The gun he has been working on in his spare time (and his kitten knows this very well) is in the middle of the desk, exactly where he has left it. If not for the fact that, the moment he will try to test it, the weapon won't work as it's supposed to.

Instead of the high intensity laser it should shoot, the gun emits an odd, bright purple gas that swirls around the room, moving as if it was alive. Some of it wraps around Rick's body as an intangible rope, while other ribbons of smoke curl in the air in front of him to spell a few words.

Today's date was lost on Rick. As it always was, especially with most Earthen holidays that he held no interest in. Some might call him a clown but he didn't exactly do pranks unless he needed to get something out of someone. And he certainly didn't expect to be pranked today.

So when he found himself ready to work on his latest weapon, pressing the trigger to test the strength of the laser, he couldn't have expected that. His eyes widened at the purple gas, following it's sentient movements within the air.

And when those words spelled out in front of him, he tilted his head to the side. For the first time stumped and confused by what that was supposed to mean.

Turning on his heels, he meant to head over towards the lab. Surely his partner would have answers. Even if it didn't even occur to him that it was Evil Rick's doing. Despite the very obvious clues that he was hit with.

Yet, before he could cross the threshold, the corner of his eye caught the calendar that hung on the wall. He saw today's date and the very small print of words 'April Fool's Day'.

He stopped in his tracks, looked back at the puff of gas that still lingered in the air. The gears in his head spun and something finally clicked.

A puff of laughter that led into a fit of hysterics. His body leaned against the now closed door. And to think he was about to make an idiot of himself by showing his confusion. Good thing he realized now.

When he finally settled a bit, he took out his phone. Quickly typing up a few text messages. A smirk opening on his face. Devious and scheming.

He's slurring so it's obvious how he spent his evening, but he feels the need to tell Rhys anyway. "Danny let me drink for free 'cause I'm his best friend, and I might've had a little toooo many. A lot too many." He giggles, snuggling deeper beneath the blankets. "Okay well. I miss you! And your cute face. And your hands.." There's another sigh, this one dreamier than the last. "I like your hands, you know that? Your long fingers, and.. I like you, too." This last part is a whisper, his eyes closing and his grip on the phone loosening. "'M sleepy, baby. Gotta go, okay? Byeeee."
