Jade in his Wuthering Heights era but also not,, I really wanted to include Jade screaming out "Oh God! it is unutterable! I cannot live without my life! I cannot live without my soul!"

Beyond words, I hope the audience could not predict the ending. I like unpredictable shit — I’m a fan of it in the movies I watch — so I wanted the reader to be concern: is Jade going to ask Malleus to keep him under a spell of sleep, is there’s going to be a resurrection, was Jade going to overblot, or some secret fourth option?

Not the original premise because the original premise was ALWAYS resurrection done by Malleus, but with the saprophytic mushrooms, the thoughts were to feed parts of the Reader’s corpse into mushrooms which Jade would find a way to convert fungal matter into new lungs, new epidermis, new eyes. Life with a stomach of death. Obviously not a powerful enough mage to do this, dream Reader convinced him to go to Malleus for help.

Originally, in the memory of Malleus and Reader sitting by the gargoyle, the Reader was suppose to confide in Malleus of their fear of magic as they had been hurt by it before on many occasions, but this would contradict it being a sweet memory. I'd be a weak writer if I included something that foreshadowed their doom -- "I know you would never hurt me Malleus" or "I trust you greatly" — that moment absolutely could not be bittersweet.

Eventually, I would like to write a Reader who has a fear of the magic around them — just to test what that dynamic might be like in Twisted Wonderland.

I’ll give credit where credit is due: the act of syncing up breathes together, skinship or back-to-chest, was siphoned from M Night’s movie Signs (my absolute favorite from M Night)

I don’t think Jade would ever want to be separated from Floyd or vice versa which is why Jade brings the reader back to life. Sorry to the people who were thinking they would get the angst of staying trapped in a dream </3, it’s good angst but unrealistic for Jade as a character.

Red Hood Tim Ask

To answer your question, it's turning into a very long fic lol. I also got two different asks about my red hood tim fic so I'm going to share the backstory details in this one and in the other one I'll share some of my favorite parts I have planned :3

Basically it's a reverse Robin's au where Damian is the eldest and he becomes Shadow. but Tim? Tim becomes Robin.

This fic is also all @castrian-amore's fault because he has an amazing Red Hood Tim cosplay and I got inspired. i may have sent them the tim drake art first but still shhhh

At twelve years old he's running the streets taking pictures of his favorite duo, Batman and Shadow when he gets snatched up by Joker who in a bid to get Harley Quinn to take him back, tortures him for two months in an attempt to turn him into Joker Junior.

He kidnaps Harley and shows him his newest creation and she's horrified. But she has no clue how she can save this poor kid from the maniac. So she plots a way to save Tim and agrees to stay with Joker.

While they're together, Harley tries to help Tim as much as she can and she tells him stories to distract him from everything that's happening. She tells him about the little bird, Robin and how it's associated with life changing experiences and that it teaches you that even in the harshest of winters, the light of spring will appear.

Finally, Harley gets Tim out of the Joker's clutches and to Batman who takes on look at Tim and is like adoption bait. He learns that the Drakes didn't even know that their son was missing for two months and gets custody of Tim. But the problem is that it's not the only reason Bruce wants Tim. Bruce wants him because Tim managed to endure two months of torture with Joker and knows Bruce's secret identity and never once gave it away, not only that but he's concerned that Tim still might turn into Joker Jr and it's better if he just keeps Tim with him so he can keep an eye on him.

He encourages Tim to become a vigilante in an effort to make sure that the kid doesn't become a villain. Not that Tim really plans to? He's getting to live with his hero and be a vigilante and that's all that matters to him. So he takes on the name Robin as a symbol of his own rebirth after everything that has happened to him. And Batman raises him to be a soldier because that's the only way Bruce can convince himself that Tim won't become Joker Junior.

Anyway, years go by and it's miserable for Tim because he's taught to be a soldier and Bruce continually treats him like he's a threat. And he makes friends with this little kid in Crime Alley named Jason who thinks Robin is a hero.

Then the fight with Darkseid happens and Bruce is thrown into the timestream and Tim is desperate to save him. Because Bruce is all Tim knows and he doesn't know what to do without getting orders because that's all he's used to and Damian treats him like total shit.

So Tim goes on his Brucequest and dies against the Widower. Ra's sends back the information that Tim found about Bruce along with his Robin suit and tells Damian that he's dead. Only, Ra's has brought Tim back to life and has decided to make the kid his own personal soldier.

This is all the backstory for the story.

The fic itself takes place with Jason as Robin and wanting to know more about the Robin who used to come visit him in Crime Alley and bought him chili dogs. Especially because the plaque hanging in front of Tim's Robin suit doesn't say "a good soldier." no you see, it says "a precious son" something that Tim never saw himself as because Bruce never treated him that way.

Jason eventually meets the new Gotham crime lord named Red Hood who is a little too angry at Batman and Nightwing (Damian)

Okay, so I’m gonna be extremely fucking annoying so please forgive me, BUT, I had a sort of stupid thought. After rewatching Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 (which btw is absolutely amazing and James Gunn is probably my favorite comic book movie director).

After that, I remembered a cut plot line from Endgame where Rocket and Wanda were supposed to go on a road trip, which than got me thinking “Holy fucking shit, imagine if James Gunn had gotten to write Wanda Maximoff, that would’ve been dope as fuck”

What’s my reason for saying this? His writing for Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad was absolutely amazing, especially the bit that turned into her stellar monologue about the difficulties of moving on from abusive relationships.

Plus, James Gunn is really one of the few directors and writers in the MCU to give female characters the same amount of development as the male characters, with that development being very well fleshed out and feeling very human few MCU films even match.

Idk, James Gunn and his Guardians films mean so much to me, and there’s a part of me that thinks it would’ve been extremely cool to see him take on the character of Wanda Maximoff (I also hold this opinion with Thor and Natasha, but that’d be a longer rant), I just think it would’ve been amazing and give Elizabeth Olsen so much more to work with.

Not that any of her material has been without merit and something to work with, especially in the case of Multiverse of Madness and getting to work with Sam Raimi (another favorite of mine), but seeing Elizabeth Olsen get a monologue similar to what Harley got in The Suicide Squad or a Peacemaker style redemption arc from Gunn would’ve been sick. Here’s hoping that Elizabeth Olsen becomes apart of the DCU and gets to actually gets to work with James Gunn.

Okay, that’s all, sorry for the incredibly long rant, this probably won’t get traction, but if it does, that’s cool lol. I hope it’s at least semi enjoyable to read, and until we meet again! (Also, Wanda and Rocket are my favorite MCU characters, so have some gifs as a reward lol)

BTAS Dork Squad + Penguin - Wedding Headcanons

BTAS Riddler: 

Engagement: 

- Obviously, Eddie is going to make a game out of it. 

- Whether it’s a series of riddles he asks on a dinner date

- Or a small little intimate scavenger hunt

- Or a short and sweet video game on the computer. 

- Maybe even a trip in virtual reality where he takes you down an actual trip through memory lane…

- All options lead to him getting on one knee before you. 

- He makes it known that you’re the answer to the riddle of his own life, just when he thought he would never find one. 

- Edward won’t admit it, but he was extremely relieved when you said yes, always slightly worried it was too soon or too late to ask. 

Wedding: 

- It’s somehow simultaneously both grand yet intimate. 

- Only a few close friends or family of yours show up (if at all given his reputation)

- Edward ensures to only invite a few of his colleagues that won’t cause a total commotion.

- It did nothing to calm his nerves though, worried that just one slip up could utterly ruin the foundations you two have built. 

- He gulps down his fear and bravely gets down on one knee on the porch before you too head back into your home after a date night. 

- Jonathan is so relieved and overjoyed when you said yes. 

Wedding:

- Autumn colors, autumn colors, autumn colors. 

- No doubt takes place in either late October or early November. 

- It’s small and intimate, only a few close relatives or friends. 

- Jonathan didn’t even invite Harley, Edward, and others but they somehow found out and joined anyway.

- Harley self-appointed herself your maid of honor (if you didn’t have one already, so just roll with it, she’s so sweet) 

- Jonathan finds you breathtaking in your outfit. 

- He surprises himself as he finds himself getting choked up sometimes.

- Watching you smile, laugh, the ring on your finger almost seems to genuinely glow from your love for each other. 

- He looks back on this day fondly, a memory that would light up even his darkest of days. 

BTAS Mad Hatter: 

Engagement:

- This man’s love for you knows absolutely no bounds. 

- Never one to shy away from any extravagant displays of affection. 

- The engagement is no different. 

- Whether it be the conclusion to a small hedge maze you conquered together. 

- A sweet surprise at the bottom of your tea cup during a tea party. 

- It’s thoughtful, it’s clever, it’s adorable, and it’s 100% Jervis

- You couldn’t ever say no. 

- Jervis is just as excited as you are when you say yes. 

Wedding: 

- LOOKING GLASS THEMED DRESS/OUTFIT REVEAL

(Sorry, sorry, but that idea has never left my head. I sat through with my sister looking for themes for her reveal photoshoot and just had the biggest lightbulb moment)

- He’s confused at first of the two way mirror, yet when he slowly sees you appear on the other side you absolutely take his breath away. 

- Your overall wedding theme is Wonderland, because of course…

- It’s full of beautiful colors, every since of the décor is in reference to the Carroll novels

- White roses haphazardly painted table center pieces, stacks upon stacks of tea cups and saucers of different shapes and sizes, playing card themed napkins…

- Okay I’m making myself jealous of an actual fictional wedding hang on…

- Practically everyone that you two knew that adores you two is there. 

- Which means a handful of the Rogues gallery and any friends or family that support you.

- Jervis is overwhelmed with elation that you’re finally his in every since, to where there’s an actual physical representation of it in your rings. 

- Wonderland is no longer a fantasy, but a reality of waking up to your love each day. 

BTAS Penguin: 

Engagement:

- Oswald has thought about this moment…longer than he cared to admit. 

- He honestly had been thinking about it since the whole year you two had been a couple. 

- That was the longest anyone had been with him. 

- When a year, turned into more and more years well…much like Jonathan, he knew it was a matter of time to properly ask for your hand. 

- Doesn’t make him any less of a nervous wreck about it. 

- Oz takes you out on a date, he doesn’t want to make it too obvious but definitely pulls out all the stops. 

- Your favorite restaurant, your favorite place to stroll, your favorite activity…it’s all about you. 

- He does his best not to fumble as he gets down on one knee and finally asks the burning question. 

- He feels like the weight of the world is lifted off his shoulders and is relieved by pure joy when you say yes. 

Wedding: 

(I know technically BTAS Oz doesn’t own the Iceberg Lounge but his TNBA version does so we’re kinda overlapping canon here rip)

- The Iceberg Lounge serves as the perfect venue for your wedding. 

- Oswald takes some joy in not inviting or allowing any of Gotham’s social elitists into the venue. 

- Yes, yes, only a certain amount of people are allowed to see who is being betrothed to the Penguin. 

- Everything is pretty formal, a black-tie affair all around. 

- You don’t have flower girls, more flower birds as they swoop in and toss the petals along the aisle. 

- Oz is in awe of you as your presented.

- He’s worried he will wake up and you and all of this would be a dream, a fantasy. 

- Everything is real as you exchange vows, and he tries not to cry. 

- The evening continues without a hitch, well except for some of the birds accidentally making an oops on some Rogues, particularly a clown that wasn’t invited. 

- Oswald is thrilled to begin this new chapter with you. A chapter he thought he could never write in his life, but now thankfully he has you to help him write it.

Personal Thoughts On “Batman: Caped Crusader”

As the title suggests, I will be talking about my thoughts and personal opinions on the newest Batman show. Mostly the things that confused me ngl.

Now I’m no Batman expert nor a film critic. Just a casual fan of Batman and the Batfam(as well as Dc comics in general). Wanted to preface that before moving onto the main point of this post. So I ask to not take I what I say too seriously. Again, I simply wanted to express the thoughts I had after just watching the show.

Warning: This post become longer than I thought it would, a lot of words were typed out. Became more of rant of my various thoughts than anything constructive, I think. Lol sorry about that.

Stuff I Liked About the Show

The art style! I just really liked how everything was drawn and colored. The animation itself was just fantastic. I’m no animation expect though so honestly there may have been flaws that went over my head, but still!

The show itself I found I enjoyed watching. I was interested in each episode’s story, despite some things that confused me(more on that later).

Character designs were also something I liked. My favorite being Harley’s jester costume. I just loved its pattern and colors.

Character personalities were also interesting to watch. The contrast between Bruce’s playboy persona versus his attitude as The Batman has always been interesting to me. Same goes for Harley. As a therapist/psychologist she’s cheerful and always wearing a smile. Telling her friends the best way to endure the hardships that are Gotham is by laughing. Versus her demeanor when it’s shown what she does with her greedy clients who refuse to see the error of their ways. The voice she uses as she talks to them is just really neat to me.

Things I Didn’t Like/Confused Me

Unnecessary changes to the critical details of well established characters have always bugged me slightly. Gender, for instance. The Penguin has always been depicted as this short chubby man who uses a club as a front to his criminal organization. This depiction of the character has been well established in my imagination whenever I hear the name Penguin in reference to the Dc villain. So imagine my confusion when this show introduced this big female character with two sons as the Penguin. I just have to ask, why? It just seems unnecessary. I’m willing to ignore it and excuse it as maybe it’s the result of the show being an alternate timeline(or universe). Either way it was a bit weird. Also her name? “OswaldA”? That just doesn’t seem like a real name honestly.

Moving on, another thing that confused me in terms of changing well established critical details of well known characters were the changes made to Commissioner Gordon and Barbara. Specifically their ethnicity. Why the heck are they black? Now before you raise your pitchforks and torches, I have my reasons for this change to the characters to confuse me. Historical accuracy. This show is set in the 1940s, a time when segregation and mistreatment towards people of color were very well present. Yes there were black police officers, but they were not treated equally nor given the same amount of power in their jobs as white officers. I’m no expert on the subject and will not act like one. But I still I think I know enough to be confused at Gordon and his daughter to be black and yet have no problems working in the positions they do. Again, maybe it’s because the show is set in an alternate timeline/universe? Maybe they didn’t have racial issues in their world like we did irl? Personally I have no qualms to such changes to the characters in other scenarios, I’m just confused/curious how things work in the world this show is presenting us.

Speaking of historical inaccuracy, Harley and Detective Montoya’s budding relationship being so open. Again, it’s the 1940s. If queer people were struggling to be accepted in the 60s, then they definitely were having a hard time being accepted in the 40s. Honestly I don’t hate these characters falling for each other. It’s kinda cute and honestly I wish it had a chance to be fleshed out more. What I’m confused about mainly is the lack of reactions from background characters and the fact Harley and Montoya aren’t being secretive. Again, I’m no history expert on this subject so correct me if I’m wrong. I’m just confused as a casual viewer of the show who’s heard how queer people had to be really secretive in times when they were heavily looked down upon. Again, I’m willing to overlook this in the sense the show may just be in a different timeline/universe where such issues possibly didn’t form. Who knows honestly what the history of the world this show has created is like.

Other than all of that, Harvey Dent’s characterization. Now I want to preface by saying I don’t know a whole lot about how this character has been generally depicted in the past. But from what things I have heard in passing; wasn’t Harvey originally a really good lawyer with a likable personality? Anyone who knows more about him, please correct me if I’m wrong. The way this show depicts Harvey before his transformation into Two Face just seemed off. Like, is he supposed to be that pretentious? Also why kill him off not so long after his change into Two Face? Is he going to be brought back somehow?

Okay last thing I’m confused about; Bruce’s estranged relationship with Alfred. Now I get it when Bruce insists on shooting down Alfred on talking about his personal issues and insisting that he’s fine. Bruce is stubborn on that front and personally that makes sense to me. But in this show he’s depicted as not treating Alfred like family? Am I describing it right…? It just confuses me a bit that he doesn’t seem to be treating Alfred as kindly as I’m used to seeing in other shows. Alfred basically became Bruce’s step dad by raising him as best he could after Bruce’s parents died. Maybe it’s a result of Bruce becoming overly focused on perfecting being Batman or something. Who knows. I’m just a bit confused by this, understandably.

That’s all pretty much it. Despite not liking the changes made to certain characters and stuff that had confused, none of those overall ruined the show for me. I generally liked it and will be waiting patiently for season 2. Especially to see what comes from that cliffhanger that’s shown in that last episode of season 1. Also I personally think it was missed opportunity to make the flashbacks in black & white. It would’ve made a lot of sense to do so.

Favorite and least favorite genres to write (angst/smut/fluff, etc): I guess my least favorite is fluff based on the works I have sitting in my AO3 lol. I don't really write a ton of smut (I'm not super comfortable writing, mostly because every time I've tried it's been SHIT) but I live for angst. Sorry in advance lol

Favorite characters to write for? Harley Keener all the way. His character is so underused in the MCU and while that sucks, it gives me a lot of space to sort of mold him to what I need in the story and make this version of Harley my own.

Which one of your works is your favorite? Right now, it's "When Our Fingers Touch, I Feel My Way Back Home". It was fun to sit down and do a lot of research about WWII and also to create something out of my love for both coxstroke and band of brothers type stuff.

Which one of your works is more popular than you thought it would be? "Proof That Harley Keener Has A Heart" for sure! I never thought the parkner/Harley Keener/Ty Simpkins fandom was as big as it was and I've gotten a ton of love on that story. A big thank you if you've been with it since the beginning!

Which one of your works is less popular than you thought it would be? IT'S "WHEN OUR FINGERS TOUCH I FEEL MY WAY BACK HOME"!!!! Idk, maybe it will have it's moment, but I loved writing it and I hope it gets some love

Which one of your fics was hardest to write? Why? It's absolutely "The Injury of Finally Knowing You", my Locklyle fic. I think it's so hard because I put a lot of pressure on myself for how I portray the characters and getting that ship exactly right, whatever that is. It's kind of the same for my coxstroke fics too. Basically I get worried that I'm getting so OOC in my attempt to tell the story that people will get turned off to it.

What is your favorite fanfic by someone else? OOOOOOOOOOOOO lord where to start? Currently I'm waiting on an update for a Parkner/Percy Jackson world crossover fic by trailsofdaisies on AO3, as well as a Batman Parkner fic by NightZone (also on AO3). There's a regency AU Locklyle fic that I cannot find for the life of me on AO3 that I ADORE! The Cormorant by sparrow-in-the-field is such a good coxstroke fic! Find a WIP Word Game

I was tagged by @setsailslash. Thank you so much! I never have too many WIPs going on at one time, so all of these word choices are going to come out of the same two fics I have in progress right now.

Tagging @withthekeyisking-writer @yaoist @zeroducks-2 even though I think at this point most of us have migrated to other fandoms besides DC lol. My three snippets here still are!

My words for y'all are "bleed", "loyal", "laugh", and I'm totally snatching "hands" because hnng hands.

When they part, Dick almost forgets where he is. He feels like he just came down from space. “Gee,” he says, because that’s genuinely the only thing he can come up with for expression with his brain only halfway online. “That was nice.”

By way of agreement, Bruce wordlessly guides him back in for another.

He could do this forever. No hands yanking his hair or going straight for his lap. No fingers in his mouth, up his shirt.

But, god, he would let him. He’d let Bruce do whatever he wanted, right here in the back of this nice little car. But he doesn’t make a move beyond brushing his thumb over Dick’s cheek and pulling him closer to kiss, and that’s just as nice. The fire in his belly still burns, but it’s a warm and pleasant thing instead of an urgent necessity.

This time when it ends, Dick doesn’t say a word.

Without taking her lips from Harley’s neck, Selina rumbles a soft laugh against the skin there. Every once in a while, she reminds Harley of Bruce. She thinks they spend too much time together, but she ignores that and relaxes into the kisses and scratches of manicured nails down her hip and thigh.

“No underwear,” Selina comments. “Naughty girl.”

“Why don’tcha punish me, then?”

Abruptly, she’s twisted around and bent over the counter. Selina’s hand presses against the back of her head, keeping her down, and Harley wiggles her ass back against her.

“I’ve been sooooo bad, mommy,” she croons playfully, earning a swat to the backside that makes her grin turn wide. She admires the reflection of Selina’s hand slowly inching around her throat, the V of her thumb and forefinger cradling just under Harley’s jaw as she tilts her head up.

Selina looks just as smug as expected. “I only play mommy for one person. Sorry, darling.”

“Tell Brucie I’m comin’ for him.”

He can get used to the thin air he’s getting while Roman chokes him on his cock, but it’s what he says that’s hard to take. “You were always my favorite slut.” Dick is torn between a Pavlovian response to the praise and the newly-acquired knowledge of how much Roman means his so-called pet names. Acid threatens to rise in his throat, but he does his best to ignore it. “That’s why daddy’s so disappointed in you for this.” Indignation spears through his chest. “But you’re going to make it up to me, aren’t you?”

Dick sucks harder, coming off with a pop so he can take a quick, ragged breath before going down again.

“That’s right. That’s what you like, isn’t it?” He looks up at the man through damp lashes, and Roman finally lets go of his hair in favor of brushing the pad of his thumb over the wetness gathered beneath Dick’s eye. “Yeah,” he says in a low, pleased rumble. “That’s what I thought.”

1. Yes, but what they know is not the full truth typically. Best example is in Young Justice, the world is made to believe their base is the Hall of Justice, when that’s just a ruse, the real base is an orbiting satellite in space called the Watchtower.

2. Yes the public knows about Batman. The degree of how much they know about him can vary by story.

3. Both? Definitely vigilante, but in Gotham that means hero.

4. Yes!! In fact, my favorite interpretation is that people think Superman doesn’t even have a secret identity, and that his “secret identity” is as his birth self, Kal-El, and that he lives in the fortress of solitude. Lex Luthor uses xenophobia to rally people, saying that an alien shouldn’t be a protector of/champion for humanity.

8. Jon Kent is the second main universe Superboy!! He is the son of Lois and Clark, and is Damian Wayne’s best friend. Recently, he was aged up for various reasons, so he’s roughly 18 I THINK, which puts him a few years ahead of Damian which made people Not Thrilled. He has operated (and I think technically still is operating) as Superman himself, and he is bisexual!!

9. Yep still Nightwing (Dick Grayson). Stephanie Brown, Damian Wayne, and Tim Drake are up there too.

10. I have a FEW: Donna Troy, Cassie Sandsmark, Duke Thomas, Carrie Kelly, and I’m definitely missing some but that’s what I’m thinking of rn.

11. Okay so the college thing I believe is a fanon thing, but I love it. She is a psychologist or psychiatrist (can’t remember which rn), though her license has probably been revoked several times over by now. She did leave the joker, and has an amazing girlfriend (Poison Ivy) now. She and Batman aren’t friends-friends, but they aren’t particularly enemies either. Fanon will fluctuate with that though. Take your pick!

12. Yes!! The secret Batfamily stuff is a non-canon compliant fanon trope (that I do love to read and see, but don’t want in canon)

13. Depends on who you ask. Truly. He has done some bad stuff to his kids in the comics, but that’s what happens when hundreds of writers and artists all give their own take on the character, over now almost 100 years. I personally prefer Good Dad Batman, and tenddddd to choose to ignore the terrible things he did in canon on occasion. Others don’t, and that’s okay.

Detective Conan/Case Closed Re-Read Through: Volume 19 Part 1

Hello, friends! I'm back at it again with another volume. Sorry it took me so long to start this back up. I'm planning on posting a new one at the beginning of every month so that I can keep it consistent and not get burnt out.

Case #1: Doc Agasa, Haibara/Anita, and Conan ended up a professor's house who had some disks belonging to the Black Organization/Syndicate. This is the case the last volume left off on.

Case #2: Conan, Ran/Rachel, and Kogoro/Richard end up helping a girl find her parents who have been missing for two months. Her father is a famous novelist.

Case #3: Heiji/Harley takes Conan, Ran/Rachel, and Kogoro/Richard on a tour of Osaka's food. This is the first time we meet Kazuha. I've gotten so used to her being around that I was surprised this was the first time she showed up, lol. There's a case that happens and the police get involved. (Also, I knew who was the murderer from the beginning, but I think that's just because I've read this case before, lmao.)

Case #4: I actually remembered this case. It takes place with the Junior Detective League, including Haibara/Anita, at a soccer stadium. It leaves off on a cliffhanger.

Least Favorite Thing:

Most murders, at least in Detective Conan, are due to misunderstandings and miscommunications. Communication is important. Choosing the right words to use is important too.

Most Favoritest Thing:

I relate to this on a very personal level. Finishing a story even if all the odds are stacked against you finishing it. I’m glad this was here for the first volume I started reading again. She finishes her father’s story and becomes a great novelist as well.

Funniest Moment:

Conan gives absolutely zero cares when it comes to listening to the adults. (Also, he did get bopped on the head for this by Kogoro/Richard.)

Get bent, weirdo. 🤪 Top 5 ASMRartists and/or triggers.

This took me waaaay longer than I expected, sorry! I tried to give a mix of various types of ASMR: talking, no talking, personal attention, roleplay, indoors, outdoors, etc.

To those not familiar with ASMR, there's an entire world of it out there and I highly encourage anybody who struggles with insomnia or anxiety to look into it. Or even if it helps you to have sounds on while you're working or studying but find music a little too distracting. Just doing a general search on Youtube for ASMR will give you a start orrrr... you can check out my following recommendations. 😉 I find that some types of ASMR work for me and others don't and sometimes it's just a matter of what I'm in the mood for. So if you don't find something you like the first couple of times, try a few more and you might be surprised! 💖

In no particular order (and sorry I can't embed them)...

ASMR | stormy ocean night - ASMR_Divinity

I'm weirdly more fond of "that towel over the mic sounds like the ocean" more than I am of actual oceans sounds, I dunno why! I find this one super soothing, one of my all time favs!

ASMR Mic Scratching with 20 mics - Alexa ASMR

This is the mic scratching video to pretty much end all mic scratching videos (except she has more like this with even more mics but you get what I mean 😛😉). You get foam covers, bare mic AND fluffy cover, plus mics of all sizes with their own distinctive sounds. You listen to this with headphones/earbuds/etc and you will swear this is genuinely scratching your brain. Now, whether that's a good thing or not depends on how it feels to you, of course. For some reason, if I'm struggling with insomnia, this sort of "brain scratching" can often help.

Zzz 💜ASMR - KathyASMR

I didn't realize how much I'd like concrete scratching until I realized I used to do this when I was younger, though I didn't have such pretty rainbow fluorite to play with at the time, lol! Rainbow fluorite is one of my favorite gems/crystals/whatever category they fall under and so I loved the beautiful colors in addition to the sounds.

ASMR Brushing Your Pain Away - Whispering Gentleman ASMR

Pretty much any of his videos are really good for anxiety, IMO. He has a very calm, gentle manner, and strives to make every video feel like a safe place.

Harley Quinn takes care of you | You're Poison Ivy - ASMR Shanny

There are a lot of roleplay videos out there but Shanny really does a pretty perfect soft-spoken Harley, IMO. She keeps the character the entire time but also takes you through some classic ASMR trigger sounds at the same time. Just a fun, relaxing thing to watch when I'm trying to quiet my mind. 💖

Bonus:

A Dark Hero guards you while you sleep - Ambient Renders

An 8 hour long video of rain and soft city sounds with an atmospheric but lovely background and a special guest that periodically arrives to watch over you and the city. 😉 If "regular" rain sound videos feel a little too monotonous to you, one like this with city sounds might be more to your likening. Plus, I just love the Batman-inspired character who comes and hangs out on my balcony, what can I say? 😎💖

woah... you know, I don't think I've ever gotten a "personal" ask before, hahaha. thank you for asking & thank you for the compliment! i mean my music taste is pretty eclectic (like most people's, I feel like) but my favorite artists are definitely leonard cohen, iggy pop, mark lanegan, and die Prinzen. Though, too, I really like ELO... richard o'brien... brewer & shipley... the who... spoon... cake... john cale... ween... beck... harley poe... abba... the list goes on... in all honesty I will listen to the same song on repeat dozens if not hundreds of times in a row once I find one I really like, and it would probably be easier to give you a list of songs that i've played on repeat than artists I "like" hahahaha. this is my #1 (357 times the week of february 1st):

This song is off my favorite LC album and it's one of my favorites of his. It took me a while to come around to his voice (had to microdose him for a few years) but really everything about his music is unparalleled... I recommend listening to "Everybody Knows" since that's what did it for me. enjoy having your life changed forever

Uhhh, that's kind of a hard one lol. Sorry in advance bc I'll probably be unable to name a ship that doesn't involve someone from the batfam

I can't name just one so have a top 3 (in no specific order btw):

Dickory: This is probably the nostalgia of growing up with the Teen Titans cartoon talking but I love them very much! One of my very first ships as well

Timkon: This ship can be both fun and angsty and I love them for it. I can't find any fanfics that aren't Tim Drake-centric though, I would like to see things from Kon's perspective

Harlivy: I haven't dwelled much on this ship, but I really like baddies that do bad stuff together lol. I also love that they try to better themselves while trying to help the other into a better place. I'm glad that Harley found someone that doesn't let her self-destruct nor doesn't feed that self-destruction (Also: oh! look! A ship that doesn't include the batfam lol)
