There was one bit in Badlands Rumble that made me laugh far harder than it had any right to actually and it was this moment here where Vash is trying to cut into the thomas meat or I guess jerky (sorry for poor quality :/)

See, here's the thing. Vash's irritation and anger is usually reserved for matters of life and death, or when people are being careless about these kinds of things. While he does get irritated sometimes around/because of other people, it's always a bit hard to tell whether it's, well... not genuine, because I wouldn't say he outright makes stuff up an awful lot, but he does have this tendency to divert attention by making his reaction about something else, or exaggerating his own feelings to comical levels. In this movie especially, he's acting near constantly, even if he's genuine in intent.

But here, he is completely alone. Amelia is conked out. There's no one to act for. And yet he can't get the knife through and just straight up yells out of genuine annoyance. Hjhfbdjfvh

Also, I'm not 100% sure about this but he yells and then the power lines just outside start sparking at the same time, and it's not Gasback because he's too far away and hasn't made a move yet, so like. Did he accidentally activate some Plant response out of sheer irritation??? Idk if it aligns with what we’ve seen Vash do in other media… was it just for effect? But that seems weird to me. If it really was his abilities that would I think make me lose it entirely - I'm not totally sure of the timeline but I don't think Fifth Moon has happened yet - has he just been sparking power lines every time he gets super annoyed like this and just never noticing??? Hello???

Anyways it's just kind of nice I guess to see him get irritated at something so low-stakes like this.

for my own gratification bc i just ran into nie mingjue hate in the wild, would you mind making a post that defends my poor good boy? he worked so hard and got gaslit to shit before getting murdered terribly ;; literally everyone sat there telling him "youre being too harsh" and he's just responding appropriately. like yeah, if you witness a murder, ya kinda got to do something about that as a clan leader. its kinda your responsibility, even when you care about the person who did the murdering. he was also a really young when he took on the role of clan leader and idk, it just made me rlly sad to see people dunk on him cuz wtf he's literally just trying his best in an impossible situation WHILE being perpetually fucked over by his clan's own traditional cultivation cuz now the stronger he is as a leader, the closer he is to going literally insane and dying bc of it. Oh no! I'm so sorry you had to go through Nie Mingjue hate! Truly tragic. I went through that once when in the beginning of me reading the books, when I still had no proper opinions, and never again.

I'm more than willing to make a post about Nie Mingjue! I'm always down to talk about Nie Mingjue tbh, he's my heart and love and if I were to have been given the opportunity to be his right hand person, I would have simply never betrayed his trust and married him. Rip Jin Guangyao but I'm different.

Anyways, I, huhhh, actually think you?? Covered it all??? Pretty much?? Yet I will talk about it. This will be long and non-coherent, because I don't have the books rn to find quotes in them and honestly, I could write essays on Nie Mingjue either way.

Nie Mingjue is a central piece of the narrative, despite the limited amount of appearances he made, and the fact that he wasn't close to the main characters at all. The entire second part of the plot revolves around him- it happened because of him. His murder is a tragedy; literally, by greek standards, man has Cassandra Curse all over him, so I don't get how people can tell me, confidently, that his death was warranted. I've been told the man had asked for it, and this has mostly been by Jin Guangyao apologists.

So let me make something real fucking clear.

Nie Mingjue did not deserve to die. Let's get that out of the way, anyone can fight me on that. Nie Mingjue had more good qualities than half the people in this fucking story, despite his flaws. After his father was brutally murdered when Mingjue was only in his teens, Nie Mingjue stepped up as clan leader. We can only speculate the hardships that await someone leading a clan at such an early age. Yet, political challenges weren't the only thing he had to battle; Nie Mingjue knew about his clan's harmful cultivation, and he knew he was going to die young. So what did he do? His best. Literally his best, always. He was always giving 100% of his abilities, because that's who he was.

Let's talk about who Nie Mingjue was, shall we?

When Jin Guangyao, still Meng Yao then, describes Nie Mingjue, he finds himself perplexed, because Nie Mingjue isn't like other men. He is not frivolous, and he has no vices; Meng Yao describes how Nie Mingjue never showed an interest in arts, or alcohol, or women. All he did was train, and fight the Wens during the war. It shows that he had a one-track mind from the start, and has got a strict discipline; yet this strictly disciplined man, leader of a clan that prizes strength, continuously indulges his lazy and undisciplined half-brother, his one and only heir, despite not understanding his interests. We gather, pretty quickly, that Nie Mingjue is a bleeding heart for his brother, and for the ones he loves in general. We see the same softer side displayed in the presence of Lan Xichen, and of course, for some time, Meng Yao.

People seem to think Nie Mingjue took Meng Yao's betrayal too harshly. As if somehow seeing a man he thought to have been just and honest commit premeditated murder, then cover it up, was something he was just supposed to get over. To this day, I can't believe how Lan Xichen was so understanding of it. But not only did Nie Mingjue catch him in a cowardly act - Meng Yao proceeds to manipulate him, using the fact that Nie Mingjue cared about him, to stab him in the back. Or front, however it happened. I get that Meng Yao was in a difficult position, that he suffered at the Jins, that he felt backed in a corner; but Nie Mingjue was a man that had extended his help to Meng Yao before, and even then, he went to find Meng Yao in righteous fury, ready to help him again. To Nie Mingjue, the idea that Meng Yao "had no other choice" but to kill - to kill in the manner he did - it could have been nothing but a betrayal.

One thing that I personally highly respected Nie Mingjue for was the fact that he did not judge Meng Yao for his background. This is not up for debate; Nie Mingjue stood up for him, quite publicly, quite vocally, when Meng Yao was being insulted over it. And not only that, but he promoted Meng Yao to be his right hand man, just like that. Because he's impulsive, and to prove a point, but it was still huge of him to do. Not even Lan Xichen would have done that - In a society built on power dynamics between social classes, Nie Mingjue was one of the few characters who did not let that define his actions. It wasn't because he was born privileged (though he was) but because he he didn't let anything other than his judgment direct his actions. Nie Mingjue also never shied away from anything; if it had to be done, he did it, no matter the cost.

Nie Mingjue was decisive, and had an iron will. When Meng Yao killed the Nie disciples in Qishan, he wanted to kill Meng Yao. Meng Yao told him, paraphrasing, that "don't you understand that if I hadn't done that, it would have been your corpse up there?" and Wei Wuxian takes it to mean "Translation: I saved you so you can't kill me, because that would mean you're in the wrong." So Nie Mingjue hesitated for a second, then said: "Fine! I'll kill you, and then take my own life!" And the only reason he didn't, was because Lan Xichen was there. Otherwise, Nie Mingjue would have killed his former friend, then followed him to whatever afterlife awaited.

Nie Mingjue is often portrayed like he doesn't understand stuff, like he's stupid, simply because of his black and white sense of morality. That's not correct: Nie Mingjue understands motive, but he doesn't accept the ends justifying the means. Scratch that, he doesn't accept or justify either, if they're unjust. The murder of the Jin commander, the murder of the Nie disciples, not executing Xue Yang - how can Nie Mingjue possibly understand Meng Yao's decisions, when Nie Mingjue would rather die, any day, than live thanks to vile actions?

And then, Nie Mingjue starts falling into qi-deviation. We know that it affected his temper the most, and his judgement. I don't understand how it works, really, so I don't know by the end how much was Nie Mingjue and how much was the mess that the spirit made of him - maybe a combination of the two. But what is certain, is that the rapid qi deviation changed him.

But I could write a hundred more pages on him, meticulously going over every single scene he has ever appeared in, because I find him that interesting. I find him the most interesting, and the most appealing character, because in a story where the navigation of the cultivation world's complex politics and hierarchies with tact and diplomacy is crucial, Nie Mingjue stands uncompromising in his principles, choosing duty and honor over anything else, even when it's hard.

"The flower pot incident" after the end clover spends like 10 minutes explaining everything about flowey, but he explains it like a little kid would, making it confusing as hell, so ceroba gives up and just like pats him and tells them to be good or smth, it was the same with everyone else

also bad quality comic of how the pot came to be

"What kind of milk were you?" the song came in as i was finishing the chapter and it fitted so well i named the chapter after it, as i mentioned it was me like poking gently to clover's life before the underground, his thought process was mostly thinking marlet was angry at them over doing the dishes in "secret" idk how to explain it but yeah :( poor little fella, also as noted at the end, flowey observed all happening and just like kept in mind

"Sewing back the pieces" I loved imagining how clover's room looked, and i had to include it, more joking around from the best friends, id like to think clover knows how to sew but they are just a bit clumsy with the needle, also those things are slippery...

"The calm before the mall" I feel proud about the title pun(? but this is also what i kind of meant with flowey keeping things on mind, by the time of this chapter a bit of time has passed of them living with humans, and flowey knows how stuff can be and how clover is a biiit shy so thats why the warning was persistent, it didnt work but meh

"Fertilizer is a fun word" IT IS A FUN WORD i love writing it lol, but seriously, i tried exemplifying more the thing of clover not speaking a lot so flowey does most of the talking for them, they do speak a bit but its short sentences and very quietly,

"You are just a boy, you are no man" this one will be long again the song fitted and it came on while writing the middle lol, clover does not know very well about the whole story with chara, but they do know that buttercups are meaningful in some sort of way for flowey so thats why they picked them, now is fun to note that the comments about their friends being monsters did bother clover but the one comment that like spilled the cup was the age one, that one hit deep and thats why they reacted that way, also the amount of people did not bother clover that much when they arrived but like the panic and stuff made them very aware of everyone around and med everything worse so ye, lastly, another time flowey calls someone idiot, this time dalv (sorry king)

Since the original SEEDS ships were explorer ships leaving a dead Earth, does that mean that someone, or a team of people, had gone through archives and decided which pieces media to take on the trip? Did they have to decide what to leave behind and what to take with? When the big fall happened, was some of this original Earth media lost? Is some of it undiscovered? we know radio exists and music too but what about movies and tv shows? can regular people still experience that or is it considered lost unless you live in one of the SEEDS ships? (if they can access it)

is it safe to assume that comics are where people like conrad and knives get their aliases from? nerds.

Are there artists out there on NoMan's land/ Gunsmoke? I wonder what their art looks like. It's shown in the opening of the fourth episode that tattoos are still relevant body modifications. Instead of canvas or paper, do people decorate their bodies with art? or is it to show symbols and status? plus, Vash's earring, so it's safe to assume that people still do that.

even if triggered by other flora, it will last a month. sorry canary.

he tries so, so hard to hide it. he.. kinda succeeds... but there are things that he can't hide.

for instance his body temperature rises significantly. enough so that if someone is sleeping next to him or touching him for whatever reason, they'd legitimately think the poor guy's deathly sick. he usually runs so, so cold.

but also usually he can't sleep. too much energy. can't sleep, won't get tired, but this leads to extreme boredom and (likely) shenanigans when he tries to do anything to get his mind off of fking/getting fked

some of this extra energy is given to his partner(s), so they also often dont feel the need for sleep. eventually they gotta though. don't mind the man with bright cyan eyes watching you from the corner of the room, it's normal.

inhuman qualities are enhanced: eyes more glowy, shows teeth more often (smiles, fangies outside lips, etc), faster, stronger, more vines, stronger glowies (harder to control when glowing also)

he um. also tends to get larger and longer when topping.

despite his Extreme Horny it's still only for people close to him. this. made blooms quite often just an inconvenience that he could deal with. having people he is involved with??? well now it's so over for him.

switches between blanketing himself in bed writhing around and pacing and going on MANY walkies. basically just keeps himself moving because it feels like his entire skin's gonna vibrate off his body.

getting what he wants does help, but the general feeling lasts a full month. it just gets weaker after a bit of a marathon. if fked daily, he feels (almost) normal every day! yay!

his taste changes from something akin to peaches (and slick) to a flowery-sweet aromatic flavor. skin, sweat, saliva, the man is practically a sprig of lavender. it may seem great, but the scent is extremely strong. can make it... difficult... to hide. in general.

An opportunity to air my hot take of Roy being able to have more than one ride or die friend. Dick is one of many, actually. Roy inspires that sort of dedication; he would give nothing less to his friends and those sincere feelings are reciprocated.

Doesn't matter if Dick and Roy grow apart with age or due to circumstance or because of any sort of falling out - they'd find their way together again if ever there's a time of need whether their support is wanted or not and they'd stick out whatever trial or tribulation awaits no matter how devastating or ugly and ahhhhhh

Anyway these two are peak supportive; they're each other's greatest advocates. They're equals through and through and it shows in how they challenge/motivate one another and have each other's backs

About the equals thing? There were absolutely growing pains for a bit there. Back in their younger years, Dick unwittingly gave Roy a bit of a complex, fueled by personal insecurities because Dick has so many innate qualities to him that Roy struggles with. Needless to say, Dick is very !!! when he finds out because why would Roy ever want to be like Dick when Roy is Roy??

The admiration and respect goes both ways and at first Roy is so confused, but then Dick starts hammering home all of the things he adores and finds amazing about Roy and Roy just OTL oh lord plz stop but also keep going???

I finally finished obx season 4 and here are my immediate thoughts... (SPOILERS under the cut!!)

Okay firstly, TikTok spoiled it for me so I knew JJ was gonna die. But like... WHAT THE FUCK. Why did I cry anyways lmfaooo. But also firstly let me address the elephant in the room. Not them hyping up Jiara for three seasons just to give us such a lacklustre "relationship" (if you could even call it that) in this season!! LIKE THIS IS SO INSANE TO ME. I don't care if the actors have drama in real life like I actually do not. I actually hate it when actors let their personal lives get in the way of their projects because the lack of professionalism is crazy like I'm sorry but that is just insane. The rest of us normal everyday folk go to work and get shit done every single day even if we hate our co workers. You have Sarah and John B who's actors are literally exes but they know how to show up to work and do their jobs!!

AND THIS ESPECIALLY SUCKED during JJ's death scene because Kiara was just not giving!!! Like IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SO MUCH MORE EMOTIONAL ON HER PART. Like if I was her I'd be all up in JJ's arms, or holding him in my arms like that's the love of your life about to DIE??? He is on his literal deathbed and you're here social distancing??? It should've been him in her arms, her cradling his head, cupping his face, holding him, trying to get him to hold on SHOWING SOME KIND OF CONVICTION. No! Nothing. Barely anything. No conviction, flat emotion. Someone said it must've been the stunt double dying in front her haha. No but seriously it's only when I saw John B's reaction to JJ dead that actually had me crying.

But anyways, apart from that let's move on to Rafe bc I know everyone loves Rafe and HONESTLY THIS WAS THE SEASON I FELL IN LOVE WITH RAFE BC WHY WAS HE SO CALM THIS SEASON???? WHAT HAPPENED TO UNHINGED RAFE?? But him and Sofia were soooo sweet together!! Although I really do not understand how he BROKE UP WITH HER after literally saying he didn't care what she did because he's done worse??? Like??? I really thought that was him saying it's OK, whatever you've done it doesn't matter. But no... my dude literally dumped her long distance over the phone WITHOUT LETTING HER GET A WORD IN even after his whole getting down on one knee, giving her his mother's ring and that whole speech???? IDGI. (But also he was so hot this season like sooo gorgeous that face card is insane holy shit and also he is soooo tall especially compared to Sofia and I thought all their scenes were sooooo cute ahhh he was soo touchy with her!!!! and in love!!!!)

But also top five worse Rafe moments was in Morocco when his poor pregnant sister Sarah is like... DYING and hasn't eaten in two days and he watches the rest of them steal food for her bc they don't have money AND THIS WHOLE TIME THIS BITCH RAFE HAD MONEY??? Like why did the writers make such a weird decision?? Bc they were clearly going for the Rafe redemption arc so it makes zero sense why would he not buy his sister food? He KNEW she was pregnant bc he was there at the fire when she announced it right???? DID I MISS SOMETHING???? idk i feel like this was weird on the writers' part.

ALSO SPEAKING OF PREGNANT SARAH???? This girl was hop skip running jumping SURVIVING STORMS AND SHIPWRECKS AND SANDSTORMS while pregnant?!?! WTF.... like damn ok.

ANYWAYS my favourite character was Pope because he has the most common sense and is the smartest and honestly HONESTLY in season 5 he needs to get away from the rest of them and go to med school and live HIS life!!! and also take Cleo with him bc they are so cute together!! and balance each other out nicely.

Overall I think it was a good season. Jiara died this season they were basically friends and nothing more but oh well. And i know everyone's gonna hate me for this and i know i ship Rafe and Sofia but LETS GOOO RAFE X KIARA (it's not gonna happen but i like to imagine it haha)

first of all, im kind of getting back into warrior cats...not rlly the books, but moreso the game clangen which im legit obsessed with, and its kind of similar to how i act w royale high. ill randomly be like 'oh hey i havent been on clangen in a while' so i hop on, get attatched to it for a week or 2 at most, and then wham bam thank you MAM!!! im sick of it and leave

but rn im back on it! and im kiiinnndddd of maaaaybbeeee considering starting a new clan and recording the events and stuff on a new blog/account/idk whatever thingy here on tumblr (for the billionth time... bc u have NOOOOO idea how many times ive started a new clan, been like 'oh yeah, this is the one', documented it for ages, then just gave up on it. i probably have like 10 random google docs floating around that are documenting random stuff in random clans </3) so yeah, idk if its gonna happen, especially bc i kind of need to focus on school rn, so idk. i might leave it to do it on the holidays but who knows if ill still be interested by then....theres always too much things going on around me and in my brain for me to even keep up

and also if anyone was wondering, yes i kind of am into warrior cats, i useed to love it as a kid and i still do. i remember playing the old roblox roleplay game back when it was just like rlly shitty cylinder morphs of cats back in grade 8 but let me tell u....the poor quality just added the more fun and charm to it. not even kidding, i loved it so much. i literally would stay up every single night so late just to rp, that game used to be my life, like i cant put into words how much i loved that game. every night i played the warrior cats rp game, that would be the highlight of my day, or the thing i was most esxcited abt after school was over. but things are different now, dont get me wrong the new and improved version of the game is rlly impressive, but ill always miss the good old days with the bad morphs of the cats </3 they will always hold a dear place in my heart, and same with all the fun and memories i made playing that game
