Kitchen is a sacred place they say and although I am no professional cook nor I have ever taken a cooking lesson but I’m interested into making dishes or dessert. I mostly cook healthy and efficient packed meals in a small portion. I also bake in my spare time with the help of her majesty, mum.

So I was tagged by the beautiful @lanatural-books in the tag game to list the 

5 albums you can’t live without. 

As some of you have noted, that is a ludicrous task.  So I am listing here the top artists/albums who have made the biggest impressions on me through the years of my music listening, and I’ll challenge myself to keep it to 5.  I listed them in chronological order of my discovering them.  This was an amazing trip through memory lane to distill the 5 artists/albums who have influenced my life so strongly, so thank you to all of you for inviting me to participate in this game.  And I apologize for the long post, but sometimes once I get started with music I can't stop!  I hope you like my list and more importantly, I hope you learn about some new music and go listen yourselves!  

1. U2 - Really all of their albums, but I started with Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum.  Then went to their older albums - October, Boy, Unforgettable Fire.  They sang with such passion and purpose, it was inspiring.  And then came Achtung Baby and Zooropa, and Pop, and oh my god, I learned how a band was able to reinvent themselves, make fun of themselves in a way, and stay relevant.  Mind blowing!  Though I have moved on and rarely listen to them now, I feel they are the backbone of my musical existence.  

2. The Police - Greatest Hits.  I think this was the first time I realized lyrics could be intelligent and not just “oh yeah baby I love you”.   And ever since then I hold Sting as the standard for what I call “intelligent music”, where the lyrics and music work together to create something unique and different, and most importantly, worth my time.  

3. Aretha Frankiln - Atlantic Records full box set.  Unparalleled voice, unparalleled soul, unparalleled heart.   

4. Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, particularly the oboe solo in the First Movement.  Its sublime beauty brings me to tears nearly every time I hear it.  

5. Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.  This was the first Monkeys album I heard and going along with the themes above, I fell in love with Alex’s absolutely genius lyricism, his wit, his accent.  I even remembering thinking the first time I heard “couldn’’a doon that on a Soonday” saying to myself who does think he is?  Bono?  Only Bono says Soonday.  I felt like the guy on the cover (who at the time I assumed was the singer) was someone I would totally hang out with - scruffy, grungy, and smoking a cigarette.  He was describing my life in a much more eloquent way than I ever could, but it was just so accurate.  The more I listened the more I loved, and of course, have fallen irreparably in love with everything else they have done, which has brought me full circle to all of you.

I didn’t put any links in.  I encourage you all to search on your own and make some great discoveries.  But if anyone wants anything specific, PLEASE reach out and I will be so happy to share.

Hi! I just started getting into seventeen and i'm pretty sure hoshi is my bias even though they are ALL out of this world. I was wondering if you could recommend some videos of him like i watched touch and.....i collapsed. What other things should i know of???🥺

omg anon this is my favorite kind of ask thank u! first of all i’m so happy you’re getting into seventeen and so happy you love hoshi!! he’s the best boy 🥺 agreed that ot13 are all amazing tho so u can’t go wrong!

also wow can’t believe u started off with touch that is truly hard to top!! there’s so many things u should know tbh i don’t know where to start….. i guess i could just start by saying what drew me to him initially!! 

first i started paying more attention to him bc i heard he was a fan of shinee and i was like oh… same. intellectual. and it’s to the point that he mentions shinee whenever he can pretty much because they inspired him (and specifically the song juliette) to be an idol! he auditioned with lucifer. you can see compilation videos of him + shawol antics here and here. 

something else i love which is incredibly obvious but needs to be said is what a talented choreographer and amazing performer he is!! this is an older video but it includes clips of him talking about his choreography and inspiration!

also i feel like here is a great place to list some of my favorite performance videos/fancams:
