Junicrane/Starstruck Ramble

I will not be brief, all under the cut

To clear some things right off the bat:

No corpse, no proof with Juniper. Obligatory this is set in a canon where he's alive and adjacent to the agency in some way.

Reggie & Juniper are just gay to me, but I don't mind any interpretation of their sexuality

The games are set in 1967/68 to me (based on a couple bits in game) which is before it was legal to be gay in America at least (1971), which is relevant to how I interpret canon as being somewhat grounded in reality, despite unrealistic elements.

This is just an insane amount of headcanons/elements of and AU all culminated into one post. I will talk about some headcanons like they're just facts because they are established in my head, and it saves me over explaining literally everything, however I will explain some parts a little bit for clarity.

Alright. Actual beginning of the ramble:

Juniper is a character to me who had gotten so lost in his job as an actor and a social presence that in the end his whole life revolved around that 'role'. Because of this, by the time he's put into the situation where he's around the Agency, he basically knows nothing about himself, though he doesn't realise at first. Furthermore, what little identity he had has changed in so many ways. He's no longer a beloved famous actor in the prominence of public light, he's legally dead and he tarnished his career just before he was supposed to die, with the bonus of that making him lose the majority of his estate. From that, he also has horrific facial scarring from the electrical burns from literally having his face fried. I believe a friend of mine made a post about this a while ago (I also think they were the first to think it up also), but, to me, Juniper has a permanent trimmer in his right arm (aka his dominant hand) from the electrical current and it is messing with his nervous system.

All in all, he's not doing great, but he's too proud to admit that he's not doing great, because if anything, what's left of his ego is all he has as a defense since he's deep in unfamiliar water.

Before ending up around the agency (I have multiple interpretations of this, so I'm just going to bring it up generally), he'd never actually seen Reggie, and his only impression of him is a single voicemail, which was his only reference he had to later impersonate him. Juniper probably has very little feelings other than the ones he projects onto him because of Phoenix and that, at the very least, he's physically attracted to Reggie to some degree (that's like the beginning of how everything else would tumble into place in this sort of interpretation at least).

And on Crane's side? His feelings towards Juniper are probably very intense and muddled. On the one hand, he adores musical theatre, and that's his now ex-favourite actor. The thought of just casually being around him blows the bit of fanboy in him away at first because THAT'S the GUY, plus the inklings of a celebrity crush which still poke at him. And then there's the rational side of him, which knows Juniper has committed absolute atrocities on the side of Zoraxis, and hates him for that. Then there's how much Juniper comes off as an asshole at first because he refuses to cooperate with anything the Agency tried to put in place. He finds Juniper endlessly frustrating, and yet he's stuck working with him since, afterall, he's the one who knows the Agency's history with Juniper the best. I imagine him acting a lot like how he does IEYTD 1 around Juniper.

At this point, I'm just describing the pitch for a romcom.

I think the start of their relationship with one another largely started with Juniper trying to wind Crane up. It was a way of getting his attention, and I don't think Juniper knows why he's so dead set on that at first, because I don't think he realises he has a crush on 'this grump' at first. (I think that's actually the fun part about these two, because it's almost like a role reversal of the celebrity crush dynamic. This ex-big name actor has a TERRIBLE crush on an average joe and it is KILLING HIM.) But of course the Agency keeps them together because Juniper is at least conversing with Crane, so it's a start.

Through one way or another, they actually get talking casually, at least mildly at first. It takes Juniper a long time to fully deconstruct the wall he's built, and the thing is, Crane isn't the one trying to deconstruct it, at least at first, because yeah, Juniper realises if he wants Reggie to actually like him in any way, he can't keep winding him up. So they talk. Small talk at first, something rhythmic and almost easy to keep to a script. And over time that turns into actual conversations. Genuine ones in which Reggie rips out the occasional one of his jokes which Juniper is endlessly endeared about. The way he smiles just before he makes them, like he wants to chuckle at what he's about to say before he says it. That's probably when Juniper realised that he does have some vague crush on him, and that it wasn't going away.

This is what kickstarts John I can't-buy-you-things-to-impress-you-so-acts-of-service-it-is Juniper to do little things for him. It mostly starts off as him trying to make Reggie his tea how he likes it. However, the nerve damage in his arm makes that hard, as the weight of the kettle and trying to pour is hard all of a sudden. And he refuses to accept that, so he tries for a very long while. Long enough that Crane would go to investigate what was going on. And when he does see Juniper leaning over a cup with the kettle as he uneasily tries to pour it, and when Crane asks Juniper responds so matter-of-fact that his intention is nothing but genuine. And it catches Reggie off guard because Juniper hadn't done anything like that up to that point, and his very apparent vulnerability is so clearly on show.

It shifts something between them.

From that point on, conversations are longer, more familiar. Both of their attitudes soften, and Reggie makes more jokes. Juniper learns how to better use his left hand while strengthening his right back to a point where it could be used again. Slowly, they're both spending time with one another not because they have to, but just because they can. Little bits at first, not too far outside what they already were doing, but those little bits turned into long bits to a point where the other person's company was genuinely desirable.

As time passes, Juniper probably realises that he doesn't genuinely know much about himself or what hobbies he's into, because he never really had the time when he got big, and his home life in his youth wasn't bad, but it wasn't picturesque. I think Reggie would pick up on it, and absolutely try to introduce him to some things he's into. Some things stick, other things don't (corn husking very much stays Reggie's passion, and John will go with him sometimes because it's him, but it's not something he strongly cares for). Crane introduces him to a lot of music, and it's something that becomes a staple between them, with tracks they listen to more than others (tragically, I know relatively little about 60s music so I couldn't really say what). Occasionally they dance, never anything intense, think slow dancing, but the closeness is nice.

Through all of it, Juniper is battling the worst crush of his life, and he can't stand it, because I think he struggles to read people since he doesn't have anything like a script or a director to refer back to, so he has no idea if Reggie likes him back or if he's just desperate for that to be true. I think because of that any sort of confession between them would be incredibly raw, not only because of the time they live in making it hard for them to be truthful about how they love, but because it's a complete show of Juniper who's worked to be this better person. I don't exactly know how that would go, mainly because I don't have one set version of their dynamic, this post is just a generalisation of main consistent points.

Reggie does like him back, because he's gotten used to Juniper being just this guy, not a figure in the public eye, not a Zoraxis lackey, and not any sort of Agency operative (despite being under their care to some degree). He's someone he genuinely cares for, because they've given one another the time of day to learn one another, and I think because Reggie was a field agent, he was a lot better at reading Juniper than Juniper was at reading him. Eventually Juniper's company becomes something he could see around him for the rest of his life, and I think he accepts that he likes Juniper a lot more gracefully.

I think any affection directed at Juniper would at first be met with him feeling a little muddled. Reggie was a very physically affectionate person when he could be, and sure the initial flirting with one another came with the occasional little touches, but everything now was so deeply intentional. I also don't think Juniper would almost ever get over the novelty of being able to kiss him, or many other gestures, because it made the fact that they were together so very real, and it was great. I do think it comes easier to Reggie, and it's a big way of showing how much he cares, so it's important for Juniper to try and show it back because he knows how much it means to the other.

I like the idea of them eventually living with one another, too. I think Juniper would have always had a quiet little daydream of sorts where he does just live a domestic quiet life, and he can with Reggie (well, as close as they can get between the Agency and Zoraxis always being at odds), and he loves that, and he loves him, and it's immense.

I think they cook for one another a lot, it helps Juniper work on his dexterity in a controlled environment, which means a lot because it's a huge point of insecurity (that and his scars). He does improve, and Crane is proud of that and shows it and it's great. I also think they'd probably cook together too, because they can deal with being in the kitchen together and they work well with one another. It's probably a good way for them to unwind because over time they can do it in relative silence.

As I said before, I also think music is a staple in their household, and that Reggie listens to things on vinyl almost all of the time because he likes the background noise. Sometimes Juniper will catch him chuntering along to the music which he finds endlessly endearing. I wouldn't put it past his dramatic ass to also join in to fluster Reggie, but I also don't think Reggie would mind that terribly because Juniper has listened to the music enough to know the lyrics, and that's huge to him.

I don't think they are without rough patches, no relationship is, but I think the good part about them is that they're willing to talk about it (... eventually). They're used to long conversations, and while they're often less fun conversations, they're needed and they know that, and it works out.

Alright. I think I'm done for now. I haven't mentioned everything, but this definitely got the worst of it out of my system. If you ever want to hear any specific thoughts my ask box is open but other than that, behold my general dynamic for these two which has been festering in my head for years. I think they're great

I Know you sent this in forever ago after that one godforsaken episode of 97' and I'm so sorry I'm just now getting to it!!! It's been sitting in my drafts for forever and I've just been struggling to come up with fluff hcs! TBH, It started as general fluff and not a whole ass storyline and eventually i just got too far deep to stop! This isn't even as fluffy as I was quite expecting, but once i started writing it just came out and atp I couldn't stop. It's been a rough night, but this really just turned Into being Remy's comfort person HCs.

TWs: rocky family life mentioned. Sneaking out, underage drinking, so on. Smooth timeskip to adulthood. very much fluffy with a lil bit of somber tones. Not enough to be angst tho.

Think about being Teens with Remy Lebeau. The late nights, sneaking out, ranting to each other in the streets and alleyways of New Orleans.

Getting into fights with your parents/guardians or siblings and wanting nothing more than to just shrivel up and disappear. Curling up underneath your blankets with a pillow wrapped around your ears trying to just block out all of the bad thoughts when you keep hearing a persistent Tap, Tap, Tap. And then a much more obvious pop! Against your window.

You know who it is before you even unwrap yourself from the comfort of your bed, opening your window with a lot less energy than you usually have. You're tired and sad, but the face of that Cajun boy your parents don't like always makes you smile.

The red-eyed teen's smirk falls when he sees the rough state you're in, right before ducking back behind the trashcan when a light turns on in your parent's bedroom. Eventually, it turns back off again, and by the time he's back on the sidewalk you're ready to go. He helps you out of the window much more gentlemanly than a thief and a scoundrel probably should, but he's nothing if not a sweetheart. (And a loverboy, but you wouldn't realise it then.)

"Ah, hell wit' them. S'not like they worth your time anyway." Remy's got an arm wrapped around your shoulders, a beer in hand as the two of you lean against the wall of a particular mausoleum. -Course, you had offered whatever ghosts has resided there the first sip as a courtesy, so you're definitely not cursed, right? Not that Remy was even worried about that, but he puts up with your superstitions to comfort you.

"Don't say that, please." You whisper, rubbing your tired eyes. He frowns, knowing that he wouldn't know the first ting about how "normal" families work, but he doesn't quite get why you worry about what they think so much.

"I don't get why you stay, Cher. Not when they treat you like this." You can feel the rumble of Remy's voice through his chest, and find yourself tucking yourself closer into his side. He sets his head on top of yours when you do so.

"What other choice do I have? They're my parents." You whisper, fidgeting with some strings at the hem of your sweatshirt. In hindsight, maybe wearing pajamas to a graveyard wasn't the best choice. You hear Remy chuckle after a moment as a thought crosses his mind, and he swirls the bottle slowly, a few times, before he hands it to you.

"Well..." He starts, giving the words a moment to rest. "There is one option..." You take the bottle from him, cocking a eye as you sit up a little bit to look at him.

"And what's that?"

"Run away wit' me."

He's smirking when he suggests it, a playfulness in his eyes. If only you knew just how serious he was.

"Remy LeBeau!" You scold, unable to fight back your smile as he chuckles at you.

"What? S'not a bad idea, no? No thieves guild, no drama, Jus' you an me." He laughs when you give him an incredulous look and take a dramatic sip from the beer, only to make a face at the taste directly afterwards. Damn, was it rancid.

"Don't get me dreaming, Remy." You mumble. There's only a little bit left it the bottle, and you decide it's better suited for the graveyard. Remy complains about it, trying to fight you for the rest of the beer. The two of you are a couple of idiots to be laughing this loud in a place like this, and even bigger ones to start play-fighting, but neither of you really mind.

You were each other's safe space. The one person the other could run to as the world falls apart around them. Life as a teen was never easy, especially not when you're mutants- but at least you had each other. But as his life was being consumed with the thieves guild, and the prophesy that came with it, you saw less and less of Remy as the years went by.

When you did meet again, it was under the roof of one Professor Xavier. The others were nervous and distrustful about this ex-con entering the team, but you never doubted him for a second. Your person was finally right where you needed him once again. Your Remy. And as smooth as he is around the team, you knew it was a wall, almost an act. Something to befriend the others- but you knew Remy, and you were grateful that after all the years that had passed, he still came to you when he needed you the most.

"Long day?" You ask. Remy hums in response, plopping down onto the bed next to you. You set your book to the side when he rests his head in your lap, soothingly running your hands through his hair as he sighs in content.

"You know it, ma chérie." Remy says in your lap. You can't help but blush at the name still, despite how many years he's spent calling you by the words. Remy's eyes are closed beneath you, giving you the freedom to fully take in the features of his handsome face whilst keeping him unawares. His stubble is growing in, and he's got a few new freckles and scars from your years seperated, but he's still the same wild, reckless kid you fell in love with as a teen. He hums as you brush your thumbs across his cheekbones, catching your hand and pressing it to his lips, leaving a kiss there. He then kisses your inner wrist before holding your hand to his face.

You still don't really know what to say when he does things like that.

"Can I ask you something?" You ask after a moment.

" 'Course, Cher."

"Would you still wanna run away with me?" When the last words leave your mouth, you can feel Remy frown. His eyes open about halfway, your hand still in his hold as he presses it to his face.

"What brought this on?" He asks, and you only shrug, looking away from him as your thumb idly strokes his face.

"I dunno. I was just thinking about it." His skin on your own is starting to feel too warm, your nerves becoming unignorable. Remy cocks an eyebrow at you, before he smiles. Not a smirk, a real, genuine, smile. He takes your chin in his hand, and moves your head so that you're looking at him again.

"If you needed me to run away with you, Belle, I'd do so without looking back." His words make you smile brightly, holding onto the wrist of the hand that holds your chin. You lean forward to press a kiss to his forehead, but Remy moves. He sits up just slightly, and before you know it, Remy Lebeau's lips are pressed against yours in a sweet kiss.

Remy chuckles at the surprised face you're making when he pulls back, sitting up a little further so that he can press his forehead to your own, leaning into your space.

"You' always known me to be an opportunist, Cher. Can't help but steal a kiss here an there." Remy says, and your laugh is partly from disbelief, surprise, and outright giddy joy.

"Please tell me you haven't been waiting to say that since we were kids." You ask. Remy smiles brightly in return.

"My poker face 'not good enough for you, huh, ma chérie?."

They always say women have a sixth sense when it comes to relationships.

They know when their significant other is hungry, frustrated, and anxious. They're tuned in with their emotions.

In her case, she knew it was neither of those things.

The number of times he came home late, brushing off her attempts of affection, claiming he needed to shower first. The times when she tried to initiate sex, he turned her down. When he changed his password on his phone and started placing it face down.

She knew what it was, it was simple - he was cheating.

She didn't say anything to him about it, she didn't have evidence, so what was the point of bringing it up? So he could call her crazy?

So she waited, and waited, and waited until,

He finally fucked up.

She was relaxing on the couch, glass of wine in hand as she watched tv. Matt had gone out, claiming he was with his brothers, having a night out since he hadn't seen them in a while.

She had gone to grab the bottle sitting on the oak table, going to go fill her half-empty glass, when her phone rang. The device buzzes against the stained oak, almost falling off the table as Matt's name flashes across the screen.

She wanted to ignore the call, figuring he was just drunk and wanted to ramble in her ear - but something told her otherwise.

She picks up the phone, pausing her show and putting the phone on speaker.

"Hell-" she's cut off by sounds that should make her stomach drop. Maybe it was the wine in her system, or maybe it was because she was already detached from the relationship.

"Fuck, you feel so good"

Matts voice rings out, the soft sounds of squelching and a girl's moans traveling through the speaker of the phone. She could hear the headboard slamming against the wall, she could just imagine the girl's face.

All she could do was chuckle to herself, ending the call before resuming the show.

She knew this night would change their relationship forever, they would never come back from this.

Matt had come back in the middle of the night, his phone reading 2 AM. He tried to be as quiet as possible, taking his shoes off before he walked up the stairs and snaked into the bedroom.

Just as he finished getting undressed, just as he started climbing into bed, her voice rang out.

"You called me on accident."

His stomach drops, his heart skipping a beat and basically stopping as her voice rings out in the dark bedroom.

"Jesus christ! What the hell are you-"

"I heard you fucking her Matt...."

Silence fills the bedroom, the only sound heard being both of their breathing. Matt's mind is working overtime trying to find a way out of this, trying to find a way to avoid the upcoming argument that they could never come back from.

"What are you talking about? I didn't call you."

"You did Matt, you called me." She sits up in the bed, turning the nightstand lamp on, and shoving her phone in Matt's face. Right there, blazing in the form of a bright blue light screen, were her call logs showing that he called her for five minutes.

"Ok I may have called you, and it was on accident, but I wasn't fucking anyone! Why would you think that?"

He goes on this long, faux-emotional rant. Going off on her for her "false" accusations - all she could do was stare.

This was so stupid to her, so stupid and hurtful.

How could he sit here and lie to her, gaslight her, even though they both knew that she wasn't lying and he was in fact cheating on her. She wonders to herself how long they could keep this up, wondering how long she could handle this before she finally broke.

She tried her best not to break, but it was hard when she knew all of this was still going on, the lying and the cheating.

She knew she was dumb for staying, but she couldn't find it in herself to leave. Matt was all she knew, him being her only long-lasting relationship. They had been with each other since their sophomore year of high school, they were ride or die.

But the question was, would he still ride or die for her as she would for him?

Every time Matt left the house, she felt like she was going insane.

Was he with her right now? Were they having sex? Was the girl better than her? What was so wrong with her that made Matt cheat?

Why couldn't she move on? Why was she still so hung up on him when she knew he was no good?

So she finally snapped.

He had walked into the home late one night, and all hell broke loose, the girl jumping up from the couch and screaming in his face.

"I'm so fucking sick n' tired of you playing in my damn face! I gave you chance after chance, and you still won't let that bitch go! You still continue lying to me, Matt!"

She knew she shouldn't have, but she was so worked up, the anger in her came to a boiling point before overflowing.

She pushes him, hard, his body stumbling back.

"I told you from the time we met that all I want is honesty and loyalty, and you still play in my face after seven fucking years of being with each other!"

Matt was fuming, and he knew he had no right to be.

"You want the truth? You were a fling that went to fucking far! I wasn't supposed to fall in love with you, but I did! And I fucking regret it because you changed!"

His words hurt her tremendously, but she was too hyped up on adrenaline to even care.

"I changed? Fuck you! I never changed, you were the one who did!"

"No, you were! Suddenly, you don't want to have sex, and suddenly, you don't want to go out! You start being mean, acting like a bitch!"

Tears form in her eyes, but she refuses to let them fall, she was stronger than that. She gets in his face, her words seething.

"No Matthew, all that happened the first time I found out you were cheating. I changed after you forced me to. This is all your fault and I refuse to let you sit here and make it seem like it's mine."

The two stand there, both of them breathing harshly as the whirlwind of emotions circle around them.

"I love you..."

She should have laughed at him, spat at him, lashed out, and left.

But she doesn't, just like all the times before, she finds it so hard to pack her things and leave his life forever.

She was his ride-or-die.

"So prove it."

i’m ab to go on a rant. sorry in advance for how long this is gonna be. i have so much to say.

i’m so sick and tired of seeing the harry slander all over my feed. all over twitter and tiktok, people are blaming harry for one direction splitting up, calling him a “mean girl” and “standoffish” bc for the first time in his career he implemented boundaries, calling him arrogant bc you don’t see him interact w the boys publicly and overall just mocking him, like it is absolutely vile the way people treat him. harry deserves so much better. he is such a kind and amazing person. the worst part is when harry nicely says “can we not” to fans they make it into a meme when all he’s asking for is for people to show him basic human decency. the lack of respect fans have shown him absolutely sickens me.

i will never forgive those who were cruel to him during the holivia era. none of that was harry’s fault. i’m sure harry didn’t want to do that bs and he was forced into it. his management destroyed him so much. he was mentally and physically drained. the way people turned on him and bullied him is absolutely unforgivable. and don’t get me started on the 2023 grammy’s. on the most monumental moment of his entire solo career, people heckled him and made him cry bc people thought beyoncé was more deserving. i love beyonce but that was harry’s year. that was the best year of his career. and btw beyoncé fans, she really likes harry. she was very happy for him when he won.

y’all made him basically run away and become more private. i’m not faulting him for living a more private life at all. that is his right! i’m upset that people gave him no other choice bc people can’t show him any fucking respect or human decency. he has creepy stalker fans who act like they have no proper home training. he can’t even do basic things without fearing people are after him. i hate that for him.

i hate the way the industry has treated him. he has horrendous greedy people on his management who constantly sabotage him. they have alienated him from the boys publicly. they have alienated him from louis publicly which will forever make me mad bc all harry wants to do is be with the love of his life. those four boys are the only people in the industry who truly loved and cared about harry, as they had his best interest at heart.

they have closeted harry since he was 16. they have closeted louis since he was 18. they ruined harry’s reputation and went with the womanizer persona bc harry is closeted. they closeted him bc he’s in love with louis tomlinson. this industry is so homophobic. they ruined those boys’ public relationship bc the industry wants to live in this 1950’s mindset and it’s despicable.

when we first met louis, he was this carefree, kind hearted, caring bubbly and funny guy. he was very aloof and always was extremely affectionate towards harry. he loved harry so openly. he is still all of those amazing qualities however this industry broke him down. after cake gate, he changed his persona into someone so jaded and defensive at times, and also a little insecure. they made louis question who he was and made him change his entire persona bc they made him believe the industry would never accept him. i have seen videos saying or alluding to the boys were allegedly being forced into conversion therapy, mainly louis. i hope that that’s not true but nothing would surprise me. if i know simon cowell like i think i do i wouldn’t put it past him. louis is such a wonderful person who has the purest of intentions. he is a way better person than simon cowell could ever be. forcing louis in the closet is absolutely despicable. i know he wants to come out. i know he hates every minute of having to stunt, harry as well. i know he hates having to deny his love for harry. i know they hate being apart from each other. boys please know you are so loved. louis you are an amazing person. you are one of the purest souls.

louis i’m so sorry this industry failed you, honey. i am so proud of you. everything you have achieved in your career has all been your doing and no one else’s. everything you accomplished has been solely bc of you. no label, simon or anyone could ever take that away from you. please don’t forget that.

this industry has a lot to answer to. the day those boys are free i hope they expose every single one of those demons. simon cowell, syco, modest management, jeff azoff, simon jones and co, i don’t know how you sleep at night knowing the harm you have caused these boys. they were two young boys who just wanted to make music and love each other freely. you robbed them of their innocence and freedom. i will never forgive you. especially simon cowell who knew how young and green these boys were to the business yet still forced them into tiring tour schedules and constant press without ever allowing them to sleep, eat and breathe. these people caused immense mental anguish to them. i will never forgive them for that.

i know these boys are incredibly tenacious and will persevere. i feel so helpless sitting by feeling like i can’t do anything to save them. i hate that they have had to go through this for so long. i know they must be so tired.

I'm not on that app but I did see several posts here on Tumblr about how "there's suddenly so many skit shippers don't these ppl know that's a horrible ship" like bruh. Do you not realize Yuuji came from a brain inhabiting his mother's corpse? That Yuuji isn't even human? Are they not aware they're reading a work which isn't suitable for children?

Most are coping because sukuita is a problematic ship yet it's getting a lot of spotlight. Hell, Gege had drawn them dancing in the snow together on love day. "Yet they're related!! How could Gege :(". Well... they could lol. They clearly don't give a shit (and I say good for them!)

He also forced him to call him brat and constantly think about him even while fighting others. The power Yuuji holds is, after all, that strong. He even forced him to change his own viewpoint and got him to hold his waist in that official art because he's now capable of using abilities which allow him to control Sukuna's actions. 👍

not gonna lie, i’m glad ive found someone who can actually portray garte as a complex person, rather than a one-dimensional antagonist (same logic can also apply to the rest of the FP crew / FP scandal parents).

I think the aphfandom really has a hard time accepting these are all morally gray people who are capable of being shitty parents / partners. So, it’s really hard ranking who’s the worst or who’s the best, when really they all come from the same packet. when writing garte, for me one point remained constant: we don't actually have his motive for subjecting garroth to the potions. we have why derek didn't do it, but not why garte did.

something about garte just subjecting garroth to the potion with no repercussions didn't sit right with me. why his first born son, who he clearly favors? why not vylad, who isn't even his son? maybe the potion had promising effects at first, and he wanted garroth to have those, but i wanted to explore that further.

so was born the concept of a child suffering a fatal illness and a father who would go to the ends of the earth to stop it.

with this in mind that it isn't canon, i really wanted to add some moral complexity to it. was it shitty to subject his son to potion experiments? sure, but in the context of the fall of forever, how can you tell a father who only saw his child in pain that he was wrong?

as far as the aphmau fandom, i definitely agree that there is an issue with understanding moral complexity. this doesn't go for everyone by any means, and i don't think it's exclusive to the aphmau fandom, but it's the only fandom i can really speak for after years of being in it. i think there's cherry picking of who is allowed to be morally grey and who is just perceived as straight up evil.

there's also, in my opinion, a huge disparity in remembering what is canon vs. headcanon. this is something that, in my experience, is pretty unique in the aphmau fandom in terms of how far people go. i think people here (and i'm not excluded in this) genuinely forget what is actually canon and what is headcanon based off some minor implications.

Some sections are longer than others because I’m bias BUT ALSO BECAUSE I got tired of typing and realized there was wayyy tm to read. Sorry!!!! if you don’t wanna read all this I put a short summary all the way on the bottom + feel free to me ask me specific questions ! now let me talk your ear off

ASHLYN:

I really like ashlyn because she has the most potential out of everyone (and that’s not to say the other characters aren’t deep, because that’s the opposite of true but bae is the whole reason we’re here). I think she’s also really relatable in the sense that she doesn’t like interacting with people but she can easily take the leadership role when needed. like okay queen I see you. also I really enjoy the fact Red made her dislike aiden at first even though they have a side romance plot going rn. bc that’s how it would’ve been if they were real. ash would not just become chatty out of no where and fall head over heels for him. and I really appreciate the slowburn. Ashlyn’s also higher on my favorites list because I’m bias and we have the same hair length 😣 usually when characters have long hair, authors tend to let their hair flow a lot, but red put ts in braids 🙏 and ask anyone with long hair like that, their hair is up 99% of the time bc it’s annoying, hot, and (personally) GRABS ONTO EVERYTHING LIKE ITS A THIRD HAND. I have a lot of headcannons for ash just based on small character designs / aspects that not a lot of people really think about. She’s so interesting and I really just love her. And since I have positives, I’ll give one negative about her. In the beginning, Ashlyn was really hesitant to tell the group anything. I understand where she was coming from, and given Tyler’s reaction, I don’t blame her for keeping things to herself. But mannnn ts was so frustrating sometimes. it’s ok tho bc all good stories stress you out.

AIDEN:

omg guys it’s my favorite ever. I know aidens really popular already so I’ll try not to rant on about him forever but hes just the best 😣 but mans really does not gaf EVERR.

now I could rant on and on about how silly Aiden is and why he’s so misunderstood as a character, because he’s not crazy like at all and if anything he’s one of the smartest characters in sbg, but I’ll save if for a better time. Instead I wanna talk about how observant he is of Ben and ashlyn.

it’s cropping weridly, sorry. but aiden’s eyes are always watching the ones he cares about most. I feel like this has to do with the fact Ben cannot voice his concerns/opinions so aiden always has to glance at him to make sure he’s not missing any important signal. But I also think it has to do with his childhood (I don’t have fast pass or anything this is just based off of theories/analysis based on his character bc I do that a lot 🤒). Anyways, he has a specific way of comforting people that I think it’s rlly niche. He uses his hands and gets the person what he thinks they need. Like in the attached images he gets ashlyn fabric to squeeze and distracts her with light conversation, and he immediately offers to take a walk with Ben and get some fresh air. If a person refuses or asks him for space, he immediately obeys and doesn’t question their decision. He’s very trusting and understanding. He gives people room to make mistakes and gives them room to ask for help. I’m mainly bringing this up because it ties back to something I’m gonna talk about in Taylor’s section. I just think that this detail is so important to his character and we always brush over it. I don’t wanna say he doesn’t like physical touch, bc he’s always touching everything around him, but I like to think his main love language is acts of service. When you really look at it, his actions speak a lot louder than his bickering and it really helps display how much each character means to him individually. what elseee. He’s able to quickly adjust and assess situations (like when he attacked the phantom or pulled up ashlyn in the bus). He’s very quick to his feet and always needs to be interacting with something to keep his hands busy. Aiden just really don’t gaf 99% of the time (unless it’s Ben / ashlyn) and honestly that’s why I like him. He doesn’t take anything seriously or personally. clap it up for my hb. Also I notice the sbg fandom has a habit of doing it with everyone, but I feel like Aiden is always reduced to his impulsive behaviors and ‘crazy kid’ persona. please guys. look deeper into Aiden Clark. Instead of wasting your energy trying to defend a NERDY FREAK like Logan fields, you should study more on Aiden Clark and his complex character.

TAYLOR:

okay now let me talk about my shnukums Taylor. I love her a lot but her and Tyler had very different childhoods regardless of the fact they were in the same situation.

We don’t know a lot about Taylor’s version of growing up, so a lot of the details are vague but everything I say is based off of observations and analyses I have personally made, so please take everything I say about Taylor’s backstory with a grain of salt and understand that no matter what, both twins were majorly affected by the passing of their father and illness of their mother.

At first i thought of Taylor was the more lucky one out of Tyler and Taylor when it came to their childhood. Yes she struggled, I knew that, but Tyler was under a lot of stress. But that’s when I realized that she suffered just as much. Although she didn’t need to sacrifice herself to help her family survive, like Tyler did, she went though the most loss. She lost her mother, father, and brother all overnight. One second they were all happy together and the next she was all alone. Physically, her mother and brother were still there, but they were both shells. Her mother isolated by grief and her brother isolated by responsibility. She was all alone. Yes Tyler did his best to support her, but at the end of the day, there wasn’t much he could do to change the situation. Taylor suffered a lot, and since people mostly focus on Tyler, we never really see Taylor’s POV of it all.

Now her backstory leads me into the fact Taylor is the most socially smart character in sbg. She is also the most observant and supportive. This is not to say others aren’t observant/supportive, like Aiden for an example, but she does it much differently. I would attach a picture here but I’m close to maxing out the photo limit and I want to save it for later.

Taylor is very good at reading the emotions of other characters. She is also very observant. Taylor is often the first to notice when a charater is uncomfortable, panicked, or harmed. For an example, she’s the first to notice Ashlyn’s fear back at the house. Unlike Aiden, Taylor is able to verbally let people know she is there for them. She comforts them through words and physical affection. Taylor is usually aware of how much support someone is in need of and the best way to display it for them specifically. For an example when Logan was getting bullied, she defended him against Tyler’s mean words and held his shoulder for reassurance. This same tactic would not work for ashlyn, and Taylor is aware of that. So, when ashlyn broke down about the struggles of being leader, Taylor comforted her through words and reassured her fears. Taylor opened up a space for ashlyn to be scared and share her burden. She was able to do all of this in only a couple of moments. This skills also becomes a werid quirk when she is able to sense Tyler’s condition in the hospital, but maybe that was just twin senses? 🤷‍��️ idk

Taylor is also very aware of everyone around her. We know that she is very social and has a lot of friends and connections, but she also educates herself on the people she doesn’t interact with. Even if she doesn’t know a lot, she makes sure to acknowledge their presence at the very least.

What does her ability to read emotion have to do with her childhood? Well, Taylor basically lived with a shell of a family. Tyler was under constant stress, which made him prone to outbursts. Her mother was disabled by grief. Taylor was in a situation that made her feel like she had to take care of her family mentally. It was, to her, the least she could do. So, she was mentally mature from a very young age. Although having to hold the burdens of others constantly is very unhealthy, I’m not sure if she’ll crack because of it.

Taylor being very social and having a lot of friends is also another example of how she’s different from Tyler and how their shared childhood affected them differently. Tyler saw people as distractions while Taylor sees them as her means to keep living. Taylor lives off of other peoples energy, and she maintains the energy of other people by being a supportive beam for them. This is also why I’m okay with Taylor being shipped with others. She’s use to being around people and can form close bonds with others while still only viewing them as friends. Tyler cannot do the same. Taylor is in a position where she can expand her horizons into romantic relations if she was interested in doing so. That’s why I feel as though it’s okay (if that doesn’t make sense I’ll explain it again, but I tried to condense it down)

Something I don’t like about Taylor is that we haven’t gotten to see her brain in action yet. We know she’s the president of the robotics club , but we haven’t had the chance to see her charater support the story in any other way but socially and mentally. The story is only at 60 episodes though, and I’m sure we will see it eventually. Im just impatient and want to see women in STEM shine 😣😣 I wish I could talk about her more, but we barely know anything about Taylor as of right now. I will say it’s interesting how she told her and Tyler’s backstory, but only talked about how Tyler was affected and not herself. Interesting… I hope we learn more about her experiences and I hope I’m right 🙏 also CAN WE TAKE A MOMENT TO APPRECIATE HOW PRETTY SHE IS??? UGHH I LOVE HER SMM

TYLER:

I feel like Tyler has been the topic of discussion for the past couple of months because his backstory was revealed and the end of S1 / beginning of S2 was all about him and his past, so I don’t have a lot to say that I haven’t already said. but I do really like Tyler. At first when he was in his jock era I was very , oh! about him. but he’s actually warmed up to me sooooo much since then. he’s so goofy I just want more interactions between him and Aiden. I think I good place to start is how much I HATE people shipping him with other members of the main cast. I talked about it a little in Taylor’s section, but him and Taylor had very different childhoods. Again, I’m not saying their father’s death and mother’s illness was not hard on the both of them, but Tyler was under a lot of pressure too. We know he isolated himself harshly, and stopped having fun all together. The way I look at it, everything, including living day-to-day, became a chore for Tyler. Ever since he was a little kid. His dad’s death changed his entire world overnight. He had to learn how to physically and mentally support everyone important to him, because if he couldn’t no one else would. Tyler had to learn everything about living life by himself as a baby just so everyone else could survive. He stopped having fun. Little kids find fun in everything. Tyler stopped himself from finding it. He didn’t do anything for himself anymore. He was almost like a empty shell doing automatic tasks so that his sister and mother could have space to grow, heal, and live. In a sense, it was self sacrifice (which he attempts again when he tells the group to leave him behind)

So when Taylor tells us that the main cast started to become an extension of the family he sacrificed himself for, it’s so heavy on his character. Especially because for once in a long time he started relating his ‘family’ back to joy and fun, not just safety and survival. That’s why it bothers me when people ship him with others. It’s so werid to imply he’d date any of the main cast when he sees them as his family. consider them blood-siblings if you gotta, but just stop shipping them. PLEAASSSSEEEEEEEEEEE. otherwise I’ll eat your dog. thanks! also him being friends with the main cast at all is such a huge step for him. I don’t think Tyler has time to get involved with romantic relationships when he believes friends are a distraction. I know a lot of people go to romance when they want to express how strong a connection is between two characters, but you guys are forgetting that Tyler considering everyone as his friends is sooooo much more complex and deep compared to (for an example) Logan saying he considers everyone his friend. ANYWAYS ENOUGHHH!!! let’s move on.

I also wanna talk about this scene (I was to lazy to go find the original scene so the flashback is all you get). I never really realized how much ashlyn ordering Tyler around must’ve affected him. He literally spent his whole life making decisions and taking leadership and all of a sudden some random lil girl is over here telling him to stfu and sit his ass down. I would imagine as mad as he was, he probably felt a least a bit of relief. For once the responsibility wasn’t on him, at least not only on him. He could share his burden with others, and he wasn’t suffocated by being responsible for the lives of everyone else. We see this same struggle affect ashlyn, as she feels like being leader strangles her with the weight of guilt, paranoia, and responsibility. Imagine if Tyler had been the one to bare that weight after everything he’s already been through? he would’ve cracked, whether we like it or not. so let’s clap it up for ashlyn rq!!! yasss girl 😋 I know I’m rambling a lot about tyler but I know a lot about him and want to talkkk 😣 but here is my last point: Tyler’s coping mechanism to the unknown and things that confuse him is denial. Just like his mother 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

woww! do you guys remember when Tyler thought this whole thing was a joke? me too! he would’ve never thought this silly prank would almost kill him. Tyler’s mom probably thought her husband’s illness wouldn’t kill him either. oops! 😂 (I’m going kms). sorry. my point is they both refused to believe it happened (although his mom’s denial may have been more of a trauma response while his was just to help him cope). Even with evidence, they both couldn’t understand what had happened to them and pretending nothing was wrong. Tyler saw the picture of the phantom’s shadow and brushed it off to technology he couldn’t understand yet. he felt more comfortable with not knowing how technology worked rather than not knowing if he was in danger. his mother is similar. She couldn’t understand and cope with the death of her husband, even though he died in front of her. She felt more comfortable not understanding why he was late from work than understanding he was dead and gone. Guess it runs in the family? 🤷‍♀️ and since these are all things I like about his character, I will tell you what I don’t like. THAT STUPID ASS JOCK ATTUIDE FROM S1. okay I didn’t hate it, and it fit him sometimes, and I kinda miss it sometimes, but he’s like 5’5 and a stick, he is not beating no one’s ass 😭 respectfully. now he could probably rock me but he’s matured a bit since S1 so it’s different. Tyler’s not even my favorite idk why I talked about him sm , especially when I held off on talking about Aiden because I didn’t want to say to much 🤦‍♀️ whatever

BEN:

I have a lot to say about Benny boy, especially because he is SOOOOOO mischaraterized. Now I won’t go crazy like I did for the twins because I’m thinking about making a separate post just about Ben (maybe.. maybe not idk). plus I just reminded myself anon asked me to just say a few things I like and disliked about each charater not give crazy long paragraph about them. so, sorry Ben but you will probably have the most boring paragraph of them all. I still love you a lot pookie 🙏 I’m just tired AND MAXED OUT THE AMOUNT OF PICS I CAN USE EVEN THO I NEED TO TALK ABOUT U WHILE USING PICS 🤒 anyways enough rambling.

bens charater is often reduced to his backstory which genuinely makes me want to start tweaking out. if you expand on why his trauma affects him, then I will happily listen to you talk. But when most the fandom sees Ben as “music boy who hate bully, will fight you if you be mean” it makes me so SAAAADDDDD. no, Ben will NOT beat my ass for making fun of Logan. That’s like… the whole point of his backstory? He doesn’t like violence, at all. He’s ashamed of his anger issues. He blames himself for having to move and putting his family in danger. The only reason he got involved with Logan’s fight was because the phantom interference + no one was there to help calm him down.

also he doesn’t only do music. he draws too! he’s a very artistic dude. He also gardens. Ben be planting food and shit. which (as much as I HATE the ship) Logan n Ben shippers could probably use to their advantage. Yk bc Ben gardens and Logan helps his grandparents in their greenhouse? wtv. Bens prob growing flowers for Taylor anyways. Fuck Logan. sorry.

Ben is also very compassionate and gentle. He’s always thinking about what’s best for the group, even if it puts him in an uncomfortable position, like sharing his trauma. Ben is also very soft hearted. He gets flustered very easily, we see this when ashlyn and Taylor complimented him. He is very protective over those he cares about and he does not come to play, ever. Also his character development from S1 makes me so happy. He use to be attached to Aiden’s hip 24/7 and we could often only understand his emotions when Aiden would translate him to us. But we’ve seen lately that he’s much closer to Taylor, even putting her safety before his own.

💚Omg, he has so many videos of you it’s just down right embarrassing. Well, he’ll find them cute but you find them all very embarrassing.

💚You beg with almost tears in your eyes to delete them, especially the one about you losing your wisdom teeth. God forbid that video is leaked anywhere because you are so freaking embarrassed by it.

💚He always keeps them to himself though, he’d ask for your consent to share them.

💚Plus he tells you they are too precious to share with others. But he will show them to you just to make you cringe and be embarrassed about yourself.

💚“Stop, please that’s so embarrassing.” You’d say putting your face in your hands as you sat right next to your boyfriend who had been looking through photos of you two when he stumbled upon a cute video of you be excited that he was buying you food.

💚“What? No, you’re adorable. Look how happy you are just about a Starbucks.” He’d smile finding your beaming smile in the video towards him to be so cute.

💚“I’m so stupid, why did you film me?” You’d huff.

💚 He has very short videos of you sleeping on his shoulder or his bed. Sometimes it's of you sleeping in his arms too. And of course, it’s in your not-so-sexy pajamas so you look so unappealing in your opinion but he disagrees.

💚He has even caught you wanting him to stay after he takes you bed.

💚Later on your medication was still acting up but your behavior of course changed and you acc we epted that he was your boyfriend too.

💚He has ones where he’s pranked you like if he switched your food with something you didn’t like.

He can see the fatigue in your eyes, the nausea written in the way you hold yourself. He does not miss that feeling.

"Hey, yknow you look awesome today! Like one of my favorite killers in this old movie I love!! Hes super awesome, we need to watch it later." he'd go on a rant, pointing out all the features on you that reminded him of another man.

The moment he saw your shoulders relax and your posture straighten, even if its only a little, he relaxed a bit too.

Days indoors when you both suffer from the same terrible affliction, holding each other and avoiding touching places that may trigger any further upset.

Whispering to each other about how handsome you find the other, watching movies and playing games to take your minds off of the shared feeling.

If you do makeup, maybe you can teach him how to contour his face for when hes feeling like his face isn't as masculine as he'd like.

Hes good with his hands, but with brushes? A sorry man for sure.

In the end, it is always you and he that are there for one another, playing with each others hair and enjoying the silence of a morning in.

This was a small comfort for me to write, I hope it offers the same small comfort for all of you who have ever felt the way I do.

Hi!! Gonna ask this to everyone I can think of, do you have any AUs you like/made up for cats? Or for bluebelle?

HI HELLO‼️ sorry for the delay in answering 😭

It’s hard for me personally to come up with AUs for Cats, (mostly because of the cognitive dissonance with the names. It’s so difficult to get past the names), so I personally only have a couple. Firstly, Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare.

I saw the show live and I just felt that the whimsy of it really matched cats, and I have all of the roles planned out, I think it would be very interesting and fun to write out :). I don’t want to go into too much detail here, (I really don’t want to make this post a thousand years long 😭), but if you’re interesting, just shoot me an ask and I’ll be happy to rant about it, I love Shakespeare :D

I have another au that I unfortunately can’t reveal right now, as it’s something I’m currently working on, but I promise it’ll be out soon :D

It’s a French movie about Bluebeard and it’s one of my favorites, it’s very vaguely historical, very gloomy with some REALLY fun scenes and ideas.

I’m more than a little obsessed with it, and at some point I REALLY want to do something with it, maybe a redraw of a still with Bluebelle, but who knows :)

WWE need better writers man, and they need WOMEN ON THEIR CREATIVE TEAM!!!!!!!! I will never shut up about that!!! We need more women in these positions in wrestling! Whenever this is said people are like “no people should be hired on their ability” so women are not capable now or what?!?!?!?? Like I’ve seen people on here jokingly say they should write for them or apply when there is a vacancy and I always hope that people do because there are some real real creative amazing writers on here (you’re one of them btw!!) who would genuinely do a much better job given that 1. they’re fans of the product 2. know how to build and create good plots and stories!!

personally, i do like the idea of it being all three of them, just because they do have so much history, and you know me, i love the layered shit. the shield came in as punk's muscle, but they all ended up hating him and vice versa. seth fucked over and broke up the shield, forever cementing the rivalry between him and roman. seth and roman hate each other, but they also hate punk. punk hates both of them. there's just so much hate and backstory.

however, i do think and agree with you, and please don't ask how, cause i'm not really good with explaining the why's, the build up should have/could have been different. i know they had him selling the injury from the rr, but i do wish roman had started making more appearances to build up the triple threat.

cause, at first, just to me, it felt like roman was "dropped" in. that transition wasn't as smooth as it could have been.

i def do think the writing team needs some work. some folks need to be let go and others need to be let in. and, i 10000% agree with you that some of the folks on here should be hired, cause the storytelling is impeccable. thank you for thinking i'm one of them writers, too 🥺❤️

gonna be super duper controversial with this one so im putting on bubble wrap to protect myself but least favourite donnie is… rise. oops. HEAR ME OUT!! i am totally fine with others liking rise don. i get the appeal. but my heart will forever love gentle, soft, sweet donnie, and whilst the change up in rise is COOL as hell, i just can’t with the sarccy, cold, snarky version of him. (plus i have a LOOOOT to say about ahem. certain stereotypes when it comes to writers creating canonically autistic characters but that’s another rant for another time) ONCE AGAIN!! i still enjoy his character!! but i just don’t find him to be my favourite.. okay swiftly moving on lol

Mac adopts Bai He and she's a MENACE, like, pulling a knife on Mac for forgetting to make lunch. She COULD be out actually hunting something with her cat, but Mac won't let her out for that long. So threatening to eat him for not feeding her is a good pick.(This is partially because not all of LBD's powers and insanity left her after being unpossessed)

MK calls Pigsy Da/dad, Tang Pa/papa, SWK Ba/baba, and Mac Ma/mama (Don't ask why he gets four dads)

Spider Tang. Stole it from somewhere but he's the Spider queen's eldest kid and Huntsman is so attached to him, but he only stays with them for a week out of the year, and before he goes, he has to wash off, change clothes, make himself not smell like pig demon, and take his glamor off and rough himself up a bit and remember where they live. He hates pretending he doesn't like them, especially with his little brother, but, it's what has to be done.

Huntsman clings onto his lanky brother and yowls like a cat, yelling at him about how worried they were, and SpQ squeezes him till his eyes are bulging out like those toys, you know the ones.

He actually cries and stays a little longer when Spindrax gets home. He's the oldest and loves his siblings, what're you gonna do?

Also yeah, Spindrax exists, but she's been traveling to 1. find herself and 2. hopefully find a new place to nest, either make her own clan or for her family to move, then LBD happened, and she wondered around the city with her bike till she met Lin (I named the demon manager, she's the copper to Jin and Yin's gold and silver and is the oldest and has to babysit them) Lin took her in and makes her help with some stuff(mostly wrangling her brothers) till she sees Tang unglamored and follows :) Tang is a couple minutes older than Spindrax and they both have 6 arms and look pretty similar--- untill Tang gets his cicada bits.

Also he gets really nervous when Scorpion Queen gets brought over as SpQ's gf. Only thing ScQ says are that his glasses are familiar and he responds with "Yeah, well, these are cheap, so lots of people would have it..."

Nearly gets busted when he's calling MK and Pigsy to tell them that he's staying longer, and SpQ tries to meet her grandbaby and son in law. Mei's mum didn't get enough calcium before having girlie's egg so Mei's egg was disconcertingly soft, like it was turtle egg texture instead of a thicker chicken egg.

Mei's Mum was also really sick for a while before a doctor came to check on her and did what lizard owners do: Calcium powder and egg shells

Rumble and Savage exist, they're just kinda,,, husks, shells of beings. They have very subtle personalities(Rumble being more flight than fight and Savage the opposite) and the rough intelligence of a dog/3 year old human, and, once Wukong gives a bit of his magic to them to fully form them proper so they can be like, people, then they're gonna be two menaces and Wukong will regret that.

Rumble becomes very noisy, Savage.... ends up weirdly quiet, rarely talking and only hissing most days. Rumble understands Savage perfectly, tho

MK has 5 parents: two bio dads, the goddess that used a bit of his bio dad's magic as a starting point for his, and his two adoptive dads.

MK has 3 siblings that need muzzles and leashes: Bai He, Rumble, and Savage

Silktea. Huntsman goes to Sandy's place for tea and snuggles if he's feeling like crap and might strangle Syntax. There's this calico-siamese pair of cats that absolutely ADORE him, and NEVER leave him alone till he leaves.

PIF and DBK are actually great parents once they're together again, PIF wasn't as attentive as she should or wanted to be with Redson cus she literally was crying for days at a time in her room, DBK's mom came over to take care of Red son while his mother greived.

Red son loves his grandma and whenever she comes over (which is rare cus she's a traveler at heart and rarely in the same place for as long as she was with Red son) he actually cries and she picks him up like "look at how much you've grown!"

Her and PIF have an... ok relationship, tho(this is becoming an oc who I will name later) like an uneasy understanding and a silent agreement to not fight or make a scene for DBK

Nezha has tremors in his hands and arms, and sometimes he feels like he can't really hold anything without possibly dropping it or spilling a drink. He found those big 12oz sippy cups and screamed cus holy shit two handles, really big, NOT GONNA SPILL MUCH EVEN IF HE DROPS IT!!!

Also he'd love MLP, favorite is Twilight and would ramble about her endlessly and his own hcs and would learn to draw her really well and redesign her endlessly(comfort character)

He doesn't like Sunset Shimmer, absolutely hates her, someone got him a Sunset toy and he threw it at them and has not spoken to them since. It has been three years.

Mei, MK, and Red son are all littles in diffrent ways, Mk's usually a teen but occasionally slips lower around Mei, Mei's usually 5 and Red Son always is a calf and is usually in his full demon form, either having the zoomies or falling asleep standing up.

MK's a big brother CG, Mei's a big sister CG and Red son's a mama caregiver(I take no shit) and he's nice and warm to cling to when the other two regress. :)

Pigsy doesn't mind when MK's regressed, just treats the kid the same as he did with a bit of extra help if he slips younger. MK LOVES stories at any age and Tang rereads JTTW to him, sometimes before bed if MK can't sleep.

Mei hasn't told her parents she regresses, but MK, Red son, and the main group know! Sandy tends to babysit and MK helps cus MK's better at playing and Sandy keeps the dragonet from doing something dangerous.

Red son's told his parents, MK, and Mei. DBK doesn't fully get it but he sees it as a way to spend the time with his son he didn't get to spend with him cus of stuff. PIF sees it a similar way, and loves carrying Red son when he's little or playing chase with him when he's got the zoomies. Kinda like this:

Also Nezha can be a little too, my boy deserves to not have to act all adulty sometimes. He's usually about 12, and LOVES board games like guess who where his tremors don't effect how well he plays(Like with games where you gotta move tiny pieces like in monopoly, that gets difficult for him, especially on the other side of the board)

Uno is only for better days when his tremors are more mild, even then Red son was tired of his moping ass in the corner of his vision so welded together a stand Nezha can place the cards in, it's just two slabs of metal connectied at a roughly 110 degree angle, with a few more, smaller and thinner sheets of metal on the angled one to make a little holder for the things.

also she grows a beard and mustache in her other forms and she's debating if she should or shouldn't glamor the beard and whiskers back on her human form cus it makes her look more "Regal" apparently, but also she doesn't want people staring at her cus it gets annoying.

Nezha would have a squishmallow collection so big to the point that there's a whole corner of his room that's just for his sqishmallows. His favorites stay in his bed so he doesn't lose em in the mess.

OK I FINALLY GOT TIME SO this is probably gonna be a series of asks if Tumblr decides to limit my characters (i dont feel comfy coming off anon in the tt community sorry)

First we gotta talk about the Cogs since all of the gag/reward stuff is gonna have to be based on them

.Exes and .Mgrs were a very welcome change. .Exes instantly give every battle some variety in requiring you to think to take them down instead of memorizing a chart of which combos wipe a group (fuck Zap Camp too btw), and .mgrs were a much needed shakeup, away from the 4 main bosses which got repetitive as hell, that allow just about all the gags and prestiges to shine in some way

Skelecogs and Virtuals in the same way as .exes force you to be on your toes thanks to the varied hp and debuff resistance, virtuals in particular being a good choice for the OCLO, sorry v2.0s but you're boring

Cogs do more damage in general, which emphasizes either taking them all out or stunning them, and Content Sync definitely helps with that. Even with how controversial it was at the start, it was a good choice

Cogs have proper scaling AND HAVE LEVELS HIGHER THAN 12 FINALLY TTR WAS SO BAD AT THIS AND THEY DONT EVEN LET YOU SEE THE NUMBERS WHY TTR MUST YOU BE LIKE THIS

Ok now onto the gags:

ORGANICS ARE SO BAD, PRESTIGES ARE SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING, FUCK GARDENING ALL MY HOMIES HATE GARDENING

Level 7s, while I miss Railroad my beloved, were really badly done and limited where the game could go

LURE COMBO BONUS SUCKS DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-

Ahem.

Toon-Up: As stated, Cogs deal much more damage, so TU has much more use, especially in .mgrs. The self heal was also something that shouldve been in the game forever ago, and not just relegated to a prestige. At least the Prestige makes you heal even more now. However, TU MISSING was a shit idea on TTO's part because it was the only way they could get Toons to go sad in the sound spammy lure left kill right meta if everything missed. Now you might be forced to take damage, so your cannon missing would be a death sentence. Thank god they removed that early on in 1.3. also the accuracy buff is AN INTENDED MECHANIC THANK GOD

Trap: Trap FINALLY HAS USE CASES OUTSIDE OF LIKE LAWFICES. First off, it's an .exe killer. The hard counter to them. Bye bye mr .exe. And then Clash gave it Dazed, which made Trap/Drop an intended strat too. But also it's just BIG NUMBER. The Prestige is EVEN BIGGER NUMBER. This means you can oneshot even really big Cogs with like a prestige trapdoor where TTR wouldve needed an organic (also bad) TNT

Lure: Yeah Lure Decay was bad but they learned in 1.3, and instead we have a much better system with the per-gag knockback, which lets you deal even more damage with each throw or squirt gag you use, where instead of a hypno doing the same 50% total base damage as a $10 bill, $10 bills do more damage than hypnos. I legit almost stopped carrying 10 bills in clash entirely and went with like 15 magnets instead UNTIL they changed it like that. Also, using a Group Lure with a Single Lure actually synergizes well, especially with Throw setups in like OCLO, since the damage values vary, you can lure and IOU (more on that later) both, with your main target getting a 50 bill, before nuking them with 4 throws, for at least 400 extra damage (460 with prestige!), ON TOP OF THE ADDED COMBO DAMAGE SINCE LURE KNOCKBACK COUNTS FOR IT NOW BY THE WAY. In comparison to TTR which actually nerfed the most useless Organic. And again, I must stress this: LURE BONUS SUCKS DIIIIIIIIIII-

Throw: I'll admit, when I saw it in the QA patch notes, I was hesitant to say the least, but THROW SWAPPING WITH SOUND CHANGES SO MUCH. First off, NO MORE "you lure and throw, ill wedding *uses bike horn*" GREENING. Second: THROW IS JUST SO GOOD AS A DAMAGE DEALER. Combined with the lure changes above, you can deal insane damage to .mgrs with it and Lure. You could probably do an entire Litigation Team with just Lure TU and Throw if you wanted. But it doesn't stop there. Something i neglected to mention is how ALMOST EVERY GAG HAS A UTILITY ATTACHED TO IT. Throw's is a 10% damage vulnerability, and it allows you to do so much. Fun fact tho, it used to have that damage vulnerability as a Prestige, and it scaled with each throw used, but only for 1 turn, and this was when throw was second to last, so it was only really useful for Drop. Now only one person needs to use it and it affects EVERYTHING past it. Got a higher level cog in the mix with some easily soundable ones? Just hit it with a cream, and now it takes even more damage! Just soaked and trapped a .mgr for the accuracy boosts on drop? Add one more debuff to boost Prestige Drop even more (with a free stun!)! AND THEN you add the cherry on top of the Wedding Cake, the self heal prestige. This was absolutely a welcome change, taking some of the heat off of TU and unites as your only healing, to the point that I'd say you should always have your Throw Prestiged. My only complaint is that Toons should take a bite out of it and say "Om nom nom" to heal before throwing it if it's prestige.

Squirt: Squirt in TTR, Throw's crappier brother. Squirt in Clash? Oh man. I'll go more into it in Zap's section, but Zap alone gives Squirt so much use. On its own though, it's still very good. Soaking is good as a dodge debuff, setting up for quick drops on Cogs. But the SINGLE change that made Squirt so good is Splash Damage. Before 1.3, Squirt soaking multiple Cogs was stuck behind a Prestige, so you were basically forced to either run Pres Squirt or don't run it at all. Now, however, not only can you soak multiple Cogs, but it deals free, non-unluring damage to the Cogs on the sides! You can effectively just chip away at a lured Cog until you're ready to take it down, which like the Throw/Sound example above, allows you to lower the Cogs to juuuust enough in just the right way to where a specific Sound threshold kills. Unfortunately, Prestige Squirt kinda gets the short end of the stick, since unless you're running a solo building, you kinda don't need it for most situations. idk what they could do to fix that tho, it's still fine on its own, just usually overkill.

Zap: And now, the thing that singlehandedly both gave Squirt a purpose and alienated a ton of TTR elitists for the better or worse. Before 1.3, Zap was fuckin weird. Zap could change direction, but only if it was prestiged, jump over other cogs including dead ones, there was no jump pool, just a specific set of 3 decreasing numbers correlating to the order it jumped to, which led to charts getting made for specific groups- it was a lot to take in. Those who were able to master it were REALLY GOOD at taking down groups, but were also pretty toxic usually (hence the "fuck Zap Camp" comment earlier). Also, it was the same as Squirt: either run it prestiged or not at all, which fed into the toxicity even more. Now though? It's pretty good. It can be a few different things, a decent AoE on 3 Cogs with lower damage on 2 of them, high damage on 2 Cogs, with some thought into aiming based on prestiges (for unprestige, aim directly at the target, for prestige, aim at the opposite target for more damage), or a kill confirm on an already soaked Cog. It's way more user friendly now, and I will say seeing Zap Camp's charts be completely ruined gave me a little schadenfreude. Sorry, this was a little community ranty, I again have bad experiences with some of the older members.

Sound: SOUND IS NO LONGER META. I REPEAT, SOUND IS NO LONGER META. This comes down to Squirt/Zap being good AoE, as well as 2 more changes to Sound itself: 1. Sound swapped with Throw in the gag order (from 1.2 and back, not tto), and 2. Encore and Winded. First, the swap makes it to where if you're using Sound on Lured Cogs, it's less likely to troll, but for a specific reason. And even if it is to troll, there's ways to get around it better, since Throw and Squirt won't be affected now. And then we have Encore and Winded, two sides of the same coin. It's great to use your Encore bonus to deal tons of damage to a single Cog, but you could always risk being winded to take out an even bigger group now at the expense of having to wait to use sound again. This alternating pattern of Sound into anything else, along with the fact that Sound can't just wipe out everything in the game now makes sure Sound isn't necessary to beat most things. It's still kinda meta for Buildings and Facilities, but those are kinda harder to fix. Oh, also the prestige is the same as Trap, bigger number is better.

Drop: Oh boy, another gag with a tumultuous history. I'll go over this in the IOU section (yes im doing rewards), but to be Barry Brief, in the early days of Clash, Drop had a bug that made it do AoE damage, which some toxic players abused to hell and back, cramming Drop into the top spot of gags, before being squashed in the 1.2 OCLO update. As for Drop now, it's a really nice damage dealer. Not so much for normal bosses, where it's typically just a finisher for a big Cog, but for .mgrs it can be devastating given enough setup. Trap, Lure, Squirt, and either TU for accuracy or IOU for damage, then Throw and 3 Drop. Now, if you were running Unprestige Drop, it would only get a slight boost thanks to Throw, and the other gags the turn before were just to make sure it hit. But slap a Prestige on, and a single debuff adds 10% damage, with an extra 5% for each additional debuff, with Throw's vulnerability counting as a debuff, which STACKS with the Prestige boost, so those two turns just got you an additional 20%, on top of what Throw adds on the pile. And then consider Drop has a 30% combo multiplier instead of the usual 20% combo damage, and .mgrs start dying quickly. Most .mgr fights I do, I run Prestige Drop.

And now, onto the rewards.

IOUs: So before 1.3, we still had SOS cards, but these were the trickiest reward to balance, even more than Unites. On the underpowered side, we had the 1.2 SOS: a percentage increase for 2 TURNS. PERIOD. Wanted to setup for Drop? You better do it quick, because if Drop misses on that second turn youre SoL. Not that it'd matter because for a lot of gags it did jack. But then we have the other, darker side. The ORIGINAL SOS CARDS. If you played TTO or TTR, you already know how busted those things were. But do you remember that bug I mentioned making Drop an AoE gag? This is where it originated. SOS Cards inherited the Combo damage dealt to a single Cog and gave it to the rest of the Cogs as well, so you could potentially deal a ton of damage to multiple Cogs just by nuking one with Combo damage and using an SOS to spread it out. Do you remember Rain, that random IOU you get guaranteed in the VP that gives you and a friend a +15 damage boost on your next turn? Yeah they used to be a simple 20 damage Drop SOS you could get (and farm) from Derrick Man. You know, in TTC. Who at the time had only 63 HP, enough for an Opera pre-1.3 to kill in one hit. All that's left is an incentive to use Drop en masse... Oh? Old Drop had increasing Combo damage for every Drop gag used, up to 50%? And every Prestige Drop used added an additional 5% Combo damage, up to 70% with 4 Prestige Drops, or 65% with one person using an SOS? You can probably see where this is going. The only thing holding it back was the fact that it wasnt guaranteed to hit- OH WAIT TOONS HIT EXISTS IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM STILL. It was bad. Like "anyone who deviates from the Meta is bad" bad. I was one such very vocal dissenter of Team Drop, advocating that Throw was a good gag, and I got shit on hard for it, to the point where the people who still had a grudge long after fabricated false accusations and threw me out. Ugh this got too personal, sorry. Where were we? Oh yeah, IOUs! They're pretty good now! The fact that they use flat numbers and last a set amount of GAGS used means that setups are easier than ever, and even if you miss, you can still use it again with the boost! They're good for pumping out big numbers! They also affect things like Throw self heal and Splash Damage, so keep those in mind too! I personally like using a Sid Sonata after firing the first Cog after feeding round in CEOs to save on operas.

Unites: I have mixed feelings on how Unites were handled, but I'll save that for the Forges section. As for Toon-Up Unites in their current state, they're pretty good! The Cooldown is honestly a needed nerf (so much so that TTR has it now lmao), and the fact it's percentage based means the heals are more fair! (though if someone is really underlaffed for a fight, they might still get squashed even with a unite). Pretty gud!

Forges: Rest in Peace, Gag-Up Unites. You were so slept on. Forges are the worse version of Gag-Up Unites. Instead of everyone getting their gags restocked, even by a little at the expense of you specifically getting a decently sized cooldown, you can only restock a single gag at a time, and if that gag is too high, you get put on cooldown. Why. In a vacuum, they're ok, but it just feels wrong. They could have left Gag-Up Alls in the pool and kept them how they were with only level 7s or lower, but no, ALL GAG-UP UNITES MUST GO apparently.

Sues: honestly better than fires, imo. Let me explain. Both Sues and fires remove a Cog from the fight. "But wait!" You say. "Sues dont remove a cog from the fight, they just make a Cog not attack!" In theory, yes, that's all they do. But because they don't attack, they're basically out of the fight. However, they aren't OUT of the fight, meaning they take up a slot. And because they take up a slot, that means you can just ignore it and focus on the other 3 that are there. And guess which gags work very well with 3 Cogs instead of 4. Just remember to give them a tap every now and then and they won't ever bother you. Also iirc theyre meta to deal with oclo phase 1 lmao. However some fights don't let you use them as much, so be careful.

Fires: Despite what I just said, Fires are still really good. It's just their uses are more limited. The main examples I can think of are the first Cog after feeding round in CEO, as stated earlier, the Featherbedder fight, and Major Player's Dance Partners. Killing a Cog instantly is still killing a Cog instantly, after all.

WHEW that was a long one, sorry for the personal bits, I just wanted to share my thoughts on Clash's balance for a long time, and I'm glad I finally got to do so. Clash is in a much better state than it's ever been, and I can't wait to see how things are shaken up later.

Oh, one more thing.

I was curious about those Gag-Ups after seeing them from a Multislacker fight stream just a year ago because I didn't know they were still around at 1.3, too bad they don't exist anymore 'cause they would be very useful in longer fights such as with Pace (round wise) and Chip. Maybe there's a good reason for the removal balance wise... hopefully

The SOS cards was something I was wondering about too after hearing someone say a long while ago that they wished those were still around, based on this I can see why they were removed though
