ive lived in a few different places; I was in sinnoh for a bit, then i went to paldea to study at naranja academy, but i was born and raised in a small region that shares a sea with kanto! i love to tell people about my home and all of the wonderful Pokémon that live there so please feel free to ask if you’ve never been there !!

im working on completing my pokedex with the help of my team!! id love to make some friends while I’m at it !!!

Get to Know Me!

Hey there! My name is Tala. I'm a trainer from the Sonsa region—it’s a small archipelago near the equator that shares a sea with Kanto and Alola. My goal in life is to travel the world, meet new friends, and take on as many gyms as I can!

I'm currently in Kalos as a student at Shalour Trainer Academy (académie des formateurs shalour) for my secondary schooling! I have four gym badges from the region right now. Once I'm done here, I'm heading home to challenge all of the Sonsan gyms!

On my own time, I do a bit of field research on nutrition. I like experimenting with different berries in my cooking, seeing how their different properties affect Pokémon. The fact that all of them have varying dietary requirements to properly fuel themselves is fascinating. Maybe I'll open up some sort of clinic when I'm older?

“Howdy howdy! Flight was rouuugh!!”

The small teen girl wore a stupid grin on her face, happy to finally spot someone. And, well, she sure did look hilariously out of place, with her too-big cap and hand-me-down flying jacket covering her worn battling gloves. She took a second to push her orange glasses up to the bridge of her nose before reaching a hand out for Gin to shake. The formalities of being Champion, it could be supposed.

“Nice to finally meet you! You look … Mm, pretty much like I imagined. Cool hat!” She was practically bouncing. There are things wrong with her.

“Oh man, whose that on your shoulder? I wish I could bring Small Pie out here too!”

What a bundle of energy. This girl fit the bill of a city teen perfectly; flouting all the curiosity and cheer of a wide-eyed girl, not quite having developed the miasmatic inner depression that sat buried within your average salaryperson.

As Gin watched her bounce like a hyperventilating Spoink, she couldn't help but wonder what series of events occurred within Sonsa to allow a fourteen-year-old to become the regional champion.

...Probably not too dissimilar from the series of events that made Iris champion in Unova, all things considered.

"Nice to meet ya too," Gin replied in kind, reaching down to the...much shorter girl to shake her hand. Huh. "And this is Mackie, the local piggyback-rider. Not quite used to the city yet-- can't blame 'im, really-- so I'm probably gonna be luggin' 'round fifty pounds of Croagunk for a while."

The Chansey Supply's sleek automatic doors slid open with a shhhhk and an electronic chime, and Gin quickly realized she was standing in front of the entrance, taking a step back to allow its formally-dressed patron her exit.

Then...just her, a champion, and the roiling crowd.

There was a short pause.

"Sooooo...this Tropius creature. And the ranger. How do ya reckon we'll go about findin' them?"

fakemon concepts from today for a fan region satanick and I are working on : the sonsa region! she said we should base it off of the phillipines and it was fun . I’m still working on drawing the grass starter but it’s called democub and the third evolution is a big ass thorn bear with a bramble whip

Can you tell us about the Pokémon in your home region?

YES ABSOLUTELY!! omg ok … so I won’t get into detail about aalll of them but for starters well here’s the starter lines XD these are sketches I got from the Pokémon research web site of sonsa !!

(fire) ramlin to flambin to flamberd, (fire/steel)

(water)seliseal to selisari to sarisir, (water/dragon)

an (grass) damocub to damobear to ursadamin! (grass/fairy)

flamberd is known as the sharp face pokemon because of how rigid and strong their ears are ; they can easily cut through most anything!

sarisir are cool; my buddy jony has one who he performs with in showcases! they gain a pair of flippers every time they evolve and it lets them swim SUUPER fast along with their body shape . They go like 70mph…

and ursadamin’s whip is actually its thorny tail! it’s long and spiky but it’s skin is so rubbery it can’t be punctured, so in the wild they’re often found battling with flamberd for fun

next ummm.. oh!!! Our rockruff here evolve into a lycancicle … here’s gym leader nanuq with his !!! (Hes so super cool!! Ignore what I scribbled out LOL… im a mess) they’re super pack animals and they live on our artificial ice-type reserve island Lorobato

and unmmm.. there were these two manmade pokemon the year I became champ but that’s a bit of a long story …

HAII!! thanks for asking >:0 im super duper passionate about my home !!

it’s a small archipelago with 9 islands ! i was born on the biggest one which is bitis’ay :3 that’s also where the Pokémon community headquarters are !! pretty much the base of operations for both the Pokémon contests and the Gyms in this region … so it’s cool that no matter which path you take you get to end up in the same place at the final stretch!!!

it’s mostly suuuper hot here, like… year round ^^*> but the Pokémon community leaders made some artificial environments for ice type Pokémon like … 50 years ago? i remember learning about the way they were made in history. that way we can be versatile and have a wider ecosystem !! gym leader nanuq raises special ice type rockruff on one of those snowblocks (that’s what we call them heheh) which I think is really cool !!

ummm as for battling and championships and stuff … pokemon contests are bigger here than the gym challenge is in other regions lol!! since it’s year round and everyone can compete whenever they like . the gym challenge is only once every two years!! and to make it extra interesting and maybe a bit different from other regions , all of the trainers there run on theme !! since a lot of what they saw in places like kanto or johto was trainers specifically crafting teams with supereffective types because they knew ahead of time … here you can’t even guess! we have a serpent gym here, and miss Medusa’s team had a seviper, a steelix, gyrados, and serperior….

ANYWAYS AHEHE my ramblings are over now !!! thank you so much for asking tropius :0 i need you all to come visit!!!

Um… my friends for sure!!! they mean so much to me and I wanna protect them… (hi arven!!! hi jony!!) … and, as champion, it’s my job to keep protecting the sonsa region!

Zarude: How are you with children?

Im okay with kids I think!!! i love little ones!!!! i used to play with jony’s little sister x3

hiya friend tropius!!

well… it’s a lotta hard work! you pretty much become the icon of the pokemon league- you gotta do exhibition matches, title defenses, all that stuff… here in sonsa, i also do routine checkins on the gym leaders and make sure everything’s going smoothly and that they’re … you know, not just giving badges away LOL. heard the sisters from the cerulean gym in kanto tried to do that once!!

it’s also a lot of publicity .. everyone is gonna want pictures, autographs, a statement i’d imagine, in bigger regions it could get pretty crazy… plus the news channel that sponsors the league in sonsa followed me around for like an entire day after I got my title!! it was kind of bothersome being on tv so much when im used to living quietly, i was dizzy with all of the camera flashes ^^*> but getting congratulated so much made up for it!!

however when everything calms down from all the initial excitement it’s all okay! you pretty much landed yourself a full-time job at the league so you’re making good pokédollars, you get the opportunity to help out with all of the new league stuff (im testing a new pokédex model), you meet the level requirement for every Pokémon and you get discounted food from all your favorite restaraunts HEHE… but the best thing about it really is being an example for new trainers… knowing that people in my region might strive to be where i am makes me happy … and when someone gives me a good fight on the battle court i telll them NEVER GIVE UP!!!!! YOU AND ME ON THE LEAGUE COURT SOMEDAY YHEAR!!!!!! and they listen >:3333!!!!

tl;dr it’s the most rewarding position in the whole wide world!!
