Funny, Anon!!!!!! ~~~~~ I don’t really have defined opinions on the series that come after the first four, with the exception of Appmon and Ghost Game. So, sorry if I will skip those other three!

Adventure 01

• Mimi: My princess💕. Along with Katara from ATLA, she’s my own definition of what a girl character should be written like, but I don’t think you want to read long explanations😂.

• Michi: Mimi was a second mc by Taichi’s side. I feel like she had a mirror role in comparison with Taichi’s, as if she’s some sort of girl icon for the franchise. I don’t know how to explain it, but she has got so much presence in the anime, in the merch, in posters; she is voiced by AIM which allowed her to have her own ending, and somehow it feels like this fact makes her omnipresent in the history of the Digimon anime. Wishful thinking, but I like them together because of so many other reasons. THEY JUST CLICK SO WELL.

-Adventure 02

•Miyako: I know I know, she’s not that jewel of character when it comes to her writing, bur her concept has always intrigued me even when I didn’t know Digimon that well. She’s funny, clever, she’s connected with Mimi, she’s also got such a cute design ngl. Can I say she’s my favourite because of these shallow reasons? I think I will find many others when I rewatch 02.

• Daiyako: MY GUILTY PLEASURE. They’re so precious in each other’s regards, always being in the middle of teasing sessions but eventually showing to care about each other so much ? They can work platonically too, and I love pairings that are amazing both platonically and romantically.

-Tamers

KINDA HARD, I will admit it. I like the characters from Tamers but I don’t feel that connected to them. I used to have a huge adoration for Jenrya but it faded somehow. I like Ruki and Hirokazu but not that excessively. I relate to Juri sometimes but she has got so many moments that make me cringe out. It’s … A complex relationship…

• Takato: Again, I’m not THAT attached to him but he is a huge cinnamoroll and a great new beginning for the franchise. I like he’s so ordinary and creative, because…I can relate🤣. And I admit people often call me a girl Takato, sooooo🤣. Like you can see, I don’t have anything to say ahahahha.

• Rukato: MY BBIES, my bbies who are so pleasant at the sight too, thanks to their matching palettes. I confess I come from being a huge Jenruki shipper. Then, I’ve grown bored of those two and I’ve started getting so attracted by Ryouki and Rukato, but the latter eventually won especially because of Runaway Locomon. How could I keep myself from shipping those two after that film? I know there’s Jurato, but the future dramas made me dislike the way things develop…

• Eri: I like how she finally brought back a kind of digigirl who could be considered a real character with an interesting story, a nice and quirky personality, meaningful relationships. I had got tired of so many sexualized and pretty uninspiring digigirls (starting from Frontier era SIGH).

Eeeeh I don’t know. I liked Eri and Torajirou but I’ve discovered he’s 11 and she’s 14, so ehmmmmm. Even if the anime pushed it a bit, maybe it’s not the case to ship them ahaha.

I’ll go with • Haru x Yuujin because they are a parallel Jurato✨.

-Ghost Game

• Emma: I KNOW SHE IS NOT PART OF THE TRIO AND SHE APPEARED FOR LESS THAN AN EPISODE, but she ensnared me and makes me salty whenever I see her, because she would have been a perfect four member. Leave me alone, I need to cry and mope.

• Ruri x Kiyoshiro: The total flop this shipping was because in GG the kids had 0 interesting interactions and I want to cry again, because why is that anime so unfair. Still, I ship them, I don’t care. Ruri had her small teasing moments with Kiyoshiro and their personalities CLASH. Idk Ruri would take him to the worst night trips in forests, parks and he would tag along because Jellymon’s and Ruri’s personalities are so perfectly aligned!

Chapter 6: Introduction To Balder

Chapter 6: Meeting The Human And The Gods ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Author's Note: I apologize for letting you all down by being SOOOOO late with Chapter 6 of this story. To be completely honest, I kinda gave up on this story for a brief while but I somehow found the courage and passion to continue this story again. I plan to edit a lot of it sometime.

( Another Author's Note: I don't own any of the characters from the series Kamigami No Asobi, nor do I own the actual franchise. I wish I did though. ) I really hope you enjoy the next two chapters coming up. Other than this note, please enjoy this and I hope you all forgive me for the lateness. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 6: Meeting The Human And The Gods Your POV: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was rushed back to my room by Melissa so I could the flowers I had collected from the academy's garden and placed them into a big vase. I took the vase with the flowers in it and placed it under the sink's faucet while turning it on. It was getting colder from the water rising up and I took the vase out and placed it on the window's edge so it could some sun.

" So Melissa? " I asked.

" Yes ( Y/N____ )? " Melissa asked me.

" Earlier I was asking you a question in the hallway. " I said as I sat down on my brand new bed.

" Oh right, you were asking me what all of the Gods were like and how many of them there were. Minus you of course. " Melissa said as he sat down next to me with his cheerful self.

" Oh thank you ( Y/N___ ) but I'm not a God. " Melissa said as he pointed it out.

" But Melissa, you were created by The Great God Of Lightening Zeus and I'm glad you were created and you are kinda like a God to me. " I said to Melissa.

" Oh thank you ( Y/N___ ), that's nice of you to say. " Melissa thanked me.

" You're welcome, so what are they all like and how many of them there are? " I asked with curiosity gleaming in my eyes. " Well there are about Twelve Gods here at The Academy, including myself and Zeus. There are Five Gods including myself and Zeus who originate from Greek Mythology. There are Three Gods who originate from Japanese Mythology. There are Three Gods who originate from Norse Mythology. There are Two Gods who originate from Egyptian Mythology and finally the other human we picked up is original from Japan. " Melissa explained to me.

" Oh how exciting, Twelve Gods and another human in the same academy with me. So what are they like Melissa? " I asked.

" Well, I heard that you love Mythology a whole lot so you study everything about it. So maybe if I mention to you the names of the Gods then maybe you'll get some idea of what they're like. " Melissa said.

" Oh okay, let's start with The Greek Gods first. " I replied.

" Okay well there's Me, Zeus, Apollon Agana Belea, Hades Aidoneus and Dionysus Thyrsus. " Melissa listed of The Greek Gods and all the names sounded familiar to me.

" So Apollon Agana Belea....in the books he is referred to as Apollo but if that's what his actual name is then it's one letter off. He would be the God of Music and Sun. Hades Aidoneus is obviously the God of The Underworld and is one of the three original brothers of Zeus. Dionysus is the God of Wine and Fertility so he must enjoy wine a whole lot or else he wouldn't be the God of it. " I said while thinking to myself to see if I could match up their names up with what they rule over.

" Good work ( Y/N___ ), now the Japanese Gods. There is Akira Totsuka, Takeru Totsuka and Tsukito Totsuka. " Melissa listed off some Japanese names and I thought to myself again.

" Oh Japanese, I'm not too familiar with them as much as the other Mythological Gods but I do like them. Let's see.....Akira Totsuka would maybe the Japanese God Of The Sun, Takeru Totsuka would be the Japanese God Of The Sea and Tsukito Totsuka would be.....the Japanese God Of The Moon? " I asked Melissa.

" Correct! Good Job once again! Now how about the Norns? " Melissa nudged towards me while asking.

" I'm really familiar with them, just like the Greeks. What are their names? " I asked.

" Balder Hringhorni, Loki Laevetain and Thor Megingyoruzu. " Melissa listed off.

" Balder Hringhorni is the Norse God Of Light, Loki Laevetain is the Norse God Of Fire and Mischief and finally Thor is the Norse God of Thunder. " I said with a smile.

" Amazing job! I'm impressed that you are so very knowledgeable about us. Plus you've already met Anubis and Thoth so I can assume that you know who they are too. " Melissa said.

" Of course, Anubis Ma'at is the Egyptian God Of The Dead and Thoth Cadeceus is the Egyptian God Of Knowledge. " I said.

" Right! So that's everyone, oh except that Yui Kutanagi is a very kind human so she will help you around if ever need it. " Melissa said.

" Oh thank you Melissa. So I wonder what's going to happen when I meet them all? " I asked myself.

" Well, we're going to find out but first how about we get you a uniform for your classes first? " Melissa pointed out to me.

" Oh that's right, I can't show up like this. So where is the school store? " I asked Melissa.

" Come with me and I'll show you. " Melissa hopped down from the bed and ushered me to come with him out of the room. I walked over to the door and opened it. Melissa and I walked out of the dorm room to go to the school store. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone's POV: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " I saw her go in there! " Apollon said.

" This dorm room must be her new room here at the academy. " Balder pointed out.

" Well, we will see if it is. " Yui said as she knocked on the door but there was no reply on the other end.

" Oh, it looks like no one is there. We may have just missed her.... " Apollon said disappointingly.

" Well, she must be somewhere in this academy so how about we split up and look for her. You guys look over in the east wing, you guys look in the west wing and we'll look in the library. " Yui said.

" Ok! Let's go! " Balder said.

" I said to the cashier and took my new uniform in my hands and held it to my chest.

" Okay, you are all set! " Melissa said as he walked with me.

" Good, hey Melissa? " I asked.

" Yes ( Y/N___ )? " Melissa replied.

" Is it alright if I could explore the academy and the grounds outside of the academy? " I asked shyly.

" Of course, do you want me to join you so you don't get lost? " Melissa asked me.

" Of course, only if you can take it. " I replied.

" Oh don't worry about me, I can take it. " Melissa said while holding up his arm as if to show me that he had muscles.

" Okay good. " I chuckled. Melissa and I walked out of the school store and into the hallways of the academy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- East Wing Of The Academy: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- " So English and History classes are over on this side and the Library is at the end of this hall. The Gardening Club is just outside of these classes on the outside and so is the Tennis Club. " Melissa showed me.

" Oh cool, it may take me some time to find my way around these halls because the academy is so big. " I said.

" Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it. " Melissa reassured me.

" Well thank you- " I was suddenly crashing into another person who I didn't see in front of me. I looked up to see a really handsome young man in front of me. I blushed slightly.

" Oh I'm so sorry about that, are you okay? " The handsome Blonde Long-Haired young man knelt down to my level to see if I was injured.

" Y-Yeah, it was more my fault anyways. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. " I replied as I got up from the ground and dusted off my dress.

" Oh no, it was my fault Miss? " The Blonde long haired man asked me my name.

" ( Y/F/N_____ ) ( Y/L/N____ ), I'm new here and I was just exploring the grounds. Melissa was showing me around. " I said while straightening out my clothes.

" Oh that's good, wait a minute....are you the new human girl? " The man asked me.

" Yes I am and who are you? " I asked him.

" I am Balder. " He said while smiling.

" Balder. Balder Hringhorni? The Norse God Of Light? " I smiled while asking.

" You know me? We've never met before though. " Balder said.

" No we haven't met before and I haven't met anybody else here either except Zeus, Anubis, Thoth and Melissa. However, I have studied your kind very well so I have some good knowledge on you guys. " I said while picking up my uniform that I had dropped on the floor.

" Oh? How ironic, you've studied us really well and we've been brought here to study humans. " Balder chuckled at me.

" It is ironic but I suppose it's for the greater good. I've been really anxious to meet all of you. " I said with a smile.

" That's good, everyone's been anxious to meet you too. " Balder smiled at me back.

" Well I'm really excited to meet all of-.....what? " I asked.

" Oh sorry it's just, you're more beautiful then I was expecting. " Balder said.

" O-Oh....thank you Balder. I thought you were really beautiful too, well handsome. " I blushed softly.

" Oh thank you as well. " Balder smiled at me and I blushed a little harder.

" Well, can I meet the others? " I asked Balder, changing the subject.

  • Will only write MxM or FxF ; MxF’s not my cup of tea (I’m extremely picky with it, fellow gays u know how it is). If we’re writing a cast of characters then I’m fine with having an MxF side couple.

  • 18 + ; I’m pretty much 22! Partner’s gotta be 18 +. 20 + ideally. Same with characters, extra bonus points for characters who are 30+. Romance doesn’t die once you hit middle age!

  • Smut ;  I enjoy writing it, but it’s not a deal-breaker if you’d rather fade to black.  All characters will obviously be adults. I expect versatile characters in bed by default, that way we’ve got an even route for playing roles in bed. Admittedly this shifts a bit depending on the character I write, but a HUGE no on anyone who comes in guns blazing off the bat with how they only write bottoms.

  • Face claims ; Spent a huge chunk of my roleplaying years on tumblr (it was very over-the-top and flowery and weirdly formatted and grossly difficult to read, I know I know), so having a face for characters stuck with me. If you don’t have any of your own and want good resources to find a face, I’ve got some recommended sites I can throw at ya! Had a previous partner who had a character sheet format that I use now that’s simple but looks nice! Nyx if you’re out there don’t come for me for copping your format.

  • Depth & growth ; Not a fan of one-dimensional characters or characters who act the same from beginning to end! People change with experiences and the people around them, so this is to be expected. ESPECIALLY when doubling with a cast. I loooove complicated characters growing together.

  • Plotting & Worldbuilding ;  *For original settings/worlds! I’m not picky with this if we’re working with a canon setting, so if that’s what you’re looking for, we can skip this section. I run into loooads of folks who say they do this when they really don’t. We’re writing an entire world together, so there’s some degree of effort involved! I need specifics to use as a start-off point for the roleplay and a general outline for where the story’s going. RPs that are just random, spur of the moment with writing as we go on tend to burn out REALLY quickly for me. I know not a lot of people are into this, so I’m sorry about that.

  ⥽ No! ; ⥼

  • Underage characters ; Total given that there will be NO sexual themes with underage characters, but in general as well! I only write adults.  20 +.

  • Single paragraphs ; I’m not too picky with a lot of length a lot of the time, I just don’t mesh well with people who don’t write more than that. Go ham. I like my responses meaty!

  • Limits ; Abuse, nonconsensual/sexual assault, pedophilia, incest (includes step-relations, adopted relations, and that figurative like if one character essentially raised another or they were raised as family), weird age gaps, BDSM, any kind of master/slave or dom/sub dynamics.

  As for the goods, I’ve laid ‘em all out for you here! Keep in mind that while all of these are fun on their own, I’m definitely the type of writer who’s into mixing and matching. Sci-fi apocalypse? Fantasy apocalypse? Fantasy supernatural stuff? Sci-fi fantasy? Sci-fi supernatural stuff? Supernatural apocalypse? Period settings? Literally whatever you could think of, I’ll give it a whirl. The particulars down below are just to get the ball rolling and catch some interest. Hit me up with whatever you’d like!

  APOCALYPSE: My bread and butter! Tense, harrowing, and especially gut-punching when it comes to how close people become to survive together in quiet moments of a world they used to know. I’m a big fan of zombies, so that’s my loose preference. I loved Black Summer on Netflix – the earlier episodes, at least, as well as The Last of Us. That’s the kind of vibe I favor with zombies/zombie-like creatures. But, ofc, an apocalypse can be anything! I love writing different takes on the genre since there’s so much to cover. Extinction event, pandemic, impact event, monsters/beasts, man-made, whatever. The more creative the apocalyptic setting, the better, so I’d love to bounce some ideas back and forth. Not too into a nuclear apocalypse setting, since that overlaps a lot with Fallout down below.

  SCI-FI: Sci-fi’s a bit tricky since it encompasses so many different takes, so I’m clearing the air to say anything’s good. Futuristic, space travel, time travel, space opera, AI, apocalyptic, cyberpunk – if it works in sci-fi, it works for me.

  FANTASY: High fantasy, low fantasy, medieval fantasy, urban fantasy, whatever. Love dragons, love magic, love weird fantasy flora, definitely love the classic prince/princess x knight or commoner schtick. You want prophecies? I’m game. You want elves? I’m game. You want steampunk? I’m game. You want none of that and wanna do something else? I’m game, baby. The possibilities are endless.

  SUPERNATURAL/PARANORMAL: Vampires and werewolves and demons, oh my! Can’t go wrong with horror, especially can’t go wrong with comedy-horror. I’m more of the type to prefer humans and supernatural beings together in a ragtag duo type of way as opposed to two supernatural beings, but anything’s cool in my book. Medieval/fantasy setting for a dark fairytale vibe, urban/modern supernatural beings slinking in the shadows outside of the human eye, supernatural sci-fi stuff, mysteries and danger lurking around every corner? Seriously, it’s a great genre! Any and everything is fantastic. I’ve got a loose concept of demons/the Underworld I’d like to get into since I’m struggling with the worldbuilding of it, so applying all that to a roleplay to give it a whirl sounds like a great way to work out the kinks. Plus, c’mon. Paranormal romance. What’s not to love there?

  PERCY JACKSON: I haven’t ever roleplaying this verse before, so this is completely new grounds for me. I’ve seen some fun takes on it, though! Scoured older ads but haven’t reached out to anyone because the posting time’s pretty old, but a couple ideas I’ve skimmed through sound fun. HP got a period take on it, so why not put that spin on PJ with a period setting rather than in modern times? Or just a regular modern setting. Y’know, keep it classy, keep it sexy, keep it fun! I’m definitely focused on life outside of camp, since all the characters will be adults. Life’s supposed to suck for demigods, so let’s get into that.

  POKEMON: Leaning a little more on the Detective Pikachu take, since it was fun to see a less anime/game-esque take on the pokemon world. The almost neo-noir style was sooooo cool, so I’ve got my sights set on leaning maybe a little more into the noir sensibilities and themes as an homage to the blending of genres between Pokemon and noir.  So a lot of themes of alienation, mystery, ambiguity, things along those lines. Definitely a weird mix with Pokemon but I think it can be fun.

  FALLOUT: Gonna be real with you guys, I’m a total newbie to Fallout and have only played F3 because it was the only game I found in my family storage for Xbox 360 and I don’t have enough money to get a gaming PC/Laptop to play the other games. I’m watching playthroughs, though! Dipping my toes in the water, so to speak. I’m into it! It’s a fun franchise from what I’ve played and seen so far, so I’d love to write OCs in this verse.

Stray notes after watching The Last Jedi

Or: why does this movie just keep getting worse whenever I remember it?

The notes are after the cut just in case someone hasn’t seen the film yet or doesn’t want a long ass bullet point post in their dash. Some of them are serious and well thought-out, some are nitpicky and some are there just for the heck of it.

“Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.” - Why, that’s just peachy, Rian! Too bad the future your selling is a little shit.

In general, Rian Johnson doesn’t seem to have much respect for the past. See tathrin’s post about all the things established in TFA that were turned upside down in this film, but I think Johnson doesn’t have much consideration for the original trilogy either, reducing Chewbacca to a background character and trying to replace “May the Force be with you” with some other, less inspired line.

Seriously, why are they saying “Godspeed”? Did monotheism reach a galaxy far, far away and they now, suddenly, have a notion of God? And, while were at it, why is “treacherous snake” a thing, now? Are there snakes in the Star Was universe? ‘Cause, so far, all animals have been on the fantastic side of things. What else is there? Do they have kittens??? That’s an important question...

The movie had A LOT of hamfisted comic relief. Of course there were some honestly funny scenes (I will forever laugh at Rey feeling the Force with her hand), but most of the jokes felt very out of place. For instance, the first scene, with Hux and Poe. I laughed my ass off at that interaction, but that’s an SNL sketch, not a Star Wars scene. I was half expecting Matt, the radar technician, to show up.

Seriously, someone should tell Rian Johnson that he isn’t directing Guardians of the Galaxy. In more than one scene, the excess of jokes killed what should’ve a truly great, emotional moment.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much indifference do I feel towards porgs?

The ammount of queerbaiting that went into promoting this film was insane. Look, actors on franchises like this one have media training, so whenever, say, Oscar Isaac ran his mouth about the possibility of Finn/Poe being canon, he was at least authorized by Disney to do so (worst case scenario, he was instructed to sell this narrative). I didn’t particularly care about the ship and I think Poe Dameron could’ve died in TFA without any harm to the franchise, but to hamfist that non-sensical romance between Finn and Rose after feeding the fans’ hopes for a gay pairing was, in my opinion, downright cruel.

And don’t even get me started on Poe and Rey’s meaningful gaze at the end of the film, with Poe going all “I know” as if he’s Han Solo or some hot shit like that! Poe/Rey is the worst possible ship to become canon. Yes, the worst. Yes, you heard me, worse than Reylo.

Speaking of Reylo: after TFA, I said that I low-key shipped them ‘cause that’s the kind of fucked up ship I like. Look, there are people in this website who like to wear diapers and want to fuck Pennywise, so, screw you, I’m not apologizing for wanting to read fics about a fictional pairing made up of two adults. HOWEVER, this is not the sort of thing I want to be canon. From the get go, my opinion on Rey’s official love life has been “either she ends up with Finn or she ends up alone”. That being said, I think they handled the relationship between her and Kylo Ren very well in this film. I’m glad they didn’t deny the fucked up sexual tension that was going on there, especially coming from Ren’s side, and chose to play into it. A failed redemption arc fits them perfectly and Kylo Ren’s “please” when he asks Rey to rule beside him was a great moment for the character and one of the few truly emotional moments of the film.

But that thing were they get to hit on each other through the Force, sharing sad stories and touching hands? Yeah, I’m pretty certain I’ve read that fic. Actually, I’m pretty certain I’ve read about three fics like that.

Let’s keep on the Kylo Ren track for now, then: he did get some very nice character development in this film. The Last Jedi was more his than any other character’s, even Luke. For a minute there, before the movie came out, I thought they were going to make some changes to him due to the whole backlash, but they went full “overgrown angsty kid” with him in a way that actually made him more compelling. I like the way Luke’s fear ended up pushing a conflicted teenager into the Dark Side and that Kylo is still very much stuck at that moment. As usual with Sith and Sith by-products, Kylo Ren is moved by anger, and his anger feels much more real after this little bit of backstory.

Who is Snoke, though? Are they going to explain that in the next movie? It feels like they should’ve done it in this one, but I hope they at least give him some context before the trilogy is over.

Sooooo... Did your conflicted antagonist cladded in black, with black hair falling all over his face, just trick his bald, deformed Dark Lord by using his occlumency powers? *Owen Wilson voice* Wow.

“The Supreme Leader is dead. Long live the Supreme Leader.” - A perfect example of a really amazing moment botched by comic relief, ie, Snoke’s little tongue falling out of his dead body.

After the film ended, @robogigante​​ complained a lot about Hux’s transformation from an actual, threatening villan into a punchline, and, you know what? He’s right. There’s a scene there that looks like a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do I hate evil, square-headed BB-8?

I’m sort of glad Rey’s parents aren’t anyone important. Star Wars relies too much on heritage and it’s a nice change having a hero who isn’t Space Jesus or Space Jesus’ direct lineage. Her scene in the cave was incredibly beautiful.

They did point to something else in TFA, though, implying heavily that her origin was important and that Kylo Ren already knew about her. That was some Moffat level of badly written plot twist right there.

There’s something Emma Watson-y about Daisy Ridley. This is neither a compliment nor a complaint, just something I hadn’t noticed before.

Both Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver grew a lot as actors since the last movie, especially Driver. Even though it’s still hard to take Kylo Ren seriously sometimes due to Driver’s cry-baby face, he’s way more convincing in his rage and intensity than he was in TFA, where his acting felt a little too mechanical.

However, some of the other actors aren’t living up to their potential. John Boyega’s charisma is extremely underused and I know for a fact that Domnhall Gleeson can do a lot better than what he was given here. In a couple of scenes, even Hamill and Fisher seemed a little uncomfortable in their roles.

“Shit, we’ve already signed Lupita’s check! Gotta shove her in here, somewhere!” - I’m so sorry, honey. You are so beautiful and talented... You deserved way better than that.

Kelly Marie Tran is adorable and I absolutely love her in interviews and such. She seems like a delightful person. However, her character was completely unnecessary. Her only purpose was to serve as a future love interest to Finn, and I’ve made my thoughts about that pairing quite clear already.

“...it’s saving the ones we love...” - BITCH, YOU’VE KNOWN HIM FOR WHAT? A DAY?

As a matter of fact, all of that storyline felt completely unnecessary. It was as if the writers didn’t know what to do with Finn so they gave him a spunky sidekick and a pointless mission just to kill time. I found myself wishing he had spent the whole movie in a coma, and that’s really sad, because I really like John Boyega and was hoping he would become a strong protagonist for the franchise.

Another thing @robogigante​ pointed out (and I’m quoting him ‘cause I know he’s not making a post of his own) is that Holdo had no reason whatsoever to hide her plan from Poe or anyone else in the Resistance. She just... didn’t like Poe Dameron that much...

Excessive jokes aside, casino planet was okay and helped flesh out the Star Wars universe a little bit more. However, much like Phasma, Benicio Del Toro’s character (whose name I already forgot) was just another Boba Fett, all flash and no substance, and I particularly hate that “squeaky clean abused little children representing hope” crap. It’s one of the tackiest tropes in existence.

I did get the feeling that that kid is going to join the Resistance on the next movie. Like they’re going to do a ten year jump to justify Leia’s disappearance/death. It would also help the Rebels to get their shit back together, Kylo Ren to gain more control over the First Order and Rey to learn some more about the Force in order to meet her fate. The existence of that child is still horrible and that ending was so over the top I can’t even put it into words, but it’s a good hook for a leap that, if handled well, could be very good for the story.

I also got the feeling that they originally inteded to kill one member of the original trio per film. That would’ve been cool. Too bad Leia will have to die off screen.

Was it just me or is the timeline in this movie really weird? Poe’s plan seems to take place entirely in a day, maybe two, while Rey apparently spends at least a week in Luke’s island.

I’m glad Carrie Fisher got to have at least one badass Force user scene before dying. Her flight among the debris of the Rebel cruiser was a beautiful reminder of how powerful the Force can be, on par with Luke’s astral projection, not to mention a gorgeous scene in its own right.

Holdo and Leia definitely had a torrid love affair after the Organa-Solo divorce came through. No one will ever convince me otherwise.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do I love the crystal foxes?

There was a preoccupying absence of wipe transitions and epic soundtrack inserts. Actually, I don’t even remember hearing any music at all. The editing was way too conservative. It didn’t even feel like a Star Wars movie, sometimes.

How is it possible that The Force Awakens was basically a remake of A New Hope and still felt more daring that The Last Jedi? Look, we already know you’re not killing any of the characters ‘cause they have to come back for the next installment, but raise those stakes a little bit, jeez! Give Kylo Ren and Snoke more conflict before their face-off, give Rey an opportunity to actually scare Luke with something that matters, give Finn and Poe a mission that actually means something to the Resistance, not a MacGuffin to keep them busy... Anything!

The Last Jedi is actually an okay-ish movie, to be honest, but, in a way, I think I disliked it even more than the prequels. Sure, The Phantom Menace is objectively a much worse film, but at least it had soul. George Lucas’ midichlorian and CGI packed soul, but soul nonetheless. The Last Jedi has nothing. I know Star Wars movies are all about the money, let’s not delude ourselves that this is in anyway high art, but this one just felt like the biggest money grabber of all. There is no personal investment in it whatsoever and no sign of what makes Star Wars Star Wars in the first place.

I think it’s such a great way to approach character analysis because no one exists in a vaccum so seeing peoples interactions and what people like is so fun!!!! CHARACTER ANALYSIS! FUCK TALKING ABOUT INTERACTIONS OR ACTIONS ON THEIR OWN OR THOUGHTS OR HC’S, I STAND BY MY ONE TAAKO ‘vriska did nothing wrong’ QUOTE; Trying to understand what characters morals, and their opinions on certain things by analyzing their opinions and interactions in canon is 500x more productive seeming to me than other things. Like, say taako’s thoughts about vriska, V and Lucretia are p similar actions wise, and he was pissed at her but that was mostly cause of the personal connections, when it doesn’t affect him Taako doesn’t seem to have any moral objections to any of the icky moral stuff; think robot planet or whatevs where they were gonna genocide the place and lup was like no and that was like the only reason he didn’t I’m pretty sure, I’m not too big brained on taako or adventurezone either so don’t take my word; So I think that Taak’s would be chill with Vriska. Another thing? The Lucretia thing was like, giving up which Taako is not ok with and Vriska thigns were about not giving up so I do legit think he would be totally coool with her, even if she were real, unless obvs she hurt one of the seven bird red robe people and their new friends.

Ocarina of Time! The amount of time I spent running around not passing the game because I suck at them Hyrule fields, just exploring the areas when I was a kid!! I love the feel of the environment. I have to put Majora’s Mask and A Link to the Past on here too for the same reason. I love these games, I love their lore, I love their characters, and I love their art.

Least favorite game in the series

This is really hard because I love them all??? Take Skyward Sword for example. I LOVE THE STORY. I LOVE FI SO MUCH. IMPA SOOOOO MUCH. ZELDA!!! But the gameplay itself is long af and pretty boring. But I love it too much to rank it anywhere in “least favorite of the series”. I guess I’ll say A Link Between Worlds because I couldn’t really get into it.

When did you get into the series? How did you find out about it?

I think it was my stepdad who bought OOT and then gave me his copy of A Link to the Past when I was 10 or so. I think I may have had one of the other Zelda games for the Gameboy and since I didn’t understand how to play it (I couldn’t get far at all), I kind of just ignored my cartridge until OOT happened. I fell in love with the Kokiri forest right off the bat.

If you could develop the next Zelda game, what would it be like?

I’d go all out with the romance (LinkxZelda? GanonxZelda? ImpaxZelda? PayaxLink? LinkxMalon? AnjuxGanon? MiphaxLink? FixLink!!! GanonxImpa!!!) because we all know the series is lacking in it soooooo bad. I’d also give my favorites much bigger roles like Impa and Twinrova. And I’d answer the question of what happened to Navi. I’d give Fi a much more prominent role. Link would still be the main player, tho. But I’d made Zelda a playable option, too. I’d divide it in two arcs!!! One you can play as Link and one as Zelda and their interconnect. You’d have to pass both to unlock the last area of the game with the true ending.

What spin-off game would you like to see? (ex - Sports game, Party game, Racing game, etc.)

XD Well, I answered before that child me wanted to live in Clock Town from Majora’s Mask. And I’d say that still applies! But I would also love to live in Lon Lon Ranch (OOT version), it looks cozy. I’d be the new Happy Mask salesman. I always found those masks to be super neat. Alternatively I’ll settle for being the new Great Fairy so I can burst out of my fountains in my true naked glory every time the cute chosen hero needs to heal. 

We’ve sort of seen the beginnings of Hyrule - What do you think the endings would be?

Full on story about Mipha. Though I understand they’re going to expand and focus on the Champions in the coming DLCs so that’s something that’s already being done. I’m mega curious about Mipha, Daruk, and Urbossa. Maybe a DLC that tosses you to old places from the old games to do zany quests.

The settings and environments, the character/world design, the colors, THE ART, I’m just a huge sucker for eye candy. The bits and pieces of lore we’ve managed to make out and put together through the years. The theories. Unfortunately I’m really bad at playing the games myself, I get stuck so early and so easily. But I love these games so much, I could watch people play them all day every day. For me it’s like watching my favorite movie. I love experiencing it.

If you could only play one Legend of Zelda game for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

I guess it’d have to be Ocarina of Time since that one was my kick into the franchise and I make mention of it the most.

Review time: ARTFX J May and Mudkip!

As usual, there will be a lot of pictures! 

As I mentioned in my PPP Steven Stone review back in August, Pokemon has been a significant part of my life for a long time. In a way it's what got me into collecting in general--the "Gotta Catch 'em All!" slogan became sort of engrained in me from a young age, haha. Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire came out at a pretty formative time in my life and have remained my favorite entries in the franchise (I've written multiple essays about what the games and their remakes mean to me). These games have been a source of comfort and inspiration for me for well over a decade. So, I guess it was inevitable that I'd buy the figure of my top favorite protagonist! (Not gonna lie, may have teared up slightly when she was announced...)

Anyway, I'll stop waxing poetic and get to what you're here for, which is a figure review.

Here's a better front shot with a less busy background, haha. This is my first scale figure from Kotobukiya, so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality. Overall, she's very high quality, and came out resembling the prototype very closely.

Here she is from the side. Like many scales, she isn't very interesting from this angle. You can see the seams of her shorts in this shot. As a fan of drawing pant seams, this pleases me.

From behind her pose seems even more exaggerated, which I'm not sure I like, but I guess it couldn't be helped. Her layered tank tops are sculpted very well. I especially like her tiny ponytail >u<

From the other side. Again, not a lot to see from this angle.

Square with her torso, you get the impression that she's calling out to someone she's passing by. Interestingly, they sculpted her ribcage--that's not a detail I would have thought to add. It can look a little weird in some light.

From a low angle, it really looks like she's leaping into the air! "Full of courage, full of energy..." I'll have to try using this angle in my shoots sometime.

The top-down view is really fun too! Though she looks a little weird without teeth...

Close in on her face. Her teeth aren't as prominent on the final as they were in the prototype--or maybe it's just the angle? I also noticed a few spots where the paint bleeds a little, particularly on her bandana. It's not really noticeable from afar, though.

Another closeup. I love that the collar of her undershirt is layered over her red tank. (I am also very appreciative that her boobs are about the size they should be... sooooo many fanartists tend to give her a larger bust ><)

This shot also contains the one major defect I found on mine: there's a small dent on the left side of her ribcage, almost like it was bumped in production. I don't really care that much--I can easily photoshop it out--but I know other collectors would be writing Koto for a replacement over something like this, so I might as well include it in my review.

The dent is a bit more obvious in this shot, but I really wanted to get a closer look at her fanny pack's buckle. I like the shinier finish they went for with that. I'm a little sad that her bike shorts are so matte (I tend to draw her with shinier shorts) but I guess they do more closely resemble the real thing. The way her shirt flares out around her waist is also really nice.

The detail on the underside of her shoes is fantastic! I'd never noticed the pokeball design before.

A close-in look at her fanny pack and her butt, you pervs. I liked her original fanny pack from RSE better than the one in the remake, but this one is at least on-model. You can also see that there's a pretty ovbvious seam where red meets black on her tank top (or if not a seam, a line cut perhaps a little too deeply).

Again, really liking how they sculpted her ponytail. It's probably one of my favorite additions to the new May design.

Time to take a closer look at Mudkip! Overall, very well sculpted and painted. A very faithful recreation of my favorite starter Pokemon! (When it was revealed that May would come with Mudkip I was so happy...) The water splash makes good use of transparent plastic.

From the side. Surprisingly enough, it's anchored fairly sturdily by its tail.

Here you can see mudkip separated from its base. I was surprised that Mudkip didn't have any kind of pegs--not even anything to anchor it to the main base. On the plus side, you can position it wherever you want--or even display it separately. On the minus side... I've forgotten it isn't attached several times, then picked up May by her base. Mudkip came flying off >_<

Speaking of anchors, I found it curious that May came already attached to her base. I've had to attach all my previous scales to their bases, so I wondered what was different here...

It turns out she's anchored to her base not with a plastic peg, but a screw!! Very sturdy indeed. It looks like you would be able to detach her with a screwdriver if you wanted, but as I'm not one to tempt fate, I'll leave the exploring to someone else...

I had to put her next to Steven.... they were my first real otp, after all! It's a shame that Steven isn't 1/8 also; I would have loved to display them next to each other ;; Maybe one day we'll have a nice scale figure of Steven... ah, a girl can dream... nevermind that it's practically a miracle we have figures of these two at all...

Next to my other 1/8 scale figures, though, May is decidedly tiny. It makes me wonder if other female 1/8 scale figures are noticeably smaller than the guys... (or maybe all the scale dudes I have are based on super tall characters?)

They really look like they're from two different worlds, haha... and yet, they both have their own kind of presence.

I wanted to see how she'd look next to Kogitsunemaru (my tallest 1/8) and he practically dwarfs her. I find this kind of height difference adorable though... rip

Here's where I'm displaying her for now--a corner that is slowly filling up with more and more Pokemon figures -u- excellent. I'm absolutely thrilled that more trainers are getting the figure treatment, and I hope that more of my faves can join this corner soon ;u; I'll have to reorganize a bit though...

Pokemon Ruby was the first Pokemon game I got to play as a girl (I didn't play Crystal until later) and it was also the first Pokemon game I could truly call my own. It definitely changed the whole experience of playing Pokemon for me. Instead of having to play as a boy, I could finally play as a character that reflects how I feel. It felt like I was well and truly starting my own Pokemon journey. I poured a lot of myself into May over the years--countless pages of fanfiction and comics of varying quality--and she's come to be very important to me. So I'm just.... really, really glad to finally have her as a figure.

Anyway, enough of the mushy stuff.

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming Touko figure; she's my second favorite protagonist, and I hope they do as good a job with her as they did with May. Please make a Dawn too, Koto.....

Persona 5 - A Review

I should probably preface this by saying that the screenshots I’m using for this review are not my own, since Atlus has extremely strict policies about sharing footage of this game; PS4 Share features are completely unusable. The ones I do have, I got off of Google.

I should also probably mention that this is my first Persona game; I never played the previous titles, so I’m not biased towards the franchise in any way and I had no idea what to expect going into it. 

I was originally pretty iffy about getting this game, despite my love for JRPGs. I think I was a little worried about the micromanaging aspects and the deadline system. After Lightning Returns, I sorta avoided games with deadlines and limited time since I didn’t want to deal with the anxiety that comes with it. I like playing games at my own pace, and I also like to completely see EVERYTHING a game has to offer, and games with a limited time system obviously means you’ll have to miss out on certain things unless you follow a strict point-by-point guide that somehow lets you do all the things. From what I saw of this game, it seemed like it would be stressful having to manage social stats, relationships with people, a school life, etc, all while being a magical thief that literally steals hearts. 

So yeah, this game was definitely an impulse buy for me and, truth be told, I don’t regret it for a second. I got totally taken for a ride.

The first thing you should know if you plan on playing this game is that you need to have a lot of free time on your hands. This game is such a time sink that I basically lost track of the days. Once you’re in, you are IN. You immediately become attached to these characters and basically live out your life as this unnamed protagonist, raising various social stats such as knowledge and charm to name a few, maintaining strong bonds with the people around you, tackling high school life including getting pop quizzes and doing exams. It can be pretty overwhelming the first time around, at least probably if you’re a newcomer to the franchise like me. I even got a game over very early in the game cause I procrastinated too much and was met with the deadline. I overestimated how much time I actually had to do the stuff I wanted to. It takes a while to get into the groove of this game, but once you know where everything is, you start planning what you want to do, which skills you wanna develop and people you want to spend time with. It can be a lot to deal with, but it does feel rewarding when you max things out and learn to become more efficient.

The story, for a JRPG, is pretty impressive. You play a regular young Joe Shmoe who got unfairly tried for standing up to a shady powerful man and is now labeled a delinquent. He gets sent under the care of a cafe owner for probation and becomes a student in Shujin Academy where he ends up stumbling upon some weird shit, forms friendships with various other young misfits and they form the Phantom Thieves, a group of kids who seek to change the hearts of criminals and horrible adults so they’ll grow a conscience, own up to their horribleness and redeem themselves. That’s all I want to say about the story since I don’t want Atlus to sue me for posting spoilers. But like I said, I was extremely impressed by the story in this game, especially being a JRPG. I say that because, let’s be honest, JRPG stories are normally very predictable and endlessly cheesy. Of course, this game has those moments where it’s so clear how Japanese and Anime the game is from how the characters speak and whatnot, but there were a lot of points in the story where I genuinely had no idea what to expect and certain plot twists I didn’t see coming. 

Not to mention pretty much all the characters were very interesting and likable that it’s so easy to form attachments to each of them. Well, except for the protagonist, of course. I’m not sure what it is with JRPGs but it’s very often in games like this where the protagonist is completely mute and not even the slightest bit interesting. Maybe it’s so that it makes it easy for you to put yourself in their shoes, but I was never a fan of that. I prefer protagonists that have their own voice and distinct personality, so I personally wouldn’t mind if more Japanese games started taking a page from Western games when it comes to this kind of stuff rather than just have milquetoast, blank protagonists. That’s one gripe I have in regards to the story elements. Another big one is how empty and meaningless a lot of the dialogue choices really are. Oftentimes you’d see two or three options that basically consist of different versions of saying the same thing. And as far as I can tell, the options don’t really have any lasting effects either. If you’re a dick to somebody, they won’t remember you were a dick. A lot of the options also give you the illusion of choice; the game makes you think that there’s a decision to be made when really there’s only one outcome anyway. These things are basically my biggest problems with the game; it lacked weight when it came to the protagonist and the dialogue system. (Oh yeah, you also can’t be gay, which I was a little salty about but eh, I guess I’ll let it slide. It probably would’ve been too much to expect anyways.)

But enough of that, let’s get to the good part; the combat system. You have no idea how much I adore turn-based combat in JRPGs. I haven’t had this much fun with a JRPG since World of Final Fantasy and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, which are pretty similar to Persona 5 now that I think about it. I loved the hell out of the combat in this game and also the Persona collecting and creating. It did a great job of teaching you how everything worked and letting you differentiate between the skill types, Persona types, etc. Unlike the real-world aspects of the game that overwhelmed me, I was able to digest the combat system pretty quickly. Fusing Personas to create new, more powerful ones is also a lot of fun, I find. I could spend an hour or two just in the Velvet Room alone fusing and strengthening Personas, filling up the Persona Compendium (gotta catch ‘em all, after all). So yeah, honestly I don’t think I have anything bad to say about the combat system. It’s extremely enjoyable and easy to get used to. 

By the way, I have to say that this game is one of the most visually intriguing games I’ve ever played. Stylish is honestly the perfect word to describe it as a whole. Everything is constantly moving and the transitions between battles especially are just cool as fuck. The dungeon designs and especially the Persona designs are something to behold. It all just looks sooooo damn good. I’m always so excited when making new Personas cause I can’t wait to see what they look like. I also get very excited whenever it’s time to go to a new dungeon--or Palaces, as they’re called in-game. Each one has its own unique setting and theme depending on the person in charge of it. It was all just so.... cool. I know I sound lame right now, but I swear to god I don’t know what else to say about it, I was just so thoroughly impressed by this game’s style and aesthetic.

Oh yeah, and I rarely talk about the music in games, but the soundtrack meshes perfectly with the overall look and feel of the game. I found myself humming and singing along to the songs after a while, and they got stuck in my head afterward. As far as the English voice acting goes, I also liked it for the most part. Of course there are some cringey parts, that comes with the territory, but overall I think the VAs did really well. I think I recognized a couple of their voices, too. 

I spent around 80 hours in my first playthrough of the game, and with all the stuff that carries over from that save data to a New Game+, my experience with this game is far from over cause there’s still so much I haven’t seen from it even despite the amount of time I’ve spent on it. It is a HUUUGE game with a lot of content, so you definitely have to keep that in mind before buying.

I think I’ll give this game a solid 8/10. Next to World of Final Fantasy, I think this is the best JRPG I’ve played in a long while. I do have some problems with it, and it probably isn’t for everyone; if you’re not really a fan of JRPGs then I’m not sure how much you’d enjoy it. It’s not as action-oriented as, say, Final Fantasy XV, so if you’re looking for something more FFXV-ish then it would probably be wise not to get this game. But if you love turn-based combat, monster collecting and micromanaging the life of a high-schooler, this is right up your alley. All I can say is that this won’t be my last Persona game, that’s for sure.

A bit of talk or some shit about Transformers The Last Knight

The 5th Transformers film is gonna be released tomorrow and I finally seen the actual final trailer and I think it is. I posted a journal on DeviantArt first about it and that I was gonna talk about this on Tumblr mostly ha...... Just saying before seeing this I was watching Collidervideos movie talk and the third one discussing this movie. I've checked on Rotten Tomatos after I the trailer which was also after seeing that part ha man. Their is no score yet and hearing from the video spoilers not about the movie but about that theirs an embargo so got the word phone got it man. Meaning their is no score and no critics talking about it man putting that again just stop.....they said in the video mainly remember Jeremy Jahns says it's 4 Pacific time whatever that means maybe my time 3:08 pm To be brutally honest and I even wanted to check their names but that Ken guy and that Ashely girl. I was mainly thinking well for the Ken guy yet also Ashely I was thinking, "fuck you asshole" just how they worded it. So a quick history man. I've had a history with Transformers kind of still do. To be honest I became a fan cause of the first movie in 2007. After that I've seen many shows, played video games, and bought many figures. I even if I've yeah posted a picture I have a picture showcasing my Transformers collection. For some time I've been thinking of taking down my Transformers and replacing them with other stuff. Honestly the, "fuck you asshole" part I think or....I feel a bit to some of the others but didn't it very much when Jeremy Jahns was up and I love Jeremy Jahns I remember some weeks ago I was surprised but like it he's on Collidervideos man. He's kind of a joy to watch ha man. Along with some of the others. In 2014 almost left ha 2914 lol.....but just I was hyped for Age Of Extinction and well I've seen it twice in theaters almost saw it three times ha man....it was mainly the Nostalgia Critic's video where Doug is playing the character of the Nostalgia Critic and made me rethink.....it kind of broke me. For years I've had a weird relationship with the franchise including the live action films. Just right now a tv spot for Transformers 5 was on man ha......but.....one of the things that happened if you said Age Of Extinction was better then any of the first 3 films I disown you and just never wanna view or see your content ever again even if maybe by chance I see it. With the announcement of the Transformers cinematic universe I felt kind of excited also new writers and just..... It's weird man along with just..... During those years and I even noticed. I thought of a Transformers reboot series which even lead to the first R rated Transformers movie or an extended cut like Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice ha man.....I've realized it was a dream that I realize kind of honestly depressing and jabbing at the Michael Bay franchise as much as I can and those films would be more enjoyable then my so called better films ha or just almost put or twice ha man..... Sorry but.....I trust Rotten Tomatos. My Nana and step grandpa are gonna be gone for three weeks on vacation. I could go by myself but.....I don't know man. Over the years I've rethink some stuff. Along with growing up and such as the latest events with not being so harsh on Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice....right now me on Tumblr is like a tv series haha man......chill out but....it could be my Autism. I have Uber too but and if my mom's okay with it my God I'm 19 and gonna be 20 soon in September. Yet I kind of feel I don't wanna waste my money on a film I won't like. Even if I've realized I don't think I'm the kind of guy I rather enjoy some stuff that makes me happy.... When the Rotten Tomatos score is up or just.....I'll think man ha... Well surprising thing I think yeah when checking out Collidervideos....my mom came in and well.... Got the Blu Ray's of Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice and the Universal Monsters collection that's nice man. Also Loud House is on lol man ha
