Happens all the time unfortunately and most people don’t understand that if you misunderstand or change one thing it can change everything, and d) people who are tasked with translating 99% of the time never even talk to the people team of people who actually published the original, much less are in contact with the author themself! Mistranslations and drastic creative liberties happen a lot for example in the fandom I came from (The Legend of Zelda), which you can see a bit here! And if you still don’t believe me, you can go ask Dear old Author Neil Gaiman, who has even had some of the characters in his books turned from lovers to sisters and everything, a lot of the time completely without his knowledge until fans point it out to him! If you scroll his blog, I’m sure you’ll find those posts for yourself, assuming he doesn’t see an ask from you on if it happens. ‘Tis a sad thing, but Asagiri-sensei likely doesn’t even know when a mistranslation happens, much less do these people sit down and ask him things directly before doing their thing. He certainly doesn’t have involvement overseeing the process; that’s an unreasonable thing to ask of someone when it involves other languages they may or may not even be fluent in. And all the proof we need that it’s wrong is that the JP novel and the Stage Play (both things that Asagiri was directly, heavily involved in and/or directly penned the words of/material of the script for himself) both contradict it. If you’d like to take on that claim, since you’re implying I’m wrong, have at it! The burden of proof is on you, so, I look forward to seeing you send me the individual JP source lines of the Eng translations you want to take a crack at defending and a long wall of educational text explaining why each part of the English translation got it 1,000% right, directly in my in-box. The thing is that nowadays, most of NCT's fanfictions on this platform are pure smut without any interesting plot and stories, which get lots of attention too. While I'm scrolling here,usually I don't find anything interesting enough to read and enjoy, something that will spark your interest that you want to read nonstop until you finish that and it occupies your mind for days( I remember those ol' good times I'd read EXO's fanfiction on asianfanfics and such wonderful stories they were...) so that being said, I really wanted to write fanfics on here. Something with a good story and complex plot, not just a smut scene putting together to satisfy our single soul(sigh...) and not to say that whatever I have in mind are great stories or anything, it's just that I really want to share these ideas with other people and write stories for NCT whom are my biggest muse.

But unfortunately, English is not my first language, and the result wouldn't be that good. Also, it takes lots of time for me to try and write in English compared to when I write in my mother language( there's also all grammatical errors too)

So it has discouraged me to start writing on here ever since I had all these stories idea and writing drafts.

And I wanted to ask you whether you could give me some advice on what should I do?

Or whether you think it's a good choice to give my drafts and ideas to some other writers here to write for me?

hi violet!! tysm you're very sweet. i'm taking my time to answer this bc i want my response to be helpful to you.

it's okay to be lost sometimes, and have these doubts. i never read stories on asianfanfics, in fact, i started reading last year on tumblr, therefore i'm not very expert myself on that topic, so i'll change the focus a bit, for example, one thing that helps me choose whether i'll like a book or not is the synopsis; i think a good premise of what the book is about helps the reader a lot to see if the book interests them or not. (crazy to say bc most of my work doesn't have one 😭)

about plotting: it is entirely subjective!! no paragraph is filler if it helps you immerse yourself in the story, and whether you like to give some context is entirely up to you. i also think that first paragraphs are important and should be engaging.

i just know your stories are good, don't worry about the language. if it's easier for u to write in your native language, you can always use any translation tool to change it to eng, although sometimes you have to give it several revisions to see grammatical errors. english is not my first language either, so something that helps me is grammarly, it has the option of synonyms and helps you with grammar. also, google docs have this tool that translates the whole document to any language you want, but again, you'll need to give it a look to find any errors and mistakes.

everything that has to do with your story is important. we don't judge a book by its cover but, sometimes we're visual readers, so you need a format for the info of all ur stories, such as a title, the pairing, the genre, content, word count, whether it has warnings, and a banner but this last one is optional. and the :readmore: cut.

about the smut, there are many fields and audiences, some works here are merely smut one-shots and most of them succeed because the prose is scrumptiously good ykwim.

lastly, i encourage u to give it a try to ur stories. i'm sure they're good and many other readers will think that too. there is always the option of requesting another writer to write them for you, but i think it won't be as satisfying as if you had written it, it's up to you ♡

Since I can't get myself motivated to draw part 2 of the cities, have some headcanons bout looks of few states (+ San Diego who I forgot, idfk how could I forget the golden child of Cal "[...] and we all like San Diego" ~ California)

"You better not drag me down, you piece of crap... ", mutters Aizou. Yuujirou quietly replies in an irritated tone, "You're the last person I want to hear that from."

!? A fight?

Hiyori looks at the two, a little scared. No one close enough but Hiyori heard their conversation. No one would have noticed that they glared at each other for a split second, either. 

Um... is this... because of me?

Maybe what I said before is something I shouldn't have said.

Did I do something I shouldn’t have..? Everyone has been pretty noisy for a while now.

Confused, Hiyori looks at the girls. Sure, they're both good-looking boys that stand out but Hiyori felt that shouldn't be enough to justify the amount of noise.

That is the boy that came out of the police station yesterday, right?

Aizou turns around abruptly and goes to his own seat, ignoring Hiyori on the way. And what's more, that seat is right in front of her’s. It's going to be very awkward but I can't just ask to move the seat that was already decided. Hiyori arrives at her own seat and cowers, still holding her schoolbag.

It's my first time meeting the person who sits in front of me, and I haven't even seen his face properly.

Hiyori flicks a brief glance at the seat behind her. He seemed to be in an extremely bad mood yesterday, but she couldn’t have mistaken him for someone else. She doesn't know what he did but, as it happens, they're in the same class. I should at least greet him, thinks Hiyori, and timidly turns around. No matter what the circumstances are, beginnings are important, after all.

"Um... I'm sorry about before--"

"Good morning! I'm Yuujirou Someya. Let's get along for the year!"

"Eh!? Ah, okay!!"

Hiyori was convinced that he would be in a bad mood but surprisingly, he greeted her with a smile on his face and a flustered Hiyori replies.

"Like...wise?"

Huh...? Maybe he's a nice person...?

"Which junior high did you go to?"

"Ah, I actually moved ‘ere -- I didn't go to any schools in the area."

Hearing his friendly tone causes Hiyori to forget and she subconsciously speaks in her dialect[1]. Hiyori feels slightly embarrassed but it seems Yuujirou didn't particularly seem to mind.

"I see~ Where're you from? Have you gotten used to things here?"

"Nope, not at all... I don't know how the trains work so I often make a lot of mistakes."

"Everyone's like that at first. Even I get lost at the big train stations. I'm sure you'll get used to it in time."

"I see... Yeah, I hope so..."

I thought he was someone scary at first, but... what a refreshing smile! Is this what the call the good-looking guys from the city!?

Not only did he have very pretty facial features, but he also spoke in a soft tone.

Why are city boys so different... And he looks much nicer than I thought he was... He seems easy to talk to.

The bell for homeroom rings and a teacher in a white coat walks in.

"Alright, alright, sit down."

Once all the students have sat down, the classroom was finally quiet.

"I'm Saku Akechi, and I'm going to be your homeroom teacher starting today. I teach classics, nice to meet you."

He introduces himself in a relaxed manner and turns around to write his name on the blackboard.

Why is he wearing a white coat if he teaches classics...?

Schools in the city are full of things that don't make much sense.

OK, SO BASICALLY IT'S LIKE 1 AM IN MY COUNTRY RIGHT NOW BUT I JUST CAN'T STAY SILENT ANYMORE

Y'all know Ronaldo, you know what he's like and all that stuff. Most of you probably find him annoying and today I will focus on WHY is he like that.

So yeah Ronaldo is a geeky boy living in that Lighthouse on top of the hill. He likes weird stuff (his blog is named keep beach city WEIRD it's obvious that he likes things like that) and doesn't really have any friends.

Yeah... We know that Ronaldo and Lars used to be friends, we know that Sadie and Ron can be consider as friends and that Ron is friends with Steven (who isn't, lol?) but now I want to talk about Ronnie's relationship with Lars.

Lars is the only person that we know to be Ronaldo's friend when he was younger. That's important. Ronaldo became a fan of weird stuff in a young age when he was still friends with Lars. After they relationship broke Ronaldo didn't have anyone (as far as we know ofc) he had to grow up alone but... That couldn't work. Our friends, our enemies, basically all the people around us are parts of who we are as adults, they're growing up with us but Ronaldo couldn't grow up. Ronaldo didn't have anyone to show him that '' ey, you know imagination is cool and all that stuff but you should chill a little, outside world can be fun too"

That explains lots of his actions - even the time when he threw Lars into that giant mouth.

Lars wanted to ruin Ronnie's little game and we all know how child can act when someone not only interrupts their game but tries to ruin it. He just tried to say '' You don't play with us anymore u r stupid >:(((("

Like, isn't that overwhelming? Isn't that sad, if Ronaldo would only have a friend through his teenage years he could be so much different. Now he's just a child trapped in an adult's body.

Without doubt I can compare him to Spinel, they were both just silly little kiddos that needed a friend but that friend never really came.

And can we talk about what would happen if adulthood would just stab Ronaldo from behind, he would just get so depressed, he would get so much worse. He wouldn't know what is he supposed to do, noone taught him that. He would just wake up every morning, drink coffee, sit down at his desk, write something about weird stuff in beach city but would lost any interest in it after days, and at the evening he would watch stupid people on TV with hope of being happy

OK maybe I'm taking it a little too far but well, I really needed to say it loud cause I feel just so bad for this poor soul.
