a little nervous, I guess. But I’m glad you’re coming along.”
“Me too,” you replied, feeling a warmth spread through you at his words.
As you all made your way to the parking lot, you couldn’t shake the feeling that tonight was going to be more than just another video shoot. The unspoken tension between you and Hamzah was getting thick.
When you arrived at the budget hotel, the reality struck. The room was small, and the only bed was a double. Hamzah's stomach twisted at the thought of sharing such intimate quarters. "This is... cozy," he said, forcing a laugh.
You grinned, "More like snug, but we'll make it work!"
The budget hotel room felt cramped, a stark contrast to the lavish suite Mandy and Martin were enjoying just a few streets down. You and Hamzah sat on the edge of the small bed, laptops open as you looked over a list of dares sent by Martin and Mandy.
"Okay, your turn," you said, stifling a laugh as you read aloud,
"Truth or dare?"
Hamzah leaned back, arms crossed, trying to play it cool. "Dare, obviously. I'm not afraid of whatever Martin has to say."
With a grin, you scrolled down the list until you found one that made your eyes widen. "Let's see... Oh, this one's interesting.
“Kiss someone in the room!"
Hamzah's eyes widened, and he quickly glanced around the tiny space as if looking for an escape. "Uh, no way. That must've been meant for Martin and Mandy. We can't do that one," he stammered, his nervousness evident.
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. "Come on, Hamzah.
Don't be a coward. It's just a dare! Besides, it's not like Martin and Mandy would mind-they're probably expecting us to follow through."
"Seriously? Martin must be messing with us. He's being so cringe including that dare," Hamzah mumbled, clearly flustered.
"There's no way I'm doing it."
You leaned in slightly, enjoying the effect your words had on him.
"Then why don't you just kiss me? Unless you're scared," you challenged, your tone playful but laced with sincerity.
Hamzah swallowed hard, his eyes darting around as he searched for a safe response. "You're joking, right?"
"Not really," you replied, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Come on, it's just a kiss."
"Okay, okay! I'll do it," he said, his resolve shaky but determined.
"But just a quick peck, alright?"
You nodded, excitement bubbling inside you. Hamzah moved closer, hesitating for a moment before leaning in. Your heart raced as his lips brushed against yours, light and tentative.
It was soft-just a fleeting moment-but it sent electricity coursing through you. He pulled back quickly, his eyes wide.
"See? Not so scary, right?"
You bit your lip, feeling a surge of boldness. "Maybe not so scary, but definitely not enough," you teased.
Before Hamzah could respond, you reached out, your hand touching his arm. The room seemed to shrink around you as you leaned in again. This time, the kiss deepened, your lips moving together with a newfound urgency. Hamzah's hand found its way to your waist, pulling you closer.
His lips were soft but insistent, moving against yours with nervousness, but more eagerness. You responded, your fingers threading through his hair as the kiss grew more passionate. You could feel his breath quicken, matching your own as the intensity between you heightened.
Hamzah's hand slid up the back of your shirt, sending shivers down your spine. He broke the kiss for a moment, his forehead resting against yours, eyes searching yours for any sign of hesitation.
Seeing none, he leaned in again, this time letting his lips trail down to your neck.
"Is this okay?" he murmured against your skin, his breath warm and tantalizing.
"Yes," you whispered back, your voice barely audible. "Don't stop."
The sensation of his lips on your neck made you gasp softly, “Hamzah…” a thrill running through you. You tilted your head slightly, giving him better access, and he took full advantage, his kisses growing more confident and daring.
"You taste amazing," he breathed, his words sending another shiver through you.
The white noise of the camera equipment around you faded away, leaving just the two of you in your own world. Each kiss, each touch, felt like a new discovery, and the cramped hotel room seemed to disappear as you lost yourselves in the moment. Hamzah's hand cupped your cheek, guiding your lips back to his. The kiss deepened further, his tongue brushing against yours, eliciting a soft moan from you. The passion between you was undeniable, and you both reveled in the electricity of the moment.
"You have no idea how long l've wanted to do this," he admitted between kisses, his voice filled with desire.
"Me too," you confessed, your heart pounding. "I've been waiting for this."
Minutes felt like hours as you continued to explore each other, the connection between you growing stronger with each passing second. Finally, you pulled back, both of you breathless and flushed, surprise and exhilaration in your eyes.
Hamzah whispered, his voice husky. "I didn't expect that."
"You’re so cute," you replied, smiling.
He nodded, his thumb brushing lightly against your cheek. "Thank you."
For a moment, you just sat there, the intensity of what had just happened lingering in the air.
Hamzah cleared his throat, breaking the silence. “So, uh, about the video,” he started, a smile forming on his lips. “We should probably get back to it, right?”
You nodded, trying to steady your racing heart but feeling a giggle bubbling up. “Yeah, definitely. Can’t forget why we’re here.”
As you both sat up and reached for your laptops, the atmosphere between you felt lighter. You couldn’t help but glance at him every few seconds, each time catching his eye and bursting into laughter.
“So, what’s next on the list?” Hamzah asked, his voice filled with amusement.
You scrolled through the list of dares and challenges, trying to focus. “Let’s see… looks like we’re supposed to compare the room service menus next,” you said, stifling a giggle as you met his gaze again.
Hamzah chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Right, room service. Let’s see if this place has anything decent.”
As you both began browsing the hotel’s menu, the awkwardness started to fade, replaced by a comfortable, shared amusement. Every time your eyes met, you couldn’t help but smile, thinking about the kiss.
“Look at this,” Hamzah said, pointing to his screen. “They actually have a ‘budget burger.’ I wonder if it’s as sad as it sounds.”
You laughed, the sound light and genuine. “We have to try it. For the sake of the video, of course.”
“Of course,” he agreed, grinning. “Anything for the content.”
You both placed an order, deciding to film your reactions to the food as part of the video. As you waited for the delivery, the conversation flowed easily, punctuated by shared glances and quiet laughter.
“Do you think Martin and Mandy are actually doing any of the dares we sent them?” you asked, leaning back on your hands.
Hamzah laughed, shaking his head. “Knowing them, Martin is probably kicking his feet and giggling at whatever Mandy says to care about the dares. But who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us.”
You smiled, your eyes meeting his again. “I guess we’ll find out when I compare footage.”
There was a brief pause, the silence filled with unspoken thoughts. You could tell he was thinking about the kiss, just as you were. Finally, Hamzah broke the silence.
“You know,” he said softly, his eyes twinkling with mischief, “I think I’ll keep some of the footage.”
You giggled, feeling a warmth spread across your face. “Yeah, what part?”
He smiled, a shy but genuine smile that made your heart skip a beat, “I wonder.”
The moment lingered, the atmosphere was comfortable. The sound of a knock on the door broke the spell, and you both laughed, the tension easing as you got up to grab the food.
As you set up the camera and started filming your reactions to the room service, the shared glances and secret smiles continued.
Later that night, after the filming was done and you both had laughed your way through tasteless burgers and overcooked fries, you found yourselves sitting close together on the small bed, the camera off and the lights dim.
“Hamzah,” you began, your voice soft and tentative, “I’ve really enjoyed tonight.“
He turned to you, his eyes reflecting the same emotions you felt. “Me too. I mean, I always enjoy hanging out with you, but tonight was… different.”
You nodded, understanding exactly what he meant. “Maybe we could, you know, do something like this again. Just us.”
His smile widened, his eyes lighting up. “I’d like that. A lot.”

Secrets🕊️
Summary: You’re Sam and Deans sister and have been seeing Castiel behind their back, but what happens when you need to come clean when you find out yours and Castiels time together creates a little surprise
Pairing: Castiel x f!reader Winchester
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
Holding the pregnancy test in my hand felt surreal, if someone told me a few years ago that I’d be back to hunting monsters with my family and pregnant with an angels child I’d think they were crazy, but here I am in another motel bathroom, my brothers in the other room working on a case as I’m having a whirl wind of thoughts over take me
After some time I take a deep breath and put the test in my back pocket coming to terms that this secret Cas and I have kept under wraps needs to come to light, sneaking around always made things between us more fun but we also wanted to be able to just be together without the stress of Dean trying to kill Cas or their disapproval, plus with how many enemies were after Castiel it just felt safer to keep it a secret, a year long secret
I walk out of the bathroom fiddling with my hands sitting on one of the two beds
“Hey you okay kiddo?” Dean always called me that, he always sees me as that little sister who looked up to him when dad was away, which makes me feel even more guilty
“Can I talk to you guys for a moment” they instantly got up from the small motel table in the corner and sat on the bed across from me giving me their full attention
I never thought I’d be scared to tell my brothers something, Sammy was always the sweetest little brother and Dean always tried to protect me like it was his only mission in life
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Sam asked, worry written all over his face
“I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys just please promise me you won’t be disappointed in me” my chest was heavy and my stomach is bubbles of anxiety
“What did you do” Dean groaned but I know he’s just worried
I pulled out the pregnancy test and handed it over they immediately went wide eyed
“Is this real?”
“How the hell did this happen I don’t even ever see you flirt with anyone at bars, you don’t even look to the side of anyone” Dean sighed
“I don’t just go around hooking up”
“Then what? Is this the new Jesus?”
“Yeah about that…….”
“You can’t be serious” Sam said shocked
“What no it’s not immaculate conception, we wanted to wait and ease you both into this, we wanted it to just be the two of us for a bit but now with the pregnancy I can’t not tell you both any longer”
“We? You’ve been seeing someone?” Dean asked confused
“It’s C….” Before I could confess Castiel himself popped into the room making a bee line right to me, not even acknowledging Sam and deans questions as to why he was there, and kneeled infront of me holding my hands that were in my lap
“Y/n you haven’t answer my calls for almost 2 days do you know how worried I’ve been” he stated with those puppy eyes I feel in love with
“I’m sorry I’ve had a lot on my mind, there’s something I need to tell you too” whenever I was with cas it felt like we were in our own little bubble of love, completely forgetting why I was sitting on this bed in the first place
“You can’t be serious, you and Castiel? How long has this been a thing?” Dean said standing up now
“It’s been a year Dean, she is the love of my life, it was meant to be” Cas said matter o factly as he stood
“A year? You’ve been sneaking around for a year? How the hell did we not notice this Sam?” Sam just shrugged his shoulders
“And now you’re pregnant with an angel how is this going to end?”
Of course Dean had to be the one to blurt it out, Castiel turned to me wide eyed looking at my still flat belly no sign of a bump
“You’re with child? With my child?” He asked bewildered as he held my hips
“Are you mad?”
“Of course not, I love you and I’ll love this baby, you’re all my family now” I laid my head against his chest letting his warmth calm me down as he held me
“It’s going to be crazy to get use to but congrats guys” Sam said patting my back
“You better watch over them Cas or I swear to god” Dean groaned as he took a sip of his beer
Tumblr media
After 8 and a half months it was time to pop, laying in a hospital bed with Sam and Dean sitting on the couch by my bed anxiously, of all the monsters we’ve fought this seemed to trump them all
“DEAN WHERES CAS?” I scream as another painful contraction courses through me
“I don’t know honey, I’ve been calling and praying” he says panicked as he gets up and dabs a cool cloth against my face
“I’m scared, what if the baby is an angel and it rips me apart, what if Cas can’t save me and I don’t get to say goodbye”
“Hey don’t talk like that you’re going to get through this, you’re a Winchester” Sam said trying to be supportive
A wosh of wings sounds through the room and Castiel is there by my side
“I’m sorry some demons had me I got here as fast as I could”
“It hurts so much, make it stop” I whimper as he presses two of his fingers to my forehead immediately easing my pain
“The child is already stronger than I had hoped”
“What does that mean? Will she be okay?” Dean asked his eye brows pinching together
“I will have to dull its powers until she has given birth” he worked his magic and the pressure lessened before I felt the urge to push
Everything happened so fast, the doctor came rushing in helping guide me as cas kept dulling my senses to get rid of the pain when a cry brought me back to reality
“Congratulations on a beautiful baby girl” the doctor said laying her in my chest before giving us space
Sam Dean and Castiel surrounded my bed all looking at this little bundle of bright life, she opened her eyes and all that emitted was bright white and blue light, like when cas would go supernova
“She’s beautiful, she looks just like you”
“Except for the glowing orbs” Dean stated
“Yes well that will fade over time as she grows but she will still have powers”
“What’s should we name her cas?”
“She looks like a Pam” I couldn’t help but laugh at such a name for a baby
“How about Samantha, and maybe the next one could be after Dean” I smile up at my two brothers who had tears in their eyes
“I think it’s perfect, you’re perfect”
“You did good sis, we’re proud of you”

X-men x Reader x Reader's Dog (Part.2)
How they handle your relationship with your dog (Part.2)
Yes... Mr. Pickles..again! (I love these headcanons so much, I'm sorry) These headcanons explore how eight famous X-Men interact with both you, their partner, and your small, not-so-bright dog, Mr. Pickles.
Characters: Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde, Rogue, Colossus, Warren Worthington III, Erik Lehnsherr, Laura Kinney & Charles Xavier
Tumblr media
Emma Frost:
- At first, Emma finds Mr. Pickles somewhat beneath her—she’s used to luxury and elegance, and Mr. Pickles is, well, a goofy little dog with no real sense of sophistication. But over time, even the White Queen can’t resist his innocent charm. She’ll roll her eyes and sigh dramatically, but you’ve caught her cradling Mr. Pickles in her arms like a prized possession more than once.
- Emma telepathically keeps Mr. Pickles out of trouble when he gets into mischief, subtly guiding him away from precarious situations. You never really know how Mr. Pickles avoids disasters—like not falling off the balcony—but Emma just smiles slyly and changes the subject.
- Despite her initial reluctance, Emma begins treating Mr. Pickles like a little prince, often dressing him in designer dog outfits and expensive collars. She makes sure he looks his best when in public, often saying, “If he’s going to be seen with me, he must at least have some style.”
Tumblr media
Kitty Pryde:
- Kitty absolutely adores Mr. Pickles from the moment she meets him. She’s a big dog person, and she thinks his cluelessness is part of his charm. Kitty will often phase through walls just to surprise Mr. Pickles, and she giggles every time he gets excited when she suddenly appears out of nowhere.
- Kitty spoils Mr. Pickles, always showing up with a new toy or treat for him. The two of them play together constantly, with Kitty making little obstacle courses or using her phasing powers to make the games even more entertaining. Mr. Pickles gets excited whenever she’s around, bounding toward her with his wagging tail.
- She affectionately refers to Mr. Pickles as “her little buddy” and is always ready to watch him if you’re busy. Kitty fully supports your relationship with him and even jokes that she might adopt her own dog one day—though she’s sure no dog could ever be quite as lovable as Mr. Pickles.
Tumblr media
Rogue:
- Rogue is a little wary of Mr. Pickles at first, not because she dislikes dogs but because she’s worried about accidentally hurting him with her powers. You reassure her constantly, but she still keeps her distance for a while. Eventually, she relaxes enough to let him sit by her, and soon enough, Mr. Pickles is curled up on her lap.
- Once she gets used to him, Rogue finds Mr. Pickles incredibly cute. She often watches him run around with an amused smile, and she loves how much joy he brings you. Rogue even makes little knitted sweaters for him to wear during the colder months, often teasing you, “Ah hope he appreciates all this fashion work, sugar.”
- Mr. Pickles, naturally, adores Rogue, and even though she’s careful, he always tries to get her attention. Rogue finds herself talking to him in her soft Southern accent, calling him “darlin’” and “sweet boy” as he flops down beside her during quiet moments.
Tumblr media
Colossus (Piotr Rasputin):
- Piotr is immediately taken with Mr. Pickles, finding the dog’s small size and silly demeanor amusing. He’s so large compared to Mr. Pickles that he’s extra careful whenever the dog is around, treating him like a fragile little thing. He’ll sometimes pick Mr. Pickles up with one hand and chuckle at how weightless the dog is in comparison.
- Piotr has a gentle, nurturing nature, so he treats Mr. Pickles with the utmost kindness. You’ll often find the two of them napping together, with Mr. Pickles sprawled out on Piotr’s massive chest, snoozing peacefully. It’s a sight that never fails to warm your heart.
- Piotr likes to create little pieces of art for Mr. Pickles, whether it’s a painted portrait of the dog or a small sculpture. He’s proud of his work and enjoys capturing the dog’s “unique personality.” Whenever he presents one of his creations, he’ll say, “For our little friend,” with a warm smile, and you can tell he’s grown just as fond of Mr. Pickles as you are.
Tumblr media
Warren Worthington III (Angel):
- Warren is initially indifferent toward Mr. Pickles. He’s used to living a glamorous, high-society life, so a small, not-so-smart dog wasn’t exactly in his plans. But after seeing how much you adore Mr. Pickles, Warren softens. He’s the kind of partner who will buy the dog luxury bedding, gourmet treats, and custom-made collars because, “If he’s part of your life, he deserves the best.”
- Despite his aloof attitude, Warren secretly spoils Mr. Pickles. He’s taken the dog on private jet flights, giving him a first-class experience that most humans could only dream of. You often joke that Mr. Pickles lives a more extravagant life than most people, and Warren just smirks, saying, “He’s part of our family, after all.”
- Over time, Warren grows fond of Mr. Pickles’ goofy, clueless demeanor. The dog’s lack of intelligence makes him laugh, especially when Mr. Pickles tries to chase Warren’s wings as they flutter. “He’s not the brightest, but I suppose that’s part of his charm,” Warren says with a chuckle.
Tumblr media
Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr):
- Erik is not easily impressed by much, and Mr. Pickles is no exception. Initially, he doesn’t understand your attachment to such a small, seemingly helpless creature. However, he respects your love for the dog and, over time, comes to see Mr. Pickles as a symbol of your compassion and humanity.
- Though Erik doesn’t outwardly express affection for Mr. Pickles, he’s subtly protective of him. On more than one occasion, you’ve noticed Erik using his magnetic powers to move metal objects out of the dog’s way when he’s about to run into something. He’ll never admit it, but Erik has a soft spot for the little dog because he knows how much Mr. Pickles means to you.
- Erik has a dry sense of humor when it comes to Mr. Pickles. He often remarks, “If only the world’s problems were as simple as this dog’s mind.” But when he sees you smile at his sarcastic quips, Erik can’t help but be grateful that Mr. Pickles brings you so much joy in an otherwise dark world.
Tumblr media
Laura Kinney (X-23/Wolverine):
- Laura is not used to small, vulnerable creatures, so Mr. Pickles is a bit of an enigma to her at first. She’s hyper-aware of how fragile he is, and for a while, she keeps her distance, not wanting to accidentally hurt him. But after seeing how much you love Mr. Pickles, Laura slowly begins to warm up to the idea of having a small dog around.
- Over time, Laura becomes incredibly protective of Mr. Pickles. She keeps a close eye on him when he’s wandering around, making sure he doesn’t get into trouble. “He’s helpless,” she’ll say matter-of-factly, but it’s clear that she’s grown attached to him. She’s even gone so far as to use her enhanced senses to find him when he’s lost in the house.
- Laura starts to see Mr. Pickles as part of her small, chosen family. She’ll sit with him on her lap while sharpening her claws, and when you catch her being gentle with him, she’ll shrug and say, “He’s harmless. I don’t mind.” Despite her tough exterior, it’s clear that Laura cares deeply for both you and Mr. Pickles.
Tumblr media
Charles Xavier:
- Charles is amused by your relationship with Mr. Pickles, seeing it as an extension of your kindness and empathy. He finds the little dog’s simplicity refreshing in a world filled with complex, troubled minds. Occasionally, Charles will check in on Mr. Pickles telepathically, smiling to himself when he senses nothing but pure, unfiltered joy.
- While Charles can’t physically interact with Mr. Pickles as easily as others, he enjoys watching the dog from afar. When Mr. Pickles gets into trouble, like trying to chew on furniture, Charles will calmly use his telepathy to guide the dog away from danger. “He means well,” Charles will say with a knowing smile whenever Mr. Pickles does something silly.
- Charles has a deep appreciation for how much happiness Mr. Pickles brings into your life. He often encourages you to take time for the dog, believing that such simple joys are important in maintaining a sense of balance and peace. “He’s a reminder of the little things that make life beautiful,” Charles often remarks, fully understanding why you treat Mr. Pickles like your child.

Destined Part 2
Tumblr media
Warnings: Kidnapping, mentions of killing I know this part is really bad but I promise the next one will be better
Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
Kamar taj is not like anything I had expected it to be. It was a fortress with many young sorcerers training or that's what they were supposed to be doing. Instead they all stood still, waiting for the fight that was bound to happen.
I stood downstairs with America as the roof above us shook violently signifying the fight that was happening upstairs.
“We have to get you out of here.” Strange spoke as he entered the room. Wong explained to us that Kamar taj had fallen and I took a deep breath. I knew Wanda was capable of a lot of things but killing a bunch of innocent people like this? This was madness.
Suddenly the doors began to slam shut and people disappeared into puddles.
We had to quickly cover all reflectable surfaces but America was too slow and suddenly Wanda appeared in front of us. Wanda made eye contact with me before she went on to explain how her multiverse self had children in every other universe. How those children weren’t just hers but mine.
“None of that is real Wanda.” I spoke, stepping forwards ignoring America pulling my arm back. “At least not in this universe. You choose your life. You choose to cheat on me with vision. To create a life and children with him. Not me.” Wanda took a step towards me and softly caressed my face with her hand before gripping my jaw tightly. I heard a gasp from behind me and could feel the way Strange prepared himself to step in.
“You do not get to speak to me that way, little one. Even if you may not think so, you are still mine. Once I get America's powers I am going to get our children and we will be a perfect family. Now step out of my way.” She releases the grip on my jaw and I step back towards Strange and America.
“I'm sorry Wanda but I will not let you kill a kid or tear apart a happy family.” With my words Stange sends a creature towards Wanda but she is quick to fight them off and send Strange flying into a wall. She lifts America into the air and I am quick to send a white burst of energy flying towards her but she only dogages it glaring at me.
“Stay back” She growls as she uses her magic to cuff my arms behind my back.
I watch in horror as Wanda uses her magic to suck the energy out of America.
“STOP STOP. WANDA STOP!” I shout and her attention turns back to me. “Don’t hurt her!” I scream again. Suddenly everything seems to go in slow motion as I watch Strange jump towards America knocking her back into the portal she had created. I hear Wanda scream angrily as it closes right behind them and then I feel the pain in my head as she grips my hair tightly dragging me outside.
I say nothing as tears fall down my face from both the pain and the destruction around me. And nothing as suddenly my vision goes black.
When I wake up I look around confused as I notice my surroundings. Looking around I notice I'm in a bedroom. There are curtains half open on the windows and the door leading out of the room is cracked open. Slowly I sit up and begin to make my way towards the door. My eyes widen as I look down the hallway and see Wanda step out of a portal and into the living room.
When she sees me she smiles and beckons me over.
“I'm glad you're finally awake Bunny. Come have a seat.” When I refuse to come towards her she frowns and flicks her wrist sending me flying towards her. Out of fear I attempt to send an energy blast at her but panic when I realize I can’t.
“What did you do to me!” I yell as I struggle against her magic.
“Just a little spell to keep you in line. Your powers do not work anymore. Thanks to the dark hold our powers are no longer balanced.” She speaks as if it's the most simple thing in the world.
“America did you..?” I ask, remembering the portal she had just created.
“No. Her and Strange got away. The portal was to my throne.” she takes a look at my confused face before giggling. “You're such a naive little bunny. At first my goal was to gain America's powers so that I could steal the life of my counterpart but once she got away I figured why do that when I can just have my own. Even if I have to make you give me what I want.”

Her eyes sensed him before she saw him. He was supposed to be in Birmingham, not at the grand opening of a jazz club in south London. He was supposed to be taking his wife out for a nice dinner and a picture show. She specifically booked this trip for him, on this particular weekend, so that he would be away. So that he could keep up appearances, and she could…
She sighed, her jaw tensing as she noticed one of his men sit in the booth across from her.
“Are you okay, love?” her date asked.
Forcing a smile, she nodded, trying to focus on the band and the music.
She agreed to the date as a favor to her sister. She was a widow - a young widow. Young enough to marry again and bear children. Young enough for people to start asking questions. The grace she received while in mourning had quickly disappeared once people remembered who her husband was and what he did. She was lucky that he died the way he did, they whispered. Even more lucky that he passed while she was still young.
“Would you like to dance?”
She turned to the lanky man, noting the hope coating his words. Their date was for appearances, but he wanted her. He wanted tonight to end with her in his arms, looking up at him with the same adoration he wore on his face. He wanted more than she could give him. He wanted her to be someone she couldn’t be. He wanted something that didn’t belong to him. He wanted something that wasn’t his to have.
And wistfully, she had believed that she could end things between them before they could start. Let him down gently. End things cordially. Give him enough hope that when he eventually met the woman he would marry, she would at least get an invite to the wedding. She had wanted to do all this, on this weekend, because he - the man staring daggers into her back - was supposed to be in Birmingham.
“I think the show is about to end,” she responded.
The man frowned, looking around the room at the club that was packed with patrons. “What do you mean? The night’s just begun.” He leaned closer, tracing her cheek. “Don’t worry, love. I promise I’ll keep you close, and I won’t let you go.”
“I-” she started to say as the first gunshot rung in the air, accompanied by screams and yells.
The man ducked down, while she barely flinched. The first shot cleared the dance floor. The second created a mass exodus as people pushed past each other to get to the doors. Her date reached for her, his eyes scanning the room while his arms wrapped around her.
“You should go,” she warned him as another shot echoed in the empty room.
“I won’t leave you,” he promised, clutching her arms. The bravado in his voice was endearing, and if she was the type of woman that he wanted her to be, she would have fallen for him right then and there. But his promise was short lived when he heard the gun click behind him. He jumped out of his chair, pushing her to the side as he followed the crowd.
Looking up at the man holding the gun, she frowned, knowing he was just following orders, and yet, she was thoroughly annoyed by him and this whole … ruse.
“Sorry, miss,” he offered as if that was enough of an apology.
She smoothed her dress, ignoring him as she waited for his master - the man who disrupted her night, ending it before it could begin, ending it before she could even enjoy one set.
“Where is he?” she asked.
“He had to leave to attend to business. He asks that you stay. He won’t be long,” the man explained.
Annoyed, she let out a breathy chuckle before standing up. “I’ll be going home now.”
“Sorry, miss. I can’t let you do that.”
“What’s your name?”
“Uh,” he stuttered. “I’m actually not supposed to talk to you. My job is to make sure that you’re here when he gets back. Mr. Shelby says that he’ll put a bullet in my head if I let you leave.”
Holding in a frustrated groan, she sat back down, crossing her legs as she stared at the empty stage. Despite the gunshots, the police hadn’t arrived, which meant Tommy had probably paid them off like he did everyone else in the city. And sitting there, quietly waiting for him to arrive, she wondered if she was like them: the people Thomas Shelby paid to do his bidding. He wrote about their love, proclaimed to her when she was between his legs, but some days when Tommy was in one of those moods, she wondered if he truly belonged to her, the way she belonged to him.
The man moved a few steps behind her, brushing away broken glass before sitting down in one of the booths. Oddly, the sound of him breathing was the only thing keeping her sane. If it wasn’t for his heavy breathing, she might believe this was all a dream.
The minutes droned on before she heard that familiar voice. “Where is she?”
The man behind her abruptly stood up. “Right here, Mr. Shelby.”
“Good man,” he acknowledged the guard as he entered the now empty ballroom.
The man quickly scurried away leaving her alone with him: the man who was supposed to be in Birmingham with his wife. The man who at this very moment was supposed to be watching a picture show with his wife. The man who asked her to plan a getaway for him and his wife to keep up appearances. The man who had a wife. The man with the wife and the fucking promises.
She didn’t turn around to greet him, which amused him. He forgot how much he enjoyed making her angry. Tommy paced his steps, studying her as he moved to stand before her cutting eyes.
“Yes, Mr. Shelby,” she said through gritted teeth. “Is there anything I can help you with?”
Although he was annoyed by the use of his surname, Thomas Shelby smirked. He took a step towards her, gently tilting her face up, so she was forced to look at him. And when she did, he slowly let his hands fall, his thumb tracing the length of her neck before dipping to touch her collarbone. She shivered, and his eyes lit up with recognition.
“You made me a promise,” he stated coolly.
She leaned away from his touch, crossing her arms as she glared up at him. “I must have forgot. Remind me.”
“No. More. Running,” Tommy emphasized, his gaze set on her.
“I work for you. I live in the apartment you bought for me. I spend most, if not all, my evenings with you. I let you fuck me wh-” she stopped, taking a deep breath. “I am not running from you, Tommy. I am undoubtedly yours.”
“Well, I don’t like to share what’s mine.”
She scoffed, rubbing her eyes as she tried to remember why she loved this man. “It was one date. One. Date.”
“Did you wear this for him?” He eyed the white dress her sister had insisted she wear.
“A favor,” she raised her voice as she finally stood up. “It was a fucking favor.”
“I didn’t realize you were available for favors. How much does a favor go for these days?”
She slapped him hard, but he caught her hand before she could pull away from him.
“You wanted my attention, so here, you finally have it,” he whispered.
Her eyes simmered, but she didn’t back down. “You made promises to me as well.”
“Remind me,” he said plainly.
The words were on her lips. She wanted to remind him of their fight in his office and their vows at her house. Marriage. Babies. A love that would withstand the cruelties of this world. A promise that she would be his as much as he would be hers. The words were on her lips, yet she couldn’t bring herself to say them.
“Remind me,” he repeated more softly, bringing her head to his. “Remind me of my promises.”
“Tommy,” she sighed.
“Remind me.”
“Tommy,” she pleaded, her emotions threatening to rise from the place she had buried them.
“I know.” He cradled her face. “You deserve more. You deserve better. You don’t deserve what I am… what I’ve…become. What I have put you through.”
Her brows furrowed as she really looked at him - all of him. “What happened?”
“If you marry me, you’ll be marrying a curse.”
“Tommy, what’s wrong?” she asked anxiously, sensing something shift within him.
“I have no limits,” he warned. “You will share my fate.”
This time, she was the one who held on to him, trying to decipher his words and all the little things he wasn’t saying.
“But, I promise to remind you of where you belong,” Tommy said thoughtfully.
“And where is it that I belong?” she asked, smiling as he moved her hand to his heart.
“Do you remember this place?” he moved on, changing the subject before she could relish in his tenderness.
She looked around at the empty ballroom, confused by Tommy’s sudden interest in the jazz club.
“It used to be a pub. The one place coppers wouldn’t bother after a certain hour, and the only place that would start serving at ten in the morning.” He turned her towards the glass doors, so they could look out at the quiet street. “You were walking through that market the first time I laid my eyes on you.”
“What are you on about, Tommy?”
“Six months. I came into this pub for six months to get a drink at ten in the morning, and every time I did, I would see you walking by. And if I was a different man, I would have let you go. I would have let you remain a fantasy in my head, but I wanted you. Then, I needed you. And now…”
“And now…” she repeated, waiting for him to finish his thoughts.
“Mr. Shelby,” the heavy breathing man called out, “he’s ready.”
She frowned, staring at the man before looking back at Tommy.
“I signed the papers,” he explained.
“Papers?”
He brushed her cheek, ignoring her question as he asked one of his own. “And where is it that I belong?” he proposed, not giving her a second to process all that was happening around them.
She lifted his hand to her heart, finally noticing his missing wedding band. “Papers,” she uttered. “You signed the papers.”
“We should go. The priest is waiting for us,” Tommy announced.
“Wait.” She clutched his arm, still confused by his proposal and his confession. This was what he was: a romantic and a brute. Harsh and tender. Hot and cold. Sometimes, she felt like she was drowning when she was with him. But just when it felt too much, the waves changed, and the water stilled. And he made her feel like she was floating.
“Birmingham,” she finally said.
Tommy raised his brows, yet his eyes revealed nothing. He was asking her to marry him, and yet, he was wearing his infamous blank stare.
“I needed to get the rings and to have them blessed,” he explained. “Lift any curses that may have been placed.”
“You said you needed to keep up appearances.”
“I needed you busy.” He shrugged.
She squinted at him as the pieces started to fall into place. “The date? The favor?”
“I needed to make sure that you would be here tonight.”
She pressed her lips together. She wasn’t sure if she should be angry, hurt, or happy.
“Why did you destroy the place?” she asked, wondering about the gunshots and the chaos.
Tommy waited a beat before cupping her chin. “He shouldn’t have fucking touched you.”
She ignored his jealousy, still confused by his actions. “Why tonight? Why here?” She took a breath. “Why?”
He reached for her hand, stepping on cracked glass as he led her to the doors. There was a certainty in his touch, his steps, his presence that made her follow him willingly. When his hands snaked around her waist as he stood behind her, she leaned into him, forgetting her anger.
“You used to work for that tailor.” He pointed to the store across the street. “And you would shop at that market. On Wednesdays, you’d be carrying flowers. It took six months for me to become infatuated. A year before I started making promises to myself about you.”
“What promises?” she asked.
“If I could go an hour without thinking about you, I would drink,” he confessed.
Her bottom lip frowned as she blinked up at him. She knew she wasn’t responsible for his sobriety. He was still drinking when they met but knowing that he used the thought of her as a reason to drink less, stirred something within her.
“Then, I promised myself that I would let you go,” Tommy continued.
She frowned, surprised that he had tried to let her go before ever meeting her. That his desire for her had scared him enough to deny himself what he wanted.
“Why didn’t you… let me go? What changed?”
“You came into the pub and ordered a water.” He kissed the crown of her head as he settled into the memory. “You pissed off the bartender, but you were firm. And when he finally gave you what you wanted, you threw it back in his face.”
She smiled, remembering the bartender who had broken her sister’s heart. That morning seemed so long ago, but hearing Tommy recount what happened brought her back to a time that felt so far away from who she was now.
“Right then, I knew I was in love.”
Her heart jumped as she turned to look at him. If she was remembering things right, it would mean that he had been in love with her for nearly two years before they ever met.
“You didn’t know me,” she argued, quietly stunned by his admission. “How could you love me…when…”
“A man like me knows.” Tommy caressed her face, brushing her smooth skin as he watched her eyes soften. “I knew I belonged to you before I ever met you and that scared me.”
Awareness colored her face as every aspect of their relationship started to make sense. The back and forth. The arguments. The ways in which he tried to push her away. The letters. The poetry. The drinking. Thomas Shelby, who prided himself on his ambition and lack of fear, had been scared of her.
Tommy glanced around at the empty ballroom. “I fell in love with you here, right in this very room. I had my last drink here, over there in that corner. And I promised myself that when I finally had you in my arms, I would do things right.” He paused, looking up at the ceiling. “You hear that, Polly. I’m going to marry her first before the baby comes.”
She laughed to keep herself from crying because it was all too much.
“I was dead before, but you brought me back.”
Her hands gripped his arm as she fell for him all over again. She leaned her head against his, remembering why she was in love with him.
“And now…” He brushed his lips against hers. “I promise to have and to hold,” he began but she interrupted him with a kiss, pulling him into her while he laughed.
“Don’t you ever do this to me again, Thomas Shelby,” she warned in between each kiss. “I don’t care how romantic this all is. Next time you want to marry me, you’ll get down on one knee and ask.”
“Alright,” he agreed, lowering down to one knee as he pulled out the box he had been carrying with him for years. “Will you-”
“Yes,” she said breathlessly, leaning down to kiss him all over again.

Moves & Countermoves (Prologue)
Haymitch x Fem!Reader
Summary: No one ever wins the games, even fourteen years later, Y/N is still playing.
Tumblr media
The Sixtieth Hunger Games will begin in five, four, three, two, one.
“Mom.” The boy at his mother’s bedside whispers, “Mom.” He shakes her shoulder lightly. She’s dreaming again and now, at the age of nine, he understands why he must be careful when waking her.
Y/N gasps, springing from the mattress, prepared to fight. But then she sees him. Everest, her sweet boy, forged in his father’s image. There is no denying, he’s her husband’s child through and through. “Sorry, sweetheart.” She sighs, letting both hands drop to her sides.
“S’ok.” He shrugs, stuffing worried hands into his pockets. “Dad’s with Arista, she’s pretty upset…doesn’t want you to go.” I don’t want you to go.
“Well,” Y/N forces a smile. “We don’t want to go without you either.” It was just like President Snow to demand they have children and then drag them away each year to mentor the games. Everest and Arista have only been required to join them in the Capitol for fanfare. The games are not about them anymore.
With Y/N aged twenty-nine and Haymitch forty, the novelty of their winnings has worn off. The most fascinating thing about them now is this, their love story and the family created from it. The anomaly that is Y/N Abernathy, Mayor Undersee’s eldest daughter, plucked from the reaping bowl at age fifteen. The girl who once hated her drunk of a mentor and grew to love him as the years passed.
The Capitol adores her, she is their darling. People hang off the edge of their seats, feasting on crumbs, anticipating her next move. What will she be wearing? Which victors sit within her inner circle?
Haymitch allows this, encourages it even. Because it keeps her safe. There is no cost too great. Y/N is everything Haymitch conditioned himself not to want. Snow knows exactly how deep his hooks are in. Killed Haymitch’s family because he didn’t appreciate the way he won the games; with an axe to the force field. Gave him a new family to dangle over his head years later.
Unfortunately for Haymitch, the cost of these theatrics means allowing Y/N’s former stylist to preen over her on reaping day.
Y/N can hear Vanity being ‘warmly’ welcomed by Haymitch on the first floor.
“Come on,” Y/N pats her son’s cheek. “Let’s go.”
Everest grins, racing toward the stairs. They do love their mother’s stylist and they only get to see her twice a year, if they’re lucky.
“You sure that headpiece is getting through the door, V?” Haymitch remarks, watching as the chandelier like dome attached to her skull pushes its way into their home.
Vanity scoffs, “good to see you too, Haymitch. What did you do to my darling?” The blue haired woman gasps at the sight of his five year old daughter, all but hysterical.
“I’m leaving her,” Haymitch sighs, shifting the little girl lightly in his arms.
“Tut, tut, my love.” Vanity coos, “Daddy will be back soon.”
“I want my Mommy to stay.” Arista sniffles, “you can’t take both.”
Everest reaches the bottom stair, saving Vanity from having to respond when he launches himself at the Capitol woman.
“Now this is a welcome,” Vanity ruffles his hair. “Look how big you are, my goodness.”
“I’ll be ten soon.”
“How the time flies.” Vanity catches sight of her victor. The first and only. “Y/N.”
“Hi.” Y/N smiles, wrapping both arms around herself. She is wearing a long sleep shirt with mismatched bottoms. The other woman is surely appalled at the sight.
“Let us…” Vanity’s eyes, unnaturally colored by contacts, flit about her, “get to work.”
————————————————————————
This year there is a bit of excitement at the reaping. Their female tribute actually volunteered, not something people really do in twelve. But it was for her sister and when it comes down to it, if Y/N was put in a position to choose between her little sister, Madge and herself facing the games, she would’ve done the same.
Y/N’s family will tend the children until they return, same as they have every year since the kids were born. Leaving them never gets any easier, especially if one or both is crying when they go. Y/N steps onto the train to the Capitol, still in her ridiculous mirror ball of a gown. Waving their children goodbye.
Haymitch is there, tense hands resting at her shoulders. “They’ll be alright.”
“I know,” Y/N nods.
“We’ll be alright.”
“I know.”

Chin covered in juicy honeys; red nails carved on your hip. Tongue going crazy, in and out of you; in and out, and around, up and down.
“If I could- mngh- I would only- mghj- drink from your cunt” he communicates the best he can, as he is muzzled by your femininity.
Kidd, whose delicacy has never been present, has snatched your body to finally sit on his face. He didn’t even bother to ask you, because he knows he can use your body as much as he pleases… that man is crazy for your flavour, for your scent and your flesh.
You can only moan in response; mind going blank, body trembling and spasming to his desperate tongue motions.
A single arm is enough to keep you on top of his façade, as his back rests on the bed. A bed that has already wet sheets, dampened in sweat and uncontrollable orgasms he has given you. Nights with Eustass Kidd are always extreme sports.
And, indeed, like an extreme sport, your body only relays on his arm to keep you still while humping on his face.
At first, you worried for his oxygen intake; However, Kidd didn’t care in the slightest… to him breathing isn’t important, your core can keep him alive as much as he wishes for.
Yet, this man wanted to watch your face, and your breasts bounce as he eats you out. Not because he didn’t enjoy the look of your ass and small of your back on top of him, but your orgasmic expression can cause him to explode without even touching himself.
As strong as he is, Kidd proceeds to lift you up just a little to order you to turn around. He scoffs, as even detached from his mouth your hips can’t stop moving on their own. Back and forth motions that shows how your body begs for yet another climax.
“I see how much you like this… why don’t you ride me?” he laughs, lifting his arm so you can grip tightly to it.
Your fingers interlock on his, perfect surface to ride his face with even more violence. Your thighs squeeze his cheeks before letting your hips to fall upon his deviated nose and smeared red lipstick lips.
When you do, Kidd’s hip buck up. It’s almost unconscious… that poor man, he is desperate for relief.
Red eyes like fire light up as you begin to move, it’s all a wet sloppy mess. The sound of skin slapping and sopping surfaces makes it even nastier, even better.
Like you were jumping on his dick, you do on his tongue. Delicious sensation that makes you even more aroused, a vicious circle of pleasure and lust that auto fans the flames.
You end up grabbing a fistful of his red hair, also wet as it is covered in sweat -and maybe your fluids too-, to move even more brutally. Back and forth, feeling like an itchy feeling turns in fireworks on your core.
“I’m com-coming…” you stutter, going faster the more you feel like you are on the brink of maximum pleasure.
Kidd can’t speak, but his eyes show how amazed and desperate for you to keep going he is. Your whines are making him create a puddle of precum right under him, the transparent arousal that oozes from his sex, has left a trail from his gland to his balls and into the perineum. It makes that man to fidget underneath you, as if a single touch would push him to go down that brink of climax with you.
When you finally do, covering him with even more produces of your orgasm, he also grunts underneath you. Kidd lifts his hips so much you almost fall, but you definitely get his body’s message… “touch me, please”
“I’m sorry I have neglected you from pleasure…” you apologize, as you immediately jump back and instead of just jerking him off, it is your sex engulfs his desperate dick.

Ichigo and dry humping? how do you think he feels about quickies?
i’m not even gonna comment and just get straight into the actions bc if i give my PERSONAL thoughts, we’ll be here all day 🫠
dry humping is one of the hottest things we can do as humans and you can’t change my mind on that.
now as far as mr. kurosaki is concerned, if you asked him, he’s say he hated it. he would die living that truth. he hated it because it only took only one roll of your hips before he was filling his trousers with his erection, but the feeling of your covered cunt grinding against him made his brain short circuit nonetheless.
he hated it because it sickened him with how easily he lost his cool. the last time you were perched on his lap, you had spoken the filthiest things to him, calling him a slut for the sounds he was making and teasing him about the red hue that had taken over his face. he looked so helpless that day, the sight of his broken visage completely different from the dominant persona he’d taken on a daily basis.
he hated it, because that’s the only time when he’d give into submission.
secretly, there was nothing he loved more than watching you sit in his lap, eyes closed and brows furrowed as you chased the throbbing sensation that enveloped your lower half. his bottom lip would tuck under his teeth as he tried to stop himself from losing control, strained grunts and moans escaping him.
he was a visual person, and the sight of you riding his covered bulge only led him to imagine how pretty you’d be with his cock shoved in you. his hands would place themselves on your hips, guiding them but also using the dips as a release, his fingers digging into the material of your shirt.
he’d grunt in desperation when he leaned in and tried to kiss you, only being greeted by your hand against his chest and forcing him back into the cushioning of the couch. his hips would start to jerk upward, trying to chase the swelling feeling of pleasure that stirred in his belly. you felt so good that he’d completely forgotten the fact of you both still being fully clothed, only focusing on the way his body started to spasm the harder your grinder against him.
“you look so cute like this,” the compliment went straight to ichigo’s cock, his head falling back against the edge of the couch as his eyes screwed shut completely. “look like you’d do whatever i wanted without complaint.”
ichigo huffed, stubby nails making you hiss as they created crescent shapes in your skin.
the part that he hated the most? you were right.
but clearly, you already knew that.
“want you to come right now,” you ordered, making sure that the hands on his chest kept him at bay. “spill all in your underwear baby, i know you can do it.”
it was only at your mention of the clothing that he remembered they adorned his body, a desperate moan showing just how close he was to actually making a mess of himself. your movements only escalated at the sounds of his pleasure, a firm grip on your hips as his body froze, an embarrassed whine falling from his lips as he looked like he could burst into tears at any moment.
when you pulled away there was a visible wet patch in the middle of his jeans, a curse leaving your mouth lowly at the sight. you could feel your cunt clench around nothing, biting your lip at the need growing inside of you.
ichigo’s breathing was labored as the mind fog he’d previously had started to dissipate, eyes sliding open to see you sitting a top of him, lips curled into your mouth as you tried to hide the sadistic smile on your face. when you noticed the expression he wore as he glared back at you, you tried your hand at mending the situation. “…sorry?”
yeah, it’s safe to say that ichigo hates dry humping.
Tumblr media
on the other hand, if ichigo manages to keep a hold of his bearings long enough to catch your intentions, then a quickie is definitely in the picture.
ichigo wasn’t really one for quickies, and that’s actually a true statement. he loved taking his time with you, placing kisses on all the places he knew would drive you crazy. if he wanted to break you, then playing it slow was the way to go. he’d grown accustomed to providing you with lighter touches, toying with you until you were begging for him to ruin you, which he would never oppose.
but when you decided to press your luck with him, trying to draw out the needy version of him that couldn’t fight back, the line between pissed off and horny would cross for just a moment.
he’d gain control just long enough to flip you two over, the angry look on his expression being the only thing you could remember before he was fucking you into whatever surface you were laying on, listening to your cries and apologetic pleas.
“m’sorry!! m’so sorry ichi, i won’t do it again,” you cried, words being muffled by the mattress below. you reached for him in order to slow down his thrusts, only to be fouled by your wrist being pressed into the bed as well.
ichigo would chuckle to himself, tightening his grip on your wrists as you struggled against him. “i wish i could believe you baby, but how many times have you told me that before?”
although it would count as a quickie, your body would feel as if you’d been through hours of torture afterward.

SO HOT YOU'RE HURTING MY FEELINGS
| you and abby broke up a month ago, she creates a plan to get you back.
| wc: 3.5k
| content warnings: 18+ MDNI! set in modern day, alcohol, f!reader, strap usage (reader receiving), oral (reader receiving), pet names, abby's a little mean if you squint, a bit angsty, barely proofread.
| a/n: inspired by the song 'so hot you're hurting my feelings' by caroline polachek
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You didn’t know much, but you did know one thing; Abby Anderson shouldn’t be messed with. You two had broken it off over a slight argument, you didn’t understand why she couldn’t see your side of the story and accept that you weren’t flirting back with her teammate. When you two had the argument over it, the floodgates opened, and you and Abby had laid it all out on the table. By the end of it, you had stormed out of her apartment and went back to yours, finalizing the breakup with a text. You hadn’t talked to her since. The ‘we’re over’ text had been left on read for over a month.
It didn’t stop the hurt though, you looked back through the messages everyday, even though they made you slightly cringe now. It had all been so simple. You spent every second together, and when you weren’t together, there were hundreds of texts to make up for it. You honestly didn’t know how you were still breathing, you missed her more than anything. The rage wore off after the first week, and you haven’t been able to bounce back. But tonight you were dragged to a party by your roommate, and you figured, why not, it was fine to get a little drunk to deal with your feelings every once in a while.
The idea was that you’d be set free by the alcohol; to let loose a little. And you did! You had fun for a solid forty-seven minutes before the fun was disrupted. The second your and Abby’s song turned onto the loud speakers, you were done for. You walk off into the open bathroom and sit down onto the closed lid of the toilet. Your head falls into your hands. The song had sobered you up quick. You take your phone out of your skirt pocket to do what you usually do when you get reminded of Abby, ready to open the instagram app and scroll along her profile, and you would’ve been content doing that, until your phone lights up with a text from her. You open it immediately.
“What the fuck?” You mumble.
You scroll through the multiple photos she’s sent you; all of her at the gym, flexing her muscles. She starts typing, and you feel your heart drop to your stomach.
sorry, wrong person.
You can’t help the scoff that comes out of your mouth. “Seriously?” You say, again, only to yourself.
You don’t give her a response, simply setting your phone on the sink and rubbing a hand over your face. It’s like she knew. She knew you were tipsy and about to stalk her. She knew that you heard the stupid song that you danced around her apartment to. You swear it was a secret sense of hers.
After about ten minutes, you go back out into the party; beelining for the alcohol table. You pour the liquid into a plastic red cup, estimating what you think would be a shot, and send it down the hatch. You were entirely too sober to deal with this situation.
“Hey there, you alright?” Your roommate yells over the loud music.
“She fucking sent me pictures, of her– of her muscles.” You say, now that you were standing, the alcohol started to have its effects again.
“What? Seriously? I’m sorry. Why, exactly?”
“I don’t know, she said wrong person.” you try not to let the tears escape your eyes, not wanting to cause a scene.
“Okay, well, fuck. That’s kind of worse. Did you text her back?” She says, giving you a panicked look.
“Of course not, what am I supposed to say?”
“It’s gonna be alright, let’s just have fun, okay?” She smiles at you, trying to reassure you of her words.
You nod your head and she moves you back onto the dance floor. Again, with the alcohol in your system, you start to have a good time again. You dance and laugh and have fun; you don’t even check your phone. You don’t keep track of how much you keep drinking, but you’re sporting a hefty buzz by the time you sit down on the couch for a break. Your head spins as you pull out your phone to check the time. The bright 2:13 stares back at you, and then your attention is caught by a notification on your phone, Abby has refollowed you on instagram. You groan, hadn’t she done enough tonight?
Suddenly, you felt the overwhelming urge to call her, even though you know you shouldn’t. You were doing so good, so good! And a few pictures and an instagram notification were enough to convince drunk-you that calling her was a good idea. You walk down the staircase of the apartment complex and go outside to the picnic table that sits in front of the building. You recognize some people from the party smoking, but you don’t pay them any mind. You open Abby’s contact on your phone. Your finger hovers over the call button. Should you really do this? Should you reopen this wound that you were working so hard to close? But on the otherhand, should Abby be allowed to fuck with you like this? No, no. She had to know that she needed to stop. You press the call button and bring your phone to your ear, listening to it ring.
She picks up after the third ring, “Um, hello?”
“Yeah, hi. I need you to stop. I don’t want to see pictures of you being hot at the gym and I don’t want you to follow me on instagram. We’re done, so I don’t know why you’d send me pictures and when I don’t respond you follow me again. I really– I can’t do this, okay?” You ramble into the phone, the alcohol gives you more courage than you would’ve had sober.
“Okay, well, the photos were an accident–”
“Bullshit,” you cut her off. “That’s bullshit. And I know it is, because I know you.”
“Are you drunk right now?
“I’m at a party, yeah. That’s why I need you to stop. I’m having fun.”
“I’m coming to get you.” You hear a muffled noise of bed sheets being pushed off her body.
“No, you’re not. You don’t know where I am.” You say smugly.
“You think I don’t get invited to the same parties that you do, sweetheart? I’m on my way.” Abby says, she hangs up the phone directly after so you can’t talk back.
You feel hot all over. The anger and the alcohol heat you up. You already regret the call, and now you have to deal with telling your roommate that Abby is coming to get you. You decide to text her instead of telling her to her face. The alcohol gave you confidence, but not enough to tell her that you were being picked up by the girl who’d left you bedridden for two days.
so, funny story, abby is on her way to pick me up, sorry. see u later ok?
You put your phone back into your pocket after sending the message, not daring to pull it back out once it starts vibrating. You sit on the table and wait for Abby’s car to pull up in front of the building. You will yourself to sober up before seeing her. You know that your mouth will betray you if you try to speak to her while you’re drunk. You also know that you won’t be as brave as you were over the phone. Talking shit behind the screen is one thing, but being face to face with Abby is another. She’s so intimidating, even now. Her height and her build, the calm expression she has on her face at all times. The most you could get out of her was a jaw twitch, and that was only if you had been arguing for a few hours.
You hear her car before you see it; her brakes have always been squeaky. She pulls up fast, having to slam on the brakes to fully stop in front of you. It seems like she hasn’t forgotten her manners, because before you can open the door of her car, she’s getting out of the driver’s seat and opening it for you. Once you sit down, she even buckles your seatbelt. Honestly, she was making it really hard to stay mad. The action almost makes you cry again.
She walks back to her side and gets in, putting the car in drive and speeding off. You turn your legs towards the door and put your chin in your hand. Abby scoffs at the childish action, but doesn’t say anything. She doesn’t have music playing on the radio, so all you hear is the wind rustling through the open windows. Your hair flies back and forth, and you make a big display of trying to smooth it down. Abby's hair is always in a braid, so she doesn’t see a problem with driving like this.
Before you know it, you’re pulling into a parking spot at Abby’s apartment complex. This time you’re quicker than her, unbuckling the seatbelt and opening the car door.
“I don’t want to come in.” You say. “I thought you were taking me to my place.” A lie, you figured she would bring you here, but you were scared to go in; scared of the memories it would bring up.
“You’re coming inside, so…” She trails off, waving her hand towards the door.
Your eyes well up, you look down at your feet so she doesn’t see. “Can you just take me home, please?”
“No, get inside. We need to talk.” The voice she uses sobers you up quicker than anything else ever could.
When you walk into her apartment, you take a seat on her dark brown couch. She walks to the kitchen and gets you a bottle of water, taking the lid off and handing it to you once she’s back into the living room. She sits on a chair across from you, putting her elbows onto her thighs and watching you greedily gulp down the water.
It does help your head feel a bit clearer, “Thank you.” You say to her.
“Let’s talk,” she says.
“About what, Abby?”
“About why we should get back together.”
You laugh at her, it’s loud and obnoxious; one only she could pull from you. “Why would we do that?”
“Because I know you, and I know you miss me. I miss you too. I miss having you here every second and I miss texting you when you’re not here.”
“Okay, so, that’s not how this is going to work. You can’t just say you miss me without addressing why we broke up in the first place.”
She moves her chair closer to you. “And why did we break up in the first place?”
You scoff, “Because you’re possessive, and you have a jealousy issue. I talked to Mara for three seconds and we had a three hour long argument over it.”
“You used to like how possessive I was, you said it was one of your favorite things about me.”
“I did like it, I liked it when you were subtle with it. What I don’t like is getting crucified for speaking to another girl.”
“Crucified, really? God, you’re fucking dramatic.”
You huff; take another sip of your water. “This is exactly why I didn’t want to come in.” You mumble.
“Speak up for me, please. Y’know I hate it when you mumble.” Abby says, her patience running thin.
“I said that this is why I didn’t want to come in. I knew it would just be the fight all over again. I didn’t do anything wrong. She asked me how my classes were going, Abby.”
“Yeah, she also asked other girls on the team how serious we were, because she was trying to get in your fucking pants.” Abby snips, getting up out of the chair so that she can pace around.
Your mouth opens and closes. You hadn’t known that Mara was talking about you like that. She had flirted with you in the past. She was in your major, so you saw her around your lecture halls and at various parties hosted by other people you had in common. You had flirted back a few times, but it was nothing serious, just some fun banter at a few parties. She had stopped once you and Abby became official, so you thought that was the end of it. Obviously, it wasn’t.
You clear your throat, “Okay, I didn’t know that.”
“But you knew that she tried to before.”
“Abby, I’m serious when I say that nothing ever happened between us, and especially not when we were together. Do you actually believe I would cheat on you?”
Abby puts her hands on her hips and lets out a sigh, “No, I don’t.”
“So why did you fight with me over someone else’s actions?”
She sits back down in the chair. “I don’t know.”
You go and stand in front of her, she doesn’t look up at you, so you crouch down on the floor.
After a while, she speaks, “Maybe I do have a jealousy problem.”
You laugh, and she cracks a smile. “Yeah, I think you do.”
“I’m sorry, really.” She says, making sure to look directly into your eyes. “I mean it. I fucked up, but I wanna fix it. I do miss you, a lot.”
“I miss you too.” You admit. It’s quiet again, Abby brushes your hair off of your face. You can’t help but lean into her touch, her large palm is warm; it feels familiar, it feels like home. You blink up at her, “Are you going to admit that the photos were for me?”
She laughs and sniffles, you hadn’t even realized she had started crying. “Yeah, whatever. They were for you.”
You look down and laugh again. “God, I missed that sound.” Abby says.
She pulls you off the ground and places you in her lap. You touch your forehead to hers, staring intently into her eyes, her pupils seem to have expanded since earlier this evening, and you’re sure yours were just as large. You brush your nose against hers and lean your face down. If either of you were to twitch, your lips would touch.
“We gonna do this?” Abby says, barely above a whisper. Scared that if she talked louder you’d get spooked and run away.
“Make up sex sounds good to me.” You agree.
It feels like there’s a different Abby now. A hungry wolf that’s been waiting to be set free. She kisses you with such force that you move back on her lap. If she didn’t have her hands holding you up, you might’ve fallen off. Your hips grind down into her by instinct, trying to search for some friction to soothe the ache between your legs. Abby pushes your hips down onto her thigh and rolls them, forcing you to grind on the strong muscle. She doesn’t stop kissing you even for a second. You think if Abby had a superpower, it would be sex.
Suddenly she’s standing, you wrap your legs around her waist and your arms around her neck; she still doesn’t break the kiss. She brings you into her bedroom, and you feel your eyes well up with tears. The wave of relief it sends through you is insane. You didn’t know if you’d ever be back in this room, under Abby. You didn’t know if you’d ever see her pillows or her closet again. It sounds silly, but you’ve truly missed everything about her.
She pulls away panting, “Why y’crying, baby?”
“I don’t know. Missed you; missed this room.”
She smiles and leans back down for a kiss, it’s less heated; more loving. She pushes the shirt you’re wearing up and places kisses down your stomach. You gasp as she lightly drags her tongue right above where your skirt starts. Your hips lift, urging her to take it off; urging her to get closer to where you need her.
“Gonna make it up to you, okay? Gonna make you feel so fucking good, not even gonna remember why we broke up.”
“Okay, please.” You say back to her. You place your hand on the top of her head, slowly unraveling the tight braid she has in.
She doesn’t even take the time to take off the black maxi skirt you have on, just pushes it up your legs and takes off your panties. She stares at your cunt for a few seconds. You can feel her hot breath fanning over it. A whine falls from your lips; and suddenly she’s licking a stripe up your slit.
A moan comes from your chest. You haven’t been touched the whole month, not even by yourself. Every time you tried to masturbate, you just thought about sex with Abby, which only made you upset. You snap out of your thoughts when you feel Abby suck on your clit, it sends you reeling. You push her face further into you, and your thighs close in on her head. The noises you’re making are absurd. You’re sure her neighbors are going to leave a note on the door, but at this moment you couldn’t care less.
It’s embarrassing how fast the coil gets tight in your stomach.
“Fuck– Abby, think I’m gonna–” you can’t get a full sentence out. The words begin and end on your tongue.
She pulls her mouth away and presses her fingers into your clit, rubbing tight circles on it. “Already, bunny? Just got started.”
“I know.” It comes out whiner than you wanted it to. “I know, I’m sorry. Just feels so good.”
“That’s alright, sweetheart. Come when you wanna, I’ll be right here.” Her mouth reconnects with your cunt.
You think it’s about ten seconds before you’re coming. You let the tears fall freely for the first time tonight. You feel so happy, your chest gets tight. Your hips grind into Abby’s mouth. She’s always been like this; staying latched onto your cunt until your orgasm is done. You cry out at the overstimulation once you’re back on Earth. She removes her mouth to shush you, pressing more kisses to your neck and moving your hair off of your sweaty forehead. Your head is reeling, your vision is blurry.
Abby comes up and kisses you on your cheek. “You want the strap?”
A wave of arousal flows through you at the mention of it, “Would it be make up sex without it?”
She laughs and gets off the bed, going to her closet to retrieve the box where it’s stored. She strips while she’s over there, and puts her clothes in the dirty laundry. Always so neat, can never have anything out of place. Once she gets it settled on her waist, she comes back over to you.
“You ready, baby?”
You nod your head.
“Words, please.” She gives you a soft smile. “You forget your manners?”
“No,” you say, voice hoarse from the moaning. “I’m ready, Abby.”
She lines up the strap with your hole, and gently eases it in. You pant. You didn’t forget your manners, but you did forget how good the stretch feels. She bottoms out; the strap kisses the sweet spot inside of you.
“Fuck,” you whimper.
“Is this okay?” She asks. She’s staring down at where her hips meet yours and you can tell she’s fighting off the urge to thrust into you until you answer her.
“Yes, can you just– please move.”
Abby doesn’t need to be asked twice. Her hips grind into yours with all the force in the world. You can tell that the strap is hitting her clit because of the grunts she’s letting out. The room feels humid at this point, and you’re sure it stinks of sex.
“You’re mine, yeah? No one else can ever have you.”
“You have–” you’re interrupted by a moan as she starts rubbing at your clit again. “You have a jealousy problem.”
Abby scoffs, “Gonna give me fucking attitude right now? When I’ve got my cock buried in this pretty little pussy?”
You whimper at your words. You always get off on Abby telling you off. You love how dominating she is. You love watching her brows raise when you say something questionable. You can’t help but rile her up.
“You do, it’s bad. You need to work on it.”
“Stop being a brat and come on my fucking cock.”
Her words send you over the edge, this time further than you think you’ve ever been. She follows you soon after, keeping the strap buried in you while her orgasm washes over her. When you both come back, she’s fallen beside you, the silicone lays on the floor. She breathes deeply beside you.
“So…” You say.
“So what, baby?” Abby says. She decides you’re too far away and pulls you into her chest.
“Are we back together?”
She laughs at you, really laughs. Like you’ve just said the funniest thing in the world. “Are you seriously asking me that?”
You start laughing too, “Well, I don’t know!”
“Yeah, we’re back together.”
Your smile widens and you hide your face in her chest, suddenly embarrassed by the question that slipped out.
“Okay, well good.” You say.
You drift off like that, content to be back in Abby’s arms. Happy to be home.

Arianwyn hardly made it out of Maegor’s Holdfast before her legs failed her, and she collapsed against a wall, frozen in her fear. She hung her head between her knees as she dragged a hand through her hair, not caring when she thoroughly dismantled the braided bun Baela had created no more than an hour earlier.
How had everything gone so wrong?
Only minutes ago, she had been sitting with Aemond, her hand on his thigh and his eye on her lips, feeling as though nothing else mattered.
Now, she was sure it would be the last time she saw him smile for a long while, if not forever. Daemon would not forgive his words nor how he had easily dispatched Jace, and certainly not his open display of affection towards her. Her father would do everything in his power to keep them apart. Even when she was of age, he would fight against her happiness with everything he had.
“Aria!” Aemond’s voice echoing through the hall stopped her from spiraling further into paranoia and despair. She stood to grab onto him as he crashed into her, holding her tight to his chest as though he would never let her go.
His voice strained with desperation as he whispered into her hair. “Aria, I am so sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I just got so angry, and I should have known better. I should have…”
Arianwyn shook her head into his chest, failing to stop his blustering as he pressed kiss after kiss onto her hair.
“I won’t let him hurt you, I promise. I’ll stand guard outside your bedchamber myself. I’ll – ”
“Aemond, please, I have to tell you something.”
“Anything, Aria.”
“I…” she held back her tears just long enough to bite out, “I’m leaving. Tonight.”
Silence.
It had not felt real until it left her lips, she realized. The child still in her that had once loved reading fairy tales with Aemond was hoping for some kind of miracle, something to give her a happy ending and take away all her fears. Even as she packed her bag with Brynna and practiced opening the hidden door again and again until she knew exactly where to press the keystone, it felt like a faraway dream.
It had not been real until Aemond knew.
He stared at the wall, blinking furiously. “You said you wouldn’t leave me again.”
She pulled away, gazing up at him with eyes full of determination and regret. “I don’t want to, Aemond. Please believe me. But I must.”
“Daemon is forcing you back to Dragonstone? When did he – ”
“It is not that, Aemond.” She shook her head, unable to find the words to explain.
“Then why?” It sounded almost like an accusation.
“Because Daemon will never allow me to stay here, and I would rather die than return to Dragonstone.”
Aemond went unnaturally still, his eye focused and intense like a gathering storm. He raised a hand to Arianwyn’s cheek, his hold at once firm and gentle. “Aria… where are you going?”
“There are tunnels throughout the castle,” she explained. “Rhaenys showed me. Brynna and I will use them tonight, as will Ser Warren. We’ll go to Runestone, and I will hide until I am of age and Daemon holds no more power over me.”
Aemond scoffed, though his eye shone with angry tears. “A stupid plan. Runestone is the first place he’ll look for you. He will have you within a month, if not sooner.”
“Then I will hide someplace else!” Arianwyn hissed, not wanting to raise her voice for fear of being discovered with his arms around her, holding her like a lover. “But I cannot stay here, and I cannot return to Dragonstone. If he can’t whore me out to some brutish old lord before he tires of my presence, he will kill me, Aemond! Especially after…”
She did not need to finish her thought. Aemond averted his gaze, his blind side facing her, and she knew he understood he had all but sealed her fate with his words at dinner.
“Let me come with you,” he begged. “Ser Warren can’t protect you alone, but I can help him. I can help you stay safe.”
Arianwyn smiled sadly. It would be like one of the stories they read together, the prince and his lady running away together, but that was not the story that would be told. “I wish you could,” she said, fighting back tears. “I really do. But he would only say that you stole me away and paint you as the villain. I will not allow that.”
She placed her hand atop his, leaning forward until their foreheads touched and the tips of their noses bumped together. “I will come back. I swear it. And when I do...”
Her eyes fluttered closed as she leaned forward to kiss him at last. But in the heartbeat before their lips touched, Aemond sharply pulled back. When Arianwyn opened her eyes, she found him looking not at her but at the man prowling down the hall.
Daemon. With a scowl on his face and death in his eyes.
Not her death, she knew, but Aemond’s. His death would cause her more pain than her own, and Daemon would know it. She couldn’t let that happen – would not.
Arianwyn’s heart pounded hard and slow, the urge to defend and protect rising within her as it had in that tunnel on Driftmark so long ago. Bunching Aemond’s jacket in her hands, she pushed him away from her. “Run!”
Tumblr media
Aemond ignored Aria’s order to run, instead taking up a defensive stance before her. The gods themselves could not stop him from protecting what was his.
Even as Daemon came ever closer, Aria pulled at his arms, growling, “If you don’t run this instant, I shall hate you for the rest of my life.”
His nostrils flared. How could she say such a thing? How could she hate him for doing what was right? How could she hate him if she were dead?
Some small part of his rational mind broke through his primal rage, and he remembered why he had resisted killing Daemon only moments ago. He needed a witness. Someone to testify that the killing was justified. That he was not a villain who slew his kin without righteous cause.
Aria alone would not suffice – her tumultuous relationship with her father too well known. Perhaps if it was his mother or grandsire on the throne, he could expect leniency in his punishment. For even then, he would be punished. He had to be. Too many already thought him the villain for his family to wholly prevent it.
But he could no longer feel sure that it would be his mother or grandsire on the throne, not when the king had risen to come to the defense of his whore daughter. Surely he would do the same for his rouge brother.
No, Aemond could not do this alone.
Fortunately, there were other men in the Red Keep with unimpeachable honor and a loyalty to Aria that nearly matched his own. With a last helpless glance at his love, Aemond kissed her temple before bolting down the hall to fetch them.
Tumblr media
Watching Aemond flee felt like watching one of her limbs be severed from her body, but Arianwyn steeled herself as she faced her father. Surely, he would not kill her now, not when Aemond had witnessed him approaching his daughter with such rage and his wife had only just pledged them to peace in their family.
She realized the pledge meant nothing to Daemon when he wrapped his hand around her throat and thrust her head back into the hard stone wall so hard her ears rung, and his nails sank into her skin deep enough that a single droplet of crimson blood slid down her neck.
Rather than fear for her life or pray to the gods to save her, all Arianwyn could do was wonder whether the blood would stain her beautiful gown.
“Are you not capable of keeping your godsdamned legs closed for that one-eyed fool for a single hour, you hateful little slut?” Daemon hissed. The sour smell of wine lingered on his breath. He tightened his grip on her neck until she had nowhere to look but into his wrathful eyes.
Still, Arianwyn felt no fear.
She had lived for so long consumed by fear for what her father may do to her. Throughout her childhood, she dreaded his continued indifference toward her. Then she shrank from his anger, his keen hatred. The way that, with a single word, he could destroy her happiness. And now that he was poised to kill her, she felt nothing.
Strange.
With a surge of confidence, she smiled at Daemon, a dark laugh escaping her lips. “A trait I seem to have inherited from you, dear father.”
“Hold your tongue, or you may lose it,” he snarled, pushing her further into the wall. But the chill in the rough stone only invigorated her – it matched the ice in her veins.
“Like Vaemond Velaryon lost his?” she taunted, all too aware that with each word, she was baiting a dangerous beast. “If you can’t manage to hit your mark with Valyrian steel, how do you expect to hurt me when you are unarmed?”
The muscles in her neck strained painfully as Daemon growled, raising his arm to push her higher and higher against the wall until she had to rise to her toes to escape the pressure. With every excruciating moment, she was amazed that her head did not simply fall from her shoulders.
“Your bitch mother displayed a similar wit,” he jeered, cocking his head as a dark haze crossed his eyes. He was silent for a moment before a vile sneer crossed his lips. “It did not last long.”
At that, something in Arianwyn’s heart snapped, like a sudden crack tearing through a great glacier, and something far more dangerous than even a dragon slipped through – her endless, ageless rage. The same rage that ran in Daemon’s veins finally awoke inside her and spilled into her own.
“Which mother would that be?” she asked with a voice as sickeningly sweet as candied lemons. “The one you killed, the one you neglected, or the one you are now using for her throne?”
Then, without thought but with a speed that surprised even her, she reached into her skirts and pulled out Brynna’s embroidery shears. Clamping the blades together in her fist, she plunged the tip into Daemon’s hand – into the soft, vulnerable flesh between his forefinger and thumb. She struck with such force that the shears pierced all the way through, stopping only when she felt the steel bite against her own skin.
Daemon roared in pain, jumping back and releasing his hold on Arianwyn.
Her slippers had barely hit the floor before she was running as fast as her trembling legs would take her through the dark halls of the castle.
Tumblr media
There were twelve other men in the Red Keep with unimpeachable honor and unwavering loyalty to Aria, and Aemond vowed to fall at Ser Westerling’s feet to thank him for assigning them quarters near the Holdfast.
The Bronze Guard, they called themselves, to reflect the color of the house they served and the armor they wore. Twelve Valemen hand-selected by the Regent of Runestone to protect his cousin and lady while she was raised away from her homeland.
Half the company had been with Aria since she left the Vale, and were as much family to her and Aemond was. Even those who joined while she was in King’s Landing or on Dragonstone were fiercely loyal to her. That much was clear when Aemond burst into the common room of their chambers and every man jolted to attention, their eyes on him.
It was their captain, Ser Warren Crayne, who stepped forward. He was planning to escape the keep with Aria that night, which likely explained why he was uncharacteristically not armored. His black eyes scanned Aemond’s face, then flitted to the empty hall behind him, and his already harsh face hardened. “Where is she?”
All Aemond had to say was, “Daemon,” and every man lept to his feet.
Those that were armored drew their swords as they fell into formation behind Aemond and Ser Warren, who had taken his own blade from where it sat atop a canvas rucksack - his provisions for his planned flight. Those that were only in their gambesons, or even their nightclothes, took up whatever was closest, be it a sword, a dagger, or in the case of one knight Aemond hadn’t yet met, a fire poker.
Thus, thirteen men began marching through the halls of the Red Keep, all with one, singular purpose: to save Aria.
Tumblr media
She did not know where she was going, for h, soeeled with shock at what she had done, and tears stung her blurring eyes. She was running on pure instinct, though her mind screamed at her from far away to somehow make it back to her rooms, to where Brynna and Ser Warren were waiting for her.
Then, she tripped.
She went tumbling to the floor. Her left slipper came off as she skidded to a halt, her now-scuffed hands breaking her fall.
From the distance, she could hear footsteps coming toward her.
At that moment, she recalled a fairy tale she and Aemond had once read. A wayward shoe had led a Valyrian Prince to his lost Princess.
But Arianwyn was not in a fairy tale.
No, this was a monster story.
She would not allow something as absurd as a lost shoe to lead her vengeful father to her. Instead, she tore her other slipper off her foot and grabbed the other from the floor as she began to run again. Once she came to an intersection of corridors, she threw the shoes down one hall and turned to run in the opposite direction.
Her lungs burned as she ran further and further, past the limits of her aching muscles. She did not stop until the sound of footsteps had faded, and she reached two large oaken doors.
The library doors.
How had she gotten here? She was supposed to go to her rooms, not here. She knew she should turn back and return to her rooms, her packed bag, and the tunnel that led to her freedom.
Still, she found her hand drifting over the great brass doorknobs. The library was as much her home as anywhere else in the world. It was a place of safety, though it could not protect her forever. But perhaps it could shelter her for a little while, just long enough for Daemon to abandon his search for her.
Tumblr media
Aria hadn’t been in the hall where Aemond last saw her. Neither had Daemon. But there were dark drops of blood on the ground where she had stood.
Whoever’s blood it was, it left no trail to follow. Instead, Aemond and the Bronze Guard fanned out to search every possible route from that hall to Aria’s rooms. It had been Ser Rody Tollett who found her discarded slippers. But it was Aemond who realized they were a ruse.
The slippers were too far apart from each other to have fallen from her feet, they had been thrown. The answer to why came from Ser Christor Hardyng, who had been with Aemond and Aria when they first read the old story of the Valyrian princess who lost her shoes. So, they followed the opposite hall, fanning out again until Aemond came to a pair of great oaken doors, still slightly ajar.
When he slipped inside, the library was eerily quiet.
She had to be here.
For Aemond and Aria, this had beena place of ultimate comfort. The place they had spent countless nights together, eagerly devouring knowledge by the same dim candlelight. This was the place they had always been able to cheer each other, even on their darkest days. This library was sacred to them. More than any other place, this was their home.
With a quick gesture with the hand still holding her slippers, Aemond signaled for Ser Warren and two of the knights he hadn’t met to fan out and search for her among the stacks. Though if she were here, he knew precisely where she would be. Holding his sword at the ready, Aemond carefully and quietly made his way through the sprawling rows of shelves.
Past the oldest and most prestigious tomes chained in place near the doors to impress foreign visitors. Past the religious texts his mother had ordered moved to the forefront only a few years ago. Past the most flattering histories of each noble house, hand-selected by their loyal Maesters over the years.
They had explored the entire library, yes. But there was one place that was theirs.
There she was.
Beneath the shelves of their precious alcove, the walls lined with the surviving histories and legends of Old Valyria, Aria sat under their table, crying softly as she read the large book in her lap.
Silently, Aemond sheathed his sword and approached, setting her slippers atop the table before crouching to face her. His heart wrenched in agony when he beheld the two trails of freshly dried blood running down her neck and the already bruising skin beneath her jaw.
“Aria?” he called gently.
Her silver eyes snapped to him in fear, but they softened when she saw him. She smiled at him, even as her tears continued to fall.
He stared at her wounds. Daemon had hurt her. “What happened?”
Following his gaze, she brought her hand to her neck as if she had forgotten the blood that lay there. “Oh,” she whispered, her voice raw. “I stabbed him.”
“You what?” Aemond asked in disbelief. He could hardly imagine her hurting anyone, let alone stabbing them. Though he supposed if she was going to stab someone, it would be Daemon.
Wiping the half-dried blood from her hand onto her dress, she stared distantly across the library hall. “He was choking me. And he insulted my mother. So, I stabbed him.”
Aemond could not help the pride that rose in his chest nor the breathless laugh that escaped his lips. “With what?”
Aria’s face lit with mischief, but her lips wobbled. “Brynna’s embroidery shears.”
“Is Daemon alive?” he asked, afraid of what her answer might be.
She nodded, sadness again taking over her features. “It was only his hand.” She shook her head and patted the ground next to her. “Come join me.”
“I’m afraid I’m too tall now. Will you come out?”
She frowned slightly and shrank away from him, clutching the book to her chest. Tears came again to her eyes. She sniffed, wiping her eyes with her sleeves. But it was too late, the dam had broken.
“He will kill me, Aemond,” she whispered through her tears. “After what I did, he won’t care what the court may think. He won’t even care about losing me as a bargaining chip. He just wants me dead.” A sob escaped her, and she clapped her hands over her ears and began shaking her head back and forth, faster and faster. It was how she banished nightmares when they were children.
Discarding his sword, Aemond fell to his knees and crawled under the table, his spine hitting it’s underside painfully with every movement. But it didn’t matter, he just needed to get to Aria. She was crying, shaking, breaking, and he needed to hold her together.
He took her in his arms when he reached her and she curled into a ball against his chest. If he could only hold her tight enough, maybe he could keep her from shattering. For if she broke…
“He’s going to kill me,” she said against his shoulder. “He’s going to kill me. He’s going to kill me.”
She repeated those awful words again and again, as if they were the only ones she knew. No amount of his sushing quieted her. His gentle swaying did not stop her desperate, gasping breaths. Not even his fingers threading through her hair calmed her.
He had to do something, he -
An idea floated through Aemond’s mind. He was about to dismiss it as simply the fanciful notion of the lovesick boy he had once been. But when he truly considered it, he realized it could be the answer to all Aria’s woes.
“No. He won’t.” He grinned openly. “Daemon only holds such power over you because you are his daughter, and you are not yet of age.”
She turned her eyes down as he spoke, but he cupped her chin and raised her eyes to his. He knew it wasn’t fair, but she needed to hear the truth.
“You are a woman. Until you, at last, become the Lady of Runestone, you are powerless.”
Arianwyn scowled. “Yes, I know, Aemond. But – “
“Marry me.”
