Daddy Daughter day

As you and Simons daughter -Lily- gets older, the more he mourns how she was when she was young. She was all bright eyed and would cling to Simon every change she could.

But now, she’s 14 and that once close relationship is crumbling away.

Now, it’s not like she’s a bad kid. She gets good grades and is always respectful to you two. She’s just…..not as eager to hang out with Simon.

After another Friday night of her hanging out with her friends, Simon’s at home stewing.

There’s a rerun of Lily and his favorite movie and now he’s too pissy to enjoy it. He’s grumbling something along the lines of ‘Im too sad to watch it’.

You roll your eyes and smile. “Si. You know Lily loves to spend time with you. Just not like how she used to.”

“‘Ts bullshit, birdie. She doesn’t even want to go to car shows w’ me.”

“She never wanted to. She hated going to those, but she knew it made you happy.”

He furrows his blonde eyebrows in disbelief. ‘No way.’ He thinks. ‘His best memories with his daughter couldn’t be due to her wanting to please him.’

“Come on, Si. You just need to do stuff that appeals to 14 year old Lily, not 7 year old Lily.” You gently rub his shoulders.

So, that’s how he ended up at the mall with Lily, 200£ and a goal to spend time with his daughter.

She flits around from store to store, blabbering about the things in them.

Simon couldn’t care less, but now it’s time for him to suck it up and deal with his boredom.

They eventually end up at the food court and he gets some pretzels. He hands one to Lily, who chose a table towards the back.

Eventually, after a few minutes of awkward silence, they see a poster for their favorite movie from when she was a kid.

Standing right in front of it are her friends. She looks away, worried they’d spot her hanging out with her dad.

“Wha’s wrong?” Simon squints a bit, knowing she’ll try to bullshit him.

“Nothin’. Jus’ thought I saw someone I knew.” Simon looks over at her friends.

“Worried they’d see you with your ol’ man, eh?” Even though his voice sounds joking, it isn’t. He is really hurt over feeling like an embarrassment to his kid.

“No, no. It’s just….their dads are kind of…..pricks. And I don’t want them to be upset I have such a cool one.”

Simon can tell she’s fucking with him on this. Sure, he’s met her friends dads and they are kind of assholes, but he definitely isn’t cool.

“If ya’ so embarrassed ‘bout hanging out with me, go.” He gets up and walks away. People move away from his fuming form like he’s on fire.

He gets a ticket for that movie, a last ditch effort to remind him of a simpler time. He sits down, crossing his arms and having a small pout on his lips.

The cheesy comedy movie begins and it doesn’t help. He still feels like an asshole. He knows he got a bit sensitive about Lily not wanting to hang out with him and he became a dick.

30 minutes into the movie, someone opens the door and comes in. It’s Lily with tears rolling down her cheeks.

She sits down a few seats away, clearly not knowing what to do to make it right. But Simon knows she’s trying. He moves a seat closer, and so does she, until eventually their next to eachother.

“‘M sorry you think ‘m embarrassed of you.” She sniffles and whispers.

“‘M sorry I made you feel like a dick for growing up.” He wraps a burly arm around her and gently hugs her tight.

They watch the movie, talking about how shitty the quality is and how predictable the ending is.

But, this is Simons new favorite memory.

Why?

Because. His baby girl is finally spending time with him again.

And that’s perfect to him.

the soft silence of early mornings in switzerland were everything to you and sebastian. 

it wasn’t that your days were over-the-top, but with a four year old, a two year old, and another on the way, the two of you relished in any alone time you could get. even just sitting on the porch and watching the sunrise seemed perfect with each other. 

“coming to the tail end of this, huh?” you murmured, standing behind seb with one hand wrapped around him to rest on his bump. “you feel ready to have another one running around yet?”

seb smiled. he leaned back against your chest and rested his hand over yours. he took a sip of his tea and sighed. “definitely ready to be able to see my toes again … not sure how ready i am for the crying, but i know it’ll be worth it.”

“it will,” you agreed.

a light kiss pressed against your husband’s temple was extent of the interaction for the next few minutes. that was the wonderful thing about your relationship. you didn’t need to speak to be able to feel like you had spent quality time together. you didn’t even really need to interact. just standing like this, watching the sunrise and listening to the birds chirping fill the otherwise silent morning was enough. 

“you think this one will let us sleep a little more?”

seb laughed, swatting your arm gently and turning his head to give you a disapproving look—only slightly discredited by the smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “you leave my babies alone, they tried their best.”

“your babies?” you teased. your lips pressed light kisses down sebastian’s face before you reached his lips. “i thought they were our babies, seb? or is there something you need to tell me?”

“i’m so sorry …” he replied solemnly, obviously just playing into the joke. “i didn’t want you to find out like this …”

an amused huff left your lips as your hands dropped to the rub your husband’s baby bump. “you hear that, bean? papa’s being mean to me.”

“i am not!” seb protested lightheartedly while slapping your hands away from his belly. 

“then what are you doing?”

“protecting my babies,” seb argued with his signature cheeky grin. “it’s your fault for insinuating that the girls were bad babies.”

you scoffed playfully, spinning him so he was facing you. “that is not what i said! they were beautiful babies, i’m just hoping this one is a … quieter beautiful. or are you telling me you enjoyed the screaming?”

seb hesitated.

“no …” he admitted begrudgingly, a small smile on his face. “you’re still on diaper duty.”

“you know eventually you’re gonna have to change a diaper, right?”

“four years, two kids, and you’re still putting up with it. are you sure i will?”

you laughed. it never failed to amuse you that seb knew exactly how whipped you were for him. “yeah, yeah, so i love you or whatever.”

“or whatever?” he gasped dramatically, poking your cheek with an exaggerated pout. “excuse me, sir, but that is not an acceptable addendum to saying you love me.”

“oh, forgive me, i meant to say i love you, i adore you, light of my life, my one true love, the only man to ever exist in my eyes,” you replied, just as dramatically. “better?”

“better,” seb agreed, leaning forward to kiss you.

if you got to spend every morning with him like this, you were sure you’d die a happy man.

a/n: sorry it’s been so long guys!!! lack of motivation and writers block is a horrible combo. hope you guys like this!!!!!! (also this is exactly 900 words. isn’t that cool?)

“you looked so good tonight, babe.”

axl’s words penetrated your heart and your mind as you both scrambled to get into your hotel room. guns n roses had just played at saskatchewan place earlier on, and instead of going out to party with the other members of the band, axl only wanted to do one thing. spend some quality time with you.

his skin was still sweaty from the two hour show he had played, but you didn’t care. those two hours had been agonising for you - watching your boyfriend sing and dance just metres in front of you and absorbing his stage presence that just commanded respect and not being able to do anything about it. you had crossed your legs and hoped for the best, but that didn’t do much for you. you prayed that no one noticed the subtle action, as you knew if someone did, you might never hear the end of it.

you kissed axl with fervour, now lost in the heat of the moment. he returned your passion easily. he guided you over to the bed, letting you fall onto it with a soft ‘thump!’. the loss of contact made you whine, and you turned onto your stomach to watch your boyfriend draw the curtains, the minimal light coming in from the moon and city lights now cut off.

“c’mere.” you said, looking at the silhouette just a few steps in front of you.

axl didn’t say anything back, instead moving to turn on one of the bedside lamps. you could see him again now. sure, the light was dim, but you liked that. it provided an intimate ambiance that a brighter light wouldn’t be able to give you. and it made axl look even more incredible. the understated yellow glow made his features look more soft, more warm. he almost looked vulnerable.

he came and sat beside you, his tender gaze stopping your thoughts in their tracks. you sat up and he leaned in to kiss you. this time though, it was a lot more gentle. the desperation of before was now replaced with something more affectionate and slow. the room with was quiet, the smack of his lips meeting yours the only sound.

disappointment hit you again when he pulled away. you looked at him with sad eyes, but those feelings were taken over by curiosity when your boyfriend asked you, “can i try something?”

“what is it?”

axl took off his blue bandana. you quickly realised where this was headed, blush rising to your cheeks. he tied it round the back of your head with ease, your eyes now covered.

“what do you think?” he asked.

“it’s… new. i like it. what are you gonna do now?”

“you’ll see.”

wow. that was hot. then, before you could think, axl was undressing you. you didn’t say anything, looking forward to what was to come. the slow drag of his fingertips on your skin as he removed your underwear was infuriatingly slow, but you continued to be silent with anticipation. you trusted him to make you feel amazing.

it started with small licks taken at the most annoying, leisurely pace you’d ever experienced. the sensation was welcome by you of course, but you couldn’t help but wish for more in your head.

axl continued at the same speed, occasionally breaking to whisper how you ‘taste so damn good’ and ‘are just fucking breathtaking’ - compliments that made you see stars. it was that which caused your first of many orgasms, and as your high crashed down over you, you felt like you’d reached a whole other dimension.

20-22 for Buffy?

20) part of canon you found tedious or boring

Not sure how unpopular a take this is but I think the run of episodes starting from Season 4's Beer Bad and continuing up through Goodbye Iowa contains, with the obvious exception of Hush, some of the dullest episodes the show ever aired. Not all these episodes are necessarily bad -- the infamous Beer Bad itself is actually solid enough, for instance, though I think it's a clear step down from the first episodes of the season -- but regardless of quality they are all just kind of boring. And, well, many of them are bad: Wild at Heart and Pangs and Doomed are all worse than any Season 3 episode.

The general impression I had of Season 4 until last year was that, even if it didn't have the best overall arc, it was a very strong collection of individual episodes, but honestly now I'm not sure that's true. There certainly are some very good episodes in this season: The Freshman, Fear Itself, Hush, This Year's Girl, Who Are You?, Restless but I think there are an awful lot of duds too.

I simply don't care about Riley, or the Initiative, or the mystery of what's in room 314, and so much of this era of the show is predicated on the assumption that I do. And what's particularly frustrating is that I would have liked to see so much more of Buffy and Willow in college. The show had previously mined the experience of being in high school to pretty good effect, after all. But as the season progresses you can practically feel the writers' lose all interest in the fact that the show is now meant to be set in a place of learning. Other than Professor Walsh are there even any recurring professors? Are there any other named professors? (There are, but good luck remembering them.)

21) part of canon you think is overhyped

Once More With Feeling isn't bad by any means -- if nothing else, it's incredibly impressive on a technical level that they were even able to make something like this working on the show's budget and time scales -- but it's baffling that it regularly gets suggested as the show's best episode. It's at most the third best episode of Season 6 -- after Bargaining and Dead Things and probably three or four other episodes -- and it doesn't come close to my own top twenty for the show overall. The plot is paper thin, the lyrics can be painfully literal in a way that prevents any interestingly nuanced character work and I'm sorry but at least a third of the songs just aren't very good.

22) your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

Could name a few characters here: Amy Madison. Kendra. Gwendolyn Post. And whatever happened to Sheila Martini? But I'll go with Buffy's actual canon relationship with her mother. Not the boring reductionism of 'is Joyce a good mom?' or the meek what-can-we-do? surrender that says that Joyce is just underwritten (because the show's writers were men! except for the ones who weren't, I guess), but a reading that takes Joyce seriously as a character and fills in the gaps and omissions in the text when necessary with the same sympathy and creativity that people have no trouble doing for the show's many, many underwritten male characters. I genuinely think Buffy's relationship with her mother is one of the show's three or four most important relationships when it comes to understanding who Buffy herself is as a person, and it baffles me that so few other people seem to appreciate it.

Why the fuck are there roller skates, dubstep, stage lighting, an LED screen, and all kinds of modern technology in Xilonen's trailer??? I thought Fontaine had the most advanced technology next to Schneznaya and arguably Sumeru, and every instance of high-end technology we have seen leaned more towards machinations with gears, magic, alchemy, essentially fantasy styled sci-fi???

The disrespect towards Native American and African cultures is enough to piss me off already, but it even goes against Genshin's own consistency with its fantastical world design..and for what? Just so you can have this...pop and gamer aesthetic???

Yoimiya's design isn't the most respectful and accurate representation of a Japanese firework craftsman, but at least you can damn tell she is Japanese. The large ribbons, hair accessories, tassels, leg covering, tattoo design, shoe style, and fabric patterns all allude to this (I apologize for not knowing the exact terminologies for these, this needs further research).

Then there's Mualani who has...what? Please do correct me if I am wrong here, but her character must be inspired by the real Mualani, a Hawaiian Chiefess. Additionally, her tribe's specialty is in tourism and vacationing, which further leads into the idea that she and her tribe are based off of Hawaii despite the known issues regarding Hawaii and tourism (if there are any good sources that summarize the issue, please do lmk).

I am not too familiar with Hawaiian culture, but there really is nothing about her design that reads as Hawaiian, or even just traditional, to me. What about a 2 piece swimsuit with bows and tails, a bow + braids + ponytail hair style, combat gloves (?), and an entire neon shark, is Hawaiian???

The characters, their designs, and their trailers, are just so culturally disconnected from their real life counterpart that it's even disconnected to Genshin's own world building and design. How the fuck is the fashion trend in Natlan denim pants. I feel like the only parts of Natlan that feel like Genshin Impact and culturally inspired are the in-game music and landscapes (God bless Hoyo-mix and the world designers).
