Instead of taking kill shots, Bradley shot any attacking villagers in the legs. He had to save ammo, he couldn’t take unnecessary shots. But his blade was only good up close, and it could break, he needed a repair kit before he relied on it too much.

Even if he took headshots, it wouldn’t always kill them. So he had to improvise and use his training to take them out manually. Usually a kick to the head did the trick.

“Holy shit, there’s a lot of them…” Bradley grunted out as he ran around the square.

He ran back behind a building to catch his breath, noticing bags of gold on the ground which he made a mental note to grab later.

THAT'S,,, a good question!

I did give them their conversational tendencies, save for; not using any mention of Christianity in the fic, and it was a bit to adjust considering how much Soap swears using a variation of Jesus & Christ & what have yous, though I suppose you can argue that maybe the more knowledgeable shifters would be aware of world religions etc because of human diplomatic relations.

They sound vaguely british but not entirely scottish or mancunian here, it's sorta an interesting fact actually - I looked it up and turns out Antarctic / Arctic researchers, after a considerable time in the continents, have a tendency to develop accents that sounds (??) vaguely british(???). Don't quote me on it but it's attributed to how isolating from their regions can lead to like, a blending of accents if you stick around certain people a l o t, and I guess there are like more British / adjacent researchers in those places to contribute to that.

For the fic's worldbuilding, I leaned more heavily into the shifters learning English because of the British travelers and researchers so I'd suppose it'd be like. a variation of sorts. Don't know how they would sound exactly but it'd give them some excuse to not sound entirely like americans ig lmao.
