“I always remember having this fight with a random dude who claimed that ‘straight white men’ were the only true innovators. His prime example for this was the computer… the computer… THE COMPUTER!!! THE COM-PU-TER!!!
Alan Turing - Gay man and ‘father of computing’ Wren operating Bombe - The code cracking computers of the 2nd world war were entirely run by women Katherine Johnson - African American NASA mathematician and ‘Human computer’ Ada Lovelace - arguably the 1st computer programmer”
- Sacha Coward
Also Margaret Hamilton - NASA computer scientist who put the first man on the moon - an as-yet-unmatched feet of software engineering, here pictured beside the full source of that computer programme. #myhero
Grace Hopper - the woman that coined the term “bug”

thoughts on today's volume...i don't even know where to begin, this sucked and i'm honestly just appalled 😭 FB somehow managed to make a reunion worse than boat party
FB is trying way too hard to make season 5 iconic, and it's just not happening. season 5 isn't bad in a camp way, it's just bad. a sensible company would've shelved that misogynistic, biphobic, & racist gaslighting-fest and apologised
and this is a major problem throughout the entire volume so i'll just condense it into one thought right here: whoever wrote this clearly doesn't understand their playerbase. absolutely nobody cares about these unemployed messy flops hooking up with eachother, sexting, cheating—shawn forcing max to sleep in the hotel foyer so he can have mechanic roleplay sex in their shared room ???—and whatever other nonsense they're doing. i was not gagged, i was gagging
i didn't take the diamond scene to upstage sophie or whatever because i don't care, but of course we're still forced to kiss somebody else that's not our partner for the sake of some corny drama. i wish MC could've walked out of this villa the moment liam decided to recommend a "kissing game," like she's not in a whole committed relationship
then we get a podcast challenge i guess . at first i was happy to see theo, only for him to immediately blow MC off because he's ... a little hurt ? even though he was fine in the last volume ? literally everyone except claudia, bea, and tyler was treating MC like garbage this entire reunion. (once again, MC doesn't have any friends . just enemies and people tryna smash)
several drawn out scenes of pure agony later, and my bby girl bella finally showed up !! she's the only saving grace of this pile of shit, and at this point i'm just glad they didn't ruin her too
(RIP to the finn girlies, at least bella & my s6 MC are happily together ❤️)
bea confessed to MC, i still picked claudia . this would've been the perfect moment for an "I love you" from your chosen LI but instead they ask to move in. Lmao
claudia my love, you deserved so much better than this reunion </3
for the first time ever i straight up skipped a group hug option, that's how you know i really was done with these mfs
i cannot find the words that could properly describe how horrible this reunion was. a complete dumpster fire of an ending to an otherwise okay-ish season. to top it all off we have confirmation that season 9 is dropping in three weeks. FB is not even giving season 8 some time to marinate, stew, simmer, or whatever. you get what i mean ? (tbh more like rot...😭)
i need a nap after this. venus out 🫡

Y/N Ulrich Universe First Anniversary
taglist: @volturi-girl-imagines @dessxoxsworld @camiesully @ethanlandryluver @nowitsmissing @aliciacat20 @gabbylovesreading @nikfigueiredo @itsaaliyah2
She got the title of the 'Ghostface Princess' when she started to do content of Scream on social media
The title of 'Serpent Princess' was because the cast f Riverdale started to call her that during filming and interviews
While rehearsing for Carrie: The Musical, she was Chris Hargenssen while Spencer, her boyfriend at the time, was playing Tommy Ross, and during one rehearsal, she pulled the rope with the bucket (empty) and accidentally hit him in the back, he was okay, only a bruise for a few days (they broke up in january because he moved to Iowa)
The one sided feud with Kira started because she thought Y/N last name was weird and funny, until she found out who was her father
Sometimes when she doesn't have space in her room or closet, she uses her siblings room as storage room
She knows how to play piano
Her favorite book series is PJO and The Selection
Her favorite fashion houses are Vivienne Westwood and D&G
She became a TS fan during 2011 after seeing the music video of Our Song, and the rest is history, she has been to three tours: 1989 with her family and friend group, the Rep Stadium Tour again with family and friend group, and recently to The Eras Tour with Jack
The first horror movie she saw wasn't Scream, it was Alien
Her first kiss was with Sarah, before entering high school they were talking on how both of them haven't had their fisrt kiss yet, so they decided to kiss so that way they didn't regret having it with some other person
She already knows that when her wedding day comes, the song for the dad-daughter dance is going to be 'Never Grow Up' by TS or 'Slipping Through My Fingers' fom ABBA, Skeet agreed to that because the songs makes him emotional
She was in the teather club since elementary school, participating in Beauty and the Beast as Plumette, Grease as Sandy, The Little Mermaid as Vanessa, Matilda as Matilda, Bring It On as Eva, Hairspray as Penny, Les Mis as Cosette, West Side Story as Graziela, Carrie The Musical as Chris Hargenssen, her last role was going to be Sophie in Mamma Mia until pandemic started
Once a year, Y/N and her siblings have a small golf competition
Her first fashion campaign was with Kate Spade at 14
One ime during the filming of Scream VI, Melissa and Xavier adopted her for a day having a family day
The first thing she bought with her first salary as a Riverdale extra was her Prada nylon purse and bobba tea
(This is going to hurt) Luke Perry was like a second father to her, when Skeet had to film a violent scene, he would always distract her, helping her with homework or things like that, also attending her school plays, so when he died, she didn't left her room for a week because she coulnd't stop crying, even if the memorial was held at the Ulrich household, and when TS released evermore, she did a cover of Marjorie in his honor that she posted on Tik Tok
Her favorite movie is Corpse Bride, and always cries during the Emily song and the final scene
Her campaigns with brands include Pretty Little Thing, H&M, Coach, Hot Topic, Kate Spade, Killstar, Rare Beauty, Nyx, Charlotte Tilbury, alo, BaiBai Jewerly, Oh Polly, Tous, Armani, Club L London, Petco (ft Tatum), Dolls Kill, Cloe, KitchenAid
Her fashion icons are Zendaya, Cher, Princess Diana, Rihanna, Audrey Hepburn, Lewis Hamilton, Bratz, Monster High, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively, Marilyn Monroe, Salma Hayek, Grace Kelly, Anne Hathaway
The love for VFX make up started when Skeet was telling her BTS facts about Scream, and it considelating during season two of Riverdale while helping with Cole Sprouse make up at the end of season two when he is beaten up by the Ghoulies
Besides the Southside Serpents leather jacket, she has a Vixens uniform (and all the variations), a Bulldogs football shirt, a Jughead beanie, a Pops uniform, Pussycats ears, a S shirt, letterman jacket, a Pretty Poisons jacket, and a 'Farm' shirt
Due to having family in NASCAR and with interest on racing, she learnt to drive at fourteen, and also knows how a motorcycle works
She (as almost everyone), had an 'all black clothes' phase, until she missed combining it with colorful clothes
Her favorite youtube horror cannels are dead meat and CZsWorld, and non-horror are uncarley, WatchMojo and Ms Mojo, Wait in the Wings, Spill Sesh, haylo hayley, Tea Spill
After meeting Jack, the song that she started to hear in her head was 'Enchanted'
Her first Ghostface mask was gifted by Wes Craven, after Skeet called him to tell him she watched the movies, the next week she recieved the mask with a handwritten letter
A F1 driver tried to hit on her two days after her 18 birthday, she left him on read (we all know who was at this point)
As almost every nepo baby, she got a bit of hate when she started to be a public figure, but ignored them, until they started to talk about her relationship with Jack and she couldn't ignore them
She knows all the Riverdale musical numbers and coreographies from season one to season five episode three
Since becoming best friends Y/N, Sarah and Abby anways practiced coreographies during sleepovers, the last time they presented them, where at the halloween party doing Sexy by Mean Girls Musical, Vigilante Shit by TS (chairs included) and Honey, Honey from Mamma Mia (ABBA)
Her favorite F1 teams are RB, Mercedes and Ferrari and drivers are Sergio 'Checo' Pérez, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Michael and Mick Schumacher, Max Verstappen, Dorianne Pin, Abbi Pulling, Pierre Gasly, Niki Lauda, Alex Albon, Yuki Tsonuda, Carlos Sainz Jr, Charles Leclerc, and queen Susie Wolff, and has extreme admiration for Romain Grosjean for getting out of the car on fire
Her phone case is the Casetify snake one, she just changes it depending on the model of phone she uses

Round 2 poll 13: Alyss Mainwaring from Ranger's Apprentice vs Sophie Hatter from Howl's Moving Castle
Propaganda under the cut:
Alyss Mainwaring:
Graceful, intelligent and has a razor sharp wit. An orphan who's raised in the castle ward and works to become the apprentice and protege of one of the best couriers in the country. Also Alyss being super tall with a deep voice but proud of these things and canonically stunning not despite but often because of these things healed my little 10 year old heart
Sophie Hatter:
i think tumblr already knows and loves sophie hatter
Sophie Hatter is absolutely iconic. She’s quiet and soft-spoken, but the moment she becomes and old lady she’s like, might as well fit the role, and instantly starts speaking her mind. She breaks into a wizard’s castle to become his cleaning lady, she pretends to be his mother, she expresses her feelings with weed killer. She can talk magic into things and doesn’t realize Howl is completely head over heels in love with her until he risks his life for her and they proceed to confess to each other by bickering like an old married couple. She’s also the epitome of an eldest sister and I based my entire personality off of her.

I'm kind of excited for the kickstarter, and i'm sharing my prediction for the 10 couples.
Thomas & Alastair (pretty sure)
Ari & Anna (I don't like the couple but I'm 5O% sure)
Cordelia & James (pretty sure)
Julian & Emma
Clary & Jace
Magnus & Alec
Kieran, Mark & Cristina ( this one is pretty much confirmed)
Isabelle & Simon (I'm 100% sure about this one, because I think she's going to kill them in TWP)
Diana & Gwyn
Will & Tessa (this is mostly me manifesting, but it's probably going to be Helene and Aline)
as for the couples I don't think will have stories (because sadly we can't have everything in life)
Gabriel and Cecy
Sophie & Gideon
Charlotte & Henry
Jesse & Lucie (this one i'm gonna be sad)
Jem & Tessa (because we are going to see them as a couple in TWP)
Matthew + love interest (this is going to be in his novella/story)
Eugenia + love interest
Grace (I mean the potential love interest is in the grave)
Kit & Ty (still not a couple)
Do you have any predictions?
My bet:
Kieran/Mark/Cristina(almost certain because she said "or throuples")
Thomas/Alastair (I agree, a good bet - but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I'd die of joy if they appear, though, and this is the main thing I want from the set.)
James/Cordelia (she's been talking about the story of their second runes forever, so it'll be there)
Emma/Julian
Jem/Tessa (I'm sorry, I do not believe in her ability to write anything without worshipping Jem)
Clary/Jace
Magnus/Alec (I'm lowkey really hoping for them. Even if they already have a lot of content. They're iconic okay.)
Simon/Isabelle (I'm hoping for them because I think their fans deserve it. Also, KILL THEM OFF? WHY? PLEASE NO??? DO SHARE MORE ABOUT WHY YOU THINK THIS???)
Helen/Aline (I just have a good feeling about them idk why)
Matthew/his new love interest. (This is mainly manifestation. I know it's going to be the longer novella as well, but I think we need more of him than we're going to get in 150 pages if we want to properly develop his love story. And I need him, soooo)
Things we disagree on:
Will/Tessa (I cannot fathom a world where she ever writes Wessa again unless they just spend the entire time either talking about Jem or worshipping at his altar. I've learned never to hope regarding them.)
Gwyn/Diana (I would die for this story though I would absolutely adore them. I just feel like they are Adult Characters she has disregarded. But I'd LOVE a story with them.)
Ari/Anna (I think Cassie knows no one really likes them and probably won't waste her time with them.)
Things we agree on:
None of the TID ships besides (Wessa for you, Jessa for me) getting stories (Sad, because I really really really want Sophideon)
None of the TWP ships getting stories because a) their stories are yet to be told in TWP, and b) none of the ships are talking to each other rn (Kit/Ty, Dru/Ash)
Lucie and Jesse not getting a story
Eugenia and Grace sadly not getting stories :(
Things I personally deeply want:
Thomas/Alastair
Matthew/Love Interest
Will/Tessa
Diana/Gwyn
Literally anything with Grace
Sophie/Gideon
Ragnor/Catarina (Impossible Difficulty but sorry I ship them)
Magnus/Alec
Simon/Isabelle

Was trying to think more about combining CU with Haunted Mansion and the big issue is who the ghosts would be. This is what I could come up with so far, but I’m open to suggestions.
-Ghost Host/ Creeply Rattlechains (remember that guy from the Halloween episode? He’s perfect for this and deserves more love.)
-Graveyard caretaker/ Jerry (Not a ghost, but the role seems to suit Jerry).
-The Mariner/ Cash Networth (I don’t recall seeing this ghost, but I think was more well known back in the day? It seems to fit Cash due to the boat connection)
-The Hitchhiking ghosts/ Meaner, Rected, Poopypants (This was a bit tricky to think of to be honest. I’m trying to think of physical match ups as well as who would be interesting to try to hitch a ride with someone)
-Madame Leota/….. ok this is a tough one given she’s the most iconic character. She’s either the big good or an antagonist depending on the material. Should I have someone good like Moxie or Dressy’s mom (who looks like she’d be the part?) Grace Wain who is NOT Erica in this case?
-Constance Hatchway/Ribble (there’s been a few brides, and I figure I’d have the evil bride be Ribble given how murderous she was on her own wedding).
-The duelists/Ree and Lavator (Backstory-Ree agreed to what he thought was going to be a duel with fake weapons. Lavator grabbed the wrong set. Ree’s not too happy about this. Also I can’t find any caretaker/butler ghosts for Ree)
-The organist/Hurd (I can’t think of a whole lot of other musical characters for this one.)
-The woman transforming into a cat/Yewh (something about it makes sense)
Now I am not sure what to do with the kids, but some seemed to work for the Stretching room. Particularly:
Tightrope Girl/Dressy (There’s a crocobat at the bottom instead of an alligator).
The three guys in the quicksand/Jessica, Sophie one, other Sophie (Take a guess who is stuck at the very bottom).
I’m not sure about the other two paintings, given the nature of the old woman painting and the dynamite guy painting (I was thinking of having Gooch be the dynamite guy because of his bad luck… but considering how dynamite guy is dressed, I feel like it’s almost a no brainer who the OTHER option could be).
And of course, the ones I already did:
-The hatbox ghost/Krupp (I did this because of the movie and finding out what the hatbox ghost’s last name was, plus the idea was amusing. Also according to HM lore, the hatbox ghost was supposed to be the beating heart bride’s groom so that is incorporated here. His death… well, a weight was certainly lifted off his shoulders).
-The beating heart bride/Melanie Ravenswood/ Edith (I initally had Edith be Melanie given that she was the nicer counterpart to our American brides, but then I found out about the Beating Heart Bride and her being the fiancee to the Hatbox Ghost and suddenly everything just worked out perfectly for me).
#if ANYONE has better suggestions i will gladly hear it#if anyone wants to use their ocs I also welcome them#captain underpants#the haunted mansion

@deep-space-titst agged me to share 5 songs I've been listening to of late and I can never say no to an opportunity to plug my favorite artists. So heeeeerrrrrreeeee we go.
First up is one of my favorite genres of song writing. Let's call the genre Fuck the Police.
I love SAULT, they have such a unique sound blending funk, jazz, soul, punk, and hip hop. They’re an incredibly tight band and the lyrics are always brilliant. ACAB!!!!!
Next up is song from one of my favorite artists, Mykki Blanco, fresh off their latest album.
I've have been listening to Mykki for a long time now and it's been so cool seeing their music and persona evolve over the years. I've always loved her music but I'm absolutely in love with this current era of Mykki Blanco. Can't wait to see what he does next.
My third song is an oldie but goodie.
This is my current go to track for one of my all time favorite activities: Smoking a fat joint and going for a walkabout in the city while listening to music. 'Nuff said.
At number four we've got one the the latest singles from one of my all time favorite punk bands, HIRS COLLECTIVE.
If you're trans and love punk music you've almost certainly listened to G/L/O/S/S (if you haven't heard of them Slap yourself in the face rn and go listen to 'em). G/L/O/S/S disbanded but HIRS Collective is their spiritual successor; in fact Sadie Switchblade herself has collaborated with HIRS more than a few times. This single is from their upcoming album and I can not fucking wait for the whole album to drop. Every song they've realeased so far has been an absolute banger (I especially love XOXOXOXOXOX featuring one of my other favorite bands, MELT BANANA). They collaborate with a lots of other queer and trans artists including Laura Jane Grace and the collaborations are always super interesting. It goes without saying that trans folks don't have it easy, the world is rather unkind to us; whenever I'm at the end of my rope with the transphobia I have to deal with or when my heart breaks at seeing other trans folks, especially those I know and love, suffering I turn to to HIRS COLLECTIVE because sometimes you need the catharsis of a primal scream set to some blast beats so fierce and heavy they'll blow your tits clean off.
And last but certainly not least is a track from an artist very near and dear to my heart, who has not received the accolades she deserves. I'm kinda always listening to Jordana (FKA 187) and it's hard to choose just one song of hers.
Jordana LeSense is, imho, the greatest drum and bass artist of all time and most people have never heard of her. I believe her immense talent has been overlooked because she's a trans woman. She walked so Juliana Huxtable, SOPHIE, Eris Drew, Octa Octa, Jessica Jess, and Tami T (It's my duty to sneak in some plugs for more trans artists) could run. Jordana use to go by the moniker 187, a name she earned for blowing out her friend's speaker making her hard and heavy beats. Jordana is a true trans legend and a personal hero of mine. Her music definitely speaks to the trans experience. When she was only 13 she began her medical transition in total secrecy, an experience that I am certain informed the song Deep Stealth. She announced her tranistion in 1998, around the time she released her second Album, Quality Rolls. With the release of that album she was set to become an icon of the drum and bass scene. Tragically, while on tour in Ohio in 2000, she was victim of a violent hate crime at the hands of two men, who were never convicted because The Pigs never charged them, and she suffered a traumatic brain injury that caused nerve damage to her face. She stopped making music for a very long time after that.
BUT she's back! No longer going by the 187 moniker Jordana is back and making music. Please go check out her bandcamp, show her some love and buy some music.
Here's her soundcloud
Jordana hasn't released any new albums recently, that I know of anyway, but she still does live performances and if you follow her on IG or twitter she lists her performance dates there and you might be able to catch her!
My greatest wish is for people, trans folks especially, to rediscover Jordana’s music and lavish her with the attention she deserves.
OK I tag my wife @bandyriddles, @dissonant-skies, @basicallymsfrizzle, @zephy-n-ky, and @rynejoslyn

Behind every great Fashionista or Fashionable Man is a stylist, whose creative eye uses the artist as a canvas to execute their chic vision. In 2024, stylists have continued to flourish in their positions, with some creating movements of their own, garnering a following as icons and muses themselves. Vote above and read about some our faves below: Law Roach 2024 has been the year of Law, from the show stopping red carpet ensembles he curated for his core clients Zendaya, Celine Dion, Naomi Campbell, and Mona Patel, to the debut of his book, How to Build a Fashion Icon. The Chicago native has not only created fashion icons with his well heeled clientele, but he has become an icon himself, drawing crowds of hundreds at his myriad book events, gracing the covers of magazines, and even being parodied on Saturday Night Live. While stylists traditionally stay in the background, Law has stepped firmly to the front, walking side by side with his stars so they both shine. Wayman & Micah Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald delivered stand out, stunning looks in 2024, including Colman Domingo’s Valentino couture at the Critics’ Choice Awards and Danielle Deadwyler’s metallic Schiaparelli gown at The Piano Lesson premiere. They have single-handedly created new conversations around menswear with their visionary work with Colman Domingo, who was named one of the co-chairs for the forthcoming Black Dandy inspired Met Gala 2025; they’re also helping to carve a lane for couture for curvy women with their artistry with Davine Joy Randolph, who has stunned in custom Louis Vuitton, Sophie Couture, and Christian Siriano. But it doesn’t end there. From Taraji P. In 2024, stylists have continued to flourish in their positions, with some creating movements of their own, garnering a following as icons and muses themselves.
